My friend brought me here while I was in town and I was not disappointed! I ordered the Bahn Mi dog as well as the Crafty Mac. My friend ordered the Chicago dog and the Spicy Rooster and some regular fries. I tried the Crafty first and was in love! It's a hot dog with mac and cheese, bacon crumbles, and green chile. The mac was great, topped with some bread crumbs and the bacon was so meaty, not fatty. I thought for sure this would be my #1 until I tried the Bahn Mi. Amazing!! It came with a spicy mayo, cilantro, shredded carrots, daikon raddish, and cucumber. The mayo was so good I could do shots of it! I finished the whole hot dog and wished I had more. The Chicago dog was legit. Green relish and poppy seed bun (impressive!) I didn't try the Rooster because I'm not a Wasabi fan, but my friend liked it. The fries were ok. A little on the greasy side and weren't salted so they were bland to me. I bet the seasoned fries were rockin though! I'd definitely recommend this place and will be returning next time I'm in Albuquerque!

Today I'm having the blue cheese and bacon dog. It's pretty darn delicious, but I'm sitting here totally by myself. No one else is in here. That's sad, because the food is good with interesting combinations of toppings.

Very good but $18.00 for a two hotdog lunch? Dang! I will likely only return if it's national hotdog day or I win the lotto. If you go try the South Carolina (east coast style chili topped with slaw) it was really really good. Chili cheese fries also really good. Barq's root beer but not on tap, still good. 5 stars if the prices were at least reasonable but.... perhaps I'm just cheap.

Wow this place is awesome... The Mac and cheese with chili was meh but fries and tofu dog, literally tofu was great. I got the rising sun which was a mixture or Japanese influence Of radish and ginger slices with seaweed and fermented carrots. Quite tasty fries were straight up amazing!!! Mac and cheese wasn't really special. It's worth the long drive.

I love this place and so does my kid! This winter there will be a bar.. Hells ya! They use all local ingredients and the hotdogs are all beef. Very clean and staff is friendly!

We've tried about a half dozen of their dogs now, as well as a few sides. Every dog is incredible!! And the Truffle Fries ate delish! The Mac & cheese was unfortunately dry, but it's hard to knock every ball out of the park, right?

I've visited many times and I'm finally writing a review. First let me address the Chicago Dog. If you're from Chicago or have had Chicago dogs from Chicago well then you'll never be happy on your quest for one that's just like home. We're not in Chicago so stop complaining that it's not the same, same with pizza. You'll never find one here that's the same but Urban Hot Dog makes a fine effort to get it right. The crafty dog is just a taste explosion and I think that's the best on the menu with it's creamy Mac n cheese and it's bit of crumbled bacon. Don't forget the green chilie that is really good and not that neon green Bueno kind either. Another favorite of mine is the Le Bleu. Bacon wrapped dog with bleu cheese crumbles and sautéed mushrooms. Fresh mushrooms not those fake kind in a jar. The red white and bleu is great too. Bacon wrapped dog, lettuce, tomatoes and bleu cheese. Really tasty. I typically get the sweet potato fries. They come with a nice amount of sea salt. I'd love the regular fries more if they were cut as thin as the sweet potato but if you get regular I recommend the rosemary garlic or bleu cheese with truffle oil. The onion strings are okay but I think I'll stick with the sweet potato fries. Make sure to check the little sign on the counter for specials or new dogs they're trying out. Service is always one of the friendliest in town with patient employees that want to talk about the dogs and give you their favorites. I'll keep going back again and again to help support small, local and amazing restaurants.

Excellent hot dogs, very friendly owner, definitely worth a visit. We had the Chicago (authentic down to the poppy seed bun and electric green relish), the crunchy onion, and garlic & rosemary fries--all were delicious.

Have wondered about this place for a long time now, and finally took the leap! AMAZING! Now I love a good hot dog like the next person, but these were simply delicious! I tried the "Le Bleu". This dog was bacon wrapped, fried, and covered with sautéed mushrooms, blue cheese & thyme. Best thing I've eaten in a long time! Delicious!!! We also got the "Crunchy Onion" with fresh fried ancho dusted onion strings with UHDC chipotle mayo. Another amazing choice. Their French fries (both "plain & simple" and "rosemary garlic") were perfectly cooked to a golden brown with a nice crunch. If you're someone with a bigger appetite, I would suggest getting 2 different kinds. One was enough for me. The fries are portioned for about one person (my daughter and I shared and it was the perfect amount. Prices were good. Dogs were between $4.50 & $6.25. Fries between $2 & $4. They also has tofu dogs (marinated tofu) & turkey dogs. If you have never been, I HIGHLY suggest giving it a try. I've always enjoyed 'plain' dogs but thought these fancier ones were worth it. I will DEF be back!! Hope they stay around for a long long time!! Thanks Urban Hotdogs!

The best hotdog I've ever had. The owner is very personable and makes you feel like a part of the family. They also support local schools youth groups and community activities. They are a class operation! Can't wait for my next dog!

Best hot dogs in town. Great service. They have their standards but in addition, there are always specials. I could write another long, detail review. However, let me just make this point-I've eaten here dozens of times and I have never had a bad meal or experience. In fact, I have yet to be burned out on Urban Hotdog. I am always up for a meal here. If you have not been to U.H. do yourself a favor and make the trip.

On a day when we were looking for a "light snack" before attending a get-together, we finally gave the Urban Hotdog Company a try. This place is tasty, though a bit pricey for a hot dog. If you're seriously hungry, you'll easily spend upward of $15 to fill up which, I guess isn't a terrible deal, but it being located near some prime West Side restaurant real estate, it's difficult to justify being so spendy when we're talking about, well, hot dogs. That being said, if you're looking for a quick fix, this place is tasty. The service seemed a bit slow (again, how long does it take to make a hot dog?) but the quality of the dogs made up for our longer-than-anticipated wait. The variety of dogs is quite good, however. You can keep it straight-forward with a classic flavor combo or go weird with mac and cheese. Definitely a fun place to take the kids, and a nice change of pace if you're tired of the same old thing.

My husband and I were craving hotdogs for lunch. We found ourselves at the Urban Hotdog Company and we were not disappointed. My husband had the Chicago dog and it was outstanding! I went with more of the simpler dog with just ketchup and onions. But it was awesome. Service is excellent. Make sure you stop and give it a try you'll be glad you did.

Hot dog was okay... I ordered garlic Rosemary fries sounds really good right? Wrong they were dry rosemary and garlic salt... Yuck they were the saltiest fries I have ever eaten. Overall if you want a decent hot dog by a Costco membership

Went here the other day with my son to try it out. I got the Le Bleu--really how can you go wrong with bleu cheese and a bacon-wrapped hot dog--it also had mushrooms but those were few and far between. My 10-year old got the Crafty Dog--hot dog with mac-n-cheese and bacon. Interesting idea--my kid loved it--but I thought the mac-n-cheese was a little on the dry side for my liking. The hot dogs themselves were excellent. It's a fun idea and we'll probably go back again to try out the other dogs.

Love the food here! The owner is as nice as can be and chances are he is the man taking your order. I love the Le Bleu Dog and the Dog Bites which come with Chipotle sauce and BBQ Sauce! Yum! It may take a while because it is "Made to order" but I am more than happy to wait. Would however update the cup sizes for the fountain drink the small Styrofoam cups leave some to be desired with the salty food. The ambiance is nice and clean with some Frank Sinatra for the background music!

Urban Hotdog Company We are West-sider's. Imagine I am crossing my fingers and forming a "W." Ok, now that we got that silliness out of the way. As we drive in the area running errands, we would always see the kid with the sign for this place. After weeks of seeing this sign. I felt compelled to visit this hotdog spot. So one Sunday afternoon the family was packed up in the car and we finally went to check out what this was all about. We had a place similar to this in Las Vegas NV. They served bulgogi hotdogs, and angry kimchi fries. So my expectations were on high when we made it to Urban Hotdog Company. We walked in and wasn't sure if there was a waiter or counter order. To my relief you order from the counter. The fountain station is hidden, so I was a little worried. You can tell I try to avoid wait staff. Sorry no offense, I just didn't want this quick lunch to be a complete mission. The employees greeted us promptly and I thumbed through my trusty Yelp app to check all the wonderful pics my fellow Yelper posted of the fare. At that moment I kind of panicked. I didn't know what kind of hot dog to order. So I played it safe and ordered a Chicago dog. My wife ordered the bahn mi hot dog. I also order a couple plain hot dogs and plain french-fries for my daughters. I talked to what seemed to be an owner or a manager. I told him the sign sent me. He was happy, and said, "well I'm glad it's working." The food was fantastic. Don't get me wrong, I may have ordered a boring hot dog, but this Chicago dog was spot on. My wife's hot looked amazing too. The menu is creative, and the hotdogs and bread used are great and quality. The portions are a good size. They have an assortment of different french-fry options. They also have a punch card where your 11th hot dog is free. Overall a great alternative to the sea of fast food places surrounding this little hot dog joint. If you are in the Westside you have to try this place. You won't be disappointed. There so much more menu I need to try that I have to go back. Cheers!

I came in search of the perfect Chicago dog, but was disappointed. Only one sport pepper comes on the dog, and for every extra pepper you want, it costs $0.35....not cool. The sport pepper MAKES the Chicago dog, in my opinion, and 3-5 should come standard with it. The guy running the register forgot to charge us for the onion strings we ordered. When the order came out without them, I mentioned we had ordered onion strings, and the guy came to our table and just said, "I forgot to charge you, that'll be $3.50." It came off rude, so I simply said thanks, but don't worry about it. A few minutes later, a different employee came by saying that, in fact, the proper protocol was to offer us a coupon for a free hotdog in apology for the mistake. He apologized to us and brought out the onion strings free of charge. This was much appreciated and somewhat redeeming. However, since my goal is to also critique the food here, the onion strings suffered from what I like to call bottom-of-the-bag syndrome. If you've ever been stuck with the last bit of chips in the bag, you know what I'm talking about. In conclusion, the hot dog was ok, but I've had better, and the service was shaky. I probably won't return here.

I definitely enjoyed this place enough to come back, even though I live on the east side. My polish was delicious; the added sauerkraut and Lusty Monk mustard gave it that extra little bit. Do yourself a favor if you're craving a dog or sausage and give this place a try.

A little overpriced and not that great. Sorry, but I prefer a street vendor dog to Urban.

  • Chris G.

Very nice change of pace!! I had the "Real Chile" dog with fries. The green chiles were very good and the fries were delicious!!! As to the price of the hot dogs, I really don't think it's overpriced at all. The food is great and so is the service. As much bad service as I've received in my life, I'll gladly pay over and over again to have a positive restaurant experience!!!

Very impressive. High-end hot dogs and hamburgers are ubiquitous in big cities, but for some reason ABQ lags in this genre (which I guess is reflected in *Urban* Hotdog's name). Hopefully Urban represents the beginning of a trend. We tried the Crafty (mac & cheese and bacon), the Crunchy Onion (chile onion strings and chipotle mayo), and a side of fries with queso. All three = great. Lots of fun. Very filling for two (me, a moose, and my wife, a mouse). Exactly what you'd expect if you've spent time in a big city. (That said, I'd like to be able to choose from a larger selection of different, more exotic types of hot dog meat, a la Hot Doug's in Chicago.) Some random, minor points: the location is unfortunate - hidden in the back of a large strip mall shopping complex - and might spell doom for any but the most alluring of small businesses. Unfortunately, Urban was empty when I visited. Their t-shirts are cool and affordable. Lastly, a philosophical disagreement... with their execution of mac & cheese as a hot dog topping. They use a sharper cheese that adheres more closely to the noodles and is more crumbly than creamy. I think this is the wrong way to go. High-end hot dogs don't necessarily require high-end versions of their toppings. I say, let the bacon and maybe some herbs (if you must) class it up, but use the old-fashioned type of mac & cheese that engulfs the dog with synthetically creamy and recognizably cheesy indulgence.

So, I have a saying, do not order fish at a steakhouse or vise versa. I ordered the Braut worst. It came with sweet beets and goat cheese. It was good, and I applaud the creativity, but the hotdogs are better. So, chalk one up to ordering. Also, the sweet potato fries were a little over fried. That said, I am probably a bit picky! As usual, the service was incredible, and they go out of their way to make the experience a fun one. The restaurant is kinda hip for a hot dog joint! An eclectic jazz and modern music in the background accompanies a modern version of a diner. It looks like this might become a regular haunt!

Amazing food! Just came in for the first time, even though I've driven by tons of times and wanted to stop by before. I got the spicy rooster and my husband got the crafty dog and we shared the blue cheese and truffle oil fries. Everything was TOP NOTCH! including service! We will absolutely be back in.

Nice vibe. Super creative food. Clean art and menus. Staff could use a little more drive and get to. The place can be empty and you still have to wait... All the food is so good it ends up being worth it.

We don't make it out to the west side very often, so when we do, we like to try out new places. We looked around on Yelp this time and found quite a few chains (not our style) and then stumbled across the Urban Hot Dog Company. Now we're talking! It took a try or two to find the storefront, but we called for directions and they were very helpful - we had actually driven past it. The first impression is a little sterile. Concrete floor, very little in the way of decor, minimalist is a kind description. Not unpleasant, just not at all imaginative. The staff were very nice, accommodating. Explained answers to all of our questions about the menu, very personable. The grill is right behind the register, so you can see everything abut your food being made. Always a good thing. I chose the Le Bleu, but I hate Bleu cheese (yeah, but the rest of the dog sounded awesome!), so I requested a sub and they were totally fine with it. I got goat cheese instead. (As an aside, the Crafty Dog was REALLY tempting, but I came up with a plan for that...) Our food came and we dug in - really yummy. Everything about the food was fabulous, even though I felt like there was something missing about mine. Delicious! We also got a side of mac and cheese, which we both tried on our dogs - delish! (Clever, right?) They have several different types of fries, and we chose the rosemary and garlic. I was a little hesitant, because sometimes fries of that type can be over seasoned. SO not the case here - these were PERFECT. Lightly seasoned so you get the potato taste as well as the seasoning, perfectly combined, more complementing each other than competing. Awesome. After we ate, I couldn't remember the name of my dog, so I went to look at the menu. That's when I realized what was wrong with mine - it was supposed to be covered with sautéed mushrooms - it had none at all. Too bad, too, because that would have been so perfect. I mentioned it to the guys behind the counter and they were very apologetic. They gave me a free dog card for next time. I wasn't angry or anything, and would have been ok without it, but that was a nice gesture, and I appreciated them going out of their way to make it better. I do wish they had Pepsi products instead of Coke... Overall, we really liked it, and we wish there was a UHDC on our side of town. But we will go again for sure. You should too!

Great hotdogs. Unique and something different. Prices are higher than I'd prefer. But then again, they pretty much just sell hotdogs, gotta make a living somehow I guess.

  • Jazmine V.

Let's start with the good: VERY FRIENDLY staff. I mean, they went above and beyond to make sure our meal was good. Great concept. The hot dogs are good. My husband had the crafty dog, which was topped with mac n cheese and bacon. We split the Le Bleu dog (blue cheese and mushrooms on that hot dog) and it was a wonderful combination/ The Bad: expensive...I mean, yes...the hot dogs are creative, but they are still hot dogs. You'll pay $6-7 bucks for one. Also, I thought the curry dog was topped with tofu and curry, but it was actually just tofu and curry, no hot dog. In escensce, it was a vegetarian hot dog...which i didn't realize until it came to the table. Cool place, but I don't know if I'll be going there on a regular basis.

  • Colin S.

YES I will drive across town for these dogs because no other place is doing them like these guys! Nice service, creative flavor combinations that actually taste great and all at a reasonable price. I'm normally a steamed bun guy but the buns here were so fresh and warmed on the grill that they complimented the other ingredients beautifully. I want to try other menu goodies but I really enjoyed the Real Chile and NYC dogs alot! Definitely gonna hit that Farmer sandwich and the slaw also. I really wasn't impressed with the Rosemary Garlic Fries. Didn't taste much garlic or rosemary at all but the fries themselves were cooked just right. I like to see a nice sprig of rosemary on top for its visual and aromatic appeal. Just saying... Urban Hotdog has my business! They are filling the gourmet dog niche in Albuquerque. It would be great to see a second shop somewhere across the Rio Grande!

Listed as a best in city and is deserved. I had the decadent Flying Dutchman weekly special menu item with ancho dusted onion strings that were both good eats. So many choices I will have to return...I was trying to not go too crazy with my daily calories. -;)

"YELP! YELP! YELP!" The natural world can be insanely mysterious. I have a neighbor who owns a Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua crossbreed mutt, the first time I saw it my mind couldn't get a handle on the creature, nor could I comprehend the seemingly impossible biological forces which managed to align and conceive the animal. It just didn't seem right. As time has passed, however, I've noticed that the canine has the best attributes of both breeds without the characteristics that endlessly annoy me. The Chihuahua is cute and curious, but it doesn't Yap, and the Terrier is task-oriented but not to the extent of a neurotic pure-blood. I'll never understand how the star-crossed parents of this hybrid pulled it off, but somehow the union not only worked out, they created a synthesis of unnatural perfection. I got a similar impression at the UHDC as I stared at the Curry dog: marinated tofu with veggies, chopped peanuts and cilantro nestled inside... a hot dog bun? Where's the rice? The naan? This just ain't right, I thought. But I closed my eyes, sank my teeth into the concoction and instantly knew the creation had been waiting to happen in the cuisine cosmos. These dogs are inspired, fun, and stupid good. I also had the pleasure of munching a bite of my friend's chili dog - that's chili with an I - which was smothered in green chile with an E. That's an easier combo to make sense of, and it was fantastic. One final culinary treat, the Farmer (a vegetarian option), proved worthy of praise with fresh basil, a couple of cheeses (local goat cheese!), some greens, tomato and what I believe was a sun-dried tomato paste... seriously good. We sampled the queso fries and red-chile dusted onion strings, both were legit munchies, absolutely worth the caloric intake. I really appreciate that the menu emphasizes New Mexican flavor whenever possible, as well as the focus on locally-derived produce, bread and meats. I can't wait to come back. This place will satisfy any palate, and the prices are totally fair, $3.25 - $6.25. The most pricey dog is drool-inducing: a Guinness soaked brat with sugared beets and goat cheese. Oh, and mint. Sound strange? Let it Yap around your mind a minute. Sounds like unnatural perfection to me. Great new local business! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Food and service was decent, I liked the unique and different ideas on the classic Hot Dog! The fries were tasty and the sausage Dog I had was great. The problem I had is for my Vegan girlfriend. She was excited because they have tofu options... But they were marinated in a milk product, which really bummed her out. If they mess around with some good tasting, Vegan friendly options, we would go back. Until then... Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn...

This place is awesome! So, so worth the money! Cheap and extremely delicious..... The service was awesome. We told them that it was our first time there and they showed up with the Chicago dog, just for us to try. . For free ! Wow that's what you call bad ass service. There fries are the bomb and super fresh! We where service with 10 minutes of sitting and they came to check on us twice. You must try it. It's so worth it.

This is a unique hot dog place with some creative types of dogs and sausages! Before I rave about the dogs and fries, let me make a few suggestions: - Specifiy what kind of mustard are used on each type of dog (nothing worse than expecting spicy brown deli and getting dijon mustard - yuck). Those little details can make or break a dog! - Get Coke Zero (this is a suggestion to all the restaurants, I'm a bit biased about that) - Tell new customers more about the city set-up, "you are bejing" means nothing to newbies. - Ditch the lame plain styrofoam cups, get a cup with your logo on it or better yet, some kind of recycleable material. Now, on to the good stuff....I had the "Jive" turkey dog... which was delicious except for the yucky dijon mustard (hence the comment about types of mustards). I also tried another dog that my son ordered that was NYC and the brautwurst dog and my daughter got the starter dog and ordered her own types of toppings (which is a nice touch). We also got 2 orders of fries to split between the four of us (which was sizeable amounts), we got the rosemary and garlic fries and the chili con queso fries.... both wonderful choices that will make even the pickest eater delighted! So, overall, this place gets 4-stars and would have gotten 5-stars if it weren't for the mustard-mishap. Will definitely go again and again and again!!!

Had the banh mi hot dog, Mac n cheese, and sweet potato fries. As pretty as the hot dog was there wasn't the vinegary tanginess that I was looking for from the banh mi pickles. Mac n cheese was too al dente for my taste and fries were just so-so. I love their efforts with trying all these new flavor combos, but I think they need to be more aggressive with the seasoning.

After reading all the great Yelp reviews my husband, toddler and infant headed out to this restaurant. My toddler LOVES hot dogs so we thought it would be perfect. We were greeted by the super friendly staff who were so helpful in assisting us in navigating through all the nuances/answering questions etc..since we had never been here. We came with the intention of buying several hot dogs to try them out so we could know what to get in the future - we are creatures of habit so once we like something we will stick with that. We ordered the Jive, The Crafty Dog, The Starter, The other Chili dog and some hot dog bites. We also got the garlic and sweet potato fries. My little one didn't care for any of the hot dogs but she enjoyed the bites - which I also sampled and they were super tasty. My husband enjoyed the Jive and Chili Dog while my faves was the Chili Dog. The crafty dog was good but it tasted like Mac and Cheese --- I couldn't even taste hot dog. The Starter dogs were ok but when in a place like this it really paled in comparison to the other options. The restaurant itself is somewhat small and could probably get cramped when busy but they do have outdoor seating. There was plenty of parking but again it could fill up fast. We got our order pretty fast and everything came right. Also no one gave us dirty looks when our infant let out a few "screams" --- gotta love that! We will definitely be back.

I came here the day after I came from Chicago since I was still craving Chicago dogs and well it wasn't exactly the same as a real Chicago dog but it was pretty close especially for being NM. The Dog menu at this place is pretty awesome and there rosemary fries are crisp and fresh. This place is a total hidden gem and worth checking out.

My husband recently discovered this place and we thought we would stop by there to get some dinner before we go see a movie. All I can say is "wow" ! Who knew in Albuquerque we would have a gourmet hot dog place. I know people would tell me we had Top Dogs, but I would say this is so much better. The Rosemary and Garlic fries were heavenly and my Rising sun hot dog was delicious! There are many other items on the menu that I wish to try and I would say I am coming back here again!

I will first start by saying that I am not a fan of hot dogs. That being said, I am a fan of supporting new local businesses. Though I live in Denver, I lived about 5 years in Albuquerque and my parents live in Rio Rancho, so I find myself back to the area often. I was taking my mom to the AT&T store and saw this place. The decor, the sign, everything looked trendy, which made me want to try it. While at AT&T I looked up the website and saw some of the pictures that the members have posted. These hot dogs looked delish! I also saw some of the green chilie, and I decided that I had to get one of these before heading to the airport to catch a flight. I ordered the Mac and Cheese dog with green chilie (as suggested). It was fabulous! The flavors were great, the chilie was fresh roasted and the hot dog was actually good! Order are taken on an iPad, so are payments for food. I always like when new places incorporate new technology. My only suggestions for the place... 1) get different cups for your drinks. Since I had to take my food to go, the cups that were supplied didnt have lids, and was kind of a mess in the car 2) Serve local beer/wine. Thats always a plus when eating hot dogs! Otherwise, great job! This place is great!

Our first time here. The service was very friendly and helpful. The chili dog with a side of onion rings was awesome, the sauce was very tasty. The Bahn Mi with rosemary garlic fries was a tasty treat from the traditional. Urban Hotdog Company is a great place to eat yummy dressed up hot dogs. i felt the price was in the right range for the yummy food.

These are good hot dogs! 4 stars for ABQ! All the dogs are named for metropolitan -- ah wait "urban" cities. I have had the Korean one, Chicago, and Le Bleu. Korean was good, Chicago was better, Le Bleu could have been better with more toppings. The truffle fries were yummy but a little cold and not truly truffley. The rosemary ones were really yummy. There was only one guy working when I went late afternoon. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and worked quickly as a large party came in after me. Definitely would go back for a late post-shopping snack.

The thing that was most clear to me after talking to the owner and the manager and the guy kindly clearing clutter off my table, is that these guys are dreamers and they are committed to boosting hotdogs to the next level. I appreciate people who are passionate about what they do whether its power lifting or tuba playing or hotdog chic. I tried the B&B: beer soaked bratwurst with beets, goat cheese, and mint. First of all, thank you UHC, for understanding that even people who eat hotdogs require nutrition and are capable of tasting food. There are several subtle and well conceived layers of flavor on this one. I had to chuck the bun which was upstaging the brat and drowning out the other flavors. Taken this way, it was a very nice combination, but according to official Coney Island rules, in order to technically count you have to eat the hotdog and the bun. I would like to see softer more flavorful and complimentary bread products to go with such a fancy dog. (this is not the kinda low brow joint where people get away with dunking their bun in their water and swallowing it whole.) I tried the crafty which was a grilled Nathan's 6 to 1 (that means a little larger), topped with mac and cheese and bacon. This is the perfect comfort food. Women, if you've noticed that your man is coming home late from work, it may not be another woman, it may very well be the hotdog that has come between you. Unlike the B&B, I had no issues with the bun on this one as the recipe calls for white bread. I promised my wife that there would be something for her too. She had the all vegetarian curry which is not a dog but curry marinated tofu in a hot dog bun. Here again, like a tuba player in a power lifting competition, the bun did not boost the food. Not all white breads are equal. Finally, I always make the point of tasting the chile and the chili because as a New Mexican you can't know a restaurant without knowing their chile. The green chile is excellent, here's why. They roast it fresh on the grill before it goes on your dog. You know when you come home in September with a fresh sack of roasted chile and you bag it for the year? Their chile has that same incredible smell of nostalgia and pain.

I get a craving for a good hot dog once in while, and for that craving this place hits the spot. Their variety of toppings is awesome and surprising. The have from the traditional to a Texas option (the best one). The staff is really friendly and they are willing to add any toppings to your dog upon request. The restaurant is really clean and I don't think I've ever seen it packed to where you have to wait a long time for your order, this is important to me because I don't like waiting for my food too long and being in the same space with a lot of people. I recommend this spot for anyone who likes a gourmet dog.

Urban Hotdog Company is a solid 4-star business working their way to 5. The food was good, service was excellent, but needs to fine-tune some things as they just opened. My favorite thing we ordered was the garden sandwich. This sandwich was SO GOOD. The kitchen took a while to cook all the veggies for the sandwich, but I really liked the fact that they came out to apologize for the wait. Also, once it came out, they gave us a card for a free hotdog next time we come in due to their error. I liked that. The garden sandwich, itself, was worth making the drive out to the NW side from Kirtland. The veggies were delicious, the addition of the goat cheese was a hit, and despite it being a veggie sandwich I felt full and satisfied after eating it. Great success! We also ordered the blue cheese, chive and truffle oil fries. I felt like the blue cheese overpowered the truffle oil and think it could have used more oil. But for $4.95, I feel like it was a steal nonetheless. I also ordered the Jive dog (turkey dog with sauteed mushrooms, local stoneground mustard and fontina cheese). My Jive dog was missing the local stoneground mustard and didn't look as bountiful as the Real Chile dog that the bf ordered. However, it was pretty damn good. And having shared the fries and garden sandwich, I was pretty full. The bf's Real Chile dog looked spectacular and he said he really enjoyed it. The bun was overflowing with a plethora of veggies (tomatoes, onions, and green chile). For everything we ordered (blue cheese/chive/truffle oil fries, garden sandwich, Jive dog, Real Chile dog, 2 drinks), our total came to a little over $25. I'd say that's pretty darn good. The prices are so reasonable for what you get. All-in-all, although there were a few kinks with our order, the food, service, and prices are worth the trip to Urban Hotdog Company. I'll definitely be back again to see how they're doing on food and service after some time since they just opened and will update my review. Until then, give this place a try. It's a great concept and the food is pretty amazing.

Have been twice, got regular dogs and regular fries- the service was great and the fries were amazing. Went by just for fries this last time, the truffle oil, blue cheese fries were the bomb, tried the rosemary fries also and they were really good too.

This is exactly what Albuquerque needs more of - little places where you can duck in and grab a small bite to eat. Ever wonder what the full potential of a bratwurst or hotdog looks like? I have seen it, it is amazing, and it is at Urban Hotdog Company. Do yourself a favor and eat here at least once.

Business plan: grill a hot dog and add toppings that anyone could add on their own at home but didn't consider doing but since we thought of it we will overcharge them. Oh yeah, let's add some generic overpriced fries too. Positives? Thanks for the take home menu cause now i make my own at home for a fraction of your price.

Albuquerque has been hurting for some tasty hot dog action since Top Dog closed down a few years ago. I've tried some of the other local establishments in the past and have never come away thrilled. Urban Hotdog Co. doesn't follow in the typical Chicago style of hot dog eatery, but I think they're on to something here. The menu is filled with the typical favorites: classic, NYC, Chicago dog, etc. but does sport some unique "urban" dogs. Myself, I went for the B&B which is a Guinness soaked brat covered in sweet beets, goat cheese, and mint leaves. I know, I know, what the hell was I thinking right? I don't even like beets. Well guess what, it was damn good. It was a great mix of bitter and sweet and I was pleasantly surprised. Would I get it again? Yes absolutely, but I've got to try the rest of the menu first. If they had me with beets, I can't wait to see what I think of the rest of the menu. This place is really new. I think they're a week old new so the service was top notch. You have servers checking on you occasionally to see what you like/didn't like about the food. They aren't just asking to ask like most restaurants. They really want to know so they can get a feel for what people are thinking about the menu. I know this is probably happening because the restaurant is in the infancy stages, but I hope they keep this around because it made for a nice experience where it felt like the organization cares about my experience. Many thanks to the Yelp "Hot New Businesses" feature for steering me to this joint.

Highly recommend ...and have to many. Great to have creative, delicious eating establishments like this on the west side. Usually places like this open in NE Heights or Uptown so it's extremely welcoming to have them represent the NW side. Great change-up for a hot dog establishment and dare I say upscale without being obnoxiously pricey. The prices are reasonable for above the norm hot dogs. Thanks for keeping it on the west side! Friendly staff, extremely clean and oh so yummy!

Got to say I am not a big fan of having to go to the West side of town for any reason. Urban Hotdog Company has changed my mind until they open a store on the East side. I would gladly make the drive to enjoy these delicious "health missiles" any day! Had the Bahn Mi and sweet potato fries and both were perfect in every way! Thank you UHC for the pride that you take in such a simple food!

I recently had a great conversation with a co-worker that moved to NM from Chicago. He mention he had been on a quest to find a good Chicago dog and authentic Chicago pizza. His top two places for a Chicago dog were Chicago Dog and Urban Hotdog Co, in that order. So I had to try both places to see how they stacked up to my personal favorite, The Cube. As noted in my review for The Cube, I always order a Chicago Dog and the speciality dog with BBQ sauce and Cole Slaw. So, I ordered the same two dogs at Urban. The service was friendly and quick but given that I was eating at 2pm and there was only one other person in the restaurant I would expect nothing less. The Chicago dog was good but it was missing something. Not until Ieft the place did I realize it did not have the celery salt which traditionally comes on it. I told my friend about the lack of celery salt and he said they must have forgot it because he knows his dog came with the salt. Oh well, next time I guess. The second dog was good but not great. The BBQ sauce was somewhat bland as was the slaw. Remember I am comparing to The Cube so maybe without the comparision it would have been more memorable. Overall, I would go back since it is close to work and a fair substitute for when I can't make the drive to The Cube. A little tip, you can find a coupon for a free order of fries in the Alibi.

Was concerned about the lack of staff. One person serving tables AND taking orders, having to run back and forth? Was concerned about the cooks who seemingly had to check the menu every time to see how to make the thing the customer ordered. Was concerned about a "large" drink coming in a 16 oz foam cup, for $1.60. I don't need a Super Big Gulp, but after the ice cubes, it winds up being about the size of a McDonald's "small". Was concerned when I got my to-go box, as it seemed light as a feather, for a hot dog (the "Rising Sun" japadog-homage) that cost nearly $6. I still maintain these concerns, as it does seem understaffed and overpriced. HOWEVER, once I bit into the dog, all the concerns melted away, if just for that moment. Holy moly, was that good. One of the best dogs I can recall shoving in my face. Concerns and all, now I can't wait to go back.

I finally decided to stop in here today for lunch to check it out. This place was better than I could have ever hoped for. Fantastic gourmet hot dogs. I will have to keep going back until I can try every single variety! I had the chili con queso fries, which are always a good bet in this town, and they were perfect. My BLT+A dog and my husband's Le Bleu dog were also amazing. Finally, the service was outstanding. So friendly, I will be back.

I would never go here again. I checked in on Yelp right after I ordered and from that moment it took 25 minutes to get our food. The price was not worth it. I am a hotdog and mac n cheese professional and I ordered as so....I was very disappointed. The mac n cheese had no flavor, was soggy, and my hotdog was burned. My husband was soooo not pleased. His hotdog was more burned than mine and he was mad he spent $17ish. Am I crazy? Everyone else seems to love this place.

In the last 12 years or so I have rarely sought after a hotdog. My hotdog experiences have been limited to the occasional baseball game that I get free tickets too and cookouts that ran out of hamburgers. It was only because my wife likes bratwurst that I even agreed to go to UHDC. Since our first trip we have gone several times and have had nothing but positive experiences. The staff is friendly and remembers your order, while encouraging pallet expansion. The food is well prepared, fresh, and quite unique. Never thought I would have a hotdog with mac & cheese, bacon, and green chile, but I did and it was great! I will also second what another yelper said about the rosemary and garlic french fries. They are delicious. So if you're in the mood for something quick and tasty, stop into UHDC for a fancy hotdog. You won't be dissapointed.

I love going to urban hot dog company. The food is excellent and the staff is friendly and helpful. The food is a gourmet twist on the old faithful hot dog. The garlic rosemary fries are out of this world.

After reading all the great reviews I wanted so much to like this place, so I took the first chance I could and hoped on over for hot dogs to go to treat my girls for a pic nic at the park. It was a little hard to get to but I was very to have made the effort as I walked in. They have a great menu and very nicely appointed restaurant, which made it all the more enticing. Even UHC logo merchandising! Very friendly cashier. Took their time, but I saw the guy breading and frying the onions for my crispy onion hotdog, I knew it was going to be worth the wait. Meh. My heart sunk when I took the first bite. It tasted really greasy, probably from the onion rings being fried at a low temperature. Not crispy. Not spicy as the menu describes it. But the worst part was the dog itself has a funny salty taste which I didn't care for, almost tasted like salty rubber. I ate a few more bites to give it a few chances. Maybe its me. I took it apart and took a bite by itself. I look at other reviews and think maybe it's me. But since then I have spoken to a few other people who had the same experience, this is not a good tasting dog. Boy, I really really would like to try other dogs in their menu, but I don't think they'll let me bring my own dog. Bummer. They have a great concept and hotdog ideas. I wish them well though, and if they ever change their dog please let me know! :)

Wow, UHDC hot dogs are great! I ventured into this place on a Saturday afternoon and was amazed at the large selection on the menu. I had the Tiger Dog and my daughter ordered the Rising Sun. The food was great, the restaurant was clean and the staff was well dressed and friendly. This is not your average hot dog stand. In fact, other restaurants in the area should take notice of this place. I hope these guys one day decide to set up shop in my neighborhood, ABQ's north valley.

"Sometimes You Just Crave a Hot-Dog!" I have to say, being in your 40's does not lend itself to eating this type of food on a regular basis (Where did my 18 year-old metabolism go!). BUT, when I do, this is a great new place to get a fix. I grew up in Albuquerque and Top Dog was THE place back n the day. Now, I think it is Urban Dog. There is a HUGE selection of hot dogs - all very unique. I tend to go with what I like - the Chicago Dog. Actually could have eaten two they were that good. Plan to venture out next time and try the Crafty Dog (aka - mac & cheese with bacon) or the Italian. Very creative menu and modern atmosphere. It is not inexpensive - hot-dogs will run you about $4.50/each, but I think it is worth it considering the creativity and fabulous flavors! Worth a visit and the calories for sure!

The atmosphere as you enter the doors of the local establishment: Greeted with menu in hand by a friendly host while in queue, you are surrounded by a crisp and elegantly executed modern ambiance. From fixtures to POS checkout, contemporary is the order of the day. Orders are taken, sign away charges with a few swipes of a finger, and you are given a world-location card for order identification table delivery. Large windows provide ample natural light adding to the accessibility of the interior; no harshness but rather natural warmth to the room breaking free of any misconceptions of sterility and lifeless people may associate with modern design schema. As a vegetarian, I always enjoy exploring the execution of dishes that take the fundamental ingredients of vegetarian dining: tofu, vegetables etc. and examine the permutations into a thousand ideas brought to fruition. Today's ingredients were green curry-marinated vegetables, marinated tofu, peanuts and cilantro on a sesame seed bun, known as "Peanut". The curry was present, but not overwhelming, the vegetables crisp and not overcooked. The tofu was firm and well executed though I suspect a fried tofu version may bring more crisp and snap texture to the dish. It is not tofu trying to be a hotdog, but rather tofu executed in the context of hotdog delivery. The flavors were pleasant, and salt may be required if you are the saline-inclined. I chose sweet potato fries for the dish as there are many options for fries and flavors. This seemed the best option to compliment rather than interfere with the main course flavors. Overall a pleasant experience; a friendly atmosphere and staff, creative food and an accessible owner see this establishment starting off in a positive direction.

My expectations for the wiener were a bit too high. Those are words I never imagined typing, but nevertheless, they are true. The now-closed Señor Dog set the high-water mark by deep-frying their dogs a bit before grilling. Don't get me wrong; Urban's are still delicious but I was expecting better. My other complaint is the same as others. This place is a bit pricey and I probably won't be frequenting it as much as I would like. Now for the positives. The fries are outstanding and are worth every penny. As I told my friends, "orgasmic" is too mild an adjective for the rosemary-garlic fries. I don't know if they make the buns on site, but it sure tastes like it. Finally, the service is terrific and the employees are friendly. All in all, a very positive experience but the price keeps it from being four-star fare.

My stomach was rumbling after running some Saturday errands--so I popped in to see what the recent hubbub was about. I was happy to see that they had more than just beef dogs on the menu, and so I ordered a pork dish, the Italian Sausage that came with a healthy dose of a "pomodoro" sauce and a generous amount of melted mozzarella cheese. The German in me came out however, as I had to reach for the yellow mustard that's available at every table. The dog was a good serving size, but the bun was somewhat underwhelming, and I ended up leaving about 20% of it on the plate. I opted for a right-sized order of garlic-rosemary fries, which completed the "paisan" package....as they were pretty tasty. With a refillable soda-fountain beverage, my total came close to $11.00, not cheap for a dog...even with the Italian flavors that were added. The service is good/very-welcoming. I observed one of the servers behind the counter, very patiently explaining "everything" to two cute 10 year old girls, who were pooling their pennies, nickels and dimes to come up with something they could share....looked like they were wanting to have a "grown-up" fast food experience, and were even carrying their purses:). This place is clean, the staff is ample and well-trained, and there are enough imaginative offerings on the wiener menu, to cause me to come back. However, with all the competition for the lunch-crowd dollar on seemingly, every corner, "when" is the big question.

While visiting family in ABQ my sister insisted that we eat here. I loved it!!! Wish someone in Colorado Springs would open something like this. We went twice in the 2 days I was in town. I was sure to get a menu to try to re-create some of these hotdogs in my own kitchen. My favorite was the "Le bleu", hotdog wrapped in bacon and topped with mushrooms and blue cheese. the fries with blue cheese and chives and truffle oil are to die for too! LOVE LOVE LOVE

I'm not a big fan of hot dogs, but I could see adding Urban to my list of great places to eat. I had the real chili dog minus onions. The green chili has a nice heat and great flavor, the cheese was just right and the diced tomatoes were a good contrast. Toward the end of my meal, I noticed the bun got a little soggy- I might have been a slow eater that day or maybe it wasn't toasty enough. Either way, I enjoyed it! The fries were crisp and my BF loved the Chicago dog so much he went back and ordered the Italian too!

Gotta love a feisty dog and Urban Hotdog Co. is one feisty dog. This place has struck gold on opening day and the future looks great. The menu is crazy and has combinations that will intrigue the senses. Try the crunchie onion or real chile dog and don't forget the rosemary garlic fries. All three were great. Can't wait to try something different next time and bump up my 4star rating to a 5star rating.

I heard about this place from a friend of a friend's ex room mates cousin....I heard about it somehow and put it on my mental "if I'm ever on the west side ....hur hur" list. Then Urban Hot Dog Factory was reviewed by the Alibi and I had to make to drive to experience the B&B euphoria I knew that awaited me on the other side of the Rio Grande. I went with my friends as to properly order and share a plethora of dog/bratwurst delight. The food took 15 minutes. We all felt like we were sucker punched after the first bite- really now? Let's break it down. Bun: We had high hopes for this element alone after hearing they are made by local bakery. Really dry and just too much- the bun to meat ratio is totally jacked. Seriously old Wendy's commercial- where's the beef? Bratwurst (B&B Guiness soaked brat) meh- I don't know if its the aforementioned bun ratio problem- it had zero flavor. The garnishes were visually appealing but didn't add too much depth to the flavor. I was literally confused how a meal with SO many elements managed to be dull and underwhelming. The fries were the same story- we couldn't differentiate which order/flavor combo was which. They all tasted the same- no crunch just a soggy potato in fry shape. On another note- I brought my 4 year old special needs child with me to this visit. On a Monday afternoon in a joint slinging buns I have never been made to feel more unwelcome. 20 bucks for two orders of fries, one adult dog& one kid dog? 30 minute drive? That's really ok Westside- you can have this place all to yourself.

My husband and I were just at Urban Hotdog Company yesterday, it was my second time and his first. Everything was fabulous; the hotdogs, the service, the workers, you name it. I'm sorry for those who did not have a good experience.....give them a second try, I think they read the comments and try to improve or just tell them when you are there, they seem to be open to being the best. We often have out of town guests and this is going to be my next "go-to" place. My personal favorite, the Chicago hotdog!

As a recent transplant from San Jose, CA as well as a former New Yorker, I'm extremely pleased to find a joint like this in Albuquerque, NM of all places. Gourmet hot dog places aren't in every city, and this place is a fine example of the type. I tried a spread of dogs, including the Real Chile, Spicy Rooster, Jive, Italian, and Tiger. Each one was packed to the hilt with fresh ingredients and amazing condiments. When the description says "local stoneground mustard" or "housemade Asian slaw," pay attention, because you're about to hit flavor town. Service is ultra-friendly, prices are ridiculously low (though admittedly I'm used to paying twice as much for food this good back in CA), and everything is made to order. I'll caution folks looking for a 1min pick up place though. Since it's not made until you order it, be prepared to wait as long as you would at most sit-down restaurants for your order. It's hella worth it though, just come in with the same mentality you would at any sit-down place and you'll be fine. Here's to hoping they add footlongs at some point.

Good hot dog place but still no "hot Doug's" (Chicago)... I think this place has a lot going for it but with a few little tweaks can be better. We got the blue cheese/truffle oil fries. Very good fries but the truffle oil doesn't add any taste more of an aroma... Word of advice if you really want a truffle taste use truffle salt not truffle oil.. Or do a little of both! One other thing was that the jive dog while very good.. Was I'd say 2 inches smaller than the length of the bun which made me feel like I was getting a tiny dog... So since this turkey dog is smaller either use smaller buns or get bigger turkey dogs. (see picture). The restaurant is very clean and the staff and owner are very attentive. The crafty dog was very good. I think it should just automatically come with green chile because the Mac and cheese might be kinda bland on its own. Would love to come back to try the veggie sandwich, curry/tofu dog, queso fries, and the Chicago dog

Okay, I wanted to be happily surprised, but it was very much of a blah experience. After reading the write-up in the Journal, I was hoping to find something a little, well, more. I had the Polish Dog with a side of regular fries and water. It all came out to a little over $8 - which I thought was kind of high to begin with. The Polish Dog was nothing to write home about. To be frank (excuse me), those at Costco are much better, bigger, and way cheaper. The dog was served on a bun that seemed to be a little stale and couldn't stay together. It also came with a drizzle of mustard and some sauteed onions. Not only did the dog not hold together, but I had to wind up eating it with a fork/knife - just not a pleasant experience. The fries were ample but a little too salty for my taste. Although I might go back and try another hot dog, I was not really all that impressed. I hope they will re-think about their price, the bread they use, and consider making the dog a little bigger.

What a fun and friendly experience! I had never been, but my hubby had taken the kids before and tonight the owner (?) greeted him and thanked him for returning. I ordered the Chicago, which was awesome; my daughter ordered the Crafty which looked so yummy; my hubs ordered the bratwurst with beets and goat cheese, which he savored; and we ordered the bleu cheese truffle fries and the rosemary garlic fries. I liked the rosemary fries but think they would be even better with lemon pepper! After we were finished we had a great conversation with the cashier while another employee was scrubbing the backsplash shiny clean. We will so be back!

Just tried this place for the first time. It was awesome and very filling. I had the crafty Mac and cheese dog. Great blend of flavors. I also had the con caso fries. No complaints there either. I saw the coupon in the Alibi and made my husband help me find it. We went on a Sunday evening. I love this place!!! Great look, really enthusiastic (but not intrusive) help, and the best hot dog and onion thins ever. The Chicago-style garden dog was the perfect blend of flavors and mouth feel. My husband's Italian dog w/homemade pomodoro reminded me of a street fair in Manhattan's Little Italy years ago where I ate one not as good (the NY sauce was too runny and made the bun soggy...not Urban Hotdog's!). Home-made chipotle aioli for the onion thins was fabulous. And the little one-bite salted caramel cupcake provided just the right sweet after treat. Bathroom was clean, too. I live far from this place, but plan to go back often.

Gourmet dog in a hip, friendly atmosphere. I ordered the Le Blue, a fried dog wrapped in bacon and sprinkled with blue cheese. The additions speak for themselves--delicious. But the quality that stood out was the tasty, juicy, über-hot (temp) dog. I was also surprised by the inexpensive price; my gourmet dog was 5-something. Real blue cheese, bacon, a good bun and quality dog for less than $6?! Made me want to splurge for the fries with truffle oil, blue cheese and thyme....which I did...and which, like the delicious dog, I savored. The world would be a happier place with more Urban hot dogs.

I don't even know if you should be calling these things hotdogs? These guys take a sausage and make it into the most ingenious food concoction you've ever devoured. As some one else said, some places have good food, some have an awesome location with a nice view or a good vibe and decor, some have really great service. Very rarely do all these things come together, then you throw on the fact that it's inexpensive and a great value for the money. I could talk all day long about the great service, awesome decor with a modern vibe and nice views but lets get down to business... The food. I ordered the "Le Bleu Dog" which is of course the dog, with fresh blue cheese, sauteed mushrooms and pieces of bacon. I might be missing something? My girlfriend got the "Crafty Dog" which is the dog topped with home made mac and cheese (which is outstanding) and fresh roasted green chile. We also got the Chile Con Queso fries which were amazing as well. One of the best things of all are the buns, very home made, very soft yet slightly toasted. This place has found every single pinnacle of everything and hit it at it's highest. Not only will I be back but I will beg others to go as well.

Yes, yes...this place pushes out Hotdogs with style and flavor like nobody else in the area. Your classic hotdog goes for $3.50 and if you want any specialty hotdog you are looking at around 6 bucks for a hand held treat. They are inventive, traditional, and modern at the same time. The decor of the spot is pretty neat and really fun too. Here is a breakdown of the dogs we ordered: The Real Chile - It has such a sweet (bacon) sour hot dog, with tomatoes (no onions please and GREEN Chile. I could eat three of these. The Curry - Tofu with veggies, and peanuts is a good combination. BLT & A - This dog surprised me with the combination of blue cheese and avacado and mayo...really differently good.

What a pleasant surprise I found tonight at the Urban Hotdog Company! I was wanting something quick but enjoyable for dinner and I found it here! The staff were absolutely fabulous! Very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Because we could decided on the fries they even gave us a complementary sample! I know this is a hot dog restaurant (which I would say your getting more then a normal hot dog) but honestly the fries impressed me just as much as the hotdogs! They seem to put a lot of thought and research into the product they are serving. The Chicago Dog was exactly what I expected...delicious! The poppy seed bun and pickle gave the dog a nice mix of flavors. With the chili cheese fries it was an excellent combination! The Other Chili Dog with the Rosemary Garlic fries was the perfect combination! If your in the mood for a good Dog and great staff who care about the food and your experience (plus it is reasonably priced) the Urban HotDog Company is somewhere you need to try and go back again. Oh and did I mention they are going to start serving cannoli!! What a way to end your meal!

There are some places where you love them for the food, and some you love for the vibe, and then some places get both right. That is Urban Hotdog for me. I stumbled into this place 2 years ago when I was new to Albuquerque. At the time there was an awesome comic book shop next door, which unfortunately has since closed (Kaboom! I knew thee). The first time I walked in I was greeted by Matt, the manager now owner, and we hit it right off. Every time I've been there since I've been given the same warm greeting by whoever is working. So there's that - the vibe. I like the place, too. Concrete floor, no television (thank you!), the music is appropriate and not blaring, the tables are just what you need for a short meal. They have helped me carry a table outside, too, when I'm there with my dog. I love a place that welcomes my dog. I think the selection of dogs is very clever, and I especially appreciate that there are tofu options. I'm in a bad habit of getting the one I love most every time, but I still do try new things. I adore the string onion rings, and the siracha mayonnaise, and every Dog of the Day I've had was great. I never had anything I didn't like. But you know what? If I was to have a bad experience, I'm sure the folks there would help me find something else with no problem. That's who they are. I'm going to be a big fan of Urban Hotdog probably forever. If I move away, this will be one of those places I will return to when I visit.

Abq, Local, N.M. Wow! I am a hot dog eater and this would be my 8th time coming. I try something different every time and this time I got the Polish dog. I can sit here and tell everyone this is a great place to stop and get the gourmet hot dog you have been craving. The staff and restaurant are very clean. I love it and still plan on telling everyone I know about this place.

I love a good 'dog. I love good fries. I was super excited to try this place. Was. I didn't hate anything, but I didn't love it. I was unimpressed with most of the options on the menu. Most of the hotdogs on the menu didn't sound good to me at all, so I figured I would build my own. Sadly, the toppings available to build your own are not the same things they offer on their contrived 'dogs...so instead, I settled for a plain old hotdog with mustard and relish. I got the rosemary garlic fries. It was fine. The hotdog itself was a really good quality hot dog, which was nice. The fries were perfectly crisp and fresh, but not very rosemary or garlicky tasting. Overall, it was decently good... But I felt that it was overpriced (it was over $20 for lunch for the hubby and I for 2 'dogs and fries that we shared with no drinks). I would eat here again if we were in the area and I was in a hotdog mood... But I wouldnt go out of my way to eat here.

"All I wanna do is lay on the beach and eat hotdogs." -Kevin Malone This is a quote I live by. While I'm sitting at my desk on a Monday this is what I'm thinking about. Well since I live in a landlocked state this dream does not become reality very often but now that I have found UHDC I can escape to a place of pure hot dog bliss, even without the beach. We went in on the weekend before St. Patrick's Day and I couldn't help myself and ordered the "not" dog. I know, I know, before you get up in arms about me not getting an actual hotdog hear me out! Fresh battered fried cod, in a perfectly toasted bun with coleslaw, pickle spear, and topped with siriacha aioli.... I just couldn't say no. The owner told us it took many tastings to find the perfect cod. He said he ended up going with the pricier one but it was worth it. I am not new to fried fish and this was one of the best pieces I've had. I could see that not only did Matt have creativity and passion but also had attention to detail and quality. My husband had the Guinness brat, sour kraut. It was simple and fantastic. Perfect flavor profile. The brat shined. For price reference most of the dogs on the menu are around 4-5$ my special "not dog" was 6$ I believe which I had no problem paying since I was having a perfect piece of fish:): I can't wait to go back and try every single dog on their menu. It is so hard not to get the special's every time. You really cannot go wrong with whatever choice you make. What a wonderful establishment Matt has brought to us. He was gracious and helpful. He let us know they are working on getting a food truck out there as well as another location in ABQ. I also saw their website that they have a hotdog on the menu that will benefit people with cystic fibrosis. That is so wonderful! I completely support this business and am very excited to follow their future endeavors in the 505!

I enjoyed my 1st visit to Urban hot dog company. The atmosphere was laid back and very clean. The owner and service was great. This was my 2nd lunch today so I only tried one dog. The rising sun had good flavor that went very well together. The all beef hotdog was very good quality. I will return to try the Italian and the award winning fries. Thank you for the friendly service.

I was craving a got dog and didn't even know this place was around. I'm sure happy I found it though. Great food and very reasonably priced I ordered the NYC and the chilie can queso fries and they were fabulous. I look forward to coming back.

Urban dog is top notch. The fries are crispy and awesome. The queso dip is another winner. We got two dogs and both the starter dog and the jive were excellent. The food was fresh and the service was great too. I would recommend this place for some good eats.

We've been here a couple times now and have always left extremely happy. The service is always fantastic, much like the food. It's a bit hidden, location wise, but well worth dipping behind the mall. Our favorites are the Bahn Mi and and Le Bleu dogs, but we haven't had anything we didn't like.
