I would have given them 3 stars but unfortunately we just happened to pick the wrong day to try this place for the first time. I read the reviews ahead of time and decided we had to try it. After our experience I have to disagree, it is definitely NOT the best brunch spot in Albuquerque. I won't name names but there are at least a half dozen restaurants within 2 miles that are exceptionally better. The food was good enough and the service was okay. I ordered the huevos rancheros, and later settled for the french toast. It was noon and they were out of just about everything. Had we not already paid before finding out we wouldn't be receiving what we ordered, we would have gone elsewhere. The real kicker was that after being told I'd have to pick another menu item, my only options all cost less than what we had already paid. I would have expected them to offer something for their mistake. The french toast was fine, nothing special and definitely not enough for a fulfilling breakfast. My other half settled for the Kentucky brown because they were also out of his first choice. They had to substitute his bacon. We were both still hungry when we left. I could maybe be swayed to try them again.

Potential , but if they keep running out of food at prime times its going to be difficult for them. I understand they get fresh local food, props to them on that. But running out of nearly half the menu items is just not smart. So many people walked away while I watched , because they had No eggs, No sausage, No duck, and No waffles or french toast? Id give it another chance. But feel like they need to get their act together, really, running out of vital ingredients during peak times is just bad business and planning. Just either get here super early or be prepared to have your hopes dashed.

Located in the "triangle" off of Monte Vista in the Nob Hill Area, this quaint little eatery is quite the treat. Approach the counter, place your order, have a seat & your food is delivered to you. Table. Booth. Or high bar. All are great spots to munch out. The menu ranges from breakfast, to lunch, to lite bites & more. For me I opted in for the Duck Confit (duck prepared in its own fat, what a yummmmmy duck that was!!!). It came with either chips or a side salad, I opted for the latter. And I WAS NOT disappointed. I was supposed to take a picture, but I don't think you guys wanted to see a picture of an empty plate as that's all that was left after I devoured it all. I was pleased with the appearance of the food, the cost, the staff and the overall feel of "The Shop". I have plans to return, because there are a few more things on the menu I'd love to try.

I have been here several times since they opened and it had been consistently good every time with a slightly better experience each time. The menu is full of excellent choices with a slight twist on some of the breakfast classics (as seems to be the trend these days). The ingredients are always fresh and we'll prepared and the menu seems to always have new and creative additions with daily specials to boot! Today's specials were the sausage breakfast sandwich and bread pudding french toast. I opted for the sandwich and the sausage was deliciously sweet. It was accompanied by a beautiful salad adorned with colorful radishes slices of all shapes. Exceptionally detailed for a side salad!! We definitely be back again and again!

The Shop was a nice little find while debating on what to have for breakfast one morning. (I've been craving shrimp and grits since I arrived at ABQ and everywhere I've been the portioning hasn't been right.) The Shop is quite local, is in a nice locale, has friendly people working, a nice decor, and though the prices are on the mid to high end for breakfast. It can be worth it. My coffee, for the life of me I can't remember what I had, but it was delicious and well prepared. There play on shrimp and grits was decent. Although, the young waitress asked if I'd like hot sauce (Chalula, yes please, my favorite), but DON'T DO IT! In my opinion it was better without the addition of said hot sauce. All and all, The Shop is a legit breakfast spot. It's local, in an ideal location, has a nice setting, and more importantly good people. I'll be be back, but when my bank roll is a little thicker..., as they say. Whomever they may be.

Been here twice. Had the shrimp and grits - great - once and the duck confit sandwich the other time. Both were excellent and plenty to eat. This is probably the best sandwich place in ABQ now. My wife had the Qbano which she loved. The yellow mustard on it isn't my favorite but guess that's traditional on Cubanos so .... For those who complain about the cost of the chilaquiles, they usually don't come with steak, they normally come with shredded chicken or just an egg. Steak adds to the cost and, believe it or don't, if a restaurant doesn't recover its costs by pricing properly, it'll go out of business. You can't really make up your losses on volume. I personally wouldn't care for steak with chiliquiles so wouldn't order it (and because it's too expensive). I'd much rather have it with chicken than accompanied by steak. If you think it's too expensive, just don't order it; no need to carp about it on Yelp. And yes, they're trying to do something different here, which is good. Don't complain about places being different. Who wants the same old crap rehashed? At least they don't automatically load everything up with red or green chile like just about every other breakfast place in New Mexico. My wife had the bacon mac once and it was great and lots of it. Most of the mac and cheese we've had in ABQ has been nearly inedible but excellent here. This place deserves to be much busier that it was when we were there but we've gone pretty close to their 3 p.m. closing time.

My favorite Philly hands down. Just wish it came with more salad, but definitely worth checking out!

Y'all get ready for The Shop! From the central location to the chalkboard menus to the corrugated walls this place is super cute and welcoming. The folks who work here are super nice and take great care of you. But - I hear you asking - what about the food?? Well let me tell you! Fabulous shrimp and grits! The boys at The Shop aren't afraid to let the grits just be delicious on their own, not smothered in cheese (which I like too!). The shrimp were wonderful and the bacon lardons and egg were perfect. A plain old buttermilk waffle is fantastic, with plenty of butter and real maple syrup. But the crowning jewel is the chicken and waffle. I'm from Mississippi and the chicken these guys fry up rivals anything I are back home Get over to The Shop ASAP for a terrific meal in the heart of town.

So good. Just eat here. Had breakfast - The Americana and French Toast. Real quality ingredients prepared perfectly. They have fresh organic juice and really tasty coffee (choice between dark and light roast [had the dark])

So I am stranded in ABQ for a few days and decided to check out some local joints while here. I was in the area and The Shop looked like a good find, tucked away in a small strip mall amongst other small stores. I got the Chilaquiles and a cup of coffee, just under $20. This is cheaper than I would see back home in NYC, but it seems expensive for this area. So traditionally, (or at least the way I have always had them) Chilaquiles are a way to use up stale tortillas by soaking them in a salsa like puree of tomatillos, roaster peppers onions and other goodies. These Chilaquiles were soaked tortilla chips, and the salsa they soaked them in was a bit dense. I am not sure how they were prepared, but they were served thicker than my beans. I could cut them with a fork and knife and they would retain the knife edge. To me, this sounds like it was probably soaking for far too long. They also lacked any real flavor. I could not taste onions or cilantro, anything other than a basic salsa. With the tortillas came a nice little steak and a couple of eggs on top. The steak was not the best quality meat, was overcooked and thin, but was seasoned excellently. The best part of the meal was whatever peppery southwest flavors they put into the steak seasoning. The egg was fine, it's pretty tough to make an egg poorly. Coffee was alright, better than I expected. The ambiance was strange, a little industrial and a little too barren. I don't have much experience going out in this area, but it didn't match the warmth of the city, area or menu, and felt a little like a stripped down Chipotle. I went during brunch time on a saturday and only saw about 20% of the tables taken. I was a bit disappointed here and wouldn't come back if in the area, but I have pretty high standards. If the rest of my ABQ trip proves to be along the same lines, I will come back and give these guys a star boost, but my two star review stands now as The Shop would not make it in NYC... if that means anything to you.

Great little hole in the wall. Polite staff and yummy food. A little pricy for breakfast but it is a great way to support local and organic cuisine.

Stick with lunch. They were out of pretty much all breakfast/brunch items when we came in at 11am. Kentucky Hot Brown was ok, my friends huevos rancheros was not as expected. Red/green chile was more sweet than spicy. MORE SWEET than SPICY. CHILE should not be sweet, at least in my opinion. French toast had an aftertaste. The saving grace was their lemon cornmeal pancakes. Pretty good! Coffee was warm, not hot. This place tries well, service was great but has lackluster food, especially breakfast. Maybe if they had more breakfast items stocked, my experience may have been better. I do hear their lunch is good. Hopefully, better luck next time.

I like what great breakfast options we have in Albuquerque. This is an order at the counter place. Coffee was good. Service was friendly. My 'Kentucky Brown' dish (savory french toast, gravy, eggs, lots of meat) was very good and an interesting combination. Will definitely repeat.

This is your new brunch spot. Really my review could end there, but since some people need to be convinced... My wife and I had been meaning to try this place since we saw it. We finally got there earlier this week and we're hooked! They've done a good job making this kinda-hole-in-the-wall location seem bright and modern. Walking to the back where the counter is, you're presented with a chalk board with their simple-but-delicious menu. There are breakfast, lunch and salad options, all of which looked very good. I ordered my "vegan rancheros" (huevos rancheros w/o eggs and cheese) and asked if they could do some sauteed mushrooms. The woman at the counter was happy to do so and offered avocado as well. What came out was pure heaven: blue corn tortillas covered with whole black beans, perfectly cooked potatoes, red chile, tomatillo salsa (a nice departure from green), mushrooms and a perfectly ripe avocado. Every once in a while I have a meal that almost brings a tear to my eye; this was one of those meals. My wife got one of their sandwiches which she said was very good as well. They even do their own potato chips which were awesome. Like I said: this is your new brunch spot. Period.

Just had lunch here and it was a perfect sized NM cheesteak sandwich with awesome homemade chips and fantastic tea infused with something I didn't hear because I'm getting old and don't hear so well anymore... Or maybe I just wasn't paying attention Hands down one of the best sandwiches I've had for lunch in Abq in a long time I had breakfast the other day... Ditto the awesomeness Ok... The place is simple in appearance but good food comes first and it warms my heart to see people succeed at an endeavor that ain't easy. Keep it up :)

This restaurant has potential. The ambiance is nice, good coffee, easy parking. However, they really need to add a vegetarian option to the menu and subbing avocado for meat is just not comparable. They do not have one vegetarian egg dish on the menu. My mom had shrimp and grits said it was delicious. Wish I could have eaten.... and not french toast or eggs and avocado.

Why do so many ABQ restaurants try so hard to be upscale? I had lunch at this new spot a few days ago for lunch and think it could improve in a few areas. Good: -Friendly, fast service. -Free cucumber water was refreshing. -Great flavors from the Cubano sandwich and side salad. Bad: -Parking in this shopping center sucks. If your car is wider than a Fiat, you might have trouble squeezing into a spot. -Poor ventilation in the kitchen made the dining room very smoky. Ugly: -Prices were definitely steep. $15 for chilaquiles is downright offensive! -Serving sizes were tiny. While the Cubano sandwich was tasty, there wasn't nearly enough meat. Same goes for for the side salad, which was lightly dressed and tasty, but way too small. I would definitely go back if I could get more bang for my buck.

Drove by this place all the time and finally decided to give it a shot. Food was great! I got the Duck Hash and my girlfriend got the Americana. Both were delicious and plenty of food! Pretty reasonable price for Nob Hill.

Soooooo good! Had the eggs Benny- fantastic! Was surprised by the sausage instead of the typical ham for Eggs Benedict, but it was perfect. Definitely go here!

Some days they're a hit, some days not really. Get here early. 3.7 Decided to go with the Chorizo (bacon) & Egg Torta today. Unfortunately I got here pretty late after breakfast and lunch on Sunday so many of the menu items were out of the necessary ingredients, as I believe they replenish their stores on Monday when closed. After ordering and paying for the sandwich, they realized there wasn't any chorizo left, so they humbly offered to substitute bacon for me. I still really enjoyed my sandwich, which was extremely fresh tasting, and the mixed greens side salad was definitely the shrubbery I needed to go with all the protein and carbs of the torta. The coffee is very good here. I love the relaxed vibe, nice Motown music selection, and they supply plenty of reading material (newspapers) if you're eating alone. Staff is friendly and I feel bad for the inventory struggles they deal with. I give this visit 3 stars because of the available selection and mix up on what ingredients they had. My last time was a solid 4 when I ordered the huevos rancheros, but I was here on a Saturday with full menu selection.

Every dish I've tried here has been excellent, I am very excited about this place. I vow to try all menu items. It's a little strange that a breakfast place doesn't open until 8am. And the parking can be a hassle during lunch. But all of it is worth the effort. Go. Shrimp & Grits ***** Portabella Sandwich ***** Chilaquiles ***** Hot Brown **** Carne Adovada Torta ***** Pork Belly Sandwich *****

Just got back from a great brunch at The Shop. I had initially been hesitant about trying it- the prices are high, and there are few vegetarian options. But I'm very glad I visited! They offer a 15% discount for students, which put the meal into the "expensive but doable" category. A splurge in every sense of the word; my fried green tomato sandwich was truly rico. Creme freche and goat cheese spread onto bread soaked with butter, with avocado for good measure, and, of course, the blue corn battered juicy green tomato. The side salad was good, and I really appreciated that the greens were varied in color and crunch. I understand that The Shop is going for a very indulgent menu, but that doesn't mean that vegetarians don't like to indulge! I would really love to see more menu items and specials that are meatless. The Shop- it's like The Grove, but more butter, less attitude, and none of the crazy.

Now that The Shop's been humming along for a few months, I think we can at least reconsider the long-running theory concerning why business after business in this triangle mall fails: location. Chocolate havens, comic book bastions, a beach-themed restaurant (which was awesome, so sorry to see you go, Bailey's), so many great places have gone ashes-to-dust. Judging from my last two visits to The Shop, I'm wondering otherwise. Here's a thought: give the college students what they want, and they will indeed come. In droves. We tried to eat at this place one Sunday around noon. The girl at the register grabbed a menu and circled, in red marker, all of the stuff they'd run out of. Two-thirds of the offerings were off limits. "We didn't expect... this" she gestured, peering out at a completely packed dining room. Neither did I. Front to back, every table filled. We decided to hit up Amore next door, which was unfortunately closed. We returned on Tuesday and found bliss. Two meals for each sammie (these are baguettes, solid, with plenty between the buns), the Cuban was eh, pretty good, the carne adovada torta exceptional. No wonder this place is a huge hit for students. I can't wait to try the breakfast options. Service is counter-side, you order and they bring 'em. Here's a tip headache, for sure: do you tip? How much? I totally wanted to tip 'em but they're not, you know, waiting on you. Should you tip? I dunno. Especially when half the menu isn't available. So whatever. This place is really awesome, the food delivers big time. Artisan. Fun. Popping with energy.

Wasn't sure how this would go. Saw some of my friends liked it and others didn't. We're not down in the Nob Hill area usually for breakfast, but this time we were and I've got to say I was really pleased. Yes, it's a little hipster, but I can get over that easily by bribing me with some french toast. I plan on bringing out of town guests here, to wait in line, find a little beat up looking table and eat some great breakfast. My husband got the chorizo biscuits and gravy. They were so yummy. Perfectly seasoned and runny eggs, spicy, saucy and goodness. I am super partial to french toast. I've got a waffle maker at home, I can whip up some pancakes, but the french toast is really all about the bread, and I never seem to be able to nail that, so I like to have some good french toast when I go out. I really enjoyed this dish and it had some nice fresh fruit, butter, syrup the usual. But tasty and I even took home a slice for later. I also got a side of two eggs. Scrambled. Man were they delicious! I don't know why, but they were really really good. I thought, yea scrambled, easy. No flair, no fanciness. Oh no, I can't even tell you the flavor they had. I'm not sure how they do it. But I want more as I write this and it's 3pm. Would have liked the option of some decaf coffee. Only the full-leaded variety served.

Great place for breakfast and sandwiches. The Shop has a lively, local vibe. Although they were out of their buttermilk pancakes, my friend assures me that the wheat alternative was quite good. I had the duck confit sandwich with a side salad, and it was just as tasty as all the other reviews made it out to be. Bonus: There's a student discount and a free zine "edible: Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Taos" detailing local food, markets, and restaurants in the area.

I stopped by The Shop hopeful to find a new lunch favorite, based on the previous reviews. The space is cool, feeling freshly repurposed and hip. Given the location right next to UNM, I was slightly concerned that they would be busy at the lunch hour, but that fear was quickly consoled as I realized that I was the only customer at 11:30. First, the menu is limited. A respectable breakfast/brunch spread is offered, but the lunch options are limited to sandwiches and a few salads - no entrees, which was a bit surprising. I shelled out $12 for the Chicken Brick sandwich accompanied by salad greens and a blue corn cookie - this was not a surprise, as other Yelpers have previously noted the price point. I opted for water, and appreciated that they offered cucumber-infused water in addition to regular. I waited a few minutes and the sandwich emerged. Always one to tackle the salad first, I at once noticed the delicious flavor of the dressing (house lemon parsley, I believe) and the peculiarly small portion size. Next, the sandwich: the chicken itself was tasty and well-cooked, albeit greasy; the sandwich toppings were yummy but the bread itself - a hoagie-style bun - was tough and gave me the sense that some other bread company had baked it a day or two earlier. It appears that the same dressing used on the salad had also dressed the sandwich - a clever move, because that dressing is a winner. The sandwich and salad was alright, pretty good, but nothing spectacular. The price for a lunch at The Shop competes with local favorites like The Grove, but the flavor, presentation, and overall experience was not enough to woo me from my addiction to the East Downtown eatery. Before this review sounds too negative, let me emphasize the high points of my visit: the space is peaceful and includes free wifi, perfect to have a working lunch and get something accomplished. Or just relax, if that's what you're into. The outdoor seating is gated and has dog bowls - that's always cool. I tried their Blue Corn Cookie, which needs to be capitalized because it's fantastic. If it was less than $1.50, I would return every day and eat that cookie. I would buy all of them and have a private collection in my home. For now, I'll settle for the occasional indulgence - and you should definitely give it a shot for yourself, if you find yourself in The Shop.

This new addition to Nob Hill's culinary scene has been received with open arms. I never thought there would be a place that could replace the Chocolate Cafe (previous restaurant at The Shop's location ), but I have been continually impressed by each experience I've had do far! Their breakfast spread is beyond impressive, the biscuits with Chorizo gravy is a must try if you get there in time (often sells out! ). They always have a great roast for those coffee lovers out there. My girlfriend and I just split the chicken fried and the duck confit sandwiches, absolutely mouth watering, incredible flavor served with a side of home made paper thin potatoe chips that melt in your mouth!

They were closing up an hour early and turned us away. I feel like this is why many of the mom and pop shops don't make it in ABQ. We drove from the Heights to support a local business and now we won't be back. If you have posted hours you should stay open for them.

The Shop is located in a rinky dink shopping center, off the rinky dink part of Central, in the rinky dink Nob Hill. I was excited to try The Shop, not only because I had read so many reviews, the pictures looked delicious, but also because my brother said the food was awesome. He has yet to steer me wrong. Although he wasn't wrong, persay, I still feel like The Shop needs to get some things figured out before I can return. My SO and I woke up early on Sunday in hopes to get all of our weekend shopping done before noon. We decided the best way to do this was to go out for breakfast, much to my dismay, because I'm used eating breakfast sandwiches on my couch curled in my fuzzy blanket on the weekends, but I sadly put my pants on and got ready for our morning out on the town(oh my god I feel so old). When we walked into The Shop the sun was shining, my stomach was growling, and the birds were nowhere to be found, because it's winter. However, the minute we opened the door the sunshine was sucked away into the vacuum of what was now a smoke house. Someone had definitely burnt something(which surprised me later...). As I fought my way through the smokey abyss, I could feel the eye of Sauron clawing closer and closer to my soul, the only thing I could think was, 'damn you Ben, I knew I should've eaten my breakfast sandwich instead!" Alas, I made it to the register and quickly looked over the menu, because we all know that I routinely look at menus for funsies. I settled for a latte and biscuits with chorizo gravy, poached eggs, and avocado. I had some hope in my belly that maybe, just maybe, these were the biscuits I had been looking for. The cool part about The Shop is when you order coffee they ask you if you would like regular milk OR almond milk. "Cool, I want almond milk, because milk does bad things to my stomach", I thought then realizing I had ordered biscuits and gravy which were going to destroy my insides later anyways. We sat as far away as possible from the smokey kitchen and settled on a table in the sun. The wait wasn't terribly long, but this is no McDonalds drive thru. When the server brought my food the plate appeared to be steaming, I was excited looking down at my biscuity, gravy, eggy, avocado mush that I dove right in. However, this is the shocking part, my food was cold. Like, not out of the freezer cold, but still cold. When I tasted the strange man with me's waffle, it was also cold. I'm not entirely sure what they were burning in the kitchen, but I think I would've preferred that temperature over cold biscuits and gravy. I can only describe the taste of my gravy as being light... Now, when I say this I don't even really know what I mean. It wasn't heavy like some of my favorite white gravy that has the power to bend your fries in half and would suffocate a city with ease. It was like frothy steamed milk, with a very light chorizo flavor? I just don't even know... The biscuits were fine, a little darker on the bottom than I prefer, and a little too crumbly. The eggs, however, were perfectly poached little balls of happiness, and I could eat avocados by the handful. Overall, I'm left feeling confused about my experience. I, personally, feel I wouldn't pay 20+ again for cold breakfast. I also feel like this place has potential. It has awesome-looking menu items that could become some of my favorites. I will obviously try this place again, and hopefully the kitchen isn't on fire, and my food is.

Horrible horrible horrible!!!! I would not recommend it to anyone or EVER go back. They were out if most items on the menu. We ordered and paid for our food and right after we say down the girl came out and told us they were out of one of the items we ordered. We ordered an item that cost $15 and ended up with an item that was $7.50. At no point did they offer to refund us the difference in money or even acknowledge this. I ordered a chi tea latte and was informed they were out if milk and she thought someone was going to go buy some but didn't know when. She offered to make it with soy or almond milk. I asked for almond milk. When it was brought to me it tasted watered down like it came out of a insTang packet. I sent it back and it came back just as bad. The menu is way overpriced, the food is mediocre at best and I would recommend don't waste your gas or money at this place!

This is one of several newer places that my husband and I tried on our trip to Albuquerque last year that convinced me that we should move there. We had breakfast and lunch and everything we had was delicious. And imagine our surprise when the chef actually delivered the food to our table fresh and hot right after he carefully prepared it! I know this place is tucked away in a bit of a strange spot, but I'm hoping even more people will give it a try so that it stays in business for a long time. The guys in the kitchen really know what they are doing (and the latte was great too which is a big plus for me). Fresh ingredients creatively prepared in totally satisfying generous portions. Kudos to the chefs and Long live The Shop!

Qbano was really yummy! Tender pork and fresh bread. Carne adovada torta was very good, tender pork and tasty red chile. This place is a keeper!! Can't wait to come back to try their breakfast. Don't get fooled by the outside, go in and enjoy really good food.

My SO had been telling me about this place since we moved to ABQ. Since it next door to UNM he frequents it during the week. We finally got the chance to go for brunch one Saturday morning. Knowing it was dog friendly we also brought along our pup, Peter. The three of us sat outside and enjoyed the breeze while eating good food. I had the chorizo and egg torta and he had the chilaquiles. The torta was incredibly rich. I had a difficult time finishing it because of that but it was delicious. The staff was nice and helpful and we didn't struggle with finding parking. I'm sure we will be back soon.

We got there at 12:30 on a Sunday and they were out of enough ingredients that they couldn't serve nearly their entire breakfast menu or any sandwiches (they were out of bread), so we got a salad. People who ordered after us got their food first, and one of the groups seemed to be friends with the staff. It took a long time for the salad to get there, I don't remember how long, but long enough for me to ask about the status of our salad's, which is something I rarely do. The salad was pretty good, which is why I gave two stars instead of one. Based on previous reviews, this isn't the first time that they ran out of ingredients, hopefully they can make adjustments so that it doesn't happen again.

I never say this. In fact, I'd roll my eyes if I heard anyone say something like this. But dead seriously: The duck confit sandwich is to die for. I know, I know. I mean it though. Duck is the kind of thing that can get screwed up and when it does it's inedible. I've had this sandwich so many times already (it's kind of embarrassing how many times)... I've had a few other things on the menu- the mac with chorizo, the raspberry-lemon homemade pop tart, etc- everything has been good, clever takes on familiar dishes that aren't crazy for the sake of crazy but are more like the, "why doesn't every place do this? Why didn't I think of this?" kind of inspirations that keep what is good about a dish but simply add to it- little changes that make sense and are done well. And there has always been leftovers. ...but that duck was life-changing. There isn't much else in the area (or the town) that hit these kinds of spots, so it comes in really handy in those, "where do you want to go? I dunno, where do YOU want to go?" situations. I wish they had longer hours- I'd love to see what they did with dinner. I long thought this was a "cursed location" as I've seen plenty of fine places come and go in that same spot (and likewise with next door). But please, please let this place stick around... I don't think you understand: I NEED THAT DUCK. DON'T GET BETWEEN ME AND THAT DUCK, OR ELSE.

The menu was eclectic, the food was delicious and fresh, and the staff was friendly and prompt. I had the chicken brick sandwich, which was an impressive pile of nom-nom, served with a mountain of homemade chips (non-nom). Can't wait to go back and try some more.

Horrible! Had the chilaquiles and huevos rancheros- both dishes were centeres around soggy and tasteless tortilla chips. The steak on the chilaquiles was good as was the Mexican coke. Even the black beans lacked flavor. Don't waste your time and money here, there are much better options close by in Nob Hill.

Awesome food and atmosphere. Had the steak Mac and cheese, duck confit salad and Qbano sandwich for myself and my wife. Everything was cooked perfectly. Coming back again!

Fresh, fresh, fresh! I cannot begin to tell you how fresh their ingredients are. My order was the duck confit sandwich with a side salad. The duck itself was a bit dry but still edible while the bread and salad (just a bit too much vinaigrette) were good. I came in right before they ran out of ingredients and they were about to close for their 1 week summer break. I will come back for more! Tips: - Hot sauces: siracha and tapatio - Free water. Pour yourself some water in the front next to the cashier. - Local magazines available near the front door - Can pay cash or credit - Don't forget your table number after you order - You can leave your dishes on the table after you've finished

The menu was eclectic, the food was delicious and fresh, and the staff was friendly and prompt. I had the chicken brick sandwich, which was an impressive pile of nom-nom, served with a mountain of homemade chips (non-nom). Can't wait to go back and try some more.

Came in for brunch today and easily found a table on the little patio in front. My boyfriend and I ordered the Shrimp and Grits, Brusels style Waffle, and a Dulce de Leche Latte. The food didn't take long despite the nearly full house inside. The Dulce de Leche Latte was tasty- flavorful but not overly sweet. The waffle was perfectly cooked and delicious- a little crispy on the outside, but not dry. I would have liked a few more berries on top for the price of the plate- I think I counted 4 blackberries and 4 raspberries total. The Shrimp and Grits tasted fresh and the shrimp was cooked appropriately- not rubbery. The portion size for the price of this plate was adequate, as well. I'm excited to come back and try their Fried Green Tomato Sandwich!

Delicious! Funky little spot. Had the "Qbano", fried green tomato sandwich and chorizo Mac-n-cheese. All were very good. Side salad was delightful too, with a great tangy house-made dressing. We will definitely be back!

we showed up on Sunday at 1pm, which in my mind is a pretty normal time for a young person to eat brunch on a Sunday, but not in ABQ, and not at this joint. We walked in and were greeted by the back of the guy behind the counter, who said they'd closed at 1. "but the door says 3pm" i said. then in a very condescending (think Regina George in Mean Girls) he says, 'we actually put a sign on the door that says we close at 1, so we're closed, its one, and we ran out of everything today so yeah" He was so rude and so mean, and I can't believe a restaurant runs out of EVERYTHING...even eggs and tortillas?!?! what?? I'm sorry, was it my fault you ran out of food? Did i not order enough from the farmers? Did I eat everything? no, so don't act like i'm an absolute idiot walking into your place that closes at 3...just APOLOGIZE for running out of everything and say "maybe next weekend, we'd love for you to join us" I've had their food at work when we get catering, and it was good, but their service is whack, i won't be going into their "shop" ever again.

Just ate a huge awesomely cooked coffee rubbed rib eye. The scrambled eggs and black beans were prepared perfectly. And my favorite tasting food was underneath it all.. Corn tortilla chips lightly smothered in Red chili :) . Smiling staff is plus!

I got the huevos rancheros, which comes with green and red chile, and is beautifully plated, considering it's huevos rancheros, which I think we can all agree does not generally lend itself to the pinnacle of food presentation. Very well seasoned potatoes complete the dish (my pet peeve is under-salted potatoes; who wants to eat a no-salt potato like they're on a post-stomach flu diet?) Competitive pricing, modern/industrial decor. Definitely recommend.

This place is a little bit of magic tucked away off the Nob Hill strip. In the same lot as the previous 'Bailys on the beach' The Shop is the best breakfast place in ABQ I have run across. The laid back atmosphere, (family and pet friendly) mixed with fabulous renditions of breakfast favorites make The Shop great for an early morning bite or a late lunch. Not feeling breakfast? get one of their fresh salads or eclectic sandwiches with house made chips! The staff is incredibly friendly & always happy, making the experience completely enjoyable. Must haves include the chicken & waffles, chilaquiles with coffe/cumin rubbed ribeye or the Qbano sandwich with roster garlic aioli, gruyere cheese & a house made pickle! I am excited to continue to explore the menu and see what's these chefs can do!

My wife and I are always on the look out for a new good breakfast place. Found it! This is our second visit to The Shop for breakfast and the food quality, service and creativity are awesome. My wife gives a big thumbs up for the chorizo and egg torta which is not your momma's torta. Really well spiced and the black beans ( yep black beans) were house made. I tried something called the Kentucky Hot Brown which was a cross between French toast and eggs con Queso. Very creative and delicious. We also tried their version of eggs Benedict and I had their basic eggs, sausage and potatoes. A "solid choice" said the wait staff. Actually, the star were their breakfast potatoes, soft inside and crunchy outside without greasiness. The presentation for the eggs Bennie was creative and their version was homemade biscuit versus English muffin. Coffee comes in both light and dark, both high quality. We also tried a hot cake which like every thing else quite tasty, nice crunch on the exterior. The Shop has other nice touches such as good grade silverware and cloth napkins. Family friendly. Wi Fi. Just a real nice place you hope makes it in the very competitive Albuquerque restaurant scene.

Awesome Eggs Benny! I've been there twice now and the second time was fabulous. The first time I had the huevos rancheros which were good but the chile was not hot enough for me. I did have there dirty chai which by far is the best I've had, not too sweet which I am really thankful for! My friend ordered French Toast with fresh fruit on it and it was amazing. This 2nd time I had the Eggs Benny with a side salad, it was excellent and I mean really really good. I then had a bite of my friends meals both really good The Americana came with fresh jam for the toast and the Kentucky Hot Brown was fabulous!! Defiantly worth the money!

Great new spot for breakfast and lunch in the University area. The chef seems to be trying to make food that is fresh and a few notches above the chile-cheese-drenched plates you find all over town. Interesting daily specials, good coffee, nice staff.

Decent option. I dig the decor, open design. Unique options for ABQ breakfast/lunch, we had chorizo torta & shrimp n' grits (it came w eggs - needed seasoning). The kids had breakfast sandwich & chorizo Mac n cheese. The highlight for me was the fresh salad and side of fruit. The chorizo dishes were pretty yummy too. Good, strong coffee. Service was a little offstandish, but I've come to expect it. I'll stop back in to try some more of that menu though - fo sho!

It's been 2 days since we ate here and I cannot stop thinking about the duck confit sandwich. I'm obsessed. It was seriously the best sandwich I've ever had...and that includes the 6 weeks I once spent shamelessly eating my way through Paris. I've already decided that I'm going tomorrow and having THAT SANDWICH. I can see this becoming a problem.

I like what great breakfast options we have in Albuquerque. This is an order at the counter place. Coffee was good. Service was friendly. My 'Kentucky Brown' dish (savory french toast, gravy, eggs, lots of meat) was very good and an interesting combination. Will definitely repeat.

Came in the other day for lunch, and when I walked in...I wasn't really too excited. It was a large open space, and the smell of food didn't really hit my nose--which I sometimes think is crucial when deciding whether to order from a place or not. Regardless, I was already there and had only 30min of lunch break...so I went ahead and ordered a Chorizo torta. I wasn't too sure about this order because I was "watching what I ate." However, once i took the first bite of the greasy chorizo egg torta, I knew today would be an exceptionally delicious cheat day. The torta (or sandwich as some might call it), had deliciously scrambled eggs with Chorizo along with perfectly ripe avocados and a spicy mayo. It came with a salad as a side, which definitely made me feel less guilty. In all, I definitely recommend this place. There is plenty of space to sit, with plenty of sunlight. The staff is very friendly and the food is great. It might be ever-so-slightly over priced, but you have to try it at least once!

I'm pretty stingy with the five stars, but this place has earned it! It's a laid back breakfast and lunch eatery with an eclectic menu. Make sure to browse through the menus at the ordering bar since the chalkboard menu is a bit bare bones. The food is fantastic! I had the Egg Benny and loved the lemon oregano dressing that was on the salad greens. Atmosphere-wise, this place has the charm of a local "hole in the wall" without the dingy feel. Definitely recommend if you're from out of town!

I had breakfast (again) at The Shop on Saturday, 3/14. I had the lemon/cornmeal pancakes with fresh fruit, butter, and a tad of maple syrup...the real kind. I was beyond happy. They were hot, the edges were just a little crisp, they were cooked perfectly, and the lemon flavor came through with just the right touch. I don't go to a place like The Shop to be served within 10 minutes by a harried waitperson carrying plate after plate of hastily prepared food. I go there for the high quality food, the pleasant staff, and to support a local chef who had the chutzpah to open a restaurant in an always-tough business climate. I loved it. Try it.

A friend recommended The Shop for brunch but warned to go early since they sometimes run out of stuff. Unfortunately, he was right and 4/5 people in my party had to modify their order. Kind of annoying but the staff were great about suggestions and substitutions. (I do wish they crossed off what they were out of on the board to make it easier to order) The food we did get was pretty amazing. Lots of flavor and good presentation. The portions were also on the generous side so that is always a plus. So, overall, a solid meal. We'll certainly come back, though maybe a bit earlier next time.

Interesting, unfinished floors, with an industrial vibe which I'm wondering if intentional... neon green seems to be the theme, and I can get down with that. A happy friendly young man greeted us, pointed out the detailed menu and the two items they were out of, and let us have at it. I was grateful that unlike in other reviews, there were only two items they were without, one being a beet salad, yeck lol, no way I was ordering that anyways. :P We got the biscuits and chorizo gravy, which was recommended by a girl at Nosh who said, and I quote "the biscuits and gravy will change your life!" Soft biscuits with sliced avocado and poached eggs atop, then smothered with the chorizo gravy and red chile. Wow! An abundance of flavor - slightly spicy thanks to the chorizo and red chile, smooth and creamy with the avocado, and a hint of cilantro. The biscuits and eggs were cooked to perfection! I have to agree with the lass at Nosh... My life was certainly altered at least slightly after my first bite of those decadent Biscuits and Gravy. We also tried the French toast, which was topped with powdered sugar and surrounded by blackberries and raspberries. The maple syrup was tasty, the berries were a nice addition, and the center of the french toast was soft and yummy. The thing I didn't like was the crispy sides (I believe the bread used for the french toast was a very authentic and tough bread, and for me the sides were a bit too stiff... but I may just be one of those who prefer a softer french toast) - still, when all things considered, I liked it, but I wouldn't order it again. I probably would try the chicken and waffles in the future though... if you haven't checked out those photos, give 'em a looksie and try to keep your drooling to a minimum ;)

Ah-mazing! Local, organic, & humanely raised products. Great coffee & iced tea. My husband and I came for brunch and we both settled on the chorizo biscuits and gravy - the buttermilk biscuits were delicious, the gravy a little on the salty side, but still really good (kinda expected the saltiness bc it is chorizo). I also ordered the Mexican mocha SO GOOD. I can't wait to go back, I have a mental list of everything I want to try! Chicken and waffles I got my eye on you!!!! NomNom

What a delightful breakfast. Relaxed environment with highly thought out well developed food. ABQ needs more places like this. :) thank you!

Drove by this place all the time and finally decided to give it a shot. Food was great! I got the Duck Hash and my girlfriend got the Americana. Both were delicious and plenty of food! Pretty reasonable price for Nob Hill.

I loved it. Try it.

NomNom

Soooooo good! Had the eggs Benny- fantastic! Was surprised by the sausage instead of the typical ham for Eggs Benedict, but it was perfect. Definitely go here!

This place is a great little hole in the wall that you need to check out. I've been three or four times and I will definitely be going back. The food is delicious and the service is friendly with a chill atmosphere. I especially love the New Mexico Philly Cheesesteak.

Grilled peach salad is delicious, staff is fast and friendly. French toast was ok, my picky boyfriend enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros, which were somewhat hipsterfied, if the hipster had been to Oaxaca.

Super fresh, local, high quality ingredients at an affordable price! Staff are friendly and professional. This is my new favorite breakfast and lunch spot. I've tried most of the items on the menu and have yet to be disappointed! Do your self a favor, check out The Shop and support a new local business!
