My husband and I just had this great pizza last night. We were very impressed by how professional the guy was on the phone who took our order. The pizza was so good and just what we were hoping it would be. We now have our favorite go-to pizza place that is just down the road. Yay!

Fantastic pizza. I've only had it once, while visiting from out of town, but the Carnivore (minus ham, 2x pepperoni) is out of this world. The crust is great, as is the sausage they use. Just a really great pizza and service was very friendly. I also got a chocolate chip cannolo and it was great too. I can't speak to other ABQ pizza joints, but as far as I can tell, SUP is hard to beat.

Just tried Straight up pizza for the first time. We are from NY and my husband has been dying for Calzone. We got the Meaty Calzone & BBQ wings. They are awesome. I can't wait to try their pizza!

Why, oh why, did we only find this place two weeks before we're moving out of state? I've passed by it countless times but it looked so simple; it reminded me of the take-out places near colleges -- inexpensive, huge pizzas that aren't very good. WOW, was I wrong. We wanted pizza but were tired of Dion's and Whole Foods so I asked Yelp. Seeing "spicy marinara" as a menu option pretty much sold us and now we've been twice in three days. I totally agree with Christian, this place does, indeed, "put the crush on Dion's". Pizzas are a little pricey comparatively, but they have regular specials that are good deals. Everything is fresh and good, toppings are plentiful and evenly distributed. They even get the little things right, like using lots of small pieces of pineapple instead of the big chunks that other places use and dominate that particular bite. The spicy sauce is no joke; good stuff, but definitely hot. Their chipotle wings, on the other hand, were surprisingly tame, especially by comparison. Staff is super friendly and efficient. Can't comment on the delivery service as we did carryout both times, but I did notice they don't charge for delivery, which is nice. The interior is very simple. "Straight up" is right. Clean and bright with plenty of seating and a big TV for sports and that's about it. Oh, and the military bulletin board where locals can put up pictures of their servicemen and women. (The place is owned by a military family.) If we crave pizza again before we leave, this is definitely where we'll go.

Simply amazing pizza. We tried the Devil Dog pizza, and we're hooked. Go there!!

More people need to know about this place! Cause it is AWESOME. I consider myself somewhat of a pizza connoisseur, and this place is definitely comes in the top 3 for pizza in ABQ. Actually, probably in the southwest. Their pepperoni is FANTASTIC, and the fact that they offer a spicy sauce, I love (which, by the way, the sauce is delicious if you're into spicy stuff) The staff is super friendly, and the wait to get your pie is never too long. I like that their location is way closer to me now, although I wish their new location had a dining area. Oh well. It's so frikken deelish, if you haven't tried it yet, DO IT. You won't be disappointed.

I'd been experiencing mad cravings for good pizza for weeks when I saw the stellar Yelp reviews for SUP. I wanted to order a Chupacabra and my boyfriend wanted the Devil Dog--he won and we ordered an extra large Devil Dog for carry out. When we got there, they had accidentally made us a Chupacabra. They immediately made us a Devil Dog, refunded our payment, and gave us both pizzas on the house--so we both won! And boy did we win BIG TIME. We were so hungry by the time we got our pizza that we scarfed a piping hot slice immediately in the car on the way home. The pizza dough was chewy and crisp in all the right places, the cheese and toppings were fresh, flavorful, and plentiful, and the spicy marinara sauce was exceptional. My bf was right--the Chupacabra was yummy, but the Devil Dog was crazy delish. That aromatic roasted garlic, sweet & tart pineapple, smoky bacon, savory pepperoni, and spicy green chile is a killer combo! After getting such tasty pizza and great customer service, we are now faithful SUP customers. Next time, we're ordering an extra large Devil Dog with extra sides of spicy marinara! If you love pizza, you'll love SUP--JUST GO.

We've declared it the "Summer of Pizza" and are therefore trying pizzas all over town. So far we've tried Mario's, Pizza 9, and Little Caesars, and Straight Up Pizza was better than all of them so far! Our standard is either cheese or some combination of vegetarian toppings, and tonight we ordered a large cheese with regular pasta sauce (you can order it spicy) with mushrooms, roasted bell peppers, and hot hatch green chili on top! It was reeeeeeeeally good. There is only 1 slice leftover and we usually have 3-4 pieces left for lunch the next day on a large. All the toppings were cut into small pieces so that there was good consistency on each bite, and they even added some fancy spices on top of everything. It was one of those drives home that I nearly ate a piece of the pie before I arrived home to share with the fam. Next time we want to try the margarita pizza!

Yum yum yum! What a great find, tucked away in a grocery store parking lot. Ready for take out or delivery, their pizzas are hot, fresh, and SO DELICIOUS. The staff has a passion for what they do, and it's apparent in each bite. We enjoyed a margarita pizza, and it was better than anything I ever ate in Italy, that's for sure! As supporters of the military, they do provide a discount! Much appreciated. Will definitely be ordering from them again!

  • Rooftek R.

Ordered a Veg specialty with original marinara was very delicious. Very tasty with lots of toppings and fresh ingredients. Will definitely go back again and again. Bonus: we were given coupons with the take-out menu for our next order :)

  • Felipe L.

The pizza is good, very different in a good way, for this visit I had the Chupacabra, a fiery blend of Green chillies and fire roasted red chillies, with pepperoni and meatballs, the crust is good above average, the toppings plentiful, the cheese was a little bland though, 4 stars this time, need to try other nice combinations they had that looked interesting and unique nice place in a small shopping strip.

If you can make a delicious pizza with no cheese (my son is allergic), you make great pizza! You know what else? These guys care. They're the kind of people you want to give your business.

Back in my gluten glory days this was my favorite pizza place. The spicy sauce hits the spot. Unfortunately they don't have gluten free pizza, but I hope they'll get it soon...*hint hint* Awesome place, good service and on top of all that, they're local! Always nice to support fellow Albuquerquians. I'm surprised SUP isn't more popular; they definitely deserve the 5 stars.

My Husband really wanted pizza last night but were sick of the same old commercial pizza joints, so we turned to our favorite app when looking for some where to eat.... yep that would be yelp :) Straight up pizza was the place that stuck out to us and thats where we decided to go. Upon arrival we were a little taken a back to see it wasn't a sit down restaurant as we were planning to have a sit down meal, but my husband really wanted to give this place a try so we decided we would just get take out. We ordered the chupacabra in a 18inch and a 10 inch personal cheese only pizza, I waited in the car but my husband said the customer service was friendly and this place is extremely military friendly and they offer a military discount. I couldn't believe the size of the 18inch pizza box when my husband came out to the car with it and the smell was amazing, I couldn't help myself but lift up the lid and take a peek inside. I was instantly looking forward to getting home and my mouth was watering like crazy. The pizzas were amazingly good and my husband is a huge pizza snob so for him to say its one of the best pizzas he has ever had is a pretty big deal, all you heard at our dinner table was "ummmm", "yummmm" "this is really good" the meatballs were amazing and the spicy marinara sauce added a wonderful kick. The pizza was cooked to perfection and I really couldnt think of anything to complain about the toppings were generous. We don't exactly live close to this place but both my husband and I said it worth the drive so this will be our new pizza joint. We are super excited to try out the other pizzas on the menu....

Devil Dog is absolutely DELISH!! New to ABQ and been looking for a good go-to pizza joint...tried many but none that we found to be our go-to place....we found it now....thanks to Straight Up Pizza...just had our first of many pizza's from them. Great experience from nice gentleman taking my telephone order to pick up....we were greeted with kindness and smiles...very professional and they take pride in the pizza they create for our pleasure to devour.

Nice!! Ordered a pizza on the fly and brought it to Lizard Tail for karaoke night. Absolutely delicious with a double IPA! They also deliver. How can you go wrong? Great flavor. I'll definitely be ordering again. Thank goodness, finally some decent pizza in Albuquerque!

  • Varina K.

Ordered a supreme pizza from Straight Up for delivery. The employee who took our order and our delivery driver were extremely nice and our order arrived quickly. There were plenty of toppings, including thin sliced sausage that was very tasty. The crust was crisp on the out side and had a great chewy texture in the middle. The marinara sauce was also very good. Great choice for a non-chain option. We were very impressed!

  • Kristie A.

Found by accident and what a great and yummy accident it turned out to be ! We've been searching for the best pizza in Albuquerque and have now found it! Strictly carry out and delivery only allowing the place to focus on the pizza and the flavors showed it. Service was impeccable and owner even took the time to chat with us.

Love this pizza joint....Straight Up! The Devil Dog with spicy marinara is an amazing combination that includes green chile, bacon, roasted garlic, pepperoni and pineapple....try it, you'll like it! The BBQ Chicken pie rocks, too. Two 18" gourmet pizzas = Several delicious meals. Check out this Albuquerque gem in Eastdale!

This place is rockstar. We checked the reviews in the area after touching down and checking into a hotel. We saw nothing but absolutely positive feedback and thought that there's no way a restaurant could be that damned good and lo and behold, they lived up to their good reputation. I was impressed with the extra mile of making my chupacabra pizza much, much spicier and when we ordered it add mushrooms, there was LEGIT portions of toppings. Nothing about this place was mediocre. Even the delivery driver was great. We will definitely be making this one out staples whenever we are back around this way again in the future. Kudos, gents!!!!

My husband and I have ordered pizzas from Straight Up four times over the last six months and the pizzas have been consistently prepared and downright delicious. On one occasion, we ordered two large pizzas plus wings and a salad for a party, and our guests loved everything. We were kind of disappointed that there weren't any leftovers, to be honest. Our go-to pizza has been chicken, mushroom, and red pepper. It's held up remarkably well for next day reheating. :) I really like the texture of the crust, and the best part is that their pizzas are never greasy. In addition to great-tasting pizzas, you'll get great customer service. The staff taking phone orders are always clear and polite. We've mostly done pick-ups, and the pizzas are hot and ready when they say they will be. We're always greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. My only gripe is that they don't have a wheat crust option. This little detail won't prevent me from coming back. :)

Best carry out deal in town! I go here about every two weeks to pick up a pie and an never disappointed. Great crust, sauce, and toppings. Recommended.

Great to call a local pizza place and not get put on hold or try and tell me all the up sale specials..When I picked up the phone to call you I already know what I want and price.. The pizza was just as good as the first time I had it. Going to try the bread sticks next time.

  • Adam W.

It's good thin pizza. When we're ordering delivery we go with Straight Up. However, I made the mistake of getting the spicy marinara and it was awful. I love spicy, but this was just spicy with little flavor or taste buds left to taste the pizza. Otherwise everything's been great.

These guys are great! I didnt wanna go out for lunch so ordered my pizza at home from Grubhub. They have a minimum order of only $10 and no delivery fees on Grubhub which is really a good thing if you're on a budget. I only ordered for a 2 topping pizza (bell peppers and onions) with no meat and it was still great. The crust is just the right amount of crispy and soft and they werent stingy with the cheese. I would definitely order from here again

  • Le M.

First time and it was straight up delicious! Ordered a Devil Dog with a side of spicy marinara. They gave me extra regular sauce too on-the-house. I'm making this place my first choice for take-out pizza in ABQ

Update, I have Few more experiences with straight up pizza, Two with delivery of Calzones and two with with pick up of their Chupacabra pizzas. The calzones were perfect as usual. if you are wondering if the devil dog recipe will work and taste good, don't. Its so good and for a pizza dish you are getting a lot of tasty protein!! Same with the Chupacabra pie as well which has meatballs on the pizza as well as pepperoni, roasted red peppers, spicy Marinara and last but not least mexico green chile. It must be noted that I changed my order to not turn off the spicy phobic. I changed the spicy Marinara to their traditional Marinara and made it light sauce. I had to make sure the pizza was fine for a group that could only handle so much spice. The Pizza was perfect! And when I get to order it again I will not change the recipe as I do not have to serve it to folks that are not as used to chile as native new Mexicans are. For that matter, While Straight up Pizza has several spicy recipes, they know what their doing and do not go over the top. It is nothing to be afraid of as far as heat or spice. It's right in the medium pocket and a simple word one way or another will get your maker to adjust it however with no threat to its consistent quality. For me this a rare joint that has equal pull for both calzones and pizza and I normally tend toward calzones. Bottom line, is that for a pick up or delivery pizza place this place super tasty and amazingly consistent. Good, fresh ingredients terrific stock combo recipes that taste good every time, a very cooperative maker for setting up your own recipe. I can back that up as I typically riff on some of their more popular recipes making then hotter or less spicy depending. If you are hungry and want a calzone I still recommend the devil dog as its like a meat injected spicy Hawaiian because of pineapple and some green chile. But I trust Straight Pizza's consistency and ingredients enough that I am going to start building my own and getting adventurous pies. And I will update on the experience. My only caution is this is not little caesars pricing. Which means the ingredients are fresh and quality including the doe. The prices are fair too and if you are ex military they are even better. But again this is in what I consider the sweet spot or pocket. Its quality made, yummy to eat, casual food at a fair but not over the top cheap chain pricing. So if you complain that you paid 15 bucks plus tip for a really good pizza stick with little Caesars ad these guys are trying to make a living. This place has no pretense or excess glam that you are paying for. And again its pricing is even better if you are a military or ex-military my point is that while this place is super affordable, its not for the people wanting to pay little Caesars or Chucky Cheese prices and expect to get local from scratch with fresh ingredients pizza that is exactly as you like it. If you want to economize they have a variety of sizes and when you are older I find I can sometime restrain myself and turn their calzones into two portions. Last word, The prices are fair and the portions are generous. As I said I will update after I have experimented with my own recipes so I can report back on creative recipe pizza at Straight Up Pizza. This place is still one of the Albuquerque Elite one two punch of traditional hand tossed pizza along with one other place. And if you are in the heights the other place will not deliver. I will review the other place for the record, but I do not see either as competitive as both are great but and both are hand tossed but they have different twists and both places creations are top notch. Though I gotta say Straight up Pizza is So consistent it may out class it only other peer in consistency. The name still says it all as this place is just Straight Up Pizza! THAT IS REALLY REALLY GOOD. If you want super thin crust this not it. Its hand tossed which is mainstream pizza but most like thin to make sure they do not get bad doe or only doe. That will not happen here. This place cares about its product.

Top tier pizza. Can't go wrong with any of their pizzas. The spicy sauce is on point! If you are lucky enough to live in an area where they deliver, these guys should be at the top of your pizza list! If not, no worries, it's worth the drive.

  • Patrick L.

Was very excited to try, especially the chupacabra, based on the reviews. It was only okay. Certainly did not "feel the spice" in the sauce others have mentioned. Was a long drive from downtown for an average pizza at best.

First time trying them and we are impressed. They are very confident with what they sell and they have a good reason to be.The 18 in. Pizza we got tasted great. Good tasting mushrooms and spicy sausage. And customer service was excellent. We will be back again.

Decided to try the pizza place based on reviews had a one topping thin crust and a one topping hand tossed.... Yes the pizza box was light on the way out the door! The crust had a different texture and the spices on the crust made the pizza. Next time I'll have to try the loaded pizza with spicy marinara.

  • Ashley E.

OK, after having had the pizza from SUP many times now, I had to change my review. I've had a few different pies, but I tried the Devil Dog pizza and holy wow...SO freakin' GOOD! The bacon and roasted garlic take it up a notch and a half. It is a tad expensive, but it's worth it. I mean...I am now officially willing drive 20-30 minutes to get pizza there when I'm at home--It's that good. I am thinking about moving closer to this place just so I can have it delivered to me. Yeah...yum.

Great pizza and they were really nice! We had a pizza with pepperoni, olives, and meatballs with some hot wings and everything was ready in about 12 minutes. Definitely recommend it! There isn't anywhere to sit down but it's really quick to pick up or they also deliver.

Judgmental New Yorker here commenting on Straight Up's Chupacabra. To be completely frank it's not truly "New York" pizza. The crust is different and is more reminiscent of Pizza Hut style crust. But it is delicious. I was slightly concerned about how spicy the Chupacabra would be since they specifically refer to "hot" New Mexican chiles, which made me think about Barker's or something at the really hot end of the scale for this particular type of chile. I mean, these are New Mexicans saying something is hot not New Yorkers. It 's great but it isn't that hot on my scale. But it's just fine for me. It has a nice bite and it really adds something wonderful to pizza that's rare to find elsewhere where the chile of favor is usually the Jalapeno. There's nothing wrong with Jalapeno's on pizza, it's just that New Mexican chiles are better, particularly when you don't get to have them without traveling to New Mexico. The meats are fine and they make the wise decision to use roasted red peppers instead of raw. Much better. So it's great if you like a medium spicy level of heat as I do, but if you're the type of person who isn' happy unless there are tears in your eyes and you're looking around for the container of ice cream or other dairy, this won't be enough for you. But then nothing ever is, is it? Keep that bottle of habanero sauce handy, although I think that'll ruin the flavors. The spicy marinara should be a standard everywhere, and you will find some places that make pizzas with a spicy marinara. Very very good.

  • Ryan B.

Not the best pizza I have ever had but not the worst. Could be because we did delivery - it wasn't that hot when it got to us and the wings were a bit soggy. But the wing sauce was pretty good. I might try eating in/take out in the future.

Best pizza in the NE heights! The Devil Dog is my favorite pizza by far and I really like the Chupacabra as a calzone!

Big City Price but worth it! I ordered online and being out by the airport, delivery was not available so I made the drive which ended up being pretty much on the other end of town. The problem is my GPS ended up taking me to LIttle Ceasars and after calling the guys I learned it was within the strip mall but the signage was not that great. Considering they are number one on Yelp I feel this is the next step for them--to get a better sign! The guy at Little Ceasars had never even heard of these guys.. it's no wonder since you can't compare the pizza. I ordered a 12" and scarfed it down in one helping.. a thin crust but very fresh and tasted like home made. I would definitely recommend this as the go to pizza place in Albuquerque! (I was just passing through staying the night and found it on Yelp so I had no choice but to place my review!)

Awesome, cheap pizza! They have tons of deals on their website and deliver all over the place. Big, greasy, cheesy pizza. Great for parties and football night.

Awesome pizza! We had the Chupacabra and the Devil Dog - both were incredible!! Perfect blends of flavors! I don't normally like combination pizzas, but everyone else wanted to try them. Now I am totally sold! Can't wait to try their other combinations. I'd highly recommend Straight Up! Yummy!! Best pizzas ever!!!

This place rocks!! Been here countless times and have tried pretty much everything on the menu (all good) but my favorite is a spicy marinara+hot green chile pizza...perfect crust and fiery bites...totally awesome!! The Chupacabra calzone is pretty wicked too!

  • K P.

Great pizza, the only complaint is it was kind of a long wait but it is well worth it.. We got the supreme pizza and a small order of hot wings. The pizza is awesome!! If your used to cheap pizza it's a little different but you can def tell its made from scratch. The wings are packed full of meat unlike the franchise pizza places. All in all the price is worth it. When we ordered it was free delivery which is a huge plus and will keep our services coming back. Two thumbs up here :) YUMMY. Goes good with beer :)

While my daughter and her husband were here visiting for the holidays, ordered a pizza, garlic cheese bread and wings to be delivered. We weren't a fan of the pizza at all--sausage too spicy, and the thin crust wasn't thin or tasty. We ended up throwing away a bunch of the pizza and garlic cheese bread. The wings, however, were delicious. The guys liked them better than Hooters wings.

  • Amy S.

We had a calzone, small chupacabra pizza and wings through delivery service. The calzone and pizza were good, but very spicy. I think we got what we asked for, but we underestimated how spicy it would be. The wings were just ok.

We're new to ABQ and have been searching for decent pizza for the last few months. Finally found one! This pizza has personality! For a city with so much personality, I wouldn't have expected so much bland pizza. Had a pepperoni and green chile pizza and house salad delivered. Green chiles were nice and hot. Thin pepperoni so not too greasy. Sauce was really flavorful. Decent amount of cheese -- also not greasy. Oregano sprinkled over the top added even more flavor. Crust was a bit bready, but tasty. We'll try the thin crust next time. Salad was fresh, but very standard. Greek dressing was better than average, though. Delivery took a while -- this is no chain with deliverers revving their engines at the curb, but the estimate given over the phone was accurate at least. Definitely worth the wait, though.

I've only recently become acquainted with Straight Up Pizza. Let me say, I was most definitely impressed. They have two marinara sauces...the regular, and the spicy. The spicy is absolutely amazing, but my friend warned me that it's inconsistent in it's spicy-ness, and that sometimes it can be a real mouth scorcher. "Bring it on!", I say. They are a little pricier than other pizza joints, but they claim to make their sauces and dough daily from the "freshest ingredients from scratch", and from the taste, I'd believe it. Also, they don't have a delivery charge, though I don't know how widespread their delivery area is. Worth a drive from most areas of Albuquerque though. I'll definitely be getting more pizzas from Straight Up in the future.

This place serves some damn good pizza! Dion's finally has some competition. The way they season the pizza makes it special. Prices are competitive with other Albuquerque pizza joints. The only downside is the restaurant itself. It has no design aesthetic whatsoever. It has a couple of TVs tuned to sports stations and an odd corner dedicated to military flags. The stools at the bar do offer a nice view of the Sandias. But if you are looking for a nice environment, you might want to get your pizza delivered.

I have eaten once here and picked up or ordered a few other times. I've have always found the pizzas to be top quality and tasty. The ChupaCabra pizza is good but really spicy. Its hard to eat more than one or two slices because of the spiciness. Every time I have order, the pizza has been ready right when they said it would. The service is always great. Its a great neighborhood pizza place.

Straight Up Pizza really raises the bar for a local pizza place! All the ingredients are crazy fresh and really flavorful! The green chile is some of our favorite ANYWHERE! (That's right- even including Mexican restaurants) They have really creative tasty combinations that really deserve to be voraciously eaten. They have great specials throughout the week and will go out of there way to make sure the customer is happy! Say no to non-flavor card board pizza; and say hello to Straight Up!

Good stuff... Spicy marinara is very good... But very spicy. Calzones are good.... Overall good more ny style pies. Puts the crush on Dion's.

Best Pizza in town. We only had delivery so I don't know about the dining in experience. Just great pizza. Lots of garlic and great crust. Lots of good specialties with great classic flavors and New Mexican combinations. Want something different try your favorite toppings with the white sauce. Always fast, fresh, and delicious. Finally no more having to settle chain brand factory food. Real pizza with fresh New Mexico ingredients.

Ordered delivery this time had to stay in and watch the Hawks beat Canucks in a great game four on the way to the big cup!! The pizza was delivered hot and fresh with prompt friendly service. This time we got the classic pepperoni and it was pretty good with that spicy sauce and great crust it was a solid 3 and a half star pizza night , the order of wings was pretty average but got the job done and all well worth the price . Will keep them on speed dial for future pizza nights when the Penguins are playing

This pizza is for those who like their slices ranchless. It is quite tasty once i figured out that i couldnt put ranch on it. The one downside was that I would have liked more sauce and I don't consider myself a huge sauce guy.

  • Marchelle R.

I was craving pizza and not wanting Dion's. Found Straight Up online and took a chance. And so glad we did! The pizza was excellent, the cheese just right and the spicy marinara just made the whole pie to die for. We ordered twice in 1 week. Both delivery men were courteous and the delivery was very fast. Wish there was a location in Denver.
