Sister Bar, Sister Bar. Me and a large group ended up here after three talls at a local brewery. We got to the bar early, the band was still setting up. Still, there were enough people there to make it feel lively, but not crowded. Although I hear, it can get very crowded. Everyone was so friendly! The atmosphere is great. The bar itself has a divey feel, but it's not a dive. It is clean, that's for sure. They have a stellar line up of draft beers and the staff was super attentive. We were informed our drinks had been paid for by a mystery person when we went to cash out. How cool is that? Cool enough to make me wanna go back:) This is definitely a new favorite for me.

Love this place on my first visit! Amazing beer on tap selection and bartender will let you sample. They also have a decent food menu - definitely order the chips and salsa, homemade and delicious!!!! And they serve Zendos coffee woo hoo!!!!

First time coming here and I was greatly impressed. Very large amount of draft beers to choose from, and not the typical cheap beer (coors, bud, miller, etc). They had many local, uncommon, and micro brews which was mind blowing. I came here to watch a local rock band named beard play and I loved how big the stage was as well as the floor for us to watch. They have shuffle board and foosball to play which is unique and well planned out. Lots of couches, tables and chairs outside and inside.

Fooooood at sister!! So awesome that this gorgeous bar now also has delicious food! Downtown needed a new food vibe and Sister has done it perfectly. We had brisket tacos and Asian pulled pork tacos ($3 each) and they were perfectly seasoned. The corn tortillas were very lightly grilled and the perfect touch. We also shared the made to order chips which came with Black Market Salsa which is my favorite! Great place to go for happy hour after work and have a beer and something yummy!

Not my kind of place. Went for a stop in during a bachelorette party and no live music, and everyone just looked bored. Maybe they were trying to be hipster cool, but it came off as bored to me. We didn't stay long as it seemed like we had missed the party at this place.

Sister is great place to watch local bands and just under the radar national traveling acts. Beers range from cheep old mill to good expensive imports. It's near impossible to get one though. So pre drink somewhere else.

I'm a little conflicted about this bar. I like the wide open layout, I LOVE the tap list (read: a LOT of beers available), and the vibe is mellow. What killed my night last night was the bartender I had. Dude with a beard and big mole near his eye. Literally looked me in the eye, I motioned that yes, I need another beer, and he turned to go talk to some chicks at the other end of the bar. I felt so dismissed. Like, I know I'm no hipster, but damn, man. That's your job. And it wasn't like the place was busy and he was doing triage. So, not a fan of that guy, but otherwise this place is pretty solid. They have corn hole (also known as bag toss) by the stage, and foozeball in the back.

If you've ever asked yourself, "Where do the trustafarians at Winnings go after they finish their pastries and quiche?" Sister Bar would be the answer. Badam-ching! Because I'm an uppity, snooty, white b-word I obviously have some issues with this. Firstly, it's downtown, which I am not a fan of at night because I'm scared of strangers. Secondly, I'm snooty, and it's not a place I'd bring my grandparents who are my only friends these days(because of the b-word issue probably...) Despite my issues, Sister is actually a pretty fun place to go. They have amazing bands, or so I'm told, I can never keep up with the music scene, they have a wide variety of drinks(including those local brewskis we all love), and the service is consistently good. Realistically if you're a hip university student looking for a place to have your beers and hang out with your buds and be cool together I would say Sister is your place!

I accidentally stopped in here while searching for another bar and ended up sticking around for several hours because it was so great. Cool seating, lighting, and decor. I really appreciate how long the bar is - no ridiculous lines. Service was quick, and the guy who made my drink was really friendly despite how busy he was. They had the funnest DJ mixing up classic 80s tunes and everyone was dancing on the dance floor. The floor is really great and there are wall hooks for purses and coats and a shelf to set your drinks on while you dance. This bar is genenerally accomodating and unique in really cool ways. The retro couches for smoking on the front porch give it a charm like a punk house. I had an absolute blast here. Can't wait to re-visit Albuquerque next year so I can stop in again.

SISTERRRRRRRRR! i was surprised to see some low ratings here! it seems like there are still a bunch of people who think 'hipster' is still a derogatory term, and to them i say 'it's not 2008 anymore.' people knocking off stars because they didn't get a free drink? free alcohol is illegal in new mexico, yall! this is my homespot! everyone at sister bar is fantastic, funny, caring, and chill af unless you're acting like a jerk. they have consistently brought in great shows at affordable prices and the style of performances varies greatly from night to night. they've got a HUGE assortment of poured beers and i've never had a bad one, and their kombucha cocktails are worth dying over - the kombucha is home-brewed right down the street and they often times have two flavors. they put out cornhole boards for happy hour and they've got some real nice shuffle boards, as well as a couple new arcade games! the decor inside is very low key and comfy, and the patio is fitted with plenty of squishy couches to cuddle on. the artwork both in the patio area and the farthest walk are ever-changing murals often painted by local artists. the bathrooms are decorated by one of my most favorite artists in town! it's impossible to have a bad time at sister bar, unless you're a bad time person i guess?

Chill Atmosphere: check Great selection of beer: Check Awesome Bartender who makes great mix alcohol : Double Check If all of the above are my requirements for a really good bar, why in the world would I give it a 4 star instead of a 5 star? Because I really did not understand the Saturday night 3 dollar cover have a great dj but no one is dancing concept. The first time I went to Sister Bar I loved it. I love the space, the beer selection and the tons of places to sit to hang out with our friends. This last time when I visited the bar, the place still had those things but on top of that they got a great DJ playing. But, it didn't seem like a place where people go dancing, tho they should they have a great space for it. Also, some of the bartender was not very friendly towards my friend who's English is not their first language. They had asked the bartender to make them something sweet because they had no idea what to order and they paid for it. My friend took a first sip and thought yuck I do not like this. So she tried to tell the bartender to make her another one, but the bartender pretty much said you have to pay for another one. So my friend was not very happy. So I went over to get her another drink so she wouldn't think this is the world's worst bar ever. The bartender I interacted with was perfectly civil and gave me a discount on the drink, tho I do think it should have been free by that point. That was my one and only complaint about the place. But overall, I enjoy hanging out there at sister bar and I still think some of their bartender is awesome at making drinks. But I probably won't bring my girlfriend there again. I probably won't go there to go Dancing either. Most likely it will be classify as happy hour hangout for me.

Sister is okayyy, but I'd much rather go to Anodyne. I've never been for live music, so I'm just reviewing the bar itself. It's fine, but not my favorite. I feel like Anodyne is better because it has things to do; you're not just sitting/standing around. Sister feels like a place where you go, sit/stand around for a while, then get bored and leave. One time, I was at this bar with some friends and right after we walked in, a group of guys who seriously looked like they had just snorted a ton of something were harassing us, eyes glazed over. They were like, "Is that girl 12? There's a 12 year old in this bar?" Yes, being a petite woman DEFINITELY makes me 12, soooo edgyyy. The crowd in general is probably what makes this bar not my favorite. The cover doesn't help. Overall, I would suggest heading upstairs to Anodyne instead.

When I first got here, I thought this place was amazing with beer selection and roominess. They even have a shuffle board which my buddy and I could play while drinking which is cool. They even had a burlesque-y/freak-y show that night.... which I don't know what to say about it, but it was definitely different and unique. Came back a second time about a month and a half later and none of their beers had been rotated, nothing new and really boring. I had such high hopes after the first time I had been there. I do believe they had live music but it was so loud I could hardly communicate to anyone I was with.

  • Yael G.

They have a vast array of beer selections and some amazing cocktails, along with some fun kitschy video games (Pacman, anyone?) and live music. The bartenders are super nice. A++ this place is great, with a nice vibe. ‍‍

Pretentious "attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed." From the edgy graffiti tags in the restroom to the people wearing their clothes from Coachella, this place has 'hipster' stereotypes all over it. You can even score some food from a lunch truck outside while you puff on your Newport's. I picture Sister Bar being what people that have never been out of New Mexico think Brooklyn is like. Sure, check it out once. It is hard to make a continual habit of this place considering there isn't anything different and the people that inhabitant it are pretty dull. ...don't forget to lock your fixie up outside!!! xo

Great beer selection! Large dance floor, but minimal seating. Be prepared to stand or dance! This place has a hipster vibe, not really my style, but still fun none the less. We were here for a Yelp event and had a blast. Check out the cow skull artwork in the back.

Now this is my kind of bar! I can't believe I havent been here sooner. They offer a huge selection of draft beers and also have a huge selection of whiskeys which was my favorite. I would defiently recomend this place.

My only complaint about Sister Bar is that I can't say the name without everyone I'm talking to thinking it's a lesbian bar. But that probably says more about me than it does Sister Bar.

I sent this letter in an email last week and never heard back from anyone so I guess I'll just leave this here. I might return to Sister bar for the music but I will NEVER support this bar by purchasing drinks again. Hello. My name is Sara Roman. I have been a longtime supporter of live music here in Albuquerque and would like to take a moment to thank you for adding to the live music experience here in Albuquerque with such a great venue. I am writing this evening to share some concern in regards to your bar staff. I was a patron of your bar last Friday. I was there to take in the Carnival celebrations and visit with my dear friends The B-Side Players. I brought many patrons to your establishment that night as I had attended the Southwest Burlesque Showcase at the Kimo Theater earlier in the evening and many of the lovely ladies featured there joined me for drinks and music after. My concern is that it did not appear that your bar staff was at all pleased to be there. I would like to bring attention to one individual in particular. His name is Ben and he was not only rude but violent to me that night. I ordered a cocktail from Ben and took it back to the booth that my party was sitting at. We were seated at the booth that opens up into the dance floor. I believe it is the SW corner of the dance floor. I got up to dance right in front of my booth and left my drink on the table. I saw a busser take my cocktail but was unable to catch him before he dumped it as there were huge crowds there that night. I went back to the bar to inform Ben that my drink had been taken by accident. I did hope that Ben would poor me another if only because he knew I just ordered it minutes before. Ben proceeded to roll his eyes at me and tell me, "Well you shouldn't have left it unattended". I informed him that I was dancing near the table and actually saw him take it. He then raised his voice and said, "Fine I'll poor you another fuckin drink" and then punched his fist to his palm as if to suggest it was my face. I never asked Ben to poor me another cocktail, yet he treated me as if I was just taking advantage of the bar and the violence he suggested was offensive and completely uncalled for. I understand that working behind a bar is not easy and dealing with many customers and alcohol can sometimes be trying, however, your business is still a customer service establishment. I know many of the promoters that work very hard to keep your venue busy and I believe that the kind of service that the bar staff delivers is a huge injustice to the work of the promoters. My experience last Friday may have been the most extreme display of horrible service that I have experienced at your establishment, but not the first time I have been treated badly. The bar staff always seems to be upset when I order drinks and it appears they do not enjoy their work. I support your venue often and it is very frustrating to buy drinks at your bar when the staff portrays themselves as self-righteous snobs who are upset that you are having a good time while they are stuck working. Some of the best shows in Albuquerque happen at Sister Bar and anyone fortunate enough to work there should show some sort of enthusiasm about it. Instead, I and many other patrons are met with attitude and bad service when we come to your bar. I tried to call the bar to pose my complaint, however, it does not appear that answering the phone is a priority of your staff either. I do hope that this email reaches the owner of Sister Bar and am requesting some sort of follow up either by email or phone. It is important to value the feedback of your patrons and I do hope to hear from you soon. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Sara Roman

This is a cool place, especially to see a live band. The crowd can be intimidating and weird tho. I was more on the "observation side" than the "enjoying side" of things as I was sitting at the bar with my friend. Things I liked: We sat at the bar and the guys were attentive to serve us in a timely fashion. A big enough venue to enjoy a band There a dance floor for those that like to dance. Things that bothered me: There's only 3 stalls in the bathroom There isn't a girl checking and supervising the girl's bathroom but there was a guy for the guy's bathroom. Weird It could be the night and event I choose to attend, but half of the crowd looked like junkies. The cover was pricey. Girls conversation on the bathroom line was disturbing (asking for condoms) If it wasn't because I enjoy the company of my friend I would have given this place a 1 star. My friend encountered a uncomfortable conversation as she waited on line. Girls asking for drugs. I doubt i'll be coming out here again since it doesn't seem like my type of crowd and ambiance. I like more of a relaxed talking place

Cool is hard to quantify. Impossible, really. Musicians spend careers trying to craft a perfect love song, and few succeed. Cool, by the same token, isn't formulaic. It just Is. Cool just Is. Sister Bar just Is. I could go on about the beer options, but you can read the reviews, tons of worldly taps. There's plenty to choose from here, and the pours are rather opulent. Pricey. The bar is impressive, it's wide and stretchy; if the Library across the street owned the joint there'd definitely be some Coyote Ugly crunk happening. Thankfully, the vibe is the precise opposite, the space just is. There's a stage. Some games, which are free, like foosball and cornhole. A decent outdoor patio/lounge area with old couches that frame our tiny downtown. Come with friends, relax as the sun is going down, and be thankful we have this fantastic, very cool place to be. Minimal is key. Sister Bar is minimal. No pretensions, just great beer and liquor, in a space Albuquerque desperately needs. I recommend adding shuffle board and appetizers. Otherwise, damn right, Sister Bar is a deeper shade of soul.

Sister is a great addition to the sometimes sketchy downtown bar scene. The space is huge accommodating a huge bar, stage and a cool covered front patio. This place is in the same family as Anodyne (upstairs) and Blackbird Buvette, catering to Abq's class of hipsters and rockers. The beer selection here is nothing to scoff; they have everything from hipster-class cans of Hamms and PBR to super-fancy belgian beers. The staff is friendly (though the piercings and tattoos may not belie this) and able to choose a beer for you if you get overwhelmed like I do staring at all those unfamiliar taps!

  • Andi L.

This is a new favorite place to go downtown. I've been here to see live music and just to meet friends. They pull in some interesting live shows and the bar itself reminds me of something in a city like Denver. There is a great beer selection and outdoor patio to people watch or have smoke.

  • Victoria V.

I am giving 4 stars for the music. Cool atmosphere. All different types of ppl inside. Old, young, all races. It was a good time for the 30 minutes we stayed. Fridays and Saturday nights expect a long wait at the bar.

    (4)
  • Aleisha A.

Once upon a time, when they first opened, you wouldn't find my friends and I anywhere else. They played great music, had good service, and generally a good crowd. As of late, I find myself more frustrated than anything when I visit this bar. The service is generally good. But the amount of time you wait and are ignored at the bar by a few of their bartenders can really get irritating. I can understand if the bartenders are busy, but when they look you in the eye, start washing dishes and once finished walk to the other end of the bar and stand around it can really start to wear on you. The things they have going for them are they tend to host really great events and bring awesome music to the city. All is all, if you aren't going to see a band that you really like, or you don't dress like a hipster on the daily I would avoid the busy nights like Thursday- Saturday. Otherwise give a try and play some corn hole or shuffle board.

  • B G.

Sister? More like Brother. As in oh brother another hipster bar. That being said I will go over the positives. Nice size to the place. Has dance area, outside area and pool and foosball. I got my drinks really fast every time so was impressed by the service. Now to the bad. The crowd was typical hipsters and the music was pathetic. Might go as far to say false advertisement. I went on Valentine's which was supposed to be slow jams night. The music was not even slow and most certainly was not a jam. Some of what I heard was more like house music. Not saying this is a bad bar but don't expect anything more than what it is. And in the future don't advertise a certain type of music and water it down and pander. May give this place another try just because how fast i got my drinks.

They just need to pour better drinks, especially when you know the bartenders hello!!! Jerks.

  • Heather B.

Only been once but the bartenders were pretty good. 10$ cover because it was an event night. ample seating, ended up spending most of the time hanging out in the patio and just talking to friends. Lots of beers on tap. I was tempted to try a glass of their absinthe, but I ended up just sticking to vodka soda. I prefer Anodyne next door (no cover) but this place isn't bad

wow.. i really wanted to like this place... i even went twice to see if it was just a one-time thing..... unfortunately somewhat rude, hipster, tattooed, pretentious bar staff can over-shadow a good selection of beer.... now not everyone here left a bad taste in my mouth.. but a few people rubbed us the wrong way...they seemed to have this "too cool for school" vibe.. but guess what.. u are in the service industry... too bad! im not sure how people here were hired.. if one guy didnt know about beer ("i only drink stouts so i cant say much about those beers" said our bartender) and was rude... i dont see why he's working there. the last experience just was one thing after the next. We came on a pretty empty evening. A person in our group ordered a beer that didnt taste very good (it was like this sweet grapefruit almost beer tasting beer)... he was ok with drinking it but he made a comment to the bar tender like "you should prob warn people about this beer being weird when they order it".... welll anyway just making conversation with the bartender .. he then said to our friend basically that he is stuck with the beer..and "are you gonna close out because other people are waiting on me".. like WOAH..sorry for trying to talk to you...there were maybe 3-4 other people at the bar... not busy at all..also many places would offer to replace the beer with something else if you clearly didnt like it..though we didn't ask this... then me and my husband ordered two beers that were $6 each. he said it was going to be $13 dollars so my husband said, isnt it $12? then hes like "oh ok sorry yeah... ". .. so we gave him $15 dollars and he gave us $2 back and walked away... we really didnt want to deal with him again so we were the bigger person and still gave him $2 tip since he assumed he gave us the right change... he seemed already pissed at us that we corrected him. then we go to the fooseball table... we set our beers on the four corners of the table because there wasnt anywhere else to put them. then another guy yelled at us for putting our beers on the table.. like... really? it's a bar? there was no other place next to it to PUT the beers and u need two hands to play the game.. maybe have a sign saying that..because i have a feeling we werent the only people who thought to put our beers on the corners of the table.. since again.. this is a bar... wow.. i didnt want to rant but looks like i just did... sorry sister bar... not sure if i'm ready to give you another chance..

Quite literally this is the sister bar to Anodyne. From what I understand, it use to be some club but has been re-opened by a few of the bartenders who worked at Anodyne. It has a similar vibe in as much as it's also a hipster bar, but it has many more beers on tap. They're all local or micro brews. What really punches my ticket is the ambiance. It's built between two old brick buildings whose walls give the place an old, turn of the century look. The magnificent wooden bar is unlike any other downtown. It's a gorgeous, massive piece of woodwork. The leather seats aren't bad either. You really can't go wrong at this place. They've been consistently on their game.

    (4)
  • Clayton A.

All the stars are for the beers. Odell has great stuff and Sister has done this city a service for bringing them to us on tap and, even cooler, Nitro for the Lugene and Porter. The beers were fairly priced too, as two cost me $10. The Amuste that I started with costs $20+ in stores, so this was quite the hook up. This wasn't really an event though, as there was nothing else going on. Just new beers on tap. But if you know me, you know this ain't a dealbreaker.

I went there to see A Place to Bury Strangers play. The venue was nice and clean (for a bar) and seemed comfortable. The sound system seemed to need some working out, thou perhaps it just couldn't handle the band's love of feedback antics. would go again if another band i wanted to see comes through

This place is what ABQ needs. For the longest time the bar above it, Anodyne, was the one cool hole-in-the wall kind of place that felt like something different from the rest of the 505's night spots. Sister has that same kind of vibe but much more space, including a nice set up for live performances. What drew me however, was its selection of draft beers. I went on a week night when it was nice and mellow and that allowed me to talk to the bartenders (and the owner) about their selections which include local breweries and some of the best from Colorado and California. Drink prices are really good (especially for some of the more rare bottled beers) and the huge wooden bar is an awesome place to sit and enjoy them. The only thing missing is perhaps a better sense of flow, and/or more seating. The space does feel slightly non Feng Shui right now. ;)

I love sister bar! This place is phenomenal. Josh is the best bartender here. He really knows his beers. The atmosphere is really chill and the live music here is great. The tap selection is awesome and you will not be disappointed. Downtown has the hippest bar in the southwest. Boom I said it!

It's an okay bar. Their beer section is wonderful I'll give them that. The crowd is sometimes too pretentious though. Hipster spot for sure.

We saw Deerhoof here in Nov 2013. Nice club environment swanky but not too. Nice beer selection and they were reasonably priced. Staff and crowd were friendly even polite.

I finally had a reason to check out Sister Bar last week and really liked the place. I went to check out a La Cumbre/New Belgium collaboration (May's Maize... which was really good) during happy hour on a Friday. The place was nice and clean, and the men's room smelled like a spa. There are tons of beers on tap, including lots that I haven't tried yet. The bartender seemed pretty nice and didn't mind giving samples. I noticed that they have a nice stage, so it would be cool to check out some live music sometime too. I am glad that I finally stopped by after working right around the corner for almost a year. I'll definitely be back again.

  • Ashley W.

First time here & what a treat! They have a great beer selection (I counted over 20 on tap) and an awesome atmosphere. The whole time I felt like I was in a friends basement party! Not a whole lot of places to sit, but I did enjoy the wide-openness of this new bar. I'll be back.

  • Kelli G.

Yes! So glad to that Sister Bar exists to supplement my big city needs! Albuquerque is seriously lacking in cool drinking establishments. I can count my favorite bars on one hand. After watching WITCH BIRD, BILLY BELLMONT, & THE GREAT DEPRESSION at Black Bird Saturday night, we ended the evening at Sister Bar. Sister Bar is conveniently hidden under Anodyne. The place was packed, in a good way. There was a dance floor full of swaying patrons and just enough room at the bar to slip in and order a drink. As other reviewers mentioned, the beer selection is phenomenal AND they have my favorite bourbon. SCORE! The ghetto factor is still pretty low at this place so check it out soon. You stay classy, Albuquerque.

  • Andrew L.

Okay, I will not bore you. Other reviews have mentioned the impecable selection of beer with myriad on tap selections and others have complemented Sister on the fantastic atmosphere. However, I want to mention one aspect of this fine establishment that has been overlooked in many of the reviews. Sound. Sister is the best venue in town to see live music. Why? Because they have sound engineers who know how music reacts to the space. I have been to many shows in this town with great acts which have been ruined by an engineer who either does not know what they are doing or are too lazy to make the tweaks to the changing acoustics of a live show. However, Sister has chosen sound engineers who actually know what the music that they are engineering should sound like. Although I spent many, many, months agonizing for this place to open, I can say that the reality of Sister is even beyond my many bar filled day dreams. Finally, a place in town which does not gouge you on the cover or beer prices, books interesting music, and has professional staff. Thanks Sister for making the music scene here better.

This was by first downtown ABQ bar experience. I was a little nervous, but it was great. It is a big bar with good lighting for a bar. Also they have "bags" (as I call it with an awesome WI short a sound.) I think most people around here call it "corn hole." I had to leave my ID to get the bags to play, which I was fine with. My husband was pleased with their beer selection minus the fact that they were out of Myrcenary. I was pleased because the bartenders gave me virgin drinks for free all night. Thank you for respecting the DD! We were also lucky that it wasn't crowded for a Friday night.

  • Lucas L.

My first night at this establishment happened to be Hallows Eve and it was spooky fun. The beer selection was fantastic. The service was hip and speedy and the crowd was right up my alley. There vibe between young professionals and hipsters was very relaxed and comfortable. We were able to foosball it up, and since its located under Anodyne(my favorite downtown bar) we can switch up venues with ease. Check this place out! The bar is almost a mile long.

  • Cassidy Z.

I was not expecting to happen upon this new ABQ hotspot on my way to Albuquerque-fave Anodyne last night. This big, open-spaced bar occupies a space that has notoriously hosted bar-fail after bar-fail, but it finally seems to have found its footing. Sister Bar is straight out of Brooklyn, with a hip, fun crowd to match. I was especially impressed with the draft beer selection--over 20 on tap!! If you're willing to bear the typical, collegiate downtown crowd, this bar is a must for a Friday or Saturday night.

    (4)
  • Lenny R.

If you are looking for a completely different Albuquerque bar experience, then go to Sister. It makes Anodyne look mainstream as it is teaming with hipsters. The crowd is mellow, cool and make this establishment seem more like something you would find in another city or another country. Even if you don't drink, you should go just to see the design of the place (check out the light fixtures in the ladies bathroom- very cool). Once you make your way through the cloud of smoke from the folks sitting in the outdoor seating area (check out the fake stove to your left that houses The Alibi), you'll walk into the main room which has a posh seating area to the left. After this you'll notice the huge, beautiful bar that boasts over 20 beers on tap. Check out the huge chalk board on your left to see what is on tap. After this you'll notice a huge, open area for dancing, concerts or corn hole games. Towards the end of the building is another seating area with games. Seriously, check this place out!

Gotta say, the wait was worth it. I wanted to give it a couple of months to review the place--you know, for the novelty to wear off. Truth is, these guys did it right! 45 awesome international and craft beers on-tap! Full-service bar. Friendly staff--though it can be busy on some nights--especially when there's live music. As for a music venue, again, they did't it right. Sound is awesome and the standing area / dance-floor is large and well-positioned off the bar--so no winding through people to get to the bar. There's a back area with lovely vintage furniture and a foosball table in the rear, and a nifty garage-door'd smoking area out front where you can take your drinks with you. Upon entering, you'll have a more intimate area just off the right, with booths and a people-watching bar at the window--this area is separated from the music area. The bar is about as long as runway 8 at Albuquerque International Sunport, but that doesn't mean you'll necessarily find a seat there on a busy night :-/ The dance-floor area is converted into a dual-lane Corn-in-the-Hole play area for friends to gather and throw stuff. This place may come across as too-hipster, but once you realize that all-walks are grabbin a pint in this spot, you'll feel right at home and that 1960s couch! Also of note, they have the GREATEST Weekly Alibi dispenser in the city. Pros: 45 beers on tap, great performance venue, friendly staff, separate and distinct seating/drinking/music areas despite the open floor plan.

One of the best bars in Albuquerque. Myriad beer on tap. Cheap pints. Good music. Spacious. My only complain is the lack of seating. Don't get me wrong: The bar stretches about as long as a football field with plenty of chairs. However, there are just a few tables anywhere else even though there is plenty of space. This could be a problem on a Friday night when the entire bar is taken up.
