Nothing to complain about. A bazillion beers on tap - and a knowledgeable staff to boot. Food was excellent; ribs, grilled wings, pizza, you name it. NO COMPLAINTS on this visit.

Was excited by all the hype and advertising for the Grand Opening, nothing stated invite only. I can appreciate fund raising for the Wounded Warrior Project, being a Vet myself. But Grand Openings are typically not private or invite only. Dissatisfied and disappointed.

I came to Rock and Brews for a work get together. We had about 14 in our group and were crammed into a tiny table. Our waiter must have been new because he forgot drinks or just didn't take our drink orders. My order wasn't even given to the kitchen so I was eating when everyone else was done. I asked for a pretzel to eat while I was waiting, but was brought a salad instead. They were at least sweet about it and apologetic, plus they took care of my meal. The food was really good and my group was impressed by how many beers they had available. We sat on the patio and it was completely lovely outside.

I went here with a group of four and was super excited to try it! The atmosphere was awesome. I loved the music playing and everything about the building. We were waited on right away. My boyfriend and I ordered chile cheese fries (cheese only on half as I can't eat cheese) and some beers. The other couple ordered garlic fries and two plates of tacos. The garlic fries were OK- basically just fries that smelled like garlic. The smell was stronger than the taste. Our chile cheese fries were disappointing. Apparently, cheese only on half meant four pieces of shredded cheese and green chile only on half. We requested more green chile and it was brought to us promptly. The tacos were mediocre...nothing too special. Service was great at first, but towards the end we had to ask for our ticket so we could leave. Also- the place was not busy. I may return to give it another shot, but as of now, seems a bit overrated.

First time here, great open seating, lay out. Nice selection of local beers, the service was fantastic, Dani was attentive and energetic. I had the fish and chips, they were good. I'd come back, I'd like to try the happy hour menu, next time. Lorenzo the bar manager, was genuine and generally concerned about our overall experience.

I really enjoyed this place- more than I would have expected, actually. The setup of the restaurant is pretty brilliant, though. The decor was inspiring and open seating areas made for a very relaxed feel. Couldn't go wrong with the music here either. The fish tacos and calamari were excellent! The order was messed up at first but we were quickly brought a replacement dish. Also had the ribs at the table which are another must have. I've heard good things about the Asian wings and thus will have to stop again! Good drinks, good food, good times!

Had a good HH with Adam as our server. I agree mgr. Lorenzo sux. Was rockin out and enjoying the audio/video screens- U2, Pearl Jam, AC/DC, Cars, etc. but then suddenly it was tv commericals! What?!?! At the end of the 1st quarter they put on Thursday night football loud on audio. WTF. I complain to server who sends over Lorenzo who says majority of people want it. I look around and no one! is watching the game and it sounds so stupid to hear loudly the tv commercials and idiot tv commentators. Am i in Rock & Brews or what? I came here to hear the great music! If i want a sports bar i can go elsewhere and i definitely don't need the audio thank you very much Lorenzo! lame. worth the Happy Hour otherwise beware.

Not too impressive for the price. It is new so I won't trash the service too bad. We ordered 2 burgers and they were as good as anywhere else, a pulled pork which was bout the same, and brought last and several minutes behind was My nephews grilled cheese. How is the grilled cheese last out? I will have to try thos again in a few months and see if the servers get better, but as of now not good and very inattentive.

Very nice environment and atmosphere. But the food was nothing special at all, don't reccomend their Mac n cheese.

I've been here thirty minutes. Keep in mind that its 400 and half full. It took me twenty minutes to get served and that was after I had to remind them twice...ordered a beer to wait for friends and beer came an inch and a half from the top. How hard is it to serve a full beer? We will see what the rest of the evening brings but so far definitely not impressed

  • Joseph H.

Granted, I did not eat here . . . only had two beers. Was with a large group and had a great time sitting outdoors. Music level about just right for carrying on a conversation, while giving the place some zip. One waiter seemed a little lost but a second one, female, was spot on. Some people ordered food and it looked good.

love the atmosphere, great food and tons of beers on tap... That being said the only thing that I didn't like was waiting forever to get my beer. I found it faster walking up the the bar and getting it myself.

Service was horrible, burger over cooked, clueless servers ... go to Billy's ... SUPPORT LOCAL. No need to bother with yet another Applebees-like chain with a twist of celebrity. A chain is a chain is a chain ... crappy microwaved food. Expensive for what you get!

Went to Rock and Brew with my brothers and my family. The service was good and the atmosphere was very nice. I have not seen that many TV's in on place before except at Wal-Mart. Although at the time when leaving we looked at each other and said we would be back again, we got home and woke up the next day thinking totally different. My brother and I both had the sweet potato fries and my wife ate a few off my plate. Boy was that a big mistake. All three got violently sick. There were a total of 8 of us and yet we were the only ones that got sick and the only ones that had sweet potato fries. I called and spoke to the manager and let them know what happen. I figured they would apologize and comp my meal and yet instead he said that maybe we had the flu and that no one else called in with issues. He said he would send me a VIP card and call me if there is anyone else that calls with an issue. I told him don't bother and that the only reason I called was to insure that no one else got sick. Needles to say I will not be going back again. Not just because we got food poisoning but more because when I got off the phone I felt as if it was my fault that I got sick.

3rd visit and every time.......Great service...great food....great restaurant. Burgers, wings, drinks were all great. Purple Raindrops dessert worth getting. Only reason 4 stars is the picnic table seating and the kid and dog area.

Tasty fish and chips.. my gf said the Chicago dog would be better but the bread was a little stale..

  • Vickie C.

Totally overrated! I ordered fish n chips... The fish was mushy, not crispy, and the fries were just lukewarm. Nice beer selection, but having to sit at very uncomfortable picnic tables is not worth the effort to get here. Just average bar food and really, the picnic table seating is the worst!!

Better than I expected!!! My family and I went to Rock and Brews yesterday for lunch and it was delicious. The hostess greeted us and took us to our table with no wait. Then our waitress was great, she was definitely on it, always making sure we were taken care of. We got the Chile Cheese fries for an appetizer, then I got the Santa Maria Fire Grilled Tri Tip Sandwich (which was o so savory) and my husband got the Point Reyes Blue Cheese & AppleWood Smoked Bacon Burger lol & he enjoyed every last bit of it lol. The atmosphere was really cool too, flat screen tv's everywhere, and with pictures of music legends. I will for sure be back to this restaurant. Great job Rock and Brews!! ^_^

Super impressed on my first visit! I was seated on the patio along with my toddler grandson. Plenty of bench seating and umbrellas covering every section to keep the sun off of you. They have a small play area for children to keep them entertained, which anyone with small children knows is a huge plus! I ordered a bacon cheese burger, medium well, with fries and the bier mac&cheese for my grandson. Both were perfectly cooked and delicious! My iced tea glass was never empty thanks to Callista! I highly recommend you ask for her when you go. She is attentive and considerate and funny, she made my lunch that much better! It's a little on the pricey side, but all of the food is very high quality. I never mind paying a little more for really great food! They also have a beautiful bar with lots of tv's inside for sports season! And they play awesome music all the time! Decor, food, ambience and waitstaff are all superb! I will definitely be back to Rock & Brews!

Rock and Brews is a really fun experience, with a taste of local beers, and delicious food! The menu is really long, but showcases pub type food but with a New Mexico influence. Lots of green chilis of course, tacos, and dishes with a Tex-Mex feel in addition to burgers, sandwiches, and other more typical bar foods. Happily they also serve beer flights so when you can't decide what to order (the taps go on and on) you can have fun tasting new things. Our food: tacos and a burger was really flavorful, the fries were especially good. Service is friendly but brisk, the servers are helpful but are busy. The decor is funky rock and roll posters and lots of TV's show sports and old school music videos. Seating is wide open and there are lots of community tables in the bar area which makes for interesting eavesdropping if not new friends :) I really like Rock and Brews and think it's a great place for a young crowd. Seems like a good place for conversation and meeting new people. I look forward to going back especially since the patio is dog friendly. I think the patio might be better suited for our family. We prefer a quieter space and the ability to talk to each other over watching TV.

This was only our second time here and I was not as impressed as the first time. I will say that I liked the new set up where you are not sitting at a table with people that you do not know. For dinner I actually ordered an appetizer. I wanted the pretzel with beer cheese. The pretzel tasted as though it had been reheated a time or two. If I wanted a steel pretzel I could just go to target and pay a fraction of the cost. The husband and kid got wings and they did indeed like their meal. We got an appetizer of the purple rain drops. There was a total of six so that would be two per person. By the second one I realized they were not fully cooked and the dough was somewhat raw. Why on earth I didn't say anything is beyond me and I am still kicking myself for not. I was really kicking myself that night when I started to not feel well. I'd like to get this place another try, but I must say I am skeptical

We came here to celebrate my son's 19th birthday and father's day. It was quite busy for lunch. The place is decorated nicely with a rock n roll them. The bar has quite a bit of different "brews" to choose from. The hostess wanted to sit us (3) in a large booth that could easily fit 8 people, we asked for a table instead. The outdoor seating looks nice if it was not so hot outside. I had the fish tacos and asked for no black beans, but coleslaw instead...but I got the black beans, it probably would have helped if she wrote our order down. Hubby had the pulled pork sandwich (he said the BBQ sauce was awesome) with sweet potato fries. My son just wanted onion rings. We had iced tea, but it was warm and melted the ice so we had to ask for more ice, I hate that.... The food was just okay, nothing to brag about really. It would be a great place for a few beers and appetizers. The plus was the 80's rock music and videos playing on the many TVs. I would probably go back for a beer and pretzel.

Fun atmosphere that brings out your inner rocker! The grilled tri tip tacos and passion fruit margaritas were delicious! The staff are happy to greet you and provide awesome service! Our waitress Marena, was so accommodating with our two toddlers. There's a great variety of food and even a menu for your pooches! Looking forward to going back again, but this time with the hubby for happy hour!

This place is great for kids! They have a little play area for them with pillows and a TV. We heard they used to have a jungle gym but had to take it down because parents weren't watching their kids and the kids were playing chicken frequently and hurting the smaller kids. No surprise. The food was good and the service we had was good too. I would like to return to try out some brews when we don't have our kiddo with us. The music was GREAT! We will definitely be back soon.

Turn up that loud 80s Rock music, toss back a couple o' brews and enjoy some food . . . Because you're at Rock and Brews, bitches! This place was neat! Seeing as I was here for a quick lunch, I can only imagine what the atmosphere at night is like. Found myself in ABQ for the day last month with my boss and coworker. We needed some grub and FAST before an afternoon of training. Two guys from the local team suggested we meet up here. Our servers took great care of our group! Between the five of us, we actually had two as one gent was in training. Said server knew our Service Manager from a pool league, so who knows if that had an impact on the service. We all shared some of those famous Spicy Asian Wings (bone in). These were a great balance of heat, sweet with a touch of garlic. And of course slightly sticky. I can't speak for the rest of my group, but the ribs, burger, pulled pork sandwich and chopped salad looked delicious. Boss man definitely inhaled those ribs! Me? I ordered the Tuscan Kale Salad with blackened chicken. This thing was freakin' huge, yet somehow I demolished half of it! It had plenty of red grapes, dates, toasted almond slices with some fresh parmigiana and champagne vinaigrette. I don't expect uber fresh kale in this kind of place, but the leaves were rather sad and limp. It was still a decent salad and powered me through the afternoon. Overall, fun place. Rock and Brews was A-ok, but your socks aren't at risk of being knocked off.

I actually thought the service here was top notch, it's been awhile since I've seen service this good and by good I mean attentive, timely, friendly and polite. The food was really quite good too, I got fish and chips and the fish was very steak like with delicious seasoned fries. I enjoyed the wide variety of music they piped in and any louder would have been too loud in my opinion, since we could still hold conversation it was kosher. The establishment is comfortable from high ceilings to comfy outdoor seating and spacious enough so you don't feel squished in, the only thing I found unusual was ONE door between indoor and outdoor areas. I only wish I had come here when Gene Simmons christened the joint's grand opening!

I'm not hating- this place is just a solid 3. Food is reliably good, drinks are plentiful, service is as it should be, and it's always a good experience. This is a great lunch spot for a day out with the dogs- the patio is dog friendly and super pleasant to hang out on even on a chilly day (they have heaters). I usually get a burger or sandwich of some kind, and I haven't evr had anything to complain about. The staff is super friendly and sweet to my dogs. All in all, it's not a place I crave to be at but it's a good spot to hang out and eat a good lunch.

This place is great. Well, I had a great experience! The music is fantastic, and they serve a brunch menu on Saturday and Sunday! Their mimosas are delicious and I wanted to cry because their Eggs Benny and the Jets is so, so, so good!

Finally gave this place a try and it was good. Not a high 4 but a low 4...Great beer list to choose from but too expensive compared to the rest of Albuquerque! Solid bar food menu, lots of TVs, great service and LOVE the music videos.

You really gotta like rock and roll if you go here. Or have a very open mind. It would be a decent sports place too. We're not really into rock and roll and it's like... really really loud 80s cock rock non stop. Like one minute pink floyds comfortably numb has you questioning life as you stare at your french fries. And the next everyone is singing to Bohemian Rapsody and head banging. The food was very good American Bar fare and the service excellent. Despite my distaste for rock and roll if your into that kind of think you'd like it and I do recommend.

We ate here tonight and the food was awesome and the service was even better!! We had a pretzel and cheese, the pretzel was great but the cheese and mustard were kinda weird (the cheese was a little thick and pasty and the mustard was very spicy)... We had the ribs and those were delicious! The side salads were great and the burger, BLTA, and fries were so yummy! We also had the purple rain donuts and mmmmm they were so good too!! Also their fresh squeezed lemonade was pretty tasty, and overall we were highly satisfied! The only downside is the price... We ended up paying over $70 for three people, it's kinda crazy but very good taste/quality. Although, even though I don't remember her name, I must give props to our waitress! She was amazing and she made sure we had full drinks, we were satisfied, and that we knew specifics about the menu! We couldn't be more satisfied!

I finally made it to Rock and Brews today to meet a friend for happy hour! I usually go for the food deals and he goes for the drinks. The bartender (I think her name was Jessica?) was really nice and was making all kinds of drinks that looked great. I ordered the Chicago Dog with cole slaw ($4) and the green chili cheese fries ($3). It was easily enough food to split between two people. I thought they were both good for the price. And especially liked the crunchy battered fries. I don't understand all the bad reviews that are on here... I understand that we are foodies and we are supposed to be rating the food but heck... I am not comparing this establishment to some fancy place I love for dinner once in a while. For happy hour and beer it was great! The tap selection was huge. I was so happy to be able to sit in a restaurant and have consistently good music to listen to. (Nothing "new"... Which I prefer!!!) I am still in my 20s but I love hearing some music that was not made in the last 15 years! I will return for happy hour for sure :)

Great food and a huge beer menu! The menu offers classic bar food with a New Mexican twist. Don't miss the Brussels Sprouts and the dessert menu! The bar offers one of the largest beer lists in town and a full bar with great speciality cocktails.

Before you go here, read the reviews about this place, for Rock and Brews has mixed experiences from yelpers. One yelper wrote, "That's kind of par for the course for Albuquerque, a city where people flock to shitty chains like pigeons when some seed is tossed their way." Like pigeons? Ouch, Burque. Is he a snob or what? If he feels that way about chain openings, he ought to avoid all grand openings that are not local businesses. I, however, do not view business openings as bleak as that yelper. One ought to expect a new place to be really busy because we Albuquerque residents support new businesses -- even though they may be chains. I've spoken many business managers who expect a high rate of customers upon opening a new business here in this city; they also know it will slow down after a while. The managers also know to treat all customers with the very best service, so I am shocked that another yelper said that Lorezno told her, "well if you don't like it you can leave." I hope he never helps my table. My husband and I visited Rock and Brews on a beverage date. I knew that since this place was new to Albuquerque that I should try to show up before the business lunch crowd. So, when we showed up, we were seated immediately. The only thing strange about out seating was that the hostess failed to ask our preferences about where we would like to have been seated. She chose an indoor bench for us. I didn't like it only because once more of the lunch crowd started filling up Rock and Brews, another person was seated at the other end of the bench. He seemed kinda grumpy. Why would anyone want to eat near unfriendly people? That's okay though because some people are food dependent to where they have to eat in order to feel better. I would have offered him a Snickers bar had I had one with me. No other attitudes stood out -- just appearances. I appreciated the fact that many walks of life were in here all together from the families with small children to the parents with alternative type of kids with purple hair to the lone diners. There was even a male teenager there with lipstick on eating with his sister and parents. The parents looked like they listened to rock music. One of the male servers wore eyeliner. While some people seemed "normal," others showed style that was a refreshing deviation from the norm. While we were in Rock and Brews, we were stimulated with the music playing in the background that matched one of the televisions playing the corresponding videos. I liked all of the art. My husband didn't mind the many televisions around the place; he just suggested that one of the screens should have been playing a continuous feed of Kiss concerts. He has had the honor of going to a Kiss concert, and that memory still puts a smile on his face. He smiled while having a few beer samples and a couple of pours. I had iced tea and water because I was the designated driver. The waiters [we had one shadowing another] were nice, and they both seemed to know their beers, for they were offering their take on the flavors. They could make comparisons between domestic, brewery, and imported beers. I guess we were lucky to have knowledgable servers because other reviews said that the staff were clueless. We were also lucky that our servers were on top of everything and speedy. I should have wrote down their names, but I did tell them that we would return for dinner sometime. When we do so, I'll be sure to get their names and give a yelp tip to ask for either of them. For now I look forward to seeing that dynamic duo during my next visit to Rock and Brews.

Went Friday early and place was slammed although only had to wait a few minutes for a table. Inside is very nice . All kinds of dark wood and large TVs showing sports and music vids. Happy hour 3 to 6 , Monday thru Friday . Some items very inexpensive , 3 thru 5 bills . The beers I got were not on special but good. Left hand milk stout was okay, 3 inches of foam/head . ( gotta pour these slower ) Ska blond was very good. Did not have spinach salad but was very pleased with Tuscan Kale. A little pricey but serving was huge. ( almost laughable on how much but I still drilled thru it) grapes , cheese and figs or dates added some sweet and salty to bountiful dark greens. Dressing was very light if present, used my two lemon wedges for some more flavor. Did not bring dog so unsure on dog menu and dog beer. Will definitely be back. Will bring the pup and update review at that time ( come on 5 stars, woot)

This was absolutely fine. Our server Donovan was excellent, he was so friendly and patient with me and my fiancé. I didn't drink anything other than water, so no comments there. I wanted the food to be so much better than it was. My carnitas tacos were a green chile taco with some pulled pork garnish that wasn't even real carnitas. We ordered the Mac and Cheese, and we got a bowl of overcooked pasta with cheese and some cheese its tossed on top. It honestly looked like it had been microwaved. My fiancé ordered a hot dog that he said was good. His fries were my favorite part of our meal. I'd go back though. The ambience in this place is clearly fantastic if you're there on a Friday night of drinking craft beer and jamming to some good tunes. Just wish the food met the standards this place clearly has met everywhere else with me.

Curious mix of sports-bar and Hard Rock Cafe. Clean remodel and building, modern fixtures, and walls covered in...not quite memorabilia, more like re-imagined posters of bands you might have had on your wall as a teenager. Reprinted festival posters and the kind of stuff that stirs your memories of other things you had like the stuff you see but not quite. The interior is like what your massive room would have looked like if you were rich and had someone design the decor for 'late 1970's teenager'. Anywho, haha, at least they've got a big selection of beer (I counted 36 taps but that was from across the room). The menu was standard American fare with your typical twists, I didn't eat but they did have a tasty brew I hadn't had yet - standard pint for $4. Entrees were all a bit pricey but not terrible. Plenty of TV to watch: sports, news, the weather channel, and ancient rock videos from a time when music videos were poorly edited concert footage. We sang along to about 4 bars of Stairway to Heaven before deciding, all at once and unanimously, to stab ourselves in the face to end the pain. Fortunately they'd already cleared our silverware so bloodshed was avoided. You've been warned: you may get the urge to sing along while in this bar, and it ain't karaoke. I'd go again. Good spot for after-work drinks with office friends but not 'going out' office friends, or your cool parents who like good food but not stuffy restaurants. Don't take my work on the food, though. They managed to serve me beer without much trouble.

Okay, this place is a bit corporate. I mean it has Gene Simmons, the king of commercializing everything (usually not in a good way) as a co-owner. But there are a bunch of good things as well. Wednesday is pint night. Buy one of a handful of selected beers and you get a pint glass as well. For $5.50, and good beers on the list (no Bud), it's a good deal. Food is tasty, but fairly standard. They do have the obligatory green chile items on the menu, so that's cool. But the beer selection is quite good, even a little of the locals, which is appreciated. The servers are descent, and appear to be learning something more about the beers. The last two times I have been in, I have had really good beer conversations with the servers, and gotten some good advice. Nice. I really love the old-school music videos they play on the bazillion TVs ringing the place. A throw back to my childhood that is very cool, but may not be for everyone. The patio is nice in the summer.

Place is getting better. Food is good now and service improved. Only thing is we had a loud mouth sit next to us and was intoxicated but nobody said anything to him. He started talking to us and wanted to shake my wifes hand. I didn't want to start anything so I left. Where's management?

I tried it for the first time today for lunch. My waiter was Marco; he made me feel welcomed and gave great service!. I sat outside alone and Marco was very attentive. I asked for recommendations, as it was my first time, and I tried the calamari based on his recommendation. It was great! I will return. The 3-6 Happy Hour looks inviting. I like the atmosphere; especially the music. The menu looks great; we will return to munch our way through the menu :)

When asked where do I want to go on vacation, I've always replied: "The 1980s, of course." Well now I can, right here in Albuquerque. Chicago style hot dogs and a side for $3 bucks, Gene Simmons sitings. It's also a sports bar--more real than the real ones. It's only missing those fog machines that we used to have on the dance floor. I played air guitar with my fork--I was like in a trance. The excellent service will make up for anything that is missing--or anything that gets spilled from your KISS interpretations. Don't waste your time trying to get a groove on with that new scene: go only to Rock and Brews. Point of clarification: the late 1970s and the early 80s ;)

Rock n Brew remains a fun hang out. But a simple truism applies here: Waitstaff need to write down customer orders. And customers probably should insist on it. On our fourth visit, Three of four items we ordered came out wrong. And the serving staff didnt know. We just ordered beer and hamburgers. The manager was fantastic and took care of the meal without us even asking. That was way more than nice for burgers and beer. But honestly there is a point there. When we eat out we value having no problems. If we want to deal with problems, we would just eat burgers at home. We will be back to enjoy more burgers and beer here. This place is a nice addition to the ABQ scene.

Typical chain food. Nothing really stands out to impress. The loud rock is to distract you from the below average service and mediocre food. The server made it a point to cut down other restaurants which after experiencing their food they should focus on making their food and service the best before knocking down others. If it was not for meeting my girlfriend's work associates there, I would have passed. Definitely nothing worth coming back for here. I am a big fan of Gene Simmons and his KISS brand. This concept is a poor knock off of Hard Rock Cafe which is about the same standard as this. Sad.

There's bar food and then there's GOOD bar food! This place GREAT bar food. Had the ultimate burger...so messy it's super tasty! Hubby had the wings which were yummy too! I must comment on the iced tea just because it's a hot summer day today and it was crisp and refreshing! Plain old tea done right. Great service, fun atmosphere. Not your typical rock n roll touristy place in my opinion.

Shout out to the server who took my order of G'Knight from Oskar Blues and said "You want the Gee Knight?". Hmmmm.... Brews is in the name, brews are 50% of the concept here, but Rock and Brews is hiring people that don't know shet about beers. Sorry, Rock and Brews, Billy's right down the road already has the clueless-employees-for-a-niche-craft brew-spot claim on lock. We really don't need another place trumpeting the great brews it serves but offering servers with little or no interest, knowledge or understanding of good beer. Shout out to my server again for bringing my beer right in front of me as if she were about to hand it to me, but then setting it down on here side of the bar and walking off. Wait, what? Why not just hand me the effing beer? But even better, the gal walks off and disappears for five minutes while I stand at the bar awkwardly. None of the other servers bothered to even look in my way. Fail. This place is a zoo, man. Rock and Zoo's a better name. Insanely crowded. That's kind of par for the course for Albuquerque, a city where people flock to shitty chains like pigeons when some seed is tossed their way. Ambiance, quality, taste all are afterthoughts for the majority of clients here and Rock and Brews seems to be setting the bar as low as these clients demand. Seriously, if you want shitty service, average food, and a decent beer selection from inept, clueless servers, just head to Billy's and support local. No need to bother with this glorified Applebee's capitalizing on KISS's name. Also, don't believe the hype on the overall Yelp score here. It's pretty obvious that most of the 5 star reviews on here are from people that haven't dined or drank here. I wouldn't be surprised if these reviews are from employees or management. Yet more evidence of the sleaze factor this place oozes.

Tacos were great! Try the radler beer cocktail it's amazing! Your food was great especially for an opening week. Your server was slammed and still pulled it off. If your manager wasn't a jerk we would likely come back. I asked for skrumpy he said it's $18, I said for a skrumpy? That's a little much. He said oh it's a big one. I asked bigger than the usual one? He says well it's bigger than a regular cider. I said I know that's how they come and I have never paid $18 for one anywhere in town. To which he responded "well if you don't like it you can leave." I have never had anyone treat me like that in a restaurant. Lorenzo was his name and he continued to stalk our table. Hoping that you hire better managers because you have lots of potential!

The seating situation got improved, however the customer service and food quality is still mediocre, therefore they only gained one star from my last review. The seating is still pretty bad for most of the diners, they put really high tables instead of all those wooden benches, but they still have some benches left, and your still sharing tables with multiple groups. Basically, if your planning to visit, try coming when there will be no rush so you can get a comfortable, regular, private table and chairs. Tried a burger tonight and it was ok, pretty bland honestly. It was the fire cracker burger, eh, the bun is huge and makes the burger look enormous, but it's a facade. It's decent, again it wasn't revolting but same hand it wasn't truly satisfying

I realize that we came in at 12:45 on a Friday. The place is hopping and it took about 15 minutes to get a seat. Our server has been very pleasant. My complaint is that she took our order 28 minutes ago.... Still waiting. I will continue this review if/when we get our food. Tick tock tick tock. The food finally showed up- and it was reasonable. Decent bar food, gluten free if you're into that- I love the music videos on the walls :-)

Don't let the name fool you, this place is not just rock and alcohol, it is great for families of all sizes and ages! Strawberry fields salad with salmon and asian wings were delicious! Our server, Val was friendly and attentive, she had a wealth of knowledge about the extensive beer menu. Being a new place that everyone wants to try, it is loud and busy, but worth the wait. Welcome to Albuquerque Rock & Brews!

I had lunch at Rock and Brews on a Monday. I was seated right away, and had prompt service. The food was prepared well. I had the chile burger which came with large strips of green chile. I was excited about that until I took a bite and there was little to no chile flavor or heat. A friend had the Bleu cheese and bacon burger, which he was satisfied with as well. Atmosphere was positive, music was good. I'd go back if my companions wanted to, but probably not a place I'd go back to on my own.

First of all, if you take your kids there, you're a moron! This is an adult drinking and partying establishment with nothing to offer in the way of a family environment. It's also very loud with the occasional cuss word floating by. Okay, so the first thing that ticked me off was that when they delivered my beer it came in something that resembled an 8 oz. cordial glass. When I inquired as to why I got such a small glass the waiter explained that any beer with over 7% alcohol (mine had 7%) is served in an 8 oz. "tulip" glass because they don't want people getting drunk too fast on beer with a high alcohol content. Sounds responsible enough but how about telling your customers that up front before you pour their beer and why does an 8 oz. beer cost as much as a 16 oz. beer? It's not the alcohol! Between the three of us who ordered food from the menu, the wings were great, the pizza was good and the burger sucked. So, nothing special there overall. The music was good and they even show videos of the group playing their song. Albeit, some of those musicians are getting pretty old and don't look quite as good as in their heyday. I think this would be a good place to meet friends for a drink after work as long as you don't order any beer with over 7% alcohol in it. That's a rip-off! Eating there is really dependent on whether you're starving or not. I wouldn't go there just for the food. It's not that good.

YUMM-O!!!very nostalgic for my sisters and I. Being an 80's kid, it brings back some cool memories. The service is a rockin pace, the drinks are fabulous and the food melts on the palate. A great place to relax on a comfortable saturday afternoon.

You may have gotten a 3 MAYBE a 4. My wife, another couple and myself stopped in on late on a Saturday. We haven't been yet since the line is usually ridiculous. Decent atmosphere, nice art, had to crane my neck while sitting in a booth to see the tv's but overall not horrible. Why did you get a 2? Ana (I think) our waitress started out great. When my buddy ordered a Bud Lite, she got indignant...I can't let you drink that! WE have so many other better beers here, what about this, this, this or this? No he replies, just a Bud Lite. Ok she reluctantly agrees. Comes back with a flight of 4 other craft beers. Goes on to embarrass him into tasting each one which he likes some and not others. Ok she says, NOW what do you want? A Bud Lite he says. Now, He and I drink ALL kinds of beer. He was drinking a cherry ginger shandy from Leinenkugel's before we left the house. We hit up local brew pubs ALL THE TIME. But you know what? Sometimes a guy just wants a plain light beer. Shame on her for assuming he had no beer taste. Shame on her for embarrassing him into trying something "new." Shame on her and her "better beer than thou" attitude. We'll probably be back but hey Ana...we're in our 40's, we can order whatever beer we want! Oh and ps I'm not paying that much for a soft pretzel...not even if Gene himself serves it.

The food is pretty good, typical for a sports themed place. The ribs were good but reminded me of Applebee's because of the sauce. I didn't really like sharing a picnic table but it would be just right for a group.

The service was crazy slow at 5pm on a Monday night, food was bland-even their touted green chile was token plastic no flavor much less heat bulk packet type, and overall the meal was super costly for the result. We tried the heffe beer cocktail (should be called watered down beer), chile cheese fries (fries decent but toppings no flavor), harvest salad (fresh ingredients but drowning lettuce from enough dressing for three dishes), pulled pork sandwich (sauce was good and at happy hour price very reasonable), and purple rain dessert (chocolate was good, absolutely no raspberry flavor). Best parts of this place: outdoor patio where your dog can dine on the pup menu, some local beers on tap, and if you're into TVs there's a lot of them. After a couple of hours here we don't feel the need to return. However if someone asks us to go, we'll give it another shot.

Had a great time on a lunch visit Halloween day! Staff was dressed up in various rock star costumes, Gwen Stefani, Amy Winehouse, Hendrix, John Lennon, early Madonna, one of the Blues Brothers & a few others which I couldn't place. One patron came in dressed like Gene Simmons of KISS! A dead ringer! Tongue and all lol!! Was nice to see them enjoying the day and added to the cool ambience. Totally enjoyed seeing old music videos on the plethora of mounted tvs everywhere, like the early days of MTV. That was pretty awesome! Now on to the food...was pretty decent and did a good job on my hamburger. Enjoyed a house style margarita too. Overall I had a great time. Would come back with some friends for HH :)

The Coachella Burger kicked ass! My Daughter ordered the ribs , they were tender & meaty, high quality food! We drank water & soda. They have a doggie menu, outdoor pet friendly. The atmosphere is cool, a lot of Rock & Roll album covers on the walls & ceiling! Plenty of tv's to choose from . Awesome place !! Albuquerque is fortunate to have such a classy , quality establishment !!

Went to Rock and Brews a few days ago for dinner and had a great experience. The beer selection I had heard so much about definitely didn't disappoint. The food was good too, I tried my hand at their pulled pork sandwich, which was great, and the garlic fries as an appetizer. Everything tasted good! The service was rock solid too. We were seated relatively quickly and our waitress was very attentive and helpful. The outdoor waiting area by the fires are a nice touch and make killing time before being seated much better. The atmosphere is great, lots to look at, good music, and they were showing the world series games. Definitely want to try this out for some football games.

I would definitely recommend the Mac n cheese for a appetizer. It was so good! It is very filling though. I got the margarita pizza which was good too but nothing special. The "rain drops" was good as well. I had the desert to go so it got hard by the time I ate it but it was still good. If you don't like raspberry sauce, make sure to get it on the side because it is drizzled on the dough balls.

Had my first experience here on a Sunday afternoon. Football on almost every screen and there are plenty of screens. Hostess and waitress very friendly. All types of fans so you can't call this a specific fans bar (yet). Now the food. Pulled pork - was dry and the sauce was a bit spicy. Not horrible but not amazing. Fish&Chips - comes in a 3 piece with not so fresh fries. Quality check should have noticed that one piece had half the fish missing inside the crust. Chicken Strips - was chicken strips Asian wings - had good flavor and a larger portion than expected. One wing under cooked. So I guess 7 out of 8 not bad? Hamburger - patty cooked well and French fries not fresh. My biggest complaint was the pour on my pints of Left Hand Milk Stout. I have had at a almost every location that sells it. Who ever poured the stout I had was not done correctly. This could be because of inexperience. I will try this place again and write another review but this is my first impression. I think this place could end up being great. Has to ensure quality even though the first few months will be banana crazy. Management cannot let sub par food leave that kitchen if you want to compete with already established local hang outs.

I wasn't that impressed with Rock and Brews. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't all that good either. For me, when I hear the name Rock and Brews..I would picture large frosty mugs with beer. They had dainty glasses for beers like flutes. I had a burger and it was alright. I had a house margarita and the drink itself was extremely salty. I felt like a cow with a salt lick. There was nothing that really stood out about this restaurant. For me it was just blah. There was about an hour wait on a Friday night, which isn't that bad for a new restaurant in Albuquerque. Everyone flocks to new restaurants, so the wait was expected.

In from the Texas panhandle for a couple days, this place was recommended from some locals and I liked the idea of rockin out to some classic rock videos and such, and the food was reported to be great. Service was excellent and prompt, servings were ample and well prepared. Loved the tri tip tacos. Little mix up on my 2nd beer, another server brought a sample size not a pint. But my attentive server promptly noticed and had the pint in front of me mere moments later. I will return for more beers and the great food and service! !!

This place is going to do so well in this city. A sports bar that isn't Buffalo Wild Wings is exactly what's going to make a killing. As far as food? The ribs. They're amazing. Compete with the likes of some of the top barbecue joints in town.

  • Micah N.

Shocked to see that this is the first mention of this...unless you are at one of the only 7 booths in the entire place you are eating next to everyone else in the whole place...be it an over weight girl who thinks she's a pin up stuffing her face on BBQ ribs or the guy next to you that hasn't bathed in a week... Had planned on staying for an entire lunch but just wound up with a giant pretzel...prolly won't be going back.

I came here for lunch on a Tuesday and as others have said this place was packed. I really did like the whole setup of this place with all the rock art and tv's all around the restaurant only thing I didn't care for were the picnic benches as tables. Anyways overall this place is a pretty cool place they have a large menu with just about everything you can think of ranging from burgers to pizzas. The beer menu was impressive as they have easily over 60 beers available on draft and on bottle. Wait staff was also really friendly and knew the menu well. Overall this place is worth checking out especially for being in Albuquerque!

Great service! I especially like that they incorporated green chile into their menu. We ordered a burger and the pulled pork BBQ sandwich. Both were delicious! I also would recommend the Jacked Up Margarita. The manager of this restaurant invented this drink.

Went to this place because of the beer selections. I wasn't disappointed. We were able to secure a table in the bar in the afternoon on Saturday. Service was great, food tasty and beers were coming out of my ears. So a good vibe but I wouldn't wait in line for it. lol

  • Briahna S.

We went here on a Saturday and it was packed, but no wait for a table. It reminds me very much of the Hard Rock cafes, but with waaaay more TVs. It does have more of a bbq joint feel than hard rock, with wooden bench tables running along the middle of the restaurant. But they have boothes, tables, and outdoor seating as well. I was impressed with the waitstaff. They really seemed to work together to make sure everyone has what they need at the table and they are super friendly. My husband and I split the fireball burger, which was very good, spicy and unique. It's hard to find an original spicy burger in NM, but this one is. The aoili is what makes it. The fries were very good and fresh. My kids split a pepperoni pizza and said it was yummy. The pizzas look great. I will have to order one next time. I did see a play gym outside for kids, but my kids didn't get to experience that after I heard a girl sounding like she was hacking up a lung out there. I do hope they clean the play area often, but I'm not taking chances with rude parents who let their sick kids around other kids. And I know the restaurant can't control that, beyond doing their best to keep things clean. I have to admit I was disappointed to find that Rock & Brew is a chain. I prefer to support smaller restaurants and bussiness. But the proof is in the pudding. They are doing a lot of things right and we will definitely be back for more burgers, pizza and great beer!

Although the salad was good the description was better just wish they met my expectations. My hotdog was a bit cold but I really think it was the condiments on it. The calamari was excellent for a land locked state. Four stars.

One thing I will state is to be cautious of any review posted before the date on mine for those are all "friends and family". And of course, we all have our own opinions of good, bad or indifferent quality/service/price. This place is worth a try and I will definitely be going back to try other foods and beers.

This is a great place for after work happy hour or to come and watch some games since they have tv screens all over. I like the open space and the outdoor patio. Definitely a good place for groups. The mixed drinks are so so seemed a little watered down to me; however for $3 dollars you can have as many as you please. The appetizers are reasonably priced and you get a good portion of food, not to mention the food is decent. They even have a dog menu for your pooch. It resembles a kid menu to me, but I'd be likely to bring my dog here just because of that.

Not impressed! Okay so we waited an hour for our table! I order my food and it took 40 mins to get while my friends had theirs. The waiter claimed he put it in with the rest of the orders! But they forgot to cook it WTF!!! We never got refills! We had to ask! The waiter was never around! So we had to ask other waiters ! The Catchup bottles are not full! The place seems like there is lack of organization!!! And it is a hot mess! Waiting for ever to get a seat, your food, and like 80 different waiters !!! .

My first time visiting this restaurant was with 2 other adults and a child. All three adults ordered a burger and none of them were right. The server had a terrible attitude and the bar was very slow to make a vodka with cranberry juice. The manager seemed nice when we requested to have our order fixed to how we ordered them which we really appreciated. She later offered to take care of all our food which was even more appreciated. I'm not sure if I will be back here anytime soon, they definitely need to work on their team a little more and have a smoother running restaurant.

So My wife and I tried rock and brew yesterday lunch for the first time. We wanted to wait till it died down a bit before We made it in. It definitely stands out above any restaurant as far as ambience goes! The patio looked nice. Open fire pits made it look really swank! Thought the play area for kids was a nice touch. We were sat inside though. Food was amazing. Calamari was the best the misses and I had. No joke! I had a pizza and she had the yellow sub for lunch. Very filling! Purple rain drops are now our favorite dessert! Man those were good. Not much of a beer fan but thought the food was worth the $$$ Service was pristine! Stephany C was just the best. Ask for her next time you come in for consistently awesome service. Our drinks were never empty! We will be coming back again!

I was excited to try this new place but was quickly disappointed by the lack of service. My husband and I ordered burgers. i always order mine burnt to a crisp... shoot me, it's the way I like it. My husband ordered his medium. Mine came out medium and his came out raw. It was disgusting. I gave him mine and they made me a new one which took for-fricking-ever! A lot longer than it should have. We were there for an hour (went at 4:15; not too busy) and shouldn't have been. Once I got the burger it was very good. My husband ordered a beer on tap which was not cold. I think they need to re-train the people in this place. I especially didn't like watching all the servers standing around doing nothing. I noted one server handling and playing with the straws at the bar that go in your mouth. Gross. I probably will not return to this place. Sorry KISS I was not impressed! And what a dumb place to put it! People drinking and driving in Albuquerque's worst intersection. What I liked: The music The ambiance (except the lights at the tables were way too bright and hurt our eyes; the manager did cover it with an apron for us) The many tv's and video's

Called to order take-out, followed prompts when the call was answered to "press 1 for take out", waited on hold for 5 minutes after the girl answered and then was told that she had checked with the manager and "they weren't doing take out just yet- but you can come in and order at the bar". Really??????!!!!!

Not a bad place! The bf and I are big rock buffs and had to check it out for sh@%s and giggles. Food is pretty good pub food and looks like the chain specifically made the menu NM friendly. We came here on a Tuesday night so it wasnt crazy busy. Service was awesome...can't really complain! Got a burger cooked perfectly medium..surprising! Great variety of drinks..good beer selections! Flashback music vids rule!

I called a day ahead to make a reservation for a party of 10. I made a point to call during a non busy time. They told me a Manager would call me right back. She did call right back & then proceeded to explain that they only accept 3 payments for large parties. She suggested I tell all my quests to bring cash. I thought the comment/company policy (she said) was rather rude not to mention discouraging to larger group gatherings. Our server "Rocked" & was amazing! He took all our payments & didn't hold to the Manager's statement. The food was delicious & top notch! Way above average quality & taste! I'd go back.

Service is non existent. Table of 6 sat and waiting for 10+ minutes for acknowledgment. Maybe 4-5 tables in entire place for lunch. Food 3 stars.

I tried this place recently and keep going back. The drinks are expensive but the beer selection in particular is excellent. The food that I've had thus far has been great also. I had pretty low expectations because I assumed this was more or less a loud freezer to fryer chain style restaurant but the wings, pizza, and burgers are great. Waits are what you'd expect also. Lastly, it's a pretty good place to watch a game, I don't like it so much when they're just playing music cause it's so loud but overall I've had pretty good experiences here.

I'm usually not the corporate restaurant kind of guy! This is my wife, mine, and our two dogs (Uncle Earl and Col. Claypool) second visit! Where do I start! For us being dog friendly is a super plus! Having multiple TV screens with an abundance of sports, but also the most awesome retro music videos on a few screens and good speakers, piping those tunes. I give the staff 6 Stars! They are attentive, kind to our dogs, and just a pleasure to talk to. Many restaurants could learn a few things about customer service from these young people. Who obviously like their jobs and employers. I met one of the owners, Scott Paul, and he was so cordial he brought out our dogs ice cream treats and hand fed Uncle Earl. We then discussed The Grateful Dead Concerts in Santa Clara for Saturday June 27th and Scott agreed to stream it at Rock & Brews. He plans food and drink specials for the occassion and wants to do this at his Orlando, FL. Location. So all you Deadheads a fun night to Shake Your Bones and party with fellow Grateful Dead fans&

Ate there today, had an issue with the computers going down which caused our food to be delayed. I absolutely understand that this type of thing can't always be helped and our server was very good when explaining what happened. We got great service and even when things happen, great service helps. Just a few tips for those that haven't been there before: 1. There is community seating, meaning the hostess will take you to a picnic style table that may or may not already have people sitting there. They fill the tables, so if you don't like that type of seating, you need to ask for a booth (there aren't many) and be prepared to wait. 2. No one told us when we ordered, but the iced tea is a tropical blend flavored tea and they have no unflavored tea. I didn't care for it, some might, but it would have been nice to be told in advance. 3. We ordered the garlic parmesan fries and they were great. You get a large serving though, so be prepared!

Great atmosphere for my taste. I arrived not knowing what to expect but was presently surprised when we sat at the bar. The staff was attentive, lively and personable. I loved the selection of adult beverages and the prices were more than reasonable. I got the Brussel Sprouts that were good but not worth $9 for an appetizer. I was able to sub out chicken instead of beef at no extra charge for my burger. Overall happy with my experience and worth the trip.

I went in on Wednesday morning and got some of the best customer service I have ever had from the waitress Ines (I think that's how you spell it). She was very sweet and checked on our table and made sure our drinks never went empty. The waitress recommended the fish tacos and they were delicious! She knows what she is talking about. I will definitely be in again for the great customer service and the amazing food.

I love the open air seating, even when you are inside! The Asian chicken wings are very tasty and the green chile cheese burger lacks the "heat" but makes up for it in flavor.

I decided to try the new place out on a Sunday evening. When we walked in, we were greeted cheerfully and seated right away. I can see the allure of this place for Abq. The atmosphere is relaxed, 80's rock music playing loudly and wall to wall TV's. We read the menus and our server came to the table within about 5 minutes. I ordered a Pilsner beer that was on the menu and my kids ordered a soft drink and a water. Another good 5-7 min passed by before the server came back to deliver the drinks and to tell me they were out of the Pisner. I opted for another beer and asked if we could place our appetizer order at that time. Beer showed up, not really that cold, though. Calamari appetizer showed up too within a reasonable time. When our entrees arrived, I was satisfied with the fish & chips, my son said his pizza was good, but my daughter's child order of chicken strips was either way over breaded, over cooked, or both. She ate all the fruit and left 3/4 of the chicken...or breading on the plate. Overall, the food was OK, but nothing to write home about. I'd compare it to Chili's or Applebees. Really, my issue is with the service. Our server did not bring any part of our food to us. While watching the tables around me, she didn't deliver any of her food. It was always another server walking by who picked up dirty plates or refilled drinks. Which I appreciated, but that wasn't very timely. It just happened to be someone who noticed us just sitting there waiting for someone. We wanted to order dessert but we didn't see the server to ask for a menu for 15 min...I watched the time because I was getting irritated at this point. After another 10 min, she came back to see if we decided. Because so much time had passed, I decided against dessert and asked for the bill. I'm not exaggerating when I say I waited 20 minutes for her to bring my check. When she finally came back, instead of leaving the check on the table, she said "Do you want me to take it up for you right away?" I asked to take a look at it first. She charged me for the beer I never got, and I then realized when she asked me if I wanted regular fries or sweet potato fries with my fish & chips, that the sweet potato fries was a $3 upcharge. Making my fish & chips about $13. Way too much for 3 tiny pieces of fish and some fries. I don't mind paying an upcharge, but let me know about it. I pointed out the additional beer on my check and she said "Oh, she didn't take it off the bill." Not sure who the "she" is. However, she did get it corrected and returned quickly. We paid and upon exiting were wished a good evening by the host stand who really was probably the best part of the experience. Service that bad has made me decide that I don't need to return. I can get food like that anywhere in Abq and at least I won't have to wait so long for service.

Rock and Brews is a super cool place to see and be seen. I love that it caters to families, a great play structure for our two small children. I love that there is a great selection of beer to chose from. I'm not a big drinker but I love that the staff seems to know what they sell as they had great suggestions. The food is as yummy as anywhere else I've been in NM, even offering that great chile flavor that NM is so known for. My server was fantastic, super friendly and seemed to be very happy to be at her job. For a place that has only been open a few weeks-- BIG best of luck to them, as they are off to a great start! I will go back and recommend to all of my friends.
