This is definitely one of my favorite lunch spots. They serve Boar's Head products and so their prices are a little bit higher, but the quality is definitely worth it. My all time favorite is the Cubano sandwich. It's delicious! My current favorite is the Hula Girl. This sandwich is a special so they don't always offer it on the regular menu. My only complaint about this restaurant is they run out of food every so often. Not much worse then going to a restaurant for a specific sandwich or salad when they have 86d it. I'd definitely check this place out! It's local deliciousness!

For gourmet expected a little bit more. Didn't have horseradish for a roast beef sandwich. I thought that was a little odd even Panera Bread has that. The potato salad was mediocre taste was okay but it's almost as if it was mash potatoes that were made into potato salad without the usual chunks and creaminess of potato salad. It gets so busy I wonder if table service would be better then waiting in line. Having servers seems to go along with gourmet food. Nevertheless it wasn't a bad location and I'm willing to give it a try again.

I just took my first trip to this much talked about lunch spot. I tried the Cubano because I was told it is their best seller. I loved the chipolte mayo, but the bread was very hard and difficult to eat with out cutting my mouth. I tried my friend's muffuletta and it was very tasty, but not much olive salad which, in my opinion, it what makes a muffuletta great. The meat and cheese on both sandwiches were very good. My niece had the kid's plate, which looked delicious! Slices of turkey and havarti cheese, green beans, tomatoes, bread and pickles made for a healthy, appealing plate. It was very clean, the service was friendly and fast, and there is a huge selection to satisfy many different tastes. Although the food was just OK, I will absolutely try them again. Maybe I'll get the kid's plate...

I was in the mood for a sandwich, so naturally I utilized my trusty Yelp app to point me in the right direction. I'm in agreement with the consensus here... Four stars it is! We split the spicy Italiano and the Cubano, with both pasta salad and potato salad sides! Oh.muh.GAH did I just love the flavor and texture of the bread, and the very fresh cheeses. I wasn't crazy about the pasta salad, but I really liked the potato salad's smooth and creamy texture and bold flavor. I felt that the pasta salad lacked in herbs and spices; which could have been fixed with a stronger Italian herbs infused dressing of some sort. The meats in both the Cubano and the Italiano were super fresh and thick pieces. As I said before, I loved the bread. I thought it was going to be crunchier, but it had a hint of crunch on top followed by a soft perfect sink-teething-doughy-goodness. I would probably purchase baked bread from them alone from time-to-time (if offered). I would definitely give this place a try. With tons of sandwich places around, it's hard to know where to go these days; plus get the best bang for your buck. I would highly recommend the portion/price ratio with the genuine taste of the meats and cheeses coupled with my ever-so-loving bread. ;)

Stopped here to pick up something for a picnic lunch -- the sandwiches are on the expensive side, but they were very delicious! I had the tuna sandwich (based on other Yelp reviews I had read) and it was quite lemony and fresh-tasting and delicious. The baguette was crispy on the outside but soft enough that it was easy to eat as well. The "Albuquerque Turkey" that I had a bite of was delicious too (the green chile was mild rather than spicy, but had good flavor). But I was most impressed by the kid's plate. At most restaurants I can expect nothing better than pb&j or some grilled cheese on the kids' menu -- and Relish definitely has those options, which I'm sure are fine -- but my kid isn't that into sandwiches. So I was pleasantly surprised to see that they offer a kind of antipasto that they call the "Kids Plate," which features pickles, green beans, slices of turkey, cheese, grape tomatoes, some soft slices of baguette, and a cup of what I think was applesauce. Perfect toddler food. Will definitely come here again when we are in the mood for a picnic!

The Albuquerque turkey is very good. I also love the side pasta salad. There is plenty of good items on the menu to choose from. A little pricey for a sandwich but I do enjoy it once in a while. Wish there were more locations. Since this is pricey and pretty far from where I live I do not visit often. For the price and long wait times you would think there would at least be waiter service. Customer service is just ho-hum. I probably will not be back for quite a while.

I've been here a few times and I keep ordering the same thing: tuna sandwich with potato salad. Sounds boring, right? Well, this tuna sandwich is truly special. The tuna salad itself is made with high quality tuna - I'm not sure where they source it, but it comes in larger-sized chunks as opposed to the nearly-disintegrated tuna you find in most cans. The tuna salad is made with capers and lemon zest, but it's not overbearingly sour at all. Finally, the sandwich is served on a fresh baguette that provides just the right amount of exterior "crunch". The potato salad is your basic, traditional potato salad, but it is more than the sum of its parts. Not too heavy, not sweet or weird. Just a classic potato salad. Finally, I was pleasantly surprised that the iced tea tasted fresh even though I was eating my meal at an odd time of day. Yes, you will spend a couple bucks more here than at a chain sandwich place, but it's worth it.

Sandwiches are very good. Reasonably priced for the quality of ingredients. The atmosphere is nice with a large seating area.

Excellent sandwiches! I love this place and the fact that they keep earning awards for best sandwich in the city should be a good indicator. I have tried several different sandwiches. The Reuben is very good, the muffuletta is outstanding, the cubano is great too. And don't miss the potato salad, that is outstanding too. My only complaint is that they tend to run out of some things so if you want one of the most popular ones like the muffuletta, get there early.

Good sandwiches-a little on the pricey side and it always takes forever to order and to receive our food. I've been several times and am usually pretty happy, but don't come if you don't have at least an hour. I probably stood in line for 10-15 minutes with 4-5 people in front of me. Then it took another 20 minutes or so for our food to come out. This last time around, I had the fresh mozzarella and tomato salad and an iced tea. It was a lot of food--would be nice if it came with a couple of slices of baguette. My daughter had the Spicy Italian (or whatever they may call it) and she chose the chips as her side. My son had the kid's grilled cheese. His came with waffle-cut green apple slices, which he loved, and juice. I also bought him a side of chips. The food is good and I'll come back--I just think it is slightly over-priced and slow service. My two kids and I paid $37 for lunch.

I stopped by because a friend had recommend the tuna sandwich. I was super happy an excited to find a place that offers fresh an tasty tuna sandwiches. The price was lil expensive but soooo worth it! The sandwich was HUGE! I actually had 2 meals from it. I had made the mistake of leaving the 2nd portion in the baguette. Which became little soggy. I asked a lady if I could purchase another baguette which I didn't know was the owner. An she was super helpful an offered one for free. She was excited about her food an you could see her passion about the food an the service. That made me excited to come back again an try more sandwiches. The service was amazing an again food was awesome.! I will be returning in the very near future! Highly recommended an will be telling all my friends an family!!

I really wanted to like this place after all the good reviews, but unfortunately I did not think it was that good. First of all it did take quite a bit for our food to come out, which is strange because it was not busy when we went and it is just a sandwich. I had the Cubano. I did not like it, the bread was very hard. I understand the bread is suppose to be crunchy, but this was just difficult to eat. There was also hardly any pickle on my sandwich, in my opinion that makes the sandwich. I had a side of pasta salad, which was basically pasta with one tomato and way to much balsamic vinegar, and I love vinegar. My daughter had the Italian sandwich, it wasn't bad, but the bread was very small in comparison to everything stuffed in the sandwich. I liked the decor and the staff was super friendly, but unfortunately I didn't enjoy the food.

Had heard good things about this lunch spot from a friend so I thought I'd check it out. When I arrived there was no greetings from anyone other than to tell me abruptly that they were out of fruit. When I enquired as to whether a sandwich could be made hot I was told that it was already on toasted bread. Needless to say that was not an adequate answer so I asked again in a different way and was met with a "yeah, sure, I guess". The food itself was lovely but when I went looking for carrying out containers I was again met with resistance. The girl ignored me at first and when I asked again it seemed like an inconvenience to her to help me at all. With all that said, if you don't mind a little diy, come for the food not for the service.

Awesome little sandwich spot. Very popular, and for good reason. I liked the Cubano, that's their most popular and they have won awards for it. That being said, they have a wide selection to choose from, along with daily specials. A variety of sides can accompany your sandwich; I tried the potato salad and found it just a little too peppery. Great service, they were prompt and had a smile on the whole time.

My office ordered a large to-go order here and were surprised to learn that they automatically charge a 15% tip on all to-go orders. We said okay although we were a bit shocked that any place would do this. We always leave a tip on our large orders but 15% for not eating in the restaurant seamed it bit too steep. One of my co-workers called in after the main order was placed and wanted to add his order to it. They said they now were going to charge 20% tip on the order!! or a to-go order! We asked why? and they said because it was now over ten orders. All the places we order at never charge us a tip and are perfectly happy when we leave $10 or more depending on how large it is. We understand that there is some work involved in putting the meals in boxes but not the amount of work that there would be if we ate at the restaurant. Almost everyone ordered a sandwich which was wrapped in tin foil and placed in a box. I'm wondering what the 20% tip was for? and one of the orders placed was wrong. The food was decent enough, the bread on the sandwiches was toasted to the point where it cut the inside of your mouth. Our office has not ordered with them again because we have a price limit on how much we can spend on lunch. A mandatory 20% raised to many eyebrows with the accounting department.

This spot was listed as a runner up for Best in City lunch spots. I ordered the Albuquerque Turkey that came with a pickle spear and I got the potato salad side. All was pretty good; although, I could not tell that the toasted bread was sourdough but again overall the food was fine.

New owners again. Staff seems very unhappy. Waited WAY too long for the muffuletta. Was told they don't prevalent them per new owner. Sorry can't wait 50 minutes for a sandwich on a 60 minute lunch. This place just keeps getting worse with each change.

i used to love this place. its gone down hill fast! my cubano did not taste right. the food took double the time I'm used to receiving it. all the drinks at the soda fountain tasted watered down. relish is on the expensive side of sandwiches, but i didn't mind since the food was great! now i feel like I'm getting ripped off.

  • Yar S.

The sandwiches are really good. The prices are reasonable. So far so good. But the cooling in the summer is insufficient, and the piped in music is anti-ambiance. Mixed bag for me. Did I mention the sandwiches are good? And the potato salad and the pasta salad are both very nice. I would give this 3.5 stars if Yelp were sophisticated enough for that. Alas, I err on the favorable side. I try to be nice.

I've been coming to Relish as long as they have been open! Great food and friendly staff! Cubano is my favorite!

We had the 1/2 mufalata with green chili stew, and the reuben with the stew. Sandwiches were good, not the best we have ever had. Good portions, and well prepared. However, the Green Chili Soup (stew) was outstanding. Loads of chicken, and the green chili is great. Understand the owner makes it herself. Would I go back? Yes, I would, but I would try the Cubano next time. I too disliked the music (?). Too loud, and sounded like heavy metal. We go to a restaurant to eat, not listen to that.

Coffee is $2.68 and it is not even good. It's hard to find among the tea? The grilled cheese sandwhich was not grilled? I use iron skillets and butter. They don't. The cheese was barely melted. The tomato i asked to have in between never saw the grill and it was cut where the disposable brown core was included in the sandwhich:{ NO THANKS!!!

Since Bliss sandwich shop closed I heard about this place via a friend. I have yet to have a crappy sandwich or service or anything negative to say about this place. Service is pretty quick and friendly, atmosphere is relaxing. Expect to pay at least $10 or more for lunch. I don't mind since they are a local business.

I ordered 2 sandwiches because I don't feel right about reviewing a place if I've only tried one thing on their menu. I ordered the Albuquerque Turkey and the Cubano Especial. Neither sandwich disappointed. The Burque Turkey was melty and delicious. The tomatoes perfectly brighten up this rich sandwich and the green chile gives it the pop of spice that I think every sandwich could benefit from. The sourdough bread was toasted a perfect golden brown and the cheese was at the perfect ooey-gooey melting temperature. As far as the Cubano went, it was pretty darn good. The baguette is a really nice touch--giving it terrific bite that only gets better with gentle toasting. I personally think the Cubano needs a little more pickle and a little more zest (maybe from a punchy mustard) but other than that I can't complain. The sides they give you are HUGE. I ordered the potato salad and the pasta salad. The potato salad is really good with: hard boiled egg, mayo, mustard, and the perfect amount of salt and pepper. I have to agree with other reviewers about the pasta salad, sadly. It could definitely benefit from a bit of salt and a bit less balsamic, and the pasta is definitely a bit overcooked (it falls apart as you try to stab it). All in all, very tasty sammies...I just couldn't give them 5 stars because they are pretty pricey.

This was my third visit to this location of Relish. The positives -- great food made with fresh ingredients. I've enjoyed their Cubano, Ham and Cheese, and a special Albuquerque Turkey. They were all quite good. House salads are great. Based on reviews I tried the pasta salad this last time, but was not a fan. Far to heavy on the oil for my taste, but I can see why others enjoy it. In general, the sandwiches and the main salads are the real stars here. The negatives -- 1) on all three of my visits the staff at the register where you order were unfriendly. No smile, no greeting, no eye contact and they were pretty abrupt making me feel like I was just adding to their stress. The staff that delivers the food to the table also was not super friendly. I know they are really busy, but this is the first impression on the customer and Relish should do much better. 2) This place is fairly pricey for a sandwich joint, particularly when you order at a window, get food in a plastic basket ($9.50 for the sandwich and the salads), eat with plastic forks and get your own drinks ($2+) in one of those old red plastic cups like they had at Pizza Hut). 3) The wait. It can take 20-30 minutes for your order, so plan accordingly. Relish is lucky their food shines because it their ratings up, but they could rock 5 stars with a few important tweaks.

I've been to both Relish locations (Menaul & Rio Rancho) and was equally as impressed both times! I've ordered several different things before and been happy with them all. Today I ordered the new Albuquerque Turkey, and boy was it tasty! I had the coleslaw as a side- this is always my fav, because they put slices of granny smith apples in it so you get that perfect combo of sweet/tart/salty. The food is always fast and fresh. Staff was friendly and even cleared our table for us after we ate. I love sandwich shops, and this is by far one of 505's great ones :) I'd have to say the prices are a little high compared to other shops, but I think the food is well worth it.

David introduced me to this happy, little gourmet sandwich shop on our first date. Although their color scheme, or lack thereof (grey, white & a little mute blue?) leaves little for the imagination, I like their colorful chalkboard menu behind the cash registers. Because the food is fresh & delicious, I choose to overlook this slight, design faux pas with the ugly, angry armed pickle (or is it a potato with boxing gloves?!) The staff is always polite, & even the cooks have helped me get a to-go box or a cup for water in the past. The tropical iced tea is heavenly, refreshing. I bet they cater a mean party!

Good food but way way too slow. It's not difficult to make a sandwich. It shouldn't take more than five minutes. I could have gone to the grocery store bought ingredients and made my own sandwich in the time they took to make one. Good food if you have time.

The food is always good here. I ate the isotope sandwich and it was great. The restraint has plenty of seating and is. Good place to read a book or get away from a busy chain place for lunch. I recommend it for children too. My daughter love to eat her is is our lunch spot.

Wow. First we need to address the longgggg wait. I thankfully read alot of reviews and prepared myself. Unfortunately, I did not tell my husband and every 5 minutes felt like eternity. We both ordered the Cubano sandwiches and they were so delicious. Now that my mind has wrapped around the 40 minutes for the sandwich I will look at it like I place to relax bring in our tablets because the food is worth it.

Awesome environment, great music, nice lunch place. Got the roasted turkey and it was delicious. Very laid back staff and a cool card delivery system. Recommend this place to anyone! Will try the cubano next time.

I hate to write a bad review, I know restaurants have off days. Which is why I came back several times, hoping for a better experience. 1. Overpriced - I understand it's Boar's Head, but it is not worth the pricing. 2. Staff is always rude, and snobby. Unfortunately, this has been my experience every time as well. 3. Very slow to get a sandwich, even on busy days. 4. This is minor, but the decor is uninviting, chairs are uncomfortable. It's a cold sort of decor with too much space. 5. Most important. Every time I have come here, I have gotten sick. I thought it was the potato salad - which was room temp when I got it - the first time, possibly the cold cuts were bad? The second time, I got a hot sandwich and a bag of chips. Still got ill. The third time, cold sandwich, no side. Got ill again. A few of my coworkers went there, and they all got ill. It's hard to like a place when you get ill from it several times, and the other items I mentioned.

This was my first time there and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered their new Hot Turkey sandwich. It was wonderful. The sauce was tangy and the roll was nicely warmed. The pasta salad, although somewhat bland to look at, was tasty. The restaurant is clean and inviting. The servers are warm and helpful. It's a great value for the price.

Similar to other reviewers, I once loved this restaurant. I had been going there for years and always loved the food. I am assuming new owners have taken over in more recent years, and accompanying these changes the food has decreased in quality, gotten more expensive, and the service has gone downhill. I understand you're busy, but when I call in an order for a single salad and I'm told it will take 10-15 minutes and I arrive to pick it up in 20, I don't expect to have to wait an additional 20 minutes. Most recently I even asked front money back and to disregard my order because the wait had gotten inexcusable. No coupons, no free drink, and no apology of any kind was given for the brusque and slow service. Sorry guys, what was once a favorite restaurant is now off my list of places forever. If you still want to go, try going early or late in the day, or make sure you have about an hour and a half to spend. At this point, the food is pretty good, but not worth how poorly it's run.

At the recommendation of a close friend I ate with a few people at Relish in March of 2013. Relish has all the essentials for a great restaurant: wonderfully delicious food, a clean environment, and a pleasant and knowledgable staff. Their homemade style is refreshing and tasty. When the food arrived at our table the great presentation did not disappoint. I knew that I would be returning to Relish and my nine-year-old cemented my positive experience when he said: "Mom, when are we coming back here? My grilled cheese was awesome." Music to a momma's ears after eating at a non-playground establishment.

Love Relish. Chop chop salad is my fave and my hubby always gets the Cubano. Wait time for lunch is usually a little long even for takeout but whataya gonna do?

  • Eric And Jennifer R.

They have the best coleslaw I have ever had. The green apples makes it sweet and tart. The chop chop salad is an excellent choice. It has mizuna mix greens, beets, feta, grilled chicken, chickpea, petite green beans, olives, red bell pepper, and tomatoes with a lemon vinaigrette and baguette. Since then, I have eaten at Relish several times. I have not been disappointed with any of their sandwiches. My favorite is the smoked apple turkey.

This place makes good sandwiches. A little overpriced, but very good. I would have given them 4 or 5, but disagree profusely with one of their policies. Me and my work colleagues ordered several sandwiches from them and they informed me that they have a policy that if you are ordering more than 5 or 6 sandwiches for carry out, they will need to charge 10% or 20% more. I asked the poor girl to clarify with the manager that was the policy and she said yes.. I am not sure who made up this policy at this restaurant, but I hope the owner realizes that these sorts of policies does not promote new business. We will not be using this company for company lunches due to this policy. It could have led to some good sales for the owner.

Yummy! I love Relish Gourmet Sandwiches. I have had the Homemade Mozzarella, Cubano Especial sandwiches and the Pasta Salad as a side. All were just delicious and I recommend you order them. The Relish Gourmet Sandwiches is wheelchair accessible and has an accessible restroom. The seating is limited due to the restaurant's size so I often order take out from them. When I have eaten there the place has magazines to read and is a nice place to dine. The order counter is very high but the staff is very attentive and very accommodating. My only complaints are I get a busy signal when I want to call in an order during lunchtime. They often run out of the Pasta Salad and Mozzarella several hours before closing. Clearly, I am not the only one who loves this place!

Ordered Double decker Ruben with chips for pick up. When I got home there were no chips in the bag. Which absolutely sucked. Then the sandwich had way too much sauerkraut on it and way too little meat. For $10 I expect more than 2 thin slices of corn beef, 2 thin slices of pastrami and 2 inches of sauerkraut. I tried to call them to let them know about the chips but no answer. They weren't even busy. I had just been in there. Not a good experience at all.

My favorite sandwich joint in town. I know when I go to Relish, I'm going to get consistency and quality ingredients. It is one of my favorite lunch places, and I have been known to go there a couple times a week if I'm craving their food. The atmosphere is inviting, and there is usually plenty of seating, even when busy. The only problem is the parking when it is around lunch time. I will park on the residential street if there is not parking available in front of the restaurant. It is good place to call in an order for pick-up as well.

I have been eating here for a good couple years and i make a point to eat here at least once a month. Sometimes the wait is a little long but I'd put up with pretty much anything to eat the best sandwiches in ABQ. The Cuban is a 10/10 The Roast Beef is a 9/10 The Reuben is a 7/10 The Pasta Salad is a 10/10 The girls operating the register are very friendly and interesting.

I've eaten at this restaurant a total of 5 times so far and have tried a new sandwich each time, I've yet to be let down by this place. The employee's are very friendly, the establishment is super clean and food is divine. Of the five items I ordered I'd have to say my favorite is the Grinder, coupled with their pasta salad.

I've been to Relish many a time for their sandwiches that blow chain sandwich joints out of the water. Today was no different. My order got mixed up with another fellas and not really feeling like a Reuben I just pointed it out to the manager- no biggie. She proceeded to correct the mistake and give me 2$ off coupons for my next order. What's more, she came to my table as I was munching and asked if I had ever tried the muffaleta. She went on to describe how amazing it was, and mentioned it held up really well as a sandwich for later. Then she gave me that sandwich to go as I was heading to work. Most thoughtful move by a server ever. Actually thought about what sandwich would be best later and then hooked me up for a simple mix-up. Awesome. Can't say enough about the place, their food, and their service. Relish is a shining example of what local businesses should be. Invested in their product, their staff, and their customers. Patronize the crap out of them. You will not be disappointed.

I came by here after searching for a Boar's Head Deli in the area. I could tell right away that it was going to be good when I saw how many people were here. I ordered the Cubano sandwich and was not disappointed. Absolutely amazing!!! I will definitely be back.

We've been to Relish twice now and enjoyed it both times. Staff is friendly and helpful and they turn the food out pretty quickly, even during the very busy lunch rush. (As others have mentioned, get there early. They sell out of a lot of things, which is a downside. I don't know if they don't have enough room in their kitchen to stock enough ingredients or what, but it is a little bit of an issue.) The sanwiches are a little pricey, as others have mentioned, but I don't mind the cost because the quality is there. I've had the Cubano and Italiano and both were delicious. (I feel a little better about eating the Italiano since it does have some veg on it.) I really want to try the Mufallato but it was sold out both times I've been. (Clearly, I need to get there earlier.) I'm confused by the comment from an earlier yelper that they don't care to vegetarians. They don't have a huge number of options for them, but they don't have a huge menu all the way around. I think the percentage is about normal for your average restaurant and my vegetarian boyfriend has liked his food both times we've been. (Last time he got two sandwiches and was pleased with them both, though they both needed some extra salt and pepper.) We've liked their sides too though, again, the potato salad was in desperate need of some more black pepper. The slaw is normally good, if you like green apples. I do, so it's fine by me -- I've been tempted to get some to put on some pulled pork BBQ -- but it's definitely not "normal" and should be so noted. Our last visit we got the last bit of slaw (they 86'd it right after we ordered) and it was a little watery, but it wasn't like that in our previous visit. The restaurant itself is nice a big inside, which is good since, as I mentioned, it gets busy at lunch. There are only 4 tables outside which is a shame, but it can't be helped given the strip-mall location. We'll be back. Gotta try that mufallato!

We use Relish for all of our lunch catering's when we serve cold deli sandwiches and the response to quality that we get is overwhelming! Great customer service from the time we place the order via email or phone! We also eat here on a regular basis and the Cuban is out favorite and the bread is amazing! Cheers to all of you and kudos!

Before you go make sure your hungry, best bread in town, east coast trendy sandwich style. 1 thing tho, they have some Cuban pork sandwich, I don't know why they call it that it ain't got nothing to do with Cuba. Sometimes the staff is indifferent, but show them you black Amex and their attitude totally changes

Ridiculously overpriced and over rated sandwich. Owner pimps his on shop on all the ratings sites.

Probably the best sandwiches you can get in Albuquerque judging on quality and taste alone. I like my sandwiches on baguette bread that makes it nice and crispy, so my review is solely on those types of sammys. I'll be honest, I've never had their soft bread sandwhiches so I cant make any judgement there, but their atmosphere is hip, and relaxed and its not crazy noisy in comparison to some of your other busy sandwich shops... Everyone is pretty relaxed there. I've ordered their Ham and Cheese on baguette (my favorite), potato puree soup (special), scallop and prociutto sandwich (special), Italiano, Mufallato, side salad, side fruit. Eventho the prices of the sanwhiches are about $10 a pop, it still hasn't detered me in going over there because I would rather go for quality than quantity. If you order a sandwich and split it amongst two persons, they will automatically bring it out as split orders for you WITHOUT an additional charge. --- That is awesome -- most places would charge for split charges.

I've been to Relish lots of times, but today I was dragged across town to get a mozzarella sandwich. Well, unfortunately they were out, which limited their vegetarian options to one uninspired sandwich. I left and won't go back-there are just as many good, if not better options. And, besides, who wants to wait the seemingly normal 20-30 minutes for a sandwich, or pay close to $10 for it. Pass!

Great sandwich. This is our third trip and the food is consistently good. Unfortunately, the staff is also consistently unwelcoming.

On a cross country road trip this popped up as one of the best sandwiches in Albuquerque. Don't think we could've made a better stop! Staff was super friendly, service was super quick and the sandwiches were AWESOME! We got the spicy Italiano and the tuna. Highly recommend both!

This place always has great sandwiches. Each time I try something different and haven't been disappointed yet. Last time I had the new the Isotopes sandwich and was pleased. Only thing to avoid on the menu is the potato salad, if you close your eyes while eating it you might think it's mashed potatoes.

Love this place.. My favorite is the Muffaletta.. Fresh bread.. outstanding meats.. good tangy dressing and an excellent olive tapenade. Paired with the apple slaw.. Perfect lunch! Girlfriend loves the roasted turkey. I swear it's the only thing she eats when we go there.

I've been to Relish several times, and, despite the 2-Stars, I don't dislike them. It's probably closer to a 2.5, but I'm going to go ahead and round down on this one. First: it should not take 25 minutes for two cold sandwiches to be made. I'm sorry, but there's really no excuse for this. The restaurant was busy but not packed. Although the cashier did tell us this would be the case before we ordered, so bonus points for that-- we weren't expecting it to be right out. The sandwiches were good, nothing too special but reasonably fresh ingredients, etc., and the second half of my sandwich tasted just as good the next day.

Let's start with the $2.25 I was charged for a fountain drink. I realize charging way too much for a fountain drink is normal in the food service industry. But $2.25 at a sandwich shop is just out if control. Second I stopped in for lunch. It took 20 minutes for my sandwich to make its way to my table. I verified this on the receipt. The woman that brought me my food said this is normal. 20 minutes is too long for a lunch break. The food was nothing to brag about. I was happy to see they use Boars Head meats but my sandwich did not have much of it. If you are going to charge me $9+ for a sandwich load it up with meat. Not just two thin slices. I was not impressed and will not return. You will be better off going to Smiths deli. They have Boars Head and the sandwich actually comes with some meat. Even subway is better and literally half the cost. One more thing.... The pasta salad is not that great.

It's a sandwich. But I wouldn't say it was gourmet, can sandwiches really be gourmet? I thought it was decent, but my roast beef could've used a little salt, just a dash, the coleslaw was good, but for me it was just a bit overpriced. Nice setting, good service, but overpriced.

I will have to say that the tuna sandwich is really delicious - one of the best that I've ever had even though it is a little on the expensive side at $9.50. The pasta salad... well... the balsamic dressing they use is too overpowering. I couldn't finish it. Stick with potato salad or the slaw. The Reuben and the Muffaletta are also winners. I went recently and the kitchen was having an off day - the sandwiches took 55 minutes to come out. I later complained to the management and they took care of it. I guess even the best of restaurants are entitled to a bad day once in a while. I would rate it 5 stars but I'm knocking it down to 4 based on the price being a little high and the service being slow. Otherwise it's a great little place and worth checking out.

Acts Like a Startup, Tastes Like Headed for Fame and Glory Atmosphere .3 of 1 star Cleanliness 1 of 1 star Service .7 of 1 star Food 1.7 of 2 stars This is a bare-bones eatery. I didn't see much of a market. It's a kitchen, service counter with refrigerator case, some tables and chairs, on the concrete floor and a soft drink fountain. There are two other reviews of this place, and two more for another Relish across town. Believe them. I had the Mediterranean, three others had the Cubano, and of them, the one bringing us said the Mozzarella is the best - especially if you save the second half for the next day - the flavors change he said, making faces like people in one of those new intimacy gel TV adverts. My sandwich was delicious. The Mediterranean was one fo the best veggie sandwiches I've ever had. ant quantity, don't go. But if you want quality, by all means stop by. My side was some of the best restaurant cole slaw I've had in a long time. Price for a sandwich, one side and fountain drink - $12.13

I've been searching for a great sandwich shop in Albuquerque for quite some time, but didn't find it at relish. Sandwiches weren't bad, but nothing to write home about, and nothing worth $10. The search continues...

So, for $10 I expect some pretty good food. Now, this sandwich, the Cubano, was two meats, cheese, pickles and mayo put on a soft baguette(the bread was probably the best part) put into an oven or probably a microwave. So, the sandwich was OK, a step above Subway. Now here comes the problem child: the pasta salad. It was ok, a little overly cooked and overly balsamic, which is probably better since the vinegar most likely sucked any life out of the cockroach that decided to take refuge between the bowties. Yup, that's right. Full on cockroach, tossed and everything. Completely dressed. I won't come back. Cockroach in the food is gross, but if I'm at a crappy ghetto taco shop near the board in San Diego I might be more forgiving. Cockroach in an upscale fancy place that everyone raves about and you pay out the arse for a sandwich is pretty much unacceptable.

It took just one visit back to remind me why I hadn't been to Relish in forever and a day. Used to love it, but now I can definitely live without it. Knowing it would take 20-30 minutes for my order, I decided to preorder. Spent 20 minutes on the phone having to repeatedly hit the redial button only to get kicked each and every time to a voicemail box that was already full. In frustration, decided to send order by email (an option on their website) in hope of getting a response. Still nothing. While en route (hoping by the time I got there the food would be ready), I was finally able to reach an actual person on the phone and got a verbal confirmation they had received my order. Then had to stand in line another 15 minutes when I got there since there is no mechanism to prepay online. Got back to the office and found out they included the wrong side with the sandwich (my bad, I should have double-checked my order, but I really shouldn't have to ... it was an email! The order was in writing. How do you get that wrong?). Sandwich so totally not worth the effort and I gave the side away. Over it. Done. Too many other places in Albuquerque to get good food without the hassle.

On my whirlwind food tour of Albuquerque food, we stopped at Relish for an early lunch. I have to say their Cubano is awesome. The bread is great and it is perfectly grilled. The turkey sandwich with granny smith apples is also pretty awesome. The customer service was fabulous. I think that the only reason that I would take a star away is because the prices are pretty high for the area. I think they are using great ingredients and making great food but it just doesn't fit the neighborhood during a recession. Oh and the salads here are awesome too. The cole slaw with apples in it is amazing and I'm not even a cole slaw fan.

Their sandwiches are always the highest quality. And the potato salad is amazing.

Seriously, the cubano is bomb. I get it with mozzarella cheese though instead of the Swiss and easy chipotle mayo. That really makes the sandwich go from "yeah that's good" to sandwich heaven. They make their own fresh cheese so the mozzarella is thick, gooey, and amazing. Also the apple slaw is refreshing and delicious. Pretty busy during lunch time and they often run out of ingredients after the lunch rush, but definitely worth the wait, so het there early.

Everything I would expect a simple sandwich shop to be. IN 15 years this will be on every street corner in the country if they can manage their expenses correctly and continue to use good ingredients and treat their people as well as they do.

A friend took me here for lunch a few weeks ago and I had really been looking forward to trying out this place. I had heard that the sandwiches were great. And while they are really good they were not really great in the sense that you would write home about them or dream about them. The potato salad was EXCELLENT. I guess for $10 I was expecting MORE meat! So my suggestion is go ahead and charge me $12 but give me more meat...... something I CAN write home about or dream about. Kick it up a notch. I'm willing to pay. I just want it to be GREAT! You have good quality ingredients and everything was fine but I just want it to be BIG and SATISFYING and MEATY! So if you need to charge more to do that, you have my permission. Increase that ratio of MEAT to BREAD so that it says................."oh yeah, baby"!

Absolutely the best sandwich shop in Albuquerque. The Cubano sandwich is to die for. I supposed I'm too selfish to say that it's too bad they are not open on Sundays *sigh*.

Very busy little shop and very slow service. the sandwiches and sides are delicious. The Central location was my favorite, but seems they've closed/moved. I'd give it 5 stars, but a good establishment is more than just their food. Calling in an order takes about as long as standing in line. (i.e. forever) Avoid the rush _11:30 - 12:30_. Call in before 11 if you hope to eat before 1pm. Plus side: Cubano, Double decker Rueben, yummy pasta side dish, yummy cole slaw. and delicious fresh house mozzerella that you can buy by the lbs.

Best sandwich in Albuquerque. Quality is superb. Flavors pair well. The Pasta salad is delicious. I prefer the toasted sandwiches to the cold ones. It's way overpriced. I can't walk out for less than 11 bucks for a sandwich, drink, and a side. But it's too good to resist sometimes.

Talk to Tony.... he is the owner, you will meet him as he busses the tables around you... getting his hands dirty as he makes the best sandwiches in TOWN. There will be a NEW relish up in Rio Rancho by the end of July, so EVERYONE get ur butt over there and make it a hit cuz I dont want to travel all the way to Menaul and BFE just to get a great sandy.

Relish is, I hear, a great place for big meaty, delicious sandwiches. As a vegetarian, I can only explore so much of a place like that. Yes, by the way, this is the same Relish, but is the uptown location for the classic downtown sandwich shop. The Reuben has a good tempeh-laden alternative to itself which is pretty tasty, but not very reubeny. I think I may be spoiled from the incredible veggie Reuben at Follow Your Heart in Los Angeles, against which all other veggie Reubens merely taste like veggie Couldabeens. The slaw was the most interesting part of the meal, which says something since slaw is usually the most boring part of a meal. This particular slaw was based around apples and light on the creamy junk. A welcome variation! So, if you, like my office-mates, are totally into meat, you will probably coo and kvel over your jerk-whatever. If you don't eat meat, enjoy your respectably munchable tempeh Reuben. But it's all a bit overpriced anyway, so maybe just grab a veggie burrito up the street anyway. Or down the street. Just look around - they're everywhere.

I discovered Relish when working at an uptown Law firm on Wyoming and Menaul. Initially I attempted to go to the Flying Star Cafe across the street, but it was absolutely jam packed with customers so I decided t check out Relish, which also appeared to be popular but not impossible to get to. Needless to say, from the outside it didn't seem quite as busy and when I got in there was a line, which to me is a GOOD sign for eateries. I tried the Mozzarella sandwich, which I usually go for something with turkey or chicken, however, when I asked what they suggest they said this sandwich was incredible. The Housemade Mozzarella is another favorite with roasted red peppers, arugula, and tomatoes are combined with mozzarella made in-house, lightly topped with a balamic vinegarette and served in an alpinetta roll. So I said what the hell. When I bit into this crispy baguette and tasted the flavors of the arugula, mozzarella, peppers and seasonings, I was SOLD. The cheese is VERY soft and pairs well with the crispiness of the baguette. I'm not a HUGE fan of WHITE breads, but this one I will definitely make an exception for. I've taken people with me who have ordered the Cuban sandwich and loved it. They are pretty large, and I usually only eat half and save the second half for later. They serve with deli pickles and you can get chips too, they have a good selection. This place is definitely a place to check out.

best sandwiches in Albuquerque, period. the sandwiches are sophisticated and not TOO BIG, a problem with lots of American restaurants! I love the Turkey and Apple sandwich, it's filling and healthy at the same time

This is a great place for a sandwich. The mozzarella is made fresh in house and I found plenty of vegetarien options. Everything was great, the only thing that lost a star was styrofoam containers.

I take my sandwich shops and delis very seriously and i must say this one stands up to the challenge. They offer a good variety of sandwiches and even offer the king of sandwiches, the cubano, and do a good job with it. The prices are a little high but from what I can tell they have good, fresh ingredients and I'm ok with it. It is a simple, plain little shop but it definitely gets the job done.

I am a little on the fence with this spot. I was starving for lunch and wanted to try something new. Before heading over I went on their website to see what my options were.. To be honest I wanted to try almost everything on the menu. When I got there I ordered their Cuban and asked for a half chop chop, minus the chicken and garbanzo beans. I did take the order to go, though I wish I ate in. The sandwich was GREAT! It was so hot (in temp) I burnt my tongue. I did get a bonus pasta salad with it which I think was an accident, but for my benefit. The pasta salad was not really what was described on the menu. There were no grape tomatoes, and no mozzarella. It was pretty much pasta, balsamic, and maybe a little dried basil.... The chop chop was awesome, however there was no feta and no beets (two of my favorite things in a salad)! I also think they practice pickle mummification, because for the life of me I could not get the pickle out of the saran wrap!! Overall, it is a pretty tasty spot!
