I love this deli and the ppl who eat here. I can't wait to try the borsch and blood sausage next time. I would give the golabki a B rating. I would roll them a little smaller with a little bit more rice to make sure you're not so fat and hard. Although I am extremely picky. The tomato sauce just missing a spice that my grandmother used. Pat said I love love love that this place is around the corner from my apartment. The selection of other items like white borsch and mustard is out of this world. I cannot wait to go back

After seeing a newspaper review and then looking at the reviews online, we had to check it out for ourselves. We drove up to the blink and you'll miss it location on this chilly night and thought, this is it? It was actually pretty full when we got there, and the polite young gal at the counter said to grab a couple of menus and sit where we wanted. On our way to one of the few booths, we looked at all of the freezers and counters full of Polish and German delights--pierogi, chocolates, pickles, noodles. We felt like gourmand kids in a candy store! We sat and our beverage orders were quickly taken, and the same polite young woman retuned to take our dinner order. We ended up sharing everything we ordered--the Russian Roulette Pierogi (they choose the variety for you), the mixed Pyzy, and the German plate with both beer and Polish sausages. Every bite of everything was fantastic! The Pyzy and pierogi were all delightful pillows filled with amazing centers. We liked the meat Pyzy best, and the meat and cheese pierogis were our two favorites. The German plate had 1 of each sausage, potato salad which had just the right amount of dill, mustard abs excellent sauerkraut with carrots. Mark, the fantastic owner, came to check on us twice and rang up our order when we were finished. We visited with him for a good 15 minutes. He couldn't be nicer, which just added to the experience. It's worth coming in, we know we will be back! We left with some chocolates, pickles and red cabbage too!

I have wanted to try this place out for awhile. I am so glad we finally did. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The owner took the time to explain everything on the menu and was quick to apologize that were out of a few things on the menu (they were hit pretty hard since they were reviewed in the journal last week). I tried their sauerkraut and mushroom pierogis, my expectations were high since my in laws make them from scratch. I was not disappointed. My husband had the polish sausage, beer brat, sauerkraut and potato salad. He said the sausage was very good. We will definitely be back to try the stuffed cabbage and the pork chop. Also, by the time we left the place was full with maybe one table left. You must try this hidden gem.

Went in and had an unexpectedly great meal. We tried the German Plate, the Italian Beef and a salad. All were tasty and well prepared. The next day we went back for Pyzy 's and Pirogi's. They were delicious as well. Highly recommended.

Wow what a gem. Terrible location, and the place has that run-down 60's diner feel to it, but the food here is really quite good, and impossibly cheap for how good it is. Try the (meat) Pyzy, wonderful little balls of potato dough stuffed with seasoned minced meat. You can get them with cheese instead, but the meat version is better. Stuffed cabbage also great. The sausage is also delicious and incredibly cheap here. Perfect for your next BBQ!

After having a crappy day yesterday on the Westside, I decided to drive to the Eastside and hoped for an upswing in events. I read all the reviews of Red Rock Deli on Yelp and was looking forward to trying something different. I was drawn by the temptation of authentic German food, having lived in Germany for awhile. Hard to find in the 505. As soon as I walked in the place, I was approached by Paul who introduced himself and pointed out the patriarch of the business, Mark. If you're looking for genuine people who care about their customers and food, you will never meet a nicer family. I was so moved by their graciousness and welcoming spirit. I was looking for something to take home and perused all the sausages they had displayed. Tom gave me samples of 3 different wursts and some of their potato salad. I was blown away--I love this stuff. They get all their products from Chicago and the wursts are definitely authentic. Mark then mentioned "Wienerschnitzel" and he captured my heart. It's a sandwich made with breaded pork, not veal, and you have to order in. He said that he originally named it the "Lincoln Pork Chop" sandwich because it was only $5.00 then (Lincoln on the $5 bill), but it's gone up now. I settled on Weiss and knockwursts with some sauerkraut and red cabbage. Oh so good and reminded me of Germany. But the secret here is to let them cook these specialties. I will gladly surrender to their expertise due to some lameness on my part in this department. Their menu is quite extensive: from the plain old hot dog to savory & sweet pierogi, gyros, Italian beef sandwich, stuffed cabbage, Polish/German platter, pyzy and desserts. I've already planned my meal for my next outing and it will include Nalesniki, which are blintzes stuffed with sweet farmer cheese FRIED IN BUTTER and served with sour cream & powdered sugar! They had me at FRIED IN BUTTER. To assure me of the goodness of all their food, Mark stated that his family eats what they serve. That should be a slogan on the wall. Mark and his family deserve your business, for their food and the graciousness they offer every customer who walks through the door. They are inviting you into their home and it is quite comfortable. I envision a lot of driving in the upcoming future. And Vielen Dank to you, Mark & family.

HOLY COW! This is the mother lode of fabulous Eastern European food, right here in the Que. We've been dying to try this place after hearing great reviews, and we finally did this past Saturday for lunch. The pleasant young woman working as hostess/waitress gave us a friendly greeting and seated us immediately. Once we placed our orders, my hubby struck up a conversation with the friendly owner - and he sent out two free cups of green borscht. It was fresh and flavorful, full of large chunks of potato and sausage, and small bits of hard boiled egg. Yum! For our entrees, hubby and I split the Russian Roulette pierogi plate (with onion & bacon), the Pyzy plate (also with onion & bacon), and the Polish/German platter (1 Polish sausage, 1 German brat, and big scoops of mayo-based red potato salad, sauerkraut, and sauerkraut stew). Everything was VERY authentic and delicious! We loved the variety (and surprise fillings) of the Russian Roulette pierogis, which had the classic soft, tender texture. The pyzy were apparently also a mixed variety (even thought the menu said "meat"). They were big, soft dumpling pillows stuffed with tasty ricotta cheese, meat, spinach and possibly other fillings too. Everything on the Polish/German platter was the BEST version of each ingredient that I've ever had. We gobbled up every bite of everything! Since hubby is of Ukrainian/Polish/Eastern European descent, and I have German ancestry, we've had plenty of these foods in the past. The Red Rock Deli's versions are phenomenal. Don't come for the atmosphere (it's an extremely casual, hole-in-the-wall kind of place), but DO come for the amazing food!

I had heard good things about this deli so we had an out of town guest who grew up in Southside Polish Chicago neighborhood. She was our resident expert for this restaurant. We were duly impressed. The "chef", from Northside Polish Chicago neighborhood - even came to our table to chit chat & talk about where he buys his meats from - Southside Chicago! We ordered the pierogi, stuffed cabbage, a polish/German platter (best was the smoked sausage, and blood sausage. It was all excellent with the stuffed sausage being my first choice. I highly recommend you try this place out. No room for dessert. Service by the young lady was excellent.

I am thoroughly pumped! When I walked inside, I had a feeling it was going to be something special. The smells were wonderful. It was very clean, organized and uncluttered. This isn't just a Polish delicatessen. Russian, German, Greek & American foods are served as well. Atleast those are the others I noticed on the menu. The owner serves food that he likes to eat (which I think is brilliant) and I can tell you he has very good taste in food. When he checked on me, I would ask him questions about his establishment. After a couple times, he finally sat down across from me and we chatted for the rest of my visit. What a great conversationalist! I learned of his life's journeys, how he got started and how he ended up in NM. The food was beyond good and well portioned. I had the Polish Polish sausage, pierogis and his borscht. The borscht was a first for me. It was excellent. The sausage and pierogis were so good I can't stop thinking of them! I can't wait to go back to try his other dishes like the stuffed cabbage and mostly his wiener schnitzel which he had prepared for the next day. He showed it to me and it was friggin huge. Check this place out when you get a hankering for something different. It's in a residential area and sort of easy to miss. Don't let the location discourage you. I'm pretty sure you will be as impressed as much as I was. The owner and his staff are very friendly and polite. Also, they will cook to your liking so if you like your dish a certain way, tell them.

This was a wonderful experience. The friendly staff didn't hesitate to make delicious suggestions. The location leaves something to be desired, but that's not their fault. It's in a strip-mall two blocks up Lomas from Wilson Stadium. The other two establishments in the strip mall are closed, and there are non-functional gas pumps in the parking lot. They used to be an old Subway, but appearances aside, the food is good and the service speedy. They have a wide selection of take-home pierogi and sausages, and a good little grocery where you can buy sweets, cookies, sauces, jams, and the like. I will be returning!

I grew up making perogis by hand from scratch - imagine how happy I was to find out I can get them at a restaurant without having to put the time in!! This small corner place has the BEST perogis I have had (other then the ones I was "forced" by my mom to make as a kid) in quite some time. I also ordered some German sausage and brats with sauerkraut and potato salad. The sausages were GREAT - esp the German as was the sauerkraut. The potato salad is not your traditional German style but is still good. Service was a bit on the slow side which I would normally knock a star off for BUT with the quality of the food it can be overlooked assuming it was just a bad day. Grab your lederhosens and stop in and try this place - you will not regret!

The absolute best chili dog I ever had. The hot dog is spicy. The jalapeños added to the spice. A delightful blend of cheese toppings, melted. And a great bun!

Sometimes (on the rare occasion) you get a craving for something other than green chile. I know, right?!?!? Well, this is the place to go! We scoped this place out on Yelp before heading up. The pics were like food porn! Well, since we couldn't order everything on the menu we decided to order our top 5 picks and share. Here is the breakdown: Ham n cheese sandwich with muenster Lincoln pork chop sandwich Stuffed cabbage Pyzy with bacon and onion Nalesniki's for dessert The sandwiches come with chips but another Yelper mentioned the potato salad. Order the potato salad. So much yummy love! Creamy, dilly goodness like you make at home. At night. For yourself. With the munchies. The Lincoln is one word: Epic. Chicken fried pork chop. Pure genius! The ham sandwich was so tasty, the bread they use is the perfect combination of sweet, chewy and crusty. The Pyzy was a dirty indulgence. For anyone who has had this before, you know it's not a low calorie food. Meat stuffed potato dumplings dripping in butter, sprinkled with bacon. Mmmmmmm. Bacon. The stuffed cabbage was next. Just the tangiest sauce and the right amount of sour cream leaves you salivating long after it's eaten. Then there was dessert: two sweet cheese blintzes in a tart berry sauce. Just absolute decadence on a plate! I hate to give reviews like this, because now everyone will try them out, spread the word and it will be take out forever. But go. Go now before there a line out the door and an hour wait for a table. Then curse people like me for talking about it.

I have a Russian wife so its great this place has some russian, polish, and german food.ive had the dumplings (pierogi) and brauts here. They also have food here that came from europe originally. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because they dont regurarly have their soup which is a shame because i really want to try their borchst.

Dropped in today for lunch. About two other tables dining today. The restaurant was on the hot uncomfortable side. Service was friendly and prompt. This being my first time here I let the waitress pick my meal and told her I wanted to experience the best they had to offer. She suggest the German/Polish platter with potato salad, sauerkraut and sauerkraut stew. Food was brought to me without any silverware and I had to ask another server for it. Now I am sure that this food is good, however my uneducated green chili burnt taste buds found it to be rather boring and lacking any real flavor. I have had better here in Albuquerque. Please do not get me wrong. Again, I am sure it was good but not really for me.

There is nothing like this in Albuquerque. Polish, German, and Russian food from a guy from Chicago. I had the Russian roulette, a variety of pierogi with grilled onions and bacon with sour cream on the side, and it was delicious. I really want to try about 15 things on the menu and I will be back. The best part is the prices - these are Chicago deli prices. My pierogi plate was $6 and almost the entire menu is less than $10.

Finally tried the Red Rick Deli. My boyfriend has been obsessing over their food, so I finally gave in and joined him. From the outside, it looks like nothing special; inside is a completely different story. The lack of "curb appeal" is completely washed away when you meet the owner, a very funny and kind man. It being my first time, he gave me samples of almost everything and treated us like royalty. In the end, I ordered 2 sausages (one that was soaked in Guiness beer!). They were AMAZING. My boyfriend ordered the Lincoln Pork Chop Sandwich which was to die for as well. We even got some small bowls of soup that his wife had made and it was phenomenal as well. While the outside may look unappealing, I will continue to give my business to Red Rock Deli. Their food alone is delicious with lots of options and the service is wonderful. They make you feel right at home.

This place isn't much to look at from the outside, but it's a hidden gem in terms of quality good food for a great price. I would recommend the burger and gyro. The other specialties also looked great. Great place to grab a quick lunch or good cheap dinner to go.

Incredible place!! Don't be fooled by the location. This place should be featured on Diners Drive Ins and Dives! I had stuffed cabbage and pirogies with bacon and onions. Unbelievable how great this place is!! Eat here!!!

This family owned an operated gem apparently opened in late 2014 and I just found it online. The owner, Zbigniew Mark Toczek, is extremely friendly and has been running his Red Rock General Store location in Blanca, CO for a long time. He made me some the best pierogi I've had since Poland and he has lots of other foods I haven't seen since coming back to the US. I'll be a regular so it's a good thing the prices are wallet friendly as well. Talking with Mark, I found out that a very unfortunate family emergency caused the deli to be closed for a short time. That's the reason if you see any reviews with those comments. I also couldn't find the hours online so I've posted a picture for anyone else who's interested. Please check this place out and help Mark and his family be successful here. We can always use more good food and good people in our community.

Great place to eat. I am a very close minded when it comes to food so I was very hesitant on this place specially with location. But I have had good experiences with hole in the wall places so I decided give a chance because of a recommendation from brother. I would say they are very good. I will be back.

I was in the area and wanted to grab a bite to eat. I looked on places near by on yelp, and the had great reviews. The place is small and has a homey feel to it. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the ham and cheese with Munster. It came with some tasty chips and a crisp pickle. The sandwich had pickled jalapeños on it which was a delightful addition. I like the place and will be coming back. Oh and did I mention it was affordable! I always love that

I eat here once a week at least ! Mark the owner is one of the nicest men I have met love eating here with my group of friends! He often stays open longer just so we can eat after work . His sons that work there are just as nice and with their help he will be open every day. I can't wait to eat that Italian beef on my days off !!!!!!

Delicious Deli! Got the russian roulette, double cheeseburger with bacon, and a sausage platter. Was not dissapointed with any of the dishes. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and there is a wide variety of snacks to purchase and try.

This place is amazing! Small little deli with wonders inside! Their speciality is Russian food and it was my first time eating Russian food and it was fabulous! Cheeseburgers, subs, desserts, all so good! They owners are so nice and caring to put the cherry on top :)

I highly recommend the meat or cheese filled Pyzy. Also really enjoyed the Russian Roulette. The staff are super friendly, and when someone from our party got the wrong order they comped us the meal. If you're looking to try something new, this is a great place.

  • Mike T.

Fantastic. I did not expect to find a place like this in Albuquerque, but it was a ridiculously pleasant surprise. I had the Polish-Polish sandwich and the Russian Roulette, which is 6 different types of pierogi. The sausage was delicious, nice and crunchy on the outside. They import the sausages from Chicago, which is awesome. The pierogis were excellent as well; it's difficult to find good pierogis, and these hit the spot. Not only was the food superb, but the staff working there was beyond friendly. Such a great experience. I really can't recommend this place any higher.

My family and I stopped here for dinner when we could not decide on what to eat and felt adventurous. It was very close almost walking distance from my home. The first good sign, many cars in parking lot. Second good sign owners greet you personally. I was not familiar with German food but no hesitation from the owner to describe and recommend items. The food was great! Exactly as described. It took a little longer than expected to get our food, but when you have eight people in your party it takes a little longer.I will definitely be back again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a great sandwich or authentic German dishes. Oh and by the way almost everything on the menu is priced below a fast food chain combo.

5 min from home. Great value!!!!! We sampled pyzy, borsched, German/polish platter with (super duper amazing) potato salad, regular kraut and the kraut stew. 2 entrees, 2 soups, 1 jar of pickles for $22!

  • Hannah H.

Slow service and not a pretty place, but holy cow the food is worth it. I have not made so many yummy noises during a meal in years. We split the Russian roulette (6 different pierogies) and the sweet Russian roulette (6 different dessert pierogies). We also tried the pyzy. Every bite was AMAZING.

Really great deli that specializes in quality meats, Eastern European and tubed meats of various sort. Pierogis are great, as are the tube meats, which are ample and wrapped in freshly toasted rustic bread rolls.

Not sure why they get so many 5 star reviews. Food was just OK, Portions were VERY small. Wait time was extremely long and the restaurant was not very full at all. I'd recommend passing on this one. Try the Gyro place next door instead.

This place is a real kick. Ask for the double barrel...2 brauts, sour kraut, great musturd on a super fresh roll. Not only do they have wonderful food they are entertaining with their unwavering desire to please. BEWARE: place is super casual and nothing fancy. It's however like experiencing magic for the first time.

About time to give this place it's due in hole in the wall of fame. Yeah, it's in an off place appearance wise but the food is king. Very clean and well stocked with treats to buy on the way out that are regional and just unique. Now to the food....yes it's polish/German/Russian mixed in with the owners skill at putting even the more basic sounding dishes ( German/Polish platter w/both sausages , scratch made potatoe salad and regular/beer based sauerkraut combination) up to a level you would never expect. The Pork Chop sandwich is made with regional ( Colorado, they have another location in Ignacio ) small farm source he contracts with to provide just the right meat/ fat ratio that keeps it so moist and yet just enough crunch to offset. Damn good!! Can never, ever , ever go there w/o getting the pierogi platter. The Rusian Roullette is fun but when he has specials like the jalepeno cheese onion pierogi on the board grab it. Wait times can run you into the 15 minute range easy if it's busy and you order any of the pierogi dishes but it's worth it. Be patient, check out the mini store and get ready to eat some mind blowing basic food done with love. Guarantee you will not be dissapointed, and you will be drawn back by memories of those delicious pierogi and other meats. Chili dog rocks too, nice and spicy homemade chili! Support these gems in the rough, we need more of them! Oh yeah- order your pierogi fried at the end of prep for the extra dollar, tossed w/a mix of onions, pancetta , and just over the top!! Peace Out 5000....

We just returned from a meal of wonderful Polish food. My wife and I are both from Chicago, my maternal grandparents were Polish immigrants, and my late mother's first language was Polish, we grew up in Chicago, so we think we know a bit about Polish food. The menu is very eclectic; in addition to Polish food, you can order a variety of food, including a broad range of German food, sandwiches, menudo, and a hamburger, but trust me, try the Polish food. We had dish named Russian Roulette (a platter of 6 different kinds of pierogi), the Polish platter (Polish sausage and two kinds of sauerkraut), and nalesniki for dessert. The staff was super friendly, taking time to talk with us, and brought us samples. They also sell a great variety of groceries from Europe, mostly Poland. We spent less than $20 on dinner for both of us, although we spent a bit more after we bought some groceries. Don't be fooled by the name or the location. I live near the Red Rock Deli and have driven by a hundred times without stopping, because nothing about the name or exterior hints at the delicious food and friendly atmosphere inside. The deli is next to a convenience store (gas pumps are in the parking lot) and the building used to be a Subway, but do not be put off by the appearance of the exterior. Try it, you'll like it.

Bad location but worth the visit. Not only is it great food, but it serves as a miniature polish grocery store!

Very good turkey and chicken sandwiches at wonderful prices. I have also tried the cheeseburger and was not disappointed. They have lots of little snacks and condiments throughout the deli, so it's great to see what types they have. Very friendly and easy to locate. I am not sure what Arlene was talking about, it's right on the corner of lomas and nikomas across the street from autozone.

I read about this place in the Albuquerque journal and have heard great things from people in the area. I had the Polish-polish sausage and was not disappointed. The quality is excellent and the owner flies the food in from trusted sources. He was very friendly and the prices are outstanding considering the quality of the food is top notch. I would recommend this deli to anyone and have already done so for my friends and loved ones. I work in the area and will be frequenting the red rock deli for lunches now. If you dont try it you are seriously missing out.

Being of Polish descent this deli was a great discovery for my brother and I. The Russian roulette, six different fillings in pierogi. Four of us tried four different plates and we enjoyed everything. We will be back often!

  • Sam J.

Really great! We had the pyzy, pierogies, and the polish polish. All the food was amazing-- especially recommend the sausage and the cheese pyzy. The exterior is very nondescript and the inside sort of plain but don't let these things put you off! The food is the amazing part and you aren't going to find anything else like it in abq. The staff were also super friendly! This was my first time here and they made sure to explain the menu. They were enthusiastic and knowledgable about everything and very genuine. I never leave reviews but because of the nice guys there and the great food I felt I had to!

This place is awesome! Tried it on a whim, live nearby. I've never had this type of food before and I told the owner to pick for me, he gave me a beer marinated sausage sandwich with sauerkraut, and it was amazing. The owner was incredibly nice and friendly and gave me great service, then when I went to tip him he tried to tell me no it's ok, he still got one for good service though. The sausage was incredibly flavorful, I could live off that haha. To top it off this place carries all that rare European chocolate you won't find anywhere else. I will definitely become a regular. This place is kind of a hole in the wall, but it's amazing don't doubt it. Also the store is immaculately clean. Looks like could be scary from outside, but the only thing scary here is how good it is.
