Rebel Donuts was easy to find on yelp and even better in person. Staff was friendly and courteous. Donuts were out of this world! The maple bacon was to die for! You could sit and enjoy the view with you coffee & donut and enjoy the beautiful mountains as a backdrop! Will stop here on our way through the west again.

Donuts are my weakness, my stuck on a desert island food. Usually I'm pretty happy with plain old chocolate frosted but everyone I know raves about Rebel Donuts. I gave it a try. I came in close to closing time, so my choices were limited. I got a toasted cocoanut and a Barney Rebel (covered in fruity pebbles cereal). Yum! Both delicious! I loved the decor, I loved the atmosphere. It was a little more than I'm used to paying for a donut but there are such different combinations and new tastes, I think its worth it. I'm definitely going back to explore more flavors. Sorry diet, maybe next year.

I was amazed how big donuts are in Albuquerque. I am not complaining, I love donuts. Then one day I stumbled across this place. What I really liked was that they have a donut with a piece of bacon. Yeah I said bacon! They have managed to combine 2 of my favorite things. My wife and daughters were in the area and decided to finally stop by this shop. The store offers some interesting donut ideas. They had a coco crispy and fruity pebble encrusted cake donuts. My wife and daughter tried the red velvet donut. The donuts are creative and very tasty. They are a specialty donut shop so the prices are a little more, but you get a great donut. If I could rate this place on the donuts alone then they would get a good rating. We entered the store and there was one employee. She was helping some people in front of us. Which is ok I didn't mind waiting. When she was done with the customers she basically asked what we wanted with a bad attitude. I was confused for a minute I thought maybe they do this because it is called "Rebel Donuts?" Is she is trying to be a rebel or something? The lady behind the counter had dark hair and some tattoos she almost seemed mad. When I was ordering my donut she made some comment that caught me off guard. I ordered 4 donuts for the family, when I was done. She said "are you sure you are done?" because I don't want to walk over to the register is you aren't. We finally got our donuts and I noticed there was another employee just hanging out in the back. As we were sitting there a couple guys walked in and the employee with the attitude was in the back. The guys stood around for a while and just left. Then the employee says, "Well, I didn't want to help them anyway." By that time I had enough and just wanted to get out of there. I don't know if this place wants to be a rebel or they just have bad employees. I won't come back to this place. I think the competitor's donut are just as good and I don't get poor customer service with it. If you really want to try this place, just run in and run out. There are better places out there. Cheers!

I'm not really a "sweets" freak, much less doughnuts. But, for what this is...it was awesome! There were so many choices that I just did what Libras do best, closed my eyes and started random picks. It was hard to decide, so I just went for it. I have to say that I liked the yeast dough better than the cake doughnuts. Try the Snickers Bar...yum!

I thought the donut names were creative, but the donuts themselves were nothing special. Donut likers may disagree (donuts aren't my thing). The tables were dirty (it wasn't busy). Which is too bad because the décor and tables were cute. The server was rude. I was also disappointed because they didn't have cold coffee options (or maybe the server didn't want to make them). Who wants to drink hot coffee on a hot day? I'll stick with the competitors.

I really like this place. I came in wanting a special order for my husbands birthday and the girl at the counter was really awesome in working with me and together we came up with a cool idea to have the donuts cut out in letters and then decorated. Turned out to be really fun and my husband really enjoyed it too!

The donuts are awesome, nothing short of spectacular-- but the store itself is, well, filthy. Sprinkles and pastry remains litter the floor, tables with glaze stuck to them and a high chair so caked in sugar we took our donuts to go. I wish this weren't the case, I'm now a little suspicious of what I'm about to eat after seeing grime caked floors and even behind the counter. Looks like there's enough staff- bust out the mop!!

I don't eat donuts very often. The day I visited Rebel Donuts I decided to see what all the hype was about. I ordered two maple/bacon donuts and two blue ice donuts. I took them to work and shared them with a couple of my friends. We were all impressed by the texture and flavor of the donuts. The toppings were good too but the dough was the real star. I look forward to going back and trying more of their offerings.

I became a "fan" of this place online due to seeing it on someone elses page and thought the donuts were beautiful! Because I don't live in Albuquerque I had been dying to try some. I finally had my opportunity as I was in town and wanted to deliver some of these beauties to my best clients. I drove a good 20 minutes out of my way, and was so excited. That all ended the minute I stepped in the store. A dark haired, female employee, with a clear attitude of "you should just be glad I'm here", hurriedly prompted me to get what I wanted so she could go in the back and continue chatting with a few other employees. It was clear that she couldn't care less it was my first time and I didn't yet know what I wanted. She basically ruined my whole experience. I won't be going back. I'm pretty sure I would've tried more and even ordered a shirt, but again, due to the weird "rebel" attitude, I was totally turned off. I will say, I needed to order my son a drink a few minutes after and a VERY nice petite pink haired lady came to help and was super sweet. If only I had her from the beginning. Is the "rebel" attitude part of the gimmick? If so, you might want to change your strategy.

I'm a doughnut connoisseur of sorts, they are definitely my favorite food. I've had doughnuts from New York to Los Angeles and everywhere in between and I must say, Rebel is quite possibly the best. The location is perfect for me, as I can walk from my house to the doughnut shop in less than 10 minutes, it's just across the street. The view is fabulous, the staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is very cool, kind of artsy. I'm not sure why I read some reviews of people not liking these doughnuts, maybe it's just weird people who are used to crappy store bought doughnuts. These things are the real deal, it's no wonder why this place is so famous. Every doughnut just tastes like absolute perfection. If you don't want something super sweet they have plenty of more normal options, like the chocolate cake with chopped peanuts or coconut on top, or the "blueberry pancake" doughnut. Unfortunately, unlike some some lucky folks I don't have a super fast metabolism, so I have to limit my doughnut intake to about one per week max, if however, some super pill comes out that allows us to eat anything and not gain weight, I imagine at least 2 meals per day would be at Rebel Doughnut.

Abq, Local, N.M. Shop and Staff As always as I walk in the staff greet me, and I always feel welcomed. This is a great westside location with lots of other places to shop and hangout. I love how different the doughnuts are, and how delicious they are as well. I don't have a favorite because I try to get a different one every time I go in. Food and Experience Of course the best time to go in is early as possible to get the freshest, and best selection of doughnuts. It is popular depending on the day. I have a few I would say people need to try, and they are chocolate raspberry looove, Irish coffee and cream, Boston cream, and the "blue sky" is the "classic" that people should know about. These are just a few of the crazy concoctions they offer. If I had to choose a favorite doughnut I would say the big kahuna. I am a monster dino when it comes to coconut, and whipped cream.

I've been to this Rebel several times. The store is always clean and the selection is always good. The folks who work there have a lot of personality, and I often hear them singing in the back while they are cooking and decorating and making the magic. I picked up 4 dozen donuts last Friday, National Donut Day (is this not a great country? We have a National Donut Day!), and gave them away at an event on Kirtland Airforce Base. People would be kind of "oh look, donuts", then they would see the Rebel logo on the box and it would change to "OH DONUTS!" These donuts are so compelling and delicious that even the grumpy woman who gave me a hard time about my job helped herself to three while her burning words were still fire in my ears. She couldn't resist. She hated me, but she loved Rebel donuts. You're welcome, grumpy hater lady. Now I'm hungry. I want a donut. Donut! Donut! Rebel Rebel Rebel !!

I loved the doughnuts I had and the variety of! I went in on national doughnut day and they still managed to take care of right, aside from the long line.

Apple m****rf***ing fritter. Eat them all. Now. Best thing i have eaten in a while. Everything is great. That fritter tho. Great staff. Didn't like my $100 bill though. If you like sweets and different flavors, this is the place to be.

I am a huge (and I'm not talking about pounds or kilograms) fan of Rebel Donuts! These guys know exactly what they're doing and how to please their customers. They have great and unique flavors, but also make new ones very often. This keeps us coming back, not just for our old standby's but for new mouthwatering flavors. Some of my favorites are the maple bacon donut (raised is better), apple fritter, breaking bad donut, french toast, white chocolate, and any of the red chile persuasion. What I really enjoy is coming in at the end of day during "happy hour" and picking up half price dozen donuts. Sure, they are from the morning I'm sure, but they taste great even a day later. It's also fun to me to see what might be left behind. No matter what, Rebel Donut is the way to go, and I certainly recommend them to my guests and any out-of-town visitors.

Easily the best donut shop I ever been to! I'm visiting from California and I heard about the blue Breaking Bad themed donut and had to try it...BEST DONUT EVER!!! This shop could definitely compete against "Voodoo Donut" in Portland. Very nice job, kickass donuts for sure! HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!

  • Jennifer J.

I always want this place to be better than it is The donuts are VERY heavy and VERY dry. The flavoring with extracts is very strong. You pay a higher price for donuts with names of other companies hard work such as "Homer Simpson" "Jurassic Park" & "Breaking Bad" etc. The shop is also always very dirty, even first thing in the morning. I have had better donuts from Albertsons & sadly I will continue to go there until something opens up with a better donut. This is not the place for quality but rather novelty.

Customer service is awesome! Every time I am in they remember who I am, what I typically order, and always greet me with a smile. When I first went in I can honestly say I was a tad over whelmed (in a good way) so many different ones to chose from! To my knowledge, raised was the only donut out there. The girl behind the counter did a great job explaining all the different types and flavors even recommending some based on what I like. She had a thorough knowledge of all of them which is very helpful. I never felt rushed which was great. the cost is very reasonable based on the variety and amount of work they put into the donuts. Great place to grab a snack or get some work done with their free wifi. I have now become a regular and that won't be changing anytime soon

I really am not a huge fan of donuts. To me they are a delicacy I normally don't crave; however, seeing the offerings this adorable little shop had made me change my mind. I picked up a half dozen including their boston cream, chocolate cream, raspberry filled, ocean. I could not resist these donuts and for that reason I will come back when I'm feeling like being bad, guess thats why its called rebel donuts!

The maple bacon donut was amazing and the coffee was wonderful. So much so that I bought a pound. I can't wait to return. The 2 gals behind the counter couldn't have been more friendly, kind, or informative. I will go back as often as my waistline can handle it. There are at least 7 more unique flavors I must try. Most donuts are just that; dough, perhaps a few nuts, and maybe some frosting. But these donuts are a unique, gourmet tasting experience. and not expensive to boot. Please don't buy all the maple bacon's....I'll want another when I next visit.

Let me just be up front with this one: I'm not going back here. Ever. Then why the 4? Well, some things just need to be rewarded, and just because I prefer my blueberry donut from the big orange sign, doesn't mean they might not make you happy. They just don't make *me* happy, but that's ok, as long as *you're* happy, then we're all happy.....right? So, the doughnuts are fresh, cheap, and readily available. I tried 4 of them (look, I workout, ok, cut me some slack!) and just wasn't sufficiently thrilled enough to turn my back on the orange oasis. One thing I really like is that it's local and they really do a great job with branching out and throwing things on there that you might not think are "traditional" doughnut material.....ok, I think they just put food names into a hat and make up random doughnuts, but what do i know. Alas, grab your insulin pump and head on over and prove me wrong, you'll prob be just fine....just remember to give yourself a few units (of insulin) BEFORE you start eating, helps take the edge off ;)

What you need to know about Rebel Donut before visiting is that they are not your typical donut and coffee shop. They specialize in what I would call "novelty donuts", meaning that you wouldn't necessarily stop here on your morning commute. They have an impressive variety of donut creations but many of them are too sweet for my taste. I enjoy simplicity in donuts. The donuts are incredibly delicious, though, and they are very moist and enjoyable to eat. That being said, I probably wouldn't eat here more than a couple times a year, or to show off to a friend visiting the area. If you are looking for somewhere to stop on the way to work I'd stick to Dunkin' Donuts or similar.

I just relocated from Dallas area and tried this place. I was disappointed as it seemed like it was just an original donut shop and overpriced. I may try again someday but in the near future I will bypass to find other donut shops.

Good donuts. Vegan donuts available before they sell out in the mornings. I like the meat/cheese savory, maple bar.

Two and a half stars. Counter service was super friendly, plentiful parking in the shared strip lot, and prices are very affordable. Decor was funky hipster and featured some cutesy local artists. As neat as their t-shirt and undies swag were, the logos they used could use more work. We snagged seating at the one table with an outlet at waist-level. No kolaches in sight, just a variety of prettily decorated donuts in a display case that don't live up to hype on the palate. My chai was pretty good with a nice balance of froth and spices; the mocha was less sweet and a little gritty for my taste. Perhaps we should've opted for the gingerbread or pumpkin lattes. La Vida Mocha was my favorite donut of the three we tried, but the peak of frosting had an unappealing flavor. Chocolate red chile bacon wasn't spiced beyond the Boars Head, and the rock candy crusting the Breaking Bad Blue Sky didn't keep it from being boring (props for the Jesse Pinkman photo). Despite my preference for cake donuts aside, the dough texture and flavors here were completely forgettable.

I really love this place. I'm not even a HUGE donut fan but I love going here. By far my fave donut has been the Fruity Rebel which has fruity pebbles on top. My daughter is the one who got it and at first I was like oh god that sounds so disgustingly sugary and then I had a bite and said Oh god that is delicious sugary perfection! I also really liked the lemon donut they have, but it's more of an adult taste, my inner high tea girl kind of donut persay ;) The prices are reasonable for sure, especially since it's a local shop and they have some really neat and delicious creations.

OMG love. Just so much love. I went here on a whim, driving by on the way out of town. And I fell in love with a girl named NUTELLA ON MY MOFO DONUT. Let me say that more calmly. Nutella. On my donut, y'all. It was like the heavens had finally found a way to Earth and guess what? It was spiritually moving. My only regret? Not eating the thing until I was already an hour into my 9-hour drive home. Because I would have gone back. Oh, how quickly I would have gone back for all the Nutella donuts they had on hand. Sigh.

So yummy. Love the ones with bacon. The french toast is so cute and of course good as well. So many unique options. Customer service could be trained better.

The donuts here are great and they have amazingly good coffee. We were on our way to Petroglyph and that was just our first stop of 3 National Parks in the day. We decided to give this place a try from your mighty reviews. I actually managed to not eat my donut until we had hiked around Petroglyph and were about halfway to El Malpais. That was an amazing fete as the smell was intoxicating. I got a maple bacon bar. It had a good amount of bacon on it. It was insanely good. Imagine French toast and bacon in donut form. Wonder donut powers activate! I have to say, I'm glad I was 60 miles away from the store when I tried it, or I'd have gotten another. My girlfriend tried one with fruity pebbles, which was delicious too. Yes we traded bites. Yes it was everything you could imagine. The coffee was really good too. I'm a new convert to no sugar coffee. Sometimes I regret it, but the stuff was so flavorful I loved it. Do your taste buds a favor and try this spot.

We popped in here looking for the Breaking Bad themed donut, but sadly they were long sold out. The associate working the counter (I forget her name) was very nice, and told us all about the donuts there, and how they made them. We didn't want to leave without buying something since she was so nice to us, so we bought the French Toast type donut. I forget the name of that one as well, but it was awesome nevertheless. I would definitely recommend it, but here's a tip: Go early :)

Donuts are one of only a few bad-for-you delicacies I don't crave. I don't understand why, exactly. Every time I eat one I instantly want another, and another. But when I drive by a donut shop my synapses don't go apes@#t like they do when I think of, oh... bacon... dark chocolate... chile... stinky cheese... imperial stout... Glenfiddich. Truth be told I came to this shop because A) I needed a place to work and B) I knew the reviews were stellar, so I figured I'd find out what the hype was all about. Oh God, someone please save me... I'm feeling a Prince moment coming... That's when I saw her, Wooo! I saw her She was on the Fancy Flavor rack She was a red chile chocolate bacon donut The kind you find in your wildest dreams Red chile chocolate bacon donut And if it was was warm... something that rhymes with dreams Sorry, I was raised on Prince. Anyway, I bought the bastard, and a fancy shmancy lemon donut for, I don't know, varietal purposes. I should'a just done two of the choco thangs because you only live once. But the lemon was very nice, too, tangy and lemony. Look, just go get one of these rebellious orbs, okay? This place is the definition of the great local zen master treat shop. And the staff were really cool, pierced, tatted and still especially friendly, and the concept was cool, and there was a picture of Jesse from Breaking Bad kissing a box of blue meth-colored donuts, and there was a Homer donut and these cutesy concept donuts for Easter with chickens and eggs and I bought my daughter this Over the Rainbow donut, too. And did I mention it's cheap? Really, the prices are somewhere from a buck to a buck and a half. That's a very fair deal. So you have no excuse, even if - like me - you do not experience cravings for these lil' rounds of cakey delight. Support your local punk rock donut shop.

Just moved to the ABQ and had a serious craving for some donuts. After looking over the list of sugar providers, my husband and I decided to hit up Rebel Donuts. OH.MY.GOODNESS. I can honestly say that Rebel Donuts will have us as customers as long as we're in the area (military). My husband loved the French Toast donut while I was over the moon with Barney Rubble. Our son was drooling over the bacon maple bar and couldn't get enough. The service in the shop was wonderful and the donuts were extremely fresh! We were definitely fatty happy campers!

The words....they are hard to find. First, I want to say that I awoke early to be one of the first in line but more importantly, I wanted to execute my duties as an elitist yelper and be the first to add the establishment and rate it. The donuts. The main attractor. First, this is my first visit to the business. Many have told me they are worth the trip to the east side, but I compete (try to) in triathlons. So, anything representing a calorie I convert to miles run, biked, or swim to burn off. So, while intrigued, I never went. Their competition is one of three basic venues. Store bought (ie Smiths) Dunkin, or crispy creams. In my opinion, containing them in that category is a mistake. While they all do make donuts (and good ones across the competition) Rebel lives up to its name. They use a donut as a canvas. It's there, but it is not the reason why. Clearly, the donut engineers are throwbacks to Monet, and perhaps Dali. They are the "crazy ones" to quote Steve Jobs, as they are crazy enough to change the world of donuts. Yes, they have a glazed. And a sprinkle. But they are unnecessary. They take up room in the case. The staff. I met the manager and some of the staff. I asked if one lady was an owner and she said "no, just a donut geek!" They were wonderful, and while they had some equipment issues, (first morning jitters) it did not matter. I ordered a dozen. First, a few safe ones to satisfy the natives. Triple chocolate, a glazed, and a cake. Throw in a bavarian cream and a cookies and cream as well. All wonderful. And then, the mutants. The donuts that should not be. Pretzels over chocolate glazed yellow cake. Need I say more? If you like chocolate covered pretzels and think attaching a donut to the thing is great, this is the answer. Now, the twisted and warped quasi dimensional entries. These are the ones that I think you could "fly too close to the sun" and perish, but in this case, it was pure genius. I am talking about the bacon covered donuts. First, the chocolate glazed chocolate donut with bacon and red chile. Absolutely to die for. I loved it! First, the bacon is bacon. It's not some mass produces thin rancid bacon bits. It's a bone fide high quality slice of perfectly cooked bacon. Not so hard that it crumbles yet not to soft to be stringy. The same vain, the breakfast donut is maple glazed and I love this one! It is a handheld pancake/waffle/donut/bacon delight with maple that you can eat with one hand while driving to work. And from the out of the box thinking, the cereal coated variety. The cocoa pebble coated donut was nothing short of incredible. The soft texture of the donut with the incredible glaze set off the crunchy cereal for a texture bonanza that accentuated the flavors! The cinnamon toast crunch was equally delicious, although I did prefer the cocoa pebbles. Their donuts are not crispy or creamy. They are not "light" or yeasty. That said, that category is not their playground. In my opinion, it's the difference between fast food and fine dining. I will be back, even though it means more exercise to keep in shape! Great donuts, really great donuts!

Oh man, these donuts are awesome! The flavor combo and texture are delicious. I was only in the SW for a week so I didn't get to try everything but I'll definitely say the chili dusted bacon donut was a good new experience. I personally liked the Nutella one the best.

My wife picked up a dozen of their most awesome donuts last week, and all I can say is WOW! She also got a couple of the maple glazed bacon long johns and that was my favorite. You have to get here ASAP! You won't be disappointed.

I dropped into the westside Albuquerque Rebel Donut shop for a little Sunday morning sin after working out at the gym. I had a piñon blend coffee with a Spumoni donut (chocolate cake donut with pistachio frosting & a pretty twist of pink fluffy strawberry(?) cream filling in the center) and a maple bacon bar. The cup of piñon blend coffe was very well brewed to my taste. Not weak, watery, or anemic. Plenty of backbone to it without being throat-clenchingly strong. The taste of the brew was also pleasant on the tongue. Rich & flavorful, not bitter to my tastes. The Spumoni donut was *very* good & I could easily see it as a repeat offender on subsequent visits. The pistachio frosting was pretty subtle to me, but brought rich flavor when I ate slowly & carefully enough to separate its taste out from the others. This particular donut had my mouth doing the Happy Dance from start to finish!! The maple bar, my first anywhere, surprised me. I anticipated the bacon to overwhelm the other flavors. Not so. If anything, the overall sweetness of the maple bacon bar (and it is very sweet) and the maple flavoring tended to obscure the bacon. I got only occasional waves of the smokiness of the bacon coming through the mapley sweet flavor. I assume that is the intent. If so, it was quite good. The only downside is that they don't offer everything on their menu at a given time. This morning when I was there they had around 16-20 selections of donuts & bars (frybread, like the maple bar), if I remember correctly, in the case. There may have been more options available on request, but I was unaware of such options & everyone who came in while I sat at a table to consume my breakfast ordered from the case. The staff did go in the back to get a variety of donut fresh from the fryer to fill a request from a walk-in customer. This extra service seemed in keeping with the very friendly & helpful staff I noted throughout my visit. They were top notch people who made Rebel Donuts a pleasant stop in my morning. This was my first visit to a Rebel Donut shop, as I try to find a westside replacement for the eastside's Duke City Donuts on days when I won't be crossing the river. After this visit, I believe I've found it. I anticipate more Sunday morning visits to try more of Rebel's offerings, since it seems there's a rotation of various goodies. So leave your inner nutritionist at home & drop into Rebel Donuts for a treat of some very good donuts. Your palate will thank you for it.

Let me first start off by saying that I'm a big fan of Rebel Donuts and a big fan of donuts too!! The donuts here at this location are no different than the other locations... fresh and delicious! For all the chocolate lovers, I STRONGLY suggest the "Chocolate Wasted" donut! It is so soft, yummy, and chocolaty. The staff here are friendly and patient. In fact, I believe they are extremely patient, as I sit there in the donut shop, enjoying my decadent donuts, I consistently overhear a bountiful of super annoying customers!!! Some of these super-annoying customers were dissing the maple bacon donut, stating how "gross" they "thought" it would be! Geeeeesh the nerve of some people - don't knock it 'til you try it!! I, of course, defended the donut and told them it was really good and a very popular donut (and I don't even like bacon that much). Anyways, this is a great local business, a little more pricey than Donut Mart (another great underrated LOCAL donut business), but Rebel Donuts offer a very unique selection that can not be compared to their competitors!

This place isn't what I hoped it would be... Reading the reviews I was super stoked to try it only to find it was a disappointment. The doughnuts were dry and tasted old. The variety sucked compared to other doughnut shops around. I don't know what the big hype is to be honest. I don't plan to go back or recommend them.

The blue sky donut was absolutely delicious, but other big hits included the peanut butter snickers and the pepper bacon chocolate. Place was packed and staff was extremely helpful, pulling fresh blue out of the back.

Designer donuts are the new "hip" trend (yes White people, they have ones with bacon, don't worry!) and this place does a good job, although I'm not sure I would know a designer donut suck job if it came up and bit me in the ass anyway.

  • Tania S.

The donuts here are ok. I think what I really like is the artistry of the donuts more than anything else. I love that they have "themed" days where you can pick up donuts of your favorite movie or show! The prices are pretty high for mostly hard donuts. I have yet to taste one that is fresh outta the oven. I think the secret to rebel is a great logo, and fun selections. If you want a fresh warm donut stuck with the big HOT sign at Krispy Kreme.

6 donuts bought 1 French toast yummy goodness crisp and sweet not greasy 1 maple walnut cake donut. Cake donuts are not my favorite but this was tasty. A bit heavy for me and again bit greasy I haven't tried the others. Who CAN eat more than 2 anyway? I did see 3 types of donuts with bacon on them so if you like sweet and salty get your fix! Ok I will admit to eating a day old donut...and it was good! Chia tea was tasty. Not enough chia flavor but yummy

I don't even know where to begin on this review... Needless to say, since I had wanted to try this place out for months, I made my way down there and I was shocked to find out this place wasn't all I dreamed it to be (from other reviews). Their donuts are beautiful, but the taste doesn't come anywhere near their beauty. I bought a box of Lil' Rebels so I could try out more flavors, and I am so glad I didn't buy any of the full sized ones due to the fact I wasn't satisfied with the ones I tried. I guess since I had been so pumped to try this place it was even more of a let down for them to taste semi-dry and day old. Despite this, I felt the Breaking Bad donut was the best and the sugary candy ("meth") was the best part. It tasted like a blueberry cotton candy mix which I loved. Maybe I need to give this place another try and buy a full sized donut, but at the steep cost, unfriendly staff, and a not so great first time impression I won't go back for some time.

I love donuts, they're my favorite right now and rebel is the place to go. Way too much sugar that early in the morning, but that's what you sign up for with Rebel. It's also nice that they're local.

The donuts here were amazing. By the time we got there, the breaking bad donuts were sold out but after the lovely cashier heard we were visiting from California she made us six of them fresh. We made sure we left her a huge tip because she totally made our day. Donuts were delicious! Service from the young lady was even BETTER.

We split 3 donuts between the 2 of us, and they were all fresh and tasty. We had the Homer, which is pink-frosted with sprinkles, the Boston Cream, chocolate-frosted with a dollop of custard in the middle (the hole doesn't go all the way through), and Blue Corn-Pinon which is a lightly-glazed cake donut...the other 2 were yeast. The young girl who helped us was polite and accommodating when we asked for our 3 donuts to be boxed rather than bagged. We had intended on taking them back to the hotel but instead greedily consumed all 3 in the parking lot. I feel like this is not only a trendy spot, but maintains that donut store vibe by selling scratch-off lotto tickets, regular black coffee, and tiny cartons of milk. It is pricey but the donuts are clearly made with care. Slick marketing isn't free, people! Honestly, it's probably better that donuts DO cost more, which keeps me from going "aaaahhhellwithit...just give me a dozen".

I like Rebel Donuts because their donuts are sublime. I will say however, the front-of-house ladies at this westside location are surly...not friendly or welcoming or warm. If the donuts weren't so good, I'd take another star away--especially because the last couple of times my Pinon coffee tasted like weird raspberry.

Amazing! I had to try it because of the breaking bad tv show. I got a lemon and french toast. The lemon was really good but I felt the french toast did not taste like the typical morning meal. It was still really good. -Rooster

Totally addicted! Moist, chewy, sweet, delicious! It's hard to pick a favorite flavor because new ones and holiday themes are always being introduced. Love Fluffer Nutter, PB & J, all of the Rebel Red Velvet variations, Triple Chocolate, French Toast, Chicken n Waffles!! I have also done private orders for events and weddings and it's a huge hit every time. Perfection!

If you like donuts, this is a must. When you walk in and see bacon on a maple doughnut, laugh about how disgusting that doughnut must taste, then order it. You won't regret that decision unless you are on some kind of inhumane anti doughnut diet. They make a pretty good latte here too. I actually prefer Rebel's latte over anything else nearby there. Enjoy!

Holy Donuts Batman!!! This place was awesome. I heard about this place online, when I saw they did a Breaking Bad tribute donut, with the blue meth toppings. Im sure it is not real meth, but hey it is Albuquerque so who knows lol. SO just to point out, Albuquerque is my hometown so I can poke fun at it without feeling bad. Ok back to the donuts, I went here because I was craving the bacon topped donuts and I was looking forward to trying the green chile, apple fritter, yes! Thats right green chile!!! Bananas right! So they didnt have any when I went, but the cherry fritter was nice as well. I picked up two dozen premium donuts for me and the family, half of that was gone before they made it to said family, but hey waht are you going to do. The staff was really nice and patient with me while I chose all sorts of flavors. I think I ended getting at least one of everything. I tried a little bit of them all and they were all quite lovely. Price was a bit steep but considering all the goodness and flavors, 12 bucks a dozen was not bad at all. So yeah, sorry about all the "!!!" but I was super excited to finally come to this place. I think they have mini versions of the donuts and drinks, but I was way distracted by the regular donuts. Come here for bacon donuts, good vibes, and awesomeness!!!!! ---- 4 Stars for not having the green chile apple fritter as promised online :(

These are my favorite donuts. I've been to VooDoo in Portland, Stan's in Westwood Los Angeles, LaMar's in Kansas City. Rebel is my favorite yet. The flavors are inventive and don't just use the "a lot of stuff" formula a lot of places use. Very fresh and yummy. Good all over.

I stopped into this place toting a baby in my arms and a toddler who was mad with desire for a sugary treat. I fully anticipated this would be an in and out trip - I was wrong. Two workers were assisting a police officer in placing an order. I received zero acknowledgment - not a "hi," not a "we will be right with you," nothing. I waited for nearly 15 min (mostly because I had driven all the way here, unloaded everyone from the car and promised the wee ones a treat) without any help. Just when I thought it was my turn the cop had them call to the other location to see if they had a shirt in a specific color - I waited. Finally, it was my turn and the interaction was neither good nor bad. The donuts were ok on day 1 (we bought a dozen so we could have some the following day) but were hard as a rock on day 2. Total bummer. We waited a few weeks and tried again; I'm all about second chances. I left, again, feeling less than impressed. I would likely not come back to this location.

Tried this place after hearing all the hype. The donuts are nothing special and neither is the staff despite their "I'm so cool I can't stand it" attitude. I tried two dozen assorted, over priced donuts and the snazzy names didn't match the lack luster flavor of these terrible donuts. Even if these were the most fabulous donuts in town (and they most certainly are not), I would never spend my hard earned money in a place where the counter help is so impatient and rude.

Yum! I prefer the raised donuts here over the cake donuts. Apricot filled, sugar..both excellent. Still dozens of flavors yet to try which is appealing and fresh. Love, Love having our own neighborhood donut shop for meet ups or a quick pick up of some yummy homemade treats for the family. Can't miss the famous Breaking Bad donut too....just for fun....love those creative bakers over at Rebel!!! Welcome to the west side!!

The freshest donuts and best service! I know from first hand experience. I mean come on, they have a Chocolate Wasted donut and even Salted Caramel!

Love this place. I have never had a donut less than delicious. The coffee is amazing from Villa Myriam. They also know how to make a decent latte without over extracting the shot or over steaming the milk.
