I just had hands down the most atrocious service and food. First the filet mignon steak comes out cold, they sent it back. Bring back same steak instead of new cut and now I have 3/4 of my original steak and only 10% warmer. Also I don't believe they know how to cook medium rare because it was cold, bloody rare. I didn't even eat it was so disgusting. If you want steak done right don't come here because outback has no clue what they are doing. The management felt bringing same steak sent back was the right thing to do. You kidding me? You make the mistake and I have to suffer from enjoying a flavorful steak? Even with A1 it was bad.

I hadn't gone to this outback for probably 15 years cause it was gross back then, I regret giving them another try. Food is nasty service is blahh. 15 bucks for a burger and sodas, should have gone to wendys. The fries were lumpy soggy soaked in dripping grease, and the burger just tasted like a gallon of mustard between bread.

Verrrry disappointed in the food here. I used to come to Outback on a regular basis, mainly for ribs, garlic mashed potatoes and a Bloomin Onion. I hadn't been here in what feels like a decade, and I'm sad to say.... I would have rather eaten at McDonald's (and it hurts me to say that). We jumped at the opportunity to order the Bloomin Onion, one of Outback's prized poster children. Alas, the breaded batter tasted overcooked, and I found myself miserably chomping on what I wanted so badly to melt in my mouth. My man and I split the full rack of ribs with garlic mashed potatoes on the side. I'm not saying looks are everything, but when the dish arrived, it had the look of a meal you feed some uninvited guest in your house that just clogged up your toilet and spilled wine all over your computer. You're mad but still trying to be polite...so you cook the food and throw it sloppily on a plate in no organized fashion and without a remote sense of respect for the plate. The food's not centered and the mashed potatoes were definitely shlopped on there by that nasty lunch lady serving Shloppy Joes in Billy Madison. In the words of Jimmy Fallon, "Ew!!" ...As for the taste, the potatoes tasted ok, but nothing spectacular. The ribs didn't taste fresh - like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while before someone doused them in BBQ to 'freshen' em up. The friends we were with both had burgers. I tasted the cheeseburger my friend had barely managed to muscle down...dry and flavorless....You know that feeling when you're salivary glands can't keep up with a chalky consistency of a food - like they can't produce spit fast enough? That was how it felt. That burger did NOT wanna go down my esophagus. No bueno. Additionally, the fries just tasted like barely-cooked potato sticks. The only thing that'll get me back here is hard core peer pressure.

Well when we arrived the hostess was very kind. But once we sat, Daryl our waiter was rude and impolite. when my sister and I go eat we sometime get a small extra dish just to try something new and our waiters comment towards my sister was "do you really think you need that" we still order it after his comment(and those Aussie tacos were delicious). Then after we got our food he looked at her and said "do you want a diet coke with all that"(she was drinking water from the start)wow! I was stunned silent. On a a semi-nice note, the food was good but my sister was a little embarrassed to eat and felt uncomfortable. We left with most of our food untouched.

Despite having so many service related issues in the past, my husband had been wanting to try their steak and endless shrimp special. I'd been putting off going back because I didn't feel like putting up with any service issues, but last night I relented. We got there at about 6:30pm on a Sunday, and again, the restaurant was largely empty. We were seated right away, and attended to promptly. This time, I have to say, the service was remarkably better. Our waiter, Austin, was very attentive. He made sure we had plenty of bread and that our drinks were always refilled, without us ever having to ask for anything. Our orders came out 100% correct: the steaks were cooked exactly as requested, we got the type of shrimp and dipping sauce requested, and the sides were correct and not missing. So why the drop in stars? Because Outback, like we have noticed many other chain restaurants have started doing, is now pulling a "bait and switch", meaning that their portions are significantly being reduced in size, while the prices stay the same or increase. I realize that the cost of food has gone up, but if you need to compensate for higher food prices, don't cut your portions by 30% or more at the same time you increase prices and expect your customers not to notice. It started with the appetizer, the Aussie cheese fries. This is my husband's favorite appetizer at Outback. I like them just fine, but can do without them. When my husband wants to order them, though, we always get the small portion as it has always been plenty for the two of us, and the large is too much food. What was brought to our table last night though, was essentially a side of fries, served in a small shallow dish. My husband cut the portion of fries in half so that we each got an equal amount, so half of a side of fries each, and the price tag was a whopping $7.50. If you order the Aussie cheese fries as a side with your meal, they will up charge you, but not as much as $7.50, yet what we were served as an appetizer was the same amount that we could have paid a lot less for if my husband had replaced the side that came with his meal with the cheese fries. As a side with his meal, though, he chose asparagus, which is an up charge of $1.00 for a few measly stalks. We each chose the endless shrimp special that came with the smallest steak, which we were told was a 5 oz. sirloin, because with the endless shrimp we figured we could order enough shrimp to not leave hungry. So I knew the cuts of meat were going to be on the small side, but I would dispute if they were even 5 oz. cuts. My husband ordered his steak medium rare, so you can't really use the excuse that "it shrinks when it's cooked" with his, and it looked smaller than what was advertised as 5 oz. Mine was cooked well done (I usually prefer it medium well, but I ordered it well done because of their tendency to undercook the steaks in the past and I'd rather it be more cooked than less cooked), so of course it looked thinner and smaller than my husband's, which was small to begin with. For the endless shrimp, there were two choices: garlic butter, or breaded. I ordered the garlic butter shrimp at first, and my husband ordered the breaded shrimp. I wasn't too impressed with the garlic butter shrimp. They were not the best quality shrimp (they looked like the kind you buy in bulk frozen) and were on the slimy side. For our refill we both ordered the breaded shrimp. The breaded shrimp tasted better, but were still not the best in terms of quality. Overall, I don't think our meal was worth the price, even with the endless shrimp. One appetizer/side of cheese fries, two tiny pieces of meat and the lowest quality shrimp, a side of asparagus, and two iced teas came to just under $50.00 ($49.00 and some change). I'd rather pay more money and know that I am getting quality food. Sorry, Outback, but your decision to cut corners while keeping prices high has cost you two long time customers.

People seem to forget this a chain restaurant. It's not a gourmet steakhouse. You are not going to get served life-changing food- just good food. The waiters have a high turnover rate, like most chains. There will be awesome ones and horrible ones. It's a chain. I have never had a bad experience at this location. I have had long wait times, but that is typical at a popular place near dinner time. You will probably have to wait about 30-45 minutes. They have lots of seats for waiting in. You can sometimes wait at the bar, depending on how many people are there for a game. They serve you brown bread when you sit and it's delicious. I do love their bread quite a bit. I have had their salmon twice at this location and each time it's been made well. Their Ahi Tuna appetizer was also pleasant and fresh tasting (it is very easy to tell when Ahi is not fresh). My favorite thing is the Steakhouse Salad (which they removed briefly and broke my heart, then brought it back). It is a lovely salad of candied pecans, tomatoes and blue cheese dressing topped with steak made to order. The flavor combination makes me happy. I am quite found of their steak. They are usually good at making it to your order- sometimes they mess up, but just ask them to remake it and you will not be charged for the re-order. I always order rare and it's always juicy and a good cut of meat. Their drink choices are also yummy. At the end, you have a popular chain restaurant that does decent steaks and acceptable seafood for reasonable prices. Service can sometimes be a little iffy and the orders may get messed up at times, but that is to be expected almost anywhere. It's really just a normal place that does certain things well.

"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."--Chinese proverb I will never visit any Outback again after tonight's debacle. I went to the same Outback months ago on my day off, hoping for a nice relaxing lunch. Unfortunately, the corporate rules apparently dictate that the customer gets 12 minutes to finish his appetizer or salad before the entree comes out. If you do not finish your app or salad in time, the entree is right on top of you. I complained and the manager--despite my protest--took something off my bill. I returned tonight mainly sticking with the "devil you know" rather than the alternative. I was wrong. I sat at the bar which was completely empty. I asked the bartender to change the channel to NBCSN to watch the Stanley Cup Playoffs. They did not have that channel--strike one. I ordered the blue cheese wedge salad which was excellent. Halfway through the salad--and remembering my past experiences-- I told the barman/waiter to tell the kitchen that I did not want to be rushed and I did not want my steak coming out before I had a chance to taste my salad. He went to the kitchen to inform them when lo and behold a food runner appeared with my steak order and I still hadn't finished my salad--Strikes 2 and 3!!! I refused to accept it and called the manager, who turned out to be the same manager as my previous visit. I was so livid I could hardly speak. This is "causal dining"? People go out to eat to relax, not to eat on speed 78 rpm. The corporate office thinks this is efficiency, I call it antithetical to the dining experience. Apparently millions of people love this place. While the food is good, the service is horrid. I understand about turning tables but there was no one else at the bar! I cancelled the rest of my order and went to Longhorn Steakhouse. A very nice waitress named Erica waited on me and did not rush my meal. Not only did I have a relaxing mean, but they had NBCSN and I watched my hockey game and ate in a relaxed manner-- the way it should be.

I moved to ABQ roughly 2 months ago from California (BAY AREA WOOT WOOT) and as soon as I walked into this Outback I complimented the interior.. Much better looking than my usual back in the Bay and when I got my soup it had more flavor to it. The waitress was on point but the only downside to the trip was our cheesy fries wasn't as big of a serving than I'm used to and the AC was a little high so the food got cold fairly quick.

An outback is an outback, right?! Wrong! We had grown accustomed to the poor and slow service and the unappealing food. We recently ate at the outback in Farmington and had a far better experience. Dined here here a few months ago and it smelled like a restroom, but in the dining area. We actually had an incident where (after an excruciatingly long wait with kids) we were told that our order was "lost" - yes, lost. This after being told the order was on its way countless times. We were given gift cards for the cost of our meal which we didn't use until we went out to eat with some friends.....in Farmington! After having a good experience there we decided to give this outback another try. We tried out the carry out -- the first time was ok and on a second trip, disappointment. We were told our order would be ready at 437 pm and at 5 pm we were still waiting.....with kids in the car. I didn't even bother to complain this time. Fool me twice - shame on me. Shame, indeed.

Well, Outback....it's been around for along time. It is still fairly consistently good, but here are some of my recents observations....at least at this storefront: Broccoli and carrots need to be more neatly cut. I don't really want to cut my broccoli even though I can The bathroom in this storefront had an awful smell and it always has....can you do something about it please....it really tarnished my experience Enough with the warning of me being at the corner...it is getting a little old Chicken tortilla soup was good but not great. On the positive side: Steak was not quite cooked to my liking, they replaced it and checked in with me again. And it was to perfection and delicious, I had the Victorias filet Service great Veggies we fantastic (even though they were cut BIG) Salad was great!

Don't expect much with the lobster n steak dinner. The ad should say size not to scale. Lobster was barely 2 bites and that's it. Even the steak was dry on the outside and pink and wet on the inside. Also the shrimp n lobster appetizer was only batter and salt. Only consolation for the drink. Not worth the drive. Outback was a place to go to for western food. But now I gotta find another place.

We should have known better than to order online and pickup our dinner BUT I have been sick, and just getting my appetite back, and saw the steak and crab dinner commercial and had to try it. We spent over $50.00 to get the wrong salads, calamari that tasted like it was made yesterday and sitting at the restaurant, under a heat lamp, waiting for the next to go order, and one wrong size steak. The potato was good so I gave it one star:) What a rip off.....DO NOT order online from here!!!!!!

Forget about the substandard food. The worst part of this meal was the waiter "Rio". Don't get me wrong I was brought cold mash potatoes and a sirloin with a giant piece of hard fat (inedible) in the middle of it. However Rio was atrocious. I asked a question about their website and the menu and told that offer expired so When I proceeded to order I was scolded that I was going out of order. Sorry I didn't get the memo on the required protocol. This guys is not near as funny as he thinks he is and will make a pleasant experience awkward in the blink of an eye. Will not return and I suggest you stay away: bad food and bad service no reason to go.

  • Michael S.

We made an onion mistake. We usually never order an appetizer, but the giant onion looked really good as the table next to us ate one. Our onion was sitting in a puddle of oil. It seemed like our dish had been cooked earlier, and then re-fried prior to being served. It was just so greasy and gross, leaving both of us with stomach aches for the night. Previous visits were always OK, but it seems like the attention to quality when it comes to their onion blossom is lacking. We will eat there again, but wont stray from the dinner menu.

I've been to Outback so many times and in so many cities it's easy to call this place a favorite... or maybe a staple. Anyhoo, it's always a good idea for a group, everyone can find something they like. Their steaks are decent and well-priced but I really enjoy all the little things like the creative cocktails and good-sized appetizers, not to mention the signature wheat loaf and butter. Service is hit and miss but the food is consistent and the wait isn't too terrible. Outback always seems to be a place everyone can agree on when trying to decide where to go for dinner.

The worse service EVER!! My family and I arrived for dinner at 7pm. I left our name & I was given a pager. We were told it would be a 20-30 minute wait. After 40 minutes I went back to the hostess to check how much longer. It turned out the hostess never entered our name in the system. We were then immediately seated. We ordered our food & when the salad came we asked for utensils. We were left waiting for 10 minutes for our utensils because they were waiting for them to be washed. When our food arrived it was cold. Then to top it off our ticket had a meal that was never ordered. NEVER AGAIN

This was only my second trip to Outback in my life. I had gone the first time about 7 years ago. My wife and I get there around 6pm on Friday and surprisingly it wasn't busy. We were sat right away, which was nice. We were thinking we would have a 30 to 40 minute wait but I'll take no waiting any day of the week. There was just something about Outback that just didn't jive with me and I can't say that I was super excited to eat there. We went there only because it was years since we've been and wanted to give it a shot. Everyone, meaning outback staff, just seemed automated. Don't get me wrong, they appeared attentive but individual personality seemed lacking. I understand that could be a minor distraction for some people but to me it felt like a Monday, after work vibe other than a Friday time to light the city on fire vibe that you would get at Roadhouse. Anyway, I love ribs so that's what I had and my wife had the Steak Tacos. I compare BBQ ribs to the likes of Rudy's, Powdrell's and Roadhouse. Outback's ribs were just ok to me, the BBQ sauce kind of reminded me of the KC Masterpiece sauce you get at Walmart, not to much originality to set themselves apart. My wife loved the steak tacos though. All in all the experience wasn't bad. In my opinion there are other chains I would rather go to. I can't pin the tail on the donkey but something about Outback just didn't do it for me.

Disappointed with the food. Overly salty- from the shrimp to asparagus, although the steak was not seasoned, at all. My husband walked out and felt like throwing it all up in the parking lot. We will never return. On the bright side, the shift manager was making rounds and asking people about their food- we mentioned that everything was overly salty and not flavorful. He comped his meal. That was very kind, but food was disappointing. Sad.

This place has TOTALLY gone downhill! My god! Why do they advertise all you can eat shrimp and show misleading photos if when you get there what you get is soggy tiny shrimp and it takes an act of congress to get another serving? Why do they advertise to close at 10 p.m. if when you arrive at 9:20 every employee in the entire place looks at you like: "What the hell are you doing here?" and why - if the steak is what you go there for is the steak of such incredibly low quality? I have eaten $3/lb chuck steak that was better. Bread was dry and crumby, waiter basically pushed us out the door after not taking care of us because he was more worried about cleaning his section so he could leave. Music was loud, temperature too cold and EXPENSIVE! Their $16 shrimp and steak special for two people ended up being $60 because the steak included in their TV commercial is like 3 ounces. I will NEVER go there again - I could get free meals for life and I would never go there. Texas Land and Cattle is SO much more superior!

I absolutely love this place. Our waiter, Rio, is such an awesome waiter. He's super friendly and always in good spirits. I typically get the ribeye (chargrilled-it's amazing trust me), French fries and green beans (but they just took them off the menu- I'm very saddened by this) while me mom gets the ahi tuna. We have hardly ever had problems here and always enjoy the consistent quality we get time and time again.

I did the to-go thing and the "take-out specialist" waiter, Scott, was all that you would want in the customer service department. (They have a curbside service for ordering online, but I was in the neighborhood.) I ordered the chicken crispy cobb salad, specially made my way, and it came exactly as I ordered it. All of the salad ingredients were fresh, especially the green bell peppers and mushrooms. The crispy chicken, on the other hand, was mostly breading and the chicken was dry. The handmade croutons were delicious (although I only counted five total). The spicy ranch dressing, made fresh every morning (as I was told), was good indeed. It had more of a spicy taste than a ranch taste, which could overwhelm the fresh taste of the salad, but it was tasty. Compared to other salads I've gotten, this one seemed a little light in weight for the price I paid (about $12). But then a lot of salads come with mostly lettuce and this one had a good ratio of lettuce to other ingredients.

Believe it or not I have never ate at Outback until this past weekend. I always stayed away from chain steak houses thinking there quality of meat wasn't good. I first started off with there silver coin margarita which was really good and cheap only 4.50 which is pretty hard to beat. I then went with there prime rib and crab cakes with a wedge salad. The wedge salad was really good and would recommend it to anyone. The prime rib was also really good and tender the crab cakes were dry but that's pretty average since I have never had a good crab cake in the southwest. My gf on the other hand wasn't very lucky with her meal she ordered a rib eye medium rare but they brought it out to her well done so she had to send it back. They then brought out another rib eye which was medium rare but was really tough and chewy so it had to be sent back again they then brought her a filet Mignon which was a lot better but was under cooked. That is why I gave this place 3 stars overall this place is ok there are much better steak houses in Albuquerque that are around the same price range.

Hubby and I have been eating here since it opened, but unfortunately, our love for steaks has been surpassed by another steakhouse. This outlet has recently been redecorated, and it's a tad more formal with the removal of two giant-screen televisions from the bar area, but I still don't understand why restaurants of this caliber and price range insist upon turning their bars into sports bars. Why not leave the televisions off so people can actually talk to each other? And turn DOWN the volume on the music. Their latest promotion is the Red White and Blue menu honoring our service members. Since Hubby is retired Navy, we had to go, especially since they were offering crab cakes with some of the entrees. We ordered the sirloin and crab cakes, and I was MIGHTILY disappointed. The crab cakes weren't much larger than a silver dollar, MAYBE about 1/2" thick, and had gaps in them. They were obviously full of filler and just a little crab. I've had better crab cakes at many other places--Red Lobster, Pelicans, at home. These were poor imitations. When we questioned the duty manager, he said that they were following the corporate recipe for them, and couldn't explain why HIS crab cakes looked so much punier than the ones showing on television and on the special menus. I think Outback is guilty of false advertising in this instance. I love the bread, which (almost) always comes warm to the table--warm enough to melt the butter. If it isn't warm enough for that, then it isn't warm enough, as far as I'm concerned. They are usually on the ball to refill beverages, and are pretty good about checking back. The restrooms are usually great--but the last time I was here, the ladies' room handicap stall was unusable because the door lock was completely broken, with no alternate way to keep the door closed. For someone with severe back problems, a non-handicapped toilet is not pleasant to get up from. I did bring that matter to the manager's attention, but haven't been back to see if it has been repaired. The prices are--as almost everywhere these days--a little high, but the food is good and if one leaves hungry, it's his/her own fault. Just don't order the crab cakes!!!

Went there a couple of years ago ~ both the food and the service were extraordinarily good ! We had a waiter who rocked the place; he had a shaven head, lots of tats and little medals, treated me like a queen, and kept all of us happy throughout the [scrumptious] meal.

My significant other has a love for this place -- a love that he's passed on to me. The food was grilled and cooked to perfection and the waiters are constantly taking care of you. They have great customer service there and every bite is worth the high penny for dinner.

Waited for 30 minutes though there were free tables. The service was slow and the food was not good. Dont recommend this location.

I just want to let you know, that outback changed their Mac and cheese and it is now disgusting. The disappointment is unreal.

Consistently good food and service. Years ago the service wasn't good. The last 2-3 years things have been run well.

They have a lunch soup and salad special and the soups are pretty darn good and you can have all the soup and salad you want

Unimaginative and sort of pricey for what it is. Takes forever to get a table and they don't do reservations.

While Outback is a chain, this location is by far the best Outback I have ever been to. The service is by far the best I have ever seen at any Outback, they are friendly, fast and make sure you have a great time and everything is taken care of.
