Have you visited here since their remodeling? The upgrade has made the atmosphere so much better. This gives Hooters it's first star. And, if your sports team has orange within one of their team colors, then you can feel right at home wearing your orange jersey. The upgrade has made the women's restroom very nice. The dining area now offers chairs with backs (before those stools were falling apart). Seems like most tables now have their own flat screens in the indoor section of Hooters. The remodeling gave the whole place a more open and more clean appearance. When I check in here on yelp, I sometimes tease about testing your date to see how insecure or jealous she can get by coming here. She doesn't even have to be with you -- you just have to tell her that you're here. Then see how angry she gets. Part of the hateful feelings come from misconceptions about Hooters. One of the things I have heard about Hooters is that it is only a man's place, as in only men come here. I beg to differ. I've witness customers that have included women only, couples [gay, straight, and lesbian couples], families, and, yes, plain ol' stereotypical dudes. I have noticed that it's those parents who wish that their little boys grow up to be straight, so they deliberately bring their strappin' young males to be photographed with gorgeous women. Just in case your boys don't grow up attracted to females, I always have to think of George Takei when he wrote, "I've always said, I love young heterosexual couples, for they will make the gay babies of tomorrow!" The funniest group of customers that I've seen at Hooters on San Mateo were a table of five men. They all looked macho; they all seemed to pride themselves on being in committed heterosexual relationships. Apparently one of their bromancing companions failed to meet up with them there, so one of the guys calls him up and states to him loudly over the cell phone, "Quit being a pussy and get over here!" A miscalculation from the Woman's movement helped give rise to sexual places like Hooters -- I mean -- with us women being free and all to make our own choices... I bet those bra burners are burning mad that their intentions accidentally helped grow topless places like today. Don't worry! Hooters is *not* a strip club like some people have thought it was. And, Hooters women are never topless (at least at work anyway). It's just that sex sells, and the founders of Hooters knew that. So, the female servers wear small tank tops with the lovely short orange booty covers. If you have visited a beach, then you'll see humans with less clothing on. Then why PAY to see a LITTLE more over up at eateries? It's the macho dudes and the like. They keep this place busy. Moreover, it is women who are apathetic to feminism. Yes, I'm one of the females that just doesn't care sometimes because I pick my battles based on time. You all can fight that war for me, and while you're at it, take two of Hooter's stars with you for the effort. For the record, I've seen women donned with more revealing work uniforms at Twin Peaks and Ojos Locos. If Hooters makes you livid, the avoid the aforementioned in order to not spontaneously combust. I know feminists like Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson cringe at all of these places. If you can get past all of the politics and the demeaning ideas behind places like these, then you won't mind visiting a Hooters any time soon. Let's face it--women are working there, and in this economy I hear the money isn't too bad; otherwise, they would find employment elsewhere. What I do not like about Hooters is the tea. The tea is weak. Save yourself the money and just order water instead. And, there used to be a female manager at this location who was mean. You think she'd get paid enough to be jolly. Not this one; she looked like she wanted to fight me after work. I guess a catty beast can be anywhere. Luckily I haven't seen her there in years, so I think I'm safe. The wings are good. They used to have an all-you-can-eat wing night on Wednesdays, but I do not know if that is still offered. The wings are also available on the children's menu. A kid can eat for free from any of the choices on the children's menu on Saturdays as long as an adult meal is purchased. Although you save on the food, the children are charged for their drinks (just a heads up). I mainly just go there for the wings; I've tried the traditional and boneless; I prefer the traditional type. I don't really order anything besides the wings. Some of my family members have, and they say that their food is good. The sides like the fries and fried pickles are tasty. I have tried the desserts. They all are frozen. Hooters needs to come up with fresh desserts. For now, they have earned two stars for their food, and they are rated as A-OK.

Bad service, went here walked outside to patio bar ,came back in and sat at a table. Every waitress walked by us and ignored us for 20 minutes. Got up and walked out. Too bad I work in bar business and tip very well. Just wanted anyone to acknowledge us. Went to Twin Peaks and had a $150 tab with 3 of us hope you waitresses at Hooters read this.

Just because you're "pretty" or "sexy" should never make it okay to give terrible customer service. The hostess was HORRIBLE! The manager and bartender, who waited on us, were fabulous! The hostess was rude when we were seated and didn't even say thank you...goodbye...kiss my a** when we left. Bad taste...

Ok I come here often like 3 times a month and I had to comment it's the second time in 3 weeks I've had HORRIBLE service. This time was Bobbi Lynn the server so rude when we tried to be nice but no she was rude as hell. Her manager was Joanna and she was even worse ! A manger says to a patron after a complaint *eye roll* well what do u want me to do about that? Ummm be a advocate for ur customers and not an asshole. Bad bad only going to westside now

This place is great. The girls are very fun to talk to. The best thing on menu in my opinion are the buffalo chicken sliders hot lol. They do support vets despite what some reviews have said. I go just to hang out with the staff sometimes.

You know, I've only been to Hooter's a handful of times, and this location seems about standard for the place. I always end up getting wings and tall beers. Pretty typical. The girls wear tight tees and pantyhose. Same same. I'm not there for the girls though, and really I don't see why that draw is such a big one. You're not seeing anymore than going downtown on a Friday night. Wait, correction. You're seeing way less lol! The wing sauce is good, but it's not fantastic. It's just enough of what you would expect, I guess. I do like their ranch a heck of a lot though! I guess I'll join my friends at Hooter's if we're in a 'get rowdy' sort of mood, because maybe it provides that kind of pre-game mentality to a night of drinking. I don't know. Next time I'll try something other than wings, just to see.

I've been to this location a few times, with not too many complaints.. (last time, the Philly cheese steak sandwich was perfect! ) however, I haven't even received the order that I placed, and I'm already disappointed. The table is sticky. The service has been pretty lousy so far. The waitress was completely annoyed by request for lemons. It took 20 minutes to get our drink order, which was mostly waters. After they brought the drinks, she didn't bring enough straws, nor the lemons that we requested. It's not super busy, so I'm not sure why the service isn't what is usually expected..

This place is bad. I haven't been in awhile so figured the wife and I would try it today. Got there and there was maybe 15-20 people in the place so definitely not busy. Ordered the buffalo shrimp for an appetizer and the wife ordered a hotdog and I ordered original wings, half lemon-pepper and half BBQ. Well it took about five minutes or so to get drinks and thirty minutes for the food, no kidding we ordered at 1145 and received the food at 1213. The buffalo shrimp came out with the meal and was maybe warm at best so we had to send that back. My wife's hotdog was actually warm in some spots and cold in other. The lemon pepper wings were nice and hot, but were over seasoned bad. The BBQ wings were warm at best. Not sure if some of the food sat for awhile waiting for the rest to get done, or it just sat there because of bad service. When we sent the food back there was no manager to come check and ask what the issue was with it or even to ask how the meal was. For as long as we sat there we were never offered a refill on the tea and soda and when the food was not coming out we didn't even get a visit from the waitress to let us know what was going on and how much longer. I would say they either, one-need a manager on duty, or two-if there was a manager on duty maybe they need a new one. Sorry don't mean to crack on them but it was bad. If it was possible to go negative on the ratings I would because the food and service were sad.

Went in this evening for a couple of beers and had a great experience. The place was clean and the atmosphere was fun. I want to say that the server Salome was an excellent server. Not only is the Colombian beauty great to look at but she has a wonderful and warm personality. I wish that all servers were as warm and friendly as her. Great job Hooters!

Hooters.... what can I say. I miss the days when the girls had "hooters". What I mean by that is they had more than a B/C cup. Anyways, back to my review. My husband and I went on a Tuesday because I wanted Fried Pickles. No kids to lug around, just us, a party of two. We get to the podium and the girl took our name down and asked if we wanted to be seated in or outside. We chose in and because of the lack of communication between the hostess and the waitress, the waitress took us outside. We kindly let her know we wanted inside. So, she showed us back to the podium and told us to wait until there was a table ready. There were about three tables that were cleaned up and ready for some butts to sit in. After about 10 minutes of waiting, we were finally seated at one of the tables I mentioned. Our waitress was okay. She was kind of absent minded. I say this because I had ordered an unsweet tea, and when she brought it to us, I asked for Splenda. After waiting another 15 minutes for her to come back to the table, I asked again. She said she forgot and went to go get it. We got our fried pickles and to follow, our food. Our waitress had another table besides us who had two older gentleman. I counted the times she checked on them versus checking on us. Within the hour we were there, she checked on them 9 times to our 3 times. I don't know if she was trying to get a bigger tip from them and gave them more attention. Also, when our check came, there were two orders of fries added to our bill. We had ordered the sliders that says on the MENU it comes WITH fries. She stated that they have to input the fries separately. I let her know that on their own Menu it states it comes with fries. She said she would talk with her manager. She came back to the table and stated her manager just said to take the fries off, like just get them off of our back and take the fries off the ticket. No apologies or nothing. I even offered to show them the menu but she said no it was okay. We usually tip 20% or higher, but on this occasion, we only tipped 15%. I could have been worse and not given her anything. Im just disappointed on how we got treated. Overall, the food got the two stars. Service, none. I will not be returning to this location.

Worst service ever!!!! They girl didn't even place our orders in for over thirty minutes. My party and the neighboring party were all females. The manager was even worse and didn't even try to fix the situation. We didn't get any silver wear or half our order completed by the time we paid. I get way better service at the HOOTERS WEST

Worst service ever! Walked in the building after waiting over 20 minutes for a seat then we waited another 20 minutes before the server got there! We walked out as soon as the server got there. She then had the worst attitude ever! Never again will I come here! Just because the girls are pretty they think they can treat paying customers like crap!
