I don't get over to the Jefferson and Paseo area for lunch very often, so when I found myself over here, there were a couple places I wanted to try. Hello Deli was one. I have to admit, I had a different vision of it before I came in. I'm not sure why, but I thought it would be smaller, less corporate maybe. Well, it's not. Not that that is bad, per se, but just different than expected. The staff could not have been nicer. Seriously, I've had worse service in 5-star restaurants. These folks are on it, even during the weekday lunch rush. Awesome. The food was good. Not great, but solid. I had the turkey sandwich with cheese and grilled onions, with the server-recommend jalapeño mac and cheese. The sandwich was good, if you like onions (which I do!). The mac and cheese was tasty and cheesy, but a tad over cooked. The fountain soda was huge. They have a nice atmosphere and an outdoor patio as well. Drop by, you could do a lot worse around here!

You have got to be kidding me.... This is the second time I have been to Hello Deli and just like the first time, I am blown away with how good it is. Last time as a side I got a green chile and chicken soup that was recommended to me by the waitress saying "it's really good today". She was right, but the comment made me think I got lucky with a great soup on a great day. This visit I was please to find their soup was a green chile chicken and shrimp gumbo. I ordered this with the delicious Guido sandwich ($8 total) at 2:20 pm (they close at 2:30) and was somehow blessed with an even better tasting side soup! Blown away by how good just a little sandwich place could be. Thank you Hello Deli I will be back!

Hello Deli is perfect for brunch. I come here a lot with my family after church and we are always satisfied. I think Hello Deli's strongest suit is service. Everyone is so nice and is constantly working to make sure you are happy with your experience. You're greeted when you walk in the door and checked on throughout your meal. My coffee cup is never empty. I usually order the breakfast burrito with green chile and it is excellent...it will feed two. But I am blessed with the skill of eating so I'm one of those people who can definitely eat one alone! They have great pancakes. I've also had their gyro which is really good. I gave Hello Deli four stars because they're missing that "something" if you know what I mean. Excellent service and good food...but missing that something.

This is a conveniently located deli to my work place. I'll be honest though, being in such close proximity to Torino's, I usually go there instead. :\ That being said, the food here is decent. It's big and open inside, and they have a nice covered patio area in the back. Staff seemed a little ... bored when I went in. I guess because it was start of shift? Pleasant enough, though. Clean on the inside, so not a bad place.

This is pretty much our go to place at work. They have a great variety of food, it's usually pretty good, and honestly I've never seen that quality of food come out to your table so fast. Sometimes they beat you to the table. When you're on a lunch break, that kind of speed is realllly important. The owner is always there and will go out of his way to make sure you have a great experience. So for what it is, a quick lunch spot, it's a real gem!

My mother and I visited the Hello Deli this afternoon and were beyond frustrated by the time we left. First, I would like to say that the FOOD was excellent, tasty and quick. Unfortunately, we will not be returning due to the complete lack of hospitality displayed by the front house staff. We were greeted by a friendly young lady who indicated that we should sit where we like. We picked a shady table on the patio. A young lady offered us drinks and quickly returned with our beverages and menus. A large table was finishing up, so the servers were busy clearing their table and, understandably, took a few minutes to return for our order. This is where it started getting ridiculous. My mother had recently taken a prescription that calls for something to be taken with it, so she asked for a glass of milk to come out right away to avoid feeling ill. The server took our order and said she was going to get milk as she left the table. She proceeded to chat with other servers, clear tables, deliver food and take other orders for about 10 minutes. My mom finally went inside and asked for milk. Mind you, there were about 8 servers working on about 8 tables at the time. Our food came out, looking and smelling awesome, was set on the table in front of us with no silverware. I waited to see a server for a couple of minutes before I fetched our silverware from another table inside. My wrapped fork and knife were filthy. The ladies at the table next to us were leaving and mentioned that they would not be paying for services that they did not get, 'I don't mind paying for what I ordered, but they obviously didn't have time to take care of us.' We finished eating and waited for a sign of a server to ask for boxes and a ticket, ended up fetching those ourselves, as well. We boxed our goodies and the less than hospitable waitress, tiny, cute young lady with dark red lip stick, handed me a bag for our boxes, turned her back to me and said, insincerely, 'have a nice day' and walked off. We went inside to pay and the cashier asked how everything was. We said the food was great, but we would not be returning due to the service (or lack there of) to which she shrugged and said 'ok'. All of the servers were huddled in a corner chatting, save the young lady with multiple facial piercings (not my favorite accessories, but she was the hardest worker on the wait staff, so GOOD JOB!!) who was cheerily addressing a customer and filling his iced tea. I really wish she had been our server because this sort of review is not something I enjoy. I hope she and the kitchen staff can find a fabulous place to work when Hello closes due to gross negligence on the part of the rest of the staff.

When I go to one of the Hello delis here in town all I want to order is there tuna fish salad..This locations tuna fish salad was nothing like the tuna fish salad at the candelaria deli. The candelaria deli is The best one in town..Great breakfast options too.

I have been this deli a few times. The place is close to my work as it is for a lot of people because of the area. I have taken meals to go and dined in a few times. Most recently my wife and I went had a lunch date. I was in the mood for chicken salad. We arrived at about noon on a Friday the place was packed. You place your order at a counter. This is a major plus because I don't really like having a waiter, especially when it's just a quick lunch. My wife ordered a cheese steak sandwich with fresh fruit and I ordered the chicken salad with the green chile chicken soup. The food came out fast! When we sat down I made sure to check in on my Yelp app. As soon as I was checked in, the food came. They really know how to turn tables at this place. Now for the verdict. Is this place spectacular? Is it the best deli I have ever been to? I have to say no and no. It's a good place to get a quick lunch if you are in the area. The staff was very friendly too. The food comes out in record speed, which is good and bad. I find myself here every once and a while just for its proximity to my office. If you are in the area check it out. The menu is massive too. Cheers!

My wife and I shared a Hello Deli Omelette meal this morning while at a group coffee. The omelette was very tasty and we loved it. It is not for the lactose intolerant however. There were at least two types of cheese and plenty of it. This omelette also comes with ham, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes and onions. Splitting this monster was a very good way to go. For the bread, we followed advice and had the pancakes. I loved the food. The coffee not so much but it isn't a coffeehouse and I will return for the food. The only other complaint I can voice is the tables are so close together even the staff had difficulty winding their way through with orders. This is a breakfast and lunch spot only but well worth the drive for either of those meals (assuming lunch is as good as breakfast. )

Located on Jefferson in the Journal Center. We haven't been to Hello Deli in a long time. Last time we went we literally walked out and did not order or eat anything because it was gross and dirty. After giving it some time we decided to give Hello Deli another try. I'm glad we did. Service was superb. We never wanted for anything. The prices are fair and comparable to any other breakfast/brunch joint. My HB got the chicken fried steak burrito. That's definitely what I'm gunning for next time and there will be a next time

Lots of meat, not a lot of flavor. I work in the Journal center and have been to Hello Deli a couple of times for lunch. I ordered different sandwiches each time hoping to find something awesome. Each time I left a little disappointed. The sandwiches are good in that they are loaded with meat but they are seriously lacking in flavor. It's a shame, I really wanted to like this place but it just didn't make the cut.

Really good food. The owner is Greek so if you want a gyro they are out of this world. The red chile is awesome and the Huevo Rancheros and skillet dishes are awesome too. We go every week after church because unlike so many other breakfast places in Albuquerque you never have to wait here. Never a bad meal.

The Green Chile Cakes are amazing with Agave! Enough said! This is a great place for after church brunch, just make sure to come hungry as the portions are enormous. I went here two weeks ago and really enjoyed the atmosphere, the friendly service and the fantastic food! Reminder: come hungry!

If you work in Journal Center Hello Deli is a staple of the area. If you order "to go" call ahead of time and it will be ready to go they are super quick. The Hello Deli club sandwich is my favorite. Don't forget to order their fries!

This place kills me. Why can't they Starbucks up and make a location on every street corner in America?? Living up to the Route 66 Americana that pervades Albuquerque, this little diner is fast, friendly, and not too 50s dinerish. I have already requested, by way of my fiance, that if I end up on death row, that Hello Deli's green chile cheese fries be my last meal. These are THE best green chile cheese fries you will ever find. You may think to yourself, "What right does an establishment have charging $5.25 for an order of green chile cheese fries?" But once you see that an order is truly a meal, you'll be okay with the price. Sink one of those green chile-smothered fries into your mouth, and you'll be a believer and wonder why they aren't charging $10. Their green chile cheese fries are absolute crack -- one taste and you NEVER go back! I have tried their other items, most notably their generous sandwiches (I cry for the Tom & Jack and grilled chicken breast almost daily), their wonderful hamburgers, and their desserts (carrot cake, anyone?), which includes Frontier sweet rolls! Never been disappointed. NEVER. I can't say this place does something extravagant, like make their burgers out of Kobe beef or anything like that. It's just simple, straight-up deli food. And that makes me -- and my tastebuds -- happy. So, this is one of those places, right alongside The Frontier, that I suggest to those who decided to trek through the Duke City.

Pretty quick, pleasantly inexpensive, and tasty food. Portions are good sized (not too small, but not too large). One of the best values I have found in ABQ. Both lunch and breakfast have good food and nice broad menus. Service is very friendly

Another review said in its entirety "consistently disappointing." Just about perfect, and why I quit eating there. Nothing was ever horrible or inedible, but I got so incredibly tired of wrong orders, missing garnish, and on and on and on. If the menu says a sandwich comes with certain things on it, either serve it that way or change the menu if your kitchen is that stubborn. Oh, and if you have "deli" in your name, how about having some decent mustard on hand, not just that horrible yellow crap. It's one of the closest eateries to where I work, but I absolutely will not queue up for consistent disappointment.

We used to go here for breakfast a lot and it was good but the service was a little choppy. We had to ask for things a lot. Nice atmosphere, gets pretty crowded but we've never had to wait to get a table. The service is interesting, lots of different waitresses attending to the same tables. The problem is, I went for lunch recently and they forgot to put peanut butter on the peanut butter and jelly sandwich I ordered for my son. They also gave me a very wilted (looked like it was frozen at some point) side salad. I couldn't eat it. I wouldn't recommend this place anymore.

Service was great, and the location was great. I went for lunch and got it to go. My food was ready in a few min. I got the South West Chicken Salad and was disappointed. For 8 bucks I want higher quality ingredients than what I got. Ill be going back to this place to try out some of the other food, but not expecting any fine dining.

Food is BIG but not all that flavorful. And if your a criminal dont eat here cuz this is where all the cops go for lunch.

Don't let the three-star rating dog ya, this place is solid. It's just three-star. Dig me? Here's why: Great service from the moment you walk in the door. You should expect a greeting and if you don't get one, you should let them know, because believe me, they've been trained to acknowledge you. As goes for the entirety of your experience. You should be carefully attended to by your server. I was. Start to finish, you should expect great service. The struggle of Hello Deli is a common issue for long-serving havens of established eateries that have catered to their devoted brethren. Their success is rooted in their loyal customers, who love the same ol'. Thus, the menu offers the same ol'. And it's pretty good, the same ol'. But it's still the same ol'. Not a lot of creativity, here. And regarding their devoted patrons, reality check: they're aging. So prepare for safe food. You know what I'm saying? Even the unusual dishes riff on comfort. But it's a good spot, the only place I would visit for breakfast in these parts. Lunch, not so much.

Nicely varied menu, food is good, service also good. Breakfast served all day, lots of sandwich choices nd a large amount of choices for the sides choices! Covered outside patio, although it wasn't available for use right now....even some police officers are eating here today.

These five stars are for the Big Burrito Plate. It is so good. I love it. I don't ever get anything else because it's huge and good and if you get it with cheddar / Christmas / sausage its . Alright great.

Trying to enjoy the New Yorker sandwich, but can not. The pastrami and swiss cheese are not bad.., but the coleslaw temp is warm/hot. This gives the sandwich a microwave taste which is not satisfying. The fries lack any flavor. We were also disappointed that Hello Deli does not respect military or seniors with any discount. Until changes are made, we can not recommend this restaurant. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain

Terrible speed. I waited 20 minutes for a burrito. No one cared as I sat there. Finally the guy who took my order went to check in the kitchen. It wasn't made. the owner Marcus was here too but didn't seem to care. Finally got food after 20 mins. I give 1 star since the food was decent. The restaurant was mostly empty. They just don't seem to care. I have pictures of the this too.
