I really wanted to like this place due to the other reviews. To put it simply it is not bad for the price you pay. It seemed to me to be on the same lines as Panda Express. You get what you pay for. My wife and I were the only ones in the restaurant at the time and were basically ignored after the food was brought to us. The waitress (I believe to be the daughter) seemed annoyed that she had to help us instead of watching TV. Granted we did go at an off hour to eat and not during the normal lunch time. I have had better then again I have has worse.

Happy Garden is not only my favorite, it's the only Chinese restaurant in ABQ worth frequenting. The lunch specials are made to order, great priced and delicious. My favorite is the shrimp curry. We recommend this restaurant. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain

Our very favorite place for a quick bite to eat. Staff is ALWAYS friendly. Not to mention the food is top notch. Try their Crispy Sesame Chicken Special. It's amazing. You're welcome.

Great food and great prices. Clean place, lots of seating and fast service. Highly recommend. We got the pepper steak & onions, and the chicken diet along with steamed veggie dumplings. Yum.

This place is so good! The food is really cheap for what you get. I order their Family Meal at least once a week, and it's only $22 for 4 full size plates!

Great lunch specials ($5.25), quality about what you'd expect of cheap Chinese, but it's tasty and the servings of rice and meat were pretty big for take-out.

My family and I just love their food! The Family Dinner for $20 is a great deal and we always have leftovers! If you like curry, try the Shanghai noodles!

Really love this place. My wife and I have ordered a ton of different dishes from their menu and everything has been very tasty! One major thing that I believe distinguishes their food from other similar places is how flavorful their sauces are. Try the Wontons in Garlic Sauce, which are fantastic.

Average at best. I used the ordering app on my phone to order some takeout. When I arrived they hadn't even started the order. We ordered the hot & sour soup, chicken fried rice and szechwan beef. It was all edible but not good enough for us to go back.

I'm not sure if it's always like this or maybe just a consistency issue. Tried Garlic sauce chicken and lo mein. Wish I would've tried the ham fried rice to help determine overall quality. The chicken tastes strange. Something about the texture. All the veggie ingredient and sauce were fine but the chicken and noodles didn't have flavor and sort of ruined the dishes. I am sad. I don't like giving middle range review much less bad ones. I generally try places that look great based on the existing yelp feedback.

For a neighborhood Chinese joint, this place is pretty awesome. The prices are very reasonable and the place, despite being in an old strip mall, is clean and the staff is professional and friendly.

Deeply disappointed given existing reviews. Staff was distracted and rushed, failing to include rice or fortune cookies with my order. Food was competent but uninspired- ordered sweet and sour chicken and beef with broccoli, but the chicken didn't have any accoutrements (like pineapple or peppers) and the beef was mostly broccoli. Would not order from this restaurant again. Fairly cheap though.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
