Hook and Ladder sub is a yummy sandwich, just the right amount of condiments to accent the meat. Wheat bread is soft and slightly chewy....a great combo.

I'm really torn about this place. :/ I really do love the subs but the service, especially this last visit was terrible! There were about four people behind the counter when we walked in and a couple people at at tables. We were greeted upon entering but waited at the counter while the girl who was supposed to be taking our order stood with her back to us laughing and joking with another worker. Finally, another worker got her attention that we were waiting and she seemed perturbed to have to assist. When our food was ready, she just put the order on the counter - didn't call my name to say that it was my order that was ready (even though we were really the only ones waiting). I finally ended up asking if it was ours which she pointed an nodded. The subs on the other hand... were almost worth the experience. Almost.

I'm not usually into sandwich places but have a friend who is...so, I got talked into going. The firefighter themed sandwich shop is cute, cliche and a little overwhelming. They have many sandwiches that are about 500 calories. But most are 1000-2000. Jared does not work here. You can also order any sandwich with the smaller sandwich roll--it has the same amount of meat, just less bread. I went this route and got the Italian. I didn't think these sandwiches were anymore special than any other sandwich shop, except maybe Subway, which is just gross. They have quite a variety of chips. None of their own. They also have my favorite fancy coke machine. The shop is clean, well staffed and has a nice patio to eat outside at. Would I return? If someone wanted to go. But otherwise, I wouldn't choose to go.

IMO this is one the best sandwich shops on westside. I like how they take their time making them. The meats are great. Bread is good and never hard like at some other sandwich places nearby. And the combos they offer are pretty darn tasty. Plus the unique thing about firehouse is they have like 20 different types of hot sauce that you can put on your sandwich to spice it up! Also they have the new cool drink dispensers where you have ton of choices and flavors to add. I love this place and never had any reason to complain.

I love me a good sandwich and thats what this place does. They use quality meats and breads unlike subway and quiznos and they aren't afraid to put some extra meat on your bread unlike subway. You can also tell turkey is turkey here unlike some of those other sandwich places were you have to guess what flavor of meat you are eating. Overall This place is my favorite sandwich spot in Albq.

Like! Only gripe is the lack of enthusiasm in the "welcome to firehouse" when you walk in the door. Other than that, very good food and always clean.

Not any better than subway. Roast beef was grey. The amount of meat that they put on a sandwich for $9 is a joke. It's too bad because I though this place would be different. I will have to keep looking for a good subshop /deli here in ABQ If anyone has a place I should try let me know. Thanks

Food is good here. Service had always been poor . Always. I get that this location is always crazy busy at normal lunch times. But what happens is the employees do the eyes down approach. What I mean is you wait in line to order and no one acknowledges you. Today is last straw. Walked in and one man waiting to order. 4 employees on the line and two in kitchen and one changing syrup on coke machine ( that's another story ) the man said he waited 11 minutes for ANYONE to acknowledge him. I get they are backed up and might not be able to take our order. That's fine. At least have someone say"!we'll be right with you". We waited 9 minutes just to order. Again, that's gone but at Jimmy Johns, for example, they say "we're backed up we'll be right with you." The other thing is the stupid Coke machine. While they were one of the first in Albuquerque to have the Coke machine with a bazillion choices, problem is they only have one. Each person takes twice as King trying to figure out how to use the machine and then to sort through all the choices. A location this busy should have two machines. Sorry. Last visit to this location. Good is great. Best subs. But poor service trumps flavor when there are other locations if the same chain.

Big fan of this place, my favorite sub is the Club, I've ordered it already 4 times in a row. The ham is very unique, I don't think I've had ham like that before. If it's youe firat time try it, if it's too much meat for you go with the Turkey Bacon Ranch, also tasty.

So excited for the new NW ABQ location! The ABQ Fire Dept. was there ordering when I walked in. Firehouse makes some of the best warm subs around. Although a chain, all subs are made to order with thinly sliced meats that are sooo juicy and flavorful. Order at the counter and they bring out your food. Lots of variety; ham turkey, pulled pork, meatball, salami and steak. The wait is about 5 minutes since they need to make the sandwich and warm it., maybe longer if it's lunch-hour. On your first bite you will realize the juicy-ness of their deli meat.Yum. The original Hook and Ladder (ham, turkey and Monterrey Jack) on wheat bread is my favorite, but I also love their roast beef (on the Firehouse Hero) and the Hawaiian pulled pork with pineapple. The new coke machines are here too! Endless flavors with your favorite soda, diet soda, orange soda, or water!

I like it. I had my first visit here a few weeks ago. It was busy and it took a little while, that is true. You don't really get service in sandwich shops. Their typically goal is to get you out of their way as quickly as possible. As long as you accept that and let them do their job, things typically go smoothly. I had the Sriracha beef sandwich and left very full and very happy. I liked their coke machine. I am not a big coke person, but I liked the flavors. Overall, not bad. I wanted a good sandwich and I got one. Nothing life changing, but it's definitely acceptable.

Better than Subway or Quiznos, but I prefer other sandwich places over this one. Not sure what it is that they could do better, but the sandwiches are just slightly above average in my humble opinion. I like the atmosphere and the business plan, and definitely will continue to eat here. Next time I'll put more effort into figuring out what it is they could do better and repost.

This was my first and last experience to firehouse subs. Very poor customer service. There was nobody in line and only 1 table of customers, all the workers were just standing around talking to each other even though it was very obvious we had never been there before. I asked a few questions to the lady at the cash register, she was not helpful at all and offered no suggestions or advice. Anyways aside from horrible service, when I got home to eat my lunch, unwrapping my sandwhich the bell peppers were chunks and just thrown on the side of the sandwhich. My first bite, I was grossed out. I forced myself to eat it as I just paid almost $8 for this small cheap looking sandwhich. I couldnt bear to eat even half the sandwhich. I ordered the steamhouse sub just fyi. I will never be back and I would never recommend someone to come here. So many better places for a sandwhich, I will take subway over here anyday.

Great place for sandwiches by far. Their sandwiches are more tastier than Subway or Quiznos, also you can taste the ingredients bite for bite. The hook & ladder sandwich and Engine Steamer are worth a try. They are definitely an establishment that helps out the community and involved in various fundraisers (you have to visit to see their awards and community recognition). They have a soft drink machine that offers so many varieties for selecting a specific soft drink/ soda. Their prices and portions are well balanced by all means.

One word - AWESOME! We tried out Firehouse Subs for the first time a couple of weeks ago and have been several times since then. The subs are phenomenal - you have to try the Brisket and Cheddar - best brisket sandwich (and I have tried a few in my day). Turkey, bacon and ranch - great too. The service is great - very friendly. It takes a bit longer and costs a bit more than your typical chain sandwich shop (think: Subway) but totally worth the wait and the cost (think: no food poisoning, moist and meaty sandwiches and great service). I can no longer set foot into a Subway, Firehouse Subs has ruined me (in a good way). They have definitely found a new regular customer.

I have always loved Firehouse and always enjoyed their food but this location is by far the worst of the three that are here in Albuquerque. It is a hit and miss whether you will get the "Welcome to Firehouse" greeting. And for going as often as I do I understand that is a must for the employees. There is no enthusiasm and they direct no attention towards me while saying it. Its a shame. I went in today and they were busier than usual which was good to see but they handled the rush horribly. In the middle of the rush they had one of the crew members who was not wearing his apron or his name tag to go hold a sign outside. Isn't it more important to get the food out to your customers first?? Me personally being in management of a restaurant I thought that was poorly executed. Secondly another young lady was chewing gum while making my food. Very unprofessional. If it weren't for the fact that they were so busy I would have told the manager there, who was the only bright spot in the restaurant. Her name was Lindsay and she did a very good job. Overall I'm disappointed and not sure if I will return. The other two locations are very well run while being fast friendly and efficient. I don't see myself going back.

I would recommend this deli to anyone wanting a change from Subway. Food is great, staff is friendly and I can get anything on the menu turned into a salad and they don't even charge extra. I fully recommend this joint to everyone.

We ate here not knowing what to expect, and we tried not to get our hopes up since we abandoned Subway a good five years ago (yuck!). Luckily, we were pleasantly surprised. Firehouse Subs are super tasty, especially when you get a warm one. The atmosphere is cute as well. We'll be coming here often.

Excellent sandwiches made to order. Must tastier than Subway, which has turned to a more processed flavor to me. I've had the Italian and the Meatball and both were great. The Meatball sub is HUGE so bring your appetite.

Excellent sub's. Decently priced. If I had to pick out something, its that they don't need to scream welcome to firehouse when everyone enters. Gets a bit annoying during the busy lunch. Love the Brisket, Club and Bacon Ranch. The room can also get a bit smokey but they appear to have fixed that.

We have eaten there twice since they opened. My favorite is the Italian Sub. It is a fair price....but it did seem to be quite a wait. But, a must go for sure.
