DIVE! This place is the WORST Comfort Inn I have EVER stayed in. Seems more like a 1950's motel. Where do I begin? Wallpaper is torn on walls, electrical outlets (by the sink) have OPEN broken coverings...you can SEE the bare wires, the door falls open to the room as the building is slanted, the place is a DIVE! I would NEVER stay here again and if it weren't so late, we would move tonight. I should have read the other reviews but we were tired and traveling....DUMB, DUMB, DUMB! Skip this place if you are ever in Albuquerque! YUK!!!

This truly is a fleabag hotel. Avoid it if you can. I can't believe the name of Comfort Inn is associated with it. The price (AAA) for a king bed non-smoking was $58.99. It should have been $29.99. After we got our room key, we went to the room and the door handle was broken off the unit. Masking tape covered door handle hole. I went back to the front office to get the key for another room. The floors were dirty (when you walk around on your barefeet and get into the bathtub and see the black dirt coming off of your feet you'll know this). Half of the light fixtures in the room didn't work. The filter in the air conditioner was dirty and the unit was shot. The room smelled of "old and dirty odors". Worst of all, I could feel little bugs (mites, probably) jumping on my legs while sitting at the table writing this review. I had to go to the pharmacy after we left to buy alcohol to spray my clothing (it erodes the exo-skeletons of bugs). There is some good news: the WiFi worked well allowing me to write this review. Comfort Inn needs to sell this hotel or do a complete refurbishment.

The two people at the front desk were very nice. I got a AAA discount. And my bed was very soft and comfortable. A better room heater would have been nice. It got warm in the room though just took awhile. Otherwise, the parking was easy and the bed was soft. Thanks. :)

The remote did not match our tv. The front desk said they did not have one that did. We asked for a different room. There were obvious empty rooms. We were told there were none. When I expressed my complaint the next morning the flippant response was "sorry 'bout that".

Let's start with the not only surly but downright rude guy at the front desk. He says his name was Fred, but that's clearly fake after how he treated me and I asked for the managers information. Tired and ready for a shower, we let ourselves into a room reeking of smoke and chemicals to find shabby furniture and hairs in the bathroom. I wouldn't touch the carpet with my bare feet. The bedding is covered in cigarette burns and stains and as Im writing this I swear I'm starting to itch. I trusted the Comfort Inn name having never had a bad experience at one, but this sure means I will never seek them out again. Gross.

The Culinary Comdiean Comfort Inn yelp Chain Motel Reviews continues...Further to be known as TCCCIyCMR! We've had the good...cue the applause sign for North Platte, NE...the ugly...cue the "wha wha wha!" music for Colorado Springs, CO, and now, sadly, my people...I give you...the ugly... ...yes, the ugly...straight out of Ham N Turkey, New Mexico (yep...I had to throw that in...when I was a youngin' and my grandma lived in Albuquerque, I pronounced it Ham N Turkey...adorable I know...okay, cue the barf sound.) My first impression of this Comfort Inn was not the Comfort Inn itself but of its neighbor. Whatever motel was next door, and I'm not sure...while my pops was checking us in, mom and I were hanging near a cute little area near the pool when all of a sudden my perifoial vision caught FOUR police cars, quickly and quietly pulling into that parking lot. Nice. What a Welcome Wagon! Well, I already had my opinion on this part of town. As a kid, my folks stayed somewhere around here and my brother and I found a tampon floating in the pool and come to find out the saunas were used by hookers! Girl hookers even! Okay, I digress...we enter the seedy motel...seriously...bad and ugly in every way. But I'm anxious to relax, think about a place for dinner and first and foremost Lysol the hell out of this hole in the wall. I alway pull the CSI comforter back in any motel/hotel...seen too many episodes of Dateline, when lo and behold I see STAINED SHEETS...so grossed out! I don't utter a word to my parents as they are unpacking their wheels of meds and trying to figure out the remote. Again, no flat screen, but a television from circa 1991. Torn wallpaper, nasty carpet, mealy and stained furniture....I was aghast. Not to be outdone, it was only natural the pool and jacuzzi were closed for "chemical repairs". I can only thank them for that and saving me a visit to the doctor and an expensive regiment of ointment. Seedy. Overpriced. Dangerous. Oh...and on a parting, crabby, morning after surly note...a very kind sounding employee went ON and ON about his fucked up love life in the dining room while I was trying to scarf down my waffle and watch the Today Show (which is enough in and of it self)...seriously for at least thirty minutes. Okay Ham N Turkey. I will be back as I have an awesome aunt there and loving cousins...but I'm not "comfortable" enough to ever stay here or recommend this place to anyone. Even people I don't like. End of TCCCIyCMR and on to review NUMBER 500!

I don't understand how this place can be rated below a 4 star... must have been before the remodel, or a new manager perhaps? When it comes to hotels, I find that there are only two kinds; the nice hotels and the cheap ones. Now I say this because I've spanned the USA and hit a few spots outside of it as well. I've also been on the cleaning crew, and front desk staff as well. Having been on both sides of the counter, I feel I have acquired a critical eye. A recent move took me across the US, daily trying to find an inexpensive yet comfortable hotel. Coming into Albuquerque, NM, my Iphone app pointed me in the direction of Comfort Inn East. I chose to directly call the hotel and book a room to avoid not getting a room so late at night. I was quoted a double occupancy AAA rate room for under $65 including tax!!! Upon pulling up, I didn't know which way this one was going. By the time I left in the morning, I knew I had found a RARE GEM. There is more than enough parking for the whole place. We were pulling a large trailer and had no problem with space despite arriving at 11:30pm. As we stepped into our two-queen room, I was delightfully surprised to not find the standard "cheap" decor. The wall behind the beds had been painted a warm crimson to accent the room. The lamps had been stylishly selected, and the bedspreads were the perfect way to wrap together the "south-west" motif. The air/heating unit was new, clean, and ran quietly. Not only were the mattresses extremely comfortable, but there were double the amount of equally cozy pillows. The entire place was pristine and well kept. The room was outfitted with a microwave, fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, and sizable shower. My walk to the complimentary full breakfast revealed a lush garden landscape around the pool and hot tub. Upon entering the front lobby for breakfast I was astounded at the complimentary spread. I usually end up with concentrated OJ out of a dispenser, and a choice of Corn Flakes or Fruit Loops. Not here. There was a vast selection of breads to toast, and fresh danishes. (Not pre-packaged) An equally large selection of boxed cereals to appeal to not only kids but adults as well. Various yogurts and perfectly ripe fruit were also in attendance. What I found the most unique was fresh made waffles (choice of regular or blueberry.) The batter and the waffle iron are right on the counter tempting everyone that walks by. As I sat enjoying my crispy golden blueberry waffle, I noticed the breakfast attendant refilling the OJ jug with Odwalla OJ. A definite win in my book. He was also more than happy to help anyone with anything they needed. I was very pleased to see the milks and dairy products were sitting in a glass front fridge. It gave me the peace of mind knowing they weren't on and off of ice every day. You never know about those kinds of things on the road! The front desk staff was warm and welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure I was happy. The complimentary wifi was speedy and easy to hook up to. This place is very easily accessible from Highway 40. There are two grocery stores just across the street, which I find incredibly convenient when traveling on the road. And for those who what something quick and cheap, there are many fast food places within a 1/2 mile on the same road. If I had my way, I would duplicate Comfort Inn East and put it EVERYWHERE!!! I have since traveled through Albuquerque and made it a point to drive an extra two hours to stay here. This hotel is a rare gem, and if you happen to be passing through Albuquerque and need a place to stay, Do yourself a favor and stay here. Not only for the amazing amenities, but that you get them for an amazing rate!!!
