I've stayed at this hotel on several occasions and on this trip, I still really enjoyed my stay. The only thing I'd have to say is that it was a bit disappointing that they no longer had the bottles of water available in the fitness center...it was very convenient to have that available during/after a work-out. Also, it seems like they are redoing the poll, which definitely needs some remodeling.

Excellently comfy beds (what more could you expect from a marriott!!) Lobby nice and clean and the pool was good. Breakfast area was also clean and comfortable booths. We also liked the idea of having a driver to take us around Albuquerque city centre, and he was on call! Loved it and definitely coming back here next time I'm in Albuquerque!

Be prepared to pay for every little extra. ...and the advertised hot tub is no longer here.

We brought our kids for a little get out of town a few days while my husband attended a training seminar at the hotel. At check in, the desk clerk told my husband we were upgraded. When arriving to our room I was less than impressed. The room was small, the bathroom quite small, no mini-fridge and the room felt a bit worn. If this was an upgrade I would hate to see a standard room. The lighting and number of outlets for charging phones and tablets were adequate. The bed was just okay and on the soft side. I, unfortunately, woke up with lower back pain. I took the kids to the indoor pool and enjoyed how cool and comfortable it was inside considering how hot it was outside in the evening hours. The lobby and bar area get busy during the evening hours. The hotel is definitely geered to business events and meetings. The concierge room offers breakfast with a decent variety of items and evening beverages. It's quite small and could easily use another room to accommodate those partaking in breakfast or night caps more comfortably. I loved having an array of shopping and restaurants within walking distance and three malls close in proximity to the hotel. Staff was top notch while always helpful and professional. I think this site could be a shining star with some upgrades and changes. I expected more since this is a Marriott property.

This is a great Marriott in a great location. It is true that the lobby is modern, while the rooms are a bit dated and worn. However it is very clean and the front staff are always professional. I'd call this property business comfortable. As a business traveler, it suits my taste and needs quite well.

Thank you Marriott for the Military Discount! If you need to stay the night in Albuquerque and it must be a Marriott-CHOOSE THIS ONE! I have stayed at the Marriott near the airport and that's okay, I've stayed at the old Pyramid Marriott-and that's terribly dated with a mess of construction right now. But this one is the best. Upscale, clean, new, modern, and convenient/walking distance to eateries like Macaroni Grill and a brand new outdoor mall that's just being built with a Trader Joe's! Check-in was a breeze and a friendly bellman helped us with our luggage. I always request a feather free bed and I'm easily accommodated. Room was spotless. The high-rise hotel was off the interstate and we chose a top floor with a nice view of the Sandia mountains and no road noise. Bonus: Indoor/Outdoor pool! Room service was yummy and the hubby went downstairs to the lounge to get some cocktails. Margaritas were fabulous. Service friendly.

Terrible. Old, unloved property long overdue for an overhaul. Crummy, small, dingy rooms. Hotel wide Poorly functioning AC (room temp never got down below 78). My two colleagues reported the same AC issue. Worst coffee I've ever had. Waited 10 minutes for restaurant staff to appear at 830 am. Avoid this property.

I travel enough for Business and personal that I know a hotel and staff that tries v. those that just go through the paces. While the room was fine and I have no use for the pool or bar, this review is for the staff that truly understand what Customer Service means! Each encounter, from check in to directions to the doormen was outstanding. Here's an example: The room's air conditioner wasn't cooling the room down so around 8pm I walked down to the front desk to ask if maintenance could come up and take a look at the A/C. I turned around and got in the elevator and before as I turn down the hall to my room, there's Maintenance knocking on my door. The guy was extremely pleasant, efficient and 10 minutes later, I had all the cold air I could handle. Thank you to the good folks at the Marriott there.... you try and it shows!!

This was my first time staying at this Marriott and I'm pretty sure it's my last. I was just extremely unimpressed with pretty much everything. The hotel has been renovated but it still looks a bit "tired" and not quite up to snuff. First, I arrived around 9:30pm, so it was dark and the parking lot is kind of far from the entrance which sucks. The parking lot isn't well lit either which makes the walk to the hotel a bit uncomfortable. When I got to my room, I was surprised to find that there was no mini fridge in here. That was especially annoying because I had just bought 6 cups of yogurt that were not going to be thrown away. After tossing away a few dollars in the trash, I decided I wanted to get online. Well when I tried to log on it said that it was $14.95, so I called the front desk to see if they really charged for Wifi and she said that since I was a Rewards member that it would be complimentary. That was nice, but annoying that I just couldn't automatically connect to the internet. When I took my shower, I realized that the water wasn't draining and pulled up the drain, but that didn't really seem to help. There was literally 2 inches of water in the tub. The next day when I took a shower, I made sure that the drain wasn't down and the water still wouldn't drain. There was still over 2 inches of water in the tub. I will say that the workers have all been very friendly and that the location of this hotel in Uptown is great, but that's about all this place has going for it.

More like a 2.5* So...i thought this place was kinda dumpy...but after seeing all the other hotels in ABQ...have decided it's probably avg or above avg! Hmmmmmmmm

No complaints, other than some wi-fi issues. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and spacious, comfortable bed and they provide free bottled water in the rooms. Lobby is renovated and fitness center has everything you would need, including cardio equipment with individual televisions. Hotel is surrounded by strip malls with plenty of shopping and dining options.

Beautiful hotel with great employees who take action before I can even figure things out. I stayed there because of a graduation party I was attending was at this hotel. My daughter joined us as well. When booking I messed up and ordered a room with one bed. I was checked in quickly and was just turned around to find the room when one of the desk help persons asked me if needed two beds. I said yes and he apologized because I was checked into a one bed room. I told him that was my fault and thanked him for noticing this and changing it before I had to come back down. All the employees at the hotel seemed empowered to make decisions and help whenever and where ever they were needed. That was refreshing to see. I don't normally stay in Albuquerque but if I do I would return to this hotel. Rooms are nice and beds are comfy! The views are spectacular as well.

Lovely hotel with a nice indoor/outdoor pool and great service. Quite impressed with the rooms, despite it being an older building. The only improvements to our stay would have been two queen sized beds instead of full and to have a hot tub outside next to the pool. We had a very large group and the staff was helpful. The lounge area and bar adjacent to the lobby are very nice and a great place for adults to sit together - not particularly child-friendly.

We stayed here for the Gathering of Nations pow wow. We did mobile check in before we arrived and when we got to the hotel it took less than 1 minute for us to have our room key in our hand. Wow. Talk about efficient. The front desk clerk was young but very professional. We were on the 14th floor. Our room had a beautiful view of the mountains. The concierge lounge on this floor is very noisy. It closed at 10:30 on the first night of our stay and the drunk, LOUD people that were waiting on the elevator could be heard all the way down our hall. We did not use many of the services offered by the hotel as we did not spend much time in our room. One night at almost midnight we were looking for something to eat a small pie with that we bought at a local business and when I finally called the front desk they were happy to get us silverware complete with fancy cloth napkins...at midnight. The hotel is beautiful and not at all dated. I thought the rooms were kept very nicely. The bed is soft and I overheard someone say theirs went down in the middle. It has a nice location right off the freeway and there is easy in and out. My only complaint would be the parking lot. there just isn't enough of it. It could use an overhaul as the paint is worn off most of the spaces. There is a wonderful shopping area within walking distance if you just want to get out. We would definitely book this again.

A regular, nice Marriott. Staff was excellent and catered to a crazy crowd. This was the team hotel for the Colorado State Rams who were in town to win the New Mexico Bowl four days before Christmas. The staff were all wearing CSU gear and were a lot of fun for a very rowdy and very large group. I have stayed at this location before and have always enjoyed my stay. Lots of great shopping and eating choices within a block or two of the hotel.

Nice location for my business travel, relative, of course, to why you're traveling. Check-In was prompt and pleasant. Staff have been efficient and effective throughout. Bed is Marriott comfy, as always! Toiletries are higher end. Concierge lounge is a pleasant break from going in search of breakfast before work or addressing that sweet tooth before bed. Pool area would be better if the smoking area was moved to the other side of the building. The WiFi bandwidth was sadly inferior (glad I travel with an air card). The hotel is conveniently located across from shopping and restaurants, and the ever faithful Starbucks.

Now I know why most of the people I work with stayed at the Embassy Suites down the road. The Good... My corporate rate was $110. Beds here are always good Lobby is nice nice soaps, etc in the bathroom The Bad and REALLY BAD... Hot tub was closed because it was not handicap accessible. We'll I'm not handicap. Either let me in or spend the $2k to make it pass code. Poor/lame excuses don't cut it at a Marriott property! Coffee was like water - I was even happy to pay for something better and thier bar does not even have an espresso machine!? My room was on the 11th floor and partly angled towards the highway, not completely but it still was loud! There is almost no sound blocking in the walls and glass. I had to use foam ear plugs to sleep The breakfast served for the event was poor. Compared to the little tiny place in Sante Fe the day before the selection was less than half the items and the breakfast burritos were crusty like there were left over from the day before. Really bad!

The beds are HORRIBLE!!!! I've definitely been to much better Marriott's. The lounge stinks. the people who work here were ehh, not the friendliest. The pool is nice and location is good. I really like staying at Marriott's but I would prefer not to come back to this one. Plus I felt the room was a bit dusty

Pros- Staff is amazing, the front desk is fantastic and very helpful. The housekeeping staff are very nice but unfortunately don't speak very good English. Rooms are very clean with plenty of towels. Gym has complimentary head phones, free apples, and individual Tvs on machines. Staff calls you the night before your checkout to make sure you've had a good stay. Cons- No fridge or microwave in hotel room. Room prices go up on Sundays. Waiters in the bar downstairs need to be more careful when speaking to guests, he asked me what I was doing in the bar because I didn't fit the usally demographic for the hotel. I'm sure he didn't mean to be rude but it came off wrong. Room key expired a day before my check out but problem way fix quickly.

Nice lobby and grounds. Check in was fast, we were placed in a double instead of a king, fixed that quickly and efficiently, thank you Kia!! We will stay again. Staff is all very friendly! couple of areas to consider; parking lot is very dark at night, and just a question why is the music so loud by elevators and front entrance? Very nice overall!!

I will make this review short and sweet. The checkin process was quick and the staff we encountered friendly. This location is dated and could use an extensive remodel to bring the building into the 21st century. The most shocking thing about our stay is that we discovered our linens weren't clean and we developed scabies when we got home. Absolutely disgusting.

I travel to Albuquerque quite a bit for business and always stay at a Marriott Property. The rooms are somewhat nicer than the Marriott Pyramid north of town. I like the location of this Marriott better as well - Target down the street and a plethora of restaurants within walking distance (mostly chains however). If you plan on hosting a meeting/event here....That is another story. I will not mention names to save face, but we held a 2 day meeting session here and there weren't many other events going on at the time - Last Monday and Tuesday (Mar. 9 and 10). I would understand our problems that we encountered if they were busy, but they were not! Let me preface with that I had sent a VERY detailed outline for our event with start times, break times, how many chairs we needed, that I would like the beverage table inside the meeting room (so people do not have to keep opening and closing the door to refresh their drinks, etc), what A/V services I needed, room set up diagram, when the food needed to be ready for early arrivers, etc. When I showed up Monday morning 2 hours before the meeting, NOTHING was set up yet. I left and went to the concierge room to give them a chance and some space. Returned an hour later...By now everything should be set up. The room had been set up but COMPLETELY wrong. 10 chairs short, no A/V (the A/V guy was never even communicated to that we needed him), the room set up was incorrect, etc. To cut this short, everything was wrong...When I expressed this to the nice gentlemen that was setting up the room (he was not the meeting manager for my event) he rushed to the office to get some help with changing the set up, etc and showed concern and apologized. I gave him a copy of the outline I had sent to the sales office 2 WEEKS prior to our arrival and brought it to the office's attention...No one EVER came to apologize...POOR POOR POOR customer service. They made me jump through hoops to get a direct bill set up and I work for a large automotive manufacturer and have over 100 Marriotts set up in our system for direct bills (including Ritz Carltons and JW Marriotts...Which sorry to say, are 5 star hotels and the ABQ Marriott tried to think of themselves on the same level...But when comparing, reach to maybe a 3 star). Expressed my disappointment with upper level management at the hotel and really didn't hear anything back... The Marriott Pyramid has MUCH better customer service and they actually care and show it versus the Marriott on Lousiana not even pretending to care...They just flat out DON'T and it is VERY evident. This is not my first bad experience and keep giving them 2nd and 3rd chances... The only thing they try to do is place 2 staff members in the entrance of the hotel to "greet" people as they walk in and out of the hotel...They don't really pay attention to what they are doing, they are just going through the motions of saying "Hello." They asked me how my day was 10 times in a row when I kept crossing through the lobby while setting up for our meeting - Never realizing that they had said the same exact thing to the same person within a 30 minute time period...Seriously?! Annoying...Put more effort into your property, staff hiring and customer service, please.

"Great Stay... Excellent for the Price." The Hotel just had a major renovation. Zealous and caring staff, new carpet throughout and our room was like new. Great linen and towels. Comfortable King size bed... Super pool for family... look, what is not to like? Strongly recommend.

I cannot speak highly enough about this hotel and the night we spent here. My fiancé is a platinum member and was the only one there the night we drove threw town and the manager at check in gave us the presidents sweet. The view was amazing and our welcome bottle of wine and chocolate ice cream was very yummy. The concierge lounge was a few floors down from our room and had a nice variety of snacks and drinks. There hot tee selection was a stand out. We were driving cross country so we only stayed for one night but while checking out Bryan made a comment about he would stay another night if he could. The guy who he was checking out with apologies and says if he wanted to stay another night if would be in a different room because zz top had the room booked for that night. Low and behold as we walking out the zz top tour bus is pulling in.

I stayed here recently as part of a 4 day stay in ABQ. I am usually a Hilton guy (cost permitting) but this was the location for the conference I was attending. The facility was more than adequate, including their pool and gym facilities. In particular, this hotel scores high marks for excellent customer service. All of the staff at the front desk and throughout the hotel were very friendly and eager to assist with your needs. I had a lunch and dinner at their restaurant (caesar salad for lunch, spring rolls for dinner) and the food was well prepared and presented. Quality of the food as great. The staff in the hotel bar were amazingly friendly as were the people I met there. I was pleased to meet several locals at the bar who were extremely friendly and fun (usually it's just other business travelers). I stayed through sunday morning and had some fun at the hotel Sat night. Even if you aren't staying at the Marriott id make a pit stop here if I was in the area. I was very impressed with the level of service and friendliness I encountered among the staff here.

Have you seen those new commercials from Marriotts about the totally customizable room? Well this is one of the first I have stayed at that move in that direction. It isn't that big of a deal, really, if this hotel is any indication. Marriott's has added a 32 inch LG flat screen TV to the room, with multiple video/audio inputs. So you can watch HD TV stations and feed your presentation into it, although the room is a single king or double queen, so it really isn't conducive to any meeting. (Marriotts is trying to compete with Hyatt Place, the new chain that was formerly Amerisuites, which has a 42 inch plasma TV in the room that swivels between the bedroom area and the cushy sectional couch/desk/office front area. Hyatt Place's LG TV has all the inputs, too, but in a better design room to use it with more space for the business traveller, at about $139/nt. Still, I don't see a lot of business people making presentations in their room, unless only to their associates travelling with them as pre-meeting prep, but the HD large screen is great for relaxing or working in the room. There is a Hyatt Place in ABQ closer to downtown right near the Airport.) But I digress. This is a decent Marriotts with over 400 rooms in a 17 story building with a plenty of meeting rooms. The guest rooms are average for Marriotts in smaller markets and the prices are appropo. The rack rate is $199/nt, but I got a great rate reflecting a block room rate for a conference I was attending during the low travel season of $89, which is lower than the typical travel industry discount of 50% off. There is free WIFI in the meeting rooms but $9.95 in your guest room per day, typical for most Marriott brands. As Jerry J mentioned, it is close to a mall and just a few miles from downtown and UNM, which both offer plenty of eating and shopping choices. There is a nice view of the Sandia Mountains to the east. The hotel offers Cielo Sandia restaurant (American food), and the Lobby Lounge for cocktails. Parking is free. They do have a PC kiosk to check-in to your flight and print your boarding pass for free, which is becoming de rigeur for most business hotels now (as opposed to buying time in the Business Center PC to do this.) There is no free shuttle to/from the airport so you will have to take a third party shuttle or cab or rent a car. This Marriott is about 8 miles from ABQ Sunport Airport, about 4 miles north on I-40 and 4 more east on I-25.

It is ok. The people are ridiculously friendly which made a mediocre hotel experience solid. But, I have definitely seen worse. The facility is outdated, and, despite their "multi-million dollar upgrade," it is still so-so at best. The air conditioning barely keeps things cool, and the rooms are small. My remote did not work, either. The "bar" is a bunch of tables in the lobby. And, it was BEYOND a disappointment to find out that the concierge lounge is closed on all weekend. And, the Platinum amenity was a split of chardonnay.

The staff here care. Check in was a plus. They were speedy. The hotel staff and concierge staff were awesome. All were very happy and seemed to care that I had a pleasant experience. The room was nothing to brag about but I have to say one thing really impressed me. I left the do not disturb tag on the door. They left a care kit with new towels water soaps etc. This is the only hotel I've seen do that. How cool! Food at concierge was as good as usual. Again, staff made the hotel with their kindness.

After the Night from hell at a hotel in Wichita Falls, TX. I decided to I was not going to stay at a roach motel and booked the Marriott off I-40 instead. What a difference paying the extra $35 makes. My sister and I got checked in at about 6 PM. Which made me happy because not only did we actually get to enjoy the view, we enjoyed the comfortable beds, and just being able to relax, because its not a drug infested cheap motel. There is every kind of chain restaurant around the hotel to choose from, and a giant target across the street just in case you need it. Also, there are tons of stores near by for shopping. We did not stay long, just one night. Otherwise, we might still be there... It was such a better place to stay. Be advised, the room service is extremely expensive, and the Mexican restaurant across from the hotel, Ojos Locos., is NOT family friendly. It is a BAR not a restaurant. However, if you are a straight single male, have fun all the waitress at the restaurant are basically nude, even more so than the girls at hooters. The food there is awful.

This is my second stay at the Albuquerque Marriott in the past three months. The exceptional service (read: best I've ever gotten at a Marriott property) is what made my decision to return an easy one. The General Manager, Douglas, sent me an email the day prior to my arrival, welcoming me back to the property. I was checked in promptly and courteously, with the same level of service I've come to expect from this hotel. The staff is more than attentive to your needs, and will stop at nothing to ensure your satisfaction. I'd like to take a minute to address some comments made by others, as they must not be frequent travelers. To qualify myself, I've spent over 1000 nights over the past 15 years in Marriott hotels, and have reached "Lifetime Platinum" status. 1. Free Wifi. Sorry, but you're not going to find it at 95% of full service hotels, whether it be Hilton, Marriott, or Hyatt. Not happening. Expect to pay 10-15 dollars a night. Want free wifi? Go stay at a Courtyard, Hampton, or Fairfiled Inn. 2. Room size. I'll admit, the rooms are a bit small, but they are adequate. I don't know why someone would complain. 3. "The property is dated" Yes, this is an older hotel, but the renovation is awesome. The lobby is very nicely done, the workout room is well above average, and the rooms are comfortable, modern, and clean. 4. "The service was bad". I call BS on this one. They may have had a bad experience, but trust me, this is the exception rather than the rule. The service sets this place apart. 5. "I was BEYOND disappointed to learn that the concierge lounge was closed on the weekend." Yeah, another clueless traveler...95% of Marriotts close their concierge lounges on Friday and Saturday nights. The lounge caters specifically to business travelers, who generally are not there on the weekends. The great thing about yelp is that it gives everyone a voice...the crappy thing about yelp is that it gives everyone a voice. Trust me, as a traveler who is actually qualified to review hotels accurately, this is an awesome hotel. If you're headed through Albuquerque, book yourself a stay at the Albuquerque Marriott. You'll be glad you did.

I should have stayed at the other Marriott. The guest room was a wreck. Old and dilapidated. The carpet is a shambles, the bathroom was drains were rusty. The only redeeming quality is the concierge lounge. The morning staff was great ( Angelica and Lupe) and the food was actually very good.

Stayed here for one night just passing through Albuquerque with last minute reservations. Gold Elite landed us free upgrade to concierge level, although room next to concierge kitchen was a little noisy at 2230 and 0530. The lounge had excellent hors d'oeuvres in the evening with a small service bar and a substantial complimentary breakfast in the morning (full continental with scrambled and hardboiled eggs, ham and salami, fresh fruits (chopped strawberries and pineapple) and good juice selection. Very pleased with lounge service and foods. We tried to eat at the restaurant down in the lobby the night we stayed but the menu was very expensive ($22 for basic enchiladas) and service was a little slow due to undermanned staff. Tortilla soup was underwhelming. Room was clean with good view of Sandia Mountains where we had the privilege of enjoying a picturesque sunrise and the added excitement of witnessing the thunderstorm run through town through the floor to ceiling windows. Staff was exceptionally polite and friendly. Very happy with service. Overall as a Marriott faithful I am pleased with my stay and will come back.

Lets just say that the location is Perfect!!!!!! Hotel is right off the I40 making it the perfect choice... I stayed on the 15th Floor which being Platinum Elite Status allows me access to the Concierges Lounge a place where you can drink for free untill 10pm... I booked this room using my points 20,000 to be exact cool because after living in a Marriot for almost a year it is paying off!!!!!! From the minute I booked the room over the phone the Customer Service was Exemplary!!!!! The check in staff were quick and too the point getting me checked in within minutes and heading to my room with family in tow... All I can say is there are tons of ammenities I will not bore you with... If your in Albuquerque stop in and enjoy all the comforts J.W. Marriot strives to offer...

Great lobby, bar, breakfast and customer service. I'm HHonors and always will be, so it's tough to give 4 stars to any other hotel chain, but this hotel understands the definition of hospitality. Very comfy beds, with pillows that are just right and a very clean/new room setting. Recommended!

This hotel is fantastic. We had many family members fly in for a funeral. The staff was friendly, helpful, and compassionate! We received a bereavement room fee at $ 83.00 which included concierge room. The van drivers were excellent and helpful. The front desk was superb and went out of their way to help me print material and use computers when I was in a pinch. One night we had 40 family members converge in the bar. The staff was really proficient, patient in a hectic environment. That evening turned into a wonderful event because of the manager and waitresses. We were grateful. Many in our party commented on the wonderful treatment and friendliness of the staff which is why I decided to post a review. I thought the hotel looked clean and our room was clean with a nice view. But like I said before, it was the fantastic costumer service from all staff I encountered which made this Marriott a stand-out!

This hotel has the NICEST staff of any other hotel I've stayed in. Things I liked: - The pool (gets sunny after 12:30pm) - The gym is a good size and has free weights - Coffee in the morning and "spa" water in the afternoon - Friendly staff - Shuttle anywhere within five miles - Bath & Body Works shampoo and conditioner - You can walk to a couple malls and places to eat from the hotel Things they could do better: - Offer complimentary Internet - Offer some sort of breakfast Tips if you're staying here: - Trader Joe's is a short walk, request a refrigerator before you arrive because they don't have enough for everyone. - Take a trip with New Mexico Jeep Tours - well worth the money!

Even during the balloon fiesta - such friendly service! Some names we remember of great customer interaction, Ramone, Raul (visiting manager), and Mike (F& B Director). Quiet room on the 7th floor, fabulous breakfast in the morning, and chocolate ice cream on the room service menu. What more can we ask for? :) They excel at customer service! We will definitely stay here for next year's balloon fiesta!

Don't stay here! Only good thing was room was clean and Ryan at the door was the only friendly face! First we only had mostly cool water in bathroom the a bunch of floors had the water shutdown for hours then after that mostly only very hot water! We ended up with a steaming toilet!! When the water in yor toilet is steaming..what else is being released from the steam! If you wanted cool water you had to let it run for a half hour! So clean your teeth with hot water! And the front desk didn't know what a smile was, especially Amanda the person in charge! Broken ice machine,ATM and we needed help after our sat night convention moving things were basically told we were out of luck! Never were told how to find the person in charge of city info till the day before leaving and oh they were closed that day. And to top it off the day we were leaving the manager wouldn't meet with us even to give the comp breakfast we never got ! And had pulled my car up to the reservation driveway to be close to load our own luggage and didn't notice my new car was damaged by what looked like a door had slammed into it with the same white paint that the hotel van had parked next to my car. It's been a week and Marriott still hasn't resolved any of my complaints. The only friendly face and good service was at Denny's where we ate our breakfast. Bad experience at this Marriott. a week later all I got was we're sorry and yor right the water was messed up all week...oh and too bad about your NEW CAR,,,,and some points so yo come back again! And Corporate office never called back to see if situation was resolved! So guess WHAT......never again!!!!!!!!!!!!! And careful at night the bus stop is back behind the hotel.......undesirable people.....At night climbing the fence to use the pools and downstairs some of the dorrs wouldn't lock so...we were told.....undesirables going into the hotel at 2am...and legally they couldn't kick them out!!!!

Not the nicest marriott property I've stayed in, but it's convenient, clean enough and will probably be the only place I stay in Albuquerque. The bar area in the lobby is very nice. I haven't eaten here so I can't comment on the food. The rooms are certainly a bit dated, but as I mentioned, plenty clean. I would rate this particularly Marriott in the bottom third of Marriott (flagship) properties I have stayed with.

This location was defiantly not worth the price I paid - $165 a night. For that price you would think they would include free wifi, NOT! The only thing I liked about the room was it was clean. The staff was barely friendly. I would not recommend this location.

Okay, okay.. maybe I was a bit too harsh in my first review here. After an extremely mediocre stay at the Fairfield, my next night was back here... and I was much, much happier than my first experience. The front desk staff was very friendly.. even accommodated me with an early check-in at 11am!! AND... gave me a room with a "city view" so that I could see the balloons in the morning. (i was there during Balloon Fiesta.) Atleast I had a few choices for internet.... $12.95/24 hours... or $1.95/hour. So I used the $1.95/hour a couple two-three times. That was fine w me. But even during Balloon Fiesta, I scored a great deal -- $104/night!

Very pleased with my 2-day midweek stay here. Staff was friendly and welcoming and the room was comfortable. I loved the Bath and Bodyworks amenities. Location is convenient and within walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. I especially loved the indoor/outdoor pool and large fitness room.

Stayed four days in June. Hotel has been renovated at some point and my room was comfortable with plush bedding. Very friendly, helpful personnel at all levels. Facility was clean and the banquet meals tasty. Round trip non-hotel shuttle to/from airport is $28. I wish someone at the hotel had told me that there is a complementary shuttle within a five mile radius of the hotel. This is NOT provided in the information notebook in the room nor did I see it posted any place in the hotel. There is a nice mall and many restaurants in the area which are not really within walking distance for me. Knowing about the shuttle would have been very helpful. In the bar area there is coffee and tea table set up each morning. After that, they are replaced by two large clear urns containing water with lots of crushed ice and fresh cut fruit in the water such as mango, watermelon, lime, orange, etc. Very refreshing on a hot New Mexico day.

My only disappointment is that internet service is $10/day extra. There was a problem with the bathroom light, and upon checkout I mentioned that no one came to fix it even though I reported it. They apologized and gave us 1000 points to our frequent guest account. Decent exercise facility, spa, pool, hot tub. Attractive bar and restaurant, but a tad expensive.

Typical Marriott that caters to business travellers. We found the room where they have the complimentary continental breakfast and cookies in the evening. One issue was that one of the beds had not been changed with fresh linens. With the new policy of leaving the card on the beds that need changing, it's understandable. The problem was when they asked if we wanted it changed, even after they inspected and could see that someone had obviously slept in it and left some lint and dirt....yuck!

It's your typical Marriott. Relatively clean. Moderately priced ($99/night). We stayed only one night and it was fine.

We booked this hotel for one night through hotwire while we were relocating cross country from New York to Arizona. They were more than happy to accommodate our late check in (they actually hold the reservation until 2am, so we really didn't need to even call). We were given a lovely corner room on the 10th floor with gorgeous views of the Sandias. The room was clean, and well stocked with coffee, etc. The location of the hotel is convenient to downtown ABQ, as well as the newly expanded midtown shopping district. I wish we had more time to stay and explore more, but we will definitely be back and plan to stay here again. The ONLY thing I would suggest is to turn down the muzak in the lobby!! It was SO LOUD by the elevator that I thought I would go deaf!

Great hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Clean well appointed rooms. Breakfast in the morning was good too. The only complaint was no vent fan in the bathroom

Stayed here for a business trip. Overall the hotel was just ok. I'm on the government per diem and was not able to get the rate but due to the location of where I needed to be stayed here. Overall the staff was extremely friendly and helpful with questions about the area. Room was clean however, I have a problem with any hotel that still charges for Internet (14.95/day). In my opinion, every hotel should offer this for free. The exercise room was in need of some update equipment but it did the job. There is a restaurant on site but honestly, the hotel is within walking distance to a number of restaurants, a target, mall and a movie theater so the location makes up for what the hotel lacks.

Goo property. Noisy lobby and not really designed for the tourists. Lots of weekday business. Concierge lounge is small but same number of people. Food was gone. This is a full service Marriott hotel is is definitely designed for the business travelers and not the vacationers. The lobby area is quite noisy, especially the bar which was well packed with the after-work crowd and the ones who were stacking up their Marriott points by eating here. Quite a lot of elite travelers doing their thing, which made for a very crowded concierge lounge that had the usual number of visitors but was smaller than it could have been. Breakfast was well stocked with bagels and eggs and such, but the evening hours had pretty well decimated most of the food on offer. Snooze, you (I) lose. Our room on the 14th floor was quiet without the usual slamming doors that I've come to notice a lot of lately. Very little room from the hallway or the neighbors. Bed was comfortable, if a little soft. We did not visit the indoor/outdoor pool, exercise room or the restaurant. Good shopping right across the street and many restaurants if you want to get out of the hotel. Our room had a nice view of the mountains at sunset.

***This dated Marriott is serviceable and clean, but it could use an update*** Albuquerque is not a lively and energetic city when compared to some of the country's top destination cities like Chicago or San Francisco so it is no surprise that the Marriott here is mostly just functional and clean and not contemporary or unique. This Marriott has an okay lobby and the rooms are clean and comfortable but dated. The Concierge Lounge (for Marriott Rewards Gold and Platinum members) is very small and too small for breakfast. Their breakfast offerings included cold options like fruit and yogurt, cereal, breakfast pastries and breads, scrambled eggs, and oatmeal. This Marriott is located in a very suburban-like area with chain restaurants and a Target. It is not that long of a drive though to get to Downtown Albuquerque or the airport. Service was good. Room rates are reasonable for weekends though the rates are a tad pricey on weekdays. This Marriott is probably a decent option for Albuquerque, but if you are used to staying at Marriott hotels in bigger cities, you are likely to leave this one disappointed. Free self parking is available. It is easy finding an open space.
