Not somewhere I would recommend stopping in, but I stayed at the attached hotel. Got breakfast here, it's was OK but nothing to write home about. The waitress and service was pleasant and the coffee is decent. Inexpensive prices.

Ate here because we stayed @ the Best Western. I looked @ the reviews and they were terrible but still decided to eat here because we were tired and did not want to drive anywhere after being on the road all day. First off ordered a coctail -mojito (bar & grill right). Was told he wasn't sure the bartender

I am writing this because there were no Yelp tips or reviews on this place when we looked this place up and I reeeaally wish there had been. Jump to the bottom for more serious stuff. We were finished with some appointments when the combination of hunger and free time came together. We talked about options and decided to let the Entertainment Book be our guide. Albuquerque Bar & Grill won the choice and we talked about past experiences as we drove toward the Old Town area. She thought she remembered it being in another location years ago and I added that I'd had a great salad topped with strawberries there a few years back. One important detail was that there were NO Yelp reviews or tips on this place. We arrived to find we had beaten the rush. It was a Muzak filled void and we were the only ones in the place. A bit of breakfast was still visible on the dishes left on a table near the door. Perhaps the busboy called in sick today. We were seated by a fairly friendly waiter who took our drink orders and gave us menus. We would learn that his new favorite word is: "Boss". "Get you something to drink, boss?" "Ready to order, boss?" There are not too many choices on their menu, as you can see by the photos we took of them. That does not mean the food won't be amazing, so we decided to forge on. We asked about the soup of the day. A bean variety that didn't grab us, so I let him know I was on the fence and thinking about the enchilada or the tamale plate. Which would he suggest? He said he wasn't sure. I asked if he'd eaten the tamales and he said he had. Then silence. He looked at us. My friend asked if they were red or green inside and he said green. So I asked how he eats them. He said smothered in green chile or with lots and lots of salt. OK. (That was a big clue I missed) Smothered it is. My friend ordered the portobello sandwich. Then we noticed that my fork had not been washed since it's last use. No harm, it's easily replaced. As we waited on our meal, it struck me that half the room was barren. There are nice wooden shutter and things to the rear, but the room felt oddly more suited to holding the complimentary cereal & yogurt in morning. At a table in the center of the room sat a man who appeared to be the head chef. Baggy gym pants & white chef top and a chef cap trying to hold in braids or dreads led me to that conclusion. He and a lady who seemed to be management greet two women who joined them at the table and began to talk about new menus, signs and so on to bring in more business. Not the wisest choice for a business meeting. Especially when the cook is showing 10 inches of Butt Crack! Wow. Ok. So we don't look that direction! Food arrives and looks ok, but taste is terrible. My 1 1/2 tamales (shoulda been 2) was mostly masa, helped out only by the cold, weak green chile sauce. Beans & rice were unseasoned, bland and buried in colby-jack cheese. Her plate looked fine but lacked any bread and was drowning in vinegar-something. Just awful. The fries were not bad but the good looking veggies on plate were also soaked in vinegar. The upside is that we paid, left and went to a great place called Which-Wich! To the owners & staff: You are a local business and we tried to support you. Your food is what needs to change first, then worry about marketing! Remember, your location means you will feed many precious visitors to our City and your food should represent us well. Please strive for excellence!! I did not give 1 star because bathroom was clean, server was not rude, food did not make us ill and I'm encouraging improvement.

This place was an utter disappointment. It is attached to the Best Western Rio Grande Inn (wonderful hotel). The hotel gives you a $5 voucher per person to this restaurant upon check in. On 1/3/14, after driving over 12 hours, we checked in to the hotel and decided to eat at the Albuquerque Bar & Grill for dinner (saving our vouchers for breakfast) to avoid going back out in the cold. We waited to be seated and were quickly helped and seated to a table. At the time, there was one family of four dining and a couple came in about 5 minutes after we did. There is a bar adjacent to the dining area with a door that divides it completely (that was open). It took a long time to get our food ordered, despite the lack of customers and them having two servers. When the waitress finally arrived I ordered the adovado burrito (one of my faves after eating at Sadie's a few times now) while my husband ordered some pasta dish. We waited a long time for our food. At this point, the family that was sitting there had already gone and there was us and the other couple. From the bar, a loud, obnoxious, obviously drunk man kept screaming and making tons of noise. His annoying antics kept on through the remainder of our meal and the service did nothing to close that door or tell the man to quiet down. Once the food arrived, the greatest disappointment was prevalent. My husband's pasta, which was unappetizingly green (the name of the dish escapes me) looked as gross as it tasted. It was made with pesto, but everything else in it was green too and not good. My burrito was terrible. The beans were dry, the meat lacked flavor and was very fatty, and the salsa was disgusting. They have pies displayed at the entry and a slice sounded delicious after the terrible dinner. I asked for a slice of apple and out came this luke-warm mess. It had a good flavor, but later we discovered we were charged $6 for the slice, not the $4 advertised on the sign. We were never offered a refill the entire time we were there. IF YOU CAN AVOID IT, DO NOT EAT HERE FOR DINNER! After dinner, if I could have given this place zero stars, I would have. But in order to use our vouchers and get out on the road quicker, we decided to go back for breakfast (hoping it would be different, of course). I ordered a breakfast burrito that was actually delicious and my husband had some eggs. Breakfast was fine, but again slow and we were never offered refills. At this point, I would be happier with the make-your-own-plate atmosphere of a continental breakfast that other hotels offer.

For a place I see driving by the free way on old town district which has some of the best restaurants in the city, I figured why not try it. Service wasn't too bad, every one was nice how ever you only had two servers for the hole restaurant so ended up waiting a while. Drinks were limited and more than likely were out of anything you were trying to get or they said they had. Food was terrible, could taste stale chips with the chips and salsa, and my burger was somthing old from the freezer and then way over cooked. Looking at it it was a bar and grill inside a best western holtel, so the quality was that of a free continental breakfast. This will be my last time eating or drinking there that's for sure.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
