Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

I get stuck here for business luncheons sometimes. High points: Nice Italian food in a small town otherwise devoid of it. Several specialty beers on tap. Low points: The food is a game of roulette as it runs from just fair to awesome. The experience with the wait staff is random too as sometimes they're frustrated and blowing off steam in front of the patrons and sometimes they are pleasant and attentive. You may be able to avoid some disappointment by sticking to the Italian fare. I had a good salad there once. (Please note I have informed Yelp that there are two listings for Pizza Patio)

We've been here several times since moving to Alamogordo and have always had a good experience. Although I've lowered my standards on all things "restaurant" because there are so few options in town, the pizza is good and I would recommend Pizza Patio as a good Alamogordo restaurant for pizza and salads.

We went here with friends on a calm Friday afternoon. The waitress was super friendly and was completely ok with us continually adding chairs as more people showed up. The atmosphere was average for a pizza joint. I ordered a salad and it was very good, but you can't really mess up a salad. My husband had sandwich and was also pleased. I wouldn't mind coming back.

It's the best pizza in Alamogordo. That's not really saying much, but it's perfectly decent pie. The service is friendly, the beer list is as good as it gets around here, and the ambiance is pleasant. You can get green chiles on a pizza and there's a long list of sandwiches and pastas. Given that our other alternatives are Pizza Hut, Pizza Mill, and Carinos, it deserves four stars, in context, even if pizza that's leagues better is available in Las Cruces and elsewhere.

My wife's friend visited from out of town and we took her here. Great food. The mystic white pizza is truly wonderful. No meat, only a white sauce with cheese and greens. Yummy. I had the BLT, which I wasnt overly impressed with but was still good. Good service and nice atmosphere.

Pizza is so-so. Would be great for kids.

AVOID THE WRAPS!!!!!!! We ordered take out... A 16" pizza and a club wrap. The pizza was pretty good, but I couldn't even eat the club wrap. The tortilla wrap was so stale, I couldn't bite it off. I pulled a piece off the side and it was more crunchy than a chip. It almost wouldn't break in half. $30 for this meal and I feel like I was robbed! If you go here... Only get the pizza. It's the only thing worth eating here.

  • Lloyd R.

The pizza and the brownie dessert are good. I took the advice of all of the other reviewers and steered clear of anything else on the menu except for the pizzas. So the review isn't the most accurate, but it was the safest! Maybe it's the area, but wine margaritas are on the menu, and that's different to me, but I'm not from the region, so maybe I'm missing out on something amazing.

Can you give a review of ZERO stars? Too bad because that's what I give this. I've eaten here probably 4 times in 4 years, each time hoping things would improve: customer service? No. The food? No. Value? Nope. I called in to order a "Veggie-Lovers" and can't eat green peppers so asked if I could substitute something else instead. Spinach maybe? I was told no, unless I wanted to pay $1.79. The dang pizza was already $20 with tax and I just didn't want to pay any more. I asked if I could have ANY other ingredients as a substitute and was told they "cost too much." Really? How much can like 2 mushrooms or a tomato or a few leaves of spinach really cost? Just total crappy service and crappy pizza and sooooo not worth the money! Do yourself a favor and go to Domino's and ask for their Pacific Veggie pizza. 10x better and staff is soooo much nicer and professional! (I know Domino's sounds low-class but their veggie pizzas are really good!)

I have been to this pizzeria a few times. After ordering the veggie pizza minus onions multiple times and recieving onions everytime I stopped going.

Took relative from out of town here for lunch once. Not impressed with sandwitches, especially not for the price. A friend visiting from CA wanted pizza and beer so we went one evening. Pizza was good, as was the hefiwizen. Nice place to have that combo in the evening, even if too expensive.

  • Kelly M.

Love this place, as it's really the only place you can sit outside and have a beer or glass of wine. I love the pizza with white sauce, it's amazing. The salads are good too and green chili chicken pasta is one of my favorite things in the world. Our family does pizza night once a week and the kids prefer this pizza to anywhere else in town. Love it.

This place is amazing! Great food/service and we sitting on the outside patio. We go just about every day! Check out their Mexican food specials on Tuesday... They are amazing!!!

  • Autumn S.

The pizza was good because we were so hungry at the time. The crust was soggy, the veggies weren't done, and it was overpriced. Maybe we'll have a better experience one day...if we go back.

Pizza sauce and ham was flavourless.

  • Wayne M.

The pizza is fantastic! I recommend the Alfredo pizza with chicken, pepperoni, mushrooms, and tomatoes! You will not be disappointed. Also, they have Fat Tire Amber Ale!

  • Rob G.

Tuscan shrimp...bland and tasteless. Pizza was under cooked, although gluten free for the wife. We keep trying to support local establishments, but it is so difficult.

    (2)
  • Brandon P.

Our family like the personal pizzas here. I had the Alfredo pizza and added pepperoni, yummy. My wife enjoyed the "white pizza." Overall good experience and tasty food. Of note, they do have a bar and outdoor patio (obviously) as a seating option. We will likely eat here a lot.

  • Love U.

Pleasant ambiance, especially outside in the evening while enjoying a nice cold beer or a glass of wine. The white pizza is really good, very sublime and tasty. Salads are pretty average...I would not order as an entree but good as a starter. Lasagna never disappoints! My main gripe is that we went there twice and ordered the meat pizza, only to be told both times they were out of pepperoni and sausage...WTF? Other than that, we like Pizza Patio alot and will certainly go back.

  • Steve L.

Mediocre at best. Small group of four went there at around 3pm; we ate for $65... Ordered: chips and guac, which was decent but chips were unexciting. I ordered the grilled chicken ceasar, which wasn't too special- chicken seemed more boiled than grilled. She ordered a small Hawaiian pizza, which wasn't too bad; good crust, good amount of sauce, decent toppings. Too much cheese was the general consensus. Other couple ordered a calzone which was far too bready, smothered in cheese, and light on filling. Also ordered the chicken parm, which was inedible. All-in-all, nothing great. Service was poor as well, despite us being the only people in the restaurant. As much as I hate to say it, I'd go to Papa Johns instead.

  • P H.

I always enjoy going here for lunch. They have vegtarian options and staff is friendly. I think in the years I have been going here, I only had poor service once.

    (4)
  • Vanessa D.

The food was reasonably priced. I ordered the fiesta chicken sandwich and my husband ordered the Cesar salad which both were good. We went on a Friday evening and there was not a wait. It sure beat waiting at Chili's or Applebees. I will go back to Pizza Patio again.

  • Casey S.

Ate here once. The tea was not a brewed tea. The pizza was good until we got a mild case of food poisoning from it.....

  • Zinnia n.

friends and we were not even finished eating our dinner, did not yet order dessert or ordered another drink yet and were given our check/bill. They were mopping while we were finishing up our meals and drinks on a Friday night!! It was a little before 9 PM! Come on.. this is now how you earn business especially from people who are from other states here working, visiting, etc.. We had to wave down our waitress after waiting quite sometime for her to come back to order more items and she did not even come over. We had to walk over to request for service. Also, the food was mediocre, nothing amazing or original.

    (1)
  • Karen S.

Three stars because the food and service are variable. Salads are good, lasagna is awesome, but the sandwiches are mediocre. It is a popular place with some yummy specials. It is worth checking out more than once!
