It's all you can eat sushi. Quantity at the expense of quality. Just know this: P_sick = Q * p Probability of getting sick = (quantity of sushi eaten) x (probability each piece contains illness) The probability a piece contains an illness is probably increased by a factor of 100 over a normal place. But the kicker is that you probably also eat 10x more at sushi palace. That's a factor of 1000 times more likely you will get sick. If you're with a fun group of people, its worth it.

I am a big fan of sushi palace. All you can eat for $22 is a good deal for sushi (especially if you are like me and can put away 3-4 rolls), but there's a catch: you must pay for what you do not eat [yes, this is printed on the menu]. Perhaps others on this page did not realize that, but that is why they will not bring you the check until you eat all of your food.

Simply the best sushi around for the price,Newly expanded and quite efficient Sushi Palace is surprisingly good considering the All you can eat concept. No uni but everything else is fresh, well prepared, tasty and definitely worth the sometimes long wait on weekends. Order the spicy seaweed salad,Edison roll and pink lady. They seem a bit stingy with the pickled ginger so order extra from the get go or you'll have to ration your portion until you can slow down the young ladies long enough to order more. BYOB,settle in and enjoy.

Eater beware! Quality is way below par. Service is just okay. Price is not fair for the quality of food. Going back to the food. Sushi tastes awkward. It is not fresh. When you have 20 something year olds making your sushi you know it's not going to be good. This place is for cheap college students. If you make a living for yourself don't spend your hard earned cash here. In summary, bad fish made by kids is not called authentic sushi. It's called, "let's get below grade fish and serve it as all you can eat at a premium of a price and get away with it because people don't know better". Well know better and go elsewhere.

In terms of value, this place is a good deal. For $20, you can get AYCE sushi plus a whole lot of other stuff- tempura, shumai, other appetizers, sashimi, and on and on and on. Lots of places limit the AYCE menu but Sushi Palace offers a good selection of their speciality rolls along with regular sushi, sashimi, soup, appetizers, and tempura. You can even choose ice cream. Of course, with the value also come quality- you get what you pay for. The sushi won't make you weary about eating it or anything like that. It isn't bad quality, just not good quality. The eel on my Crunchy Eel Roll tasted pretty good with the sauce that was on it. It was average eel but it definitely was not bad. It was far better looking than the sushi you find at most asian/Chinese buffets (which I generally do not eat since I am afraid of bad sushi). Same went for the tuna, salmon sashimi, and other fish. Everything was okay- no major complaints but also nothing to write home about. I think they could have added a little sauce or something to some of the rolls. The Crunchy Eel roll was the only one with sauce and it was by far the best. Also, the rice was a little weird. Not sure why exactly but it was not typical sushi rice. This is a good spot if you are looking to eat a lot and want to try a bunch of different types of things. However if you just want sushi, there are probably better places in the area (I am not familiar with the area myself).

I've been coming to Sushi Palace for years now and I love the place. I really do. For the All You Can Eat for around $21 +tax/person, not that bad. The sashimi is always spectacular and fresh, the spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls are to die for when they have the right amount of spicy mayo. YUMMM! The calamari is amazing with their apricot sauce and their shrimp shumai is heaven in your mouth when they are served piping hot. Me and my friends love it here for food. But the service is mostly a miss whenever we come because the staff seem to rush you and get annoyed when you ask a simple question. Sometimes they even put things on your table that you didn't even order. But other than that the amount of money you spend on the all you can eat sushi is well worth it with the right people.

Order multiple spicy seaweed salads and lots of Edison rolls, you'll thank me later. Also it's BYOB, I recommend wine because beer is filling and the goal is to eat all the sushies... Yes, I'm aware sushi is already plural.. Well actually the word is uncountable which is rather fitting for an all you can eat sushi place. You will eat an uncountable amount of sushi!

This place is hit or miss. You either have a great meal or leave extremely disappointed. Their customer service could not be any lower. Their servers, could not possibly care any less. If the owner is there, you have a great meal. If the owner is not around, be prepared to be disappointed. I have been a long-time customer, and until this year I have never had an issue. This place has gone down the tubes recently. Tonight was the final straw, the tuna was metallic, warm and had a strong odor. I will not be returning, I highly recommend going somewhere else. Anywhere else...

I come here at least once a month. When they first opened, it used to be hit-or-miss with the sushi quality, but for the past 2 years, it's been excellent. It gets very busy here, especially on the weekends, so be prepared to wait both for a table and for your sushi. Their lunch specials are a fantastic deal as well (3 rolls + soup + salad for under $11, or 2 rolls for ~$7). Try their seaweed salads (the "spicy" seaweed salad has tempura flakes, crabmeat, and some extra seasoning but it's not actually spicy). Their tonkatsu (pork cutlet) and tempura are really good too.

I can't believe I have not reviewed this yet. I love sushi palace. This was the first sushi palace I went to many years ago and it will always be remembered. Just recently went a few weeks ago too. They recently expanded to be about twice as big as it used to be. As always, the value is great..a bit more than $20 for all you can eat hot foods and sushi. I always leave insanely full. There's plenty of selection of sushi and sashimi. Hot foods are great too! Anyone in the area must stop by here. You will not regret your decision. Only downside is that they are usually trying to get us to leave right after we order icecream (I'd suggest red bean or green tea) because there are always people waiting to be seated. However, we have a strategy of eating more after getting ice cream.

This is a popular spot among friends so I was excited to finally eat here. Unfortunately I got food poisoning from this place, which is surprising since I ordered soup, salad and veggie rolls -- no fish. Perhaps the chef did not wash hands after touching fish and then made my rolls, or it was something in the soup or salad. I would be very hesitant to eat here again. Gastroenteritis is not fun :-(

I have been to a few dozen sushi places in my mini-lifetime, and I have never been offered something called a peanut-avocado roll. My separate obsession with peanuts, and avocados were swirled into one- perfectly living up to my expectations. Before trying this roll, I'm not sure i could have accurately imagined how this concoction would taste, but trust me it is just divine. Compared to other sushi places, it is relatively average-to cheap in price range, but the quality is great. They also present the sushi very nicely in nice rows and shapes on a large sharing plate; you get something different with each new restaurant. Now, completely un-related to the food, their napkins are great. I'm just going to take a second to express my gratitude for the cotton-napkin blend with the printed rose on it. I am so tired of my soy-sauce bleeding through every flimsy paper morsel I am typically provided with. Kudos on the napkins my Sushi Palace friends. Lastly, I did not order the all-you-can-eat-sushi, but it runs about $23 dollars. Alike any other place, you need to eat all of your plate or they charge you for the roll- so eat up guys! Now $23 is pretty average. Anywhere in NYC starts at about $27. So really, $23 may be bit steep. But if you inhale sushi the way I know I can, and many others i know, then really it is all worth the price. xoxo, happy adventures Brit

$21 for AYCE sushi on the weekdays - $23 on the weekends. I was really impressed that this included appetizers, sushi/sashimi, as well as regular AND special rolls. So definitely a lot more variety than your garden variety AYCE place. Plus the fish is pretty tasty, and the special rolls are legitimately impressive. In general, remember not to fill yourself up on rice and/or other types of starches, and you should be fine. I have found that ordering sushi and sashimi in a 1 to 1 ratio provides me enough rice to enjoy both pieces of fish on an adequate, but not overwhelming, amount of rice.

If you like sushi, and have a lot of friends who also like sushi, this is the place for you. Great-tasting sushi as well as their other dishes. My only gripe with this place is if you get the all-you can-eat, they'll "forget" to include some of your order. It's not that big a deal, since you can always order more, but it's a minor annoyance. Further, make sure you eat everything you order, otherwise they'll charge you a little extra.

For starters, the wait staff is terribly rude. Once the sushi arrived, you can tell just by looking at it that it is not fresh fish. Tasted suspect. We did the lunch all you can eat order, and had 3 pieces of sushi left on our plates and were completely stuffed. The waitress rudely informed us (almost screamed) that if we did not clean the plate we had to pay extra. Seriously? Who wants to gorge themselves to the point of feeling sick? Will never return.

Definitely not one of my favorite sushi restaurants. The service was not very good. I asked for water or tea 3 times and I was never served. The white tuna was tasteless and the spicy tuna had no spicy flavor to it. Based on the reviews, the quality is very hit and miss.

AMAZING BYOB!!!!!!! This is not just the best sushi "buffet" but the best sushi I have had. Let me explain how this place works.... They do have a menu you can order from, BUT the best value is their once price ACYE menu. I have turned so many people onto this place. I organize outings with co-workers to go and people are always asking when the next trip is. They even get mad if it is a night they can't make. Let me break my review down. Service: Excellent Every staff member is there to help you. No-one says let me get your waitress. They all bring your food, take your orders, fill you drinks. There may the occasional "let me get an english speaking person" if you are asking for something they don't understand. Space: Poor The place is small and crowded. They take reservations but it doesn't do much. I still always place them because they will put a table together for you, but if it is the only table and someone comes before you, they will give it away. After 6:30pm it starts to fill up. After 7pm expect to wait. The larger your group, the longer the wait. Food: Most amazing ever! Nothing compares... My work cafeteria provides fresh-made sushi twice a week and I refuse to get it. I have been ruined by Sushi Palace. On the AYCE menu you have choices from, sushi (sashimi, sushi, hand rolls, specialty rolls), Salads, Appetizers, Soup, Fried (tempura/katsu), Udon, teriyakki, dessert. My favorites are the following salad(kani and spicy seaweed mixed together), egg custard and crab sashimi, Edison specialty roll (shrimp tempura and spicy tuna wrapped and covered with spicy crab 9the most amazing roll ever), Butterfly roll (Soybean paper, lobster, mango, crunchy, avocado with sweet mango sauce), all tempuras, apps - bbq squid and crispy calamari. desert - choc and vanilla ice cream (Do not get the green tea, it has a fishy after taste, the red bean is alright but not my choice). Don't: - Don't get the hot tea (it seems like just hot water) - Don't get Green Tea Ice Cream (fishy after taste) - Don't show up after 7pm if you don't want to wait - Don't order to much, your eyes are always bigger then your stomach, and they may charge you extra if you waste a lot. - Don't just order a california roll, be adventurous. Try something new. - Don't eat a big lunch/breakfast before you go for dinner/lunch. Do: - Do go with a group, it is better for trying things if you have 6 people all willing to try a new item, like an eel roll. - Do designate time for a nap once you get home. - Do be prepared to nto want sushi from anywhere else, every again.

Decent, if not mind-blowing. We order lunch takeout from here-- it's usually solid, even if they often confuse our order. All you can eat is pretty typical... acceptable sushi, borderline acceptable service. BYO is nice.

Went to sushi palace with a group of friends and had a horrible experience. Put in an order and only half of it came out. We asked where the rest of it was and they assured us it was coming. After an hour and a half and asking 4 different waitresses where our food was we still didn't have food. We spoke to the manager who assured us our food was coming - and a minute later a waitress came over to ask if we were waiting for something. YES, OUR FOOD! 2 hours and 50$ later my boyfriend and I left and got chinese food next store. Would never go back.

There's not a lot to dislike about all-you-can-eat sushi, but ayce sushi that's actually GOOD? A rare find indeed! My buddy suggested this place for dinner while I was in the area, and after reading your reviews (thanks agian, yelpers!), I just had to give it a try. That, and I love sushi... and ayce... I had the same fears most folks probably did, that for only $20 ($22 on Friday/Saturday night), the quality would suffer drastically. I was happy to see that was not the case, though. Is this the best sushi I've ever had? No. But you know what? It's not far from it. For the price, it is definitely a bargain. One thing I should definitely reiterate from other reviews, this place is crowded! Call ahead for a reservation, or just make plans to wait for a table. The joint is BYOB, so that might help make the waiting more enjoyable. Also, the service is nothing to write home about, but give them credit: they are fast on the orders for the size of the restaurant, the quantity of sushi and other items going out, and the speed with which they have to turn over tables to accommodate the crowd. I will make allowances for them not always (or ever) being in a chipper mood. The sushi is well worth the wait, though. Obviously, there is no question about the quantity. The quality is surprisingly above average, though, but you might notice some exceptions here and there. I have yet to have fish that was of sub-standard quality, however, which is always a plus. Avocado, well... you take your chances with the seasons anyway. The mango sauce on the butterfly roll was truly a surprise, though, and had a decidedly bright and exotic flavor. It tasted much more like mango than most mango sauces! Overall, this was well worth the money spent, and if you leave hungry, then you wanted to leave hungry. I would definitely return to this place again (as if the two times in two weeks wasn't enough). The service is definitely not industry-leading, the wait can be tedious, but the quality and quantity for the price is hard to match. Sushi Palace is definitely a high-value experience!

A lot of my college friends raved about this place, saying that it was all you can eat at a pretty fair price. Naturally, I took their suggestions and decided to check it out for myself. I was thoroughly disappointed. The service at Sushi Palace makes the service at McDonalds look professional. Me and one of my friends asked about the menu, since it was our first time eating here. Our waiter couldn't help us, since she knew next to no English. She didn't bother to try and get someone else to help us-she just ignored us! After figuring it out ourselves and ordering, our food took FOREVER to arrive. When it did, it was presented in a lackadaisical manner. For a few strips of Chicken Katsu, (yes, only a few) it looked like they were thrown on the plate with the least amount of care possible. The sushi was fine, although nothing spectacular. This was a let down, considering how long we waited. If you like quantity over quality, this place might be for you. However, I can say that I won't be coming back.

I was recommended this restaurant by many of my college friends so I figured it was time to let go of my sushi ego and check it out. As a college student, hearing, "all you can eat" is nothing but music to my ears. Lets be honest, you are not coming to this place to have a thoroughly self indulgent sushi experience. Its for those of us who love sushi, yet, can't afford to drop over a hundred dollars on an "authentic" establishment who gets there fish directly from tsukiji market. We arrived on a Friday evening and it was very crowded. As expected, the decor was a bit cheesy but I was there to eat, not evaluate the interior. Once we were seated, we were handed two check lists. One lets you select the appetizers/side dishes while the other lets you pick out your sushi. After selecting what seemed like everything on the menu, we placed our order. When the food arrived they made a couple of mistakes; however, we let it slide as we were all very hungry. The yellow tail and mackerel were quite good and it was great to know that we could order as much of it as we wanted. The udon noodles were also surprisingly delicious although they took my dish away without giving me a chance to finish my soup. I generally stay away from sashimi at all you can eat restaurants; however, we ordered the salmon and it wasn't as bad as I thought. After an hour of non stop eating, we ended our meal with green tea and red bean ice cream which was pretty good even though the red bean was artificial. I entered this restaurant with moderate expectations and left getting exactly what I expected. The food was generally good, the service was mediocre, and the atmosphere was great. I would recommend this place to anyone who is hungry, loves sushi, and wants to BYOB. Oh yea, and make sure you finish all your food, otherwise they charge you extra. Cheers.

My favorite place to get all you can eat sushi! The sushi/sashimi is fresh, and the kitchen food is all delicious! Conveniently, you can order by marking what you want (and how much) on small paper menus. For about $21 you can't go wrong. Just come hungry. The only downside is that you should always expect a wait, even with a reservation.

Amazing all-you-can eat sushi. Byob is a plus. Service is meh. Make sure you get there early or you might end up waiting awhile-- but it's worth the wait.

Ah, sushi palace. If you are in the mood for copious amounts of sushi, awesome appetizers, and japanese ice cream, then you've come to the right place. The butterfly roll is absolutely delicious; as is the spicy seaweed salad, gyoza, and green tea ice cream. The buffet deal - I believe it's 21$ - is fantastic (just be prepared to eat your money's worth). My only complaints are: 1) There has been times I've gone there when it wasn't totally fresh -- normally it is, but on a few (very few) occasions, I've had some fishy pieces. and 2) The staff is often pretty rude. I understand that they need to do a quick turnover so that people don't go too crazy with their buffet deal, but getting rushed out of the place seems to be a constant part of the Sushi Palace experience. They recently added a lot of seating, so maybe the staff can take it a little easier now that the place has more room to accommodate the dinner crowd it constantly draws in.

I had never been to Sushi Palace before today and only went because my boss offered to buy lunch for all the employees, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. All but one of us went with the all you can eat sushi meal--for just $20 a person, which is awesome for sushi. There was something like 6 different appetizers between the lot of us, and everything was delicious (seaweed salad; gyoza; teriyaki chicken; crab, shrimp, and sweet potato tempura). I honestly cannot remember all the different kinds of sushi that we ordered, but the Philadelphia, Spicy Tuna, and Dragon rolls were all phenomenal. The service was quick and efficient, there when we needed them and scarce when we didn't, so not complaints there. The style and décor of the room reminded of something like a high-end cafeteria, but that kind of stuff could not matter less to me. Sushi Palace has great service and even better food for unheard of prices, as far as I am concerned. I would highly recommend this place and look forward to the next time my boss is buying lunch.

Sushi palace, you've made my day once again. Although it's true that I'll need to loosen my belt a little bit after the all you can eat sushi, I'm not one to complain about stuffing myself with seafoody goodness. For a little less than $20 you get all you can eat sushi, soup, appetizers, dessert, whatever your little heart desires. The service is unbeatable. I came with a large group and we had to have ordered 20 rolls, not including the soups and apps. The soups were out in about 2 minutes, the apps soon after, and all 20 rolls were there to great us in maybe 10 to 15 minutes. WHAT!? Ate until I felt sick and I loved every second of it. The whole place is super accommodating and has a room specifically for larger groups. The decor is appropriate and there is ample parking. The place is about 3 minutes off of Rt. 1 South so it's very easy to get to. Pro Tip: Try the fried calamari, just thinking about it makes my tummy rumble. Ohhhh and the Spicy Seaweed Salad oidfua09wuf[9aouf AHHHH i want more!

First of all, it's amazing for the price. I'm a big eater so whenever I go, I eat triple the amount I paid (I think). If you go during lunch or on the weekday then it's even more affordable! Next, there is a very tasty and pretty thorough menu of sushis and sushimis to choose from. Their eel rolls are my favorite. Their non-conventional menu items are also interesting. However, the service and decor are seriously lacking. And it doesn't help that the location is super inconvenient.

USED to be my favorite sushi place. I went the other day. Service was poor with rude staff, but I thought it wasn't a big deal, I'm here for the food anyway. Well, until I waited an hour for my food in a half-empty and fully-staffed restaurant. I watched other people who came in before me get served, while every waitress literally ignored me as I tried to ask where my food was (I ordered the same amount as people around me, and didnt order anything extravagant that would require that amount of time). When the food did come, the waitress told us that they were closing soon, so to hurry up. I wouldn't have to do this if I had my food in a reasonable amount of time. Hurrying, when my friend and I left two pieces of sushi on the plate, the waitress refused to take it, saying "Finish it up!" Which confused me, you told me to leave because it was closing. I wish my story ended there. My friend felt sick not too long after our meal, and I then followed the next day with symptoms of food poisoning. So, I waited excessively long and got rushed through my meal, to be rudely told that I didn't eat enough fast enough, and pay $22 for a lunch, just to get food poisoning from bad fish? Unfortunate that this great place has gone down hill. If you should go here, expect rudeness and stay safe and stay away from the sushi, order chicken or something.

Food: Excellent food for the price. It would be awesome if they'd include brown rice. You can ask them to prepare sushi with little rice Ambiance: Cafeteria style, but nicer than a hole in the wall buffet. One of the only sushi places I've ever been to that actually plays Japanese music! Price: Fantastic for all you can eat...not to mention, my favorite part of the entire experience :) Bon Apetit!

I have been coming here for years- it was the gem of all you can eat sushi places in a very quiet location, totally unexpected. It is small (although they have recently expanded) but is good for groups and is BYOB. 20$ gets each person all-you-can-eat from both the sushi menu, which has delicious specialty rolls, and the kitchen menu, salads, soups, entrees. Service was always decent, and we never waited too long for our food. You can order as many times as you like. However, on my most recent dining experience here, we noticed that the quality has significantly declined since they have expanded this location. Previously, it was delicious and high quality, not like you would expect from an all-you-can-eat. We were disappointed in the change in quality and taste, considering we had been so many times before. Overall- it is a great deal, BYOB, and the sushi is not absolutely terrible- just not as good as it used to be. I will probably come back and try it again, but it may be time to look for a new all-you-can-eat.

Miso Soup's decent. Appetizer salad's decent. But everything else? Blah.. I ordered the Sashimi lunch ($13?). The raw fish was totally unfresh and when your raw fish is not fresh, the smell gets funny and the texture gets funny. By the time I got to the 3rd piece, I wanted to throw up. Co-workers commented the sushi was not that great either. The Dimsum you get with the bento box is a joke. It was probably 80% flour and 15% meat and 5% flavorings? I will never go again. If you want better Sushi, go to East Asian Fusion in Plainsboro (also great Chinese food) or Ajihei in Princeton (truely authentic sushi).

All you can eat sushi for 20 bucks?! Umm yes please! I adore this place and it's especially good for people like me who can never commit to just a few types of rolls. Come with a large group because it's best when you can order a lot at once. Just don't go expecting a fine dining experience. Service is not great. Last time I went they mixed up our order with another table who was already eating it so we had to wait for them to make more. However, other times I've been here the sushi came out really quickly. Also I wouldn't bother ordering from the menu. It's slow and their kitchen food is subpar. Just focus on the unlimited sushi it's what they're known for after all. My favorites are the Summer Roll and the Sweet Potato Roll (who knew?)

When labelled as a buffet, I was expecting self-serve tables of food. Here you write what you want to place an order. On a busy Saturday night this is a lengthy process. Plus if you order something and don't like it, you get charged for it, as the table next to us found out. Overall food was good and well presented. Four times food destined for other tables came to ours - not very organized. Otherwise service was pleasant. Not worth the aggravation for a buffet.

Great quality sushi and it's ALL YOU CAN EAT! Started off with the spicy seaweed salad and shrimp tempura. Even though it's a salad, it's still very good with tempura flakes in it. We stick with just ordering sushi, but the all you can eat also included entree dishes. The portion for sashimi can be a little small, but you can just order more. The Edison roll and Yummy roll were our favorite - we ended up ordering them again the second time. The place was PACKED. There was a little wait getting a table since we had a party of 7. Even though the place was very busy, the staff was very attentive. Refills on water and tea was done regularly. They even offered the menu to us again without being asked after seeing that we depleted our two huge plates of sushi. We were encouraged to order more without feeling super gluttonous (however, we sure felt it after the meal). I guess the thing to emphasize is that even though it's All You Can Eat sushi restaurant, the quality is still very good with a lot of variety. Too bad I don't live close by... it's a great place for extreme sushi cravings.

This is one of our favorite weekend restaurants. Food is above average. One price all you can eat. It is not expensive. You can bring your own wine. The thing I like the best is that they have many choices for appetizer, soup, salad, entry and desert. If you order too much, you can bring home with very reasonable price.

I have been coming here often enough to notice there has been a change of tactics here. Their service was extremely slow despite of very few customers. I think it is purposely done to control the amount the customers consume. We only had two rounds of food within the long three hours. Other people were also complaining about the slow service but they didn't seem to care. So if you want ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI, this is not the right place.

When we first started coming here a couple of years ago, we were very pleased with the service and the food. Today was our first time since March of this year and it was quite a disappointment. The sashimi was cut too thickly, and it seems that cheaper fish is being used than before, and the rolls were not prepared with the usual care and fineness that we were previously used to. The waitressess, who were all new faces to us, weren't as friendly and as quick as the previous staff, and to top it all off, we didn't finish the gross tasting sashimi and about 3 pieces of a roll that wasn't up to the usual standards, one of the waitress had the audacity to count the pieces as if preparing to charge us extra for not eating them. When she began to point out that we didn't finish what we ordered, I began a detailed explanation as to why we didn't finish everything, she quickly ended that conversation and brought me the bill with no additional charges. I'm sad to say they have gone down and we will not be returning here ever again. (And we were faithful once a month customers).

I get much better sushi than this in Des Moines. Waitress couldn't speak English. All she could do was push their all-you-can-eat deal. Big mistake going for that. Tempura tasted like stale oil. Sushi was dry and fishy-tasting. (Yes, I know it's fish.) Maybe this would be good for a ravenous college student, but it wasn't for me.

All you can eat sushi at a very reasonable price. Good service and often crowded. Caught the stomach virus probably due to a sashimi I ate that friends did not. This ends my desire for sushi at bargain prices.

Amazing, amazing place. All you can eat for $20 and byob. During dinner times, I recommend making reservations before hand, or be prepared to wait for 20-30 minutes. Everything on the menu is delicious, from the rolls to the hot food.

This place is my go to spot for sushi, hands down. My family goes here almost every time we feel like eating out, which is basically every weekend. I can never get tired of this place. It's getting to the point where the waitresses know who my family is, that's how much we go there. Every time I hear my friends crave sushi, I bring them here. It's that good. The fact that it's a little over $20 for all you can eat sushi is an amazing deal and being a college student, you just have to enjoy that price, especially knowing what other places charge for just 6-8 pieces of sushi alone. I know other sushi buffets charge close to $30-$40 for one person so this place is a gem. In terms of quality, it's really up in the air. I don't like it when people feel like they know how to judge the quality of sushi. Sushi is sushi and it tastes how it tastes depending on how bad you crave it at the moment. In my honest opinion, the quality is above average, but then again, anytime I crave sushi, I always think the current sushi I'm eating is amazing. Don't listen to these other reviews about quality because at the end of the day, we're basically eating raw fish so determining which raw fish tastes the best is ridiculous. My personal favorite is the Edison roll. It's the first thing I order off the all you can eat menu. I recommend it to anyone new to the place. It's basically a shrimp tempura roll with spicy salmon and spicy mayo on top. It's just a great sushi roll with a little zesty kick to it. I also am addicted to their spicy seaweed salad, even though they put imitation crab in it, it's just too addicting not to eat. I never ate seaweed before I had their spicy seaweed salad so you can believe it's pretty good. Overall, the selections are more than enough for you to choose from and those specialty rolls are great. Anyone who orders off the actual menu is dumb. Don't do it when there is all you can eat sushi available. I think the ice cream there is super underrated. I don't know if it's handmade ice cream or some type of ice cream purchased at a local Asian market but I have never tasted ice cream that creamy and light at the same time anywhere in my entire life. I always order two bowls (scoops) of vanilla, it's just too good. If anyone can clarify on the ice cream situation there, lemme know. Atmosphere is good. The waitresses do their best in a very crowded restaurant, I always tip them well just because I know how crazy the place sometimes gets. For the most part, they do their best to make all the customers happy.

My wife and I are generally fans of this place. It gets crowded fast so try to get there at the beginning of a meal (1130 instead of 12).. my one point of annoyance is service.. this is one of those places that takes orders via little menus that you fill out while a waiter/waitress isn't on top of you.. actually, another annoying point is that if you are the type to order a lot at a time, this place has a tendency of paring down your order - if you order 6 rolls, they'll only bring 5 of them.. i'm not sure if it's to make it easier for them, but i notice, and it's annoying.. .. however, they do make up for it in volume, and you can't beat all-you-can-eat, freshly-made sushi..

So far, this is the best all-u-can-eat sushi place I have been to. Unlike a lame buffet, each sushi roll is made to order. I love that. While the sushi is certainly not the best I've ever had, it is well worth the price. On top of that, the cooked food is pretty good too. The Tempura shrimp and chicken are very good, and again, it's all you can eat. The dish that I particularly find amazing here is the Spicy Seaweed Salad. This is unlike any I've had anywhere else. The seaweed is topped with shredded crab, and either Tempura flakes, or Panko flakes...whatever...it is amazing. Again...you can order as many of these as you want. I could go there and eat only that and leave happy (and healthy). The only negative I can say about the place is...it's TINY. And CROWDED. You should not act surprised if someone sitting at another table is accidentally grabbing some of your white tuna pieces. Ok, it's not THAT bad, but I think I deduct one star for this reason. I wish this place was bigger. Other than that, you ABSOLUTELY CANNOT go wrong eating here. Well worth your money...if you like sushi, Tempura, or Terriyaki, this is a great place to go.

This place is fantastic! They give you a lot of sushi for the all you can eat (around $25, including tip) and the service is quick. It's hard to figure out what to order at first since they give you fill out menus with just the names of sushi and lines to write the number you want, so unless you have a good amount of knowledge of sushi, I suggest you bring an iPhone to Google! Recommend: Spicy Seaweed Salad (Five Stars!!!) There's the regular seaweed salad which isn't NEARLY as good. The spicy one isn't even as spicy. I get it every time. Miso Soup. They're miso soup is definitely a good beginner to get you ready for the rest of the meal, but be careful! Don't order too many appetizers since the main star of the place is the sushi. Soft Shell Crab "Special Roll" and the Edison "Special Roll" Definitely also get the ice cream, the green tea and red bean are the most popular (you can get chocolate everywhere, try something new!) I always get the green tea, it's really good. I suggest you try a little bit of everything, they have a nice variety and pretty flexible portions since you order by the number. The place gets crowded really quickly and there are often large groups around peak hours. Make a reservation so you can avoid the wait!

Honestly not worth it. Everyone who raved about this place- no clue what real sushi and fresh sashimi is all about. Sorry u guys, I wouldn't recommend ... Sushi buffet is tasteless and the special rolls I ordered were not made the way I explained. I hate paying for something not made to the way I like it.

Well Just ate at Sushi Palace. Went with a group of 15 and had reservations. Well we didnt get seated until 40 mins after our reservation but I assume it's because this place gets crazy packed and there was another large party before us. For $22 on unlimited sushi, it was pretty good! They have a good variety to pick from on the special burgeon menu. The only complaint is that the spicy mayo; not spicy at all. But everything was a good experience. Would def come here again when craving unlimited sushi. Also, the place is very casual and a bit small - typical sushi shop. :)

Coming here for a few times. The smallest group I ever came with was 3, and the largest was 8. It's spacious enough, but if you don't beat the dinner rush, you might not get in at all. The price is okay for the sushi quality and the rate it comes out. You can expect about 3 servings before the place closes if you write your orders down before your previous round is finished. Besides sushi items, there are some kitchen items that are included with your AYCE experience, but come on, we all came for the sushi. There are some items to stay away from if you wish to survive a lengthy AYCE experience. Avoid the White Tuna (Escolar). FDA recommends eating less than 6oz within a 24 hour period, since this fish contains oils that act as a laxative. Well, it's still a fish that I prize, though I do often suffer from it's effects. The miso soup is a liquid that expands the rice in your stomach, and salt amounts makes you thirstier. Overall, this place is, "A-Ok," if you know how to get your money's worth at an AYCE joint.

I love sushi and it is fresh here. Make sure you start slow as they have a policy against wasting food. Reasonable, delicious, and newly expanded.

  • Adam H.

The sushi here is decent but the service is very poor. We did not get half of the things that we ordered and the waitresses were very rude towards us when we wanted to order more. Some of the servers also did not speak English well so when we had trouble and did not receive all of our food our server was unable to assist us. Overall very poor experience and I will not be back to this location!

  • Ally K.

Don't expect great service here. DO expect a hugely varied menu filled with delicious food... and for great prices! I used to get fed up waiting for a table at Sushi Palace but since they expanded (literally doubled the size of their restaurant), it's never been an issue. The atmosphere here is upbeat and loud, with customers ranging from church groups to sports teams, families with children, people meeting up with their friends or young couples on a date. I definitely prefer the made- to- order buffet as opposed to an open- style buffet (Ichiumi, Fuji, etc). Maybe it's me, but I just don't like the idea of other people touching my food. That and I don't want a piece of salmon that's been sitting out for half an hour. Overall, Sushi Palace is an awesome dining experience and will be one of the places I miss most once I move.

Male host Disrespectful and You will regret to go there. Fish is not fresh and Waste of money. I do not understand why this place called palace. It has no royal services and the food quality are so low that you can get anywhere else. What you pay and what you get. Such a cheap place and don't waste your time to go there.

  • Taryn C.

ZOMG. This place is AWESOME!! It's an all-you-can-eat sushi and "kitchen" items (salads, soups, teriyaki). It's only like $18.95 a head - their tag line is to Order All You Can Eat, But Eat All that You Order. They're not into waste, and obviously no take home. Their sushi rolls are outstanding - their butterfly roll is a mango roll with a sweet chili sauce. NOM. Great "dessert" roll. Anything spicy tuna, spicy salmon, all nomtastic. Points deducted because my husband doesn't eat sushi. He ordered chicken teriyaki, he said it wasn't very good. Sigh. It's a BYOB, but they also give tea as complimentary. Fantastic, whenever I visit my friends who live in the area, we always try to get out here!

    (4)
  • Tanya G.

Fast before you come here. Its around $20 a head for unlimited made-to-order sushi and appetizers. Paired with the BYOB factor, this place is a really awesome deal for a gluttonous feast. Once you battle your way through the crowded waiting area and flag down a hostess, you are seated within cramped vicinities and handed two pieces of paper and a pen. One piece of paper is hot and cold appetizers, along the likes of soup, salad, dim sum, and tempura. The second piece of paper is your sushi/sashimi selections. Next to each item that your table wants, you write the quantity you want to order. You turn in your papers to your waitress, and within minutes, your first courses come piping hot from the kitchen. Before you even finish your first round of food, you are provided with a fresh set of order paper for round two, three, four, etc. Frankly, my friends and I have never made in past round two. NOTE: The servers aren't here to provide you with exceptional personalities...they are here to pump out orders and turn tables. They don't speak English because it's unnecessary...the paper orders do the talking. Orders are always executed quickly and accurately, although they will occasionally downsize your order if they think you ordered too much. The food is always fresh, and the fact the sushi is made-to-order makes this spot eight million times better than buffet-style sushi joints. My top two rolls: Yummy Roll: Eel, mango, and avocado inside, spicy crunchy tuna outside. So so good, this roll has inspired my obsession with tuna-mango rolls. Edison Roll: Shrimp tempura and spicy tuna inside, spicy crab outside. So its basically tuna and fat with shrimp fried in fat topped with crab and fat. But hey, fat makes food taste good. Sushi Palace cravings are lethal. Once you get one, it hangs over your head for however many days/weeks/months it is until you actually go. You finally get there, stuff yourself silly, leave with a killer stomach ache, and swear off Sushi Palace for the rest of your life. Then, the cravings come back. A destructive cycle. A beautiful, delicious, destructive cycle.

Hands down, the all you can eat option is the best value for your money. The quality and selection is great (appetizers/sushi/sashimi/hand rool/special rolls). The only negative is the wait. They sometimes follow the reservation system, but be prepared to wait if you go anytime between 5:30-8:30. Recommend: Spicy Seaweed Salad

  • Wendy W.

best sushi buffet ever!! and for one main reason... the sushi are made to order! if you opt for the buffet, you get 2 menus: a sushi menu and a hot food menu. you start checking stuff off, hand it to the server, and voila, a giant plate of sushi arrives made just for you. when you're done, you check off another set of menus and hand it to the server. each order (whether sushi or hot food) is small, and for obvious reasons...to prevent waste. if you want more, just order more. they offer sushi, sashimi, handrolls, soups, salads, tempura, teriyaki, appetizers, and ice cream. i highly recommend the white tuna sashimi and the spicy seaweed salad. i also recommend mixing the red bean ice cream with green tea ice cream (trust me!) and i don't mean blend together like a milk shake, but eat concurrently. now the bad, selection is limited, the place is tiny, sushi is slightly better than buffet quality, and the servers all appear frazzled and over-worked. oh, and the fruit plate is an orange (not really a bad thing but i was expecting a plate of watermelon, guava, and lycee for some unknown reason). i suggest making reservations a few hours ahead, as the place can fill up quickly. overall, it's a buffet. don't expect anything more glamorous than a buffet. but if you love sushi, all-you-can-eat for $20 is a steal!

Returned again on a Friday night bro-date for the all-you-can-eat dinner. Arrived at 5:20pm; only a few tables were taken but the hostess/waitress tried to seat me (tiny guy) and my friend (6'5 and jacked) at a small catty corned table near the cash register. We declined this idiotic seating arrangement and sat at a different table. We ordered a plethora of their sushi and kitchen offerings. Of note: soft shell crab roll (good portion of soft shell crab) tempura shrimp - big shrimp Dragon roll - eel was just right! Red california roll (had some pickled veg inside; very good!) Gyoza, crispy calamari (nice and crispy without being rubbery or oily), tempura vegetables (crispy but not oily) Avoid: Lumpia - some kind of spring roll. Not worth eating. Teriyaki chicken - nothing special. I found all the fish to be of good quality (no fishy taste or aroma, no sliminess, no strange film) and well prepared (thickness, fish/rice ratio). Best 20.95 I've spent on food in quite some time. Amazing value - ordering even half of what we ate a la carte would've cost a fortune. So, why only 3 stars if I loved all the food and it's a great value? The service is atrocious. Communication with the staff is borderline impossible. The table they tried to sit us at was a joke. At times our glasses stayed empty too long. The only time anyone paid attention to us was getting our check...and then standing next to our table and staring at us until we got up to leave. C S (a prolific and great reviewer) went here on a Sunday and based on her experience I'd say that Sushi Palace doesn't have a great relationship with their supplier. Sunday = no delivery = bad fish. Combine that with their usual crap service and you get one star. TL;DR - 1. Be prepared for terrible service. 2. Don't go on a Saturday or Sunday. 3. All you can eat is the way to go.

    (3)
  • Matt K.

All you can eat sushi. And tempura. And appetizers. And teriyaki. And you probably get the point. For $20, order the all you can eat menu. They'll leave ordering slips at your table, and you mark down what you want. The ruthlessly efficient wait staff the spirits these off to the kitchen. Sometimes they get lost on the way to said kitchen (or at least you are told that, fill out a second slip, and receive twice as much food). But when your food does emerge, more often than not, it's delicious. Sometimes, yes the sushi has far too much rice. I guess it's a function of catching the right sushi chef. But they have a creative abundance of rolls, the fish is pretty fresh and tasty, and the price is right for the amount of food you get. Finish off with a bowl of ice cream - vanilla, chocolate, red bean, or green tea - and you'll go home happy. Stuffed, but happy.

Okay, I got sick from here last time but I assumed it's because I have a weak stomach and ice cream after sushi was not a good idea... so I went again. We were a party of 9 and all of us were required to order the unlimited buffet. A few notable things.. -Kani salad: some kani, cucumber, and tempura flakes. I really liked this salad because it was warm, but light. -Lumpia: mushy on the inside, crispy on the outside. It wasn't my favorite thing, but it was pretty good. -Tofu teriyaki: glazed in a thick teriyaki sauce, generous proportions.. -Hand rolls: spicy tuna and sweet potato.. lots of tuna in the spicy tuna and the sweet potato roll was huge! -Special rolls: soft shell crab, shrimp tempura, edison roll, crunchy eel...the edison roll was so good. probably my favorite now despite it's random combination. -The "fresh fruit" was just orange chunks inside of a bowl made out of the orange haha. I wasn't a big fan of the salmon sashimi. It was a little too chewy for me and didn't really have that "melt in your mouth" effect. The squid sashimi was good however. It was cut thin, which made it easier to consume. I was also a happy camper after eating the eel sashimi. Since I couldn't get my unagi don, this was as close as I got :P I'm pleased by Sushi Palace's variety of items and the portions that they provide. I'm always full afterwards and the service is pretty good. It gets pretty packed on weekends so try to make a reservation if necessary.

The sushi, sashimi, handrolls, etc are very fresh and extremely tasty. The service is excellent even when the place is really crowded and busy. The place was completely full but we waited 7 minutes before being seated. I found that if we were polite and not demanding of immediate attention, they were friendly as well as efficient. Dishes came out quickly and correctly. There were six of us and we had an enjoyable and delicious dinner. I will definitely come back and bring friends. Some of our favorites are white tuna, salmon, yellowtail, dragon and yummy rolls, and shrimp tempura. You can also bring your own wine.

If I can give ZERO STAR, THIS IS THE PLACE! Service was terrible. I wasn't being seated because i was only waiting for my husband with my three years old son. However, I saw a table with a couple sitting who were waiting for two people. And, I couldn't been seated and stood there more than 10 minutes waiting and this guy took the four guests to the empty table who just came in. And my little son and I were still waiting. I went to ask him and he said, " I cannot seat you because you're still waiting for the other person." I told him there is a table with a couple who are waiting for the other two people and they can be seated." He COULD NOT say anything back to me. Well, I left and will NEVER return! Be honest, this is a cheap place to eat and that's why we have been there many times. But think about this, they don't serve a good quality of fish. Sometimes, the sashimi is not fresh enough being serve as a sashimi. I'm thinking.......where does the fish come from? Why can they charge so little money compared with the other Japanese restaurants? Well......we went to the other Japanese restaurant that evening that is not all you can eat style restaurant. Service is great. Food is great. Of course, price cannot beat sushi palace, but we all were very HAPPY there! NEVER EVER Sushi Palace XXXXXXXXXX.

Mixed take away from my experience here. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. I had to ask what the AYCE was all about. A deal like that struck my value cords so I opted in. Sadly the rolls were ok. not bad, but "ok". the Sashimi was excellent. I dont expect to be in the area again soon, but I'd be willing to give it another shot based on the service, but I'd have to be more on top of what I order.

Let's not kid ourselves. One comes here to FILL UP on sushi. They're great with the things that matter most to me. Service: fast. They're not all rainbows and sunbeams, but they fulfill requests quickly and keep your drinks full. Despite the complaints on Yelp, my server was great tonight. She wasn't rude, but instead attentive and fast. Look for the girl with the eyelashes--you'll know what I mean. Sushi: far above average for the offerings of the area, looks great, not stuffed with a ton of rice, and with proper portions of fish/veg/whatever's on your order. Kitchen: fast. It felt like we waited 10-15 minutes for our 7-8 rolls. I think some of us forget that this place is in a mini mall, in New Jersey, where some of the rudest people on the planet live. It's a cramped space, and a full room with a full waiting area can get intense. Given the context of the place, I don't need service with a smile (even though my server tonight was great). I'll take a precise, quick server over a charming, slow one any day.

Our last couple of experiences all of the sushi tasted the same and it felt crowded and rushed even with the expansion. No longer our go to AYCE.

From the first time my friend brought me here I fell in love. All you can eat and it has a great variety of sushi to choose from. As many other reviewers have said, the spicy seaweed salad is amazing along with the edison roll and pretty much anything else on the menu. For whatever reason, I find that their salmon is always one of my favorites. I get stacks of salmon sashimi and nigiri. From the first piece of sushi, you spend the whole meal ooooh'ing and aaaah'ing about how delicious it is. Plus the ability to sit at the sushi bar and watch the chefs work plus BYOB makes this one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Sometimes it will take time to get your food, but they try to move fast and the staff is pretty responsive. Especially after the expansion, things are a bit slower-moving and even after a dollar price-hike, I still find myself religiously coming here and loving it everytime.

Simply the best sushi buffet in the area. Go here on an empty stomach and prepare to enjoy ourself during the extravaganza and moan in bliss after. I can't believe how much I ate, dear lord.... Need a die I have gone to several sushi buffets and each always has something unique. I think it's great that you check off a quantity for the different items you want from their kitchen (hot and cold) and sushi paper menus. A ensured fresh and personalized buffet that comes to you, MAGIC! They had a great selection for the Saturday night of Easter weekend. It might be $22 a person on weekends but it is SOOOOO worth it. I went with two others and we paid $80 combined (including tip). I am sure it would have been way over $250 though if it was a normal restaurant. And the quality was really good, not some bad buffets you may run into. Probably because of the ingredients quality and their fresh/made to order approach.

  • Jun L.

Its a okay place. For $20.95 you can eat all you want but the waitresses there would always remind me that if I don't finish the food, it would be over charged. Sushi is alright, and the size of it is pretty normal. The taste of most of the sushi is kind of tasteless. I had better sushi back when I was in brooklyn, New York but thats another state where its surrounded by sushi restaurant everywhere.

This is a fun place to enjoy a lot of food. But we were very disappointed with the fried items. Definitely would never order any of them again. Please take my advice and skip the gyoza and the crispy calamari. Even the much praised soft shelled crab roll was way too greasy. On a positive note, the eel was excellent and I really enjoyed the BBQ squid appetizer. My wife liked the cucumber avocado roll. Sushi was well made but the rice was warm. Bottom line, we'd try it again but we won't rush back.

I think this might be my favorite restaurant. Ever. ~$22 gets you fresh, made-to-order sushi, sashimi, and hot Japanese food. No where else have I been able to locate a quality sushi buffet for this price. Personal favorites: ---spicy seaweed salad: your traditional seaweed salad, topped with the slightly spicy mayo (not too rich or creamy, coming from someone who hates mayo)-seafood mix with panko crunchies found in special rolls--it's like sushi without the rice ---BBQ calamari: straight up calamari (cooked squid) in a teriyaki (not bbq) sauce ---teriyaki fish (red snapper?): 2 very thin filets per order--no burden :) ---almost all the sashimi: best deal, no rice ---almost all the special rolls: amazing that you can literally get all the same types that you would get at any other sushi joint, instead now it's unlimited for $22 rather than $10 per roll ---green tea ice cream: awesome ---hot tea (included) Be careful ---you can order as many rounds as you like, so don't kill yourself the first time around. Once we saw 4 people order 2 of every sushi on the menu. The two tubs that came could have fed 30 people. ---they can charge for leftovers (probably more excessive amounts of food) For the variety, freshness, and (what I think) is quality, I still can't believe this place exists and that the prices haven't been hiked up in the last couple years. The food presentation is actually quite good as well. The place is always packed, and reservations don't mean much since they overbook. But once seated, the service is surprisingly efficient. One word to describe this place: Epic.

Gave it 4 stars because the all you can eat in this extremely popular place looked excellent, but we ordered from the menu and it was very slow to come and then worth 3 stars at best, so come here for what most of the people come here for, the all you can eat sushi.

  • Morgan G.

I am currently laying down in the backseat of a car on the way home. Warning: this will be you if you maximize the all-you-can eat. I am in the most worthwhile food coma ever! It hurts to go over speedbumps, and I think I blacked out somewhere around my 6th piece of white tuna. But damn that was some good sushi! I just moved from the west coast and this puts any of my old faves to shame. For $20ish bucks per person, you can gorge yourself on a variety of items, including salads, tempura (pumpkin? Yes!), teriyaki whatever, sashimi, basic rolls, fancy rolls, ice cream, etc. So what if the service isn't stellar. But they are efficient, serve great food, and need to get tables turned over to make money when you're getting such a good value. Just don't let your eyes be bigger than your stomach. Order all you want, but eat all you order! See ya next week after I stop being so damn full.

I love this place! Again, I don't understand how it doesn't have better reviews. The lunch buffet is the best! You order from a menu that includes appetizers, soups, sushi, rolls, and desert. All for $19.95. I highly recommend trying the SPICY SEAWEED SALAD. It's their own secret recipe of combining regular seaweed salad with kani salad. Amazing! I recommend the Tri-Color role.

  • Jane S.

My boyfriend and I went with a couple of our friends on a Friday night. We didn't have an issue waiting too long for a table, but the place is small and popular, so we could see how some people would take issue with a long wait. Overall, the food was good, the service was eh, and that probably contributed to the main issue: we did not get what we ordered. I understand this place is popular for all-you-can-eat sushi, and when you order a lot at once it's tough to even tell sometimes what is what, but we definitely more than not didn't get what we ordered or maybe even anything we ordered (maybe we got another table's? it's not like they can misunderstand what we checked off on a sheet...). So, I suppose if you're a patient person who wants to try new things, this is probably the place for you. If not, try one of the many sushi joints in nearby Princeton. =)

I want to give it zero star because of the treatment our family experience (but this is not an option in this site): discrimination! We are a group of 3 Chinese who were there before the two groups of non-Chinese people: a group of 2 and a group of 5. We were holding the card #1. We saw the waitress lead the 2 people to a table of 4 (even there were just 2 people). They came later than us. We had been waiting there for 40 minutes! The group of 5 just arrived for less than 5 minutes (meaning we waited 35 minutes more than them). they threaten to leave, the waitress immediately told them the table was ready for them. The waitress did not even looked at us! I showed her our card with # 1, she just smile. If the previous group of 2 could sit at a table for 4. Why did she give us the table of 5 even we were 3 people? the only conclusion was discrimination! The placed is run by Chinese, but they took advantages of it and discriminate against their own people!! We were hungry and tired. My daughter just drove 8 hours home. I call all Chinese: do not go there! We drove to Ya Ya noodles in Montgomery instead. Sat down right away, food came in less than 10 minutes. Tasty Chinese food and yummy sushi. Relax and happy. Who want to go to that crowded and rude Sushi Palace again? I won't!

Top notch sushi made to order at an all you can eat price. Best sushi value I have ever had. Awesome joint. Eaten there almost 10 times now.

Some things on the menu are good but the service of the restaurant is horrible. You sit and wait for at least an hour and deal with incompetent workers. If you're up for some frustration and sub-par sushi, go to sushi palace.

I've been to the Edison location...and perhaps thats what spoiled me because it seemed to me that their variety was better. That being said, for a place that is SUPER swamped, these guys do a fantastic job of getting food out quick. Went here last night and it was crowded as hell (Friday night, go figure) but the service was very quick. Best thing we ordered: spicy seaweed salad. Bottomline: long long long wait but if you're hungry, go for it. And ask for some spicy mayo on the side.

I went there on February 3, 2013 with a large group of people, most of whom ordered all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi. My wife and I had never been there before, and we were confused by the ordering system for AYCE. She ordered off the main menu and also ordered two sushi items (using what turned out to be the AYCE order form). I ordered chicken teriyaki off the main menu. I was not particularly hungry and had no desire to gorge myself on AYCE. Another person ordered off the main menu and added an order of gyoza. When the platter of sushi came, my wife took the two sushi items she had ordered from the main platter and put them on a small plate in front of her. The waitress soon came over and abruptly took the platter away and put it on the end of the table where the AYCE people happened to be sitting together and said my wife could not have that sushi. My wife said that thereafter she could see the restaurant staff "watching" her. She felt very uncomfortable. SHE, not the restaurant staff, solved the problem by figuring out, finally, how the AYCE ordering worked, seeing where she had made the ordering error, and then explaining to the waitress that she had not understood the AYCE ordering process and by telling the waitress to rewrite the bill-to-come by charging separately for the two sushi items. That way, my wife ws finally able to enjoy the sushi she had ordered without being constantly surveilled by the staff. On my order of CHICKEN teriyaki: They brought me BEEF teriyaki, and the waitress seemed surprised and annoyed when I told her I had ordered chicken teriyaki. When my chicken teriyaki came, I found the chicken to be very bland and almost tasteless (and that is after I took the teriyaki sauce off a couple of pieces to test my initial thought that chicken tasted weird). The sauce itself was not particularly appealing. There were large portions of chicken terkiyaki and vegetables, plus a small but adeqiate bowl of white rice. Overall, the weird chicken taste made the meal unenjoyable. (I eat a lot of chicken, and I have never tasted chicken like the Sushi Palace served. I even came up for a name for it: faux chicken.) Other people in our group seem to have been happy with their meals and AYCE sushi, so this review is primarily for my meal and secondarily for my wife's experience.

Food-wise for the price: 5/5... incredibly soft, fatty salmon sashimi; soft, light white tuna sashimi, and an amazing crab sushi roll. the tempura shrimp was the only disappointing part... 2/5 on that. Customer service: 2/5... the waitress kept giving me the stink-face though we were quiet and polite. The other waitress who served us was pretty nice though. This place really does not succeed on the courteousness of its staff--there is major room for improvement. We sat at the bar, and were therefore able to avoid the long line wait for a table. The Japanese boys who make the sushi generally don't refrain from remarking to each other (like giggly schoolgirls) about the customers sitting at the bar. Thank goodness most of the customers who sat at the bar that night didn't speak Japanese.

Wow! I have never before enjoyed a sushi experience as much as I enjoy this place. We discovered it (with the help of a few friends) about two months ago and we have been returning every week. The food is delicious, hands down. The fish is always fresher when it's crowded, which is usually dinner time (any time after 5:30). If they are really busy, sometimes the rolls are prepared hastily, which can cause shrimp tails to end up inside the sushi (that happened once, but we still go back). I like going for lunch on weekends (they open 11 or 11:30) because it's always empty and we get the food much quicker. And it's always correct. But you run the risk of the fish being good instead of exceptional. The staff is nice and friendly, but as mentioned by someone else below, they are pretty short with their attention when it's crowded. Which is a lot. Reservations don't do you much good, and the owner, who seats you using his little notebook, isn't very good at estimating wait times. 2 minutes becomes 15, 15 becomes 30, etc. But the food is worth the wait, no question about it. If you're adventurous try the spicy seaweed salad. If not, the house salad is plain iceberg with a yummy ginger dressing that is a perfect start - and it comes out immediately. Kitchen items always arrive sooner than the sushi items, which can take a while. Consider the pacing when ordering. This place sits in a dingy strip mall, but it always has plenty of parking. Great for dates, or for getting a group together. Consider spending your long wait time for a table grabbing a bottle of wine.

Yes, it's $20.00 all you can eat Sushi, but the wait between orders is sometimes 30 mins or longer. The sushi rolls fall apart very easily. Don't bother!

This place is great for all out gorge-fest. The "all you can eat" option is great for a large HUNGRY group of friends. Its fun to get a massive amount of food. So much better then going to a buffet. The food is really good here. Be warned, the service is spotty to bad. I correct this by going off peak-hours.. then its fine.

Haven't done the notorious all you can eat sushi yet, so I'll update after that. But, did do lunch special there. Food was great, prices were great, for 2 rolls + miso soup + salad it was $7 Only complaint: THE SERVICE. We walked in, there were probably 3 or 4 tables there, so it was very empty, there were 2 or 3 servers who ignored us for about 5 minutes even though it was sloooooow. We stood around awkwardly as the seated diners noticed that we weren't being attended to.. fiiinally after making eye contact several times with a waitress she pointed to a table for us. The service after that was Ok, but then again at the end the waitress returned the checkbook with my change in it by tossing it on the table as she sped by... no thank you, nothing...

Dear God is all I can say.... My co-workers DRAGGED me to this place for lunch last week. Believe me I went kicking and screaming... I went with the intent to order as little as possible. When we got to the place it was rather crowded for lunch time. I have no idea WHY... IT STANK LIKE SMELLY FISH!!!!! THE WHOLE PLACE REEKS!!!! There was ONE waitress for the whole place. She ignored us for 5 minutes, at least, before she sat us at a table and ignored us for another 15 minutes. I decided that i would actually try something COOKED from here... there is no way in hell I will eat their raw fish. I went with the red snapper teriyaki.... I asked if i could substitute a shrimp tempura roll for the california roll, because i hate cr's. and she said sure, but it would be an extra dollar, not a huge deal... it brought my food to just over $10. Well after another 20 minutes of waiting I got my food and my mind was blown away by what I saw.... and not in a good way. I counted... 1...2...3... 4... pieces of sushi roll. 4?????? I paid an extra dollar to have 1/3 of my sushi roll COMPLETELY MISSING??? where were the other 2 pieces? did they just throw them out? I was baffled. the pieces that they gave me were teeny tiny too.... less than a quarter's width in size with only about one grain of uncooked rice was covering the seaweed, and it feel apart... oh goodie. These were the same size as the shumai they gave me, the tiniest pieces of shumai I have ever seen.... so teenie tiny... and there were only 2 of those too. The fish was decent sized but overcooked and gummy around the edges. yuck. I paid $10.... for THIS??? The soup was too salty so I didn't eat it and I was no where near full when I was finished my lunch. We had been there over an hour and I was now late coming back to work from my lunch break for this wonderful establishment that should be called "Partial Sushi Roll Palace" My one co-worked stuffed himself with the all you can eat sushi.... and guess what... he didn't come into work the next morning.... Raise your hand if you can guess WHY!

My regular place for Sushi in South Brunswick. We don't have a lot of choices for good sushi in this area any way. It is an all you can eat menu -- from the menu, you can choose whatever you want, and they will serve it on your table for a fixed price of $20 (weekend $22). They do have a la carte as well, but whenever I visited I went for the prix fixe option. For an all you can eat place the quality is pretty decent. A lot of choices as well, especially sushi roles, some are very creative. This place gets very crowded and I have seen the staff get a bit stressed and overwhelmed. Some of the negative reviews about customer service may be about that.

  • Wei M.

I come to this place couple times a month, although the service is not the best, their food is always consistent. If you don't want to wait 2 hours on weekends, I would recommend showing up at 6 the latest, if not, you will be waiting for a while for a table. I am not sure why they take reservations, because they can never honor it on a busy night. If you want decent sushi with the right price and lots of selections, this place is for you. If you are looking for five star services, then you should look else where.

This place sucks. We arrived at 12:30 today and it wasn't that crowded. A menu and ordering sheets were thrown at us and the waitress disappeared. To put it mildly, the service is sub par. When she returned 20 minutes later, we asked for tea and tried to ask some questions; she was too busy on her cell phone and pointed at the papers we were to use. Okay. So we ordered 1 tempura shrimp, 1 spicy tuna handroll, a salmon skin roll, eel avocado roll, and yellowtail jalapeno sashimi--not a very large order. Another cup of hot tea--by the time we were released from this slow torture at 1:40, we will have each had 5 cups of hot tea. Another 15 minutes and we received 2 pieces of really greasy tempuraed shrimp. Okay. We ordered the appetizer, but whatever. Then we waited another 35 minutes. Someone else's platter was put down, which happened to have a really full spicy tuna handroll, but it was not for us. So we waited another 10 minutes or so. Then a large plate, with 2 pieces of yellowtail with a hacked piece of jalapeno on each. Not flavourful and cut poorly so it was chewy. Then a plate with a mostly empty spicy tuna handroll, 2 yellowtail nigiri sushi which we didn't order and which had no flavour and were rubbery--as though they had been sitting out for a few days (even supermarket sushi is better than this), the avocado eel roll which, again, had no flavour at all, and the salmon skin roll, which was super fishy. To top it off, the rice was mushy, not sticky. So we asked for the bill. And were charged for the all-you-can-eat. Huh? You must be f***ing kidding me. No, I didn't swear. Then we were chastised for not letting our server know in advance that we weren't getting all you can eat. Really? The only words we got from her was when she whacked me in the back of the head and said she had to adjust the temperature in the place. And somehow, the 3 rolls and 2 pieces of tempura are normal for an all you can eat order for 2 people? So they adjusted the bill; it was $25 including tax. To state it mildly, this place was absolutely terrible. The sushi was disgusting and bland, and I hope we don't get sick from it. The service is worse than anything we'd had in months--the crappy Thai place in Princeton has better service. Our dog would make better sushi, but would probably also eat it. She'd bark at the children, but would at least be attentive. Anyone who thinks this place is anything above absolute crap has dead taste buds. I really don't know what is wrong with all of the other posters who gave it a 4*. Then again, maybe I should LIKE rubbery, flavourless fish that smells fishy, because everyone knows that freshness=stinky fish! But hey, I shouldn't be mean because a lot of the time people think that quantity=quality. No, it's just a bigger pile of crap. Needless to say, we don't plan to return.

You don't go to Sushi Palace for the ambience, or for a romantic, quiet evening. You go for fun & great sushi, at a very affordable price. IMHO, there is no better value for sushi anywhere. I highly recommend the chicken vegetable soup and the peanut/avocado roll.

Yes! First timer and I love this place! Expect to wait for few on weekends. All you can EAT, no, not buffet, not fish meat sitting out in the open for $ hours. This is All You Can EAT made to order!! You get a sheet of paper to fill out what you want and the chef puts everything together on the spot. Unlike other ALL YOU CAN ORDER PLACE, they garnish the dish and make it all presentable. Not just for sushi, but for any entree they have..... Handroll, Sashimi, Tempera, Udon, Salad, Yakitori (meat on a stick), soup, dessert...... All for $21 weekend dinner ($19 weekday). We put in 5 orders, No problem! Waitress was polite. Consider there was a crown waiting and we have kids, they treated up nice and didn't feel rushed. Although the place was getting to a point of being a fire hazard. Going to the bathroom took some tricky naviation around the re-arranged tables. Overall, definitely will come back.... but it is 60 miles away. Will try their other place in Edison next time Thumbs up for food, service and value.

I've been here several times and the food is to die for. really I feel like I'm going to die and go to heaven because I eat so much food! lol sticking to traditional with it's own kick, every item on their menu is to die for! the it's BYOB since they don't have a liquor license, and seating arrangements are indisputably cramped. definitely do not go in at peak hours or you will be waiting for 45 min or more. there is always people who pack into their little foyer, it's best to keep the elderly and handicapped in the car until you are called. or at best 1 person in your group waiting inside. The wait staff is understandably hurried because I believe there is only 4-5 of them waiting on a packed restaurant every night. granted some have an attitude that is clearly uncalled for (I believe I remember the waitress wearing all the makeup all dolled up for dinner service, she's the worst. but there are 2-3 that are very nice if you have the luck to get them. I often don't see the manager much anymore. I used to see him a lot when they first opened. Over-all understanding the rush and strain each of these waitresses go through every night I can forgive if they forget one or two of my dishes I ordered. I'll just re-order it or pass since I always order more than I can eat. (it's suggested you eat everything because they charge for taking home food you didn't finish. they treat the leftovers as menu items I think.) There is a little looked at and noticed menu for those who don't wish to have all you can eat and not all there items are on the all you can eat menu. so if you feel like being a little different go for it! if not for the place being so crowded that I cringe at the idea of going, and some of the rude waitresses this place would get a 5 out of 5. I really Wish they would expand their place a bit so more people can sit and staff isn't so stressed. those ladies work hard!

I don't always know what I am ordering at sushi places but this place has pretty good sushi. But to put it bluntly, THE SERVICE SUCKS. They barely speak English, and they stuff as many people as they can in the dinning room that it has to be a fire hazard. You simply must get there early or you are going to be waiting outside for most of the night, every time I have been there there has always been a line out the door. Good sushi, bad service, get there early or suffer the consequences.

Something tells me that the manager has been made aware at the glaring customer service problem at Sushi Palace. Came here just last week with a friend at 6pm with a reserveration. Technically it was honored this time, though the place clearly had several open tables (they filled up soon after we sat down). Yes, the waitresses were still rather... aggressive about getting the orders in (and presumably speeding our eventual exit), but we actually got paid attention to despite being seated in a hidden corner table. When we finished our gorge-fest, a casually dressed guy handled our check (presumably the manager) and actually thanked us (!!) on our way out. So, I must say, it was a huge improvement over my past experiences. Yes, they still passive-aggressively rush you to fill orders and/or pay the bill, but besides that there was little-to-no stink-face attitude. Food is still good (big fan of those crunchy eel rolls), though I still can't understand how some rave about it like it's the best fish on earth; regardless, it's still tasty enough to warrant the $20 + tax & tip.

Why am I giving Sushi Palace 5 stars? Great value for a good quality food. Even better, you order the food and a waitress brings the food to you. AND it's BYOB. This place may look like a hole in the wall, but be prepared, it's always busy. You can't go wrong with this place.

This is a great sushi buffet with decently quality sushi. You also get kitchen appetizers and desserts such as chicken teriyaki, beef teriyaki, tempura, etc. It's made to order though, so it is a little slower and has less selection than Ichi Umi or Minado, but it is also cheaper so that's a nice tradeoff.

Excellent value, excellent quality. The seaweed salad is incredible. The Edison roll is great too. Their sashimi is sumptuous. And it's all you can eat! I've been a couple of times and have nothing but good things to say.

The sushi is great, can't be beat. Not the same can be said about the service especially during peak hours. There's a greater chance of messing up your order when it's busy as sushi is a delicate food and it's made to order. Still gotta rate it nicely for the food though.

we came during the challenging time period: saturday night (before valetine's day) with a group of 12 people. we waited for half an hour or so. i had to be little assertive to get the hostess's attention. the food was good but nothing spectacular. the raw fish was fairly fresh and delicious but definitely not top grade, which i don't care. their spicy seaweed salad was great. i didn't like the rolls that much. they were too rice-heavy. we finished with greentea icecream. it was sooo good. tip: beat the crowd. come early. bring a pen. you need to write your own order. don't be scared by the number you put next to each item. they are tiny pieces. for sashimi, i believe one person can handle 20 pieces because they are tiny. we could have ordered 200 pieces of sashimi.... byob!

There's something joyful about all-you-can-eat places. You get to stuff your face without taking a hit on your wallet, and splitting the bill at the end is always easy. Make that all-you-can-eat *sushi* so it's "healthy", throw in BYOB so you don't have to worry about the liquor expense either, and you have a recipe for success. Sushi Palace certainly has this formula down, and joins the growing number of uber-popular Chinese-run sushi places. The major downside is that the front of the house is not managed well at all when busy. Reservations are not honored and parties are seated based on wait time and not on reservation time. They could fix this huge problem and placate loads of frustrated customers if they just had a sign-up list and refused to take reservations on busy nights. Once you FINALLY get in this place is a GREAT value, and that's what keeps the crowds pouring in. It's got fresh well-cut good quality fish, all-you-can-eat with lots of variety including sashimi, sushi, rolls, salads, soups, teriyaki, udon, tempura, dessert (I would recommend AGAINST the tempura, too oily), and efficient waitstaff to boot -- all for only $20/person. So put your sushi purist ideals aside, overlook the lack of authenticity and the long list of Americanized rolls, and enjoy!

  • Geca S.

The fish is REALLY good, and everything on the menu is included in the all you can eat deal. $20 for every kind of appetizer, desert, teriyaki/tempura and sushi you could want is really a good deal. The place was packed on a Friday night, and the waiters were very rushed (so sometimes snippish) and forgot a miso soup we ordered but the service wasn't awful. Also, I didn't realize until I got there but it is BYOB. The reason, however, that this restaurant lost one star for me is because they clearly use a soy sauce that is heavily laden with MSG. That is such an unnecessary choice on the part of the restaurant, and limits their clientele. I am very sensitive to MSG and had a reaction to the soy sauce, even my sister who isn't usually sensitive to MSG had a very flushed red face. I am considering writing a letter to the management about this, because otherwise this place would be a fantastic find for sushi in the area. As it is, though, I'm not sure I would go back.

This is probably the best "all you can eat" sushi in NJ/PA. Not only is it priced right, the food is outstanding. Their list of rolls has all the standard fair plus a few interesting varieties. There is a great selection of sides/apps as well as awesome chef specials. All of the seafood is super fresh. I agree with other reviews that the service can be a bit slow during peak hours, but try to go a bit early/late and you won't be disappointed. Another great tidbit is that this place is a BYO so grab a nice bottle of wine or some great craft beer and you'll have an amazing night out. This place is great for taking medium sized groups and sharing a large variety of food.

It has been said that all human action is driven by desire. This being the case, there's more action at Sushi Palace than in the latest Terminator flick. Here's how it plays out: The Sushinator (that's you) arrive ready to sushinate (eat) the sushi. And you do. Insane amounts of it. And it only costs you $18 on weeknights! All you can eat sushi is the new black these days, but this place serves the best. I've tried most of the sushi places in the area, up to about $50/person, and this one trumps all of them in quality and presentation. You can even request your own modifications to the dozens of sashimi, sushi, and specialty roles. Furthermore, as one expects in a top-notch action context, there are futuristic gadgets. I recently learned that Sushi Palace has installed a infrared device in the ceiling that measures the angle at which your tea mug is accessed. When the angle approaches 45 degrees (this is slightly horizontal, indicating you've had oh, maybe five to six gulps) a staff member arrives to refill your cup with more tea. You will never be without tea even for a moment at this place. The host is also great - the place is hopping, especially on weekends, but he always has a moment to let you know how the waitlist is looking. All I can say is... I'LL BE BACK!

Sushi Palace is EXCELLENT! It's such a FIND. Yes, it's located in a strip mall and doesn't look like much, but inside it's fantastic. There is one server in particular who is always there, hustling around. He's so friendly and happy and always makes sure that everyone is having a good time. Sushi Palace is ALWAYS busy on weekends so be prepared to wait anywhere from 30-50 minutes. It is worth it, however. If you want to be seated faster, mention that you would like to sit at the sushi bar. I've taken many visitors here and they still talk about "that sushi place in Princeton" to this day. You can't beat a $20 all-you-can eat meal with appetizers (the seaweed salad and edamame are delicious), sushi, tea, soup, cooked alternatives, and dessert! Five stars not because the sushi is the best I've ever had (though it is near the top for my sushi experiences) - but for the price, service, and atmosphere as well as the food. Tips: 1) It's BYOB so you can bring your choice of wine, beer, or saki to eat with your meal. 2) The all-you-can-eat is $1 cheaper on weeknights when the restaurant is less crowded. Worth it.

The appetizers are awesome. Out of the buffets I have been to, I can say this place wins with appetizers. However- if you are looking for high quality flavorful sushi- this isnt the place. It is the average cheap all you can eat buffet. If you want to get stuffed then this is the place to go with a group of people. If you are really into sushi you will be disappointed with the quality of the sushi & fish. If you are really hungry and have no where else to go- this will do.

From the outside, Sushi Palace looks like the kind of place where the food should kill you. The stripmall ambiance does NOT inspire a lot of confidence, but having eaten here 4-5 times, I have found that I really enjoy the food. I definitely agree with some of the other reviews that the sushi isn't of the highest quality, even though it's always fresh and safe. For example, the texture of the tuna roll is weird because the tuna is shredded and kind of pulpy rather than a solid block of meat. However, the sashimi and fried rolls are good, and they have some really tasty and creative rolls that feature mango and avocado. Moreover, you can always just pig out on seaweed salad, miso soup, shrimp tempura, edamame, and pork shu mai like we do -- the sushi is almost an afterthought sometimes.

For 20 dollars, the all you can eat here is a great deal. I literally ate through the entire menu, all the sashimi, all the sushi, and all the appetizers. I only ate a few of the rolls because i wanted to save room for the sashimi and sushi. Starting with the appetizers, basically, theyre all freshly fried or cooked. I would get every single one again with a VERY general exception. AS A RULE, DO NOT GET ANYTHING WITH CHICKEN. I swear, a place with food of this quality should not be serving chicken from costco. My favorite was the BBQ squid which was grilled squid with sweet BBQ sauce over it. The croquette was basically a lightly fried small pancake of mashed potato, the shu mai is fried not steamed, and they also had this fried spring roll. You might cringe at getting fried stuff, but believe me, here everything is freshly fried and not at all greasy. The teriaki dishes were all excellent. the red snapper was juicy and flavorful with terrific texture. and OMG, the teriaki tofu... JUST GET IT. its like lightly pan fried tofu covered with teriaki sauce. its just soo good. the tofu is light, and the whole dish just feels delicate. The sushi here is definitely better quality than the other sushi joints around here. Thats due to the fact that they only cut up what you want them to serve you. You have to wait a little longer, but compared to other BUFFETS, the sushi here is definitely higher quality. The main plus here is the sashimi. even compared to place liek minado, just because of the way they serve food here, you have A LOT more varieties of sashimi. basically every raw topping on sushi can be had as sashimi, which i definitely took advantage of. OH, and the eel. OMG. between my brother mom and I, we definitely had at least 50 pieces of eel. Altogether we probably had around 200 pieces of sashimi. Just dont get the crab (its fake crab) In summary, definitely worth the money, and the quality of the food here is great for a buffet. Oh yeah, and its a BYOB place too which is awesome. They also serve alcohol.

Cant beat the price!!!!! Average sushi not the best in the area or anything but if you wanna grab an inexpensive dinner with pretty good sushi and all the extras of soup salad and a variety of apps this is the place. Larger groups are definetly waiting a little while. Great for four or less people to get in quick. Website said it took reservations and they will take it but how much they adhere to that yeaaaaaaa. Bring a bottle of sake or wine and have a good dinner.

Great deal - remember that "how they get you" is by encouraging you to load up on soup, tempura (nice big shrimp), teriyaki (the red snapper), the salads (try the spicy seaweed salad), gyoza, calamari (pass), shumai, udon, yakitori (pass), grilled octopus, etc. There are lots of apps from the kitchen but careful not to overdo it. The selection of sashimi is great but unfortunately they don't do maguro tuna or hamachi as sashimi - but the white tuna is good, as is the salmon, eel, akagai, etc. Sushi you should get the hamachi; they tuna typically is the weakest item. Rolls they have all you can possibly want, the softshell crab roll is one of the standouts. Anja M. could not possibly have eaten here as this is not a buffet; every item is prepared to order. She obviously is confusing it with another restaurant. Remember it's BYO; you cn bring beer, wine, sake. Service is fast; they do an incredible job of turning the tables over. Thursday and Friday evenings you'll see a line through the door.

Felt sick three times after eating here..Felt strong nausea for four days last time, and I think it was food poisoning. Have been to this restaurant about 5 times. Kept coming back to give them the benefit of the doubt because I like the concept -- a full meal, with apps and dessert included, for $20 -- but despite having no prior issues w/ sushi, drinking no alcohol w/ my meal and feeling like I ate a reasonable amount of sushi, I've felt sick the majority of times I've been here. I'm almost positive it's the fish. On my last visit I couldn't get into the restaurant's single bathroom because someone was vomiting in there. Will not go again.

Wow... that's all I can say. Went there with a bunch of Princeton friends who swear that this place is the best thing since sliced bread. We waited for half an hour, crammed in a tiny waiting area with about 20 other people. I kept grumbling to myself that this had better be worth it. Well, I'm pleased to say, it was! Boy was it ever. First of all, it's BUSY. Expect pretty impersonal, curt treatment. But even given their notoriously brusque service, they still managed to accommodate our party of 10 on a Saturday night, so points to them. We had the all-you-can-eat buffet, and it is absolutely as legendary as the rumors say. There's a huge selection of sushi, sashimi, and cooked dishes. And it was all pretty damn good. Better than some of the stuff I've had in New York. I was impressed as hell and stuffed as hell.

I don't know what's up with all the negative reviews. Its a decently priced place to get all you can eat sushi. My friends and I always have a good time coming to sushi palace. You give your sheet to one of the servers when they are around(don't be afraid to call one over), your table's plate comes out in a reasonable amount of time, you eat and repeat. Sure, sometimes one of your appetizers fails to make it to the table. All you have to do is track down one of the servers and let them know. Its not a 5 star restaurant with a server for every table... If you can accept that, then you can enjoy good sushi with your friends. Its byob too - so don't forget your beer.

Update (7.5.09): *I am changing my rating and review.* After experiencing a bit of nausea after dining at Sushi Palace the last time, we vowed that we would not come back often (wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt). After reading Samatha L's review of 6/26/09, I vow that I will never come back!!! Sorry, but even if she is partially telling the truth, that is enough for me! Yikes! I hope this doesn't put me off Sushi forever! _____________________________________________________ Original review: A message to Julie B. and others who might not like this place: Great! More sushi for ME!!!! :) Just discovered this gem recently and I'm going again tonight w/my family for the 4th time in 2 months and cannot wait to have their scrumptious delights! If you're a sushi snob and expect high prices for a sampling of food and a kiss-your-a*** attitude from the waiters- then, this is not the place for you! personally, i prefer great, fresh food at reasonable prices and no-nonsense, courteous service (disregard the very cheap-looking exterior and the boring strip-mall, it is very deceiving). We came from Manhattan a couple of years ago to this area which is a culinary desert, so we waited a very loooooooong time for such a restaurant to open! and we are so glad it did! The quality-price ratio cannot be beat!

I've come to Sushi Palace about 4-5 times in the past, and though my first visit was quite pleasant (I really love sashimi, raw fish, sushi, all forms of japanese food, etc), my experience has SIGNIFICANTLY declined. I'd say that my first experience had me rating Sushi Palace at four stars, and after last night, I'd say it rates at about two generous stars now. Sushi is certainly well-made. However, some of the fish does taste rather frozen and, as a result ends up being rather watery. There are a unique 5-6 rolls that are a combination of a few pieces of fish. The wait on the weekend is terrible, like any all-you-can-eat sushi place. However, what really bothered me and my family was the host's insistence that it would be "just a little bit" of time until we would be seated. We ended up waiting an hour and fifteen minutes, guaranteed by the host every ten minutes that we were about to get our table. The waitresses are cold and unfriendly. They don't speak much English from what I gathered, and normally this wouldn't matter to me, but they were unable to remember many of our requests, and burnt my hand when pouring the tea. After submitting our forms, it took nearly half an hour for the sushi to arrive. I was appalled (usually they were much quicker) that it took the host to recognize that we still hadn't received any sushi when the party who was seated after us had already received two plates. In conclusion, I love a good sushi place, and could care less about service. This was a little bit too much for me though: unfulfilled promises, bad service, watery fish, late service, and unfriendly staff. I will NOT be returning to sushi palace, the experience ruined the food for me.

Great sushi and great all-you-can eat special. But definitely come hungry and DO NOT OVER ORDER or they get PISSED! We got yelled at for not eating the rice. Also note: this is a BYOB place. Overall: sushi is very tasty for the area but I think I like the fact that they have soup, appetizers, tofu, salad and more included in the special; not higher ranked because of service.

OK, so it's not very palatial and it's located in a middle-of-nowhere strip mall; however, I've eaten here about a half-dozen times this summer and have enjoyed it every time. As far as appetizers, the spicy seaweed salad is fantastic... I always order 2 of these for myself off the bat. The sushi is made to order and very decent (better than Ichiban in Princeton). Good luck getting exactly what you ordered, but it's all-you-can-eat so you can just order more. Wasting sushi is frowned upon, but they don't charge you for leaving food on your plate. I always order 2 ice creams for dessert too :) Keep in mind, this is an all-you-can-eat sushi joint. Given that context, the most important things to me would be that everything tastes good and that I don't get sick... check and check. I've scarfed way too much sushi for my own good at this place and have yet to get even slightly sick. Sure, I saw one of the waitresses try to kill a gnat with her bare hands; however, if you're so pretentious that something like that would really bother you, you probably wouldn't be eating all-you-can-eat sushi now, would you?. I definitely prefer Sushi Palace over sushi buffets like Minado, etc... everything is made to order and I don't have to worry about how long something has been sitting out or if the person before me picked their nose or took a crap before handling the communal sushi tongs. If you're in the mood to eat vast quantities of sushi, you can't go wrong with Sushi Palace.

This place gets extremely busy around dinnertime, and patrons crowd the tiny waiting area like sardines. Sometimes it's hard to get the host's attention and put your name on the list. That said, the sushi is very good, and if you eat a lot, $20 for the buffet is a good deal.

Came here for the first time for a friend's birthday last week. Food was delicious, and for $21.95, worth every penny, especially because they let you order SASHIMI! I feel like a lot of all you can eat sushi places don't have that option. Also their rolls were pretty good, especially the butterfly roll! Also get the ones with mango (don't remember what they're called hahh)! Minus a star because it was cramped, and service was pretty awful.

Nestled in an unassuming strip mall just north of Kingston, NJ proper, SUSHI PALACE has become one of the most talked-about and respected Japanese restaurants in the tri-state area. Their claim to fame is the all-you-can-eat for $20. Rather than buffet style, you are given a special menu (abridged from the full menu, but not by a lot) consisting of sushi as well as hot meals. Then you order as much as you want. One California Roll? Good. Ten California rolls? No problem. 22 Spicy Tuna and Philadelphia rolls? You got it. 12 seaweed salads and 3 orders of steamed dumplings? Need you ask... It seems too good to be true, since the quality of the sushi is excellent. Just expect long waits on Sat/Sun, since word has caught on fast for this place. Service is always good, and bamboo atmosphere is great. We trek 90 mins from Phoenixville, PA for SUSHI PALACE. It is worth every minute in the car...

This restaurant almost compares to some of the sushi restaurants my boyfriend and I frequented in CA. The fish is pretty fresh - very healthy and colorful. I loved that the pieces from the rolls were bite-sized and not over-loaded with rice. The spicy white tuna from the sushi bar list is absolutely excellent! Being a salmon-lover, I tend to be picky about all the other fish. But I loved everything we ordered! I can't wait to go back to try more things. The tonkatsu appetizer was the perfect size - just enough to get your salivating for your main meal. Friendly wait staff. Be aware of the rustle and bustle on Saturday night!

I eat here at least once a week for the all-you-can-eat. I love the Tiger Roll and Crunchy Eel roll. The eel is as fresh as I've ever had. The salmon is almost the consistency of Toro (fatty tuna) and is out of this world as well. For less than $20 per person, you absolutely cannot beat their price either.

Great place! Sushi is fresh and made to order. You may also order from a selection of sashimi, apps, udon, teriaki, tempura, and dessert. I highly recommend the peanut avocado roll, shrimp tempura roll, and the shumai. Note that it would be smart to call ahead. We did not call and had to wait about 10 minutes on a Sunday night. This place is also byob so bring some saki to have with your meal. Prices are very reasonable at $18.95 on weekdays and $20.95 on weekends (Kids under 10 are $9.95)

This place is really good! It unleashes the sushi-monger in us all with mouthwatering entrees. My dad, who is not much of a sushi fan and only eats when there are free samples, said that this was one of the best sushi experiences he has ever had. My father and I went there for lunch and saw that the place was PACKED. Very luckily, we were able to get a table without having to wait at all. We ordered lunch specials. I got a salmon avocado roll and tuna avocado roll. My dad got a salmon avocado roll and salmon roll. Our soup and salad was really good, like any other Japanese restaurant. The sushi was AWESOME!!! The fish was soft, light and buttery-clearly sashimi quality fish. The avocado was also very buttery and perfect quality. Really good sushi. The service was ok...The waitress didn't pay us much attention. One thing I don't understand though was what the ordering papers were for and how to use them, so the waitress seemed annoyed. The place is very cramped though, especially during the lunch/dinner hours. I also caught a glimpse of a really big "buffet" platter on the table next to us. Very nice presentation! Overall, really nice place, very good food, service can be better, but DEFINITELY worth a return visit! ~Isha C. Biswas, age 12

This place is pretty amazing. The price is great and the sushi is fresh and delicious. The other items that I tried were also very good (miso soup, spicy seaweed salad, bbq squid, tossed salad) The service is not the best, but the price and food make it worth it!! I've been to a Sushi Palace in CT which is exactly the same but not affiliated, and it is also really good. I'm happy they opened one in Edison, which is close to where my parents live.

If there was ever a guy's sushi place this would be it. This is not the best place to bring a date (too much noise/chaos/tightness) but a great place to feast with friends or other couples. Really, the owners should inquire about some of the open spots in the shopping center and expand. Although parking is ample, the shopping center is entirely unimpressive and the decor is mediocre. What you have here is a great place to chow down on some quality sashimi/sushi, as well as a wide selection of appetizers, hot Japanese dishes, and ice cream. Let's not sell the quality short; the sushi is not the best but really good stuff and I have been to many high and middle-end places. You get WHATEVER YOU WANT, made to order in a rather prompt fashion, for the low price of like $22 per mouth. Just finish what you actually do order or risk getting blacklisted a la Hop Sings. A couple of the rolls are seaweed/rice generous so be careful with how much you order. If you want to keep adding to your order, you may do so with their golf pencil and checklist system which really facilitates the process. They will be eager to help you and the service is ok as long as you work with them in a tactful manner. Designating a Team Captain will be beneficial. Make reservations but still expect to wait up to 45 minutes even if you have them. Punctuality is not their strong suit. There is basically a tiny waiting area so this is a problem in the winter since that gets very tight and you will face a nasty back draft. And do not forget to bring your own wine/beer/sake/liquor because this place does not have a license!

I am big sushi fan but not a Pro who can distinguish between Good and Excellent Sushi. I mean I can't tell the difference between good and very expensive kind Sushi. But this place has one of the best Sushi I have tasted (I am talking about the sushi you get for around 20 bucks). I have sushi cravings about once a week and got tired to buying 5 to ten pieces for $10 from Wegmans, whole foods etc. So I decided to cook my own at home until I went to this place. All I can say is that my wife and I absolutely love this place. You can't get wrong with $20 all you can eat and that too pretty decent stuff. So I am giving it 5 STARS for now (until I become a pro and know the difference between real good stuff i.e. $100 for few pieces of sashimi and good tasting not-very-expensive stuff)

Ok, I just went here for the first time and this place is an -amazing- value for the all you can eat. I went mostly for sashimi and the quality on all of the cuts was very good (true, it is a Monday). I also had the gyoza (very good) , spicy seaweed salad (unique and quite tasty) and the "yummy roll" which lived up to its name. I really like how they make everything fresh for you, and while the portions are very small it allows you to try a little bit of everything on the menu. I highly recommend.

First the good...the food was really good, everything was very fresh and tasty. My 3 companions and I all got unlimited plan and shared everything. The hot appetizers came fast and got us in the mood. We had brought wine, which was happily and quickly opened for us and we got wine glasses, but our water glasses were continuously filled up, as well. All empty plates were whisked away like magic, but they did ask first. Our dinner orders showed up on two huge plates at once. It was "sushi heaven", the special rolls were on one plate and all the rest was artfully arranged on a big square plate. We feasted, only needing to ask for more wasabi & ginger. I never thought it could happen, but I finally couldn't eat any more, and there were only about 4-5 pieces left, so we didn't get a "penalty" for over-ordering. Yes, if you over order by too much, then there is a charge. So if you are unsure of your needs don't order too much ahead, you can always ask to place another order if you are still hungry. We weren't rushed to leave, and everyone at all the tables were really enjoying themselves. The unlimited menu does not have some of the real exotic items on it...like uni, but it is more than enough for the average sushi fan. Now the Not-so-Good...making a reservation turned out to be very difficult. First, I went online and sent an email through their website to reserve a table, then I called in the morning of the day to confirm that I had a reservation. But when I got there my name was not on the list. The hostess was apologetic and she actually arranged for the two people who were sitting at a 4 table to move to a "deuce" so we could be seated. All in al, a new favorite place to sate my sushi needs. But I do advise people to call ahead and come early.

A good value for the money if you are a sushi eater. However, you do sacrifice quality for quantity. Great atmosphere for groups and casual dining. Not a place to impress a date (do you really want to bring a date to an all-you-can eat place?) My only grip is a sometimes I noticed the rice is undercooked. I wasn't a fan of the fried items either. The crab salad was excellent. Definitely will go back. Place is packed on weekends.

you cannot beat this deal. from a value perspective this place gets 5 stars, from a quality, maybe 3.5 to 4. but here's the thing, for $20 you can get much much more than any other buffet/ayce sushi joint. Items that I got on the list yesterday included a ton of albacore, salmon, white tuna, and red snapper sashimi, soft shell crab rolls, eel avocado handrolls, peppered salmon, shrimp tempura, the list gos on and on. i would pass on the gyoza (too frozen packaged flavor), and pass on the fried calamari (simply not good), load up on the shrimp tempura, the udon, all the sashimi, all the hand rolls, the seaweed salad, the rainbow roll, the dragon roll, etc. next time i will test out the teriyakis, i will probably go back within the month.

Sushi Palace hands down is the absolute best value for the quality of sushi that you get. I went with the reviewer J C. here on a friday one time and again on a thursday night and the deal was the same. Absolute difficult to communicate with waiting staff. Bad table placement (I'm 6'4 and had barely any room to put my legs) However, for about $20 and the sheer epic amount of food that you can get is worth it all. From excellent soft shell crab to the best Eel I've had, all the way to the Gyoza and the desserts are fantastic. But the waiting staff will stare at you and wait for you to finish so they can seat their next guest as there does become a fairly long wait time to be seated on some nights.

If your a sashimi eater, this place has only 4-5 offerings. And in the words of the proprietor, they don't serve the better fish because it's too expensive. So, I was disappointed. On the other hand if you only care about sushi (it IS called sushi palace) then there are lots of selections: including rolls, and some salads. I had the miso soup (decent), 5-10 pieces of sushi, from which I started removing the rice and got -- get this -- admonished by the proprietor.

I never thought I could love a buffet so much! I don't usually eat at them what with the never-ending stream of food coming at you, but this was well worth the indulgence. Went with 3 friends and had a blast. Once we got a hang of the menu/ordering process, it was all over. The seafood salad is a must; the ice cream is a great ending, and the sushi is good. Not amazing, not mind-blowing, but good. I was expecting Shop Rite-style sushi with fake crab and rice, but was pleasantly surprised that that wasn't the case...whew! Going back on Friday and I can't wait!

The food is very good but the service is beyond horrible. There is no one running the front, just the wait staff taking turns so it is unorganized and takes forever. The staff is extremely rude. Not one person says hello or anything. They take the paper with your order and just walk away. Seconds or water refills are hard to come by. So..good food but horrible staff.

I ate here for the first time last night after it was recommended to me by a friend. It's a nice change from the usual sushi buffet; the selection of special rolls was pretty surprising considering that it's all you can eat. The quality of the fish is definitely decent; above average as far as most sushi buffets are concerned. The selection of cooked food was also pretty good; although I wish they just told us straight out that they were all out of chicken rather than having us mark down an order for yakitori twice because we thought they forgot to bring it the first time around.

I have eaten Sushi everywhere from Nobu in NYC to the floating Sushi plates that you grab as it floats by in Honolulu. This isn't the best I ever had but it's damn good for all you can eat and under $20. I would pay $25 if they charged it but don't tell them that. Kani Salad is very good and it's all included in the price.

I wish I could give 1/2 stars because this place really deserve better than 4 but it is still not completely perfected. First time we went there we were very hesitant because why would anyone open a restaurant in Kingston in the middle of nowhere? And to be frank all you can eat and buffets is not really our preferred way of eating. I have lived in Japan and am very hesitant to eat sushi here in US, because many places serve oversized sushi and they just don't know how to marinate the rice to give the proper flavour. Anyway, we were in for a good surprise. The rice was marinated to perfection - sweet, salty and sour! The fish was so fresh it was melting on our tongues and it was all presented very well. I guess this is not the usual all you can eat place because they actually make all the food to order, which may take some time (so don't go if you cannot wait). But the presentation was beautiful and I dare say it is worth waiting for those mouth watering pieces of sushi. We also dwelled on the Sashimi (which is included in the all u can eat) but there the menu is limited. Only problem is that today you have to wait for at least 30-60 min during weekends. The place has become overly popular and it is amazing to see how many people will travel to Kingston, NJ. This is a true gem in the middle of nowhere.

Just out of that place and thought I should give those who are sensitive to human odor an advice: DO NOT GO THERE IN SUMMER! Image you are sitting in a tiny waiting area (6'X10'?) with 20 or more people standing around, you could hardly stand up to get a menu to browse as it is all jammed with PEOPLE. Yeah, it is popular, so you would have to sit there 50 minutes without warning, even you are there before 6:30 (like other reviews suggested), even you have made a reservation. I guess it is all By Design - it's a "all you can eat" place, so you really can't predict how long it takes people to eat, drink, or chat, so you really don't know how long you will have to suffer. I felt suffocated after almost an hour of waiting since 6:18pm today. The only reason I give it 3 star is because of food. I do like the spicy seaweed salad, red snapper, shrimp tempura, tricolor roll, soft shell crab roll and red clam.

I love sushi and was excited to try this place Went early Saturday night and the place was packed. Sat at the sushi bar and everyone was working hard which is fun to watch. Miso soup was great. The sushi was better than I expected- mostly good some great- and came out quickly. Pretty good selection of the sushi standards plus nice special rolls. They keep your glasses full which is nice and a common fault at all you can eat joints. I could have used another order card sooner but it was there before the last plate was empty, and it's not like I asked but was ignored. Tried white tuna. Sweet tender and delicious. Red bean ice cream to finish it off was really good.

DO NOT CONFUSE THIS SUSHI PALACE WITH THE HORRENDOUS EDISON SUSHI PALACE. This Sushi Palace is the one where the people working actually care about their customers. Its an all you can eat place so the sushi quality is good but not great, which for 20 bucks you can't really ask for more. Service is fast and the place is large so you should never have to wait long. A-OK!

Sushi palace has become my favorite place in Princeton area to have sushi. Judging By the entrance the place looks cheap and not that good , but once you get inside is so different. The salmon avocado is my favorite , you can tell how fresh is the fish and how clean is the preparation process , the sushi rolls are always well made and the relationship between quality and price is good . The only cons is the attention , even though they are really fast placing your food on the table the waitress are sometimes rude.

The service is not the best but to be expected when this place is busy. A crowd cannot wrong.Patience is a virtue that is well rewarded. The AYCE is not expensive and is good value for the money, but ensure you are aware of the portion sizes as they are tailored for the individual. All in all I would eat here again.

I have been to the one on Inman Road in Edison a few years back and came back to the Kingston/Princeton local this past week. There is the regular menu, then there is the all-you-can-eat menu. Go for the all-you-can-eat option. Choose from appetizers, soups, regular dishes like teriyaki or katsu, and the sushi. Just write the number of orders you want for each item and voila! The food keeps on coming. The service is a little hectic, and I was not able to get a refill of water or hot tea from a waitress until I was nearly finished eating. If you can overlook the service, the experience is worth coming for. You really want to order everything from the menu but you better be hungry before coming here. The sushi was tasty and nicely presented. The spicy seaweed salad appetizer was soooo good I wanted to order more of it. For under $30 a person, you will get your money's worth here.

They said they just got the shipment of fresh fish that morning..... Hm well if that was their best I'd hate to come in on a day where it wasn't. Sushi was horrid. I understand some places could have bad quality but this was the worse. Food: the fish was stale tasting. I don't know if that even makes sense but that the only way I can describe it. They have no interest in quality of presentation or taste. The sashimi wasn't even good but in comparison to their rolls it was 10x better. (Take a look at my photo) When I told the chefs that I wanted only the fresh fish he yelled and said that all his fish was fresh. Ok well give me the pretty looking one because I refuse to eat that brown salmon. Service: damn right shit. The wait staff even the chefs kept a giving my table a stank face. They were so rude when handing us our orders as if it was bother to them. Never coming back.

My first visit to this location of sushi palace was about 5 years ago. Ever since then, I've been coming back semi-regularly. For a while, the service was terrible, but the food was great. After my last visit, I can now say that the service is terrible, and the food is also terrible. The restaurant is usually packed at dinner time over the weekends. When I went here on Sunday, there was no wait time at all, and the place was only about 2/3 full. At the time, I thought it was really strange... but now, I totally understand why. We placed our initial order pretty soon after sitting down. A full 20 minutes later, the spicy seaweed salad arrived. It seemed warmer than usual...like it was sitting out for a while. Our main order of sushi eventually arrived too, and it was so disappointing. There has been a HUGE decline in food quality since my last visit. The salmon sashimi was watery and obviously not fresh at all. The salmon sushi, on the other hand, was surprisingly normal (check out the picture I uploaded..there is an obvious difference in color and texture between the two). The red clam (one of my favorite things to order as sashimi) was not fresh at all either, and it was a chore to finish for the first time ever. Most of the specialty rolls I used to love were so disappointing this time. The crunchy eel roll was especially bad because the tempura flakes tasted really stale. It was clear that the ingredients used in all of the specialty rolls were just not as fresh as they used to be. The service was awful throughout our dinner, but I sort of expected this based on past visits. A lot of our orders took a long time to come out..basically to the point where we were asking the waitresses if something was still on its way every 15 minutes. A few of our items never even showed up. The price for the AYCE used to be very worth it, but now it's a huge rip off. I honestly wouldn't be surprised at all if this location of sushi palace goes out of business in the near future. They really need to make some improvements to their service and quality of food. If not, they'll continue to lose returning customers, myself included.

All you can eat sushi is a great way to try a little bit of everything on the menu. It's a shame the majority of the menu is not very good. The sushi pieces are thin and small so you aren't getting very much fish. The sashimi pieces are thick and are about the size of a quarter. The maki rolls have too much rice. Their goal is to fill you up so you don't go for round two. And, NO, DO NOT EAT THE CHICKEN TERIYAKI. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. It tasted like the chicken was undercooked. I was afraid to not eat it because I didn't want to be surcharged for "food waste" and now I am paying for it in the bathroom. I should have sucked it up and said "You know, arrogant waitress, this tastes like crap, surcharge me." Here is what I liked: Free tea. I love Japanese Green Tea. Free Water. It is hard to mess up tap water in Central New Jersey. Seaweed Salad. I had the plain one and my pal had the weird one with the imitation crab meat. Eel Sauce on Shrimp Tempura. Very yummy. It would be three stars but for my frequent trips to the bathroom from the chicken. I blame the chicken because my pal did not eat that and she is not dyyyyiiiinnnnnggggggg two days later.

I mean, it's fine. It's a typical AYCE sushi place which means the fish is not delicately cut, the service feels a little rushed, and it's often crowded, but the food is fresh and there's a bunch of options so, ya know, it's fine. I will say that sushi places in general need to chill with putting spicy mayo on everyyyyyything. I think 90% of the rolls here have sauce on them. Let the fish speak would ya?

Sushi Palaaaaaaaace. Been here so many times- so fun! You can get the $25 all you can eat dinner! You get two small white sheets where you can choose an array of sushi, sashimi, maki, tempura, soup, salad, teriyaki and everything else you could want from a Japanese restaurant! Definitely try the spicy seaweed salad. It's the bomb! Also the Edison roll! That one is the best. The spicy tuna and tempura vegetable roll are also very tasty. I usually order some tempura pumpkin and sweet potato as well. Love that stuff! Also the peppered salmon is really fresh. The seasoned outside is a nice touch. Order A LOT of it! They come in like mini bite-size pieces. Sometimes I've noticed that the avocado is slightly brown on or in sushi rolls BUT it's ok. They have a high volume of customers ordering many items, so it makes sense if the avocado is sitting out for a bit. The service here is super fast and will ask if you're ready a lot, so be prepared! They are really nice though and are just trying to do their job. Enjoy, and don't forget it's BYOB!

I used to come here all the time since it was convenient and cheap but I haven't been back in a while. I was so glad to see how many vegetarian sushi options they had but since I'm such an avocado lover I just ordered an avocado roll and mango avocado roll. The rolls were pretty good but not amazing. It was nice that they were generous with the avocado but the ratio of filling to rice was a little off in my opinion. I did like how strong the wasabi is (a lot of regular sushi places have really bland wasabi) and the prices were really reasonable. They do a lot of special offers and all-you-can-eat sushi deals. What ruined the experience was the service. The servers were kind of rude and didn't even ask how we wanted to pay - if we wanted to split the check etc. They also took forever with everything and the waiters just seemed really frazzled.

First time to try the place and it was pretty busy on a Friday night. Got our seats quick. We ordered a variety of sushi/sashimi and rolls. IMO sushi/sashimi subpar... Quite disappointing. I should've known better and avoid AYCE restaurants. The sashimi was tiny and not cold... Age tofu was a joke... Not authentic at all. The only thing I enjoyed were the miso soup and seaweed salad. .. we didn't order second helping of sashimi or sushi cuz we both felt not worth to stuff ourselves with food that are of lower quality. However, if you like sushi rolls and are starving, u might enjoy the place, but if you want authentic Japanese sushi/sashimi, I urge u to spend your money elsewhere.

Food wasn't that great and I'm pretty sure the waitress called me some name (in Chinese or smtn) when I gave her a 15% tip. Wouldn't recommend it.

I travel from Philadelphia to Princeton just to go to Sushi Palace. For around $25 (depending on if you go on a weekend or weeknight), you get almost everything you want at a Japanese restaurant. The seaweed salads are all good. I love the fried shumai and peanut avocado rolls. The fish is very average. It's all you can eat, so I don't expect top shelf quality fish. I tend to stay with the cooked products and rolls when I am here. The service is usually subpar, but it's run by Chinese people and it's all you can eat.

The restaurant waiter attitude is very good, I come to dinner every day. How do you think of the restaurant service?

    (5)
  • Nan S.

I will never go back again! Reasons: 1. They put spicy tuna on my platter instead of spicy crab. I examined it to be sure it wasn't spicy crab. I picked one up. I called the waitress over and told her. Instead of leaving it on the plate she grabbed my whole platter took it off (probably not to waste it & reserve it). I asked her several times for my spicy crab finally it came on a diff plate. ATTITUDE! 2. My son and I became very very sick a bit after lunch. It was our first meal of the day. I feel the quality has gone down and the service is horrible. Don't waste your time or money!

Ok I'm giving 4 stars not for standard sushi but for the all u can eat special. Sushi and other items were very good and the whole thing is a great bargain and lot of fun to share. Now if I want a sushi dinner with variety and omakase then I'm not coming here. I mean all the fish I had were quite good but kinda average. If u feel like a big sushi meal and you are with a small group this place can't be beat.

  • Joseph C.

The quality here seems to have gone down over the years. I used to come all the time, but the sushi just isn't good enough to keep me coming back. Granted, the all you can eat sushi is a pretty good deal for the money, but I'd rather savor some good quality sushi then waste my money on unlimited mediocre sushi (way too much rice and way too little fish). There have also been a few times where they have given wrong rolls and pieces, but considering it's all you can eat, you can just order another roll. They do charge you extra money if you don't finish everything, however. Also, if you do come here, don't order the butterfly roll. Sugary-sweet fruit sauce does not go well with sushi! We had to force ourselves to finish it so we weren't charged extra.

The good: All you can eat sushi for a really good price. Unlimited ice cream. The bad: Staff is not friendly and seem bothered by your very presence. Also they're super judgmental about how much sushi you eat (it's ALL YOU CAN EAT, ok??). And their all you can eat menu is definitely the C-list sushi. It includes pretty much every basic roll, with a limited selection of specialty rolls. It's understandable, but still a bit disappointing. Bottom line: Come here if you're hungry for copious amounts of sushi. Go elsewhere if you're looking for quality over quantity.

Somewhat to my surprise, most of my American friends had never been to an all-you-can-eat joint where ordering is done via menu. I'm used to this type of dining, but if you've never had it, an extra point is probably in order for novelty. Service is disconcertingly fast, and dinner buffet has unlimited sashimi (including eel)! Rolls are fairly well made, and feature the rice/fish proportions you'd likely expect from a joint like this. The chicken yakitori didn't seem cooked all the way through, though, a suspicion reinforced by the quick onset of gastrointestinal distress. The pain subsided quickly, though, and I was able to eat my way through a few more rolls. A word of caution - the green tea ice cream is terrible; so extremely bitter, and not at all like what you're expecting. Don't come here for the ambiance, though. Sushi Palace is located in a dimly-lit strip mall, right next to a gazebo (?) manufacturer. It's also a bit of a hike for University students unless you have a car - though there's apparently a bus route that runs right by.

I would consider myself a regular here, and you really have appreciate the good and bad of this place. The good: - All you can eat sushi for ~$20 - Sushi is pretty good - Seaweed salad is good - Food wise (considering only price, food quality and quantity) an amazing value. The bad: -The "service" is not service. You check how much you want and the "waiters" pick it up and bring it to the kitchen. Very few of them speak English. - Sometimes your order will be forgotten - I feel like a pig, since massive amounts of food is being thrown at me. - Not the best sushi, but good. - Tiny waiting room can get rrealllyyy crowded on busy nights - No reservations. Summary: If you don't care about having barely any interaction with your "waiter" and like a great deal on good sushi, this is your place.

Best sushi in the area. I could be wrong, but I think this was one of the first all you can eat sushi spots in the area. For $20 per person, its a steal. Besides sushi, you have a kitchen menu to choose items from varying from gyoza and other appetizers to chicken teriyaki and noodle bowls. Everything I have had is good. There are many rolls to choose from and this is a great opportunity to try something new. It's nice to come with a big group so that you can bask in glory as your huge plate of sushi arrives. But this is also a great place for dates or catching up with friends. Make sure to pace yourself and take advantage of ordering in rounds. Order a few items first and place second or third orders to make sure you have room for it all. Hands down favorite roll at Sushi Palace or otherwise is the Edison Roll. Don't miss it!

  • Stephanie Z.

One of my go to sushi spots here. I've only done the all you can eat once and it was pretty good. I usually just order their sushi lunch special, which is so affordable - you can get three rolls, miso soup and the house salad for less than $11!

The sushi is very good, but the all you can eat menu is limited. We used to love this place and have been there at least 10 times. We no longer go there. I got tired of the rudeness. I don't want to spend money and be made to feel like I am despised. If service doesn't matter to you; you will probably enjoy your experience.

After much searching (and disappointment) since moving to the area, we finally found an AYCE sushi place. The ambiance is very nice - it looks clean, nice and very appealing. I love the orange stone for the tables. The service was great - the staff was always attentive to us and we were brought all the food we had requested (which I know can sometimes be an issue to any AYCE place like this - we had issues in NY with other places not bringing everything we asked for - even though we came to the place religiously and they KNEW we always ate everything). The food was pretty good. The sushi and sashimi seemed fresh, and tasted great. We had the peppered salmon, salmon, squid, red clam, kani, tobiko and eel. The appetizers were tasty - we ordered the spicy seaweed salad (delish), gyoza and fried calamari. For the rolls, they were up and down. Jersey Girl - Nope. Didn't think the mango would overpower like it did - not for me. Kamikaze - Good. I don't eat eel, so the BF ate the portions with that and I picked on the other pieces. Edison roll - probably my favorite. Warm & cold mixed in a good balance and very tasty. They also had a special for the weekend, the Pikachu roll - it was like a sampler platter for meats - I believe it had salmon, tuna and shrimp (?) wrapped in the pink soy paper. Was also very tasty - would eat that again. We're out of practice, so we were only able to order those 4 rolls and our sushi/sashimi. Will definitely be returning!

Who doesn't like unlimited sushi? This place is my number one go-to place if I'm craving some good sushi. The service isn't too bad and for $20 for what more could one ask?

  • Nancy X.

Okay, so it's all-you-can-eat sushi, but it's not good all-you-can-eat sushi. My litmus test for good sushi spots is whether they know the different between white tuna and escolar (oil fish). Not sushi palace. They serve you nasty, diarrhea-inducing escolar as "white tuna". That's either stupid or unethical. Strike one. They use SO much rice in their rolls. Another sign of a bad sushi spot. Okay, okay, I'll stop being a negative nancy. Things i like: -spicy seaweed salad: this is a must here. It's yummy seaweed salad with tempura flakes and imitation crab mixed in. Might sound shitty, but it's actually pretty tasty -sashimi is decent quality. -unlimited ice cream. This needs no explanation. That's a pretty short list. Sushi palace is really not something you need in your life.

For a great sushi experience, definitely try Sushi Palace! I'm not too crazy about sushi, but the sashimi and maki rolls were amazing. I would most definitely recommend every salmon dish because salmon is just great - and they prepare it so well. The all you can eat lunch was worth the time and money - the rolls and dishes came out neatly and quickly. The spicy seaweed salad was a great starter and they serve ice cream to top everything off at the end. I will definitely be returning.

A great place to stuff your face and go with a group. Don't expect anything pretty though. The waitstaff looks lobitomized and the "decor" is dreary. BYOB.

This is my about tenth time here. However, it is the first time during a week day. During the weekends, even if you make a reservation, be prepared to wait. The food is always fresh and delicious. Service is fast and efficient. Not the top of the line quality sushi and sashimi but great value and still delicious! Try the butterfly roll, spicy seaweed salad and taro tempura. :)

  • Kelsey F.

This is definitely our go-to all-you-can-eat-sushi place. I *love* their spicy seaweed salad, and the sashimi, maki, and sushi is delicious! I haven't had any problems with getting "too much rice," as one reviewer said. Service is slower on the weekends, but that's because the place is usually packed, so that's understandable! All in all, a great pick for AYCE sushi.

  • Paul Y.

All you can eat sushi: super awesome. i am a huge fan; their seaweed salad and mushroom soup are my go to appetizers to open the way for huge trays of sashimi and a few special rolls (always soft shell crab) I mean, caveats are about service. They regularly lose orders, give you random other people's orders, don't really honor reservations etc... So yea, send someone ahead if you have a big party incoming to make sure they are holding some space + if you have a reservation, you essentially just cut the line of walk-ins That being said, for most high schoolers and college students in the area, this is a go-to location, and you can't go wrong with as much sushi as your distended gut can hold.

  • Eric O.

you can't stop this all you can eat! my wife and I are huge fans and go about once a week. the service is excellent and the sushi is made to order, fresh! For $25 (soda and tip) and the fact it's byob, makes this spot defiantly worth a shot if you haven't yet. I would have given it a 5, however, on a Friday and Saturday, if you're not there by 6 pm, you stand a good chance of having to wait for a table. this location is very small and fills up fast. the wait could be a while.

Went to Sushi Palace last night, here are my impressions: 1) Decor is pretty nice actually for a strip mall/plaza kinda eatery. There was 2 or 3 sushi chefs usually at the bar with seating available at the sushi bar along with a bunch of 2 and 4 person sized tables that can probably be grouped together as needed. 2) You've probably seen but they offer an All you can Eat offer, which was 18.95 (19.95 on weekends). You order using one of the normal sushi paper slips you see around most places, and you can order as much or little of anything. The sushi selection itself on the all you can eat was decent, there's sushi, sashimi, regular rolls, and most but not all of the special rolls on their selection. You can also get deserts, appetizers (soups, salads, gyoza, edamame, etc) and also udon/noodle soups and teriyaki/tempura. Not bad for all you can eat, and it's not a buffet but a basically unlimited ordering deal. 3) Wait staff was pretty attentive and nice. I heard them explain some things to people and wasn't bad. Their english seemed fine to me, they got us refills on waters and tea without prompting. The food itself was sent out fairly quickly too, even with fairly busy evening (it wasn't full but was nearly so on a Monday evening). 4) The actual sushi was just *ok* in my opinion. I didn't find their fish to be exceptionally flavorful. For instance I find the salmon at Ajihei to almost explode in my mouth with taste, but not so much here. I also found their nigiri to fall apart a bit too much, I had to eat with my hands, which I don't mind, but I couldn't pick up the whole thing and put it into my soysauce in one piece with chopsticks and I use chopsticks all the time. While I want the rice to not be packed, since it should fall apart when it goes into your mouth, when it doesn't allow me to dip it in soy sauce it may just be a bit too weakly put together. The rolls were fine, they have the usual assortment of custom extravagant rolls ("tiger roll", "butterfly roll", etc) which are certainly tasty but I've always found a bit too heavy all at once. Certainly a lot of people enjoy them though, including the person I went with. If you mostly eat rolls they are probably fine/good. At Sushi Palace certainly get value if you are looking to eat a lot of sushi and are ok with average sushi, I'd go again, but only for a filling meal as opposed to top notch sushi.

The food at this restaurant is decent, for $20.95, it is worth it. The fish could be more fresh and is definitely not cut correctly. The rolls have some creativity to them and are not extremely ricey like other sushi buffet's . Be aware that anything you order with teriyaki sauce comes drenched on sauce. The menu could also have more selection. The service and organization is absolutely atrocious. My order got lost twice and there was food missing from my order a number of times. It gets quite crowded on weekends, and they try to chase you out. If you want fresher fish, go to shogun or any other a la carte sushi restaurant. For college students, this place is definite a hot spot.

Great and cheap place to eat sushi and sashimi. Was previously a Thai restaurant in Kingston Mall and just opened. Fresh fish, nice service, clean place, and not expensive. Have an all you can eat formula for about 20 dollars that we will try next time. The location is a bit isolated in a mall, near a chinese restaurant, but we will come often. We had a 16 pieces of fresh fish, a few additional ones (mackerel and eel), a couple of extra miso soup, rice, green tea ice cream and had a very nice diner for $60 (2 adults and one 10 y child). Deserves to be successful, excellent quality/price ratio. You should try (we have no link to the restaurant but were very positively impressed so wanted to let other know it and give the opportunity to try). Wishing them much success in spite of a remote location, a few miles from downtown Princeton.

All you can eat sushi. Do I need to say more? They have my comfort rolls (Alaska and California rolls) and if you want to try something else the all you can eat option lets you explore othet great rolls like the Edison rolls. If you love sushi this place is a must.

  • Sophia X.

Love hate relationship with this place. It's cheap for all you can eat sushi and the food here is fresh enough to taste good and not have food poisoning. We usually come here in a big group to splurge on seafood. It does the job, but food-wise really can't expect too much. Also there's usually a long line during dining hours, and this place is very strict on you finishing everything you ordered, even if it's one piece of sashimi left on the plate. It's a fair policy but just keep that in mind when you order.

    (3)
  • Melanie H.

When u order all you can eat. They make sushi too much rice. Try to make your belly full with cheap rice so u will order less in second round. If u leave rice out from the sushi and eat only fish part, then will come by and give u lecture about u can not leave any food before ordering second round. Frekin rude that they telling me. What I eat or not to eat. And if you order 3rd rounds, fish portion gets half smaller in sushi than first round of sushi that u ordered. Cheap trick that they are using it to save money by cutting fish in half and add more rice on sushi. Nasty marketing tactic. Only good part is u could bring ur own drink.

Sushi Palace doesn't have the best quality or freshest sushi by any means, but people come here for the price. It definitely has some of the cheapest sushi around, and it's not bad at all given how cheap it is. You can get a normal roll for $2-5, and special ones for about $10. Its greatest deal is definitely the unlimited all-you-can-eat sushi deal. For $24 per person, you can have an unlimited amount of sushi, and you can choose any roll on the all-you-can-eat menu. This is a great deal if you and your friends have an afternoon to kill, and want to spend a few hours slowly eating your money's worth of sushi. But like I said, the sushi here is pretty average. Better than a sushi takeout place, but not on par with other dine-in Japanese restaurants. The environment is very nice. It isn't fancily decorated, but it has a comfortable, casual vibe. I often come here with a friend or two, and we chat away as we eat our sushi. I always see big families, small or large groups of friends and couples at Sushi Palace having a good time. Sushi Palace is a great place for a casual date or to catch up with friends. If you live in the area, it would be a great go-to sushi place to get your fix of sushi without hurting your wallet.

All you can eat sushi for around $22!! You can't pass that deal up. From reading other reviews, I was worried about the huge amounts of rice I would supposedly receive with my sushi, but this was not the case at all. I felt that the amount of sushi was small (often just a small rim around each piece) or just right. They also tell you up front about not wasting any food, but I didn't find that they were huge sticklers about it. They came by and took our seaweed salad and miso soup bowls away even when there was still some left. Perhaps they are just sticklers about the sushi?? Overall I found that the service was excellent, they were attentive, prompt, had our huge order down to a T, etc. The food was pretty decent quality too. This was my first sushi buffet and I was impressed, will definitely be going to more!

The long wait is worth it! We order all you can eat sushi for $22.95 per person. Very fresh and always consistent! Never had a bad meal yet! HOWEVER, their bathrooms are gross! Which makes me think who is washing their hands, when there is no soap either and the floors are flooded with urine !!

  • Ashay S.

The service gets worse and worse each time. The last time I went with my family, half the order was forgotten and we had to keep on trying to get the attention of the waitress. Finally my wife slammed her fist on the table got up and walked to the cashier counter for assistance. I looked around and we weren't the only ones frustrated. My kids were getting cranky since most of their food didn't come for almost an hour. The positive is that it's a decent all you can eat place for pretty cheap...thus all the college kids that come. However, they just lost another customer and will not be going back. In Japan, the customer is not king but "the customer is God".....I would say this place should be ashamed....but I guess we are not in Japan....

I come here once a month, literally. I love how it is all you can eat for only 22.95 on the weekends! The food is delicious and there is no much to choose from! The key to this is don't order everything you want at once and take it slow! The wait staff is very friendly and attentive, and once you order it comes out quick. It is also BYOB! My favorite rolls are the pink lady and edison roll, which I guarantee you will like. The seaweed salad is also the best I ever had, as well as the tempura. Everything you order is fresh and you can even see the guys making your sushi behind the sushi bar. You cannot go wrong here, and once you try it you will be hooked!

Let me start off by saying I rarely complain. But in this case I downloaded the yelp app just to write this review. We ordered 2 all you can eat and 2 meals. I reached over to grab 1 sushi to try since the 4 of us were all taste testing each others dishes and management came over and threatened to charge us another buffet meal. I communicated to her that we ordered 4 meals and I was only trying 1 sushi. The manager was extremely rude and unprofessional. I've never had worse service. We live 2min away and I will never come back to this place.

5 stars during the week-end and Friday night, 4 stars during the remainder of the week for the freshness of the sushis....It has been our go-to-place go when we have been looking for traditional sushis in All You Can Eat quantities. It has been an awesome value for the money (about $25 per adult person pre-tip on Friday night and during weekends and even cheaper during the week (lunch or dinner)). You could also order items individually or bento boxes.... We like to order the spicy seaweed salad and the crispy calamari as starters. As main dishes, we would recommend the salmon, eel, surf clam, skid, red and white tuna, raw shrimp, tobiko, yellowtail and squid sushis. The roll 'maki avocado and eel' have been also superb. The avocado has been consistently green and fresh. The eel has been melt in your mouth and buttery. This roll has six pieces. Our favorite desserts have been the green tea ice-cream and the fresh fruits. The service has been prompt. We selected what we wanted on spreadsheets and the staff served us rapidly. Generous free refills of green tea and water throughout meals.... The place has been kid-friendly, but they do not have a changing table in the clean restrooms. The decor and atmosphere are simple. We would recommend a booth over a table for a couple. The seats are more comfortable. High chairs have been available. It has been easy and free to park. Our family and a friend have been enjoying fresh sushi regularly here...We have been there over ten times and never had any stomach issues. We would highly recommend you will give them a try if you were to be around. As the restaurant has been popular, there has been sometimes a fast moving queue at the entrance.

Used to love coming here. The service has turned to crap recently. Watched as tables who sat and ordered well after me got their food. When I asked the waitress what was taking so long, she responded "you not order yet". I didn't start a pointless argument. I simply asked for more order forms and continued to reapeat my order. When my food finally came it didn't seem as freash as usual. Once a staple in Princeton has now turned into a lemon. Speaking of lemons, they should squeeze some on the fish so it isn't so foul.

This place is good for what it is. Sushi is delicious and it's an all you can eat place. However the staff can be a bit over bearing. If they think that you are ordering too much at one time they hound you about ordering too much. When I go it is usually with 2 other people. We always finish. One time we went there and figured we'd try a roll we never had before. Didn't like it. And the they added $8 to our bill because we didn't like it. Not a good way to get people to try new things on the menu.

Ok, I love sushi, all types. Lets clarify something first; Sushi Palace is not a place that you go to in order to eat exotic items like Uni. (if you want that type of stuff go to Mochi Mochi in Princeton, be prepared to pay NYC prices) But Sushi Palace is a place you go to to have fresh sushi, prepared in the fashion of the lunch time fashion of sushi shops in Tokyo. Great Sushi. Good service, Awesome price point.

Decent all you can eat sushi for the money, if not the best I've had in terms of AYCE. The sushi is made to order, so you fill out a form in order to select what you want. The food was better than I expected. The fish was fresh, and the options are quite wide. The spicy seaweed salad was something I've never seen before, and it had the perfect amount of kick. The rolls have a heavier rice-to-fish ratio, so the carb watchers may not like. However, i think it's the perfect amount for normal eaters - enough to absorb the soy sauce yet still taste the fish. The service could've been a tad better, but we were in a larger group, which could've been a little harder to manage. If beverages needed a refill, it had to be requested. And while he probably didn't mean to, I felt like he snatched my paper out of my hand when I submitted it. The appetizers come out pretty quick, but they don't come out all at the same time. They just come out as they are available. The sushi and rolls do take awhile, but that can be expected since they are made to order. What's confusing is that it also doesn't all come out at the same time. We had to ask our waitress a few times whether this was it or if more was coming, and she herself had to go check. This inevitably led to wrong/missing orders. (We placed an order for 60 pcs of sashimi and 60 did not come out, which resulted in us ordering more). We also received an order that was not ours, but didn't realize until a little later. We didn't eat it, and when we asked for the check, the waitress stated we would be charged for the pieces not eaten. So we proceeded to eat the leftover pieces, even after we placed our used napkins and dirty plates on top. (Our collective dignity isn't worth a $6 surcharge). So tip - don't just accept orders that aren't yours or go crazy with the ordering. Other than the mixed orders, sushi palace is a decent place to go, but it is a bit on the small side. We had a group of 9 and we seemed in the way as we had a table in the middle. So I wouldn't consider this a Sushi "Palace," more like a Sushi "strip mall plaza unit," with good quality sushi without breaking the bank.

I would eat here every day if I live/woek closer. Their spicy seaweed salad is good!!!! Everything else are good and fresh as well.

Seriously hit or miss with the quality of fish... Service is also spotty. If you hit it on a good day then nothing to complain about, stuff your face. If a low quality day.. You won't feel like stuffing. Also don't show up right before the kitchen closes because they won't warn you before you begin ordering and they will shut off all the lights and wait for you to get out of there.

They have the best spicy seaweed salad here. I've ordered from other places and no one compares!

As I've gotten older, my ability to stuff myself with straight sashimi has deteriorated. So nowadays I order a greater mix of foods. The appetizers add a nice bit of diversity to the meal. The age tofu and teriyaki tofu are really good (teriyaki tofu is essentially like age tofu with a delicious teriyaki sauce). The vegetable tempura was surprisingly delicious as well, I liked the taro. The appetizers are pretty small in size, excluding the salad and edamame, so you won't fill yourself up too much and can get more servings if you like whatever you've ordered. The shumai is not as good as at Masa Sushi, but the salmon is better. But more important, the eel is delicious. They're also now offering this new pepper salmon, which is just salmon sashimi with a bit of sauce over it. It's good, and those who don't like straight sashimi may like this better. And end with green tea ice cream!

The time to wait is too long, and the sushi is not fresh. Even the lunch box is not good

I came here with friends when I was 9 months pregnant, obviously I can't have any sushi so I ordered a bowl of noodles, my friends ordered all you can eat sushi. My friend asked me to try one bite of salad that comes with her order and a very rude waitress came over to tell me we cannot share food since I'm not doing all you can eat, I wonder if she is so blind that she cannot tell I'm heavily pregnant and cannot eat any sushi anyways! Will not come back here again, ridiculously cheap and rude place.

I, in fact, do not eat sushi at all. So I can't comment on the sushi other then the fact that everyone else at our table was happy with it. What i did eat, however, was everything else on the list that was not raw and I was highly impressed! My husband and I dinned here with my aunt, who was treating me for my birthday. This place was her suggestion and it was such a good call. We ordered from the "All You Can Eat" menu, and that it was. Some NON-SUSHI stand outs for me were: Seaweed salad Crispy calamari BBQ squid Anything from the Fry menu The coolest part about my dinning experience here was how they treat the birthday guests. They dim the lights in the dinning room (I thought the power went out) and the servers got together and did a brief but special happy birthday performance with music at our table and presented me with a delicious dessert from the menu. It was by far the best birthday performance at a restaurant I have ever witnessed. If birthdays are not your thing, thats okay. Give this place a try anyway. Its a great spot to get a lot of good food for a nice price.

Staff is extremely rude! My husband and I had been several times in the past and today we brought our children as well. They ordered separate meals from the "all you can eat" that my husband and I were having. Well my boys quickly finished their chicken and so we ordered them each a second dish. After waiting 15 minutes and still nothing my son wanted a piece of my food to eat. We were quickly reprimanded about no sharing and had to remind them we were still waiting for the simple chicken on a stick. 10 minutes later we got the chicken and I asked for the check- sure enough they tried to charge us twice for the "all you can eat" and pretended it was a mistake. Then to top things off my daughter needed to use the rest room and my husband and boys stayed at our table. Well they saw no problem what so ever but to bust the table with them still sitting there. They made it clear they didn't want us there and we are happy to share we will not be going back.

Stopped by at around 8:30pm with my boyfriend. We wanted to try another sushi place and a friend recommended Sushi Palace. We opted for the all you can eat for $22 per person (+- 1 dollar, I'm not 100% sure). We ended up order about 25 pieces of sashimi, 10 pcs of nigiri sushi, 3 rolls, 1 seaweed salad, 1 soup, 1 edamame. The food is okay - and quite cheap for sushi, I think about 20% cheaper than other places I've been to. Sushi isn't the super freshest of its kind, but I was content with what I got. I love the seaweed salad. The soup was good, even though I suspect a fair amount of MSG in there, judging on how much water I drank afterwards. Service: you just have to wave your arm frantically or speak up if you don't want to wait a looong time. I noticed that the price is quite decent for the a la carte menu as well. We probably will be back.

For All-You-Can-Eat sushi, this place is as good as it gets. I just docked it a star because I'm greedy and I wanted fresher sushi and faster order turnover time and All-You-Can-Drink as well. When we went, we were immediately seated. We ordered drinks then out came the write-on menus. We ate maybe three to four rounds? For appetizers, the seaweed spicy (both spicy and not) were incredible and I'd highly recommend. As for sushi, everyone has their own preference. A must order that I really recommend is the Edison and Yummy rolls. They will change your life. For dessert, their green tea ice cream doe! I had one of each. They were all good. Nom nom nom. Also, be ready to food coma for the rest of the day.

Oh wow, this was my first time here in over 2 years and it has changed - for the better! They have expanded and the seating is much more spacious and comfortable. The food itself has not changed but I did notice that the portions of the BBQ squid are more generous and they were amazingly accurate with our orders, as well! They don;t have the Sakura roll anymore but they do have the Somerset (crunchy spicy tuna covered with tuna & mango), which is very good. I would just go straight for the sashimi, though. The white tuna and pepper salmon are great, as is the eel. The pepper salmon is a new option and a flavorful, spicy twist on your usual salmon sashimi. It was incredibly fresh, too. Will be back more often now! Service was also very friendly and attentive. Plus, you have to love the 5 ice cream options!

The only reason I keep coming here is because of the selection and the price you pay for the all you can eat. It honestly cannot be beat. With that said, this place has its problems. The sushi is not fresh. While some rolls taste incredible, others leave a lot to be desired. The staff is rude and unaccommodating. I took family here one time and tried to ask for two menus to order from and the staff looked at me like I had three heads and told me that two menus were not allowed. WHY?! Isn't it the same as if I had ordered from one, and then another a few minutes after? The environment is crowded. Simply stated. You feel like a sardine. You definitely can't beat the hot and cold food selection at this place, and for the price it's worth coming back for. Just be aware that this is geared toward college students who may or may not know quality sushi from bad sushi.

For about 25 bucks a person (including tax and tip) you get all you can eat! That includes appitizers, soup, salads (the seaweed salad is delicious!), and (the most important part) SUSHI! Now it is all you can eat so expect that level of quality. They are pumping this stuff out. It's good but not great (the Whole Foods sushi is way better). I only go here in a group. We always have a great time and the service is great. The food comes out fast so come with an appetite.

Have been coming here for years. I always get the all you can eat option. Place is in great demand since I've been dining here. Got to love BYOB as well. Spicy Seaweed Salad and Gyozo are must haves. Chicken teriyaki and peppered salmon I order sometimes as well. Quality sushi establishment with good service and taste. Can't go wrong with any of their rolls with chefs who are respected in their craft.

This is my first Yelp review, and for good reason. If you like sushi there is no better deal than Sushi Palace. Great selection of delicious rolls, appetizers, and other dishes all you can eat for one price. The service has been nice and quick ever since their expansion too. Despite leaving New Jersey for the city I still crave Sushi Palace when I come back home.

Quick Review: - BYOD - Decent Service (Speak up or get the eye roll from the staff) - Price is right In the town on travel and glad I stopped in. Tons of college students and locals, but definitely a chill spot. I would go back.

This place is pretty good for unlimited sushi for only 20 bucks. Sushi is always fresh, also really good, and kitchen dishes are also pretty well made. Only thing is that sometimes they omit some of your orders because they think you might not be able to finish it. They also screw up the orders sometimes, but not often.

so, here's the deal: reservation or not, you'll wait for a table if you come during peak dinner hours most days. might be a 5-10minute wait, might be 50minutes+. you'll get seated by one of the frantic waitresses and be given a few pens and half-sheet paper menus. one menu has sushi and one has other stuff. - the sushi menu has sashimi, sushi, regular rolls/handrolls (tuna roll, sweet poato roll, cucumber roll, california roll, etc.), and special rolls (the edison roll and summer roll are yum) - the other menu has soups, salads (garden salads and seaweed salads- go for the spicy seaweed salad, it's addicting), teriyaki, tempura, udon, appetizers (shumai, gyoza, age tofu, etc), and dessert (ice cream, fruit) once filled out, one of the waitresses will grab the menus. someone will eventually return with food. it won't all come out at the same time. there will be plates everywhere. after you eat your first round, they'll give you new menus. repeat this process as much as you want. warning: they will charge you if you leave a lot of leftovers. how "a lot of leftovers" is quantified is a mystery. my suggestion: order a little at a time. sure, the waitresses will probably make you feel rushed, but don't let that stop you from doing ya' thing. you get a good variety of foods (perfect for indecisive eaters like me... i want a little of everything!) and an unlimited quantity of it, so don't expect this to be top-notch sushi. the sashimi cuts are pretty thick. the rolls are on the rice-heavy side. some of the appetizers aren't the greatest (like, why is there lumpia on the menu?). the udon is pretty salty. BUT, most of the food is pretty decent, and the fish is pretty fresh. oh, and it's a BYOB, so have a drank and relax. i've been here a dozen times or more, and i love sushi palace for what it is. the place loses stars for unpleasant service and for being a bit overpriced though.

it was all right. One of those Fuzho owned Japanese Chinese place. We came on a Friday for lunch and there was no wait at all for a table They give you a menu to write on what you want to order. Food took forever to come out. We tried their grilled calamari, fried calamari and their shrimp tempura and their spicy seaweed salad for appetizers. The grilled calamari was much better than the fried one. the fried was dried and hard. Spicy seaweed salad was decent and so was the shrimp tempura. We waited close to an hour for our plate of sushi/sashimi to come out, I guess we ordered too much and they usually bring every sushi/sashimi order out at once on a big plate. All the sushi tasted decent, rice could be a bit chewier, it was a bit on the soft side. Sashimi was decent. Overall just ok, nothing to go crazy about.

my bf and I went tonight. the food was great the service was horrific! the servers were full of negativity, dirty looks and were dismissive about addressing our simple requests " may I have a straw this one is broken". "can we have more ginger" "can we have low sodium soy" each of these simple requests was met with dirty looks and snide remarks. the worst was asking for the check having it brought to us only for another server to take it away my bf asked her to leave it because we were going to pay but she said no and told him I don't care if you want it. now we are fully aware of the policy of a surcharge if the all you can eat is not finished. however we had 3 pieces of one roll on our platter. it was so uncomfortable and nothing like we have experienced here. we have been patrons for a few years tonight was an extraordinarily horrible evening in hospitality from your staff.

Sushi Palace is amazing. Unlimited sushi that you get without leaving your seat. Perfect to go with a large group of friends. My personal favorite rolls are the spicy tuna, Edison, and Summer rolls. The kani salad is also one of my favorites! Definitely get the red bean ice cream if you go there, as well! I prefer the Princeton location over the Edison location because it's a lot more roomier. The sushi is always fresh! The only bad thing I'd have to say is that the service kind of sucks. In previous experiences, going with a large group often results in orders getting a little messed up. During busy hours, waitresses take a long time to get to you and barely ever come around to ask you if you need anything else. Totally understandable though cause when Sushi Palace gets busy, it's crazy! However despite the service, it's still one of my favorite sushi places! I drive all the way from Brooklyn just because the sushi is that good!

Still no contact from Sushi Palace management on my horrible experience. It makes me wonder if they even have a manager. People don't waste your time here, go to Masa Sushi and get better food and service

$20 AYCE AND BYOB!?!??! Hell yeah sign me up. This has become sort of a reunions tradition :) They take reservations, but you might have to wait a bit for your table to clear out. The food is a great deal for what you pay. The selection and quality are decent, and they also have other non-sushi eatables. Sometimes you have to put in a bit of effort to flag down a waittress. The servers aren't especialy attentive, but then again the place is quite large and constantly packed. And when you want to take a break, you can go outside to the rocking chairs that are in the plaza hehe. PS. Get the green tea ice cream over the red bean. It's not real red bean..

Die hard sushi can... First time at an all u can eat. What??? The spicy seaweed salad was killer, tempura good per ushe, but the sashimi was miniscule... I had to search it for it. Rolls were no. Spicy crab hand roll was da bomb. Yes I had to be carried out since I couldn't walk out but I'd stick to a traditional menu for some good ol sushi experience. Price was a steal... Go for the experience of ordering every item off the menu and being carried out!

If you come here on a weekend, see that the place is packed and there's a line out the door, and you ask how long the wait is, and they tell you "10 minutes" ... it's probably your own fault for believing such lies. Despite our (giant) group (of 15) making an 8pm reservation and not being seated until about 8:45, I will still certainly go back. Yes, the service is as surly as cute little Asian women can get. Yes, it may take awhile to get the food. But, all of the sushi and non-sushi items were great. And cheap. And plentiful. Stick to sashimi and nigiri so you don't overfill on rice, and enjoy. I also liked that I could order single pieces of my favorite tempura, and the seaweed salad was quite good.

All you can eat sushi! How can you go wrong? There are also plenty of non-sushi options as well. The rolls are hearty, everything is fresh, it's quite economical (for a sushi fan) and it's relatively quick. It's often very busy and full, so I recommend you make reservations.

Want to fill up with good sushi rice balls? This is the right place. I have been enjoying sushi for a few decades in many different cities, and countries. Never had I had to fill myself with so much rice to find some tiny pieces of seafood in a piece of sushi. As for the sashimi, what the menu says "1 piece" is really about the size of a quarter inch long, and transparently-thick. You will never have to worry about too much calories from the seafood because the rice will take up 60% of the sushi. And, you should be forewarned now to avoid embarrassment: finish your rice on the plate! The waitress sternly told my guests (if a reader called it an "insult", I would not object), "you ordered too much! If you don't finish these rice crumbs, we will charge you extra for each piece leftover." (We ordered 6 buffets ($140), which translated into two big plates--and I have the clean plates to show--no waste.) So, brace yourself if you want to fill up with the wonderful sushi rice (which indeed is perfectly prepared, not too hard and not too soft) but not sushi. Bon appetit.

Excellent food, excellent value for the money! Not Nobu, but worth the trip, and keeps us coming back. BYOB, which is a good thing. Good hot food as well for the sushi-shy.

First off if you love sushi this is the place to go when you're trying to eat a lot for a bang of your buck! I always start off with the spicy seaweed salad. It is just loaded with delicious crab, tempura flakes, sesame seeds.. It's fantastic. I always go for the special rolls when I order, I've basically tried everything at this point.. It's great! I've only ever had one complaint, one time the rice was overcooked. Other than that it has always been wonderful, I enjoy coming to sushi palace.

Bad sushi , worse service, killing flies while you eat, rude and uncleanliness is apparent throughout this establishment. Definitely not the same place when it first opened. Also overpriced IMO.

We happened to come across this restaurant a few ago. Their all you can eat sushi is a great deal! I also highly recommend the spicy seaweed salad it's delicious! I'be tried sushi at a number if restaurants in the Princeton Plainsboro East Windsor West Windsor and Monroe area. So far this place has been the best in freshness flavor and price.

Let me start off by saying that this place was one of my favorites for many years. The food was great, some sophisticated rolls, and some good quality fish. However after eating their lately with my father I thought wrong. Problem 1: food took way too long, service was not that great Problem 2: The fish had a prerot smell. Problem 3: The texture was off, the fish was a bit rubbery. Problem 4: after the dinner, my father and I became extremely sick with food poisoning. Overall I was upset and hope this place can improve.
