Located in the Embassy Suites hotel. It's the only restaurant/bar in the hotel. Limited menu. I had the Greek chicken sandwich which came with a side salad. Not bad. The service was decent, but there were only two other tables in there while I was there. There is a large private dining room if you're there on business with a bunch of colleagues. Reservations were not needed during the week. Attire was nice casual (jeans OK but not just rolling in from the pool attire).

I have stayed at the Embassy off and on many times over the past 5 years. The restaurant in the hotel recently hired a new chef who revamped the menu and dramatically improved the quality and appeal of the offerings. Item prices are moderate (except deserts, which tend to be pricey), and portions are sized for healthy appetites, but not excessive. I have tried most offerings at this point and found all of them very good. My favorites are the scallops and orecchiette, which was done perfectly with a white wine sauce, the filet au poivre (with a wonderful delicate pepper sauce), and the tuna which is prepared with sautéed vegetables au Provençal. My favorite desert is the Italian lemon cake. There is an eerily quiet dining room, which may get busier as word of the new menu gets out, or you can eat at the bar (or In room, of course). I met some interesting folks at the bar, and the bartenders, Amanda and Darlene take great care of the patrons who choose to eat and drink there. Overall, the new restaurant operation is top notch.

In the Embassy Suites Parsippany Hotel is only 1 restaurant called "The Bistecca."The menu is limited but very good. I was able to use the private room to have a small dinner party over Mother's Day weekend. The room itself was very charming with a warm country feel. It is a nice size and there is a private room used for parties and corporate events. The seating area directly to the right is where dinner and brunch is usually served. According to the manager this will no longer be opened to the public which I feel will be a mistake. They plan on using it strictly for parties and corporate events along with the room we were in. U might ask yourself, so where will the rest of families and travelers eat. The only place families will be able to dine is at the bar area with limited seating, or to get room service. There is a $4 delivery fee, and 20% room service charge plus tipping. The hotel guests would be better served by keeping the restaurant the way it is, and if there's a special corporate party then address it at that time or hold it outside weather permitting. My server was Darlene. She was very polite and through. Darlene answered all our questions and helped with menu suggestions. Darlene also worked at the complimentary Evening reception from 5:30-7:30p. All the servers do multiple jobs. Kyle checked in on us. He was responsible for setting up the room and making sure we were satisfied.( he did a lovely job.) Kyle also took our drink order. Theresa checked in on us too . She runs the bar for the restaurant also very courteous. Chef Peter prepared for my 1st course tomato & artichoke bruschetta with a reduced balsamic glaze. This was very good and the balsamic glaze gave it a nice balance of acid. I also tried their fried calamari with homemade marinara sauce. The calamari was light and crispy not overly breaded. The marinara was a great accompaniment. For my main dish I ordered the flat iron steak with a red wine reduction. It came with fingerling roasted potatoes and haricot verts with grape tomatoes . My steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. The red wine sauce really added to the taste of my steak .The fingerling potatoes and haricot verts were a delicious side.( I cleaned my plate.) We all ordered dessert. Out came a chocolate molton lava cake w/ french vanilla ice cream along with pina colada layered cake, cheesecake with fresh strawberries & whipped cream, and a 6 layer carrot cake. The desserts were amazing ! We shared all of them. I couldn't pick a favorite they were that good especially the piña colada cake. My sisterinlaw has eaten everything on the menu and she loved everything. I would like to see a few more choices on the menu along with mini versions for kids. Again, let me preface that everyone at Bistecca really went out of their way to make our dinner special. I read that people said it was expensive. Remember, this is a hotel restaurant that gets tons of business people so it's all relative. When I come back I would like to try the lamb. Chef Peter really did an awesome job...

Stayed at the Embassy Suites for 3 nites on a business trip in Morristown, NJ. Bistecca is the only sitdown full service restaurant in the hotel, which may explain why the menu is limited AND pricey. Nevertheless, here are the pros: 1) not busy at all...stayed at hotel from sunday to wednesday. 2) Staying at the hotel entitles you to one free drink per weekday nite - had the stella trois..no complaints here. 3) had the flat iron steak medium in red wine reduction...delicious!!! would give it 4*...but price point is ridiculous..didn't care in the end because company is picking up my meals :)

This place was terrible! It took them 10 minutes to greet us and seat us in an empty restaurant. There was no hostess. The waiter sat us and was inattentive and was not friendly at all. Poor service combined with the horrific meal made the experience one that I hope to forget sooner than later. I ordered lamb shank and they were all out of lamb shank :/ So then I ordered salmon, extra rare, and they bring out a salmon that has been so overcooked, dry and bland that I can't even force it down my throat. I informed the waiter and he offers to bring out another salmon. He comes back 5 minutes later only to tell me that there is no more salmon, so he offers ahi tuna instead. I accept his offer and wait for my meal as the rest of the table eats their food. Finally, he brings my meal to the table and what do I see??? Another overcooked salmon!!! WTH? I was extremely disappointed and irritated to say the least. Save your money and palate!

Bistecca restaurant is located inside the Embassy Suites hotel in Parsippany, NJ. It's not necessarily cheap, but if you're living in the hotel on an extended stay like I am, it's worth either going downstairs or ordering room service. I've tried most of the items off the menu (they offer large portions) and can recommend their salads, crispy calamari, pepper crusted steak, and pasta dishes.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
