Coming here was like getting smacked, punched in the stomach, and then stabbed repeatedly for an hour. for the tl;dr victims: STUPID people, meh food. Came here a few months ago with two other friends when it was relatively empty, and yet we still ended up waiting a few minutes for a table? Anyways, once we got seated, we got a rather...large..waitress who recited rather monotonously the specials, soups, whatever as if she had to sit down before her shift and spend fifteen minutes memorizing them. I ordered a pasta; my friends ordered salads and some clam chowder for us to share. So we expect some bread right? Ten minutes later after our order, we ask the waitress where it is, and she says that it actually needs five more minutes to bake. Uh, okay. Sure. Chowder comes soon, with two spoons and...plates? for three people? It was alright though...Anyways, we finished it and inquire again about the bread. "Five more minutes, sorry!" lady, I'm pretty sure you said five minutes ten minutes ago. I get served my pasta first, but my friends are still left hungry. A few more minutes pass and my friends make me eat. Tastes fattening as hell, just like food from the Cheesecake Factory (which it basically is) but again, otherwise okay. WHERE'S THE BREAD? "oops! I'll get that for you when I come back again." ..............................................uh okay. I realize that I'm....almost done eating......and nothing else has arrived yet. My friends ask where their food is along with the bread, and the waitress YET AGAIN goes whoops! She'll get it for us right now. About time, right? NOPE she doesn't come back and appeared to have vanished. My friend, irate at this point, grabs another waiter and tells him about our dilemma. He says he'll get our food and comes back with it quite a while later, but hey, at least he brought us something to eat! (including the bread) But, uh, it's been like an hour and we have something to do. So my friends are just gonna take home their food. Waitress nowhere in sight; some other person packs it for us surprisingly sufficiently. And we need to pay, except we're being ignored. I guess they don't want our money...? My friend finally gets someone to deal with us, and then they spend ten more minutes figuring out how to pay (and my friend's not an idiot). Our waitress comes back! And walks right past us as we're about to leave. Great. No tip for you.

Solid restaurant. The menu is enormous and there is something for everybody (from organic greens and chicken to burgers, pizza, pastas, tacos, etc.). The portions are huge so you will not leave hungry. Their salads are awesome and their house dressing (Roasted Tomato-Caramelized Onion Vinaigrette) is above average. All in all you can't beat it for a meal - regardless of what you're looking for. Desserts are also awesome here. This location in particular is cool because it's located directly next to the AMC theater in the Garden State Plaza so you can do an easy lunch/dinner-and-a-movie.

1st time there and I was very surprised. I had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich, a little small but good. Wife had the short rib grilled cheese also very good. Place was packed but service was fine and food was fresh. We will definitely return.

First 1 star review on yelp, here's why. Bad customer service, Food gets 4 stars, and our waiter gets 5 ---------- My friend had just been in a car accident and was walking with a crutch. To avoid attention we asked to sit outside. We are quite literaly the only ones outside. When we sat down at a table, the manager( not sure if she's the manager or not, shes skinny, small) came over to us and said we had to move because the person who's responsible for outside doesn't have this section... Does she not see a crutch, does she not see bandages...moving on. I say, well we'd like to sit here because the other section has sunlight beating down onto black metal which radiates with heat. Trying to let my friend feel as though this isn't about his leg. I give her an out, but She rudely insists, so my friend limps over to the other table. 15 minutes later we see her sit people in THE EXACT TABLE WE SAT IN EARLIER. That's when I got pissed. I DO NOT CARE IF IT'S NOT THIS PERSONS SECTION (btw, our server was great, service is always great, but this manager is ridiculous) this isn't the DMV. This is stupid beurocratic nonsense that people hate dealing with every day. You are not a government building, you are not the TSA. You are a grand lux cafe, you can afford some flexibility. People stop coming if you're too rigid. So we ate our whole meal with the sun beating down on us. Also, his crutch which was previously out of everyones' way was now in the way of those walking by. So that attention we were trying to avoid earlier, well we got more than we wanted. This made me feel even worse. What the hell grand lux. Dear manager, Terrible customer service. TERRIBLE. Always remember, it's not what you say, its how you say it. The way you said "you can't sit here" made you look rude. And then when you sat people in that very spot, you looked like a fool. I hope corporate sees this. Overall though, food was boilerplate, but tasty, and the drinks took the edge off the meal. Server, once again, was great. but this 1 star review is about customer service, not about the food.

I really enjoy their pork dish, flavor is unbelievable, drinks are good, however service is a bit rude and not very friendly, prices are pretty high, but I really enjoyed my meal.

Since it is owned by the people who own Cheesecake Factory, you kinda know what to expect. Even the decor is similar. We had about an hour wait for a table. (and we just read that they take reservations) My friends had been here before so they have had a lot of things. I ended up with a pasta dish (i think it is called pasta fresca). The menu is NOT as big as cheesecake's, which is good. My friends got the mongolian beef (I think) and the weiner schnitzel. Our server was really great too! One interesting thing here; some desserts have to be ordered in advance. We decided on the beignets which had an amazing dipping sauce (the white one, in case you want to try it). Portions are Cheesecake sized as are prices.

Located at the front of the Garden State Plaza (wait, where the hell is the "front" of this place, anyway?!) is Grand Lux Cafe. It's a huge mustard-colored building, you can't miss it. Anyway, this franchise restaurant is a side-project of Cheesecake Factory, and is pretty similar in many ways: first of all, the waiting time is unreal. The only time you can walk right in and get a table is on a Sunday afternoon, which is why the GSP is closed thanks to Bergen County's idiotic Blue Law which has been in effect since seemingly forever. As usual, parking sucks - this is one of the main entrances of the Garden State Plaza, after all. You'll have to either drive around for an hour and hope to find a spot that's at least 50 yards away, or give the parking deck a shot, and walk through the mall to get to the Grand Lux. The Grand Lux is a really cool looking place on the inside - there sure was a lot of interior design work done there. There's a huge bar that stocks anything you can imagine. The restaurant itself is very reminiscent of Cheesecake Factory, with a different menu, of course. There's one thing to note: the portion sizes are freaking huge. I ordered fish & chips, and literally got about 7 gigantic pieces of 6" long fish fillets, with a bag's worth of fries. If you go to the Grand Lux, bank on taking a lot of food home - they serve at least 4 portion sizes for each order. Price is comparable to Cheesecake Factory (in other words, it's not cheap). The food quality is great, though. It's definitely worth a visit, as long as you're willing to do a lot of sit-ups and cardio the day after.

If i could rate zero stars i would. First off this place is dirty. Glass is dirty and the quality control is poor. Managers there don't care and you can that everyone that works there share this careless feeling tiwards customers. Lucky for them they are located close to a amc movies so they get business. Dont eat there you will get sick. Go next door. There are several other choices. Joes american bar, capital grill, legal seafood, chilis.

Meh...as a huge fan of the Cheesecake Factory as well as the GLC in Vegas, I expected great food & decent service. I got not much of either. The hostess took us right away &, though the place was half empty, she tried to sit us in a tiny table literally on top of a couple! We asked for a booth instead, but were told to wait, literally standing in everyone's way, while she ran back to the desk to pick a spot for us. When we were finally seated, we waited easily 20 min for someone to approach our table to get us drinks! We were given the excuse that it was the point in the day that the staff switches shifts...really?! When we ordered, the food was ok at most (bland is an understatement). We left truly disappointed after a dinner that we were looking so forward to!

If you feel like you're in a faux Cheesecake Factory, you're not too far off. Grand Lux Cafe is a chain of restaurants owned by the Cheesecake Factory, hence the similarities. Anyway, the food here is okay, definitely different than your normal selection, but doesn't deliver much on taste. The appetizers are pretty fantastic, especially the "Appetizers for Two," or whatever they call it. This place is a little too expensive to be coming to often and the food isn't really worth many repeat visits. They make a pretty decent Sour Apple Martini on Monday (or Wednesday) nights, though.

Dirty. Dirty. Dirty. Grand Lux Cafe, has gone downhill from when it first opened. Yesterday, when dining there, the bottle of olive oil they put on the table so we could dip our bread in the oil, had a floating dead bug! Couldn't they see this before it was put on the tabe? Additionally, there was residual gunk at the bottom of the bottle! The manager, apologized and in the same breath said, he didn't know how anything could of gotten in the bottle of oil. These bottle caps are sealed tightly and stored in a cabinet. He, thought maybe some kid was playing around with it and dumped pepper into the bottle. As far as the bug he thought maybe the cap got loose and it just crawled into the oil. The manager thought it was some kind of fruit fly. Was this fact supposed to make me feel better? All I know is a bug should never have been in the bottle, nor, served to us for our dining pleasure. A bug is a bug. At least the bug wasn't a roach, however, that bottle of oil should of only had only olive oil and perhaps some sediment. I pointed this out when the replacement bottle of oil came to our table and it was clear. When eating the replacement basket of bread, I went to grab a slice and there was caked on tomato sauce on the bread! Nothing we were eating had tomato sauce, nor, were we at the table long enough for any sauce to "crust" over. Most of the time, I go at night to the Grand Lux Cafe. When we went yesterday it was in bright daylight. After, the bug incident and caked on tomato sauce on the bread, I looked around. The restaurant chairs were disgustingly filthy. They had greasy finger prints on the backs of the chairs and food encrusted in the fabric of the chairs. You could scrape the food off with a knife. To me, it was disgusting to see. I didn't even want to use the bathroom facilites for fear of what may be in there. The whole place just appeared dirty. The manager, treated us to dessert and espresso to make up for the olive oil incident. I don't eat dessert, so, I had a double espresso which had the froth but came luke warm. In my opinion, this restaurant is filthy and the management has slipped considerably. Can you imagine what you can't see that management gets away with? The food is just "ok" and is over priced. Grand Lux Cafe, has become a marginal experience at best.

Good appetizers, adequate entrees, below average desserts. One would think a place owned by Cheesecake Factory would have awesome dessert. The buffalo chicken roll app is awesome and they need to bring back the Kobe beef mini chili dog app. Beignets are a dry disappointment.

Gross. I cannot possibly believe all the positive reviews. Grand Lux Cafe isn't a restaurant, it's more of a humongous, impersonal food-output facility. The food is awfully average with an uncommon amount of salt. The menu is very extensive and includes dishes from all over the world, which means they can't possible all be fresh or made by cooks who know what they are doing. In order to make up for the lack of quality, they just bribe you with portions large enough to feed a third world country.

Surprisingly good. Nice variety of food that actually taste good. 2 steps up from your everyday eatery. Definitely a place to go when celebrating or date night.

  • Janet M.

Food is average. Service is average. The wait to be seated is painfully long (if you're planning on going after 8pm, forget about it) and its fairly expensive. Oh yeah, and you won't hear A WORD the person across the table from you is saying because its so loud. Is it better then eating at the food court in the mall? Possibly. But don't go out of your way.

  • Carmen O.

We waited at least an hour for our food. That's never acceptable.

I have been here many times for both lunch and dinner. It is my favorite at the Garden State Plaza especially when I see a movie at the AMC theater, which is adjacent to the Grand Lux. It is affiliated with the Cheesecake Factory. In fact you can order Cheesecake Factory desserts at the Grand Lux. I usually try to get a booth rather than a table. Three draft beers are available. The menu is quite expansive. The Grand Cobb Salad is a hugh salad that can be shared consisting of chicken, bacon, avocado, heirloom cherry tomatoes, maytag blue cheese and grated egg tossed in roasted tomato vinaigrette. The ahi tuna is also nicely prepared and of high sushi-grade quality. My favorite is the cajun shrimp jambalaya, sauteed with peppers, onions and tasso in a delicious spicy sauce and served with a round cake of white rice.

This restaurant reminds me of the Cheesecake Factory, but they are so much BETTER. All of the food & sauces are made in-house, everything tastes really fresh and We arrived on a Friday night at 7:00 PM and there was about an hour's wait so we strolled through the mall (they give you the little buzzer). We came back 45 minutes later to find that our name was already called, but no problem-o, the hostess bumped us up to the top spot and we were next to be called. I ordered the Chicken & Avocado salad that came with a citrus-honey dressing and peanut vinaigrette. I am declaring this one of the BEST salads I have ever had. The dressing is one of the best I've ever had and tasted freshly-whisked together. Really happy with it. The service was rather lackluster, our waitress took our order and then disappeared for a really long time (and also forgot about my lemons that I requested). I never mind when the food takes longer to prepare as long as it tastes as good as it does, but definitely wish she would've made her presence a tad more known.

Ehh.. The decor was the thing I enjoyed the most. The staff was friendly but I was really disappointed with the food. Nothing impressed me in terms of taste. I'm a huge burger fan and my best friend suggested we go because they were great..... I've had a better for much cheaper.

Gorgeous looking place - seriously. They could have served me cat food on toast and I wouldn't have noticed.

  • Rob A.

Similiar to the Cheesecake Factory (same parent company) the menu is huge and can be overwhelming if you don't know what you want. Since it's a mall location next to a movie theater, certain days/times it can be really packed. The service is decent and the cocktails are tasty. The food itself is good but it is a little pricey for the quality. You can easily spend the same amount at a private restaurant with much fresher ingredients.

This place started out great with high expectations when they 1st opened. I just walked out because they tried stuffing me in a tight area in the bar. I didn't drive 2hrs in traffic for that. The girl who seated me just took off & didn't care to ask if the table was ok. Damn shame since I used to take customers here. By the way there was plenty of tables opening up in the dining room where I was always seated prior to tonight.

As much as I love this place, I always find their menu to be a bit overwhelming. Be patient if you plan to dine here on the weekends since it is located at the mall. So get a jump start and look at the menu while you wait to be seated. I prefer to grab a seat at the bar. Everything on the menu are ginormous portions and food is good for a chain establishment. My all time favorite dessert is the New Orleans Beignets served warm with the 3 sauces (rasberry, chocolate, and Jack Daniel) but I always ask for all three to be the white Jack Daniel sauce. It is to die for and it's worth the wait. Large cocktail menu as well. Wait staff are tentative and friendly. Good vibe.

There's a crowd waiting to get in when it opened on a weekday, but we were seated right away. The macaroni appetizer is a perfect small size to nibble on while you wait for your food. The service seemed attentive but we asked for the dressing on the side, but instead we got extra dressing on the side with dressing in our salad. The grand luxe melt was a burger in between two thick slices of bread with the cheese on the outside. It was decent but too greasy to pick up with your hands. Using a fork and knife was difficult too because the cheese had hardened the bread. However, the enchiladas were delicious. They have a kick but lots of flavor. It comes with rice and beans.

Welcome to Grand Lux Cafe, The Cheesecake Factory's younger sibling with arguably similar decor and a smaller, more compact menu. Eh. Our experience was filled with lackluster service, mediocre food, and the most inefficient wait for a table i've ever experienced. Given our pre-movie food options, this seemed like a good one. Apparently, half the mall had the very same idea. Despite the gargantuan group of people waiting, we got a buzzer and were told it would be a 45-minute wait. No problem. We waited about 15 minutes, and saw a 2-seater table open up in an extremely visible, extremely duh area. As it remained unattended for the next 10 minutes, I went up and asked for a time update - which I expected to be based on what time I got there, how many people were in my party, and how many people were in front of me. I wasn't looking for an algorithm...but a mildly educated guess would have been nice. Instead, she told me "well, you got here at 7:10 and its been 25 minutes, so you have 20 more minutes until 7:55." I was unaware that the stated 45 minute wait-time was so precisely calculated that at exactly 7:55 I would be automagically ushered to a table. In reality, 45 minutes was a WAG and they had no idea how long it would be. Long story short, we waited an hour, people were seated (parties of 2, mind you) that got there way later than we did, and that "very duh" empty table for two I spoke of earlier...well, that finally got filled after half an hour. Once we were finally called for a table, they realized they brought us to the wrong one, and our actual table (not too far away) needed to be cleaned. Instead of telling us they made a mistake, they lied and said it would be just one moment and they needed to "fix something." We ended up standing right in the middle of two aisles of tables, waitstaff buzzing by, looking like idiots while they tried to find someone to clean the table. I would have much preferred 5 additional wait minutes over 5 minutes of standing in everyone's way. Anyways, we finally got seats. Ordered food. Our waiter forgot many of the things we asked for (dressing on the side, penne instead of linguini) because he was just too damn busy to remember any specifics. The food itself was actually pretty good, the portions are huge and everything was cooked and fresh - but would have been better had it come prepared correctly. Oh yeah, we got drinks too. My girlfriend added a shot of Malibu coconut rum to the drink she ordered (fruit juice based already,) which made it taste infinitely better. Too bad it wasn't quite a shot and they charged $8.00 for it - the same price as each of our drinks themselves. Worthless. Overall, their waiting system needs an overhaul, and they need to hire more waitstaff to accomodate a consistent flow of patrons. And charge much less for a semi-shot of non-top-shelf pretty standard flavored rum. Or at least make it an actually shot-sized.

I've never had good service here ever. Last night was my fourth time at this place and yet again.. terrible service. I don't have warts on my face or look like I have the plague, so I know it's not me. The one time I came really close to good service, the food came out terrible. Last night ordered the Asian nachos. Wasn't too hungry and the asian nachos are good here. Waiter never asked me what I wanted to drink - he asked other people in the party, but skipped me and went to get me water. Fine, I can understand that. We all ordered and waited for our food. Normally, they bring out some bread to munch on while waiting. No bread came out. When we asked, the waiter rushed into the kitchen to get some. Water was never refilled. Food came out. One person ordered a salad with dressing on the side. No dressing came out. The dressing came out a full two minutes after. Check was dropped on the table while we were still finishing our meals, after we declined dessert. In my previous experience, I ordered the enchiladas and they came out cold. The waiter apologized and brought out the manager. The manager offered to microwave it. Eventually, when I refused to eat it, the manager finally agreed to take it off the check. The food isn't bad (except for the cold enchiladas - I guess they microwave their food here) and I would give it 3 stars. But the service has just been so terrible, I rate this place 1 star overall.

Their food had gone down hill and they fired a couple really great servers and bartenders. Why did you have to mess up a good thing? Shame on you Grand Lux

Cheesecake Factory's Twin. I love this place, large portion sizes, good tasty comfort food, great desserts. I would say the only downfall is the long wait (but it's better than never crowded right?) Must get: 1. Asian nachos (duck sauce as salsa with sweet asian fried rice, cheese) 2. red velvet cake *Then you are all set.

  • Rach K.

Eh... The food is just so-so and the cute decor doesn't make up for that. My sister and I came here to grab a snack after watching a movie and shopping. We ordered the ahi ceviche, duck triangles, tortilla soup, and the goat cheese salad. Everything looked presentable and delicious but nothing wowed us in terms of taste. The ceviche was fresh but way too acidic (at least for my palate) and the soup was a bit too rich. The duck triangles were good, but nothing special and the goat cheese salad's lemon honey dressing tasted like ricola cough drops. Service was quick and friendly though and the restaurant is really clean so overall, it was a pretty pleasant experience. I mean, it's a restaurant in a mall; what other choices do you have?

Ever gone to a bakery and drooled at the cannolis they have in the display? The white cream filling that looks like it's abou to ooze out, the crispy shell that longs for a companion.. and so you go for the cannoli, knowing that it promises you the best dessert you'll have eaten in a long time.. and then.. DISAPPOINTMENT. this was akin to my experience at Grand Lux Cafe. the exterior of GL Cafe is GRAND to say the least. reminiscent of Cheesecake Factory in its "opulence".. LOL. sorry, couldn't keep the straight face. part of me feels like.. i should have known a place this cheesy in its decor, wouldn't have delivered. Anyway, yeah - this place puts on an impression of being upscale or trendy or whatever.. but it LACKS in service, food, and presentation! Bf and I were seated on a slightly busy Monday afternoon. Our booth's seats were a bit sticky, and there were food stains on our menu.. yum. Our waitress was being trained and was thus accompanied by another waitress. I usually don't mind these kinds of pairings, but here's what I figure- if there are two people waiting on ONE table, shouldn't that mean service will be attentive at the least? Not so much. Our average wait time was way longer than expected. For water? 10 minutes. Why!? For a martini? 25 minutes. The bread basket came with our appetizer, which is honestly the only thing i can rave about.. HOLYYYYYYY BUFFALO BITES!!!!! Think Cheesecake's Chicken Croquettes but with buffalo sauce.. OMG. Wish we'd just eaten four orders of these and called it a meal. Entrees.. came maybe 30 minutes after the appetizer. Why? I don't know and won't know because no one came out to check up on us. We ought to have just left enough for the drink and appetizer because the food was a bust. My bf got some chicken sandwich, which was mediocre and really dry.. And i got Green Chile Cornbread.. the cornbread was wayyyy too sweet, chicken was hard to find, and the green chile sauce was mild to say the least. I wasn't happy with our meal, service, and overall experience. I left tip with pursed lips and will only return for takeout- BUFFALO BITES!!!!!

Beautifully decorated with different details in all corners that u look. If I lived near one, I would certainly try more of their menu, however I tend to stick to their true, tried and tested chicken jumbabalya that I first discovered at thier Vegas location. The flavours of the chicken melt so well with the peppers, onions and spices. Served along side a healthy portion of fluffy jasmine rice is simply comfort away from home. Yum! Would have given higher stars if the portion size was as large as their Florida and Vegas locales, and if they didn't sit a misbehaved 2 yr old next to us when there were so many other open tables available. Not entirely the restaurants fault, but doesn't make for a pleasant dinning experience when food and utensils are being flung everywhere.

Nice ambience to be on a date. We shared three of their tapas, the three way salmon (salmon made three different ways...extremely delicious) and the chocolate molten lava cake and two sodas for 55 bucks. Fortunately for me, my date was cool about sharing (yea she is a keeper). We are both well fed (and I am a big dude) and happy. And AMC theater is right next door! Easy night out thats sure to satisfy if you have the right company!

Every month or so I crave this place! So on Sunday 6/14 I drove the 50 minutes it takes to get here. Love the "small plates" menu... Buffalo Bites are my favorite! Just be sure to ask for extra blue cheese if your a dipper like me....The Sunday Night Pasta is made with short rib! Need I say more?? Pot roast always tasty but the mashed potatoes tower on the plate & Brussels sprouts were underdone. Service was fair. The waitress seemed rushed every time she was at our table even though the restaurant was fairly slow. But, I left her 20 percent anyway because maybe she just wasn't having a great day.

It's a chain restaurant! What are you really expecting? They have a great happy hour which is really what I usually go to these places for. Try the typhoon and the Asian nachos. Venture off the happy hour menu at your own risk :-)

What a horrible experience my family and I had here the other night. It's a shame too, even though both managers and our waiter were nice and apologetic, it just does not excuse the bad service... It all started off okay, we placed our orders for the kids, asking for the kids' food first which arrived promptly (and must say the kid's mac and cheese was pretty yummy), but that's when service went downhill. - It took the waiter 20 minutes to swing back around to us to ask my wife and I what we wanted after delivering our kids food - We asked for bread multiple times and almost gave up on it when it finally came out of the 4th asking - I asked for medium rare, my steak came out well, well done (does 2 well wells equal charcoal bricks? In this case it does). - when the manager and waiter offered to replace it, took another 20 minutes for it to come out - overall spent 2 hours at this restaurant waiting on food - all the while, my drink was empty and never once refilled (I asked multiple times as well).

Huge portions that are delicious and worth paying for. Not expensive if you think about it, since it was fresh and delicious! I had the chicken piccata lunch special and it was huge!! Menu has many to choose from so if you're not sure what you're in the mood for it may be somewhat daunting. But no matter what you decide on it'll be delicious! The service was slightly slow but I Was hungry and it being Labor Day Monday people kept streaming in. At least there was warm sourdough bread served for the table prior to the food coming out. I didn't think I Would finish my dish but I did and didn't feel guilty about it! Recommended! The decor of the restaurant is really elegant and luxe! Haha Waitstaff is friendly. You can go shopping in the mall afterwards. What better way to spend a day then eating and shopping?!!

I'll definitely be coming back for their happy hour!!! I hadn't been here years, so my sister and I decide to go for late lunch. It was during their happy hour. Best happy hour, I've been to a few that I thought were the best but this one is better! Huge selection of apps and small plates/tapas. Small selection of drink specials but they all sounded delicious and well priced. We ordered 4 apps and two drinks. Drinks were great , the apps were scrumptious. Buffalo chicken egg rolls, Thai chicken and shrimp spring rolls, double cheddar sliders, and warm brie with dates and arugula mini pizza. These appetizers and small plates actually were a very decent amount of food. My drink was simply delcious it was a mango vodka drink, not too sweet but not too tart. The waitor was nice, attentive, and informative.

My boyfriend and I were craving very different things so we ended up here on a lazy Sunday night which was a great compromise. There's so much on the menu to choose from especially if you have a large party to please. I usually go with one of the pastas. This time I had the carbonara with chicken. It's a thin spaghetti in egg and cheese sauce with a lot of bacon toppings and chicken. Portions were large I had enough for three meals! My boyfriend ordered the salisbury steak which I thought was delicious although a tad salty. I love the strawberry lemonades here and we finished the meal with the creme brulee which was good. I would like to try the warm butter cake and beignets next for dessert next time. Service is always consistent and attentive.

We don't come here that often but when we do it doesn't disappoint. The entrees here are huge so you get what you pay for. We always leave with doggie bags. Oh and their sangria is one of the best I had if you like it a little more on the sweeter side!

Grand Lux Cafe is Cheesecake Factory's sister cafe. I've always loved Grand Lux more. I always get the Madeira chicken with some veggies and mash. It always hits the spot; has never disappointed. I'm sure there are 5 sticks of butter in it, but YOLO. And for dessert, we always get the beignets which we can't finish and bring home. The beignets are my favorite beignets since it's fluffier than the classic New Orleans beignets. This takes a while to make so we usually order it midway through the meal. Wait: It gets really crowded at times. Once we went at 9:30 and there was a 15 minute wait. If there are any seats open at the bar and the high bar tables, they are first come, first serve and the service is just as good!

I have a fondness for this place what can I say. Came here Sunday night (7/5) mainly because they close at 11 pm and by the time we left the house it was already 9:15pm. On our drive to Garden State Plaza (I'm old enough to remember when it was the "small" mall) we were treated to a local fireworks display. This was the main reason we elected to sit inside. The food and drinks were good as always (nothing spectacular but solid) the staff was clearly in their post 9pm Sunday night mode and when we needed a minute to decide what we wanted to order that turned into 10 minutes. Aside from an out of control shrieking child a few sections away the atmosphere was nice. If you have a small party would advise ordering apps from the tapas menu-you get a smaller portion instead of food for 8 (which may be what you want if their are 8 people or you are extremely hungry)

Grand Lux usually doesn't disappoint and I'm glad that my most recent experience still holds true to that!! An early saturday brunch was great. I made reservations earlier in the week, I always do, whether I expect it will be busy or not. Just to be safe. The mood of the restaurant is always serene, whether its brunch/lunch or dinner. I like that! I had my heart and mind set on the red velvet pancakes (I love all things red velvet). The portion size is always splendifurous! However, the taste lacked to the 10th power. I was turned off immediately when my plate was placed in front of me because my RED velvet pancakes were a funny orange/brownish looking color. Hmmm. Ok. I overlooked it and decided to at least try it, nope! They were rubbery and had a funky flavor. Meanwhile, my sister ordered the caramel banana french toast which was HUGE. I was so jealous lol it looked amazing and tasted even better. So i opted out of the pancakes & ordered the french toast instead. It was spectacular!!! The server was great. He was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, I am giving only 4 out of 5 stars because I was appalled at how incredibly filthy my silverware was INSIDE of the rolled up/folded napkin. It was just too obvious of a careless oversight. My sister and I have a habit of always checking our silverware whenever we sit down at a restaurant to see if its really clean. Sadly, mine had more than just the typical "water stains" you may usually see (thats what most servers will call it) smh I mean all of my utensils had this white clunky dried icing looking stuff on it. I was almost offended lol like seriously, I don't really care about the excuse of those type of things being washed or cleaned in mass production. Its a matter of public health and safely. These utensils go in our MOUTHS, they should be CLEAN!!!

Wow is all I can say. The decor is unlike any other and the service is always great and fast! And the food....wow - the food is great! The prices are also very good for what you get. The combination of flavors are savory and leaves you wanting more. Can easily have 2-3 course meal here for a great price. One of my go-to's for lunches with family and friends.

My bfs and my favorite restaurant!!! We had Natalia as a waitress and she was great- we always get the buffalo rolls as an app, they're so yummy!!! MY FAV! I had the catfish with brown rice it was super delicious - and my BF got the sliced steak sandwich which was really good.

Came here the other evening with my best friend and my boyfriend, it wasn't crowded and we were seated rite away in a nice booth. Our waiter was really nice and didn't make fun or call my best friend an alcoholic when she asked what the day of the drink was instead of the drink of the day lol. She ended up getting a dirty martini which she asked for extra dirty. That shit tasted like my childhood at the beach getting taken under by a unexpected wave couldn't get that salty taste out of my sinuses for the entire meal. My boyfriend and I made fun of her for enjoying the pacific ocean in a glass. For appetizers we ordered the buffalo chicken rolls which are like egg rolls but stuffed with buffalo chicken and fried to a golden crisp brown and served with blue cheese dressing they were amazing. My friend Angela ordered asian nachos which are crispy fried wontons covered with chicken in a sweet-hot peanut Sauce and topped with wasabi cream and melted cheese. I wasn't crazy about these well because I really hate peanut sauce so go figure. For dinner we ordered our entrees.. I ordered the chicken royal combination with shrimp scampi served with green beans and mashed potatoes. The chicken royal is probably my favorite thing on the menu. My boyfriend got the Mediterranean Mahi-Mahi which is crusted fresh Mahi Mahi with roasted tomato, artichoke, capers, basil, olive oil and balsamic vinegar and served over mashed potatoes. It was a little too tomatoey for our taste buds but he enjoyed it overall. My best friend ordered the gnocchi dish with some type of peas and cream sauce it was really good but very heavy. We didn't even bother ordering dessert we were so full. I'm already asking my boyfriend when he wants to go back for more of those buffalo chicken rolls. Overall the restaurant is always very clean and the staff is attentive and friendly would definitely come back.

Never going back there. Sat at a booth with 6 settings, all the forks were dirty. We asked the waitress to replace and she did so arrogantly without even offering an apology. We ordered 2 salads of which we found a hair in..gross! The manager came over apologized and didn't charge us for the meal but did o for our wine.

It's Cheesecake Factory's Sister restaurant. Same style of menu (a book), nearly identical decor and the only difference is their desserts. They are made to order and could take 30-45 minutes to prepare. Say what? The good news is they remind you a few times during the meal. Food is over seasoned but edible. Had a burger and it was eh. Fries needed a lot of work. Service was great. It was a weekday and we had a big party. Multiple servers helped out. It's in Paramus so parking stinks! Good happy hour deals from what I saw.

My family and I get together about every other month on a Sunday because GSP is midpoint for all of us. We see the first showing of a movie and then go to Grand Lux Cafe for lunch. Well after yesterday's visit, we will be getting in our car and going to a different restaurant near the mall because we were nothing but disappointed. Grand Lux is not what it used to be. Usually when you walk in you are greeted by happy hostesses ready, no eager, to sit you. Well yesterday, it was like we did something wrong as we requested a table; it wasn't even that crowded. As we walked through the crowds, I had to step aside for staff because they were nearly about to run me over. Last time I checked, I thought the staff was supposed to move for the patrons. Then we sat down to order. Our food took awhile and then when it came out, my fries were cold and I was missing a dipping sauce which then took 10 minutes to actually get. We were all unhappy with our meals. Something must be going on at this establishment because the staff is rude and the food is off when they used to be the exact opposite of both.

Brunch review: I love the outdoor seating and brunch options! The Banana Caramel French Toast was delicious. Freakin delicious. I also ordered a side of bacon and eggs, and the eggs were really really oily. I was surprised that the eggs were oilier than the bacon! I barely finished that. Service was good and prompt. Overall, the experience was nice. The staff was friendly, the place is clean... Nothing, but the eggs, to complain about.

This is our chosen restaurant for after-shopping dinner on Saturdays. We always start off with 2 or 3 appetizers - buffalo chicken rolls are amazing, and the chicken lettuce wrap isn't so bad either. I've tried the grilled chicken salad, which wasn't so shabby. The vegetables were fresh and chicken wasn't too dry. I usually get the Madeira Chicken or Chicken Parm as my main dish, and I prefer the Madeira. The mushroom and asparagus topped mashed potato with the madeira sauce is delicious. I love their mai tais, so we usually get one or two of those during dinner. We usually call ahead to get booth seating as this place gets packed for dinner, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. The bar area is great for when you're waiting and you just want to pass time by starting off with a refresher/app and/or a drink. The service is pretty standard - they come by and ask how you're doing and they'll wrap up any leftovers pretty tightly in microwavable packaging, which I appreciate dearly. The decor seems Vegas themed and the menu is pretty similar to Cheesecake Factory, just to give you some insight on what to expect. It's not too bright for dinner, which I prefer anyway. Love this place!

$60 Lunch for one?!! This was my first and last time at this place. I've wanted to try this place for the longest time. I'm leaving the NY Tri-State area soon so I thought I would have one last hurrah. Soo disappointing! Service: Bad service! My server was atrocious. It wasn't even crowded and it took forever for every little thing. The bus boy was the only person who did a great job. He was friendly and attentive. He should be running that place. He went above and beyond. Food: I ordered a mojito (horrible), potato spring rolls (okay), fried pickles (good), & spinach dip (meh). For dessert, I had the beignets (sigh). Overall, this place was a huge disappointment. It was a big waste of time and money.

I swore I reviewed this place before. Let me say, the staff is always awesome. They're always very friendly and polite. We stopped by here for a quick bite before seeing a movie. Found a high top table in the bar area and began. The food is alright. I mean, it's a higher end of Cheesecake Factory I think yet, I oddly prefer Cheesecake Factory's food. We got the mac & cheese skillet where sadly, the cheese was a bit watery. (NO) Brie wontons which were pretty good. Also, the ahi ceviche small plate, which my date loved. I thought it was alright. For two drinks (my date got the special and I got a glass of wine) and three small plates, it came to around $40, not too bad. I used to love the salmon 3 ways but rarely get time to order it as usually I'm only here if waiting for a film or right after watching a movie. We also came for brunch was and I got the chicken & waffles - meh, it was alright. The chicken was a bit dry. I will most likely still keep coming mostly because it's right next to the theater and it's nice to grab a glass of wine before you see your film if you have time to spend.

I like the variety that Grand Lux and Cheesecake offer. The portions are ridiculously large, but I don't necessarily mind that. I have gotten the lettuce wraps twice now and I still prefer Cheesecake's to GL's. I LOVE the Indochine Shrimp and Chicken dish as well as the Asian Nachos. The bread is OK, its like a wheat sour dough. I prefer Cheesecakes white and brown breads, especially with the balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Haven't tried the specialty drinks yet...only wine.

Great and fast service, decor and food. App: Pot roast cheese fries- pot roast is tender seasoned and delicious Entrees: Indochine shrimp and chicken- curry dish a bit sweet but portion is great and delicious if you like curry Royal chicken- buttery crusted chicken heaven No room for dessert but many are made to order, I definitely want to the creme brûlée or there multiple layered carrot or red velvet cakes.

Honestly I don't give 5 stars but the food is really good with a great variety to choose from. It tastes very fresh and the portions are huge. I enjoyed very good and very strong drinks (I hate when a place is stingy with their alcohol). In regards to food my best friend and I started off with the buffalo chicken wraps appetizer, then I had the Sunday special which is basically a pasta filled with different meats and we shared a rich strawberry cheesecake. I left with huge leftovers for the next day. I highly recommend.

It might be a chain but it is far superior to its cousin the Cheesecake Factory. Love that you can get a reservation and that they honor it. Lots to choose from on their menu. They recently trimmed the menu down and I am missing some of those small plates I used to get but I still love the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, the mini tacos (Asian Short Rib Tacos), duck triangles, warm goat cheese salad and Housemade Pierogies (which were better when they pared them with Short Ribs). The Miso Glazed Salmon and the Salmon three ways is always a wise choice for the fish lover. If your are looking for something lite to grab after a movie the Warm Brie and Dates Pizza is excellent but I would stay away from Ahi Ceviche they claim they give 2 oz of Ahi, well all I found was 2 small dices of Ahi and same went for the avocado, good thing it was only $7. The Caesar Salad is great too but make sure you ask them to chop it for you before they bring it to the table. If you love New Orleans and miss having Beignets then make sure you order these at the start of your meal, takes 30 minutes to make them but they are definitely worth the wait.

I used to love this place for happy hour. Good portions and good food. Portions still good, food not so much. Too expensive for what you get. The quality is lacking and the best thing about my visit today was the attentive service. Do not order the ahi ceviche!!!

  • N S.

Great food and fun atmosphere! It is packed on the weekends but is worth the wait- don't forget you can order food at the bar if the wait is too long. My favorite thing is to get a bunch of appetizers! Buffalo bites and the calamari are two of my favorites. The portions are huge! I usually do not have room for dessert, although the it looks beautiful.

  • Wai W.

Service was very attentive and felt personal. The food was OK the portions are pretty large. I read Thomas' review and agree that the food is nothing special other than the portion size. I did however enjoyed the New Orleans styled beignets which I have nevered tried previously. It was like a Chinese donut, the difference is the beignets is made with powder sugar. I will return to try the other dishes to either write them off or worth additional visits.

I'm consistently happy with the food at this place. The menu has a wide variety of dishes, they have great drinks and the desserts are fabulous. Today I ordered the bacon cheeseburger w sautéed onions cooked medium rare. Amazing - juicy and flavorful, cooked to perfection. It's hard to order a bad meal from this place. One of the best chains, I'm my humble opinion.

I came here with my family for dessert and we were very satisfied! I had a chocolate cake and it was cooked perfectly. I did not have to wait long to sit down and we sat at a very roomy table. I can't wait to have it again!

I absolutely love this place. My family and I are regulars here. The menu options are just endless and everything is very tasty. It's obvious that the cheesecake factory owns this place by the similarity in the menu items and in the interior design. My favorite dishes are: House Salad (lime dressing is one of a kind), Chicken Mozzarella Pasta (entree) and the Chocolate Molten Lava Cake and Strawberry Cheesecake (dessert). The portions are huge and everything is moderately priced. Seating is comfortable and service is always great. The place is huge but popular so the wait can get pretty long so I would recommend going during off-peak hours or attempting to make a reservation (I don't think they take reservations but perhaps this has finally changed).

Not a fan of the food at all but I come here for dessert all the time because it is literally the best! The food is terrible. If your hungry eat anywhere else and then definitely come back for dessert. If you insist on trying something to eat here, the duck isn't terrible. But other than that the food here is simply ordinary. If you are going to get dessert... Which you should, get the molten chocolate cake it is delicious. Perfect amount of vanilla icecream on the side that tastes like the purest flavour of vanilla and a few slices of strawberry for garnishment. No need to make a reservation because I have never had to wait more than ten fifteen minutes.

Delicious food, especially if you want to splurge. Extremely friendly staff and beautiful/relaxing atmosphere. Not too many healthy options. Lettuce wraps and delicious and plentiful. Portebello mushroom burger is tasty if you are a mushroom fan. Buffalo chicken bites appetizer are also delicious (again, if you want to splurge healthwise). Great to visit for a lunch date with friends.

First time here. The place is similar to cheesecake but with better food. The menu is huge so it took a while so we decided on a bunch of tapas and apps. Tacos, burgers, chicken bites and Mac and cheese. They defiantly do a good job with small portions for tapas which it's supposed to be! Lots of flavors in the tacos and everything with great. The server Shane was very attentive and information about the menu that was new evidently. Will defiantly be back when we are in the area again!

Nice ambience , very energetic atmosphere. Good for family dining. Food is good nothing out of the ordinary though. I'd still go back to eat because I like the grand look from the outside and inside the restaurant. I don't appreciate how our server picks up our glass of water from the top instead of grabbing it in the middle. Two waiters came to our table with food that was not ours. They're kind of confused I'll probably just stick to ordering the mini bites. Today We had filet mignon , rib eye steak and chicken fettuccine for our entree. Empanadas , calamari, Mac and cheese for starters and molten cake with ice cream for dessert .

Pleasantly surprised by this place. I was taken here last week by friends who insisted I had to go. The food here is very good, better quality than a lot of restaurants. The portions are huge so you'll definitely need a doggy bag. Lot of options for people with food allergies (vegetarian, gluten free, etc). The staff is good, too. Great teamwork, very friendly and professional, they take their job seriously and are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the menu. The waitress we had is one of the best servers I've had at a restaurant in recent memory. They really take care of people. The noise level is minimal and the booths offer a lot of privacy, so you won't get nudged by passersby or struggle to hear your friends. Definitely a great option for dates and business lunches.

Stopped in at the Grand Lux the other day with my wife for a late lunch. We have eaten here numerous times and the food is kind of middle of the road. My wife ordered the Greek salad and I have to say for $15, is was quite disappointing. You would think that this place would make a fantastic salad. We've tried their other salads and they weren't up to par either. I have to say, the burgers and some of the appetizers are excellent. Last but not least, the dessert menu is what earns the GL the fourth star on this review. You have to try the Beignet balls with the three sauces. You won't regret it. Stay away from the salads.

Grand Lux is a beautiful restaurant and so big! When it is nice out I love eating outside. It is so convenient since it is right next door to the movie theater and in the Garden State Mall. You definitely should make a reservation because it gets extremely packed because most people go eat there before a movie. The food is amazing - I totally recommend the calamari salad (yum!)

I've been here on two occasions but took my best friend for her Birthday!! The waiters name was John who was very pleasant who I learned grew up in Brooklyn! Very attentive to catering to our dining experience checking on "us" every few minutes...thanks John! Pictures say it all my Best Friend enjoyed it all...

Brunch here was meh-meh-meh. "Meh Deluxe" if you will. Disappointment. We both ordered an egg white omelet with mushrooms, artichokes, spinach, and cheese. The add-in's were not cooked into the egg...rather, the egg was fried in what seemed to be an inch of oil and the toppings were placed on top of the cooked egg. They folded the top of the egg over to make it LOOK like an omelet, but it was really a fried egg with toppings folded inside of it. I made a similar "omelet" when I was 19 years old because I had no clue about how to make one correctly. I was mocked by my friends (rightfully so!) so imagine my surprise when that same omelet visited me from the dead at Grand Lux Cafe. As if the omelet wasn't sad enough, the hash browns had zero flavor, and the bread for the table was as hard as the basket it was served in. Our Bloody Mary's were the only saving grace of this experience. An extra star because our server was nice. PASS!

We usually dine here after the movies which is right next to this place. If you were blindfolded and walked here you would think you are inside the Cheesecake factory. They are exactly the same style although this one seems like it belongs somewhere in Atlantic City based on the decor alone. Food here is decent, and the portions are huge. You can definitely get away with sharing a main dish between two people. Service is good and not rushed and they do have outside seating for the warmer months of the year. There is also a pretty big bar dining area where you can just sit and eat, even with kids if you don't want to wait for a table here. Sometimes the wait can be very lengthy depending on time of day and the bar area always seems to be available or 5 minute wait. The deserts here are excellent, however you need to order them when you sit down as they normally take up to 45 minutes to prepare. They were well worth it though so order them ahead of time and worst case take it home and enjoy with a cup of coffee.

This restaurant looks and feels like a hybrid of Cheesecake Factory and Vegas. It's a relatively large space with warm lighting and lots of booth seating. It's got a casual vibe and a nice bar area. The food was below average. I had the mahi with asparagus and mushroom sides. The mahi was so dry my jaw was seriously tired from chewing it. The mushroom was swimming in butter, which I usually dislike. However, it was welcomed today since I used the butter to help moisten the fish. The asparagus was simply steamed. It was not dressed at all, not even seasoned with salt and pepper. We also ordered the pizza and it was just ok. The crust tasted similar to Cosi bread but the cheese was a bit off. Just didn't have the right texture to it. The service was pretty bad as well. After being seated for 10 minutes, our waiter came by to bring us waters. We were never offered a bread basket, which we saw every other table received. We also didn't get any napkins. The waiter was rarely around, so I didn't get to order wine after I ordered my food. The waiter checked on us once when we were dining. Then again disappeared from our area until it was time for the check. Depending on what you order, the portions could be quite large. Looking at other tables, this tends to be just a big portion of spaghetti. But then, who wants a big portion of bad food? Anyway, between the sub par food and poor service, next time I'm going elsewhere.

This is our absolute go to restaurant! After a rocky start 8 years ago, they got some incredible management and made some serious changes that took them from mediocre to simply outstanding! They continue to keep the menu fresh by adding new dishes. As a matter of fact, one of their new salads I had today was the BEST salad I ever had (it took all my strength not to lick the large bowl!) They listen to their customers. Their servers are the friendliest, happiest we've frankly ever met. The front reception area can get busy, but the staff always greets with a big smile! We have many wonderful choices of places to go, but we love bringing friends and family here because we know the standards are top notch!! If you've been there before, give it another try- if you've never been there before, you will NOT be disappointed!

This place is always the most convenient when going to the movie theater next door. Food is okay, nothing crazy but good. Their portions are quite generous! We got the brie wontons - awesome!!! Calamari, fish and chips and jumbo shrimp, all good. We went with the beignets for dessert, they were good but after having the real deal at Cafe DuMonde in New Orleans nothing will ever top those. Good place to grab a bite, fave part is the dim lights for dinner!

It's great for a happy hour drink, but the food is mediocre and service is meh. Kinda reminds me of cheesecake factory...standard, semi-glitzy decor with nothing great standing behind it. Pass!

I'm always pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoy my meal at the Cheesecake Factory and now Grand Lux Cafe as well. The food is consistently well executed; seasoned perfectly with salt, fats, and acids. The service is always spectacular too. I've never had a bad meal at either restaurant; they have food service down to a science. Our server this past weekend Jarel was A+ ! He reccommended some of his favorites from the extensive menu including cocktails and dessert and was extremely attentive to our table thoughout the duration of our meal despite the place being packed on a Sat. night. I wanted to tell the manager how much we enjoyed the good service but I couldn't find him/her...Ah, I almost forgot! The food- I had a modern Cuban sandwich: your basic Cuban with the mustard & mayo replaced with an aioli, the pickles in the form of a pickle/jalapeno relish, and the ham swapped for a quality prosciutto. All of this was stacked on a crusty, buttered, toasted roll and served with a lightly dressed garden salad. My girlfriend had the bistro steak over polenta with brussel sprouts. The steak was cooked perfectly MR and was seasoned just right. The polenta was cheesy (in a good way), seasoned well with salt and butter, and topped off with a mushroom sauce. The brussel sprouts were carmelized and added a nice sweetness/freshness. We also began our meal with the short rib tacos. They were fresh grilled bulgolgi slices with cabbage, a chili infused aioli, and cilantro loaded into what I believe were house made-grilled to order corn tortillas. If I get hungry at GS Plaza again, I know where I'm going again

I tried this place out for happy hour once. Honestly, my favorite part was the decor... very colorful and bold where the tables/ booths are. The bar area is also nice. Dim lighting and lots of seating (bar, high tables and booths). Anyway, they have a pretty good happy hour I must admit. Happy Hour Drinks: I went with 2 friends and we ordered a bunch of drinks each - they have $5 cocktails during HH so we were trying to down as many as could before the special ended @6:30. Our waitress was awesome at bringing us a constant flow of drinks! She couldn't bring us more than 1 each at a time but she kept checking up on us and when we were near the end of one drink, she'd put in an order for the next! great service.. she knew just what we were there for. Happy Hour Food: The food is not bad. I tried the quesadillas off the HH menu. My friends got the nachos and spinach dip. The spinach dip wasn't great, a bit bland. The quesadillas were great though. All of the HH food is $5 each. I would definitely go back again.

American We were in this area and needed something quick and easy- there were a ton of choices in the area and this looked the most appealing so we popped in, We hit the bar area as it was just me and my buddy- and ran into the worst bartenders EVER. Apparently the one girl was in training but had the personality of lint. She never smiled, never came by after the initial welcome and we had to flag her down for more drinks. The guy who was training her was just as bad as he was not paying attention to her, the bar or anything else- it was if these two had no idea there were people waiting for them. We finally got his attention to order food and most of the order came out wrong - I believe I had a veggies as a dinner and 2 of the 4 choices were wrong - seriously that is 50% of the order- it wasn't like I was ordering ten different dishes. All in all we could not wait to get out. We were starving and that was about the only reason we waited - and your only reason to go in there. huge, crazy parking lot in front.

Maybe I'm in the minority but it's not ALWAYS about the food. Is the food at Grand Lux great? No. It's good and it's consistent. I actually think that sister restaurant Cheesecake Factory is slightly better. However, it's a really cool place to eat visually. I remember the first time I ate there it reminded me of a Disney restaurant. Very eclectic and quite pretty. The service is always pretty good, as well and the restaurant seems to be run efficiently. There's generally a wait but it's never excessive due, in no small part, to it's cavernous size. I eat there a few times a year and always enjoy it. It's a fun night and sometimes, thats all I really need.

I thought this was going to be like Cheesecake Factory, but it was a let down. It was crowded and had a long wait, yet there were tables open. Once we were seated we were handed sticky menus that desperately needed a wipe down. I had pulled pork that wasn't tasty and my friend had a twist on a grilled cheese that she didn't like. Our waitress was very overwhelmed and only came back to give us the check. Not a fan.

I had the pleasure of dining here and had the seared salmon with potatoes and asparagus in pea sauce. The meal was elegant and savory. I have never eaten a more perfectly prepared piece of salmon. Service was quick and efficient. My only complaint is the air is turned up a bit to high so it was quite chilly. I would recommend this restaurant for special occasions or just a night out when you want to treat yourself to a wonderfully prepared meal for a reasonable price. (Bring a sweater or request outdoor seating if you are the type to chill easily)

Service was actually great. Waiter really took care of us and made sure we're enjoying our food. I ordered a medium rare Kobe Burger but over cooked it. They were nice enough to bring me another pretty quickly. Manage was kind enough to approach me to apologize. So big plus! Kobe Burger was good, I don't want to say it's the best Kobe Burger because that was my first Kobe Burger that I ever tried. Calamari.. Whenever I hear that name I think of SQUID. If you want ONLY squid.. Don't ask for the GRAND Calamari. My opinion that Calamari should only be squid, not shrimp, zucchini, etc. however, experience was good.

Grand Lux Cafe presents a casual, and comfortable setting. The service is okay, and the food is good for the prices that they offer. The medium plate portions are more than enough for a full meal and the normal sized portions will leave you with enough to take away.

Food is excellent, drinks are generous, wait staff is pleasant and makes your experience a joy! We always start with an appy and the Sunday Pasta special. They are known for their generous portions! Highly recommend for a relaxing fun meal!

High end Friday's. The bar is nice. Too noisy for my taste. Staff isn't great. Are not attentive. Host and hostess are rude. Extremely noisy restaurant. The acoustics are some of the worst I've ever experienced. OVER PRICED. Odd dining room set up. I prefer to eat within a reasonable distance between other guests. It feels like a cafeteria.

I went dinner last night and the food was really good! But half way through my meal I realized there was a huge piece of glass in my food. I told the manager immediately and she walked off with the glass to tell the kitchen, and never came back. She comped my food and the appetizer but my coworker had to pay full price. I'm not sure if it was w liability issue that she never came back but I have never experienced such awful service. I have managed restaurants for 4 years and I was shocked. The waitress was great and her service was impeccable. I would never go back. The GM was awful.

A nice decor, good food, friendly service and good cocktails. Especially good are the asian nacho's. The mini pizza's are definitely large enough for someone who's not starving. The salads are not that awesome. Still need to try out the veggie burger.

I really hate to give this place such a bad review because it does have a warm and trendy atmosphere. However, the experience my boyfriend and I had when we came here the other night was just plain weird. We made reservations, but still had to wait. Then, when we were seated, our waitress, who was pretty aloof, never gave us bread. We didn't really care until she started giving bread to tables around us. I tried to stop her to ask her for a glass of water, but she cut us off and said something and returned with bread, and our food. I didn't want the bread, and I never got my water. It also didn't really help that my stomach felt quite unsettled for the rest of the night. Not really surprising, since there was a 1 inch long piece of metal in my salad the last time I went to the Cheesecake Factory. Meh.

The food and service are great, me and my husband absolute love this place, we call in advance for reservations so we won't have to wait for a table, the food is always fresh and delicious, I've never been disappointed, my favorite dish is Miso Salmon with mashed potatoes, this is the best Salmon ever I highly recommend this restaurant

The atmosphere and setting is beautiful and the service was great. My waiter replaced the food I didn't like at no charge...the only issue was the burger buns are very greasy and it makes them less enjoyable.

I have to say this place was great. But I was most impressed with our server. Natalia was AWESOME!!!. She recommended the perfect drinks and the best dishes. Most important she made my daughter feel special on her 21st birthday. Her customer service skill are above most servers I have ever encountered. THANK YOU !!!

Surprised to see such mixed reviews. Ive dined here many times and never had an issue with service or food. In my opinion Grand Lux is better than its sister operation the Cheesecake Factory. The menu is very extensive with a lot of gluten free options also. The drinks and cocktails are the best of any chain restaurant. The food is a step up from chain restaurants. The quality is goos as well as the taste. The portions also are enormous. Ive had a lot if menu items and really have nothing bad to say. Also their cheesecakes and desserts are great! On weekends it does get crowded and can be a bit too loud. Another downside can be being sat at the main isle. It offers little to no privacy and can be bad if your neighbors are too loud. Bottom line: its a great option for a chain restaurant. Cant go wrong with the drinks. Good food, nice decor, a bit loud.

Standard Cheesecake-esque Factory food. A large menu. The food's not good for you in any way but the quality is decent and I don't think I've had a disappointing meal there. My cousin did once get food poisoning (which was scary 'cause we both ordered the same meal). Overall, it's decent. It's good if you want to go out but not go too fancy. You know, think Cheesecake Factory.

Good food. Service sucked. Glad I didn't pay today. Seated right away on a busy Saturday Should have been a hint. Placed order. Meal came out in 15 minutes or less No rolls ? This is why I eat here hello? Drinks came seconds before our meal. She was a little busy with her total 3 tables I guess Starts opening the shades next to us and almost blinds us. Think maybe you could ask before you do that? Little Advance warning? Refilled our drinks once No dessert and takes another 10 minutes to get check. Would have given two stars had you bothered to just smile. Geez

This rating is based on the Grand Lux's Happy Hour. Grand Lux does not avidly advertise their happy hour on their website, but they do have one Monday-Friday from 4:00-6:30pm. You must tell the hostess that you are there for the happy hour and want to sit in the bar area to get the happy hour prices. Four of us spent $100 for 11 drinks and 7 appetizers. The prices are pretty hard to beat! Almost all the drinks are $5, which includes certain beers, wines, and mixed drinks like the Passion Fruit Margarita (delicious)! We ordered the brie bites, spinach and artichoke dip, empanadas, chicken quesadillas, fried calamari and two orders of Asian nachoes. We were expecting the Asian nachoes to be gross, but they were actually decent. That appetizer consisted of several large wanton circular chips with chicken peanut sauce, cheese, and scallions accompanied by rice. We really had a good time and on the cheap (making it even more enjoyable)!! Although I cannot speak for the regular menu and prices, the happy hour is worth it for a fun afternoon/evening.

Grand Lux is perfectly located in the garden state plaza right next to the movie theater. I usually at least stop in for a drink before the movie starts and sometimes get dinner as well. The last time I went here our server was great. He was friendly, helpful and patient. I ordered the pot roast which was delicious! My boyfriend got about 4 different small plates as his meal. We enjoyed everything. I will always return to grand lux. And try the chocolate cake, it's amazing!

We came here for an early brunch on a Saturday and the place was pretty empty; when we finished more patrons appeared. It's located in the Garden State Plaza, which is convenient for shoppers but I wouldn't go out of my way to come because the mall gets so crowded and it's remarkably difficult to get a parking spot unless you come earlier in the day (and not during the holidays). The interior felt like a souped up version of the Cheesecake Factory; the decor is OK but a little over the top. I had been here once before for a late-night snack. It's hard to mess up brunch -- and they didn't! I ordered the vegetarian omelette (3 eggs, spinach, mushrooms, onions, zucchini, cheese) with hash browns and it was good and very filling. They also brought out warm bread, which was nice. The waiter was very nice and professional. Final words: not jaw dropping but decent portions and a fine experience for a chain.

I have to give one star to post even though they don't deserve it. I've eaten eaten here before but only sat at the bar. Came in with our kids so we waited for a table. Another party was seated before us even though we were there before them. No big deal as the place was crowded but only a few minutes wait. For the table that is. Waitress took a while to come and even longer for drinks. Food looked thrown on the plate and reheated. Taste just ok. Took forever for waitress to get around to seeing if we needed more drinks. Had to call a manager over. Another waitress brought us one of the drinks and it was obvious she didn't want to. Thought about leaving a bad tip but settled on 15%. We normally give 20-25%. Just got home and my daughter has thrown up twice. The fettuccine Alfredo seemed a little thick to my husband and now we know why. Will never eat there again.

I wanted to like this restaurant, but after three visits and not being satisfied by the food each time, I'm giving up. Atmosphere is fun and never had a problem with service. But on my most recent visit I ordered the Kobe Salisbury Steak. It tasted just like meatloaf. I don't recall what I had my first two visits here, which speaks for itself. Maybe their desserts are better than their dinner food, but I'm not big on dessert. I guess third time is not a charm.

Garden State Plaza is my shopping mall, I have no idea why I never dine in Grand Luxe Cafe, it looks great from inside and outside, nice decor. Finally I got a chance to have lunch with my friend. It wasn't busy, I ordered a avocado salad w chicken which was ok, my friend just wanted to enjoy herself w latte and beignette a fried dough dessert. I love eating it in New Orleans while street musicians are playing jazz. It was a disappointment, the dessert was as if it was fried with fish next to it, bad smell. I am a fan of Cheesecake Factory but this place was missing something even though they carry the same menu.

Went here and for the first time I had a crap experience ...The food is always good but today the service just wasn't there....First off..we got hard stale bread which is a no no in my book, on top if the fact that we waited 20 minutes for bread, after asking for it several times. Then we waited forever to put our order in, when we did I told our waiter to put my daughters food in first (she's 17 months old), he said fine...Meanwhile we ordered the buffalo chicken rolls which were superb! Basically buffalo chicken in fylo dough, fried...DELICIOUSLY FATTENING!! My friend and I were having a late lunch so we both didn't want to each too much bc we knew we would have to go home to cook soon lol, so we tried to order small plates. We told our waiter this, and he suggested a few good salads to my friend. She ended up going with a regular sized Cobb salad ( that turned out to be more then massive) and a cream chicken soup. She got her salad and was like WTF this is huge and soon realized that she could of ordered the smaller version, but wasn't told by the waiter...ok so yea that sucks she ended up taking half home. She also asked for the avacado on the side and never got it. My daughter didn't get her mini pizza till about ten minutes after we got our meals and it was supposed to rushed. Then she couldn't eat it for at least another 5 minutes bc it was hot. I tasted it and the sauce was very sour. She was so fussy by the time she ate it I felt bad for her. Anyways I was annoyed to say the least. We also waited for refill on our drinks for a while. After our meal, the waiter must of realised that he fu**ed up bc he brought us over a free giant cookie. Oh and there was an old piece of rice lodged In my friends fork!!!! Mind u she had a salad.... Overall the food was good lost stars for horrible service, stale bread dirty fork and gross pizza. I will go back when my friend Allison is there being a waitress ....

Unfortunately I have to give a star here on here... Its valentines day and my wife wanted grand lux for take out .. What better to enjoy the same spot we went to for our wedding night dinner.... What a mistake.... I can't believe the portion size and meal that was literally throw together.. I am officially unsatisfied with this location and will suggest to others not to go here.. I also am show a picture of what a 30+ dollar meal cost..very unhappy with this dinner An update from last night....i will say though after eating the meal .. It wasn't bad at all.. I just am disappointed with the lack of care and small portion size that was given, I did however contact the management about this and we worked out a deal.. Overall I was just unhappy about how such an important day should be taken into consideration with the meal and quality of care to those whom takeout rather than eating in. I don't frain away from this spot , but please avoid taking out and sit down for a good meal...

Big doesn't always mean the best. I wish they spent more attention on their menu and the construction of the dishes than their interiors. A lot to improve on and guys - FYI. One might feel they are in a factory than a restaurant when in this place, would like to see less seating. Price becomes secondary when your food is of best taste & good quality.

Always been happy with the food here, been going for years, (I do miss the thai chicken pizza). The wait, even on busy nights is not always too long, and its super convenient being located right next to the movie theater.

Stopped in here for dinner after shopping this past weekend and had a great experience. It is really beautiful inside and matches the luxurious vibe of Garden State Plaza - in a word, it's opulent. The concept is supposed to be slightly more refined and with more international options than its sister restaurants, the Cheesecake Factory. I was pleasantly surprised that around 6pm on a Saturday night, there wasn't a wait for a table. Just like Cheesecake Factory, they have an enormous menu and portion sizes to match. I liked that they had a section of the menu for "medium sized" dishes, which was exactly what I wanted that night. I was bummed that they were out of my first choice, the Kobe meatballs, but was really happy with the Bistro steak. It came out perfectly seasoned and cooked medium rare, on top of a cheesy polenta bed, crispy brussels sprouts leaves, and a mushroom & red wine sauce. Texturally I thought this was a really well-composed dish and I finished the whole thing. The "medium sized" portion was perfect! Not gargantuan like many dishes at Cheesecake Factory. As an appetizer, we ordered the Asian short rib tacos. I could have eaten 2 orders of these things to myself, they were that delicious. You get three tacos in crispy shells, Korean style beef, kimchi, aioli and cilantro. HIGHLY recommend them! I thought their dessert concept was really interesting and unique - they make each one from scratch, so you need to let your server know if you want dessert about 30 minutes ahead of time. We weren't feeling dessert that night but as we were leaving, we caught a glimpse of the beignets and they looked divine. Next time I come here I miiiiight just have to calorically splurge on them... Also, in true Cheesecake style, the service was really on point. Our server went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and helped us navigate the lengthy menu without us even having to ask. All in all, a very pleasant and convenient dinner experience! I'm sure I'll be back.

I usually don't share my thoughts about a particular place until I visit it numerous times, but my experience here for the few times I've visited has been amazing. Although we went to check it out during closing hours of the mall, we waited maybe 5 minutes to be seated. On a Friday night. If you like the menu selection from Cheesecake Factory then you're definitely going to love this. Our server was awesome; patient, talkative, great (and honest) with the recommendations and overall great service from him. Drinks are pretty damn good too. I'm definitely going again next time I'm in the area and I recommend that you give it a try.

Kobe beef meatballs w/ creamy cheese polenta was good. I wish the polenta was a bit more cheesier still good though. As for the buffalo chicken rolls, I can live on those. They're so frickn good it's insane!!

Amazing service at the bar! Great happy hour Asian nachos are fantastic if you like peanut flavor. Happy hour drink selection is EH but the regular drinks are slammin! I don't really do entrees here although the soups are good , the appetizers are probably the best bet.. But then again I am the sharing kind of girl. Very clean, servers and bartenders are friendly and professional. Love coming here to visit Rufi he is amazing! Deserts are great! Hope you enjoy your visit as much as me!

Food is AMAZING. Everything I have tried is excellent . The reason I gave 3 stars is when I got here I waited 10-15 min for a bartender to show up and there was a big fat fruitfly in my water floating around . Those are the only 2 gripes , the service was good but if u get anything to drink here check your ice for flies.

This is our second visit, and both times have not disappointed us. The food is always delicious and presented beautifully. Diane did have to return a dish and the server gave us no trouble or questioned why... I had the salmon three waysand Diane had the chicken primavera which she enjoyed. The dish she had to return was to tough for her to chew due to surgery. We also had the ahi ceviche good stuff wish there was more ahi though.

I adore the Cheesecake Factory so I imagined this place would be as good since its the same operation. I have been to it once years ago when it was new for brunch and remember enjoying the meal. This time i was disappointed in everything from service to the food. I ordered a combo meal of the caramel chicken with a beef, the name, I cant remember. It was served with brown rice that was so undercooked it was still crunchy. I actually had a stomach ache that night and felt ill in the morning. My niece, a gluten and dairy free eater had a surprisingly large selection of gluten free foods and we specifically asked the waitress to be sure no dairy was used to cook the chicken sandwich she ordered. It was delivered with a big slice of melted cheese on top. By the time she received the new sandwich, the 8 of us were done with our meals. I wont go back for sure. skip this chain restaurant!!!

We just had a birthday brunch with 18 people - including 8 children - and the staff were excellent (2 waiters for such a large group made everything work quick and efficiently). They sat us with only 6 of the 18 guests and made sure we had orders in immediately for the kids. I can't say enough about how accommodating, kind, and understanding everyone at the restaurant were. We will certainly be back as will all our other guests! Oh, and the food was as good as always!

I love to dine out with my husband and go to new places but after reading the reviews for Grand Lux, I really should have trusted my gut. We went there tonight for dinner and were very disappointed. The only positive was getting seated quickly, other than that.. all downhill. Although it mimics the Cheesecake Factory, it does not compare. The decor is overdone, it is too loud, felt stuffy and just overall gave me ADHD. I felt like I could not even focus on a conversation with my husband because I was in sensory overload. On to the food. It was horrible. Doughy, chewy cold bread. Imitation "bang bang shrimp" that a local Chinese food joint could have done better and the cherry on top... over cooked, bad smelling mahi mahi with a side of under cooked broccoli. That disgusting dish was sent back immediately. I ended up eating a baked potato because I knew that was prob cooked somewhat well and could not give me food poisoning. Yes management took the item off our bill and offered to cook something else, but I was already grossed out and wanted to leave. Not going back, would not recommend.

Delicious meal start to finish. Nice portions. Great appetizers. Pot Roast Fries are fries topped with cheddar cheese sauce and pot roast which is now a favorite of mine. Eggplant Fritters also a great appetizer twist on Eggplant Parmesan. Madeira Chicken is actually same entree which is on the Cheesecake Factory menu prepared the same way and just as good. Makes sense since they are owned by the Cheesecake Factory. Would definitely recommend if you are in the mall and in the mood for a nice sit down meal.

I went here on March 15, 2013 and had a delightful experience. The interior has a old french/italian decor similar to the cheesecake factory. We did not wait long approximately 5 mins with 3 groups in front. Another yelper and I promptly seated in a non congested area. For appetizers we tried out the cerviche and calamari. The calamari breaded dough was airy and easily crumbled when attempting to dip it in the marinara. The cerviche was tarty and the chips lightly salted. Then I had the filet mignon and it was approximately 10 ounces and comes with mash and spinach. It was soft and cuts well as a kobe. It was a good time. Down side. Steaks does not say the sizes or ounces. The menu is huge that spend a couple of minutes to look over.

Came here recently for there dessert. If you have eaten at a cheesecake factory they have a identical style and feel. It is a bit over priced, and a bit generic. We ordered: 1) Chocolate lava cakes served with ice cream: The cake is self is delicious, but very very sweet. The ice cream compliments the cake well. I would suggest to share this between 2 people. 2) Warm apple pie served with ice cream: I didn't really taste much of the apple in the apple pie. It tasted more like a crust of an apple pie. This is also big enough to share for 2. 3) Beignets: I have never heard of this dessert before, but it pretty much is just lightly fried dough bread served with a variety of dipping sauce. This is also nice to share among a group of people. Overall I thought their dessert tasted good, and was not disappointed. But I would probably exhaust all my other dessert options before coming back here again. Enjoy!

Okay! This is one of my favorite (casual)restaurants especially when it's happy hour(4p-6p daily Mon-Fri)! Great drinks and appetizers less than $10 bucks. The spinach dip rocks! It's the sister restaurant of The Cheesecake Factory, but it's way better not unless you have to have cheesecake. They have an awesome brunch on Sat/Sun. The pancakes are huge and my boo and I end up sharing them. It's a great place to go to especially if you just started dating.

While this place is similar to cheesecake factory, I have to say, I like cheesecake factory better. Went during their "happy hour," select cocktails and apps $5. I had the mango margarita, which was pretty much all fruit juice, but was to be expected for the $5 price. After that, I switched to a full priced pear martini, which was very good and much stronger. Had the southwest salad for dinner, which was just OK. I like cheesecake's version better.

Huge menu; lots of options. A bit pricey, but the bread and food have been good every time I've gone. Also not a bad spot to stop in and have some drinks at before seeing a movie (The AMC Theater in the mall is next door).

I had been going to Grand Lux for a while, and never had a problem there. My food (always their veggie burger, which is handmade and has farro, beans, and vegetables in it) always arrived hot, the service was always pretty good (at least decent), and there was never a time where I thought, "I never should have come here." However, the past few times that I have come, I have an entirely different opinion. The first bad experience I had was when I came with a friend on a Sunday at 1 p.m. I thought we'd have to wait for a while, but we were seated immediately, which I thought was promising. Unfortunately, this was false hope, because we proceeded to sit for over fifteen minutes before we received menus or even spoke to a server. When the server did come, she dropped the menus on the table and then walked off. When she resurfaced another twenty minutes later, we asked if we could get bread for the table after we ordered. As soon as we said, "Would it be possible to get bread after..." she disappeared AGAIN. Another ten minutes went by and she came to take our order (no bread). I ordered the veggie burger with the salad instead of fries, and my friend got the veggie burger with fries. Both of ours came out twenty minutes later (this was stretching into a long ass brunch - luckily I enjoyed her company!), and mine had fries instead of the salad. I'm really not one to complain, but I was so annoyed by waiting so long, not having drink orders taken, never receiving bread, etc. that I was about to ask if I could send the fries back and receive the salad... but our waitress pulled her disappearing act again (which was pretty impressive - I think she's in the wrong career because she'd make a goldmine as an escape artist). I ate the burger and left the fries in childish protest, and was going to (semi-nicely) bring this up when she came to ask how our food was. Unfortunately, I never got my bitchy moment because she never came to ask how everything was. Instead, the bus boy came to clear our plates and that was that. She did resurface to ask if we wanted dessert and/or coffee (no, thank you, I don't want to be here for 45 more hours). Only when she dropped the check was she attentive - she came back three times to see if we were ready to pay, which was pretty amazing because I didn't think she had that in her. We still tipped 20%, because maybe she was having an off day, but I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. I figured that everywhere has their bad days, but the next two trips that I took to Grand Lux were equally disappointing in both food and service. i'll be finding somewhere new for happy hour and will be perfecting my veggie burger recipe at home, because Grand Lux is just not worth the hassle anymore.

YUM, basically the cheesecake factory in disguise. Great for a chain, I don't care what anyone says. AWESOME cosmos, so cold that ice chips form at the top. The desserts are almost too good. Try the bread pudding or chocolate cake.

First off, this place is the sister restaurant to Cheesecake Factory. CF menu is larger but a bunch of the same dishes. Secondly, you dont come here for a 5 star meal, its a chain people. So for all the people who give this place bad reviews, I seriously dont know why they would expect some 5 star meal. Or you are just one of those annoying, pain in the ass people snobs who think they cant be served anything less than a 5 star meal. To those people, GFY!!! You can tell who the douchebags are with their unrealistic expectations of a place when you read about 95% of good reviews and 5% of bad ones. That should tell you something right there! Obviously its not the 95% that are wrong. The place is big, its decorated nicely and when your there you dont feel like your in a mall. Anyways, the food here is good and always consistant. The best appetizer on the menu is the Asian Nachos. They are so good and you can just sit there and keep eating those. The portions here are big so you wont leave hungry, thats for sure. The locations is prime, especially if you want to catch a movie before or after you eat. I have been here a million times, and not once have had any issue with the food or service. The servers are very friendly. This place gets very crowded, especially if you come at any peak time, but they do take reservations. CF does not so it really comes in handy. The bread on the table is always good, and yes they give you sourdough bread which is the greatest bread ever! When I dont feel like trying something new, I always fall back on one of my two main dishes, the crispy caramel chicken or the chicken madeira. Again, its a chain restaurant, but the look and feel of it doesnt feel that way. When you want something to eat and your nearby and cant decide, stop here. Keep it up GLC!

Owned by same company as Cheesecake factory. Have been here multiple times and remain unimpressed. They have lunch specials which are nice such as a soup and salad. A lunch portion of pasta and a salad, a lunch portion of chicken and salad, etc. Prices are moderate about 12 dollars for lunch specials. Our waitress we had was actually quite annoying. I think she was trying to be nice, but ended up just being so obnoxious I wish she would just stop talking. Also they sat us right on top of another party of people. In fact everyone was on top of each other despite multiple empty tables. I know they do this for ease of waitressing, but the tables were so close together it was like dining with strangers. For the food, it's always just okay in my book. I had the lunch pasta fresca which is basically TONS of garlic, eggplant, olives (couldn't taste), broccoli, squash and pasta. That came with a small side salad. There was so much garlic on this dish it became unbearable and I am a garlic lover. My mother got the bento box which was a steak au povre . It was a joke how small a portion of steak came out. It was the laughing stock of the table in fact and that was the most expensive dish ordered. Despite saying being served with a vegetable, it came with fries. Never on my list of places I want to go to eat. Only mediocre at best. Would not recommend.

i have never been disappointed by any meal i've gotten here. the portions are large, and you can get a steal during happy hour. it's great that it's so convenient at the mall as well! i recommend the asian nachos.

Could have been 3 stars because 6 people in my party of 8 enjoyed their food. We 3 walked in and no one of the 3 employees behind the counter greeted us so we just kept going to meet the table- 10 mins for a waitress to appear and take drink order. Coffee showed up 10 mins later.. We didn't bother w/ appys because of that - your lose. I think the waitress was trying to warn me off the lettuce wraps- I should've picked up on the clue as they were mediocre.. No nice butter lettuce, a ground up bowl of stuff and wasabi mustard? and hunan sauce...not worth 11.50. Hamburgers looked good and cheesecake very nice. It was freezing in there and I told the waitress. She stated that since she is running around she's comfortable and moved on..we did laugh aloud at that. Later we asked for the air conditioning to be turned down and she explained that the system was new and blah blah. Wow! go tell your boss we're cold. I had to ask someone to get waitress twice and we were at least an hr longer than necessary. She was sweet but service not very good, spotty. It appears very disorganized - dropped plates and 2 waitresses running into each other and shattering a glass Plus a lady started sweeping the floor all around us while we ate- I HATE THAT! I would have grabbed a mgr but it was a graduation/birthday dinner and didn't want to let on that I was so disappointed. Not worth the more than 200 bucks I dropped there- will not pick you again for family dinner.

We came here out of desperation from my boyfriend's grumbling stomach. As the sister restaurant to the Cheesecake factory, chances are if you like Cheesecake Factories, you'll like the Grand Lux Cafe. I have only a lukewarm impression of Cheesecake Factory. I loved our app, Asian short rib tacos. The braised short rib was tender, and very well seasoned and went perfectly with the crisp vegetables and shell. My burger was pretty good...but nothing special. It was too big for me to eat, with a small side salad next to it. The meat was a little salty for my liking, but I don't eat at places like this often. The salad was really quite small, and just greens. The dressing was OK. Our waitress wasn't terrible, but she was far from the best waitress we've had. She passed by us a few times when we had empty drink glasses, or stuff that needed to be cleared off from our tiny table. The two tables next two us were served by a different person who seemed to be quite a lot more attentive. I don't think I'd go back. The food wasn't really that special. The apps were a bit creative, but other than that, it's pretty standard fare.

ive been spending a lot of time in the mall and have come here a couple times for lunch. Solid food everytime, nice decor and usually pretty decent service although i do enjoy cheesecake factory more.

Went to grand lux for happy hour on a Friday... Great happy hour spot.. A lot of choices for apps and reasonable.. Selection for beers is very small.. Would be nice if they had craft beers to choose from.. We always get the same apps.... Asian nachos, short rib tacos and buffalo rolls in my opinion are the best apps on the menu.. We also had tuna ceviche, sliders, double stuffed potatoes spring rolls and pot roast cheese fries!! Great way to end the work week!!!

We stopped by on on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. The food was pretty good (calamari, miso salmon, shrimp bento box and cheeseburger sliders for the kids) but service was pretty slow. The bento box was HUGE and could have easily been shared between two people (see photos). Side note: It was nice that they had something other than crayons for the kids; they gave out waxy bendy sticks which can be bent to form different things. It kept my 4 and 6 year old entertained for a little bit.

I End up coming here a few times per year against my will because my girlfriend loves their chicken salad sandwich. The regular plain old stuff (burger, pizza, appetizers, etc.) is not bad but nothing special. Anytime I've ordered something I thought should be amazing either made me sick or tasted mediocre at best. If you're in the mall and dont want fast food just eat here but don't expect anything special. It is nice inside and the service is decent.

I like to go here before or after a movie at the AMC theater, but every time I do go here, there's always a long wait and I have to fight my way to get to the bar. The place is huge, yet the bar has maybe 10-12 seats at best, not including the high top tables, which are first come, first serve. That said, this location is in the Garden State Plaza, so it's to be expected. Along those lines, parking is always an issue. The food, the menu, and the ambiance are pretty much an exact replica of the Cheesecake Factory. They even sell Cheesecake Factory cheesecake, although they only have about 4 options as opposed to the wide variety you would get at the Cheesecake Factory itself. My favorite thing about this place is the happy hour. I think drafts are 3 or 4 dollars and they have some pretty decent reduced price appetizers. The wings are also pretty good, and the pasta carbonara is surprisingly not too bad, but I wouldn't get as adventurous as the Grand Luxe is creative. Asian tacos, for example. Bad idea, bad taste. Bottom line ... go here for happy hour before or after a movie.

I was shocked when I walked in on a Saturday night around 8pm and was sat immediately. The restaurant was pretty full but not 100% which I was happy about since I hate waiting when I'm hungry. I started with humus which was very good. I wasn't in the mood for anything heavy and decided to go with the Sonoma salad which was a huge portion and very tasty. I wish I lived closer and could come back more often.

the place looks good. the food is ok, not great , nothing impressive. I ate a burger ... it was medium cooked as i asked . at the beginning they had some bread with butter ... the bread was really hard .. couldn't eat it.

I would really give it 3 1/2 stars, leaning towards four. It looks rather fancy, and yet the prices are far more reasonable than one would expect. We enjoyed a nice dinner here before catching a movie. Wait staff was very pleasant and attentive. Food was good. I don't find myself clamoring to return, but it is certainly worth a try, we had a pleasant, enjoyable meal there and would go back.

It has been at least a decade since I walked out of a restaurant ... but tonight was the night. We had a short time frame to grab a quick bite before a movie. Our very nice waitress recommended that we order appetizers if we wanted to get out of there in 30-35 minutes. We ordered immediately and then waited and waited. She finally delivered my cocktail and I noticed something suspicious in it. I grabbed my spoon and fished around the margarita and pulled out a small bug with little legs! I didn't freak out. I simply had someone track down my waitress and told her what I found and to get me new drink - without the bug this time. She was very apologetic and said she'd send the manager over right away. My wife asked where our food was since we ordered over 20 minutes ago. The waitress said it must be about to come out because she entered the order right after we placed it. She stopped back about five minutes later to ask if the manager had been over yet. Nope. Nor had our food appeared. Thirty minutes after ordering, with no manager in sight and no food in sight, we got up and walked out. This place doesn't deserve our business. If you can't get appetizers to the table in less than 30 minutes, you should not be in business. If you can't serve drinks or food without bugs in them, you should close up shop.

between sandwiches, burgers, pasta, salads and many others things. I chose a burger and I loved it! The dishes are very generous. And the waitress was friendly and the place is very cozy. Located in the mall, the restaurant is a place highly recommended!

3.5 stars for lunch- we are Cheesecake Factory fans as it's good for the family. This place is very much like cheesecake. You walk in looks nice got seated in 10mins. Server was attentive and nice. Food portions are huge. We ordered lunch menus which are well priced around 13. Before 5pm and still took home doggie bags. 2 adults 2 kids with a 1/2 price drink special 58. Dinner menu was a bit expensive and plate too large. Enjoyed the food 3.5 stars come before 5pm Great service

I absolutely love this restaurant. When I first starting coming here I mostly came to eat but now I mostly JUST for the bar. If you want the best tasting martini around go with the Tahitian Pineapple Martini. It presented to you with a big chunk of pineapple as a garnish and you can drink these babies down no problem! Just enough juice and liquor. 5 stars JUST for this drink. Also, the bartenders are always so friendly and I have never felt rushed. The bar is always clean and your glass is never empty longer than a few minutes before you are tended to. The presentation of the bar itself is beautiful. I love sitting at the bar for that reason alone. The chicken pot pie is delicious as well. I usually come on Sunday late AM or early afternoon and I never have a problem with wait time.

Thought Experiment! If Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen had a child together, what would it be like? I don't mean physically (Although that is a bit disturbing) but emotionally, developmentally? Would it have the IQ of Caribou Barbie herself Sarah Palin? Would it grow up having an ego the size of Mount Rushmore? Or perhaps by the grace of God, would it spontaneously combust from such an exaggerated sense of its own self importance that it makes you wonder what all the hype was about? That brings me to my review of the Grand Lux Café: I mention this because like the aforementioned thought experiment, the Grand Lux Café suffers from what I like to call unjustified narcissism. The Grand Lux Café comes across as if you are walking into a palace and there will be virgins waiting for you to give you grapes and well use your imagination LOL. Many people come here after going to the movies or wanting to escape the mall and think they are walking into a feast fit for a king. Well it's more court jester than king. Here's the breakdown Food: 3 Stars: To be fair, the hummus I had was good. But it was WAY TOO MUCH for an appetizer. I literally couldn't finish it and took back my dinner order. The Pasta Pomodoro dish was pretty good but it was heavier than I expected and had way too much cheese for what is supposed to be a light dish. Service: 0 stars: The waitresses I have encountered here are very snotty and come across like cultural elitists, as if you are some peasant who doesn't understand food. The first time I came here I tried the Hummus. When I ordered the Hummus she looked at me derisively as if I had to max out a credit card to enjoy myself here. Huge turn off. The second time I came here, I ordered a pasta dish and when it took longer than expected, I politely asked if my food will be coming out soon and she said "It will get here when it gets here" It took every ounce of self-control I had to prevent myself from dropping an expletive-laden tirade that would have made Charlie Sheen blush LOL. I gave her a penny for a tip though so I got the last laugh. Atmosphere: 2 Stars: The intro sort of sums up my feelings on the atmosphere but overall, this place is extremely gaudy and pretentious. They have very high ceilings and use some fake decorative paneling to make you thinking its marble and gold plated when it's not. It's tacky at best. Conclusion: "Vanity is definitely my favorite sin"- Al Pacino "The Devil's advocate" I usually give 2 stars to a place with decent food and bad service, but the awful service and gaudiness prevents me from doing that. This place suffers from vanity mixed with narcissism. It is a 1 disguised as a 10. They think its Beverly Hills; it's more like the Beverly Hillbillies.

Good food and great to make a reservation if you have a large party. Only complaint I had while I was here with this large party was the waitress. One of the people in the party ordered a dessert that came out well after all of the entrees...but the manager on duty at the time cleared up any issue we had with that! Definitely a great place to go for a Sunday brunch.

I love Grand Lux Cafe. The interior is gorgeous and you can always here the piped in music which is always a great mix. Love the selection and quality of food. I never had any complaints about Grand Lux until today. I love Korean food and I haven't had any in almost a year so because of this I ordered the ASIAN SHORT RIBS TACO'S Three soft shell taco's w/ marinated Kobe beef, house made Kimchi and spicy aioli. The beef was a bit chewy and please Grand Lux don't write that you use a special house made Kim Chi...it was nothing than shaved green regular cabbage without any dressing or marinade whatsoever. Kimchi is fermented NAPA cabbage in an undeniable mixture of garlic, ginger, sugar red pepper flakes, diakon radish, scallion and fish sauce. When I told the waiter that it was very disappointing and nothing more than shaved plain green cabbage he said oh you see how early the prep cooks come in to prep all the food items on the menu....really? If you can't throw these ingredients together and put it in the walk in to ferment or if the prep cooks are that "over worked" than don't put it on the menu. It's not Peking Duck...its' just Kimchi ---cabbage with a dressing. Shaved undressed green cabbage is false representation.

I've been here about 20 times now. Service is very hit or miss depending on who you get but they have good happy hour deals and I like their small plates l- my favorites are mini chicken and fish tacos, Mac and cheese, goat cheese salad, hummus. Their bread is awesome when it's fresh and warm! The apple crostata a la mode dessert is awesome! The other desserts are ok.

This is a solid choice as far as chain restaurants go. My favorite is the buffalo chicken sandwich, which has the perfect amount of heat. Their burgers are very good too. For lunch, I also really enjoy the soup/sandwich/salad combo or the pizza/salad combo. Portions are on the larger side & healthy options are limited. Dessert is great- I love the beignets. Service is typically above average for a chain.

When you first enter this restaurant you'd be amazed it looks exactly same as Cheesecake Factory so decor is not bad. Problem is they have small table for 2 and way too narrow space to other table. I ordered Southern Fried Chicken and they gave me 4 pcs of KFC style chickens with coleslaw and mashed potatoes for $18. just finished 1 piece and done. They have a lot of menus and less to eat I'll Never go back this restaurant again.

The food was quite good. I ordered the pot roast, and so did my 2 co workers. We were all very happy with it. The service started off very good, our waiter was very attentive, then it declined rapidly. Once we got our food he disappered and didnt reappear for 20 mins after we finished eating. So we just sat there awkwardly wating for our checks with empty glasses and plates in front of us. I love the decor inside, it feels very grand, but the prices dont reflect the expensive looking interior thankfully. My dinner was around $20 which isnt bad for such a fancy looking place haha.

I must admit I am a fan of Grand Lux cafe. I've been here a few times, and have never been disappointed. There menu is huge, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Every time I've came I've ordered something different and have never had a problem, nor was I unhappy. As far as chain restaurants go, this is one that I do enjoy going to from time to time.

The food and service was delightful. The decorations are nice, and compared to the cheesecake factory I will give it props for the better lighting. However, I would not recommend this place for intimate dinning. The style is cafeteria-like, very loud. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and the food was quite good.

Good dining experience. Went here last night just to get out of the house after a rainy, stormy day and spend some quality time with sis and 2 yo niece. I know it's owned by Cheesecake Factory and same as Cheesecake, there was a 30 minute wait. I have officially OD'ed on Cheesecake Factory so it was a nice change to go to the Grand Lux. I agree that the bread was not as good as the brown bread at Cheesecake but it was very good and had a nice chewy consistency; could just have used a little more flavor. Maybe if it was served with an olive oil and balsamic, it would have been better. We started with fried pickles and the crispy ahi sushi. It was the first time I had fried pickles but my sis said they were over-breaded and meh. They were okay not great, for me. The sushi was very good: lots of tasty tuna in a flash fried roll ... tasty. Dinner was the Hawaiian salad which was good but didn't have enough mango or macadamia nuts in it. We asked for very light dressing but it was still pretty flavorful. We also got the Sunday Night pasta which was a bolognese made with ground beef, mushrooms and short rib! Decadently delicious although I put a bunch of crushed red pepper on it for extra zing. The waitress was good and very attentive but the other servers seemed a little annoyed at having to serve us. I felt like an a-hole asking for Parmesan cheese based on the look on one of the server's face. Layout is similar to Cheesecake Factory and so is pricing. I would go back.

Nice restaurant to come for a casual lunch or dinner. It's right next door to the multiplex so my husband and I like to come here for appetizers and a glass of wine before a movie. Speaking of appetizers, the lettuce wraps and Asian nachos are a must. We also had their dual creme brule for dessert, also good.

I can't even give this place a review because every time I go there, I am never seated. I live ten minutes away and know what hours are busy hours in that mall. Every time I go in there, I am never greeted or asked how many in my party - and I stand right in front of them. I have been there at least 5 times and it has happened every time - the people who host just gab away up front, not even turning to us, so my family just leaves! I could understand if it happened once or even twice depending on how busy it was but seriously over 5 times is a bit much.

Upon tasting the food, I imagine there are sneeze guards over the buffet line in the kitchen where the food is assembled. The decor is the draw here as the food is this short of cafeteria quality at this Cheesecake Factory cousin/clone. There is no reason to come here unless your 16 and trying to impress that girl from biology. The menu is blah and the production is sloppy which is an insult given the premium they command. If I'm going to eat warmed up frozen food, I'd rather stay home as should you.

I think the Grand Lux is a little gem for a mall eatery. I've been here a couple of times for lunch and each time the food was great. Their hummus is one of the best I've eaten and I would make a trip there just to have it. It's not pricey for lunch, and it's very spacious.

First time trying this place. There was a 10 minute wait for a table. There were a few larger parties waiting for seats. After being seated I was surprised there was a wait since there were quite a few empty tables. The place is large, a little gaudy and quite noisey. The menu is large and covers a wide area of foods. Pastas, salads, sandwiches....Italian, Chinese, southern and American food can be found here. I had the max burger with fries. The burger and fries were actually pretty good. My wife had the chicken royale and shrimp scampi combo. The sauce was overwhelming. It was not your typical scampi sauce and it gave me " agita" and I only had a small taste. I didn't experience any service issues. Sergio, our server, was A-OK. When he wasn't around, two other servers popped by to get us refills. Great teamwork on their part. I had a plain cheesecake and coffee for dessert. Coffee was good, cheesecake was ok, I have had better. Having eaten at Cheesecake factory in the past, I have found that they seem to try and add their own "twist" to some of their dishes. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work out well. I liked the burger but the scampi sauce didn't do it for me. I was somewhat torn between giving this place a 2 or 3. I went with the 2 because of the scampi and the loud music was a bit annoying.

I come here often and the food is always good. The restaurant is beautiful. Floors are a bit slippery so ladies beware! lol Since it's right in the mall, It is the perfect place to go and relax after a long day of shopping. On to what I order. I usually order the Chicken Lettuce Wraps and they are rather tasty. Its sort of a DIY (DO IT YOURSELF) dish which is rather fun. Meaning, the food is cooked, you just put the food in the lettuce wraps yourself. In short, you assemble the food yourself. I also order The Crispy Thai Shrimp & Chicken Spring Rolls and they are delicious. It comes with a sweet chili dipping sauce. Yummy! Sidenote:GOOD PORTIONS. ENOUGH TO SHARE WITH ANOTHER PERSON. I recommend this place every time someone tells me they are going to the Garden State Plaze.

Came here with a group of seven for a friend's birthday dinner! We got a cupcake from Crumbs for the birthday girl and asked the lady at the front if it was possible to light up the candle for the cupcake and have it brought to our table as a surprise after our meal and she agreed to do so! However, we had to ask two times because the first time we asked, the lady didn't seem to be paying attention. Our waiter was nice and she was checking up on us to see how everything was going. We ordered two appetizers and five entrées and the portions were huge! We weren't able to finish it all and our waiter kindly wrapped it up for us to go. During dinner, I was worried that the cupcake would be misplaced or the lady up front would forget about it and what table we were at since she didn't really seem to be paying attention. But I was wrong and the cupcake made it safely to our table with a candle lighted just like we asked! Overall, the food was pretty good and service was good too!

Went here last night with my friend before the movie and did the 4-6:30 happy hour. Choice of $5 drinks and $5 full size apps. Sat in the bar area with the lovely waitresses and bar maid which were so friendly, warm and helpful. No rushing allowed. Just a nice relaxing time with fun brews and grub. *Went again last week (1/20/2012) and had the same good experiences. Blood Orange Magaretta was fantastic for $5. Pretty crowded on Fridays. So try to get there early. It really has become the place to be at happy hour.* Had a nice house Cab (a little tanic) with the Asian Nachos, veggie spring rolls, and jalapeño corn bread is a little skillet. After the film we went back and had the personal goat cheese mushroom pizza for only $5.50. WOW! what fun. Tons of food (brought some home) and delich. Lots of choices. When I go back I'll try some other plates and let the results fly. Oh, BTW - The bill total for the two of us? $23 + tip. Can't beat it for the quality. I like this place. GO THERE! Especially to have a happy happy hour.

If you've been to Cheesecake Factory, then you'll have a good idea of what it's like at Grand Lux. Except the bread here isn't as good as CF. The best part is the desserts! I'm a fan of the Key Lime Pie (Where else can you get decent key lime pie in Jersey?) and I'd like to go back and try the Banana Pudding. Don't bother on a Friday night- You'll wait for over an hour (even though they told you 45 mins) and the food really isn't worth the long wait. The Volcano Shrimp are probably the only small portion item on the menu and they weren't very flavorful. I had the Mushroom Asparagus pizza, which was very good, and the Sliced Veggie Salad is enormous! Food is good, but not worth waiting for. Go on a week night if you must.

We were there around 6PM on a Saturday. We had a Cosmo and a Sangria to start. The drinks were OK but pretty weak in the alcohol department. And they seemed expensive - $12 and $11 each. For dinner I had two selections from the Tapas page of the menu, carnitas tacos and duck triangles. They were both delicious, perhaps a little on the greasy side but well seasoned and very tasty. I would get them again. My husband had the Salisbury Steak. It came with two green vegetables and was topped with mashed potatoes. He liked it. Service was quick.

Yesterday at around 2 pm my friends and I (party of 9) made reservations for dinner at 6. Once we arrived, we approached the host and she had confirmed that our reservations had been made but that we'd have to wait until a table was free. She then gave us a pager and we waited patiently for an entire hour (not even exaggerating a little bit, it was 7 by the time it rang) before we were led to our table. This really annoyed me for the rest of the evening because what's the point of making reservations in advance if we're going to have to wait for a table anyway? I wouldn't have minded if the wait was shorter, but an hour? Really? I've dined here before, and their food was great as usual. I ordered the Pasta Telephono which was $13.95, a good price for a huge plate of food. I'm usually one to finish my meal at restaurants, but I was only able to eat half of my dish before I felt full and had to take the rest home. For dessert, we had the New Orleans Beignets which were $7.95 for 8. They come with three dipping sauces: raspberry, chocolate, and vanilla. These beignets are probably my favorite part of any meal I have here. Make sure you order these when you order your appetizers and entrées because they do take some time to cook. Overall, the food was delicious but the only thing that's preventing me from giving this place five stars is the disappointing service we had in the beginning. I'm definitely willing to give it another try in the future though, because I have not been disappointed in the past.

Been to Grand Lux countless times, weekends are busy and hectic so expect to wait at least 20-35 minutes. Most of the food is great such as the double stuffed potato spring rolls, volcano shrimp, chicken piccata, hummus and pita, buffalo chicken bites are really spicy. Fettucine Alfredo is definitely better than Olive garden and if you have room for dessert? I recommend the 30minute in advance molten cake.

Expensive and not worth it AT ALL My friend got the fish and chips and got food poisoning, she threw up later that day from the fish, I smelled it when it came out and it was nasty I had a spicy pulled pork sandwich, which was decent but not worth the money at. All There are a ton of restaurants around there, sure it's impressive but the food is blah and the price is high. Go to chilis, on the border, the rotunda, paparazzi, or Joel's instead, all good choices

I love going here. I love the vibe. I love the HUGE selection of food. I always get the orange chicken. My husband always gets the burger. The kids "toys" are some string you can mold. I'd rather have crayons.

I've been here a couple times with my fiance. The food has always been really good despite the usual wait on the busy weekends. The service was pretty good too. We ordered a fried calamari appetizer that never came (which we weren't really bothered by because we were so full), but to my surprise they didn't add it to the check when I got it at the end, so I was pleased with that. This place is a great restaurant to grab dinner before a movie over at the AMC theaters. My advice to anyone thinking about coming is: 1) make a reservation if coming on the weekend, and 2) take a look at the drink special for the day, it can save you some cash on drinks.

Just ok. Small draft beer selection and too much mayo on the sandwiches. Get it on the side.

We went last week for dinner. We got the fried pickles. They were too thick and would have been better if a bit thinner. I got the goat cheese and beet salad - not bad, pretty good. My husband got the Mediterranean mahi mahi - it came with mashed potatoes, which did not go with the dish. Overall, the place wasn't bad but I don't think we would go back.

Came here on a date on Saturday night about 9pm with the boo. We both love The Cheesecake Factory and thought we couldn't go wrong by trying another chain owned by them....and we were wrong. We were seated right away. Our waiter explained the specials that night and helped us pick an appetizer. It was hard choosing a meal because I felt like CF has better dishes. Our appetizer were the sliders (I forgot what kind of meat they were) They were good. Oh and I did actually like the bread basket here than I do at CF. Looking at the menu we also noticed that it was a bit pricier. I had a lemon chicken dish with pasta and my boo had some type of steak which he chose after he was debating between the meatballs and that, our waiter told him steak. He said it tasted good and well seasoned but the portion was super tiny. My portion was big but it wasnt that great. I ended up not even finished the leftovers the next day :/ I also had a Calypso Mojito, which was good. Our bill came up to $63. I wasnt thrilled about our service, the food, or anything. I wouldnt come back here. I think I'd stick to cheesecake. However I really do like this Westfield Mall...I'd probably just go to Ruby Tuesdays instead or hit the food court.

$5 happy hour appetizers are awesome until 6pm..... delicious treats that come in small portions enough for sharing by two... drink specials as well have a drink or two but be safe and not blue

Grand Lux is neither grand nor luxurious. It offers a variety of dishes that one can eat at chili's, TGI FRidays's or your local diner. The portions may be slightly larger but the food is bland and lacking flavor. Service is okay but the noise level from everyone in close proximity to one another is annoying. I ate the Cobb salad which contained dry chucks of chicken, dry bacon bits and huge amounts of lettuce with a few small unripe tomatoes. The drinks are good, but if you're coming here for the food, stick with the drinks.

I've always been a bit weary of chain restaurants like Cheesecake Factory because quite frankly when you have so much options on your menu how many can actually be good right? Well I was a bit surprised by Grand Luxe Cafe. The server was very nice and helpful. I tried the Bacon Cheeseburger with Swiss and avocado and it was very good. Portion was huge and made me feel uber guilty after eating it! I normally am not a dessert guy but i had the urge and was fighting between the cheesecake and chocolate fudge cake. The server twisted my arm in the direction of the chocolate fudge and the. Brings out this monster slice of cake! It was good, but I had to cut it in half or I would have really been a fat boy. Cake was very rich and thick, but a good dessert. Nice place I must say. The food portions are big so you can definitely share or eat all and then tap out.

Disappointing visit. Bread was so hard it would have broken teeth. Food came very late and then one entree was missing as they had given it to another table. One sandwich was totally missing the mayo and arugula. Overall impression was poor - felt like the B team were on today.

My husband and i caught a movie the other night, no kids yeah, after decided to give Grand Lux a try, have to say i was pleasantly surprised. The salad was so fresh and a nice portion, and the steak sandwich on artisan bread was amazing. Service was nice a bit young, but that is to be expected in a chain restaurant.

Cheesecake Factory, is that you? What the...son of a......IT IS YOU! I abhor CF, but admittedly, the food is decent. Grand Lux is a carbon copy of the cluster-fuckery that is the Cheesecake Factory with its gaudy decor and encyclopedia of a menu. Of course I didn't know this when the co-worker suggested we go here for lunch. Upon arrival I wanted to punch her in the face, but I'm glad I didn't because 1) she drove and I needed a ride and 2) my meal was pretty fricking amazing! [oh and 3) she could kick my ass. Shieeeet, I know how to pick my battles.] There was no wait time and service was on point. Our waiter didn't skip a beat and for a second I felt like I was at a fine dining restaurant. As a certified carb whore, I absolutely loved the warm table bread. For my entree, I ordered the mushroom burger w/fries lunch special. Holy GIGANTIC PORTION of amazing-ness! The bread bun was light and fluffy and melted in my mouth. The mushroom patty packed a flavorful punch that definitely surprised the hell out of me. Highly recommended. And you know what was even better than the burger? Paying only $10 for all that goodness. Sorry I misjudged you Grand Lux. It's just that your sister is kind of an assface. But you? You're fine by me! .

I love this place! I have been coming here for about 2 years now, was first introduced by my girlfriend. Everything I have ever ordered was delicious! They have a huge menu, and they are constantly adding new things to it. Check them out, you won't be disappointed!

I went here for a date and i really was impressed with the ambiance of the place. The decor was beautiful, and nothing like the Cheesecake Factory! Your greeted as you enter the restaurant and the staff takes care of your beverage needs with care. I had the Chicken Carbonara, which was a huge portion. For dessert I enjoyed the Peach Cobbler. My suggestion would be to order your dessert early because they prepare it fresh and it takes 30 minutes. If there was anything I didn't enjoy maybe the closeness of some of the seating but they will accommodate you as needed. My seating was in a booth and my date and I talked forever. Great place overall!

Grand Lux Cafe is a chain restaurant opened by the group responsible for the Cheesecake Factory, and for all intents and purposes, the style, portions, and prices are similar. I've been to both chains in different locations multiple times over the years, and find them to be nice dining experiences for a chain. This branch is located in the Garden State Plaza mall, with an entrance from the parking lot. Near the entrance is a dessert bar/take-out counter, the typical set-up for these chains, and a bar area with televisions. The golden decor evokes ornate luxury, with marble, swirl motifs, and blown glass. Pretty dining space, comfortable seating, and spacious. Service is fine. You'll be warned the food and drinks portions run impressively large. They're not kidding. Resist the urge to order a lot unless you want to take most of it home. The book-like menu is extensive and diverse, with probably something to appeal to just about everyone. Many regional American classics along with Italian and Asian style selections. Divided up into appetizers, salads, pastas & pizzas, steak & seafood, veggies, burgers & sandwiches, and desserts. Also an alcohol menu, cocktails, and lots of non-alcoholic beverages. Comments on things ordered on a recent trip: - Duck potstickers: while the duck flavor wasn't obvious, the skin was decently made, pliant and thin, and filling juicy - Hot wings with Korean spicy BBQ sauce: crisply fried, juicy wings, sauce was mediocre - Asian short rib tacos: these were bad; "ribs" were thinly shredded beef that were overcooked - Wood grilled pork chop: thick cut pork chop, a teensy bit smoky, fairly juicy - Avocado-Chipotle cheeseburger: decent burger - Garlic shrimp pasta: good shrimp, very rich sauce, way too much pasta (yes, yes, I know, as expected) - Peach cobbler: ordered early because this was one of the made-to-order desserts. Came in a ramekin with puffed pastry on top. Pastry good with the ice cream; a pity the peach slices were canned. - Strawberry shortcake: classic shortcake style but the cake was not good, whipped cream and strawberries were This is a mainstream restaurant so there will be nothing innovative about the food or flavors, and they'll cut corners here and there on ingredients. But having said that, if you know that's what you're coming in for, its reasonably good and of course, very generous. Add to it a comfortable, beautiful dining space and its easy to see why its often crowded.

Love, love, love THIS Grand Lux! The Cheecake Fattery...I mean, Factory's little sister, Grand Lux's menu echoes Cheescake's. There are only 22 restaurants in the chain so we're lucky to have one in the Garden State. Having been a customer for a while, this Grand Lux is rather consistent when it comes to quality and taste. The staff is very friendly and offers good customer service. On a few occasions, servers didn't write down the order which scared me. As I'm a vegetarian and make changes to my dish, I didn't think it would come out right, but to my delight, my dish arrived as ordered! If you haven't been to Grand Lux before, I highly recommend their molten cake which you must order with your meal. The reason? It takes 30 minutes to prepare, ie. it's gonna be hot when you crack it open! Recently, Grand Lux Cafe added 2 customer friendly features...not sure if this is Paramus only; most likely it's chain wide. They have a reservation line you can call which is great because if it's a weekend or holiday, you're guaranteed to wait. They also now give a $10 gift certificate to every 20th customer. Winners receive a notice on their bill. Be sure to login to fill out the survey and receive your gift certificate. I'm pretty sure there's a deadline by which you'll need to redeem it. One consistent flaw for this Grand Lux: ladies' room is hard to keep clean with water all over the counter, hence the floor! Careful not to slip as it's slippery.

This place IS the Cheesecake Factory. Heck. It said it on the menu. So, I knew what to expect. We ordered the pull pork cheese gravy fries for appz - my diet is ruined. The Sonoma Salad was pretty decent and the egg omelet with tortilla chip was average. *server with the blond hair and glasses - it couldn't kill you to smile or have manners - call you out. sup sup? *sup Bergen county? Bah. In da burbs.

Loved this place! Same company as Cheesecake Factory and food is comparable. I had Cajun Shrimp and Chicken Jambalaya, you get a LOT of food. The atmosphere is nice but VERY loud music. Conversation was difficult. The service was decent, our server checked on us a couple times and refilled drinks. The food came out quickly, was hot and delicious. They don't have these back home yet so this was a treat. Definitely reccommend!

I've never really had a full meal here so it's tough for me to give a full review. The last time we went just for dessert. I went for their build-your-own cupcakes thing, which came with four full-sized chocolate cupcakes, three ramekins of various icings, and additional toppings (sprinkles, chopped nuts, and... something, else, can't remember). Obviously a dessert intended for three or four people, really. The cupcakes were decent, but the icing was way too sweet and rich.

The service really needs to be improved. When I was here once, the waiter apparently greeted us without us noticing and the next remark out of his mouth (the first that we heard over the loudness of the restaurant) was a very snide, "...or you can acknowledge your waiter..*rolls eyes*" What? I'm sorry? Even if the most inconsiderate people on the face of this planet decided to walk into Grand Lux and specifically requested to sit at a table that you were serving and proceeded to be the biggest jerkoffs possible, you should be respectful and serve them food. Why? Because it's your job! At any rate, the meal continues with the sarcastic service because we were apparently too stupid to leave or complain. When the check comes, the meal is paid with a credit card. A tip was even left despite the terrible service. When I get the credit card statement, the only charge that I made within that month is at Grand Lux. So I should only see a charge from Grand Lux, right? No. There were several charges made to toys stores and gas stations beginning the day after the card was used at Grand Lux. (I don't have kids! I didn't drive back then!) When the credit card company was called, they said that somebody most likely recorded the number when the card was in their possession, because the transactions were not swiped. I didn't actually see anybody steal a credit card number, but I think any reasonable person could probably deduce what happened.

Truly forgettable mall chain restaurant. It's essentially the Cheesecake Factory trying to imitate a French bistro, and failing to fool anyone. Save your money and just buy fast food at the food court.

On a Sunday night, got seated right away.. They didn't have my first order of seared ahi tuna salad. So I ordered the roasted beet and goat cheese salad. Midway through eating I realize there weren't any goat cheese pieces at all!! It was a tasty salad, but it was disappointing. It wasn't even busy, that a main ingredient was missing.

This is absolutely my favorite restaurant because it is just so Amazing!!! First of all the staff, they are always nice and have smiles on their faces and know the menu very well. Their food is Delicious but I absolutely love aLL their appetizers. I didn't go much into food detail but its one of the best I've been to. I would want to own a Grand Lux one day that's for sure!

If you don't like to wait, go there on Sunday (like we did). It's practically empty so no long wait at all. The food was great. I thought they had a great variety - just like a diner. Really pretty inside and so spacious and comfortable. I loved their bread pudding. One of the best I've ever had. The salad I got was also top notch. The bread they serve you before hand is fresh and delicious as well. Our waitress was one of the friendliest waitresses we've encountered. Don't have anything to complain about.

I dont have much to say that is nice, except that the food was good. Service was not. Hosts were rude. Chairs are absolutely the dirtiest chairs I have ever seen in a restaurant. I emailed corporate about bad service, dirty restaurant, etc and still haven't gotten a response (its been 15 days) I wouldn't recommend unless you are at the mall and starving, the portions are enormous.

If you have ever been to Cheesecake Factory you can expect the same taste and quality of food from Grand Lux Cafe. From the Minis, Bites, and Taps we had the BBQ Pork Sliders and the Mini Pastrami Reuben Sliders. Both of these items were executed well and I enjoyed eating both. I had the Salmon Threw Ways. Its exactly as it sounds salmon served three different ways. Individually each portion is enjoyable, however as a whole the dish really doesn't fit together. Could possibly be a good option for something light for 3 people to share. If you're looking for a casual place with good comfort food Grand Lux Cafe is a good option.

I like Cheesecake Factory, so there's no reason I shouldn't like Grand Lux. Menu isn't as expansive as Cheesecake, but they have some good stuff. I got the Mango Swirl smoothie, which was VERY good. Slightly sweet, but refreshing. My boyfriend and I ordered the Duck Triangles, which were like duck dumplings. Pretty good. We also ordered the Thai Chicken Pizza, which was pretty good too. Nothing was STELLAR, but it's a good place to go with friends. It's a pretty big restaurant with lots of space. The service was great. Our server (Yana?) was very nice and accommodating. She brought everything that we wanted/needed. Grand Lux is a safe place to go for lunch/dinner.

was told this was a step up from cheesecake factory and it did remind me of cheesecake a lot, in terms of "classiness" and dishes offered. I wanted to get the Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese Salad but they were out of goat cheese. sad times. had the greek salad, huge portion, average salad.

Well I found this place to be pretty good, I guess. The food was pretty good. The drinks were pretty good. The prices are on the higher side, not justifiable in my mind. The restaurant's decor is very nicely done but the whole ambiance of this place is that of an over glorified franchise type dining experience. It's set up at the Shopping mecca of north jersey.. yippie. The menu is about 30 pages long. The place just seems to be trying too hard to say "we're the greatest, we're so grand". Overall back to the top, I say it is pretty good. It just wouldn't be a place I ever think of to go back to, however if I was nearby I could get dragged back in.

I've been there twice, and my experience has been amazing both times. The caramelized chicken, the beef strips, etc. have been very flavorful and perfectly cooked. One time we ordered one of the cooked on order desserts and it was amazing. The other time we ordered the banana pudding. It was incredible, and had these dry wafers in it which created the perfect balance between crunchy and pudding. I loved it.

I'm not a fan of chain restaurants - but I'm a fan of this place. I went here once before and had the tastiest watermelon martini - so i finally decided to go back and get one. (fresh watermelon infused in vodka) Although I did not see it on the menu, I quickly changed my mind anyhow. The chocolate espresso martini sounded so delicious I had to try it. Geeesh I never knew so much blood, sweat, tears, tender love and care could go into 1 little drink!!! This drink is whipped up by hand. It's literally made with like 7 types of liquor, shaken with fresh roasted coffee beans. It's got a layer of hand made, made right in front of you whip cream! The drink takes like 10 minutes to make. Its only like $13 maybe $15 - if it cost $100 It would still be worth it. Its liquid gold! The taste is simply exquisite! I felt bad because we ordered 4 of em. They are a bitch to make. OMG and then its topped off with caramel too.... An angel was my bartender, he had to have been - because he served me up a glass of heaven! I swear!! Ok sooooooooo gooooooooo even if its just for their incredible cocktails. They have the best - I mean, they don't use cheap ingredients, they use all top shelf liquors and they are really cheap considering the quality and the ambiance.. I felt like I was dining in Vegas with all the glitz in their decor... The food is like southern flair food, they warn you that the dishes are big - but its not like they are family style. I ordered the Grand Lux meatloaf off the big plate menu. I was not about to share any of it. Omg it was so good, the mashed potatoes were so light and fluffy, the meatloaf was even better. The carrots melted in my mouth ~ My sister ordered something even better then I did. What was it? It was the Shaking Beef!!! My good Lord, was her dish incredible! "Southeast Asian Inspired! Pieces of Beef Tenderloin, Red and Green Onions Sauteed with a Mildly Spicy Marinade. Served with Steamed White Rice" It sounds boring even a little gross, but shit it rocked. You know how when your looking for something on the refreshing side, less heavy. But can never pull it off with anything besides chicken! Well they figured out how to do it with beef! It was great!!! Awesome flavor - it came with a side of lemongrass juice or something, I dono it didn't call for it, eat it as is! I love this place and I love Cheesecake factory!! But Grand Lux I love even more!! I cannot get over their drink menu. They have a beautiful happy hour and all day appetizers and food for under $10 even $5 I can imagine it getting just as packed like Cheesecake does on nights and wknds. But I was there at 12 and the place was quiet. Awesome time, sweet staff - even the manager came over to check up on us! Anytime someone orders that specific martini, they come over to get feedback!! So folks - this is a no brain-er, don't walk, RUN to check this place out! Spoil yourself and indulge at the Grand Lux!

Pros: I loved the food here. The fried pickles are amazing and my 10 oz. Chop house burger was intense. They also have sourdough bread which is not frequently served at restaurants. I didnt have the drinks but two people at my table who had apple martini's could not stop talking about how great they were. Cons: The only complaint that prevents me from giving this place 5 stars is the service. We went there on a Monday afternoon and the place was empty. It took forever for them to bring us bread and we even made a point to say we were all starving. Also, the servers had trouble placing the food down on the table for some reason. Rather than putting the plates down they would hand them to us and then explain how hot they are. Odd.

I used to be a regular customer here, but after I got a bad case of food poisoning from what I believe was their sautéed spinach...haven't been here in at least a year. If you dare eat here, avoid the spinach like the plague.

let me start off by saying, this place has a nice appearance, inside and out. the decor is very classy and suttle when compared to the decently priced food. the staff is warm and welcoming and to top it off they carried my drink which is rare (Remy Martin VS). i will definitely recommend visiting this place. the food is flavorful and fresh.

I wanted to eat here, our second time at this establishment, but we were told there was a 15 min wait. 15 mins! This was around 1pm in the afternoon. I then walked around the restaurant, around the bar, and could see into the whole of the restaurant. THEY HAD EMPTY SEATS and BOOTHS EVERYWHERE. There were MORE empty booths, than there were filled tables!! Every one that came to the hostess table were told 15 min wait, after waiting 15 mins, I became sick to my stomach because there was so many open tables and a table for "2" was still being queued. I then told the hostess to cancel our "APPOINTMENT" for an "SO CALLED OPEN SLOT" and left. The last time I ate at this gaudy establishment made of gold flakes, I also waited to be seated, and the place was even more empty. The food also took forever to come out. This procedure to build PEOPLE IN THE WAITING area when there are so many open seats, just so they can LOOK BUSY is crazy. I hate it, and I despise this restaurant for doing this. Either hire more staff, or just stop faking the wait. This was 1pm in the afternoon. My wife was on Lunch, and if I had waited 20 mins to get seated in an restaurant with EMPTY seats all over the place, we would have had less than 40 mins to order, get our food and leave. this is UNACCEPTABLE for LUNCH HR service. If you are coming here for Lunch, forget it! You wont make it with their policy of sticking it to the customer so to create these FAKE WAITs in the "HOLDING PEN" or because they are understaff. We never got any apology from the hostess too, she just said OK. No sorry, nothing. Total disgust.

  • Cami V.

If you're in or around the mall it's the best dining option. Sometimes there's a wait especially on weekends but I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes. The food is eclectic, like the decor, so you have a variety of options from Asian fusion, American, Italian or French dishes.

Ordered tapas and an appetizer - the mini chicken tacos were ok. The Asian short rib tacos are way better. The mini burger sliders were ok. The bread to beef ratio was off and it needs a dipping sauce. Service was over all friendly.

I hated this place from the second I walked in. Aside from the overdone, gaudy Vegas casino decor it was SO FRIGGIN LOUD my boyfriend and I couldn't hear each other speak! I have absolutely no need for a restaurant that "specializes in pan-Eurasian cuisine and HUGE portions!!!!!!" as our cheery waitress informed us. Well, screamed to us since she had to in order to be heard over the din in the background. Aside from them being out of the appetizer I wanted (burrata) AND turkey for the salad I wanted (NY Chopped), the food we did get was mediocre at best. The korean tacos were a disaster to eat, and once you actually got a bite in your mouth weren't that good. The buffalo egg rolls were fine, I guess but how difficult is it to deep fry some buffalo chicken strips in an eggroll wrapper. The Cobb salad was decent. They are getting 2 stars because of the edible salad and strong gin & tonics, however there will be a cold day in hell before I return.

LOVE THIS PLACE!! I live right behind the mall, so my boyfriend and I place orders for pick up constantly. I love the atmosphere, its tacky but big and huge and fun, and the portion sizes are enormous. It's a chain restaurant, but one of the better ones.. My fav is the lettuce wraps (it's an appetizer but WAY more then enough food for your dinner) and their hamburgers. I'm sure anything you order will be delish and huge. GREAT PLACE and they have kick ass desserts! I recommend!

After coming here a few times we decided this was a place for drinks, appetizers, and deserts as we were never wowed by our entrees. The apps are real good though, and I almost want to give it another star for the Beignets desert alone. Weak entrees, service, and long wait time stop me from grading it higher, but still would recommend a visit to make your own call.

their fresh steaming bread, right out the over is killer. The bow tie pasta w/ sundried tmtos, red peppers, mushrooms in a cream sauce- seriously..... the best comfort food! Consistantly consitant for a chain restaurant.

The food here is very presentable and delicious. If your looking for a burger I recommend the Grand Lux Burger Melt. It's delicious. The Mango Swirl Smoothie is awesome. The deserts by the way are the best.

To be quite honest, it's a turn off when a restaurant's primary goal is to make egregious amounts of money. Yes the Lux is grand (duh!), lively, vivacious--Vegas comes to mind. They have the same corporate intro slogans reminiscent of that factory that makes cheesecakes. If your into gargantuan-sized, overpriced portions that no average person can possibly finish and a menu that takes a half hour to go through then this is the place to go. If you're like me who appreciates more of a personal touch and values GENUINE quality then dine elsewhere. Must haves: fish and chips, huevos rancheros, any of the app samplers.

So, here begins the long saga. We were eating prior to the movies and decided it was right next door. We got a beeper and told the hostess that we would be waiting at the bar. During our waiting we had to fight to get drinks and were wondering why the bar tables we not part of the wait list. When I went to ask if they were, we were told they were even though people were just grabbing a seat when they saw them. I finally got tired of waiting and asked how much longer for our table. She said they beeped me 15 minutes ago. Well guess what my beeper didn't work. They took us within the next 5 minutes, but no apology was made. NOTHING! The service sucked, the food was salty. My salad was so salty I actually drank my entire bladder buster during the movie. Not to mention the floor was treacherously slippery and I was in sneakers. Never, ever again!!!

Funny how the "upscale" cheesecake factory is the same price with worse food. The food is average, and by average its better than any other chain restaurant but still has enough sodium in the food to salt my lawn so nothing grows again. I did actually have a favorite on the menu, but they took the philly cheesesteak away. Then it was the flat iron steak sandwich. Now thats off the menu. Then i find a Chicago Italian Beef Dip sandwich, which was surprisingly good. Then 2 weeks later its off the menu. Now im pissed I tried a lot of other foods, but i stay away from pastas because Al Dente means your food comes out raw (like at any chain restaurant.) The other foods don't thrill me at all, and i swear if you put a taste test between their fries and Mcdonalds i would end up flipping the table over because you were tricking me that they were the same thing. Did i mention i saw a dead cockroach on the floor?

I know this is just another version of the Cheesecake Factory, but I really love this place. The appetizer menu is fabulous, everything I had from the buffalo bites, to short rib tacos, and chicken/bacon/avocado sandwich was yummy. The best thing however was the Lemon Drop Martini. It's a must have if you like anything lemon!

Eaten here a couple of times, very tasty food and large portions. The desserts are terrific so be sure to save some room, especially the warm donuts or molten choc cake with ice cream.

I usually go for a drink because I live right behind GSP. The atmosphere is nice. The happy hour bar menu is really great. The portions for $5-$7 are more than enough to fill you up. The bar staff is fun, light hearted, and extremely accommodating. I haven't sat in the dining area, because I just never do that anywhere when I am by myself. I am sure it is just as good!

This place has been consistently okay. The cake I had came back a lttile burnt, but the staff are nice and the proximity to the movie theatre is good. Overall, it's in a mall, it's a chain, and I've had better for cheaper in a nicer atmosphere.

Pricey, but good. The small apps are great to share. Kind of like tapas. Go there for the desserts. My favorite is the red velvet cake. It's the best one I've had!

The food is good no doubt. Very delish appetizers. But a warning if you are on a diet stay away. Nothing really healthy on the menu. The service kind of sucks honestly. I remember the hostess kind of ignoring everyone as they came in until she was ready to acknowledge them. Then when we were seated we waited about 10 minutes for out waiter, later when we wanted the check she disappeared again.

In all honesty, I would give this place 3.5 stars if I could. It has a large, opulent-looking dinning room (I suppose it has to do with the "grand" and "lux" themes). If you're looking for an intimate place to have dinner, this place isn't it. But for something casual it suffices, but you may get to know your neighbors while you're there because the tables can be close together. The menu is huge, with a lot of Asian-inspired dishes (Americanized of course), but along with an array of other influences. Calamari was overcooked, but the fried shrimp and zucchini that came along with it tasted quite good. My friend got the Jamaican pork: spicy but "very good" while I tried the Wiener Schnitzel, which since I never had before sounded intriguing. Tender meat, good red cabbage, with okay mashed potatoes. Nothing objectionable there. Service was relatively quick since we came during the week--my friend ordered a second drink which the server forgot about but was quickly rectified. Overall, not bad.

Stopped in here to get some drinks and food before a movie. Seems very busy and popular. We sat in the area by the bar and were able to take advantage of their "happy hour" special. $5 typhoons were really good. Had 2 of those and was able to put a good buzz on before the movie. We got the calamari plate and a pizza. Both were very good. The service was attentive and everything felt lush. Extremely high ceilings. The whole place is borderline gaudy but is able to pull it off. Would maybe try again.

The menu has so much potential, but I was a little bit disappointed with my experience. Items that were good were the medeira chicken (huge piece of chicken with a tasty, sweet sauce), the Mongolian beef and the beef short ribs (they have a few renditions - sandwich, pasta or the meat itself). The wait is long, about 40 minutes around 9pm on a Friday night for a party of 4. The portions can be rather large for some of the entrees, although the sandwiches are quite normally-sized in my opinon.

one day as i was meandering through the mall, i decided to give this chain a chance. the wait was incredibly long, but i think it would've helped matters if i was white. while i was sitting patiently, i overheard the almighty queen of the pagers bequeath helpful hints to those that she felt were worthy of them. she saw me eyeballing her, so she spoke more quietly. and wouldn't you know it, they were all pigment-impaired. i'd rather stick to the food court and get my $5 chicken teriyaki with free sample.

For a chain restaurant I really like this place. The food I have had has always been good, the staff has been friendly, the drinks are good and I love the feel/decor at night. A go to place if looking to not break the bank.

The grandeur of the decor is noteworthy, and the attention to detail and craftsmanship are spectacular. Yes, this is a "chain" restaurant, but you would be hard pressed to find any cheesy knick knacks on the wall or pictures of local sports teams. I am going to go out on a limb here and say that this is the standard by which other "chains" should be judged. Everything was first rate as far as environment and design is concerned. During lunch here, we started with the creamy spinach & cheese dip ($9.95) which was very good and had a very appropriate ratio of toasty nachos to actual dip. This was followed by the "Seared Rare Ahi" (12.95) also very delectable and flavorfully pleasing, while my guest had "The Max Burger" which seemed intense and appeared to please. ($12.95) To conclude this festival of gluttony we ordered a box of Homemade cookies ($6.25) and a couple of $4.25 cappuccinos. These warm, chewey freshly made creations are where the Lux Cafe really outdid itself. My advice to any would-be patrons, save room for desert because you're going to need it. (Yes, a second box of homemade cookies was purchased for the benefit of co-workers, friends, and loved ones)

This place is fabulous!! Amazing every time I go. First of all, on a Friday we were seated right away. Then the service was quick and very pleasant. The food was outstanding! The crab cakes were perfect and all lump crab meat! The shrimp parm was the most unique and outstanding that I've ever had. We finished with the creme brule duo! Wow...I could not have asked for a better experience! By far the best feature of the restaurant is the ambiance and decor! Like being in a dream!

The Grand Lux Cafe is owned by the same team as The Cheesecake Factory, but offers a different menu and food that I feel is a step-up quality-wise. I have been to the Grand Lux in Vegas many times and once to the one in the Beverly Center Mall in LA, so I was thrilled to see one open on the east coast. I tried the cafe for lunch and enjoyed it very much. The table was served some delicious sour dough and wheat bread with an extremely fluffy center and crisp crust. It was delicious. The menu also offers terrific lunch specials where you can sample smaller versions of their unusually large entrees. I ordered the Luncheon Omelete, which I had crafted with egg whites, mushrooms, tri-colored peppers, tomatoes, and asparagus. This was served with my choice of side salad or french fries. The egg whites tasted fine, but fake. The vegetables, however, were crisp, fresh, and flavorful. The side salad was also a tasty mix of romaine lettuce, tomatoes, fennel, etc. I also sampled my cousin's Portofino Salad, which was essentially the same as my side salad, but with grilled chicken, walnuts, fresh oranges, and Gorgonzola cheese thrown in. It was also tasty. For dessert, we opted to share the Banana Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding rather than revert to the played-out Cheesecake Factory cheesecake offerings. The large plate contained a huge round chunk of bread pudding, a large whisp of whipped cream, and a chocolate drizzle. It was rich, had a fresh banana flavor, and was soft and sweet. I highly recommend it. The Grand Lux is a great improvement on the standard chain restaurant. It is terrific for groups and a friendly, fast and casual meal.

My friends and I come here when we can afford it.. because you cannot skimp when you are here. We always enjoy our food, have always had incredible service, have always loved our drinks. We may not like what we pay at the end of the night, but we always leave beyond happy. This place is good for EVERYTHING. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, desserts.. everything. It's owned by Cheesecake Factory, but I think this place is better. Definitely try the Spinach Artichoke dip.. or the personal pizzas.. any of the sandwiches are good.. and my boyfriend loves the Mongolian Steak. (ITS A HUGE PORTION!) The environment is laid back, but very pretty. VERY NICE SPOT for a first date or group night out.

This restaurant is sort of like a cheescake factory setting and menu. Be prepared for a wait and some just OK food although I am not a huge fan of these type if restaurants. I had soup and salad and it was overpriced.

I would recommend this place to my friends. My friend forgot a package there when she left and figured it was gone for good. She called up and a girl name Kristen that works there took her number and called her back about a half hour later with the good news that she found it. That to me means everything and because of Kristen, we will be back for sure...

ok First of all this place has been open since 1999 by the same person who founded the Cheescake factory. I've been to this place twice already. However it was not in NJ. I wen't during the summer 07' when i took a trip to Chicago. I tell you this though. The place has classy written all over it. The food is good however expect ot take home alot of left over. You do get your money worth and trust me it's worth it. The burgers are huge and tasty especially the one burger i had the second time I went. I had the ~~~The MAX BURGER: contained--Our Greatest Hamburger Creation! Certified Angus Beef Topped with Cheddar Cheese, Crisp Applewood Smoked Bacon, Sauteed Mushrooms, Onions and Roasted Short Ribs. Served with Fries I had all of that on it except for the mushrooms because I"m allergic, but it was so so worht it.... They have the best pasta in the wold and yes it's stacked up there. When i went the first time I had. ~~~SUNDAY NIGHT PASTA: This contained---Made Fresh Every Day! A Rich Slow Simmered Meat Sauce with Chunks of Beef Short Ribs, Steak, Fresh Mushrooms, Onions, Garlic and Parmesan Cheese. Served over Spaghettini~~~ Once again I had all of that except for the mushrooms... Okay here's the best thing you can ever order in your entire life, because I ordered this twice yep once per time i went. If you are a HUGE chocolate lover and I encourage everyone to go and order this when you get there. The "MOLTEN CHOCOLATE CAKE." I mind you that YOU DO HAVE TO ORDER THIS BEFORE YOU ORDER YOUR FOOD IF YOU WANT THIS DESERT!!! Why, well if you order it before you order your meal then after your meal they have to prepare it because they make it FRESH. No they don't pull it out the freezer and pop it in the oven. It's fresh. They serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and it's to die for. The molten chocolate cake is very rich and you won't be able to finish it on your own beccause it's just that Rich in flavor. My bf, his mother and myself had to split one. I finished it all though, because I love rich things like that. Be carefull though if you are a diabetic I warned you. They also have other locations and to find out just go to there website grandluxcafe.com/locatio…

I wish I could speak to how good the food is here however due to the inefficiency of the staff at this restaurant I never was served. My boyfriend and I went into the bar area thinking the seating was first come, first serve which it was not for all of the tables in that area (our mistake!). However, after sitting there for ten minutes, multiple employees passed by us and did not attempt to help us by directing us to the hostess stand and the bartender who never left the area basically sat and watched us not being served knowing there was no server in that section. Once we finally approached the hostess ourselves, she informed us to as to which tables in the bar area were first come, first serve so we sat at one of those tables. Again, after another 10 minutes of no greetings and no service we walked out. Just as with the staff, the manager was not present for me to relay this information to. In sum, I will never even attempt to try the food here because the staff are unprofessional jerks.

I love this restaurant, definitely one of my favorite along with The Cheescake factory, Olive Garden, BLT, The River Palm Terrace etc. Everything we have tried are sooo good like the fried calamari, Chicken Lettuce Wrap, Caramel Chicken, Meatloaf. The drinks are good too specially the strawberry mango smoothie.

Had lunch here today... what a disappointment. This is a brand new restaurant built as an extension to the Garden State Plaza and they tout that they are part of the Cheesecake Factory chain. The spaghettini with baby clams were so salty and the pasta was so dry. The side salad dressing was way too sour to my liking. And lastly the carbonara pasta was very rudimentary. A 6yr old could have concocted that recipe. We did not have any dessert but noticed on the menu there was only a limited selection of cheesecakes. Original, strawberry and white chocolate raspberry. And some molten crap. I'm usually very forgiving but came out soooo disappointed and with a stomach ache! The only good thing about this place is that a new Jamba Juice is right next door; you can coat your stomach afterwards or my recommendation... skip the grand lux and have yourself a Bright Eyed and Blueberry.

Grand Lux felt a bit like eating in a casino. It had all the kitsch of a Cheesecake Factory, coupled with additional tacky decor. They certainly have everything imaginable on the menu-- you want Indian? Italian? Mediterranean? Yeah, they have all of that. Using the Cheesecake Factory model, they definitely have the "more is more" philosophy about both the menu (though, thankfully, it's shorter than the Cheesecake Factory's, which, apparently is modeled after War and Peace) and the portions. The food was totally unremarkable, but the waitress kept oohing and aahing over the large portions. Perhaps the biggest scam was the waitress encouraging us to place an order for oven fresh cookies. These "special" cookies have to be ordered at the start of one's meal in order to be served at dessert time. Being sugar-o-philes, we complied and ordered the cookies. What arrived was nothing particularly special. It's pretty hard to mess up a warm cookie- if the chips are still gooey and the brown sugar and butter are there in ample quantities, it's gonna taste good, but this cookie just tasted blah. Wouldn't recommend this place, unless you want that Vegas feeling without ever leaving NJ.

Went there with a group of friends. Neither of us were pleased with the food or service. I asked for some apple juice for my baby and got it really late. To top that off at the end of the dinner after paying the bill i asked for some warm milk for my baby and was charged $2. Every single restaurant i went to for the past 2 years the waiters and staff always said that they never charge for baby's milk. This is the only place that charged me in 2 years. Is that normal? not sure so im asking. I thought it was ridiculous.. also the food was not that tasty.

I first tried Grand Lux Cafe at the Palazzo Hotel in Las Vegas. And I was already a fan of that location so when I found about the location at the GSM, I excited and came here for dinner with my sister. I ordered my usual Wild Mushroom Burger and my sister got the Shrimp Scampi. My burger was good as usual. I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms usually, but for some reason the mushroom burger just tastes so good to me. I guess the fact that its made into a patty tricks me to thinking i'm not eating mushrooms. I love it with the pesto spread that it comes with and I love dipping my fries with the sauce too. The shrimp scampi was not bad either. They are really generous with the shrimp, there were probably about 8 really big shrimps in there. I thought the sauce was pretty good. There was not wait when we got there around 7pm on a friday night, and we were seated like within a minute. Our server was really helpful as well and checked up on us frequently and made sure everything was good. Good food and good service makes me a fan of Grand Lux Cafe.

Yesterday night, we had dinner at Grand Lux Cafe with two other friends. Our friend had a coupon deal for Grand Lux Cafe such that for every 30$ you spend as a table, you get a free dessert. We got two desserts. Besides good food and ambience, my measure of a good dining experience is not being rushed while eating. We were there from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm on a Saturday night. So that's a plus. Overall, we had very good time. Although it belongs to Cheesecake factory, I'd rather prefer Grand Lux Cafe.

Great place to have dinner. As soon as you walk in, you notice that the atmosphere is relaxing, but sophisticated. Wait times can be a while if you've got a large group (I had 10 people). Even then, it was only a 20 minute wait, but this was on a day that snowed earlier, so it might be longer. The food is great. Very flavorful and delicious. My friends ordered the Seared Rare Ahi and the Crispy Ahi Sushi Roll and let me tell you, those were absolutely amazing. I'm picky about fish and am also very critical of sushi and this was just wonderful. The wasabi is strong, but not overwhelming, done just right. The tuna is fresh and tastes great as well. I had the Crispy Caramel Chicken w/o the Red Chili Peppers. Based on the description from the menu, I was expecting a refined and sophisticated taste, but was a bit disappointed when it tasted like something I could've gotten a great asian fusion restaurant, partially my fault because it did say it had Thai sauce in it. Next time I go, I will order something else so I can comment on the rest of the menu. However, that is not to say that the dish was bad, it wasn't by any means. It was actually pretty flavorful and enjoyable. Desserts are amazing, the Vanilla Creme Brulee is just the right mix between sugar and the custard beneath, I found the chocolate to be too sweet for my tastes. I would definitely have their vanilla creme brulee again. Desserts are a bit expensive, but the portions for the cakes are absolutely huge and well worth the price. Service was great, our waitress periodically checked in with us, even though it was a busy night, to make sure we were enjoying everything. I would definitely recommend going here if you're looking for a different , more upscale dining experience.

Five stars for their decor, food, desserts, and service. My favorite appetizer is the asian nachos (full of flavor) Favorite dessert: Definitely have to try their chocolate lave cake. Favorite Drink: Mojitos Its a lot like the cheesecake factory (same owner I think). Their portions are huge so try to share or take home food. They have a large selection of food, almost every ethnicity. Very impressive though.

Best way to write this review......do you like The Cheesecake Factory? Okay than, if you answered yes than you will LOVE Grand Lux. Same franchise, but an upscale version of Cheesecake Factory. The portions are VERY big. So don't order a salad and than a dinner, because than you're taking it home. Since this is in the mall, it is quite conveniently located next to AMC movies. Grand Lux is usually always crowded. Friday nights happy hour bar is packed and there is always on any given day a wait for tables. Their burgers are excellent, my son is a "pulled pork" fan from this place. Unfortunately yesterday they were out of it. He got the Max Burger, said it was just as good. We come here alot. The pasta dishes are good, not great, but they are good. Waitstaff is always pretty helpful. Try their cocktails, and if you really want a good dessert, yes they all are but order the "made to order" 30 minute choc. chip cookies. I would say "to die for". Than take them into the movies...and enjoy!! It's not cheap, but it's a good bang for the buck!

I love the Cheesecake Factory and excited to try out the Grand Lux while shopping in the mall one day. I ordered the Carmel Chicken and thought it was really good. The reason for giving them 3 stars was my waiter. My girlfriend ordered a Tahitian Martini. When she tasted it she immediately didn't like it because she doesn't like grapefruit. The description does not say anything about grapefruit. She took one sip then told the waiter it must be the wrong drink and if not she doesn't like it. The waiter basically brushed it off as if she had to keep it so she tried it again. Another sip, still didn't like it. She called the waiter back, this time told him she wanted to replace it with a new drink, his response- "Fine, but for future reference, passion fruit means grapefruit." For the record, passion fruit is not listed in the martini. That was the last time we went there.

We thought we would go to this place for dinner before seeing a movie one evening. After we were sat down, the waiter came to take our order. I asked him if the fish and shrimp are frozen or fresh. He hesitated, then said frozen. Then, I asked him if their vegetables are fresh and he said no. He then proceeded to tell us that everything they serve comes frozen and all the "chef' has to do is defrost it. They don't actually cook back there, just defrost meals so that they taste the same every time. How appetizing. We decided to go elsewehere that night.

save your time and money. the food and service was unacceptable. if i could give negative stars i would. let me first say that i am not a fan of the cheesecake factory and unfortunately was unaware that they are actually the same except for the name. After a 45 minute wait we got a table and ordered 3 burgers, a kids chicken fingers and a sonoma salad. It took 33 minutes to arrive and arrived wrong . One burger OK, one supposedly medium was very well done, the third was the wrong burger. The waitress, very apologetic, said she would replace it with the correct burger ... we asked her to hurry because it had already been so long . Withn minutes the manager appeared to apologize and asked if they could usee the same burger but scrape the cheese and condiments off, then replace them with what had been ordered!!! No. Just bring the correct order. Ten minutes later the waitress arrived to inform us that they were out of burgers and our burger was not available. Out of burgers?? 7:00 Sunday night and they are out of burgers? She said the burgers were now being made to order. What does that mean? How were our other two burgers made if not to order. A decision was made to order a steak as the replacement meal -- that would take 15 minutes. 30 minutes later, all but one having eaten, a party member went for the manager. He assured us the steak would be out in just a mniute. 7 minutes later we left. Half way across the parking lot a waiter chased us down and handed us the steak in a doggy bag. Save your money and most of all, save your time.

I'd rather eat at the Cheesecake Factory than here. Seemed like a lot of hype that really was not worth it in the end. Went a little earlier in the evening so we were seated right away. Service was adequate, if a little slow. Food was lacking in taste and really was not memorable. The taste did not measure up to the cost. Wish we would have either gone to Chili's/On the Border in the parking lot or driven over to Cheesecake at Riverside Square instead. I'm one and done on this one.

I tried this restaurant for the first time several weeks ago. The service was good and the food had good flavor. I ordered the lunch pizza and salad. I recently returned for brunch and I ordered the pecan and banana pancakes they where delicious. The only negative is I felt a little bit rushed by the waiter towards the end of the meal. The restaurant was busy so I guess they have to turn over tables relatively quickly for those who are waiting to be seated. Overall it is worth going to it is in a good location with plenty of parking especially on a Sunday.

Unbelievable food selection and above quality taste with everything from Italian, to Asian to traditional American flair.. Great for food after the movies , a diner that is really not a diner and a great place to stop on a Sunday. When last there the lunch order got messed up and the manager threw in 2 pieces of cheesecake for free. Now that's, service.

the decor was grand and expansive (not expensive), but the food was hit or miss. my lobster omelet was SOAKED in butter/oil. i felt so queasy after eating just half, and i have a pretty tough stomach too. my friend's burger was pretty good though...but then again, it's hard to mess up a burger.

Its sister chain, Cheesecake factory, surpasses this place by a mile. You would think that this place would have good tasting food but it doesnt. its as simple as that. the atmosphere is good, some dishes (appetizers) but the entrees and desserts are subpar in comparison to cheesecake. When its only a short drive away why not go to cheesecake instead?

I agree, the decor is very nice. The bar was nice. Our drinks were great. BF had his usual a dirty martini and I had a cosmo. It was the best I ever had, I think. Sometimes they make them soo strong that I can't even drink it and sometimes it's too tart from the cranberry. It was perfect. Our appetizers were great. We had duck potstickers and mashed potato spring rolls that were topped with melted cheddar cheese and applesmoked bacon. Delish! Steve had chopped steak and you can't really screw that up. I had chicken picatta with artichoke hearts and mushrooms over spaghetti. First of all it totally needed salt. I don't know how people can cook pasta without salting the water. Second, the chicken was very eggy. THere were even spots that were so heavily egged that it looked and tasted like scrambled eggs. YUCK! Not on my chicken! I couldn't even taste the lemon and the mushrooms had no color they were the crappiest button mushrooms an they just looked white. Didn't look appealing at all. I did tell the waiter and he went to the kitchen and they said that's the way it's supposed to be. I'm no fool. I've eaten chicken picatta a thousand times and I've made it a hundred, i'm italian, he's wrong. It's not supposed to taste like that. It was crap. BF ordered chopped steak. It was very good. So, I would def give it another try. Their appetizers are unique and there were a few I'd like to try. It deserved 3 1/2 stars.

In their first months Grand Lux Paramus did a great job with food and service. The past two years the place has fallen to below average levels. The food is often tasty when/if it comes out as ordered but that is often a gamble. The service is the main problem. Often I have been seated at a table/booth that has not been properly cleaned - having to ask the server to clean it again which puts them in a bad mood. The wait staff is a mix of true professionals and servers who do not care or are just not good at working with the public. Often servers are changed mid-meal making the customer wonder what is going on. On a recent visit 3 of 4 entrees ordered came out wrong. Asked to speak to a manager but the server said they would handle it. After a lot of waiting I had to insist on speaking to a manager who then stopped over interrupting our meal with excuses. They need to learn how to quickly and calmly resolve customer issues without giving excuses. I will not be returning until I see some positive reviews showing they have fixed the service problems.

Grand Luxe is a very nice place to go to eat, as it showcases off it's space with well-lit rooms and a LOT of tables and booths. The staff is great and willing to help with ANYTHING. I got the house green salad to start with caramelized onion vinaigrette -- delicious. It was a good size and the leaves were fresh and tasty. The tomatoes inside were also fresh as can be and a dream come true. The Pasta Pomodoro was my main course, and it was also good. Nothing amazing that really FLIPPED MY WIG, but definitely a solid bowl of pasta. Orders were prompt and came out pretty quickly. The dessert was where it shined here: Dulce De lecce cheesecake. What a delight. It picked up where the rest of the meal left off, and left me feeling stuffed and satisfied.

My friend and I almost always eat here before seeing a movie next door and the service has been awful to mediocre every time. "why keep coming back?" I hear you say. Well it's convenient and the food is pretty good and who seriously goes to the Grand Luxe for the excellent service. I mean come on. Each time, we'll try to sit in a different section of the restaurant to see if the service will be better. Nope. Whether you're at the bar, in the lounge or in the dining room, you will be met with a weeded, apathetic server who doesn't care what you're ordering or when you have to leave. We're both in the service industry and enjoy eating out. We always get drinks, a bottle of wine, apps, entrees and if time, dessert. If you take care of us and show us even just a little bit of your time then we'll take care of you. Blech, I'm annoyed just thinking about it. End rant.

Was there for lunch today. Ordered the soup to start with.came out in less than a minute. Was cold not warm ..cold. Send back came back cold again. I have worked on restaurant row in nyc for the last 9 yrs so I realise. These things do happen.. Lost my appetite so I asked my waiter for my check. He leaned across the wall and said I owe $10.59 . No check no receipt nothing . Not even a check book to place my cash in.sorry I also had a soda. I found this very strange and rude. I come here cause I don't like the food court. For the rent that you must pay in the GSP you should probably keep an eye on what's going on in house.

UPDATE 9/24- EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK. I'm pretty sure I got salmonella or food poisoning from the raw french toast yesterday. About 4 hours after eating here I became violently ill with vomiting, stomach cramps and diarrhea...then overnight it turned into bloody diarrhea. I will never eat here again. Hoping I don't wind up in a hospital today. So much for a Happy Birthday brunch! Stay away from the french toast and their sorry excuse for a cappuccino. And if you want a birthday brunch, or any brunch, that includes a Mimosa- make sure you go after noon on Sunday. Damn those silly laws. Not sure why I expected much more from a Cheesecake Factory with a facelift. On the positive side they make some great salads and a killer strawberry martini- when they can serve them.

This restaurant is overrated. I've probably been here at least 15 times and I order something different every time. I can't find something that I'm crazy about, it's not bad but nothing really stands out. It's a nice spot after a movie but I wouldn't consider myself a regular.

This spot looks like it should be a lot more "lux" than the Cheesecake factory but the food and drinks are definitely not as good as its sister restaurant. However, the staff is very friendly.

This place is great, I really enjoy it every time I go. It's a chain, but it's a quality chain restaurant (like Houston's *see review above). Great place to go for dinner, and a movie at the GSP. Good consistent cooking, and a nice atmosphere make for a nice dining experience. It's almost always pretty crowded though, but that can also be a very good sign.

HUGE menu - if you can't find something to tempt you you probably should not be going out to eat. We say at the bar because I wanted to watch the NCAA - the food came out fast but not rushed We had Crispy Thai Shrimp & Chicken Spring Rolls and the Vietnamese Chicken Summer Rolls followed by a Drive in Burger and Pot Roast Cheese Fries. Clearly not a diet day but the calories were well spent .

It's unfortunate such a nice looking place with an opulent atmosphere serves less than average food. I feel it's like most chains, they attempt to veer from the commercial, only to appear that way in the end to "foodies" because their menu offers fattening selections in order to stuff the masses. And while some items are tasty, they're hardly an accomplishment. Any establishment can throw butter & cheese on bread, slap medium well done meat on it and call it a 'melt'. The excellent location can't be denied, and it's the very reason I went. Who wants to walk all the way to the other side of the mall when Grand Lux is a hop, skip and a jump from the next best movie showing? Thankfully, the serivce was above average, and while our server seemed busy, she was attentive, prompt & intelligent. I can't say don't try it, because if you've got tix for a movie and need a cute date spot to catch a bite before or after, this place will do the trick. And you'll probably enjoy yourself for the most part. But I'm not sure your tastebuds will be overly satisfied. Frankly, it's nothing special.

This review is just for Happy Hour. I recommend it for a pretty decent HH before checking out a movie next door. Beer and drinks for around $5, I had a pint of Stella for $4 and a Blood Orange Margarita that was tasty and fairly strong for $5. Appetizers are full size and all around $5. Small plates and tapas are also available. The Spinach & Artichoke Dip is great for sharing. I didn't care for the Asian Nachos at all -- super sweet peanut sauce and just an overall weird combination. Mini burgers and Buffalo Chicken Wraps (with a fried & crispy exterior) are the way to go.

Expensive mediocre food. For a chain restaurant they have the nerve the overcharge diners for basic food. It essentially is a more expensive Cheesecake Factory. The place is huge and defintely has some of the nicest decor of all the restaurants in the mall. Service was subpar and our waitress wasn't too friendly. My dish was forgettable and unexciting. As much as I am against chain restaurants, do yourself a favor and go next door or to one of the two places on the "other side of the mall". I won't name the places, but for chains you will get better value there.

I am a fan because they reimburse the cost of foods with no questions asked. The dishes that I found dissatisfactory were: Vietnamese summer roll (rice paper way too hard as they pre make them and put them in the fridge, the chicken inside was still frozen....), edamame (wok with soy sauce which burned the outside and made the beans inside dry). We also got the spinach artichoke dip and the chocolate lava cake taken off our bill because one was late and the manager personally came out to apologize, and the other was just them being nice of everything being so messed up. Wow!!!!! What was amazing was the hummus flat break, soft bread and nice blend of chick peas. The service was great as well.

I like this place. We came here at 8pm on a Friday night. It was packed with a 45 minute wait so we made our way to the bar which was also packed, but we were served right away. Since this place is owned by the Cheesecake Factory, I expected it to be a similar experience and it was. The decor is darker and sleeker, but it's still the same high end casual vibe. Very comfortable, nothing felt pretentious. We were seated and instructed about their made fresh to order desserts. We were told that we needed to order them at the same time we ordered our entrees because they take 30 minutes to make. I have three issues with this part.... 1) I can't order my dessert at the same time that I order my entree because I have no idea how full I'm going to be from that entree. 2) I could understand if the made to order desserts needed pre-ordering if they were all personally customized items, but they weren't... 3) I don't like feeling pressured into ordering desserts. We were also told that the portions of the food that is served are all very large and most people end up taking some home. We didn't want to do that so we ended up ordering two appetizers and a pizza to split. The Tuna Ceviche was good. Not great, I've definitely had better ceviche, but it was okay. The Duck Wontons were very enjoyable. I've never had duck wontons before and loved the idea. We were a little underwhelmed by the presentation as we thought they would look more like little bundles instead of little triangles, but they tasted very good. We only wished they served more than four. The highlight of our meal, however, was their Prosciutto and Arugula Rustic Pizza. OMG so good! Better than any pizza I've ever had at the Cheesecake Factory or California Pizza Kitchen. We still talk about how good it was. I would definitely come back to Grand Lux Cafe. I'll most likely even be introducing it to people who have never been there before.

Positive: Original and delicious baked to order desserts. Negative: Very busy at lunch/dinner times and desserts take 30 minutes to be made. Overall: Great place for baked to order dessert in a grand setting that must be tried if you come within 15 miles of any of the locations!

It's a decent place to eat for an upscale casual setting. The Braised Short Ribs are definitively mass produced and over cooked. The Ahi Tuna Salad is made with lower than standard sushi tuna. (The pieces have lost their moisture, and red color.) The smoothies are super sweet beyond what is natural. If you go in knowing that it's a mass eatery and not a specialty restaurant, then you're fine. The place does get packed on holidays and some Saturday nights, but be sure to get there ahead of your expected dinner time on peak days. The decor is nice with detailed facsimiles of actual wood paneling and faux marble. The demographic of patrons is what you expect from a mall, which it is located in.

This place reminds me of the Cheesecake Factory but with slightly down-scaled. The interior design has the same feel. Onto the food. They have a variety of food that will please anyone in your party. I came here during Lent (i mention this because I had given up all meat, seafood, fish for Lent this year) and chose the mushroom shitake burger. WOW. I thought it was really delicious & would definitely get it again. That says a lot considering I love red meat burgers! My sister had the jambalaya and my friend had the pulled pork sandwich - both were very happy with their meals. Our waitress was friendly and the wait was not bad for our food considering it was a very busy Friday night.

I'm really not a huge chain restaurant person, but I've been here a handful of times. My boyfriend is a bigger fan of this Cheesecake sister restaurant than I am, but the salads are massive just like Cheesecake and the red velvet pancakes at brunch are delicious. The bf almost always goes for burgers and he likes the quality and selection at Grand Lux. It isn't crowded if you come on a Sunday, especially during the day, which was nice when I came to watch a March Madness game.

I think the service here is either a hit or miss. Then again the tip or lack thereof takes care of that. When the waitstaff and hostess are friendly it's a great experience, interesting atmosphere and great (some of the dishes ) food. Even when your in a rush and don't want to eat what the food court has to offer their take out is pretty quick and the person at the register is usually very friendly.

The appetizers were good. And servings comes in really big plates. We came in a group of 7 and we only order five plates of main course and we weren't able to finish it.

I love the Cheesecake Factory and I've been to other Grand Lux Cafe's that have been good, but this place is awful. The food wasn't prepared properly, it took forever to get our drinks, the staff was someplace between disinterested and nasty and something that we didn't order wound up on our bill. I will definitely not be going back to this place. I'd give zero stars if possible.
