All around not a bad place if you enjoy brick oven pizza. Enjoyed their Thai, Hawaiian, and California Club Pizzas

It's a pretty good place to eat while at the GSP, since I usually avoid food courts at all cost. Expect some wait time if you go in groups. They have bar seating area which is perfect if you're just by yourself. I surprisingly didn't come for pizza. I had chicken picatta instead which I thought was sooo muuch chicken. The blanco flatbread was pretty good too. Download their app "CPK Dough" on your phone, and when you check in the first time, you get 1 free item from the small plate menu

I have been here a few times as it's been a staple of the mall forever. They even deliver within the mall if you work at one of the stores. Weekends and nights, there is usually quite a wait for this place. I do miss their shrimp summer rolls that they used to have (what an amazing appetizer). The pizzas I have ordered include the Thai Chicken and Tostada. But I feel like the toppings always overpower the pizza too much. And the pizzas are alright. They're not that out of this world. Being in North Jersey, there are definitely better pizza dough and sauces out there. The pastas are good but very heavy and a little on the oily side. The desserts are huge and delicious though especially anything with chocolate. I love chocolate. The staff is usually prompt and courteous. I have never had an issue at this CPK specifically ever. However, CPK just feels like a (slightly) higher end version of other chain restaurants (i.e., TGIF, Applebee's). The food is always way more than you need and usually just - it's alright. Not the best, not the worst and it definitely does the job to fill you up.

I haven't been here since 1999 when I used to work as a hostess during one college summer job. So much has changed including the menu! How could they have gotten rid of the Rosemary chicken and potato pizza?!!!??? We came Friday night and was shocked that there was no wait. I was even more shocked that they added tables on the 2 floor between the booths. Some advice-if the hostess seats you at the first table on the 2nd floor in between the booths asked to be moved. We kept getting bumped around as people were being walked to their tables by the food runners and bussers. Worst seat ever. Our server Brittany however was awesome! She made great recommendations and was really engaging and sweet! Their new agave mojito was watered down, but their strawberry basil martini was delicious. Unfortunately not consistent though because the 2nd martini I ordered was overly sweet and viscous as if they didn't water it down with the alcohol; I couldn't even finish it. The Moroccan salad was pretty good with a lot of ingredients and flavors going on. The chipotle pizza was awesome, and I especially loved the lime&cilantro creme on it. We then couldn't decide between the Thai pizza or the spinach & artichoke pizza. Brittany suggested getting half and half so we did and I wish we had listened to Brittany from the get go and just gotten the whole spinach & artichoke pizza, it was aweeeesome!! Great chunks of fresh garlic and the wood burned artichoke is killer. Definitely recommend all the food we had.

Now I know this is called "pizza kitchen" but I am in love with their Quinoa and Arugala Salad in their "Lite Adventures" section. No matter what salad you get, make sure to try the Champagne Vinaigrette...SO GOOD! The Quinoa Salad is healthy, fresh, and delicious. I actually have yet to try their pizza, but their flat breads are around 400 calories for a meal. Not bad. We usually place our order online (from work office) and it's always ready when they say it will be ready. No complaints with CPK!

Ambiance/Decor/Atmosphere: Slightly on the boring side; almost diner like with the wood tables and brown color all over. The tile pizza oven area is pretty eye catching, and there is a counter in front where you can sit and watch people cook. The counter is a hit and a miss at the same time to me; it seems like a bar to drink at, but at the same time where you'd eat at in a diner. I'm not sure if a diner feel is what they are going for, but what the hell........ Noise/sound level: LOUD as hell. CPK is popular because of the offerings and it will almost always be crowded in this location. You won't really have to yell to your guests, but you might have to speak louder than desired. Menu: The menu is on the verge of being gigantic; composed of many different tapas, appetizers, meals, desserts, and drinks. But, it covers almost every option under the sun so whatever you want, you more than likely can get it at CPK. Service: The wait staff was friendly, accommodating, informative, helpful, and ticket times were as expected considering the amount of people eating. Food: My wife and I frequented CPK twice and haven't really had a chance to go back since. The first time we went nuts; we had mac and cheese bites, tortilla spring roles, lettuce wraps, the dumplings. The second time we had spicy sausage pablano and fennel flatbread, fish tacos, and the bianco flatbread. Overall, I gather some of the food is frozen but the general presentation and flavor is not bad. The food is fun and tastes as good as a chain restaurant can provide. Bar: Full. The fact this place is in the mall and you can get sloshed in it is crazy. The beer selection is decent considering and the prices aren't too bad. Price: Each plate alone might not cost a lot, but the serving size will trick you. Once you order a few dishes it will get expensive fast. I don't think I've left here spending less than $60 for two people. It's not too big of an issue though; you're here to have fun. Overall: I definitely want to return and try the habanero pizza, but be forewarned your experience might be detracted some if it's busy. The second time we visited we were packed in like sardines so close to everyone else. It was so tight I could smell the dude's breath next to me. Also, CPK delivers here, but for $100 minimum. (per their site)

One of my favorite restaurants at Garden State Plaza. It is extremely casual and a great place to grab a bite to eat after a day of shopping. It is usually extremely busy and you will have to wait, but it is worth it. The strawberry lemonade is delicious and I always get the tri colore pizza (salad pizza) which is scrumptious! Also! If you are going to the movies after, tell your waitress, you can buy movie tickets at a discounted price!

Caribbean Sunset Sangria is the best....very refreshing. The service is good, food is great. But they need to do a better job with the bathroom. It is always dirty.

Just had a pretty good meal. I am not really into chain restaurants but this place was close to route 17 where I had been shopping earlier. Our server and the service was way above average. Rob was so attentive, nice and helpful. I really love good service and we got it here!! We started with a bianco flatbread. So good!!! Anything with cheese, truffle and sage is heaven on earth in my book. Shared the kung pao chicken and a thai crunch salad with my dining partners. Both were good and just enough food for 3. Since we weren't stuffed we went with the butter cake for desert. Rob convinced us to get ice cream with it, claiming it'd be sacrelig not to. So glad we listened! Loved the variety of ethnic dishes, delicious desert and the service!!

This place is just amazing. I need to come back ASAP. This was my first time and it was a great experience. Yes it's small and they stack the tables on top of each other but it makes you feel like you're in New York. The server Rainbow was super nice and just perfect!! She was super sweet as well. I signed up on the app before I came and they give you a free small plate. Ordered the quesadillas which were delicious even though they had black beans in it, which I hate. The ranch sauce was delicious as well, I think it had chipotle in it. Saved that for the pizza too. The BBQ chicken pizza was just perfect. The chicken was nice and soft and the BBQ sauce was nice and sweet with a slight tang. It was a great choice. Next time I come I have to get the cheese and tomato one. When Rainbow brought the check she also placed hand sanitizer on the table that smelled like beautiful oranges lol. It was lovely.

Service was great here my server Brea was really nice and attentive. The food was ok. I love the avocado egg rolls but the spinach dip wasn't that great.

CPK didn't really hit it out of the park for me. The food was good, but I was expecting it to be better -- especially because there is always a ton of people here. For appetizers my table ordered the Bianco Flatbread, which is a small plate & a new menu item. I was a fan of this, because the flatbread is drizzled with truffle oil and you can pretty much put truffle oil on anything and I'll love it. We also ordered the Spicy Chicken Tinga Quesadilla and the ranchito sauce that it came with really made this dish a hit. It was REALLY good. As part of our main dish, we shared the California Club, Lettuce Wraps, and the Sesame Ginger Chicken Dumplings. The pizza crust was really good but I probably wouldn't get the California Club again. It was pretty much salad on a pizza. It made the pizza difficult to eat. The service was pretty good. Our waiter told us about their app and if you download it, you get a code for a free small plate.

I've been to this place couple of times trying to understand why it gets so crowded. Pizza is below average at the best. Last time I ate there chicken garlic pizza and quinoa salad my stomach hurt. Pizza crust was burnt crust and salad looked stale. Service was slow even though it was a weekday and place was half empty. Nothing appealing about this place. Won't be back

I've been walking by this place since I was a child and never went in. I've been here twice already and love it. I'd recommend the Jerk Chicken Pizza. All the appetizers I tried were amazing too. Will definitely frequent this often.

I absolutely love this place. This CPK, along with the Nordstrom Marketplace Cafe, and Zin Burger are my three favorite restaurants in Garden State Plaza. Even on busy days, the wait is never terribly long; at most I've waited 15 minutes. The servers are very friendly and attentive. This place has a wide selection of different foods, and almost everything that I've tried here has tasted fantastic. My favorite pizza is definitely the Sicilian Pizza, which is one of their Crispy Thin Crust Pizzas. It consists of spicy marinara, parmesan cheese, oregano, and basil, combined with a medley of different meats (ham, Italian sausage, salami). The meats and spices combine to create an absolutely incredible pizza. I'm usually not a huge fan of crust (don't worry, I still eat crust, I just don't enjoy it), but the crust here is so good. It's got crunch to it, but is also soft inside. In addition to the Sicilian Pizza, other thin crust pizzas that are good are the Jamaican Jerk Chicken and Margherita. The Jamaican Jerk Chicken consists of bacon, onions, peppers, spicy Caribbean sauce, and other flavors that I don't really know, but enjoy the taste of. This is one of those pizzas that I enjoy 2 or 3 slices, but never seem to finish the whole thing on my own, since BBQ style sauces sometimes overpower the taste. Other things that taste good here are the Spaghetti Bolognese, which is classic. Their meat sauce is so much better than anything I can ever hope to replicate at home. The Jambalaya Fettuccine is pretty good as well. Another aspect of CPK that I love is that the franchise likes to experiment with new flavors, cuisines, and cultures. For instance, I once had a Korean BBQ Steak Taco which was so freakin good. I think it was on their special menu or something, they have really interesting and tasty specials. The layout of the restaurant is great, fits a good amount of people, and is clean. They also have a bar with a TV, so if you're on your own, not a bad idea to sit there if you feel awkward sitting on your own. I always ask for a booth seat when I go, but that's more a personal preference. I'm looking forward to coming back again and again.

Came here today with a few friends for lunch. It wasn't crowded at all and we got seated rite away. As we sat down we were greeted by our server and he took our drink orders and gave us a few minutes to order. I ordered the white corn guacamole with chips and it was very refreshing and crisp. I also ordered the macaroni and cheese bites that were coated in panko bread crumbs and fried to a perfect golden brown. It was served over a cheese sauce that was to die for. My fried ordered the spring rolls that were served with guacamole on the side. My boyfriend and I ordered the garlic chicken pizza that was very yummy. My friend got the tostada pizza and didn't like it so she got the garlic chicken pizza as well. For dessert we ordered the chocolate soufflé cake that was amazing it came with vanilla ice cream and a vanilla bean sauce that was lighter than a cloud.

Great staff and delicious food. We threw our daughter's 3rd birthday here and the staff was so accommodating with any requests we had. The kids part of the party is inexpensive but it gets pricey when you start to order catered food for the rest of the party guests... But it was all worth it to have them take care of everything for me. I would highly recommend considering doing your child's party here!

Dirty, dirty dirty. Table wiped down with dirty rag, manager when he finally decided to come out of his cave to talk to us( 7 mins), he didn't seem concerned. And the benches are ripped and dirty. CPK can do better. This location needs to be closed down, cleaned, refurbished, and then reopen with better management.

Service is good, food is not just pizza even though the word pizza is in their name. Large portions of food so you get your value for the price. Years ago when I lived in Los Angeles I hated this chain as service and food was not very good but times has changed and so has my mind. I will revisit again as I do enjoy having a meal here. Pizza is still not the greatest but the rest of the menu is not bad. The desert menu is pretty good and the portion is nice and large so save room for it as it is worth it.

My friend's mother wanted to eat out with me. WIthout my friend. Yes it was a little strange hahah. But it was a Thursday for party of 2. At CPK, you can call ahead 30 minutes to put your name on the waiting list though they don't necessarily reserve. I called ahead for 5:45 PM but when we got there, there were a plenty of empty tables. The traffic around the area at that time is an absolutely pain as everyone heads home for work or out for dinner, so you can expect the mall parking to be kind of horrendous too. Oh that's another thing, it's actually inside the mall, not like one of those restaurants that have a direct outside entrance. We were able to get a free Small Plate by registering with the CPK app on my smartphone. Jessica, our server, was quick to take down my account number and immediately put it into the system (grateful! I read about how much of a hassle getting this free small plate was at some CPKs). We got the White Corn Guacamole & Chips. Came out in a matter of 2 minutes-- awesome!! The amount of guac they give you is about 3 tablespoons. A lot less than we expected for the amount of chips we got. However, good and I s'pose it is afterall just an appetizer. I just think they should portion the ratio better. We ordered the California Club and the Kung Pao Spaghetti, both to share. When Jessica took our orders, she reassured us that they were great selections! Especially being a first time visitor. We waited about ten minutes and Jessica refilled out waters in between. Food came out. Though the California Club didn't have that zangy tangy kick I was looking for like in a BBQ pizza, and appeared rather unappetizing because it looks like a salad on top of a pizza, I actually enjoyed it! It did not feel like a guilt-heavy pizza. There were pieces of bacon throughout and the lemon-pepper mayonnaise was the most flavorful. I don't think I'd get it again though. The KUNG PAO SPAGHETTI however was bursting with flava! The shrimp was so very perfect. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked. Noodles were a little more than al dente but not anywhere near mush which is what I LOVE. It also was a little spicy and just had all the right combinations to round out a good twist on a Chinese classic. I think this dish would be great for asian parents who don't typically enjoy going to non-asian restaurants because it doesn't "fit their taste". Jessica, being pregnant, was so on top of her game. Checked back once, and came back to drop the dessert menu once (which we didn't have room for). I saw her from my peripheral waiting on standby for any of our needs, but never intruding, bothering, or rushing us. We spent a full hour & 15 minutes there in wonderful conversation. She filled my water a total of three times and was the kindest. Bill came out to $30. Left a 20% tip, totally deserved! Go Jessica. CPK Management if you see this, praise her!

THE BEST PIZZA PLACE IN THE WORLD! I love CPK - it is a special treat to go here. Not only is the food amazing, but the service is always perfect. I went out Wednesday evening with a close friend. Our server, Megan, was more than helpful. We liked her so much, we wanted her to join our dinner and sit with us. She was so nice, kind, and knowledgeable about all of CPK's products. She made our experience that much better! I had the whole wheat Margarita Pizza, which was to die for. I love going here and will continue to go! It is a little trip for me, but so worth it!

Megan is one of the best servers there and she always makes sure my glass is full and my table has food on it quickly. She's very friendly with kids and overall puts a smile on my face and makes me want to come back every other Sunday! By the way food is great at this location.

LOVE it here. Food: Oddly, I never get pizza, as they lack flavor (most have no tomato sauce) but everything else here is delicious. My favorite dish is the Chicken Milanese, which comes with Arugula, tomatoes and shaved parmesan. The mac & cheese is also great. The corn guacamole appetizer is a must. Drinks: Sangria all the way. Not strong at all but very delicious. Service: Oddly enough, the CPK's in NJ have much better and quicker service than the ones in NY.

I came into this CPK with an average expection, and they beat it! - Since is was friday night (super busy) we called 1 hour ahead to put our name down (it is not a formal reservation, but it holds your place in the waiting list). I would suggest to do that for any weekend night. We only had to wait 5 mins to get a table for 10. - Service was surprisingly quick even during the busiest time of the week. - The food was above average: we ordered 4 kids meals, 4 entree pizzas and 2 full salads for 4 kids and 6 adults. The salads were refreshing and surprisingly exotic, and the pizza was above average. The pizza wasn't burnt or under cook in anyway. It was cooked perfectly with the golden crust. - Surprisingly the bill wasn't too hard on the wallet too! I would probably go back here if I had a craving for pizza while shopping at Garden State Plaza. ENJOY!

Never had a bad meal here. When I first started coming they had this amazing dish called the Garlic Shrimp Pizza. The pizza menu seems to have gotten shorter. Boohoo they took it off the menu. Otherwise I'd give this place 5 stars. However, the pot stickers, the quinoa salad, the regular pizza, the Kung Pao Spaghetti, and the Thai Chicken pizza all kick butt.

I usually LOVE CPK and I haven't been here in years- the best part of the meal was our server- Rainbow. She was funny nice and attentive. Sis and I split a cobb salad and BBQ Chicken pizza. Both were totally average and I recall the BBQ chicken pizza being much better. I joined the rewards program called "Pizza Dough" on Rainbow's suggestion and I should have done it at the beginning of the meal, I would have gotten a free small plate app. Guess that means I have to go back :)

Went back recently to give them another shot. We were able to get seats quickly and service was spot on. Pizza cheese definitely improved for sure, spaghetti bolognese was delish, and the chicken lettuce wraps were flavorful (although the peanut sauce was on the runny side). My kids also devoured their pizza so we will return!

Another great CPK location to go to. Waiters are nice and friendly. And I can still get the same quality shitake chicken pizza and Chinese chicken salad that I got in LA. Beautiful!

I love this place! Their chicken quasedillas are AMAZING. I order these every time I come here. I also love their pizzas - especially the BBQ one (I forgot the exact name. Maybe its the Chipotle one? Or the California BBQ pizza?) But I always get those two when I go to CPK!! And it's absolutely delicious.

OK pizza. NY style will always be king. As I was saying, California style pizza isn't amazing in my honest opinion. This place has some decent beer, a better wine list, and a non pizza menu that is pretty good. This place can get packed on the weekend and I usually see people eating the pizza. Not sure why because the rest of the food is much better. It's a thin crust style, but the crust itself doesn't have that crisp texture of the right taste. Cheese and sauce aren't anything super flavorful either. Flavor profiles like California Club or Habanero Carnitas aren't really pizza, they're pizza shaped, but certainly not pizza. Better alternatives are things like the Fire-Roasted Chile Relleno or Jambalaya Fettuccine. Bottom Line: The pizza is MEH. The rest of the food isn't bad and the wine is good (Although a tad overpriced).

on new years day, this was one of the few restaurants that were open although the rest of the mall closed early. i almost feel apologetic when i show up to a restaurant these days with 5 people. it is such an odd number, the hostesses just doesn't know what to do with us. At CPK, there were only 2 tables that can accommodate this and they knew right away where to seat us. the food was excellent but took a little longer than i'd hoped for (admittedly i was starving from a 7 hour shopping spree and woodburry right before). my favorite dish is the hummus appetizer, the pita is so warm and soft, not to mention fragrent.

    (4)
  • Montana H.

Friendly service but for a pizza place, this was one of the worst, most overpriced I've ever had. I ordered the Hawaiian Pizza. It hardly had any cheese or sauce, the pie had air bubbles and was very doughy. The pie was the equivalent of about 2 slices of pizza and cost over $12. The place itself has a nicer atmosphere. Maybe their other food is better but I never tried it. I definitely won't get pizza here again. Convenient location inside mall if you are shopping. Overpriced.

Well this is just your average CPK. We got here on a Saturday afternoon and as expected the place was packed. Nevertheless we got a table in a timely manner and even got pretty good service. The food unfortunately didn't quite meet our expectations - I've been to a few CPKs in my life and I would rate this below average. Of course, if your other option is the mall food, then CPK is definitely the better choice!

BEST PIZZA PLACE in New Jersey! I ate at the bar on a busy Saturday night with my mom and sister. I had the BLT pizza, which is basically a salad on cheese pizza. It was delicious. My mom had the salmon and corn succotash. I had no idea CPK served salmon. She really enjoyed it. My sister ordered four cheese pizza on a thin crust, which was also delicious. We shared two amazing desserts: the chocolate souffle cake with a scoop of vanilla Haagan Daaz ice cream (the stuff that dreams are made of) and the apple crisp (divine). The restaurant was packed. The game was on the tv, which was good. There were families, couples, and singles eating there. This place is great for dates or for groups. I WILL BE RETURNING!

Not a bad place if you are in the mall and looking for something better than the food court. The spinach and artichoke dip with tortilla chips is my fav appetizer here. Pizzas are ok.....somewhat pricey. Wish the crust was a bit more crispier. Red velvet cake was good and their coffee was excellent. Server was very proficient, but a little too gabby for my liking.

We came here on a Saturday night. The entire mall was seriously packed to the gills. We put our name in and after a short wait, we were seated. Then, we waited for what seemed a long-ish period of time. We called it to the attention of our waiter, Justin. He immediately apologized,, raced away for menus, and brought back a complimentary appetizer to appease the hungry group. He didn't have to. He just did it. From then on, service was swift and superb. Justin was personable, funny and efficient. The food was quite good. Each of 5 people ordered something and we all shared an arugula and asparagus salad, a spinach flatbread, avocado appetizer and a pizza or two. All were well prepared, tasty and hot. What Justin couldn't know is that we were preparing for my Mother's funeral the next day and we were all very much depleted, on edge and sad. Sometimes it's just the fact that someone puts themselves out just that little extra bit that can lift your spirit. Justin did that for us.

I actually like this place but the management sucks. I waited to place an order by the take out counter longer than anyone should while the girl sat on a stool at the end of the bar chatting with other employees while i stood there waiting.

Don't know what the heck was going on last Saturday, but honestly, I really don't care either. I will say that the entire experience is A LOT worse during the dinner rush at 7 in the evening than at 4 pm. First off, the beeping guest pager was not working right (Haha, unintentional pun on "beeping"). It would beep when I was more than 5 steps from the entrance, even though the hostess assured me that it works all the way down the hall. The hostess who sat us made this HUGE fuss about how we didn't specify that we needed a highchair when we first put our names down, even though we have NEVER been asked about it that early. I think it's completely unprofessional to blame US for this. She put the three of us into a booth that would have fit 6 people (the only bright spot of the experience), and said that a highchair wouldn't fit, but they have a booster seat available (which worked fine). The usual crayons and paper menu was also provided. The server was nice, and we quickly ordered a milk for the little one and just some ice waters for us. We tried out the hawaiian pizza (even though it's not our usual order) and I got a BBQ chicken chopped salad (as usual). We also thought we'd try out the mac and cheese on the kid's menu to keep our little one occupied. The food was really disappointing. I was confused at how small my salad looked, and when I was finally able to flag down the server and asked about it, she said that she "thought you ordered the half size." At that point, I realized that unlike my other times, she did not ask me what size salad I would like, and I was too busy trying to save the table top from being drawn on to have noticed. She DID offer to switch my salad to a full sized one, but I was SO hungry and it took such a long time to flag my server down that I was just like... whatever. This was my choice, one that I bitterly regret, to this day. My husband's pizza was RIDICULOUSLY small. I mean... Other $14 pizzas are hanging off the side of the plate, and his didn't even make it to the inside rim. It was at least 2 inches (which in a circle is a big deal) smaller than the other pizzas we saw coming out of the kitchen. I don't know what the hell happened but quality control was completely lacking that day. The taste was only OK, since we tried something new, and didn't like it, I would have liked to ask the server to change it for our usual order (per their menu suggesting that we try something new)... but again, not being able to find your server just means that the kitchen will get less complaints (as most of us just throw up our hands and say "screw it"), and more bad Yelp reviews. The mac and cheese was absolutely atrocious. The pasta was cooked a bit under, which is OK if you're an adult as some people like that, but less acceptable when it's for a very young kid (and a baby, none-the-less). Maybe next time, we need to specify that the pasta be fully cooked, but I would have thought that to be obvious. Also, there was SO little cheese sauce, that it was just a macaroni dish. When we were finally able to find our server, we asked for more cheese sauce, and granted, she was good about bringing that. But again, not sure what was going on that day. At least their private bathrooms had a changing table, which I did appreciate (and use). Overall, this was an extremely disappointing meal and I will not be coming back to this location. I've had very good experiences at the Willowbrook Mall location, and will head out there from now on when the craving hits.

Stopped here today for a quick bite that would be kinda nutritious. Sat at the counter and ordered a cup of the pea and barley soup. I like pea soup. I mean, I really like pea soup. This is a good one. I think it's a veggie version because there's no hint of ham or any meat in it. Still good and hearty though. The half Thai Chicken salad was fun, and that's what I was looking for: a healthy fun salad. Lots of nuts, rice noodles, fresh greens, chicken, edamame beans and crunch. They charge $2.50 for about half an avacado added. I went for it and it was a good quality addition. Very good salad size for a half salad. I was stuffed and content. The folks next to me had pizza, and it looked delicious. Next time I'll do the pie. All looked good and was good. GO THERE!

I liked the quinoa and arugula salad, flat bread pizza and roasted veggie salad my husband had. The place is good in pizzas too. A regular to this place , whenever we come to GS Plaza.

3.5-4 stars. I've been here twice and enjoyed it both times. I had the Greek pizza last time. I love it how you can ask for thin crust. It was pretty decent. This time I had the Moroccan Chicken Salad which hit the spot. It has a little bit of everything and what I did like is that they didn't drench the salad in dressing like most places do. For some reason I hate that & I usually ask for dressing on the side. Even though it was pretty quiet this time, I felt like it took as long for the food to come out as it does on a busy day. I liked how the waitress knew her customers and catered to them accordingly. (ex: She asked if we wanted anything else but water, perhaps Oktoberfest on draft with our meal. An older couple came later & sat behind us - she asked if they would like a glass of wine with their meal, etc).

CPK is rather classy, considering it's a chain pizza restaurant at the mall. I like this place. The food is always tasty, though about half the times that I've been there, they've screwed up the orders. We had a going away party for my friend a couple years ago with about 10 people and they probably messed up 8 of the orders. But on my most recent trip, they didn't mess anything up, so I'll assume they've hired more attentive waitstaff. My favorite is the taco salad pizza, though the mushroom pizza is a close second. The pasta dishes I've tried here were good (for a chain). And we never had to wait very long for our food. The prices are average for the mall in Bergen County. The only downside to coming here is that there is usually a wait. And a long one. Your best bet is to come in on a weekday.

I'm really not a big fan of chain restaurants, I think Olive Garden & Macaroni Grill are gross....I'd rather microwave a can of beef-a-roni before going there to dinner. But I really love CPK. We live very close to the Paramus store in the Garden State Plaza and have been sampling the menu for the 15 years we have lived here. Some of our favorites: Sandwich: Grilled vegetables on rosemary foccacia bread. Salads: Original BBQ chicken: grilled chicken, tomato, avacado, cilantro, black beans, corn, jicama, crispy corn strips served with bbq and ranch dressing. Thai crunch: shredded cabbage with grilled chicken, edamame, crispy wontons in a spicy peanut dressing. Salad greens: Field greens, pear, blue cheese, candied walnuts, grilled shrimp in a balsamic vinagrette. All of these are fantastic!!! Pizzas: Our favorite is the Thai Chicken Peanut, my son loves the original pizza, my husband recently tried the Carne Asada and loved it. If you have never tried CPK, I suggest going on a Sunday when the retail shops in Paramus are closed so you will have easy parking and don't have to deal with the shopping crowds.

I find their pizza just average and way to over priced. I can get better pizza elsewhere and cheaper.

Being lied to and given a load of BS is not the way to treat customers. Been coming to this California Pizza Kitchen for years, but I've had my last straw. Usually the BS comes from the waitstaff/hostess where they would say that, "Sorry that your server got the order wrong, she being replaced anyway," but of course the same server is there day in and day out. What really got me this time was when we had a group of six people, and being told that we had to wait till the appropriate table that could fit six was cleared. The whole establishment was empty. There was no one eating there at the time, and there are no barriers to obstruct our view of that. Then another group of five asked to be seated, and they were seated immediately at a table that could fit six. Our party offered to even help them move the tables so we could join three two person tables together to fit six, but they told us that would be a violation of fire code. What kind of BS is that?!? After waiting 45 minutes at a largely empty California Pizza Kitchen, we left vowing never to patron this establishment again.

The menu was all over the place. An establishment called CPK shouldn't have Asian items on it, IMO. I just can't imagine they'd be any good, as it should be all about the pizza, no? Anyway...just had to get that one off. Their signature BBQ chicken pizza was ok, and didn't tast all that iconic as their menu implies, as did the TV special I was watching that featured this pizza and it's creator, who's not affiliated with the company any longer. Nothing bad about the pizza, yet nothing great, either. Service was good and attentive and the beverage was bubbly and refilled promptly. Go local if you want a slice. This place was meh.

I've been visiting this California Pizza Kitchen for several years. First and foremost, the pizza here is amazing - if you've never visited a CPK, let this specific one be your first experience. Nothing beats great pizza, quality beer on tap and a view of the mall's atrium for some quality people-watching. This California Pizza Kitchen is located at the back of the Garden State Plaza, which some would view as a good location, whereas others would consider it a huge pain (you'll have to park a significant distance away, and wait for the crossing guard to stop traffic). Due to the popularity of the place and its high profile location, you should expect to wait a good half hour or more during 'prime time', such as Friday afternoons, nights, and especially Saturdays (never mind Sundays - thanks to the idiotic Blue Law in Bergen County, where everything is closed on Sunday, making Saturdays a drudgery on New Jersians). California Pizza Kitchen's specialty are their signature pizzas - there is literally something for everyone there. For those who don't like anything or are plain boring, a plain pizza or one with traditional toppings could always be ordered. So, regardless of if you like barbecue chicken bits, pineapple, avocado, Italian sausage or fresh tomato on your pizza, there's most likely a "themed" pizza that has it. For a heart attack on a platter, try the BLT (yes, that does mean bacon, lettuce, tomato & mayo) pizza! Everything is prepared out in the open, which is a style I personally love as a customer...transparency is good, especially in the restaurant business. (Addition: April 2010): The cheeseburger pizza is here, and oh man, is it good. This California Pizza Kitchen is always busy and packed. My only complaint is that if you don't get a booth seat, you're going to get a tiny square table, and will be practically rubbing elbows with the people next to you - not to mention, you'll be talking over each other's conversations. If you're in a party of two, don't expect to ever get seated at a booth. Personally, I like some distance when I'm at a restaurant of any kind - even a fast food place, and you simply won't have that here. CPK's prices are reasonable. Personally, I can finish an entire pizza on my own, including an appetizer (highly recommend the dumplings) and something for dessert (key lime is my favorite). The pizza size is comparable to a small at Pizza Hut. The waiters & waitresses there are top notch - they never forget about you and are always very courteous. Overall, a great and very unique pizza place that is in one of the most crowded and hectic malls in Jersey.

They took my favorite dish OFF THE MENU! Can someone please explain to me why they would do that?? When I asked my waiter about it, he said the restaurant cut 20% of their menu!! Meaning that this is just one of their lazy ploys to cut costs!!! Never going back again. SO DISAPPOINTING.

My husband and I went to lunch here on Saturday 7/7. I had the warm peach salad which was very good. My husband had the chicken caesar sandwich which was ok. The place was very noisy and the tables are very close together. I could hear both conversations on either side of me and was difficult to have an enjoyable lunch.

We waited about 30 minutes for a table and the hostesses were super confusing about when our table was ready. After being told you're up you are asked to stand in a line and seated in that order. The place is tiny and our table was very crowded - so much so that I worried that others walking by would knock down our soda. The pizza was just ok - plenty to share or take home - but pricey for what you get. The waitress was on top of things and brought up multiple refills but then never came back with my wrapped up pizza to take home.

Typical California Kitchen restaurant. Been to a few in the area. This one lacks in service compared to the one in willowbrook.

Place has the best mix it up pizza. What I mean is that they definitely challenge the thought process as to what you put on a slice of pizza. The food is always delicious. The place is always clean and has a good atmosphere. The service is good but the place is always crowded and you feel like you are sitting on top of one another. Great for a lunch date.

I am not a big fan of chain restaurants but i have to say that i use to like this place. I haven't been back for a while. Today i decided to stop by since i was in the mall... and low and behold... they took the one item i really liked off of the menu! booo! So, I opted for the carne asaida pizza. it was okay nothing great, this place will never be the same for me again.

I don't normally go out to eat, but my friends decided to eat here. The restaurant looked clean and the workers were really friendly. But I was surprised when I saw that the price of one pizza pie was around $13. One of my friends decided to cut the price with me and we ended up order the Original BBQ Pizza. The pizza was flavorful. The sauce was delicious and wasn't runny. The only complaint was that the pizza dough wasn't thick.

This place is delicious!! It's not the healthiest and its not terribly unhealthy but if you get a salad you'll be fine! The salads are delicious as well as the pizza!! I like the Waldorf chicken salad with vinaigrette dressing and my favorite pizza is the BBQ chicken pizza! Its not too over priced and the place is clean! The waitresses and waiters are nice, helpful, and quick.

All their food is delicious - even their salads. My favorite is the Italian salad and I think it's just as good if not better than some of their pizzas. Though their pizza is great too. I liked the butter cake from here. Sometimes our waitress/waiter forgets to put in orders here. Only bad thing I can say.

The best cpk hands down. The only ones that rival are the midtown ones. Your order comes out fast and well made. Never had a problem at this cpk (The one on 56th tried to poison us... then we got free food for it) Go with the shrimp scampi and some focaccia bread. The best part. ALCOHOL!!! DRUNK SHOPPING!!!! coming home with things from the mall you didnt mean to buy.... awesome. I bought some hottness and sickness while drunk....

Pretty good salad and pasta. I enjoyed this spot for lunch one day in the mall. However, their service is a bit too spotty and the prices need to be knocked down a little bit, how about a dollar or two too much? Otherwise, I wouldn't think twice about coming back - but you know they do have good portions....

The food is delicious and the the décor/ambience befitting a much pricier restaurant. We always enjoy our meals here. Last time, I had their ravioli stuffed with sun-dried tomatoes. Portions were limited but the dish was delicious. You cannot avoid a 10-15 minute wait here, but it is well worth it.

I used to frequent this location all the time several years ago. But after a string of incidents, I will not return here. Twice we received pizza with a hair on it. Alright, not a huge deal, take it back and remake it....but taking 40 minutes to do so? Ridiculous. Then, while I was eating on a separate trip, a roach fell from the ceiling and LANDED ON OUR TABLE. When we alerted the staff to this, they said the store upstairs was having bug problems and laughed it off. Not acceptable.

Went here kind of late after a movie. We were able to sit down fairly quickly. Service was a little slow starting. Got the sangria, I do not recomend this. I got the half waldorf salad which was good. Others got the bbq chicken salad which was also very good. I had never been to a CPK before and did not expect the fast foodish feel of the decor/setup. The prices are fairly decent but not for that style of food. Might try again, the other salads looked great and the pizzas look good as well.

Just like Sleazeme P. says below... get the duck pizza. Oh, they have a new salad, the Thai crunch salad. That is yummy... forget about the Chinese chicken salad, the Thai crunch is here to stay! **edit** The peking duck pizza is no longer on the menu. I have verified that even a SD location removed it as well. Replace it with the Milan neopolitan pizza. It is a good substitute. So long peking duck... we had a good tour.

I worked for this place when it opened so I feel this place slightly dramatized my teenage years. I can tell you this though a white pizza with the various cheeses can make all those work memories melt away. Great for the family and great deserts. If you love pizza I would stop by.

I've tried this place many times even going to the Wayne location and i'm never impressed. Everything taste very plain to me. The only reason I keep going is because my girlfriend loves some pizza they make so I try to be nice and put up with it.

i normally wouldn't consider going to a pizza place in the mall, but CPK is nuts. the high rating i gave it comes from just one of their pizza topping creations, possibly one of the most ingenius toppings ever. the 'Peking Duck Pizza' Pan Roasted duck breast, Mozzarella cheese, soy-glazed Shiitake mushrooms, crispy wontons, slivered green onions and cilantro ginger Hoisin sauce. Hoisin sauce on pizza!!?! i was skeptic at first, a disbeliever. even as i was ordering it i was sure it was going to suck. but alas it was one of the best. the crispy wontons they pour over the pizza gives it a nice crunch. who would've thought bowls of crispy wontons they give you before a meal at a chinese restaurant would expand onto pizza tops. now that's cultural evolution.
