Always a good eating experience! The lasagna is awesome as are the Italian hotdogs. I cant get to the pizza because the sandwiches are so doggone gut busting great! I'm so glad that they have remained in the area and wish that they had dedicated parking.

Best Italian Chicken cheese steak around here. Everywhere makes them but there is something good about this place that makes skipping the cheaper places justifiable. Check it out.

My boyfriend has been a huge fan of Nico's for as long as I can remember. I have always been hesitant to try it, because of its location, but in an effort to step outside of my comfort zone, I tried it. Sure, you may have to walk around a few crackheads on the street to get from where you parked, somewhere on south orange avenue (nicos does not have its own parking), but the pizza is comparable to the amount of work it takes to acquire. The pizza is yummy and very very cheap, you can get a whole pie for $5 which is always enough for us to split. I feel like my review is a bit biased because I'm not the biggest pizza fan ever: so my four star evaluation is as follows - 1 star for the really great prices, 2 stars for the great tasting pizza, and 1 star for the quick service. I would have given it five stars if the outside wasn't so littered and unattractive and if there was parking.

I am surprised this is their first review. I stopped here once to try the 6 inch meatball hero $3.75. A masterpiece. Went back a second time to try it again. Still delicious! I am now trying a slice w sausage. Nyc quality thin crust. Also amazingly they have a really delicious corned beef sandwich (this coming from a native New Yorker).The classic Newark neighborhood only adds to the experience.

All the food at Nico's looks good and is priced right. I've been a customer for years, being on the road a lot and passing through on South Orange Ave or Sanford Ave. Being on a budget, Nico's is great. A whole 13 inch pizza is always $5. - that's enough for 2-3 people. If I have 3 in the car, I'll pick up 2 for lunch. Bottled beverages in the trunk, everyone is satisfied for $10. I often pick up 4 and bring 'em home. Wife doesn't have to cook, and the kids and they're friends can have at it - $20. Can't beat it. Note: Nico's is closed Sundays, and every other day opens at 11:30 AM closing at 8:30 PM when the steel shutters come down and crime goes up. It's a busy business area in a low budget community by a main intersection. Consistently excellent!
