Pretty decent Japanese food considering its in the middle of Newark. Service is fast and they're friendly. I usually order a bento box around lunch time and it fills me up for $10-$12. They gave me broiled tofu instead of fried and brown rice--- and vegetables in teriyaki sauce. I also had a salad with ginger sauce, miso soup (a little light and not so authentic), and california roll (that was a bit on the fishy side because of the seaweed). I also had fried shumai but I wish it wasn't fried--- I was on a healthy roll but failed with the two fried pieces! My friend got a hibachi vegetables and scallop dish and it was VERY tasty so I recommend it!

20 minutes and nobody has stopped by to take my order. I know it's lunch rush and all, but seriously, 20 minutes? No thanks. And I won't be back.

Not sure how many times we've passed this place before realizing it was a restaurant. Their business sign is this makeshift shaping of black tape on their window. Can't quite recall at this moment, but I believe the building or awning still had the previous business' name...which may have involved painting or printing or something. Anyway, I can't say this is top-notch sushi, but for the price, it's cool. They have sushi, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean cuisines on their menu! I'm usually wary about restaurants with way too many cuisine options, but after a few dinners here, testing out their varied options, I LOVE THEM! They do a pretty decent job at just about everything. I can't say I disliked anything that was served. Their prices, AMAZING!!! Again, nothing is top-notch or fancy or super authentic. Just good, familiar (maybe somewhat toned-down) Asian food with great prices. They're not that consistent in how they serve certain items, but they're still consistently tasty...if that makes any sense. For example, sashimi pieces on the same items may vary in cut or sometimes an item may be served slightly seared, other times, completely raw. Since we like it either way, we have no complaints. If you're the type who has preferences for one or the other, I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to just specify while ordering. One thing... Make sure you get the female server, whose always there. She's great. We had this young male server once and he bombed...taking forever to take our order, messing up our order, and more consumed with texting than with the needs of his tables. Lady Server saved that night by jumping in half way through our meal and taking over our table.

Do not come here and expect to be impressed. There is a decent selection of Korean, Chinese and Japanese food. It is a nice alternative to the local fast food. I agree with the previous poster who said Fuji was much better. The food was tastier and the service was friendlier.

What the hell happened to this place? It used to be Fuji Asia Cuisine but now its crap. Everything is crap here. The service, the food, the menu. The servers back then were so nice but now, it's no better than those take-out chinese places around the corner. They even changed the guy that makes sushi. Beware, it's a slow service during lunch time. It's only one chick that works there .. and she's the typical chinese food to-go type waitress. Total JERK. I could tell they took pride in their food before but now, they've just gone and screwed it all up with a huge menu, new management, and the terrible food. The Special Roll is the Yusi Roll. What is it? Its a sushi roll, with old tuna, salmon ... and guess what? It's deep fried. Yumm ... not. What is this? A Chinese/Japanese/Korean grease truck? I don't care for their cooked entrees. Their teriyakis, their bibimbaps, and soups. I ordered ramen, thinking they MIGHT use fresh ramen (I really didn't want to go all the way to NYC for ramen that day) but no. It was from the damn bag. I've been eating it all my life so I KNOW. 9 bucks for packaged ramen, really? Don't they feel ashamed at all? No meat, no veggies, just ramen, and 2 pieces of tiny cabbage and shiitake mushroom. I recently got katsu pork and it was ... soggy .. what the heck? How do you mess up katsu? My friend got this dumpling soup too and it was ... gross. It was dumpling with ... dough inside? Jesus, did they just buy frozen dough-filled dumplings? I used to love coming here because everyone was so friendly and the food was great. I mean .. my sashimi came on a bowl of ice with LEDs back then! But not anymore. Too bad the old management and workers are gone .. it used to be such a nice place to go to with awesome food. Oh well ... NYC is only 20-30 minutes away.

After having my Brew at my old college hangout, McGoverns, I was walking back to my car and noticed an establishment that looked like a sushi bar? It was in fact an Asian restaurant with Japanese, Chinese, and Korean options? Of course being a lover of Udan, I was determined to put this place to the test? The salad with Ginger sauce for starters was like they had a garden in the back and the Special: Spicey Seafood Udan was delightful and tastey. Now of course this was a wednesday (WoW promotion for the reviving Halsey street section of Newark). There was only two pairs of College students and a Senior. I was three and service was fast and friendly (maybe it was near closing, but waitress said: Don't rush, enjoy). I would return to explore other parts of the menu, when attending Newark museum and library programs.
