Love this place! By far my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Scottsbluff area! The pork chili is by far the best thing on the menu...so no matter what you order make sure to have it smothered! Prices are pretty steep...but it is well worth it! My only complaint is that they won't share their pork chili recipe.

This is a Scottsbluff mainstay and the parking lot is always packed, but the food is mediocre. There are very little seasonings and the pork chili is woefully lacking in pork. Not awful but not anything memorable...

I do not live in NE anymore, however this used to be a MUST STOP for me. I was here this past weekend and I was very surprised at their very HIGH prices. I live in Denver and I was shocked to see how much their food is compared to Mexican restaurants in this area! The portions are also a lot smaller than I remember. Won't be a must stop for me anymore. :(

Everyone has their opinions on which of the local Mexican restaurants are the best. This is our family favorite for a sit-down experience. Not a huge menu, but everything is good. We love the enchiladas and the taco salad.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in the area. Even when I moved away to college, it was the only place I would always make sure I visited when back home for the weekend or summer. Staff is fantastic and make you feel more than welcome and comfortable. I can't even describe how delicious the food is - you simply have to try it for yourself! I recommend the enchilada plate with a margarita on the rocks! Plus, I've never had pork chili that compares to that of El Charrito! I know people who have "care packages" of the stuff shipped to them from across the state!

Eight of us for dinner last night first time here. Wouldn't recommend. Service nonexistent place order at the counter find a table and wait for your number to be called. Food was bland one couple had the taco salad little to no meat but filled with rice. No chips or salsa available at the table.

Over priced, and not on the 'going back for more' list. Food was bland. Nice atmosphere though. Ordering process is weird.

This is a great place for really good Mexican food. They have a nice bar and a big event room. Its a must have when I'm in town. It's about $$

I really hate to drop this place a fat deuce - but I couldn't give one more star in good conscience Let's start with the good: - Plenty of booze (good booze) - Super nice peeps running the show - Decent atmosphere +1 for childhood nostalgia However.... The menu is cheap. The food options are minimal. The pork chili is sometimes absent of said pork And the most important thing - basically everything here is made out of cheap ground beef If you are looking for Mexican food - you will NOT find any of the following: carnitas, carne asada, pollo asado, adobada, fajitas, street tacos, el pastor, etc. etc. - They do not exist here. If this place spruced up the menu with more quality meat it would be a 5/5

I'll start by saying the people who own the place are very courteous. The margaritas are great, especially if you like tequila! :-) but the prices are extremely high!!! This is a place we go to once a year just because of the cost. For a family of three we spent $60!! Sometimes the food is spicy, sometimes not. I don't know why there can't be consistency.... Also for the price there should be chips and salsa included?! Please..

Chips are not good. Meal was good tho. Pork chilly is very tasty. Not from here, just here for work. Had better had worse, just a little pricy.

Giving this a "local 4". And I don't mean lo-cal! Been here many times over the years. Went today and had their"famous" chili smothered enchiladas. Cheezy, good-sized, ample amounts of pork chunks but less spicy than I remember. Considering there isn't much choice outside of chain eating, id recommend it. Don't expect cheaply priced food here though.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
