Great food! I especially like delicious fried rice and hot pepper shrimp out of the ordinary!

Was in for lunch right at noon, and it was one of the worst experiences in recent memory. The table was sticky, the flatware was sticky, my soda cup had something crusty glued to it. The Sriracha bottle on the table had been filled with some knockoff sauce, runnier and darker red than the real thing. It was kind of a peppery ketchup, and lacked the characteristic sweetness of Sriracha. No steamed rice. The "fried rice" was nothing of the sort, but a greasy orange mixture of rice and pallid peas. The egg roll I sampled was rubbery and oddly undercooked. After sampling a couple pieces of flavorless sesame chicken, I dumped my plate and went for the Mongolian grill instead. The choices at the grill were extremely limited, but I wouldn't hold that against it if they were good. Unfortunately, most of the of items looked like they'd been sitting out far too long. I tried to scoop up some rice noodles, and the entire pan came up as one stiff, crusty entanglement. No thanks. The large dining room was mostly deserted. The staff was friendly, and the price was low, but neither of these is enough to entice me back. I'll be shocked if this place is still open six months from now, there are just too many better options within five minutes driving. "Yuck" doesn't begin to describe this experience.

Food was not fresh! Selection was mediocre at best. So quality over quantity isn't even relevant at this point lol. I would suggest going to China Buffet or even A+. Way too many buffets with better selections & fresher food to subject yourself to this place. Do your stomach a favor, don't do it! (One star only because I can't go any lower)

Got there right at 11am opening. Had the place to ourselves. Food wasn't bad, just nothing special. Mongolian grill did not look appetizing with very little selection. Hot tea was served in a stainless creamer and was served tepid. Got cold quickly. Hot and sour soup was not good at all, like it had been diluted and thickened with corn starch, just bland. My friend's shrimp was mostly breading. The entrees were good enough, but you got the feeling everything was factory-prepared with no real cooking going on in the kitchen. Too many better places than this. We won't be back.

If there was a lower then one star I would have given it. First of all you walk in and there is food stuck to the floor. The hot and sour soup pot was empty and the bottom of the pot looked like it was so pitting there for days. Nothing on the food line looked really fresh. The egg roll that I had was like rubber. I had the fried rice which was a mistake. That night I ended up on the pot!!! NEVER EVER will I eat there again

Nasty... the Mongolian grill is two rusty woks and a very limited selection of options. The rest of it was okay for a plain Jane buffet type place. Lady working was nice. I wouldn't go back again. There are much better on 114th and Dodge area.

SHOCKINGLY BAD! Yes. I went in the evening at about an hour before close. Mistake! The food looked like it had been sitting around for two days. Everything on the buffet is ice cold. The rice and noodles are crusted over! Yuk! Unless you are the health department and want to shut this place down... Skip it! Shameful. That is all

Like most days, the family and I were driving around town trying to decide what to eat for dinner. After multiple suggestions from me and my daughter, my husband started to laugh and drive down 84th street. He would not tell me where he was taking us because he wanted it to be some sort of surprise I guess. Well, as we turned in to Canfield Plaza, I knew where we were going. It was one of the first places my husband and I ate Chinese food together in college. He said we were going there for more nostalgic reasons than for the food. Okay, fine. The food. There's lots of it, but if you compare here to China Buffet, there's WAY more food at China Buffet. We were there pretty early, so the food was still fresh looking and hot. I got the lo mien, chicken with broccoli, mushrooms, some sushi, their donut things, an egg roll, and a crab Rangoon. My husband mostly ate crab and shrimp. My daughter ate just the sushi. Out of all my selections, I must say the mushrooms were the best thing on my plate. Not like the other foods were horrible, but they didn't taste any different from any other Chinese place I've been too. Their egg rolls taste as if they add cinnamon to it or something. They're not bad, but nothing I would come to this restaurant to get. Their crab Rangoon's were okay, nothing spectacular. The sushi was just alright, but it seemed as if they don't make it themselves. My husband said that the pepper shrimp were good, and he did go and get a few plates of them. The crabs he said were also very good and my daughter ate some of it, so it must not have been too horrible. Atmosphere. Well, it's quite a bit more bland than China Buffet. In fact, it could possibly use a renovation. Their bathroom wasn't the cleanest either, and with only one handicap stall, I found my self trying to squeeze my roller aid in with me in the smaller bathroom stall. Service. The service here was okay. The waitresses were pretty friendly considering there are many Chinese establishments where customer service is lacking. I never had to call on them to refill my drink! The only qualm I have about their service is that the waitresses, on their down time, would eat but if a customer were to walk in the front door, they would get up, seat them, and get their drinks. I thought that if you were eating, you should be on an official break. And if you come back from break, you wash your hands and then work. But who knows. Maybe it's different in the food industry than in the nursing world? Would I come back here again? Maybe. The mushrooms were really good plus it's in a convenient location.

This buffet I feel tried to make an attempt at pleasing multi flavors and Americanized culture foods. The crab legs were of very poor quality and the egg drop soup was so thick it actually tasted greasy. They had what has to be microwave pizza on the buffet which frightened me...but tried it anyways and it was chewy. The food was very much below par and frankly I think it needs to be checked for cleanliness and if the food itself being served is fresh before cooking. I liked the veggies, but anything with meat was bland, chewy, and/or just off. This place should be called the Pits of the World buffet because it by no means is top of anything.

Top of the World, huh? More like bottom of the barrel. You may as well have put up some pictures of the food you were serving because the paper you would have printed them on would have had more flavor. Some food was on the low end of OK...but...but nothing it was not good. I fill my stomach just because it was a buffet and I wanted to try to get my moneys worth. The food had no fresh taste...it had a funk taste. And then they had mac n cheese and pizza...which somehow both sucked. They mac n cheese was from a box and the pizza made Chucky Cheese sound appetizing...it was also from a box or some sort of coffin. So no...top of the world this place is not unless you are talking about the underworld and Hades wouldn't keep this place down there. So this place gets a single star...just because I can't give it no stars at all. Eat up somewhere else Minions.

I had read mixed reviews; didn't know what to expect. Got there right at 4pm; the start of the dinner menu. There was a lot to choose from. The crab legs were very small. Go to China Buffet for crab legs. All the dishes I tried were good/interesting, save for, strangely enough, the Hot Sour Soup; it was the least appetizing thing I had. My companion was happy to find a buffet that made at least a close approximation to Snow Shrimp; he's been looking a long time. Things could have been bolder, flavor-wise, but we realize that we are in the minority in that thinking. The prices were competitive with the other buffets. I feel that it is a good alternative.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
