Came in for lunch today and found that service was MUCH better than my last experience. Restaurant was about half full, but our servers were much more attentive and food came out in a reasonable and rational manner. Sushi was very excellent today! I think they have some of the best appetizers - my favorites are the shrimp tempura, spring rolls, and the seafood udon is very good! For rolls, we ordered the spicy crabmeat hand roll, eel and avocado hand roll, and asparagus salmon makimono. For nigiri, we ordered crabmeat, salmon, tuna, and mackerel. The quality was very good and the presentation is always exceptionally nice. It's a must that I update this review because this experience was much better and must be rewarded for that.

Ive been here twice now, and Ive noticed a big negative about this sushi place. The service is HORRENDOUS. Every time I've gone here with my wife, we'll be seated promptly and then left to rot for 30 minutes before anyone takes our order sheet. Then its another 20 minutes while you wait for your food to be made since its all made to order. The last time I was in here, I filled out the sheet, and left it on the edge of the table so they could take it and get my order made. That's not how it worked though, 3 of the waitstaff walked by, looked at the sheet, saw it was filled out, and promptly ran away before i could tell them it was ready. It finally took me waving the sheet around like a flag for someone to take it and put my order in. It was like I was surrendering to hunger. 20 minutes later when our food was delivered, 3 of the rolls we ordered were missing. The sushi is okay, it's not great, its not terrible. It's served at proper temperature, and I've never gotten sick here so thats a plus in their favor. At the end of the day, if you want all you can eat sushi at 15$ a plate, and don't mind waiting forever, this is the place to go. If you want good sushi, and good service: go to blu. If you do choose to go here: fill out 2 of the sheets, and as soon as they bring you your first plate, give them the second one.

What is this place and how do they stay in business? All kidding aside, this places confuses me, my college friends and I when sick of the dining hall come here and order all the sushi we can handle for about $15 a plate. I know its not quality sushi, but for what it is it's more than decent. There are definitely better options for nice sushi within walking distance of tokyo sushi, but for a relatively cheap lunch its more than fine. I've eaten here several times and each time it leaves me wondering if I really enjoy it or if it will be last time I eat there.

Came here once for the All you can eat sushi. The food was average, good amount with the price you paid for it. The service was very bad, by the time I walked into the door, they didn't greet or give a smile. I had to wait for 20 minutes just to get the menu from the server, very unprofessional. Not all the servers can speak English when we had questions. The only highlight dishes I recommended here are the sashimi and green tea ice cream.

I got take out from here. The sushi was okay can't say I was impressed by it tho. They gave a decently large pieces of sashimi white tuna and salmon on my take out order tho.

Sorta slow service. Sushi was fresh. Wife's rolls kept falling apart. Couldn't substitute salmon for tuna. We don't like salmon. But the waitress not knowing did it anyway since she didn't know. So that was nice of her. Not bad place for a quick bite for lunch!

This place should be just called "China sushi," I can hear my people (chinese) chatting about how Jeremy lin needs to step up his game... My stomach feels like a fish tank every time eating at Tokyo. Bring Tums! This is a great place to satisfy your sushi craving as you can eat as much as you like. If you don't expect quality food, then you're never disappointed here :D sometimes quantity beats quality, like money

Really a 3+. Anytime you can get a wide selection of sushi for an all you can eat price of $19.99 (Mon-Thur) is pretty outstanding. Price goes up on Fri-Sat to $22.99 Great selection - Soup, salad, appetizer, nigiri, hand rolls and special rolls are all included in your price. If you want sashimi, add $2.00 to your overall price. Service was good. Waitress explained everything and showed us how to order. Everyone gets a 8X11 sheet to order off of. Just mark the number of pieces you want for each item, turn it in and the chefs roll/prepare everything fresh. My initial order was for 30+ pieces and it came out fairly quickly. Taste was decent, Not the best sushi I have had, but extremely good value for the price. Definitely a place to go back to when I have a hankering for a lot of sushi at a reasonable price. Oh, and the only slight drawback is trying to find parking in the evening in and around the Old Market.

The Sushi AYCE deserves 5 stars! Wow, what a bargain for the AYCE! $19.99 for all this?! Shocked of the quality I got. From Rainbow Rolls, soft shell crab rolls, Nigiri, and Kalbi short ribs. I would've given it 5 stars if my martini tasted better, and service was just a little better. I would go back any day for the bargain.

Service was outstanding. Sat at the sushi bar the Chef made us what he wanted. It was amazing

Sashimi was all quite excellent. We had discussed why there was an additional fee for sashimi for both of us when only one of us was going to have sashimi. He said they have to or people take advantage of the system. I said that's great but we're honest plus my wife is pregnant and will not be having any raw items. The owner conceded and gave us a discount 'this one time.' So...it was nice they did that but sad they have a rule like that in place to begin with. Eat what you order!

Worth the $ for all you can eat sushi! Service excellent!!! Pretty good variety of sushi selections! Went to eat lunch Sun at 1pm, 19.99 per person. Family of 4 ordered 8 different kinds of special sushi rolls, 3 orders shrimp tempura, 2 orders of edemame, x4 mackerel sushi, x2 white tuna sushi and x4 miso soup (delicious) and x2 orders of grilled calamari with drinks!!! Appetizers came fast despite a good number of people in the restaurant at the time of our visit, pleasant surprise! My family loves sushi and boy we were stuffed to our bones! Black dragon rolls-the best!!! Highly recommended sushi go - to place. We will be back again!!! Restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere!

C Came here on A Monday. The place was not very busy, for dinner. Coming from Los Angeles, I didn't come in with high expectations primarily being all you can eat restaurant, although I must say I have been to some really high quality AYCE places before, just wouldn't expect it in Omaha. Came in and sat at the bar. Was greeted and attended to right away. Beer was cold. This place is all you can eat. You get a list and order what you wish for the first round. First thing I noticed was how small their nigiri list was. No yellow tail? No albacore? It's ok, like I said, didn't expect much. I samples a bit, Miso Soup - which I was not served. The forgot about it. Ocean salad, which is basically wakame. It was good. Nigiri - tuna, salmon, squid, eel, omelet Rolls - a spicy tuna and a jalapeño roll, (which they did not get me, gave me some kind of roll with spicy tuna on top. Hand rolls - one spot tuna and one spicy salmon. All of the items were I would say rated 3/5 stars, except the wakame. The nigiri first of all was loaded with rice. Probably with intentions to carb you up. The fish was "ok", certainly not fresh. Previously frozen I'm sure, but didn't ask. The squid I must say was nicely massaged. Was not tough at all. The hand rolls were a joke. The nori certainly was not toasted, and probably not stored properly to keep as dry as possible. The result is a chewy wrap. Not good. The spicy tuna and salmon had no texture at all. They use a filler like bento flakes presumably to add crunch or texture, but I did not like it al all. The rolls had minimal fish. Flavor contributions primary by sauces. Overall 3 stars because the price is right for what you get. If you are new to sushi, or eat on occasion, try something more quality. Price tag would be much higher, but certainly worth it. Blue is "better" and down the street.

The waiter here is so sweet. Saw I was downing the orange soda and offered me a piece of his orange crush bubble gum! Now that is service! Also I heard it's ran by the owners of the now closed wasabi sushi. Anyways you can't go wrong with all you can eat sushi for $12.99 at lunch!

  • Rona L.

Don't come here if there is a wait. Service is horrible. I was one person for the bar and the (Chinese) hostess seemed to care more about collecting money than worrying about the line of people just waiting to get in line to get in line... Food could be great for all I know. NO BUSINESS should ever compromise great service for products (Food in this case).

This is probably the best all you can eat sushi in Omaha. For the price of $22.99/person, you can enjoy various rolls, nigiri, appetizers, sashimi (salmon sashimi is the best in my opinion) and ice cream. I personally think the rolls are not as good because they are filled with rice. I get most of my money from the sashimi and appetizers. Their shrimp tempura is great, light and crispy. Their yakitoki (when done right) is wonderful. There are also chicken katsu, short ribs, fried squid. The seafood soup and the avocado salad are delicious. To top it off, their green tea and azuki ice cream are so yummy. The only thing I don't like when coming here is finding parkings. However, it's the Old Market after all, so it's busy all the time. I would recommend this place to all sushi lovers who want the most for their money.

I don't know if this is the best sushi Omaha has to offer or there is a sheer lack of sushi connoisseurs in Omaha because the stellar rating this establishment is getting on yelp is far from my boyfriend and I experienced during our brief visit in Omaha. We are both from the Hawaiian islands. I am Japanese and have lived in Japan prior. I have experienced all kinds of quality of sushi but never have I felt as disappointed as I did when I left Tokyo Sushi. It was a mixture of bad preparation and terrible service. I have had experienced very good quality AYCE sushi in landlocked continental US states for the exact same price, so there is no reason why this sushi was so ....unappealing? Unsatisfying? Discouraging? First off, our waitress was either new to her job (which would be acceptable), did not know how to speak professionally, or flat out did not care about the vibe she was giving us. I am very tolerant and lenient with service but I was feeling pretty negative feelings from the start. My boyfriend and I had decided that we were going to do the AYCE sushi and had filled out an order sheet. The food came out in a timely and appropriate manner (we had ordered quite a bit for the typical two person party). The appetizers and food from kitchen came out first and we were satisfied with it, I had asked for an avocado salad and we shared an order of gyoza and chicken wings. Which were all very yummy and satisfactory but still not amazing. Then our sushi order came out. And we had gotten quite a bit. This is where things got very disappointing for us. When you order a nigiri typically the rice should not overpower the fish, regardless of price point. Always adjust your rice according to your fish, especially if it is AYCE, smaller pieces could be easier to make. Anyways, the rice was at an overwhelming amount. Which was quite the disappointment. The spicy tuna was also at subpar quality as it was overpowered by mayo and really, I'm not quite sure what I was tasting while I was eating it... I'm probably never coming back to Omaha, but if I ever do, I'm never coming back here.

All you can eat sushi buffet. The initial service was pretty fast! I really enjoyed the appetizers. Perfectly salted edamame, miso soup, and yakitori skewers. The short rib was also really tasty! The sashimi tasted fresh, however I wasn't that impressed with the sushi rolls. There was entirely too much rice. Usually salmon skin rolls are very crunchy- here the skin was soggy. Really wasn't good. Overall I didn't really this place. Definitely great appetizers but disappointing rolls. Overall service was also very sluggish and required much effort to get the waitress back to our table. after the initial presentation of the food- I had to physically get up and talk to the waitress to order dessert and to get our check.

Ah yes, we got to take a trip to Tokyo! Tokyo Sushi that is, one of our favorite food places. Yes, we have a lot of favorite food places. Is there anything wrong with that? I think not. This weekend was a chill weekend where I just hung out with the family and maybe I took that promoter hat off. I was going to put it on, but it's nice to just be Danell sometimes! My daughters and I feasted with some friends just after noon at this hot spot. Now, let's talk about Tokyo Sushi. If you are a sushi fan I definitely recommend this place. Can you say "All you can eat"? I can. We were first introduced to the concept of all you can eat sushi at a former restaurant called Wasabi Sushi and I was happy to find out that the owner was a partner at Wasabi. I must make it clear that I am not a food reviewer or connoisseur of any kind. I just know what I do and don't like. As I said, we met just after noon and I was surprised to see that it was not super busy, especially since the Madness of March was going on. As we walked to the restaurant we even saw someone getting interviewed for what I assume was basketball related. We sat down and put our orders in as usual and awaited our wonderful sushi to be delivered to our table. Of course we had to start off with some Edamame as an appetizer. Then... The good stuff! I mean the really good stuff! Spicy Crab, Boston Roll, Crunchy, etc...Oh boy, do we love our sushi. This is another place where you not only get some really great food, but you get the bang for your buck. Kids under 4 and under are free, kids under 12 are $7.99 and adults are $12.99(Lunch Menu)! We began to eat and the food was more than good and was really satisfying the craving that we tend to often get. I will patronize this place as long as it is around. While we were eating the place started to fill in and there was probably only a couple of open tables. This is what you would expect from an all you can eat sushi spot. These guys behind the bar are the real deal and create a quality product as far as I'm concerned. They are always hard at work to give the people what they want. I always wonder how they can churn out so much food with only 3 chefs. That brings us to my only negative remark about the establishment. Sometimes there is a wait for your food and sometimes you have to remind the wait staff of what you have order, but are missing. In most cases it isn't that bad of an issue aside from one visit that we had. Other than that we love the place and we get the treat of creamy ice cream as dessert.

Great place for all-you-can-eat sushi, sashimi, tempura, seaweed salad, and much more! Great food and fast service. Here's a list of items I really liked: Sushi/roll: crazy salmon, fire dragon, black dragon, spicy salmon nigiri Sashimi: white tuna, salmon Others: grilled chicken wings, ocean salad, yakitori, squid tempura

Boyfriend and I were walking through old market looking for a place to eat and decided to eat at Tokyo. We got seated right away, it was about 3pm on sunday. Honestly, for AYCE sushi this place is pretty damn delicious. We ordered so much sushi, we struggled so hard to finish eating everything because they do charge if you leave more than 2 pieces of sushi on the plate. Anyways, the sushi won and we paid 5 bucks to take the leftovers home. The deluxe rolls are the best, the simple sushi rolls were not as great and next time im in Omaha, I won't waste my stomach space with those. Service not so impressive. This was our only meal ALL day. I kid you not. Make sure you are HUNGRY to make your money worth it!

I was part of a group of seven during New Years Day (no automatic gratuity at this size). The price was fair at $18.99, adding sashimi to the selection would add $4 per person. We hit the spread on appetizers, rolls and nigiri. The short and dirty of this would be: it's a slightly high quality version of Wasabi for Omaha sushi goers, which I believe to be closed now. I'm not 100 percent sure, but if the management from Wasabi is running this venue, they've learned from some of the pitfalls there and improved them here. The menu definitely has that feel. For drinks, we tried their Scorpion Bowl ($12). It's advertised to serve two but unless you have a high tolerance for alcohol, call a cab. It's made with 11 types of alcohol and comes on fire. It's sweet and you can't taste any alcohol, you've been warned. Appetizers were par for the course, nothing stood out particularly as a must try. The one item that stuck out was their house dressing (carrot & ginger) seemed thinner in consistency than others but the taste was there. Rolls were what one would expect from an AYCE venue. If one were to compare the uniqueness of Blue and traditional of Sakura Bana, this would be in the middle. The rolls seem to be heavier than other establishments. The service from the staff was excellent. They were very courteous and accommodating. They did a good job up selling which is why we tried the Scorpion Bowl, which I would recommend. They also checked in regularly to make sure your experience was going well and see if anything was needed. All in all, if you're looking for quantity versus quality this is a good spot to go. There are many desirable items on the menu (93 for dinner). This is a place I'll come back to, lunch is what I would be curious to experience versus the dinner.

My favorite sushi/sashimi place. Better than any other in town. Lunch is 12.99 and u can have whatever u want on the list. (They have a long list of menus u can order for lunch and dinner buffet) Dinner is somewhere around $22-24. Cant remember exactly. My fav dishes are - avocado salad, seafood udon, salmon, grilled squid, chicken katsu, shrimp Tempura, seaweed. I dont particularly like their rolls. I like to eat sashimi than sushi/nigiri. I've had sashimi at Hero and Blue sushi, Tokyo is the best for the price. U can have as many salmon pieces as u like!! No limits. I love this place!!! Since I found this place, I dont go to Blue or Hero. Sorry to say to the owners of Blue and Hero...but thats the truth!

Uh...um...yea. This place is basically Wasabi but it's not! It's located close to my house, in the Old Market next to Drastic Plastic, where I get my Godzilla and zombie related stuff from. That ends the differences. I enjoy both places and their sizeable menu to load up from. The format Is simple: All you can eat, come in, sit down, fill out paper, have that food-sex done to your mouth, toss money at them, don't feed the animals, and be on your merry way. The prices for admission vary depending on if it's the weekend and you want to dabble in their sashimi selection. $20 per person is normal stripper prices and so that seems to work here because yes. $22 is the price on the Friday and Saturday if you get a craving for some raw, delicate slices all up in deez lipz! Dining arrangements are nice. A blue glow emits from the sushi bar, itself, making me wonder when the poles will drop down and the Jersey Shore soundtrack will start bumping. I like my all you can eat sushi with less hawt grinding...actually that sounds brilliant. Stamp and ship that. The rest of the restaurant is spacious and clean and a soft muzak thing going to hide the sound of squishy chewing noises, jaw clicking, heavy breathing, and overall blobbery blob gyrations that occur when you go for round 3 or 4. The sushi itself has its hits and misses but I believe it comes down to people's personal tastes. Some things clicked with me better than it did with my dinner mate, D'Brickashaw the Ex-Wife eating T-Rex. I'm sure everyone will have that same dynamic. Their menu is plentiful so there's something for all to love. Sure it's not top shelf, high end Saigon nose-biting prostitute quality sushi but I feel it more than meets and exceeds the "you get what you pay for" mantra that most Saigon nose-biting prostitutes go by. Beautiful Bear-Traps is what I like to call them. Mmmyep. I recommend!!!! In your facehole!!! Eat up, Minions!!

Good itself wasn't too bad. But the the piece of paper with you order printed using inedible ink, is directly contacting your sushi! Remember that when you eat!

I came for Happy Hour and boy was I happy! It's AYCE off a special Happy Hour menu for less than $15 and everything I had was delicious. Granted its not the best sushi I've ever eaten, but its not bad by any means. It's good cheap eats and lots of it. Will definitely be back when in Omaha. The best part is HH runs through midnight on Weekends! There were lots of drunk people stumbling their way in for munchies, as well as a basketball team after a game. That's another good thing, it can seat parties from intimate groups of 2 to 20 people! When it's not happy hour (and even when it is) you can order off their huge menu which includes about 5 pages of items in tiny print (lots of options!) The decor is very minimalist but tasteful and modern. I felt very much at home. The only thing a little strange was that we didn't have a single waiter - we had about 5. Each one came around and that made for prompt service. Also, dessert is included and their green tea matcha was one of the best I've ever had!

Tokyo has become one of my staples here in Omaha. Ayce made-to-order sushi. Downtown. Affordable. Decent variety of sushi and rolls. Tokyo has been my go-to sushi fix ever since it's been open--I've come here for random lunches, dinners, and in-betweens; I've celebrated after finals here and I've mourned after finals here. Tokyo's been through it all with me, all while feeding me ungodly amounts of sea critters too. They also have a nice variety of appetizers that are just as good as, if not slightly better, than the sushi--gyoza, age tofu, shrimp tempura, and the chicken wings are the ones that stand out the most. And yeah, they tend to go overboard with the rice-to-fish ratio, but for their prices I guess they gotta fill us up somehow and still cut a profit haha. At around $16 (tax+tip) for lunch it's a steal, but around $25 (tax+tip) for dinner it might not really be worth it unless you're planning on eating at least $100 worth of sushi.

I had a groupon so my wife and I went to Tokyo Sushi for all you can eat sushi. The inside was pretty clean and the decor had Asian influence like every other sushi restaurant. The sushi menu is actually pretty impressive for an all you can eat sushi restaurant. The beer was rather cheap as well. The sushi itself was fresh and made very well. Their boneless short ribs were great and I must have had about 5 orders of it. It's just good, seared, beef. With the decent prices at happy hour, I believe around $13 for all you can eat sushi, my wife and I will definitely be going back.

Super delicious! I finally have a great place to get some really great sushi! They are super affordable, great atmosphere and also have a variety of all you can eat options! Great drink options and prices too! Gyoza, miso soup...all of it-yummy!

Since this is the first place I ever had sushi I might be a little biased... but this place has the best sushi I've had. Ever. Period. I am a major fan of their tempura - their batter is really smooth and it gives the tempura this silky crunch; I definitely recommend the yam and the shrimp tempura. Also their shrimp nigiri is to die for... for picky eaters their chicken teriyaki is delicious -- there's also yummy chicken katsu. I can easily see people with SPD enjoying either dish.

The pricing at this place is a little confusing to try and explain. Lunch and Happy Hour are $12.99 but the Happy Hour menu is VERY limited. Matt and I did it once and will be paying full price for the dinner menu from now on if we can't make it during lunch (I'm sorry, I cant remember how late lunch runs but we usually go around 2:30 so it fills us up for lunch and dinner). Dinner is around $20 and if you would like to add just fish on a stick (can't remember the technical term.... sashimi maybe??) to dinner it costs about $23 which is still cheaper then a meal at most sushi restaurants. The coolest thing about Tokyo Sushi is the way the food is served! While it is all you can eat it is definitely NOT a buffet. When your host or server brings you to your table they hand you a checklist of all of the items they serve and you check off what ever and how ever many of what you want. The check list is given to an employee and then made to order for you. When you finish what you've order you just check off more items and the process starts again!! I very highly recommend the dragon roll, the sauce is quite as good as at Beijing Tokyo (which I'm pretty sure is physically impossible) but it is the best roll I've ever had. When your too stuffed to move take a deep breath and order some of their ice cream. It is home made and AH Maze Ing and they have some really unique flavors. Ive tried green tea, red bean and cookies and cream. There have been several times Matt has nearly had to roll me out of the restaurant with chipmunk cheeks. :) One word of caution, we have been told before that if you do not finish eating what you've ordered you may be charged extra but it has never happened to us. I think they can easily understand a few pieces here and there but dont want people throwing out entire rolls. I was eating here a couple times a week for quite a while but have now gotten it down to every couple weeks which Matt appreciates. I have also systematically dragged friends there so I don't look like a nut and they have all loved it as well. My one complaint about this place is the location. Being in the Old Market parking is always scarce and its a bit of a drive from just about anywhere we normally are which for other couples may make it more of a special night out restaurant then an every day staple. LOL. The staff here is always very prompt and on point. They don't bug you constantly but are always there when you need them which is crucial for this type of operation. I'll let you in on a secret, this is the only place in the metro I have been to more then 3 times and have never refused to tip for poor service which I think says a lot. Overall, I love this place!! The service is great, the price is unbeatable and my only complaint is the location. Be sure to look for deals as I know they participate on LivingSocial and DailyDealOmaha!

Service was sub par. Took them a long time to keep coming to our table. If you don't order one roll at a time your sushi comes back warm. Didn't feel so hot from eating the fried rolls so I got the Miso soup and that was really good. Rolls aren't made the best and fall apart before you touch them. But for the money we paid here we probably won't come back, we will just go to Crave or Blue from now on.

All you can eat Sushi for the win!! My boyfriend and I decided to try Tokyo Sushi out on our anniversary since we are seasoned veteran's to Wasabi Sushi. My first impression when we walked in was that it was so nice and modern. Dim lighting, ample seating with booths, tables, and modern decor on the wall. The service is pretty good, I would recommend writing nicely on the menu though, we got the wrong number of shrimp but she politely brought out the proper number later. One of the characteristics about this restaurant I noticed right away was the attention to detail and creativity the sushi chefs had. Each dish was nicely presented in different ways and with an artistic quality to it. I loved it!! It's such a pleasure to see good food pleasantly presented. My favorite part of eating AYCE sushi is the sashimi!! My boyfriend doesn't care too much for it, but I have a soft spot for sushi due to my poke loving tummy growing up in Honolulu. I especially love Salmon Sashimi and they were smooth and fatty and tasted delicious! A perfect win! Here are our favorites: Miso Soup Crunchy roll--with avocado, salmon, masago, and mayo-- we'll chow down 3 orders of them Eel Avocado roll Shrimp tempura roll -- Shrimp Tempura, avocado, masago and mayo Shrimp Tempura Salmon Sashimi and topping it off with dessert of Green Tea Ice Cream. It's the perfect palette cleanser after a yummy meal that was certainly a treat for us. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant! The rice to sushi ratio it a little high on the rice side but for the price and what you get for it, it's still worth it. :)

AYCE sushi, ya'll. AYCE sushi. Last places I was able to get all you can eat were Vancouver, BC and good ol' Studio City, CA. How does Omaha stand up??? Well, right off the bat it's half the price. Actually, probably a third. $12.99! Not a bad deal. But what do you get? Well, you get some pretty decent rolls (maki) and nigiri. And the selection of appetizers is great, too. I went with the edamame, shrimp tempura and a bowl of miso soup. Miso soup was really my only disappointment. Wouldn't get it again. Miso flavor is watered down, too few green onions and teeny tiny barely visible bits of tofu. Here's the bottom line. A California Roll at Hy-Vee is about $5. At Tokyo you have a pretty good choice of rolls - Rainbow Roll, Shrimp Tempura, Eel, California and if you get just 3 of them you've already gotten way more bang for your buck compared to any other sushi place in town. And they're made right then and there instead of sitting in a cooler all day. Don't get me wrong. These rolls are as basic as they get. The ingredients are standard - imitation crab, avocado, cucumber, etc. Nothing fancy, cutting edge or inventive. Just the basics done well. Are the slices of fish super thin? Sure. Does the Nigiri have a large helping of rice? Yes. I guess I'm just glad I don't have food poisoning and felt the ingredients were fresh and well prepared. The restaurant is clean and modern, the service is fast, friendly and informative, and it was great to see one of the owners/managers working with the sushi chefs to hone their skills. Best sushi in town? No. (I give Crave the nod over Blue) Best sushi value? If you just want some basic rolls and tasty appetizers, absolutely. And if you can get your hands on a Living Social deal it's truly unbeatable. Going back again for sure.

quality of fish was borderline and sushi rice so so. there is a reason it is all u can eat. I would chose quality over quantity. service was also average.

The value is 5 stars! There is a good variety of Japanese food options for your ayce menu. On the dinner menu there are of course sushi options (specialty rolls, nigiri and hand rolls) and a lot of appetizers (tempura, gyoza, 4 soups, 4 salads, chicken teriyaki, kalbi, edamame and more!) The quality is ok. I mean you can't expect 5 star sushi for this price but it's definitely pretty ok!

Very impressed in the food you get for the money. The only issue I ever have here (and has the same issue at the old location called Wasabi) was the service. Servers in Omaha - PLEASE DON'T DUMP THE FOOD OFF AND RUN!!! Once we get the food give me 1 second to give it a look and see if I need anything else. If something is missing I have to wait 15 minutes for you to come back again. But that's my pet-peeve. This place is still amazing and you'll be thrilled to go here. Suggestion is lunch (a few less sushi options but about 1/2 price at $13 bucks). And I just got a groupon the other day - so give it a shot.

Ok sushi for all you can eat, 4 stars for the value, the sashimi was good (not the best i ate) maki are full of rice (more than it should be), stuff are friendly and helpful explaining the menu and options.

We've been to Blue Sushi and Matsu Sushi. This one is easily the best overall AND has a great all you can eat dinner menu. The decor is new. Doesn't feel quite as upscale as Blue but I wouldn't feel out of place here on a dressed up date. The actual sushi is the best we've had in Omaha. The fish is melt-in-your-mouth just like it should be and each order we placed came out quicker than expected. The all you can eat dinner is $19 and the menu has everything you would expect plus a couple cool specialty rolls. We added a scorpion bowl and a domestic beer ($3!) and will definitely be regulars here.

Absolutely amazing. Let's face it, people rarely think QUALITY when they hear something like Sushi Buffet. Well THIS isn't a buffet, it is all you can eat. For $17-$22 (week vs weekend) you get their entire sushi menu, plus appetizers, plus ice cream, with seconds, thirds, whatever. We personally have never made it past seconds. If it gets busy, service can seem lacking, but the food makes up for it. And usually the owner steps in and helps out. Speciality rolls (which would normally spike any check even during happy hours at other places) are included in the menu. Super Dynamite is amazing

This place is leaps and bounds better than Wasabi Sushi. I believe that the previous management at Wasabi is now running Tokyo Sushi. Almost the same menu as Wasabi but the service is 100% BETTER! I can only hope that they can sustain this good service.

The glowing previous reviews of Tokyo Sushi did, in a way, inflate my expectations before we even sat down for lunch. I'd say that the 'all you can eat' concept is an exciting one. Especially when you're being offered 'all' of one of your favorite types of food. But I for one would prefer quality over quantity, and while you're absolutely getting a 4-star value here, the quality of the food is really only 2-star in my book. While some items were worth reordering, others were only worth eating to avoid the additional charge for wasting food. Thus the average 3-star review. We sampled pretty much everything on the menu during lunch, but perusing the dinner menu did make me want to come back for more (unlimited rainbow rolls could be interesting...) I will try again, but if I'm really craving quality sushi (the kind that makes you do a happy food dance and then talk about the meal later) this isn't the first place that will spring to mind. Still, it's a nice addition to the Omaha food scene, as one of only two AYCE sushi places operating in the city, and the only one downtown.

My wife and I tried this restaurant on a Friday night and were skeptical about "all you can eat" and how the quality, selection, and service would be. We were both extremely satisfied with everything. We ordered appetizers, soup, rolls, and nigiri. It was all made to order, fresh, and tasted great. It's very easy to place your orders using the forms on your table. We placed three different orders that were picked up quickly and delivered in a short amount of time. Also we both had two cocktails that were also very good. After such a nice experience visiting this sushi restaurant, this has become our "go to" for sushi.

Wonderful sushi place owned by the same people that owned Wasabi Sushi off of Maple (which is sadly now closed). I love the all you can eat menu because you get the opportunity to try so much more. The staff is really friendly and knowledgable. A gentleman stopped by several times to offer suggestions and we loved every one we tried. The presentation of the food is beautifully done and the cost is affordable. I've tried both Blue and Hiro 88 and this place beats both hands down in both authenticity and affordability! The only negative thing I can say is that there is often difficulty finding a parking spot but since it's the Old Market that's no surprise. If you want sushi defiantly go here, you won't be disappointed!

This was my first All-you-can-eat-sushi experience and I was definitely impressed! The decor was really nice and modern and the food was good. My husband and I stuffed ourselves with five appetizers and five sushi rolls, followed by ice cream, all for $13 each. The rolls were pretty standard (nothing super-original) but everything was good. We had a Groupon this time but would definitely try it again regardless. They also had a great lunch special--two rolls plus soup and salad for about $7.99. Not bad for pretty solid sushi in a convenient Old Market location!

Great service, the prices are hard to beat, and the sushi is not overly "westernized" with sauces, etc. The all-you-can-eat-menu is generous and wine bottles are only $20! Food arrived at the table in a timely manner and the owner himself came to check on us. Ambiance is calm and it was family-friendly enough to bring the kids.

This was just okay. We went for lunch on St. Patrick's Day & I believe it was All You Can Eat for $12.99. We ordered some appetizers & liked the Japanese dumplings, gyoza tasted like straight from a package, & tempura was very hit or miss consistency wise. The first ones we got were shrimp & were extremely dense, doughy, & undercooked panko- had we gotten only these first we would have never enjoyed the tempora yams later on that were actually really good. Just when we thought the shrimp were a fluke we got mushrooms- so soggy I consider them inedible. Maybe they were having an off panko night... My husband isn't an Avocado fan & pretty much every roll except one came with it, regardless if it was on the sheet or not unfortunately. The rolls were also dry & very little other than rice on most of them. We didn't order any more rolls than our first bath- they were poor & didn't have any flavor. If you like Americanized sushi without heat & lots of rice then you might dig the sushi but it wasn't for us. We were hoping that the green tea ice cream would be their saving grace so of course they were out. Strawberry was cook but just not the same. Our service was poor. We had not one, not two, but three attempts at giving us someone else's order. Uhg. & it was a fight to get recognized even thought almost the entire restaurant was empty- we were one of maybe 5 tables with at least 3 servers of some kind. We just weren't happy with any of the waitstaff, especially since the restaurant was so empty. I've had better service at a fast food joint. We won't be back & we definitely regretted going there on my husband's one day off. We live on Offutt AFB & thought exploring the Market would be fun but not this day. We'll stick to our excellent sushi place in La Vista- all you can eat may cost more but it is much higher quality sushi with many more options.

It's a good thing we arrived early because there was a crowd waiting to be seated by the time we left. If you're hungry, $18,99 for AYCE sushi is a bargain, especially considering soup, salad and desert are included (though my serving of ice cream was stingy). Their selection is heavier on the rolls than the nigiri and they show some imagination in their creations and a detailed explanation is provided for each. The food was all fresh, attractively presented and tasty. Prices for domestic/imported beers and the sake were quite reasonable.

Overall (8/10) solid for Omaha Location (8/10) right in old market, but terrible parking Atmosphere (9/10) nicest AYCE (all you can eat) place I've seen in a while Service (8/10) attentive, but was empty Food (8/10) Price (9/10) So an AYCE sushi place in Omaha has not always been on my must eat list here. But I have to say, that the selection and price is right on. The AYCE prices Happy hour (starts at 9 on weekdays, 9:30 pm on weekend): $11 - limited menu Regular menu: $23 (w/ tax and tip) Regular menu + sashimi: $23 Out of all the things my friends and I have tried, I must say that I like the shrimp tempura, boston handroll, tempura handroll, and yakitori. What was not so good: beef teriyaki, volcano roll, agedashi dofu (pronounced as aged tofu by the hostess :3), tempura squid, and the nigiri sushis. The cooked dishes were definitely the star here, while the sushi rolls and nigiri contained too much rice to fish and did not have the impact that I would have wanted. I can perfectly understand this because it is an AYCE place. The salmon was passable though. What I would do is come for happy hour. Although the menu is limited, I think that you aren't missing out on anything super spectacular. I can't quite remember what the happy hour menu consisted of though... I would go to the one that has the handrolls in it. Would I come back? Yes. This place will quickly out compete Blue sushi and especially Hiro 88 as soon as the liquor license comes in. HOWEVER, for the best fish/sushi quality in Omaha, I would still go to Sushi Japan / Yakiniku boy.

Great sushi and only $12.95 all you can eat. I probably ate way too much, but it was so good I couldn't stop. I was very impressed with the level of service and the quality of the food here. Who would think, great Sushi in Omaha?!

Good food! But bad service! The waitress has an attitude problem! I asked for some ice cream since my friend didn't get any and the waitress said ok then went to the cashier mumbling about us then the cashier gave us a dirty look! That waitress deserve 0 tips! Hope this help! Will have to fight with my conscience if I want to eat at this place again

Food: I would have taken a photo, but all disappeared too quickly. Love the salmon " pizza", crunchy rolls, fried tofu, eel, and just about everything else. Agree with previous reviewers about the Hawaiian roll, sounded interesting, but not a favorite. Service: Had the same server we used to always get at Wasabi Sushi. Very nice and helpful woman. She was sure to identify the rolls when she served them, and AYCE meant she made a few trips. Price: $22 each for dinner, we would have more than doubled that anywhere else. We all felt it was well worth the price. Overall we will be back. Great setting, not too formal, but not shorts and a Tshirt either. Very clean and comfortable. Only drawback is parking in the Old Market, and I'm afraid it's only going to get worse when the new hotel opens up.

I really really wanted to continue to rave about this place. Regretfully, I am unable to do so. The rolls are still good but with noticeably less fish. The sashimi is still good sized pieces but some of it was frozen. The nigiri? I have no idea because we never got our order. Even after asking after it three times and getting an annoyed nod and assurance it was coming. It never did. We ordered a second round of about 25 pieces of sashimi. Since you pay extra for it. 25 minutes we sat. Table empty of food. Again. Reassured it would come. Another 10 minutes. Finally, it arrives. Not quite what we ordered but at least it was there. Still no nigiri. We would have ordered more sashimi but didn't want to be overfull for the oft promised nigiri. Finally, the waitress asks would you like your ice cream. There was an air of finality in the request, as if we were being dared to again ask for the nigiri we ordered, now 90 minutes ago. We shrugged and took the ice cream. Let me say it was not busy. There were 3 chefs at least. 4 waitresses and the owner. No more than two tables apiece. My water was never refilled. My daughters glass, ironically enough, was refilled with water. She didn't have to ask. Except she still had half a glass of Sierra mist. Which was served by the same waitress. My glass which HAD held water was empty. I thought she would refill mine as well so I smiled and waited patiently and she walked away!?! The seafood salad had a little bit of tobiko and fake crab strings on top of cucumber strips in a pool of water. For $20 more, we could have gone to Blue or Hiro. Had excellent quality in food and service. The bathroom was also dirty which I think is the first sign a place is going downhill. Normally, I would chalk it up to a bad night and let it go. But this had been typical of my last three visits. I will probably go back. It will probably be awhile. I hope the owner takes note. I would hate to see Tokyo go the way if Wasabi and right now, it's headed in that direction. No amount of good food or great deals can ultimately replace good service. Our waitress obviously did not want to be there and wished we weren't as well.

Bye bye Blue Sushi! Hasta la vista Hiro! I'm not normally one to get dramatic about food, but this restaurant was life changing. I literally created a Yelp account just so I could tell you how wonderful it was. Since it's so new it seems a little sketchy from the outside, but don't judge a book by its cover! Nestled in between two of Omaha's nightlife hot spots, Eat the Worm and O'Connor's, it currently sits with a sad little sign reading "Tokyo" that flaps morosely in the wind. Passersby on the street pause and peer in the door and think to themselves "I'd rather approach a van that says 'Free Candy' than go to this all-you-can-eat sushi place." But push those thoughts out of your head! Waltz inside of the building and the ambiance will blow you away. The upscale setting of the dining room doesn't match the outside whatsoever. Though it may seem a little pricey, it really isn't when you think about how much you would spend at other sushi places just to get one or two rolls that you like. Here you can order your favorites (the asparagus roll is to die for) and try other items that you might enjoy, but never wanted to spend money just to taste at another restaurant! This is a great opportunity for those who aren't as familiar with sushi to sample a variety of items to find what they like best. While they do charge for "wasting food" that was not a problem at my table since every morsel was so delectable. They currently don't have their liquor license but that will soon change. Try this place immediately before word gets out and the crowds begin to flock there!

First time visitor to Omaha and I was in the mood for for something other than mexican on Cinco de Mayo. The menu was fairly extensive for an all you can eat with plenty of choices for sushi, sashimi, rolls and hand rolls, and appetizers and soups. Previous reviews had said no alcohol so I was pleased to see drinks offered and I had a nice Sapporo to wash down my food. The service was very attentive without being overwhelming and the food presentation was more in line with what you'd expect at an ala carte restaurant. The food came out beautifully displayed on a single plate and really made the dining experience so much more pleasant.

Really exceeded my expectations. I usually hate all you can eat places because the quality is typically bad, but every dish we ordered at this restaurant seemed reasonably fresh and tasted delicious. I'd recommend the gyoza and golden dragon rolls. Definitely more fun with a party of at least 4. Staff is helpful but a bit hard to grab at times.

A good surprise! From the outside, restaurant does not impress, on the contrary. They could work on their façade, to make it more attractive, for sure, I had to convince my husband to get in. Fortunately, I had read the reviews, so I was kind confident it would be good. I love sushi and sashimi, so the buffet was my first option. As most of all u can eat Japanese, the food is brought to your table, do not over order it or you may be asked to pay extra, what is fair. Portions are good, watch out they send more pieces of sushi that they describe in the menu, you will end up with too much of each kind and then you will get stuffed ahead of time. Despite that, food is fresh, well prepared, restaurant is nice, quiet and clean, attendants are smiley but some do not have much English, so be sure to explain yourself Presentation is nice. If you love sushi and sashimi, this is the place - any similar order in any other place would be much more expensive . Only trouble for me is that it is far away in downtown but I get to walk the Old Market after meal, what is good considering how much I ate. Good food, good price, I will be returning sooner than I thought!

The sushi is usually underwhelming, but considering that omaha is in the middle of nowhere tokyo is a quick fix for any of my sushi cravings. The service is slow and the sushi rolls have A LOT of rice, but the servers are nice and you always leave with a full stomach. Btw the chicken wings are awesome. Yes... chicken wings at a sushi buffet.

For the price, you can't beat it in Omaha. The quality of the sushi here pleasantly surprised me being that this place is in NEBRASKA. Don't let the outside of the place fool you (to management, I hope that you are considering decorating the front soon, because many people DO judge books by their cover), the inside is brand new, clean and tidy. They also DO have a full bar, just recently getting their liquor license and the prices for drinks are pretty reasonable. The location is right in the heart of the old market district, so this is a great place to eat well before spending a night out in Omaha.

Alright, I've heard a lot of hype about this restaurant so I finally made the trip! And color me unimpressed. This isn't the first All-You-Can-Eat sushi place I've been to. However, I always have high expectations for sushi, regardless of the style. After a single visit, I have several good and bad points to address here. Let's start with the service. The service is passable. The servers were courteous (which is always number #1) and never hesitated to ask to refill my drink. There was no attitude, just smiles. But occasionally, they would forget items we ordered and occasionally bring us food we didn't order (and thus didn't want). When they brought our sushi out, our waiter didn't tell us what was what, which is very important considering the next point I'm about to address. The food is... ok. The appetizers were nothing special, pretty much standard fare with nothing sticking out. One of my biggest gripes is that the sushi rolls looked and tasted the same. My friend and I had to play the guessing game since our waiter didn't tell us what was on the plate and since everything looked the same, we ended up just randomly picking at sushi. I guess we got the salmon rolls we ordered, but it was hard to tell because the fish didn't have a vibrant orange, but was instead some sorta of murky brown? I also would've liked to try a Rainbow Roll, but it was one of the orders lost to oblivion. I suggest sticking with ordering the nigiri, which had a more distinct look and much better in terms of fish quality and taste. For ~$14 for an AYCE sushi lunch, it's a very good price (considering that I've racked up $30-$50 bills at sushi restaurants before). The restaurant is clean and has the nice atmosphere that comes standard to sushi restaurants. In conclusion, good service, good price, lackluster food. There definitely is potential and I would like to see improvements from here on. I'm sure I'll return eventually and hopefully I'll have a much more glowing review then. *Random rant: There's a Hawaii Roll on the menu... with pineapple. Why is always pineapple? Can't someone make a Hawaii Roll with something different, like papaya, mango, or spam? And yes, I tried it and it's not something I'm rushing to try again. Oh, but do feel free to be adventurous.

Just ate here for the first time. Food was pretty good, a couple if the things wasn't as good as wasabi sushi, but still good though... I have now eaten here twice, this time I was with my dad, sister and 2 of my nieces. We all enjoyed the meal, and some the the food I didn't think was as good as Wasabi Sushi all you can eat last time was better this time. How ever I had the Teriyaki Beef this time and I did not like it at all. Other than that it was really good. I just wish the had the sashimi everyday. Because I eat to much rice when I go to these all you can eat sushi places, as I really love sushi. So when I can get sashimi I prefer getting that as I fill up to fast with the rice....

This is a new restaurant, opened where the House of Lee used to be. If you are expecting that same decor, be prepared for major change. The interior has been upgraded, and is very nice. But who cares about a nice interior - what is the deal with the sushi? Sunday through Thursday, you get all you can eat Sushi for $17.99. Friday and Saturday, the price goes up to $22.99. You can order as much as you like, and as many times as you want, but you have to eat what you order, or they will charge you for the menu price of that entree. I tried 4 of their rolls (California, Spicy Tuna, Volcano, and 4 Flowers), and they were fresh, tasty and good. Since the place is brand new, the foot traffic is light, but it will pick up once people figure out what the deal is. For now, no alcohol- they have applied for their liquor license, but haven't got it yet. They have Pepsi products for the short term. The service was good as well. All in all, I had a great time. Finally, an all-you-can-eat Sushi place in the Old Market!

I'm still a little wary of AYCE sushi because: a) Sushi is too delicious to ever say no; and b) How cheap must the fish be for them to make their money back?? But I got over both of those concerns and went with a couple of co-workers to their AYCE lunch ... and I must say, I was quite surprised (and, alas, quite full). We got a variety of rolls, nigiri and appetizers for the table, but I didn't try everything. I did, however, taste the: - Asparagus salmon roll (asparagus, cooked salmon, cream cheese & eel sauce): 2 stars ... good, but nothing to write home about. Not sure I read it close enough to see that it was cooked salmon. Whoops! - Philadelphia roll (smoked salmon, cream cheese and cucumber): 3 stars ... this had a very small slice of salmon in comparison to everything else. But the flavor was still good. - Spicy Crab Meat Roll (spicy crab meat, tempura crisp): 5 stars ... by far my favorite. The tempura crisp is inside the roll so it actually soaked up some of the spiciness from the crab. But it was still the crunchy tempura I was craving. - Golden Dragon Roll (salmon on top of shrimp tempura roll ... which is tempura shrimp, masago, cucumber, avocado & mayo): 3 stars for flavor, 5 stars for presentation ... I think the mayo is what threw me in this one. Replace that with cream cheese and I may be a fan for life. But I would still recommend this one as it is far and away the prettiest roll on the table and isn't part of the sushi experience the visuals? We also tried the Shumai (steamed Japanese dumpling), miso soup and Yakitori (skewered chicken with teriyaki sauce). All were good -- but if you're going to AYCE sushi, then the smarter move might be to just fill up on sushi. All in all: I'll be back.

If I could give this place more than five stars I would! From the outside, Tokyo Sushi doesn't look like much but when you walk inside the restaurant is very nicely decorated. The server was extremely friendly and explained the price and how to order. My friend and I took our time looking through the menu and finally decided. We put in our orders and very shortly thereafter the waitress brought out the special of the day which was expertly decorated and tasted great. Our orders came and I was just amazed and how great the quality was. It is an all you can eat sushi restaurant with the quality and taste of an expensive restaurant. The price varies between weekdays and the weekend but $23 on a friday evening for all you can eat sushi is a great deal and the quality is beyond worth it! I will be back again and again!

We've been to this sushi place on a couple of occasions now. I think the quality gets better each time we go! Fantastic service every time. We have a 2 year old and they are always more than accommodating. They aren't as strict about the "eat every single crumb or we will charge you", just as long as you don't blatantly order a plateful and barely eat anything. We love it!

Well! As they say, one gets what one pays for & sometimes not even that!! Had the all you can eat lunch for the 1st. visit today at Tokyo & lets say it was a bit of a disappointment! Well after reading some of the reviews I thought it might be OK but then I forgot that it's OMAHO!! So let's review it Zagat style, ie Food, Decor, Service, cost. 1. The sushi was sort of OK if you love a lot of rice & paper thin fish on top! The high point of the food dept was the seaweed salad, [a tiny portion], could have eaten like 5 servings & if I ever go back, I will! The low, the fish soup which had one bit of a popcorn shrimp, a tiny bit of fish cake, & a tiny bit of squid all in a bowl of hot water with a touch of soy sauce & a few bits of seaweed. The SO had 3 rolls & some tempora which she said were OK. I tasted a bit of one of the rolls & thought it was ok. So now it's like 10 hours later I guess what I keep tasting? the fish soup?? One thing that bothered me besides the paper thin fish was, that they didn't put any wasabi on top of the rice under the fish which was a bit of a pain as I had to DIY that part. I've never had sushi that didn't have wasabi under the fish??? Of course it being the Big o, I can understand that the locals might not like it that way but then why eat sushi?? 2. Ah Decor!! This is an easy one. There isn't any!! I don't know what the place was before, perhaps a bar, but it was totally BLAH!!! This sort of PO'd me because I wanted to do some vid of it but it was so BLAH, I just couldn't be bothered. I mean, come on now, Sappora & Kirin & the Saki makers have all sorts of FREE Japanese chatskies that would have given the old bar some sort of LOOK!! A nice 6' high water fountain dribbling a bit of water might also be a cheap but nice touch! Or some FREE Japanese flags that I'm sure one of the Saki makers has, would put a bit of pseudo charm into the DREARY space. 3. Service! This section I'd give 4 ****! A very attentive mix of Chinese, Thai & a white guy or two, servers were just great!! 4. Cost? Well is a $13.00 all you can eat Japanese lunch anything special? I'd say yes if the food was average or better BUT it's not here. So the bottom line is, save your pennies for a trip to NYC where you can get some really good Sushi & don't bother with this place until they get their act together!!!

Great AYCE sushi and great prices! We were a fan of Wasabi until they went downhill. Same style and management but quality is better! Each time we have been it hasn't been too busy so I don't know if they slow down or not. But they have been quick with orders so far! Some of the rolls are different and taste awesome! There is one with jalapeño and another with mango. Very tasty!!! We have been here 3 times and love it! Definitely a sushi baby making place!

Fresh sushi in downtown Omaha. The restaurant itself is beautiful and clean. Fast and friendly service. All you can eat menu allowed me to try anything for one price.

A new Japanese restaurant that is quite nice in the heart of the Old Market. You can have sushi buffet (freshly made to order) at a good price. You can also order from the menu. I had one lunch box for less than $8 (before tax and tip). If you are hungry for all kind of sushi this is the place to go. I took my family back to the restaurant again tonight and my kids love the varieties of the food they offer. Great place to go.
