Let me explain my situation. I am with two other humans right now and that equals three. I can honestly say that we embody what it means to be three happiness express. GUESS WHAT! My soup was only 2 dollars for twelve ounces. I'm going to turn up for egg drop soup constantly now because that's such a great deal. Cool place to eat and chill. Would highly recommend 10/10.

I really want to Love Three Happiness but the service can be subpar to down right bad at times. It seems like you roll the dice. We went today and were served after 3 other tables who arrived after us. The food was ok but the service and lack of remorse by the management is a real turnoff. I was going to give 2 stars but one of the chefs came out when we were on our way out and apologized. I wish the management did the same.

For my 250th review, I chose 3 Happiness because I have been going here for years. Since we became a meatless household we focus on the largest veggie menu available. In fact, it is actually a vegan menu. There were at least 28 different dishes (possibly 31 as I ordered V31) that you can decide on. The flavors are bright and prominent and the match well with little accoutrements. I really like the portion sizes for the price because it is an extreme value. That is of course, if you like leftovers. the sizes are seriously huge. there is always a vegan special advertised and the staff is very quickly. I am not sure if it is the area of town that it is located, but it makes me think of LaCasa in terms of the sheer amount of younger kids working behind the scenes. Do not fret if you see the table in the middle of the dining area covered in to go packaging and water pitchers.

I vouch for everything I said in my first review. And two years later, I still find myself going here time and time again. It's fast, casual American Chinese. Great staff. Great food. You can split any of the entrees and have a meal for two people for under $10. Their vegan menu is expansive and full of A+ options. Three Happiness is a perfect neighborhood restaurant. I recommend going during non-peak hours, because it does get busy during lunch and dinner. Now excuse me, I have some leftovers to heat up.

Saltest shrimp fried rice ever, so drink plenty of water. The price is awesome, and they give you plenty of food!

Yes. Just yes. If you are expecting a fancy restaurant, keeping driving. If you are expecting amazing food at an extremely reasonable price, head in. From the outside, the neon is half out, and if you aren't paying attention, you'll drive right by it. My family of five (two adults and three teenage freeloaders) each had an entree (which was so largely portioned there was enough for lunch the next day) and our bill was around $40. Kung Pao Tofu: AMAZING Sesame Chicken: SO AMAZING Peanut Butter Chicken: HEAVEN. We found our non-buffet Chinese restaurant.

Real life, the bees knees and the cats pajamas. Roast a bleezy and swing on to this place and try EVERYTHING lol #Bomb

Great food but service is usually pretty slow. If you go on a Saturday evening you can expect a 40 minute wait or longer for your food to come out. They just aren't equipped to handle a slamming, but not sure any restaurant really is. But what I can say it is worth the wait regardless. The hot and sour soup is the best ever! The prices are very reasonable and crab rangoon are excellent. I will go back again for sure!

Constantly I've had friends tell me this was the place to go for Chinese food...and tonight I finally had the awesomeness that was Three Happiness...Yes it's on Leavenworth, which means the surrounding area is a notch above the ghetto...but damn this place is worth the trip...I ordered the peanut butter chicken...OMG was it good...in fact, it made the top 10 list of tastiest things I've put in my mouth...it was indescribably awesome...and you get your choice of soup, I went with egg drop, which was simply perfect, and an egg roll, which while a bit on the small side, was also one of the best I'd ever had...the check for mine and my friends food came to just over $16...and we both had leftovers...this place is true diamond in the rough...I will not be waiting long to come back...oh and the waitress was really good...friendly, quick and with a smile...

Overly heavy on the gravy. the brown and red sauce were just way to thick and overly done. Very heavy on the ginger. Felt to me like the standard ps food service out of the box food. Service was suffering for sure. Not sure if they just did not want to work or just felt bothered we were there? did not feel welcomed at all. Would not seek this place out again

Honestly, there's not much to say about this place. It's your typical cheap Americanized Chinese place - and that's not a knock on it at all, I like that kind of stuff. And if that's what you're looking for, Three Happiness will fit the bill. When I went my dish (the Vegetable Deluxe) was good, though the brown sauce tasted kind of funny. My Hot and Sour soup was awesome, and the ragoons were decent. Portions are huge, especially for the price, service was quick and the restaurant was clean. It's not a dining destination and I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again, but if I'm in need of decent and cheap Chinese I'd probably go back.

    (3)
  • Tutti S.

I don't know why they have so many stars. I should have known by the odd name the quality and taste might be suspect. The crab ragoons were decent and kinda creamy. The sweet and sour chicken tasted like the sauce wasn't homemade and it had a metal aftertaste. I won't go back, even for the cheap prices.

I was in SHOCK!!! I wanted to like this place. I am always looking for a new Asian spot. In a prior life... I was Asian... did you know that?! But.... this did not bring me back to my prior life.... food was horrible. Sauces were not homemade... they LOADED every food item with sauce. EVERYTHING WAS LOADED with sauce... and not that great tasting sauce either. TIP ALERT- Sometimes little is more. TIP ALERT-The owners will see a huge savings in their pocketbooks if they reduced the sauce on their entrees. The crab Rangoon.... they were ok. They had a weird flavor to me... The cream cheese was melted more than usually so it was more gooey... usually I would like this but I prefer the more clumpy crab rangoons. ANDDDD The sauce glasses that are feeled with spicy mustard and sweet & sour sauce... Those are poured into a large container at the end of the day and reused... some reason that struck me as being gross... I don't know why since it is the same concept of using the jar on the table... but.... just kind of gross... maybe they should do that behind the scene. This place gets 1 star from me... There were three adults and 2 kids... the three adults left half of their food on the table. The two kids ate theirs... Fried Rice--- C Shanhai Noodle... D- Crab Rangoons D Three Happiness is not only improper English but it did not make me happy!

Cleanliness 3 Service 3 Food 4 Likelihood 4 1-5 (5 Best!) 3.5 Normally this place is SPOT on. They had to have been short staffed AND I saw a lot of new faces, very few "regular" employees. Had to ask for water refills, and even that was difficult. Tables were dirty and removing dirty dishes took a long time. VERY unusual. I have never had that happen before. FOOD was hot, fresh, and tasty! The kitchen had it going on! Good job.

Full Disclosure: I AM CHINESE. Meaning my review will be based on my entire life experience with Chinese food. So here goes! Upon pulling up in the lot to pick up my order I was greeted with a smell of delicious garlic..! After a hard week I was ready to dig into some delicious comfort food. I ordered the orange chicken and seafood delight. My first complaint is that there was too much sauce for both entrees! It leaked into the bag and then hot/warm sauce broke a hole in the cheap plastic bag which got onto my car seat. Boo. Second, the orange chicken was too orangey tasting..! Like they used a preserved orange peel or something. Shame. Too overpowering! Boo #2. And there was too many breaded pieces with tiny pieces of chicken or no chicken at all..! Boo #3. Third, the sauce for the seafood delight was red not brown as described. Probably as a result of being lazy and not using different/cleaning the wok to cook. Boo #4. Boo #5. Too salty. I drank an entire can of pop and a bottle water after. All dat MSG doe. Yikes! Still feel salty. And my eyes are dry. Let's take about the good now. Everything was piping hot and acceptable in terms of taste. Yay. Yay #2, the "fried rice" actually tasted good. I mean it's just soy sauce and egg stir fried but nevertheless the rice was soft and it had flavor. Yay #3, the seafood delight had all the seafoods described and they were not stingy on them! I got scallops, imitation crab, squid...the whole lot! Woohoo. Overall i'd come back to eat here. It's a typical chinese food place and while it has it's flaws, it's good for Omaha.

Loads of vegan options with huge menu. They are serving huge amount of food per dish. I ordered fried tofu lomein with sprouts. They took 10 mins to serve the food. Food is tasty , added right amount of sauces and fried tofu needs a special mention. Veg spring roll offered along with dish is probably the one of the best roll i had, its so fresh. Definetly going to add this place in my favs list.

Really love this place. It has an extensive menu and even a vegan/vegetarian menu. Food has always been hot, fresh, and delicious!!! Service is always friendly. One of the cleanest restaurants you will ever see!! It is a great restaurant and an Omaha staple! They have won Best Of Omaha over ten times!!!! Go eat here!!!!!!!!!

Vegan options-- fast, cheap and yummy! Love the veggies and fried tofu. Don't come for the ambiance, but it is clean.

Pros ==== -The food was hot and came in a timely manner. -The waiter was attentive by not overly attentive. -The egg drop soup was very good - great consistency. -Soup + 1 Crab Rangoon come with the meal. Cons ==== -The place felt a little dirty. -My meal (Triple Delight) didn't really "wow" me. It had weird flavors, and a very weird, BBQ-sauce-looking sauce on it. -I left feeling "meh, that was ok..." All in all, not your worst Chinese place, but definitely not the best. IMO

This place will put any typical chinese food joint to shame. The cooks, owner, and wait staff all run a serious, dedicated and fast operation and that shows in more ways than one here. Im not sure if i will ever be able to write a worthy review but i'll try. What looks like maybe a promising hole in the wall with a half lit neon sign is actually the best chinese food (Best of Omaha Awards to prove it) you can probably get in the area. I've been coming here for what has maybe been 10+ years and for good reason. The food is delicious, has plentiful portions, it's cheap and did i mention tasty? With a vast menu containing american chinese food staples to exotic and authentic asian meals there is surely something for anybody's appetite. (there is even an entire page for vegan dishes. I can highly recommend the vegetable lo mein if you're down for some serious veggies.) I guess you'll just have to trust me when i say this IS NOT cookie cutter chinese food. The building has undergone frequent renovations in the past years and the latest addition of wood floors and different wall fixtures has the place looking spiffy. Minus the massive flat screen TV they just put up but i'm just not a big fan of TV in restaurants in general. Bring a jacket, the building can be drafty at times and little space heaters are unfortunately their only weapon against that battle. Some menu recommendations; hot tea, all their soups, crab rangoon, spring rolls and fried tofu are to die for, crispy noodles, steamed rice, sweet and sour chicken, cashew chicken, peanut butter chicken, try getting sliced chicken instead, vegetable lo mein, and of course the fortune cookie.

We live within walking distance of this restaurant so I have to say, all I do is go out on my deck and I want Three Happiness. (the smell wafts instantly northward and temps us mercilessly). We have eaten there countless times with wonderful food and service. The staff is very BUSY but always manages to be be pleasant and the home-made hot mustard is to DIE for! I could order just crab rangoon from this restaurant and be blissfully happy. Take out food is fast and always ready when we call in an order. The only disappointment is that egg-foo yong is no longer made/served. I do miss it. Otherwise, AWESOME!

  • John B.

Have eaten here 4 times in the last 2 months, each time with a different dish. 2 were 5 stars (a rarity for me), 1 a 4 star and 1 a 3 star. Ate all I could and left with a decent meal at home. Young wait staff were consistently energetic , friendly and helpful. Price, quality and quantity were almost a 5 star. I am a hard to please 77 y/o bachelor with several visits to China and glad I am in the 3 Hap neighborhood. John A.

    (4)
  • Michelle P.

A bit of a "hole in the wall" as you could almost literally drive by and miss it (half of the sign isn't lit up). But that kind of makes it all the more special. However, don't think this means they aren't busy. They almost always are. Food is good. We almost always do takeout so I can't comment on the service in-restaurant.

My friend was raving about it so we ended up going Found an ant in my food. Case closed. Done deal. That's it. Someone call the Heath department Oh and where's the 0 star option... Such a sad experience

Best sit-down Chinese in town. I only go for lunch (it's a block from my work), and it's amazing. If you get an entree you will have leftovers, and for like $6. And honestly one of the best parts is the presentation. The food is just so pretty when it comes out! My favorite entree is the sweet and sour chicken. Can't recommend it highly enough. Honestly, though, I've gone several times and just gotten the hot and sour soup. It's so good.

    (5)
  • Natasha S.

Peanut butter chicken. That's all that needs to be said really. I actually enjoy the amount of sauce as other places like to charge you for extra and usually skimp on them horribly.

    (4)
  • J B.

Loved it! The food was hot and fresh. The orange beef was flavorful and just enough spice to keep it from being sweet. It was nice and crispy like it should be. The portions were generous given what seemed pretty inexpensive price tag. It is very casual so don't expect tablecloths and candles but great food. They appear to do a big take out business.

    (4)
  • Anna E.

Best egg rolls i've ever had!!! The food was tasty, really hot and came out fast. my only complaint is that there is WAY too much sauce on the entrees. Everyone at the table said so. It was our first time there but we will definitely be back! I will definitely be back soon and order my entree with light sauce.

    (4)
  • Jim S.

Huge amount of food for the price. They go a bit heavy on the sauces but very good. I couldn't believe the business this little place does. If carrying out be prepared for 20-30 minute wait and I was there at 5:30.

Best place in town! Chicken chow mien is my favorite! This place is quick and clean. Great customer service.

This place scratches an itch I get, every now and then. Fast, no frills, and satisfying. Also, some good memories from college days fill this space.

This place serves pretty good food at a super affordable price. You get a mountain of whatever you ordered, so make sure to bring a huge appetite. Solid Chinese food.

  • Elizabeth D.

This place was great. We were road tripping it west and stopped here for a relatively quick dinner. We had tofu stir fry and tofu lo mien. Very good but WAY too much food, which is a good thing unless you're on the road. I wish we would have split a dish instead. Fast and friendly service. I'd definitely stop here Again.

  • Lindsay K.

Crab rangoon - disgusting. Too garlicy and no crab. (And i love garlic). Peanut butter chicken - disgusting, could not get past the first 3 bites. Made from canned peter pan (bulk can was sitting on the counter) Double happiness - double disgust. Husband did not like this entree, he asked for something else and was told he would have to pay for both the new and the one returned. Asked for a manager and was told "They stand by their product and if he didn't like it, it's not their problem, it's his." Sweet and sour chicken - chicken was nice and crispy, but the sweet and sour was nasty canned stuff. Really, how can you screw this one up?! Clearly they do not care about customer satisfaction! Will never return. Zero stars!

  • Carrie P.

Very good, lots of vegan options, the menu is long, offering a good variety of meal options. Service was also good and the portions were big, my meal lasted me almost 3 servings! I was. Impressed by the prices for so much food. I had a spicy vegan tofu dish and my mom had the chicken fried rice, both were delicious. I definitely recommend trying this place and will be returning.

    (4)
  • Lori M.

Three happiness is really great. The general chicken is my favorite. The portion is huge and reasonable. Only bad thing is it's always cold inside the restaurant. There are space heaters but still uncomfortable at times.

I really wanted to like this place based on the reviews. I was actually looking for Thai food but I guess all Thai restaurants are closed on Sunday in this town?! I ordered a cup of egg drop and hot and sour soup, crab rangoons, spicy chicken wings, mongolian beef, sweet and sour pork, beef and broccoli and some random shrimp dish. The soups were okay, the hot and sour didn't really have any kick. Crab rangoons--the filing was very salty and I love salt but this was too much. Chicken wings--I didn't even try them because they were bathed in sauce. Beef and broccoli--Almost had to call 911, it was drowning in sauce. Sweet and sour pork--this was probably the best dish out of my entire order but you really can't mes it up. Plus when you order it to go, sauce is in a separate container. Mongolian beef--super soggy, once again drowned in sauce. Shrimp dish--didn't even try it, too much sauce. The reoccurring theme here...too much sauce. They could definitely benefit from the less is more in the sauce department. The staff was very nice, service was prompt, price point is good....food not so much. Sadly, this was my first and last stop.

Food is so yummy!! I get vegan or vegetarian meals, and they're great. Bargain deal too, $6 for one entree and it's two or three meals for me. Veggie friend rice, egg rolls, egg drop soup, and crab Rangoon are my favorites. Also, service is good. I had my dogs in the car, and one women delivered our food right to us. She was a delight

    (5)
  • Dean P.

Love this place for either eat-in or carryout. Service is prompt and friendly. Entrees are freshly-prepared, therefore they are hot, veggies remain crisp, and seasonings are great. Have had great seafood, chicken and meat dishes and have not been disappointed. Heartily recommend this place. If you're going to be coming in with a group, it's best to give them a heads-up so a table can be saved.

Went here after 8pm for a quick dinner on a Wednesday night. The plates are huge, enough for 3!

    (3)
  • Deanne S.

First time coming here after hearing good things about it. Got carry out and it was ready within 5 minutes. Had the honey chicken which wasn't bad, pretty standard. Pretty cheap food with big proportions!

    (3)
  • Athena R.

I stopped in for lunch with a colleague. I was very disappointed with the food. Everything was super salty. The flavor of the salt overtook the flavor of the food - from the soup, to the crab rangoon, to the actual entree.

  • Nick H.

This is some of the best chinese food I've ever had, I could probably eat nothing but for a month and not tire of it. The generals chicken is just right, not too spicy, not too thick and not terribly sweet, the orange chicken is amazing, countless other restaurants can't hold a candle to it, the sesame chicken/beef is great, it's not my favorite chinese dish but these guys make it awesome. the peanut butter chicken, I would have to say this is my only qualm with three happiness, it's a bit on the thick side, but other than that it tastes amazing! The egg drop soup is great, I don't like rangoons but my girlfriend could eat them for a meal.

    (5)
  • Tina L.

One of my absolute favorites for American Chinese food. The prices are fair and the portions are huge! I always forget that one dish is often enough for two people. Their general's chicken is superb though I've never been disappointed with ordering whatever they are running a special one. The staff has always been super attentive in all of my experiences, and when asked where to get Chinese food in town, this is where I tell my friends to go. Love it.

This is the best Chinese food in Omaha, I live in LA Vista and drive there for take out. Amazingly tasty coupled with huge portions = Happy customers, smart owners great staff.

  • Fetchsprouts F.

Wish we had read some honest reviews before walking a mile and a 1/2 to this place while visiting Omaha. Let's just talk about the food... We ordered the general tso's chicken and the peanut butter chicken, the latter was because of the positive reviews. Both are fried chicken dishes with lots of chicken (and not much else) slathered in lots of sauce. And you know, there really wasn't much chicken in the fried pieces...more like tough pieces of batter with a bit o' chicken tucked in Both were terrible. If we compare this place to all of the other Chinese restaurants we've ever been to, it ranks dead last. The food on it's own, gets zero stars. With that said, the service was great. The servers were very attentive, efficient and friendly. You get a lot of (really bad) food for the money. This place is a dive, but there was a steady stream of customers and the place seemed clean. Maybe other dishes are better than the ones we tried.

    (3)
  • Subhankar C.

Very tasty food for a reasonable price. My favorits are the sweet and sour chicken, Kung pao chicken, mandarin orange chicken, shrimp. Negatives are that the chicken is often very dry and difficult to chew and food is quite oily. Customer service is great. Overall, would recommend it as a place for good quality food for reasonable price.

  • Katie F.

Today I had Shanghai Tofu off their vegan menu. It was so delicious. It had a kick to it too. The portion was ridiculously huge for $6.50, enough to make 2 more meals of. Service was on the tips of their feet today. Food took maybe 10 minutes and my water was under under filled by more than an inch, and I drink a ton of water.

    (4)
  • Patsy K.

My favorite Chinese restaurant! Great food, friendly fast service , inexpensively priced. My only negative comment would be that the counter area has a lot of big, handwritten notes for the staff making the area seem cluttered. Not very appealing to customers. I might suggest a separate area for takeout orders. Dining area gets very crowded with people waiting for takeout orders.

    (4)
  • Erin D.

Best Chinese in town! The price of an entree is cheap especially since you get an overwhelming amount of food. Free soup and egg roll or crab rangoon when you dine in :)

It was good!! Not great I had the curry chicken and my wife had the broccoli beef. Friendly service and a lot options in the menu!!

I'm not going to claim they are James Beard caliber, but always feel we get our money worth in good food. Big fan of the dumplings, wings and shanghai noodles. Employees seem to care way more than the usual fast paced restaurant too.

    (4)
  • Regi R.

Yay tofu! Their veggie dishes are yummy and the meat eaters around me seem to dig their food as well. I'm a vegetarian and my BFF is vegan, so it can be tricky when we're out to eat, especially when meat-eater pals are with us. This place has something for everyone and at a low price! If you like tofu and mushrooms, I recommend the V-18! :)

  • Sarah G.

Tasty, fast, and relatively inexpensive. This is a convenient take-out option for us and I really enjoyed our last meal from here. Four entrees was plenty and more enough for four people. Bill went for lunch recently and they made him a specialty soup also, which is always appreciated. So my opinion of Three Happiness is gradually improving. I still have about 10 years of history behind China Palace but now I guess we have two Chinese food options in the area (as far as I'm concerned).

First off, I have been coming here for years, and Three Happiness has gotten better and better. Their tofu items are super good. My favorite is Jalapeno Fried Tofu. The tofu is not overly fried and the jalapenos extremely fresh. The only downside is if you are not vegetarian because you don't get soup with the vegetarian meals. Some of my other favorite dishes are Three Happiness Chicken, Robert's Chicken, and their Lo Mien. I would not really recommend the seafood items. They are not bad, there are just better things on the menu. The service is quick and I have never had problems. They typically get you in and out and the atmosphere is fairly casual. It might be worth mentioning that they have a small television in the restaurant, but the volume is muted and it is not usually very noticeable. My only gripe is their daily special is pretty much always the same dish from my experience. Some of my roommates describe the dishes as too saucy, which to me doesn't mean much, but might be worth noting. Overall, Three Happiness does really good american style Chinese food. I would recommend it, unless you are looking for dishes that are more authentic.

  • Ali L.

I went because it's nearby campus and I was curious about the rumors of these alleged $4 entrees. Well, only one daily special is on that price, and today it wasnt anything I was interested in. I ordered the peanut butter chicken for $7.50, which came with a choice of soup and an egg roll or crab rangoon. I went with hot and sour soup, which at first tasted a bit gelatin-y for some reason (preservatives?), but eventually my taste buds warmed up to it and it was fine. The peanut butter chicken entree was huge and served steaming hot! I kept burning my mouth on the darn chicken it was so hot, but much better quality than most places in town. The crab rangoon had real chunks of artificial crab...most places skip this crucial ingredient. Overall, I'll be back to explore the menu a bit more. Think I prefer this over Rice Bowl, and it's not too far from campus. If they have a phenomenal mongolian beef dish, then they've won me over. They just need to start putting lids on the spicy mustard containers--currently they are wide open without lids and that is definitely not hygienic in the least.

  • Robert L.

Good food. I thought it was a bit heavy on the sauce. The appetizers have been better in the past but still good. I prefer the spicier items on the menu, but you won't be disappointed with the sweeter items as well.

  • Brittany R.

Sooooo delicious. Could eat there everyday, they have one of the most delicious hot and sour soups I have tried in a long time.

    (5)
  • Jenny B.

Three Happiness is amazing!! If you eat at the restaurant, all meals come with your choice of soup, an egg roll or crab rangoon, and fried or steamed rice. The portions are huge, and everything I've ever had here has been delicious. They will go out of their way to make your meal vegetarian, and I often substitute their fried tofu for meat because it's great! This place is a great value, with meals in the $5-7 range, but even if it wasn't I would still eat here. Love it!

My absolute favorite restaurant. I swear up and down by it. Family owned. Great meals, great prices.

  • Kaai L.

Not authentic whatsoever. Dishes are created for people with undiscerned taste buds. I ordered sweet and sour chicken because really, how can you go wrong right? Well, the sauce was horrible. It tasted like ketchup to me. Ew. Why would I ever come back.

Apparently the bi-weekly business I USED TO bring here (as I will not be going back) wasn't good enough for this restaurant to make right an order which THEY placed incorrectly for my take out dinner. When I called the woman actually wanted me to drive back across town in order to do anything about THEIR mistake. I ordered a plate mild, they ordered it without chili powder -- it was LOADED with jalapeños! PLUSthe seeds which is where a lot of the heat is. How is this my fault when I orderedit mild and the 12-year-old behind the counter ordered it wrong? This would have been simply fixed by taking my name and making up for it upon my next visit. But even upon my next visit WITH the same said 12-year-old working and verifying it there was no making up for my paid-in-full dinnerless night. I hope this petty issue was worth my business. I'll not be back. And anyone should think twice about bringing any carryout business or even any dine-in business to this restaurant, in my opinion.

First time here to try the now famous PB chicken! I was not dissapointed! The PB sauce was super heavy just how I like it! The portion size was huge with plenty for a second meal later. They even give you soup of your choice with the meal! I will try this again!

I have eaten here no less than 20 times in the last 5 years and have never had a bad experience in service or food. This place is awesome!

Great food and service. The prices are just right and the portions are even better.

I've ordered most of the menu here for takeout. Everything is decent, no dish really stands out as my favorite but nothing on the menu is bad. This place is cheap and the food is good. I've never ate at the place so I can't comment on their service but I wouldn't expect it to be too slow/bad since they usually have a bunch of people working the place. Bottom line: If I'm in the mood for takeout Chinese, this is the place to go.

I decided to go to Three Happiness last night for dinner. It's only a couple of blocks from my house, so a group of us decided to go try it. There was a group of 8 of us (it's pretty small inside) yet the waiters were very accommodating. Service was fast, friendly, and prompt. One of my friends in the group has a wheat allergy, and the kitchen was very willing to accommodate her needs. Prices were very reasonable - every entree was in the $5-8 range. If you eat in, you also get a choice of egg roll or crab rangoon (the crab rangoon gooooood!), as well as your choice of soup. I ate orange chicken and it was delicious, plus enough was leftover to take home for a second meal! People in my group also got crispy chicken and lo mein to name a couple, and all were really good. Overall, this is a great place for fast, cheap Chinese! I would definitely come back here.

Portions are huge! My bf and I split 1 entree and it was more than enough. Tastes great. Super cheap.

I have yet to see the appeal for this place. I've tried it again and again but it all tastes like... burning. I'm not sure how to describe it. I hear all too often someone mentioning how delicious this place is but I'd rather visit so many other good chinese restaurants than to spend any more money at this place.

I really enjoy Three Happiness. There are several vegetarian dishes here, and their new curries are pretty good. I typically order my food to go, and it's prepared very quickly. The cooks here will gladly make you a variation of something if they don't have it on the menu. For example, my gf likes shrimp lo-mein, but they don't have it on the menu. They always make it for her without question. This is a great family owned place.

Not my favorite, but you can't go wrong with the prices here. Cheapest chinese food in Omaha, hands down. Still, for my money, I'd rather go to Hong Kong Cafe (or, to splurge, Hiro's). Favorite thing about visiting Three Happiness? Parking in a spot that says "THE Parking." It makes me feel like I've truly arrived.

Wonderful family owned chinese place right off of Leavenworth! The "Mom" that runs the place is super friendly and always helpful, the wait staff is on point and never disappoints. The food is sooooooooooooo cheap and very fresh. My recommendation is the V-4 with extra greenbeans or maybe the chicken lo-mein. Love this place!

The majority of the food is just fine -- fairly standard Chinese. However, the Basil Chicken -- veggies and chicken stir fried with basil, ginger and jalapenos, is absolutely outstanding. They also serve one of the best vegetable lo meins I've had. Thick noodles and a ton of crisp, fresh vegetables.

Total bang for your buck, americanized chinese food. Hole in the wall decor, weary about how clean it actually is, but that doesn't matter because the food itself is pretty fucking good. The jalapeno tofu is out of this world good. Tons of vegan and vegetarian options, and very good service. Sadly probably the best cheap chinese food in Omaha.

Decent "American" Chinese food, good prices, good service. (A heck of a lot better than China Town, also on Leavenworth, which I gave 1 star) I've had the Twice Cooked Pork (without the pineapple) and I thought it had good flavor and a good variety of vegetables. Also had the Chicken Fried Rice which is about the same as any other place. The crab rangoon, I'm a little disappointed with because there's some sort of weird flavor in the filling, oh well. The fried dumplings are good with the sauce it comes with.

Great vegetarian menu. They frequently have interesting specials, and the service is always fast and courteous.

I've only been here for take-out. They do have a large dinning area, although it seems to be a mostly take-out type of place. The service has been super quick, from ordering to receiving the food. The menu is HUGE and the food is incredibly cheap. But then the food is just okay. I have yet to find something I love here. Granted, I'm not a huge fan of Chinese to begin with, but I don't feel like I'm eating the freshest vegetables, high quality meat, or anything else here. It isn't bad, per se, just very, very unmemorable. I'll probably keep looking for a dish I love though, because this restaurant is so close to me and so cheap. Last time I ordered the curry based on another Yelp recommendation. I definitely didn't love it. Next time, I'm curious to try their peanut butter chicken. I'll update after I try a couple more dishes.

Peanutbutter chicken, is great.Little saucey, rich, andcreamy. All around tastey! Could be a lil more spicy, my own preference!

I was looking on here for some good reviews for a chinese place in midtown and happened to come across this place. I was really dissappointed. I thought the food was horrible... I had the Happy Family which is normally excellent (at Golden Palace @ 132nd and Maple anyways). The crab meat is fake, which almost always it is... But this was like fake fake crab meat. Also, the scallops were fake. I didn't know they even made fake scallops. Those were even worse. The vegetables were good and the sauce on it was ok. The fried rice was really bad too. It was like the rice was chopped up instead of being whole grains. The spring rolls that I normally get are made with a thinner crispy wrapping but these were used with the regular egg roll wrapping and were burnt which made the inside mushy. All in all I can't say I will ever go back there. And so my quest continues..... They have a wide variety of entrees that run in between $5-$10. Drinks will cost ya $1.50. It's cheap food, that's also cheap food.

Delicious Chinese food! This place has a wide selection of dishes including vegetarian options. I had the double baked pork. The brown sauce was especially flavorful and I liked that it came with soup and crab Rangoon. My boyfriend HIGHLY recommends the Yum Yum Chicken.

I have to say my family and I would often dine here at least once a month for a couple of years; my parents seemed to love this place, and were even known by some of the staff. But, I do have to say looking back this place is a good choice if you want chinese and fast and pretty inexpensive, but as far as quality it is pretty mediocre. I agree this place doesn't have any sense of authenticity, and I know that in the U.S. finding an actual authentic Chinese restaurant is pretty impossible, but usually a lot of restaurants try to incorporate native techniques into their food. I have to say I have not eaten there in over a year because I can no longer stomach the food after getting sick after eating there one time, and I do not miss it. I used to get the broccoli beef, but had to stop, the broccoli was basically raw and hard, and the sauce was bland. I then switched to the General Tso's, not bad but it is so smothered with sauce and breading it's hard to find any other flavors. I then went with sesame chicken, and again same problem. I will have to say the service I received there was really good, it was fast, and many times we were familiar with who was serving us and that made for a very pleasurable experience.

I love their generals chicken. Best in Omaha. Sometimes food is slow but always worth the wait. Sweet and sour soup is the best ever. A must have.

It's true, you get a good amount of food for a low price. The service is quick, but not brusque if you choose to dine in. The ambience is not a place where they invested a lot of time and money, but that wouldn't be why I would eat here. It's friendly, cheap, pretty comfortable and the food tastes fresh with lots of crunchy, stir-fried veggies. They'll make a dish spicy if you ask for it and it's speedy if you're in a hurry. I think it's great for a quick weekday dinner or lunch.

We eat here EVERY TIME we go to Omaha to see my wife's family because her dad loves the place, the menu is typically expansive and the prices are rock bottom. This restaurant will never win any "best of" awards (even in Omaha), but you can cheaply feed a small army. Last time I had Shanghai Noodles that sort of tasted like SpaghettiOs. The Sesame Chicken isn't bad and the Hot n' Sour Soup is actually pretty good. Normally, I try something different every time, eat way too much and end up laying on the floor when we get home in some sort of fat n' carb induced pseudo-coma. Good times, good times.

Sure, it's just your standard Midwestern Chinese restaurant with Sweet and Sour Chicken, Moo Goo Gai Pan, Egg Rolls, and Mongolian Beef, but it is THE BEST of its kind in Omaha, and they even have a few less common dishes, too.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
