I ordered the honey green tea with pearls. The boba was cooked well and the drink is not overly sweet. Most of the time, when the simple parts are made correctly, I personally will feel safe ordering other drinks. And I definitely feel safe returning to try their other drinks in the future. I would really like though, if they added grass jelly! The staff here are friendly, the drink was made quickly, and the place looks nice and clean. Overall, I think this is a great addition to Midtown Crossing and the Omaha community.

Hurrah! A decent boba place in Omaha. Moving to the Midwest, I had very low expectations in terms of being able to find Asian snacks and the quality. I've only had the drinks at Thirst Tea but they offer a variety of flavors (from taro to mango to Thai tea), in hot or cold form, as milk teas, slushes, etc. There is also a variety of jellies and boba you can get with your drink. Overall I'm impressed. I haven't ate the food but the quality of the drinks are on par with what you would find at other boba/tea houses on the West Coast. The place is also really clean.

Best boba/bubble tea place in Omaha! Been here more than 15 times. Very authentic and tasty food. Onigiri, takoyaki, and Chinese fried cruller are all delicious!

Boba in Nebraska though! Got passion fruit green tea with mixed jelly and boba. HELLA good. The thirst is real.

Loved my first time here! The vibe, service, and drinks my friends and I got were perfect. Sad that I have to drive all the way to Omaha, but it's worth it! In my boba/bubble tea experiences in Nebraska, the tapioca pearls are always hard, the teas are just ice, and just tastes gross. Thirst-tea's was creamy and the pearls were soft! Reminded me of the time I lived in Houston. I highly recommend the Taro Milk Tea and I forgot the name of it exactly, but it's U3 on the menu. Will be coming back for more soon!

Another new Omaha gem that I found through yelp. Great little shop with a huge variety of teas and coffees. Love the bubble teas! Didn't get to try any snacks but it is definitely on my radar for a return run. If you are walking around midtown... stop in. Great selection!

Great selection of boba (bubble) tea. Took the family there for dessert after dinner. The place just recently opened and situated nicely in midtown. This is gonna be a new favorite place for us to go to.

This place is great, to be quite honest. Good bubble tea is hard to come by, but this place does more than just great bubble/boba tea - it does hot tea and tea slushes alongside some great snacks. I have only tried the shrimp tempura onigiri so far, but it was amazing. I recommend the Strawberry Slush, Lovely, and Green Tea popping boba. What's cool is that their punch cards to get a free drink also have the menu.

It's nice to finally have a boba spot in Omaha. The decor is nice and I like the different types of onigiri. The boba is alright though, it's pretty decent but not the same I miss drinking from California.

Best milk tea I have ever had! I love Thirst-Tea & highly recommend it. Definitely the best boba in Omaha & probably in Nebraska! I recommend the M4, the M3, & D4. 5 stars for sure. & everyone who works there is so friendly!

  • Alli B.

Kind of overpriced, for boba, but I like the flavor on their Thai tea better than whatever version The Tea Smith sold me. Both times that I've gone, the boba was the right consistency and texture. I'll use them as my main place until I can find the same quality for less.

Checked it out after reading the previous Yelp reviews. In town from Houston where we have tons of Boba options. Thirst-tea does not disappoint!

I have grown to love bubble teas from my travels on the west coast, and so I was sure to check out this place on its opening day. The tea tastes just like other authentic bubble teas that I have tried in the West coast and definitely the best bubble tea in Omaha! The prices are reasonable at $3.50 for small and $4.25 for large. They will customize the tea to your liking and they have heat sealed lids so you don't spill tea all over your car (too many bad experiences with that). The peachee or peach lychee was very refreshing on a hot day, the perfect mix of green tea and fruit flavor. They have Asian snacks, which is a limited menu of appetizers and egg rolls. It decor looks cheery with a bright modern interior and white counter, but the server told me it is a local place. She was very friendly and willing to answer any of my questions. Very catchy name as well. Great place to stop after farmers market at Midtown. I will definitely become a regular! Welcome to Omaha!

Damned tasty Thai tea on my visit here. The boba weren't as flavorful as I'd like but all in all the tea was great. I liked the atmosphere and it's very easy to get in and out of. Yet another place in Midtown Crossing to separate me from my hard earned money, four dollars at a time.

  • Brenda C.

The store is really noisy so it was difficult to talk with others in my group. The service could be a bit faster but not terrible. There are a lot of options and the drinks were good. It is nice to have a bubble tea option in Omaha.

What a terrific tea treat. Their flavors are soooo good. The best boba I've ever had. I'll go back again and again!!!! Loves it!!!!!!

So, I reside in Omaha (for the time being) and finding any ASIAN goods let alone Asian drinks and baked goods. Well I was eating at CRAVE (next door) and I saw this place and LITERALLY let out a WOOHOO!!!! So of course, the next day, came by and was super excited to see ACTUAL ASIANS running the place! YES BOBA and fresh juices DELICIOUS! They also have appetizers there (though I have yet to try them) So, if you are craving a new sensation that has hit the Omaha nation, then head over to this place for REAL BOBA and REAL jelly and REAL drinks that actually make things living in Omaha a better place for me and for all the other Asians out here...now...to find AN AUTHENTIC CHINESE Restaurant.... Oh and bonus? The dudes here are really awesome and can actually put up with my craziness.

I finally made it to Thirst tea after reading the reviews here on yelp! By reading the reviews, I kind of went in with high expectations considering everyone just loved this place! I must say, I was not disappointed! The first time I went, I ordered a Thai tea. I t was really good! Especially since the last Thai tea I had, which was in Boulder, was really gross, the Thai tea here was refreshing! We also ordered the mango slush, and a taro. They were all really good! Not only does Thirst tea serve boba tea, the also serve some food too! We ordered the takoyaki and a couple spam onigiris. So good!!! Being from Hawaii, we like spam so of course we liked those and the takoyaki? My husband and daughter really loved the fact you could actually see the octopus AND they said they were good! Since Thirst tea exceeded our expectations, we plan to be regulars here and bring everyone we know too!

I fell in love with bubble drinks while living in Hawaii, and I was excited to hear about this semi-new place in midtown. I haven't been to midtown much, but there is a park right below Thirst-Tea where you can get some sun while sipping on your delicious concoction. There is also a ping pong table there that Thirst-Tea will provide equipment for. The regular boba (tapioca pearls) were quite delicious and a great consistency. I tried a mango slush-type drink that featured some mango popping boba as well, which I had never experienced. These popping boba were very delightful and provided an additional burst of mango with each sip. Thirst-Tea also provides a few food items as well, but we didn't try any on this visit. Service was very friendly and helpful, considering this was our first time here. They were patient and answered all of our questions, and they even provided us with a punchcard to earn purchases toward a free drink. The space was very vibrant, and I think they even offer WIFI to guests. Price point was a little high with a regular size putting you back about $4.50. This seems to be the norm for specialty drinks these days, similar to Starbucks and the like. For such a delicious and unique item you can't get everywhere, I would gladly pay this price for my delicious drink. Overall, Thirst-Tea provided a great location, great service, a great drink, and a great experience.

So I've been wanting to come here for awhile and I have rather mixed feelings about it. I came here just before Jazz on the green started, so maybe that effected my stay. There was three people working. One lady making the tea, one dude taking the orders, and another guy that kept walking around but not really doing much? Anyways, I told the guy I had never been there before and I wanted something without caffeine. He told me the only thing I could get is the taro and the coconut because everything else has caffeine. I was hoping for like herbal tea used instead of the black version but okay I guess whatever. I'm a little disappointed at the lack of "customizing". Yes I could have picked jelly over boba or whatever, but I dunno. Maybe I'm being a brat about this. We got two items, a med Taro boba and a med Coco boba. Between the two I liked the taro better but eh.. neither were something I'd write home about. Both were ridiculously sweet, like they would give Starbucks a run for their money sweet. The taro was very light in taro flavor, could have been double what it was. The coconut was really strange. It didn't take like artificial coconut, coconut milk, or even real coconut. I can't really place the taste, but it didn't scream coconut to me. I wanted to try the takoyaki however we had just eaten so I wasn't hungry. If I go there again hopefully they are less busy and the person working can help me figure out something else that is more "customized". Reading the reviews I guess I expected more. Again, I'm willing to try again in the future if I find myself in the neighborhood. If the management reads this, I'd also love if you'd consider adding calorie/nutritional information on your website. Ty!

Absolutely amazing place!! Shortly after I met my fiancé he got me hooked on boba drinks and we've never looked back! We didn't think there was a place like this is Omaha, so we were thrilled to discover it. Their employees are friendly and efficient, the reward card is a great perk since we're there all the time, and the Vietnamese iced coffee with boba is AMAZING!! We look forward to our next trip here very soon!!

After multiple recommendations from friends and reading the highly positive reviews from other Yelpers thus far, my husband and I visited Thirst-Tea this past weekend for a cold drink after a long day of yard work. We were greeted right away and told to ask any questions we had if necessary; there were SO many options, so we took a few moments to just read through the menu - there are white teas, black teas, green teas, milky teas, etc. They all come with a particular topping - e.g., boba, fruit "jelly," etc. - but you can switch out with a different topping if you choose. I ordered the "dark" (black tea) passion fruit tea, with boba instead of the jelly, and my husband got the dark peach with boba. Both were fantastic - the boba was awesome, the tea itself was sweet but not overly, and I liked that I could taste the distinct passion fruit and peach flavors, respectively, as sometimes fruity teas can just be generically sweet. I will definitely be back often, as there are so many other teas I want to try, like the milky teas and the teas with popping bobas! Thirst-Tea is a great addition to Midtown Crossing!

I came here because I saw the reviews... I love that tea. I got the thai tea with regular boba. I usually do not like bobas but this place had the best I've ever had!!! Now, I am hooked. I thought about this place since I left. I also tried a few sips of the coconut and mango boba tea.. delish. It is also neat that you can swap the bobas for whatever flavor you want. Delish. Now, that I'm talking about it... I might have to play them a visit later tonight! OH YEAAA and they have popping boba!! SCOREEE!! LOVES THEM!

I reiterate EVERYTHING I said in my prior review. Tommy never fails to deliver! In spite of the fact that he is now diminished in employees, he and his small staff know the meaning of the word "hustle". After the recent review in the Omaha World Herald and a change for the better in the weather, this place is slammed! So, when you come down, be prepared to wait a bit. Don't fret! It's TOTALLY worth the wait. Feeling adventurous? Love Green Tea ice cream? Take a plunge and go for the Japanese Matcha... It's my new #1 - followed closely by S1 - blended Mango with Mango jellie (add boba)!!!

Huge fan of Boba, if you are too than this is the spot and pretty much the only spot for your fix. Have been a frequent visitor since they opened and recognized by the owner as I found out recently. Can't go wrong with recommendations from the veteran staff, highly recommend getting a large as any smaller will leave you craving. They also have an great rewards program punch card!

Thrist-Tea is right by my house, so I am proud to say that I'm a regular. I could eat their onigiri EVERDAY OF MY LIFE. I cannot express how addicting they are. My favorite ones are the seaweed and the Yoshi's. The spicy mayo-based sauce that comes with the onigiri goes so well with them. Oh right, boba. So yummy! Wash down those onigiri with a green tea matcha boba and you'll be in heaven. The jellies are a little difficult to slurp through the straw, but I like the (classic) boba better anyway. The takoyaki is also worth trying, and they eggrolls are always fresh, hot, crispy, and not too greasy. Service is also top-notch. No complaints about Thirst-Tea!

What a wonderful addition to Midtown Crossing and Omaha in general. The crew at Thirst-Tea not only make the best damn bubble tea you'll have, but they also offer a menu of appetizers that features a few dishes you won't find elsewhere in town. I went with the Japanese Matcha tea, which was creamy, sweet and a little earthy. Food-wise, I tried the gyoza (you know, little pot-stickers), spam onigiri (spam inside a rice patty that you wrap in seaweed) and takoyaki (little balls filled with octopus, mayonnaise and a Worchestershire-like sauce) -- all served up fast, fresh and street food style. Everything was delicious. Everything tasted great. For those not into bubble tea (basically little tapioca balls in your drink), Thirst-Tea offers bubbles infused with tons and tons of different flavors. For those who love bubble tea, this also mean you can experiment with many different flavor combinations. Thirst-tea is a great spot to sit and relax and enjoy some great tea and apps with your friends. It's especially nice to have another option at Midtown Crossing that doesn't focus on fine dining or booze.

Every boba place (penguin cafe anyone?) has let me down in Omaha except this one. A legit boba place in Omaha is long overdue. Thirst-tea is legit. From the heat sealed lids to the tv projected menu.. classic authentic Taiwanese boba shop right in Omaha. Same layout, same concept, etc. as my favorite Taiwanese boba shop back in Honolulu. Same type of menu items as well. If you're from Hawaii you're gonna love this place. Firstly it's close to Creighton. Second they have SPAM on the menu. Probably the first place in Omaha to have this, seriously. But even if you're not familiar with boba, I think it's about time Midwesterners are introduced to it. In California these shops are a dime a dozen, especially in places like San Gabriel in SoCal or San Francisco. I honestly think that Thirst Tea is a force to be reckoned with, paving the way for authentic asian food to be a part of the Omaha food scene. With food items like Takoyaki, spam nigiri, and shrimp tempura nigiri-- they offer a twist to the standard "drinks only" boba shop. I actually ordered the Takoyaki and it was sooo good. Definitely authentic. Katsuobushi, shredded seaweed, kewpie mayo and everything!! Took me straight back to the Takoyaki stand they have in Honolulu at this giant Japanese store called Shirokiya. I also got a small taro milk tea which was also very good. Boba was not too soft but not too hard, just right. The milk tea itself was a bit sweet for me, but still good, I think you can adjust sweetness if you asked so I will do that next time. The only negative thing I have to say is that 3.50 for a shrimp tempura nigiri does not fly for me. Lol there better be like 4 shrimp tempura's in that thing..! Otherwise that's way too expensive! Fellow omahans-- you have to give this place a try. Seriously. If I had this in my college years I wouldn't have been so homesick and craving asian food. So happy this place has found a home here. Cheers to the owner. You've made this Hawaii girl feel at home in Omaha.

Superbly tasty! Get all the popping bobas! This place reminds me of Budapest, Hungary bubble tea, same style, same great taste.

This is a great spot to hang out with friends. They are specialized in bubble tea (slush or milk style) and have many other type of flavor tea drinks with unique toppings like tapioca, strawberry pops, etc. They also sell small snacks like rice musubi, chicken wings and takoyaki. The place is very nice and clean. The staffs are friendly and down to earth. I like to study here most of the time.

Best tea in Omaha! This tea shop reminds me of the ones in Taiwan, a great place to relax while enjoying some tea and snacks. I ordered a small Thai tea and my boyfriend ordered the Taro. The boba wasn't too chewy or mushy and the drinks in general were super tasty. There was a great selection on flavors and though I didn't order this, the other bubble tea drinks have actual tea in it (black, jasmine, etc) and you can also get fruit jelly or popping boba! We also ordered gyoza, 6 to an order, which seemed to have a light coating of Panko, which made it even better. Being a nice day, we were able to go outside and walk around since it is located in Midtown Crossing. Prices are great, the atmosphere is modern, and the staff was really friendly. Overall, this is definitely my new place to grab tea before or after class.

I had a chance to try the snacks and food here-cheap and delicious. It's not busy here so it's an awesome place to sit and study or meet with friends for afternoon boba and snacks. Highly recommend. I especially liked the gyoza and the wings. The takoyaki was better than I was expecting just a little too saucy for me--but it was done correctly which is key! Great Japanese snack food. Also got my usually milk tea on ice with boba.

Stepping into the store was a like deja vu to Taiwan. Well, except for the fact that I could read and pronounce the menu at Thirst-Tea as opposed to mispronouncing or mistoning a Mandarin-only menu...thus reducing me to sounding like a babbling American baby pointing at random drinks as if playing boba tea roulette. I digress... Since this was my first visit, opted for the large size standard zhenzhu naicha. Perfectly prepped boba, swimming in sweet and creamy black tea, sealed up authentic style in a cup you can throw in your purse. No time to try the snacks on this visit, but definitely returning to give it a go. Apparently, in the early days of opening there were even more options including grass jelly and red bean (I HEART RED BEAN), but alas, our Midwest community wasn't quite ready for all of the "beverage that you can also chew" options so the menu was scaled back. While I'm simultaneously in love with this boba tea joint, I admit to my fear of the reappearing third chin as a result of a regular infusion of milk tea, boba, slushies and lychee jellies. I s'pose I can always name it.

  • Annaliese O.

Tried the taro and coconut boba teas. I asked that the sweetness on my drink be cut but it was still so sweet I could hardly finish half of it. Tried takoyaki, which was essentially a savory Asian fast food gut bomb. Would have been better without being saturated in mayo and other sauce. Although the service was great and the place was clean I probably won't go back. Too bad of a stomach ache after leaving.

I drink boba regularly so when a friend invited me to try a new place while I was in town it was an obvious yes. This is by far the best boba place I've ever been to. There is a lot of seating, modern decor, & very friendly staff. But the boba is the real treat!! I got the Taro milk tea with regular boba. The boba (tapioca) is cooked perfectly! Its soft & chewy but not at all mushy! I hate when its too hard or mushy, this was perfect! The drink was flavored perfectly too! It didn't taste too sugary or too much like the power like I've had before. I loved it! So cheap too! $3.50 for a regular & $4.50 for a large! In Virginia Beach I pay $4.65 for a regular! My friends got the slush with green tea flavoring & regular boba & the passion fruit white tea with lychee jellies, both were super good too! They have such a wide variety of boba: regular, different flavored popping bobas, & different flavored jellies! They do green, white, black, & milk teas as well as slushes & smoothies. They have snacks too! The hours are also great. They're open until 11pm on week nights! All in all this place is amazing & I wish I lived here so I could come here everyday! You've got to go try one of their boba tea drinks! :)

Hands down best Bubble Tea in Omaha and one of the best I've ever had in general... I travel a great deal and one of the "trends" I picked up on was bubble tea. Unfortunately Omaha really fell short in this area until Thirst Tea arrived in town. The teas are absolutely amazing! There is a diverse menu allowing one to truly customize their drink. Even the bobas have varieties to them! Drinks are amazing and the establishment itself is a happening spot. It's authentic bubble tea in that the lids are sealed and fat straws need to be used to consume it. Service is always friendly. This summer I will be taking classes at Creighton. I look forward to enjoying time at Thirst Tea and bringing friends to enjoy!

  • Sarah M.

I've never had the opportunity to try tea with jelly or boba: what they call a Bubble Tea. I had the honey jasmine honey green tea with aloe jelly. It comes in a plastic cup with a heat sealed lid that you poke your extra large straw through, like a grown up capri sun. I was suspicious of the aloe pieces in the bottom, but it was really very good. I can get used to eating my tea, if all of their drinks are that good!

guys that work there are real friendly and perfectly willing to help with large selection. the drinks taste great. The food helps tame my asian food craving as I have not come across great Chinese in Omaha thus far.

What a great find. I had been looking for them on Farnham, but they are actually on the park, so drive into the middle of midtown crossing and hop out of your car. The bopa was delicious, and next time I'll be sure to try the food (more like apps than a meal...) Definitely a fun place, and a great destination if you have kids.
