Went here for the first time today and absolutely loved it! Had a taster of the soup - Split Pea and Ham and a hamburger pizza. The pizza was the perfect size and the crust was done to perfection - not burned crispy, not doughy, but a good chewiness. Finished with a taster of all the desserts and settled for the torte - light, airy, delicious, but not sickeningly sweet. The real standout out at Tasty Pastry is the staff and owners. They seemed to know all of their customers and could not be more helpful, upbeat, and caring about their restaurant and the food. Heading out of town tomorrow, but already plotting my next trip back!

This place. Go to it. It's amazingly cheap ($4 for a pizza), and the food is so good. The bacon gouda pizza is amazing, as is the baked potato soup. And, of course, the desserts are to die for. If you get the chance, try the torte (they have tons of free samples every day). We tried a piece and ended up buying a whole log. It's hidden away in what was clearly a little house, but it just adds to the overall feel.

This is in my Top 5 best restaurants in Omaha, and a meal for 2 people won't run you more than 15 bucks. You MUST catch them between the hours of 10 and 2, and they are closed for a couple of weeks sometimes, but it is worth making room in your schedule to get here because it is THAT good and THAT affordable. A disclaimer - I can only eat a few of the soups here, and I can eat the salads as long as they have the grilled chicken on them (and not the breaded one that comes in the Chicken Slaw sandwich). All of that being said, the fact that I can still call it one of my favorite places in the city is really saying something! Alma works at the front counter, usually, and she is a treasure. She will almost always offer you a sample of the daily soups, and she is a kind, gentle, friendly, warm, patient person. Mary is the head of the Tasty Pastry household, and while she would be intimidating to work for (in my opinion, from what I've seen), she is a perfectionist and it shows in the food that comes out of this kitchen. If you catch the Red Pepper soup when it's available, it is heaven in a cup, and the Hamburger Soup they offer sometimes is surprisingly special. There is always a fresh topping bar for soups that includes cheese, green onion, cilantro, sour cream, and maybe a couple other things. The pizzas here range from $2.50 to $5.50 for an 8 inch. That's it! I've brought one home for my husband a couple of times and he always inhales it in a matter of minutes. The salads here are so fresh, and so affordable ($2.50, chicken is +$2). Better than campus food, fresher than campus food, and you're supporting local business. Walk down from UNO if you've got a break between classes and do this thing. They are a gluten-rich restaurant, and don't offer many gluten-free variations. I was accidentally glutened here one time (there must have been a thickener in a soup, and I had vertigo and hives for a couple of days), but that was my fault for not asking. Nevertheless, they aren't super celiac-friendly. If you have serious issues with wheat, tread carefully. A true Midtown gem worthy of your time and money.

Great little mini pizzas! They close for summer break. I'm looking forward to frequenting for lunch once they reopen.

It's ridiculously affordable, it's crazy good, it's quick, it's convenient and damn, it's Tasty. My love for this little place has grown exponentially over the course of the last month. From ever-expanding and exciting pizza flavor combinations (white mushroom pizza w bechamel sauce, swiss cheese, garlic confit, and fresh jalapeno!) to ever-changing soups served cafeteria style and some kind of magical slaw recipe to go with the chicken sandwich... not to mention the restaurant namesake pastries. These things have catapulted this place into my top 5 Omaha restaurants. Keep up the great work!

This place is like your aunts house who is a way better cook than your mom. Everything is great and a very reasonable price. The pizza is good and made to order. The baked goods are great and also very cheap for what you're getting. The staff is very kind. Street parking in the adjacent neighborhoods.

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile but am rarely in this area, so when I found myself near here for an appointment, I decided to order take-out before I headed back to work. I called ahead and ordered the 8 inch Bacon Gouda Pizza and was told it would be ready in about 10 minutes. Parking is a bit of a nightmare. They have about 6 places to park and then everyone else just spills over into street parking, which isn't the greatest and reaches way up the street. Once I parked and made it inside, I was quickly greeted by the very friendly women at the cash register who quickly retrieved my order. I couldn't resist the temptation of the pastry counter, so I also ordered a huge slice of raspberry torte. My order for the pizza and the torte was just over $8, which was extremely reasonable. I took my order to-go, but the seating area looked extremely cozy. The restaurant, itself, isn't very big, but has a very nice "homey" feel to it. They also had a few tables outside that looked like it would be an awesome place to grab lunch on a nice day. The pizza was amazing! I think this is probably the best pizza I have had in Omaha next to Pitch. There was a ton of bacon on it and the gouda was delicious and creamy. There was also an onion jam that added a great level of flavor to the pizza. The raspberry torte is probably one of the best pastries I have had. It had about 100 different layers and each one was incredibly complex. It was flaky and the raspberry filling was incredibly flavorful and decadent. They have soup options every day that sound very interesting. On the day I was in it was a cold cucumber soup. I have already recommended this place to several people and will definitely be making an effort to return here again. Their prices are crazy low for the incredible high quality of the food!

Love love love this quaint little adorable place. A real house that has been converted into a perfect little lunch place. The prices are insanely reasonable!!! The bacon Gouda pizza special today was $2.50!! Seating and parking are a bit limited but this place is unique so just deal with it. Great friendly fast service. Definitely going back

This is a great locally owned and sourced neighborhood pizza joint. I liked the pizza but I was not pleased with the limited parking and also the small seating area in the restaurant. That said, the staff was really great here. They hand toss the dough and each pie is individually made. The main pizza chef saw me poking around looking for a table and made it a point to ask me if I needed help and then proceeded to find me a table. I went at 1pm on a friday- there was zero parking and no available tables when I walked in the door. We ordered a gouda bacon and spinach feta pizza- there was not much wait time and the pizza was hot and fresh. I enjoyed both of them. We also ordered the torte for desert, lovely light finish to the meal. The pizza prices range from $3.5-$6 for slighter-larger-than-personal pan sized pie. Additionally they have salad, soup, and empanada on the menu. I do think this is a great value and somewhere to check out, but I dont want to go during a rush meal hour again.

Even though they have the strangest hours and close for several weeks at a time, I LOVE THIS PLACE. The pizza is incredibly cheap with fresh ingredients. Their pastries are light and delectable. It can get crowded, but it's definitely worth the wait.

Adorable neighborhood restaurant. Everything is good...the soup, the pizza, the baked goods. My only complaint is that they don't charge enough! During lunch I saw one man try to over pay because he felt that the food was worth more. The owner refused to take his money. There were also 2 other parties that tried to tip, but their tips were not accepted. it almost. feels like the owner gets so much delight in cooking for folks that she's not even concerned about making a profit. The food is so good though, even if the prices were double what they are now, I'd still rate it 5 stars! I will def be back!

I arrived here right before they got slammed. Lady behind the counter was not the usual one to take orders. My pizza got sent to another table, so they made a new one up for me and gave me a bowl of soup for my troubles. Everything was great, I had their potato pizza, but was looking at some Empanada's for my return visit.

I've been wanting to stop in to this place for a while, and finally made time to stop in for a to-go order over lunch. The inside is very quaint and inviting, with super friendly people running it. They had several types of soup that day, and the owner was quite willing to let me sample them. They are all homemade, as everything in their restaurant is. I had a hard time deciding what to get, so decided on a cup of soup and an individual margherita pizza. Both were very good and so reasonably priced! Even the pizza crust is homemade! I can't wait to stop in again! I'm rooting for their success, but with good homemade food at an awesome price...there is no reason they won't make it!!

Outstanding food with criminally low prices. Everything's made from scratch -- the soups, pizza dough, etc. Save room for dessert as well; the Lithuanian torte is the best in town.

This place is great for lunch and has a nice patio when it's warm out! Had the pizza and soup. They were both very good. The pizza are better made than the average. The soups are homemade and very good. The service was quick even though they were pretty busy.

Amazing pizzas, soups and pastries. Actually, the best pizza in Omaha. The staff is very friendly and the food is very affordable. The ingredients are very fresh and many are sourced locally. Great place to grab lunch. Never hard to find parking.

I hate to let out such a good secret. Employees are super friendly like you feel at home. Your food is extremely tasty and the prices are great! Minimal parking and seating but it's definitely worth the wait.

After driving by countless times, I finally stopped yesterday. I had a sausage pizza and it was excellent! It was also extremely affordable. Very limited hours, unfortunately. Parking can be problematic which is the only downside.

What a gem! Small and bright, with pieces remaining from its former status as a home, this place is taking off. At midday on a bank holiday Monday, they were almost understaffed, but they kicked up the pace and made it work. The baked potato soup was delicious, with a toppings bar to add your own cheese, cilantro, and sour cream. The pizza is perfection. I'm not a traditional pizza fan, but the unique pies with fresh and varied toppings are sublime. I had the Mediterranean, with local goats cheese (mild and tangy), olives, spinach, peppers and artichokes. My boyfriend had the bacon and gouda. Both were delivered hot out of the oven on a perfect personal pan sized dish. We even took some home so that we would have room for a few pastries. This was a good decision! The eclairs were filled with a rich pudding cream, and the cake was intensely flavorful. Worth a visit, and you will want to return... Hope it doesn't get too busy, and that they don't change their prices!

Love this place! Pizzas are fantastic and the tarts are equally as amazing! The parking sucks but I usually park down by the houses and walk a bit. Everything else looks fantastic, but I haven't tried anything else because the pizza is sooo good! Bacon Gouda is perfection!

I finally had a chance to try the pizza myself. It's as good as the rest of the families says. The crust is thin and chewy. Just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The staff is incredibly accommodating and cheerful. Additionally, their pastries are simply divine. Still wish they could stay open until 6 or 7, at least a couple days a week. When they do that, I'll update to 5 stars!

I'm so excited to have a new little bakery in the neighborhood. They have short hours, but everything can be taken to go, to serve later. I tried the chicken tortilla soup they other day. Brought home some fresh tomato with basil and the empanadas. Those area a must repeat. I am special ordering the carrot cake for our next family birthday. Yum!

This is my new favorite lunch spot in Omaha. As noted in another review, it's an incredible bargain. More importantly, they have delicious homemade food. Everything my husband & I have tried in two visits has been exceptional (individual pizzas, soup, empanadas, cookies). I hope they don't price themselves out of business! We're hoping they're in the neighborhood to stay. We'll pay more...or gladly tip for the friendly service & great food. : )

The freshly-baked goodies change every day and are absolutely delicious. The rotating soups are also great and are so completely homemade -- we've already decided where we'll go for chicken soup the next time a member of our household gets sick. The ham and havarti sandwich was good but nothing you couldn't make at home. Another customer told me I should try the caprese sandwich next time. The prices are crazy low -- 30 or 50 cents for a fresh baked cookie, $2 for a real fruit smoothie, $3 for a bowl of soup... and they won't even let you leave a tip! We'll be doing our part to keep them in business by being repeat customers!

OMAHA'S HIDDEN GEM! I stumbled upon this little French Bakery because of a sign announcing that they now serve pizza. I had unfortunately missed operating hours, but the owner still managed to help me out and served me fresh black bean soup. It was delicious and taste homemade - yet healthy. I have yet to try the sandwiches or pizza but at those prices, I HAVE to go back. I can already tell that it's better than Godfather's or Little Caesars. I was able to see the owner and chefs prepping for tomorrow and they use fresh produce everyday and from Whole Foods!! I wish this place was a cafe and open longer, but I will continue to support them and their four hour business work days. You can seriously have a satisfying meal for two under 10 bucks here.
