Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

I had your Italian Nachos followed by Amy's Pizza today and both were totally delicious. We took some home for family. I've been here a handful of times before and I've always had great food and great service. Great place to read and relax!

Pick up a small anchovies pizza, and I finished it before I made it back downtown. Both because I enjoyed it and I was starving. Funny thing is I've never eatin a anchovies pizza before but a picture on yelp looked fantastic and all in all it was pretty good I've only eatin here once that's why I'm only giving 3 stars. I don't plan on making this my regular pizza spot only because I'm new to town and I like trying new places.

Loved the Tuscan Chicken Pizza! Service was good.

A Benson favorite. Thin crust pizza and fresh ingredients. Nothing too crazy, but just right. Even though I've been intrigued by the other items on the menu - baked pasta, greasy sandwiches, various deep-fried appetizers - I've never had anything but the pizza, which is always a winner. They serve by the slice Thursday-Saturday nights, which is nice. My only complaint is that service gets a bit slow if the place is packed, but that can be forgiven.

we used to like coming here and thought the pizza was pretty good but not anymore. Over the last 6 months or more the pizza has gotten bad. The crust is thin and tastes like water crackers . I complained last time and they said it was probably that the pizza maker just made it too thin. It is just BAD crust and the sauce is only mediocre. The Canadian bacon was pretty flavorless too and had gristle. I think the reviewer who compared this to store brand frozen pizza was accurate. I gave it two stars because we have always had good service and last night in particular our waitress Alece was very attentive and apologetic when I complained about the pizza. I told her I know it was not her fault but she said she would be sure to inform management and she gave us a $10 discount. I thought that was extremely generous.

I have eaten here several times and have ordered out on occasion. My favorite pizza is the Chicken Sink. They have nailed on ingredient combining, in my opinion. I have not had a bad experience with any of the food I've eaten, and the service has always been friendly, even when ordering close to closing time. I get the sense that the employees are appreciated by the ownership, and that seems to ensure a good product. The added bonus of a party room that regularly hosts music and spoken word is another bonus. I am grateful that this restaurant is thriving in a part of town that features a LOT of good beer, but not as much short order/grab n go/family style dining. The only thing I'd like to see change for the better would be a bigger beer selection and a little more attention paid to bathroom cleanliness.

I went to the pizza shoppe & pub on weds. It was about 4 pm. When I walked in I was immediately waited on by a waitress. She was very pleasant and asked what I would like to drink. I said I didn't know and she was quick to offer their current specials. I scanned the menu and quickly I realized this wasn't your run of the mill boring pizza menu. I decided to order a prince size skull duggery. Which consisted of cream cheese, pepperoni, jalapenos, canadian bacon, red onion, cheddar and mozzarella. Prince is a small personal size pizza with thin crust. I was impressed with the unique taste of the cream cheese and jalapeno peppers. I would highly recommend this for anyone wanting the pizza and pub experience. I will definitely go back to this location.

Yeah. This place is terrible. We waited 10 minutes at one table and when not a single server even glanced our way (one woman walked by our table several times) we moved to a different table where we waited 10 minutes more. There were five of us, two ordered pizza to share, another ordered her own pizza and two of us ordered sandwiches. After some time the waiter came back with the pizzas but no sandwiches. No big deal we thought. The sandwiches must be on the way. Wrong. The people with their food finished before the waiter even came back. When we asked about our sandwiches, he said the computer "ate" our order and asked if we wanted him to put in another order. We did not. What kind of waiter doesn't realize that he hasn't brought enough food for a table of five? What kind of waiter doesn't even have a vague idea of what a table ordered so he could take a guess that maybe something was wrong? A horrible waiter. That's what kind. The people that did get food said their pizza was okay.

This was my second trip to the Pizza Shoppe in two months. Pretty much the same as before. The staff was great, the food was fine. There really is only one complaint. I did not mention it last time because I thought it was just a freak thing, but when it was the same, I am thinking it's normal. The problem is simple...the pizza stick to the box on carry out. Has to use a spatula to loosen it, and then peel some of the cardboard off the pizza. Maybe a piece of waxed paper on the bottom of the box? Pizza was great - sans cardboard.

We made some new friends during the Omaha Caffeine Crawl and decided to go out for pizza on a Saturday night. Our first stop was Baxters, but their wait was over an hour long. Our new friends suggested we try Pizza Shoppe and we just happened to show up right when a table was cleared. We also happened to show up in Omaha during the night of their Viking Zombie parade / party. The nightlife was crawling with people dressed up as Viking Zombies which made for a very amusing and very entertaining dinner! The pitchers of beer we ordered were delicious. The pizza we weren't too fond of; too thin, too small, and not enough toppings. But we were hungry and in the presence of lovely new friends so we happily ate it anyway. Pizza Shoppe on a Saturday night was very packed, very loud, and full of lively and interesting people!

Pizzas are on the small sized; the crust is medium-thin and somewhat crispy. Make sure you order your pizza with extra sauce as they can be rather dry without. Service is quite good even when crowded. Overall, pizza is mediocre and slightly better than chain pizza restaurants, but till your best bet for pizza in the Benson area.

  • Miranda H.

The food was awful. The only way this place survives is on drunk people that need to eat. The beers are good but the good needs some work. I don't recommend this place at all.

Very good selection of different pizzas. Other than that, that's about it. It was our first time there. We orderd 2 queen size pizzas and spaghetti for our daughter. Along with 2 sodas our bill came to $41 and some change. The 2 pizzas alone were $15.59 each. Didn't think that was bad until they came out. Quite small. They have 3 sizes, jack-queen and king. A jack size is $10. They also have an individual size that must be the size of a pizza bagel. Pizza was good, nothing special. Like I've said in previous reviews, with pizza getting expensive you have 1 chance to wow me. This place didn't. I would rather take my $40 and get twice as much food from one of the chains.

The pizza menu offers creative and inspired pie combos that are unique to the shoppe. $1 PBR draws on Fridays make it a great happy hour stop. The house salad with the house dressing, The Pink Stuff, are a staple every time I eat there. The last time I ate there I was flying solo and the place was packed, so I perched at the bar. Despite the orderly chaos of a full restaurant, service was fast and friendly. An awesome place for pizza or to check out new events.

Hawaiian was awesome. Prompt and friendly service. Not too busy on a Saturday around lunch time.

Gimme a break, gimme a break, break me off a piece of that... PIzza Shoppe? Ah, the Pizza Shoppe. It's been years since I've been here but I always remember it being awesome. I can't vouche for the prices but I need to go back here when I visit Omaha again because the pizza is just awesome. The pizzas are nice and big, and they are thick too so it doesn't take a lot to fill you up. I can't recall much else from the menu but I know there's a reason why I love this place. Just another one of my Omaha favorites. It's the best. =)

Benson's Pizza Shoppe. Food= 2 stars. We ordered from literally every category of their menu last night, and all of it tasted beyond awful. The pastas were probably the worst I've ever had in Omaha. And for some reason, our Spaghetti and Meatballs, Lasagna, Manicotti, And Canneloni all tasted identical. So much so that we couldn't even distinguish whose dish we were tasting. The sauce comes out of a can, and the cheese filling tastes like it was canned also. Blehhh. Service was 3 stars. The waitress gave me a big hassle when I tried to pay with a gift certificate, as this was the most confusing concept to her. She also never refilled drinks and didn't seem to "get" the fact that she was supposed to be working. Pizza was mediocre. Not a fan of the dry and chewy crust, though. We ordered some type of Supreme style pizza, the only topping that had any flavor was the artichoke. Weird. The Cheesy bread was good, but then again, it's pretty darn hard to mess up cheesy bread. As a hangout, the place gets 3.5 stars for seeing shows and chilling with friends In Benson. Lots of community performances go on here. Beer selection is also pretty decent, if your drink ever comes. Overall there are much better places to eat in Benson, like Today Cafe across the street. If you want pizza for comparable prices, you're much better off heading to Zio's.

Out of vegan cheese. such a bummer. Otherwise the cheeseless pizza was pretty good. I enjoy the vibe there. Lots of local art available. They have an awesome space for rent.

Came here after a long day of Sunday fun day and needed a late night bite, so we decided to stop at the Pizza Shoppe. It was pretty empty when arriving due to the restaurant closing within the hour. We all ordered a pumpkin beer that was pretty good. For the food, we ordered cheese sticks which were served with a marinara sauce. It was good, typical cheesy bread. For the pizza, we ordered the sausage pie. It was pretty good, just lacked the usual sauce that I like. For a quick late bite for pizza, this is a place I would stop by again when in Omaha.

Give me a decent coupon and I'll try a place for sure. That's what brought me to the Pizza Shoppe in funky downtown Benson. This is definitely a neighborhood pizza parlor. Friendly, original recipes, homemade thin crust, awesome appetizers, sandwiches, etc. Screaming kids, old people, and every age between, all were here tonight and all are welcome. Will I come back? Not sure, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommended it.

I REALLY enjoy this Benson gem. Great selection of pizzas from the standard to the original. Nice wait staff both times I went an the ingredients have been fresh and well proportioned. I would DEFINITELY suggest a visit if you enjoy thin crust and then take a stab at what intrigues you. Then go back and try something else!!! Good location, fun atmosphere and GREAT for people watching the Benson area.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Be sure to try the mozzarella sticks. They actually have pretty decently priced wines as well and good specials. The bomb is a great pizza choice.

Finally made it here last night for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought the pizza was really good and I enjoyed the crisp thin crust. We had the Butcher Block (kind of a meat lovers). I don't know if I would go to Benson just to eat there but if I was in the area I would definitely go there again. Decent pizza and cold beer. Service could have been a little better but this place strikes me as the kind of place where you have to kind of fend for yourself.

  • Todd G.

I like the unique thin crust and LOVE the salad with the "Pink Stuff" dressing. The atmosphere is laid back and the lighting is low. There's usually some cool art displayed that's for sale and they often times have special events and live music in the adjoining PS Collective. Order the cheese bread and try the bisque (I believe it's called) sauce. It's a combination of red sauce and an alfredo. Very good.

  • Charise A.

Been here a feww times and liked the pizza, but anything else is not vegetarian friendly. When requesting salad without customary pepperoni and bacon, got lettuce and cheese only. No pastas are vegetarian, and when I asked if I could sub broccoli for chicken on the fettucine, they said they would check but just delivered plain fettucine Alfredo. However they do have Coke, so that's a plus!

  • Erin F.

Subpar food, supbar service, supbar experience. Our food was underwhelming, my vegetarian husband was surprised by a few stray chunks of sausage covered by cheese on his vegetarian pizza, and extra toppings I had ordered were omitted from my pizza. If I hadn't noticed we would have still been charged for them. Then to cap it all off there were problems with our check. It was just a blah experience for bland, unexciting pizza. We will not be back.

  • Cameron K.

Honestly I've got to say I wasn't impressed. In fact, I was downright disappointed. Me and my amigos were hungry and gave this place a shot because we were in the area. It took around 30 minutes for us to get a couple medium sized pizzas that costed quite a bit. The crust was very bland and dry and the pizza was just overall nothing to talk about. I like how you can add a lot of toppings but that really makes you reach deeper into your wallet. The seating in the restaurant was very strange and the fans were blasting us the entire time. I just don't think it's anything to get excited about. I won't be back. Not approved.

  • Jared B.

Overall, mediocre pizza and poor service. I've tried the Pizza Shoppe twice - once eating in and once getting carryout. The pizza is probably best described as thin and crispy. Even judging it in that category, it's average at best. However, on the Omaha scale of pizza, where there really isn't good pizza to be found, it's not too bad. The service while eating in was okay, but my experience with takeout turned me against ever going back. They got my order wrong and then wanted me to buy an additional pizza to fix the order. So I had to spend more money and wait even longer to get my food. No apologies whatsoever. I was graciously offered a water to drink while I waited. I would gladly hit any of the chain places over the Pizza Shoppe.
