I was very impressed by Pita Pit's employees, environment, and food. I actually never intended to go their for lunch. I wanted to eat at Smashburger, but it was completely full! The line was out the door and all the tables were full. So, I decided to go next door and try Pita Pit. I thought it would be fun trying something new. Going in I had no expectations really. To my pleasant surprise the environment was very clean and the employees were friendly, professional, and helpful. The process of getting your pita was similar to subway and Qdoba. The best thing about Pita Pit was that they had a grill and prepared your meat right in front of you, so you know it's fresh. While my meat was grilling, an employee had my pita and asked what I would like on it. They had a wide variety of toppings/fillings for the pita. The pita was DELICIOUS! Very healthy, filling, and a great size for only $4.30. I will most definitely pay them another visit!

Sllooooowwwwwww.... they have one speed. It doesn't matter if there are 2 or 3 in line or backed up to the register, they go thru the motions. They must hate their jobs cuz not one of the workers smiled or was friendly. They weren't rude or disrespectful at all, just going thru motions they obviously could less about. The food was ok. Chicken tastes like it was on the grill too long, it was dry. I really liked the pita & the variety of ingredients to add. I paid over $10 for the combo... I ate the chips while waiting for my pita cuz it took so long. Definitely over priced for food that was eh & service that was depressing. Will not visit again.

I always love it here. The BEST fast food anywhere. Kind of the fast food corporate version of Amsterdam in the Dundee neighborhood. I ordered the veggie falafel with craisins. Yummy!

A solid 3 stars. I've driven by Pita Pit many times, and it always seems to be busy. Nearly two months after the former manager lied about a robbery and blah blah blah, I figured it was "safe" to finally try my luck at lunch. I had gone online before my visit to use the nutrition calculator (handy!) so I knew I wanted a Dagwood on wheat with cucumbers, green peppers, tomatoes, onions, and spinach. I was impressed with the service on the line (the cashier seemed like she was getting eerily close to needing a smoke break), and the cook on the flat top somehow kept 7 or 8 orders straight. I was not impressed with the quality of the "prime rib" on the Dagwood. Of course, I wasn't expecting actual prime rib, but it was chewy and inedible. I wouldn't give that to my dog! The turkey and ham were fine. Next time I'll stick with a ham, turkey, or maybe the chicken souvlaki. The toppings were very fresh, crunchy, and they hit the spot. They don't charge extra for hummus, feta, or other toppings that would be upcharged at other sandwich chains, so I will be back to try a different pita combination soon.

Good healthy yet tasty options. Pick whatever you like from all the fixins. They do not hesitate to pile on the toppings. Hardly follow the menu. Just go with the flow. Kids menus options are decent as well. I just wish the pita bread was grilled at the end. Nevertheless the taste was good.

Pita pit was a first lunchtime stop for me. The restaurant is different from subway and offers a variety of different combinations for your pita. I tried the falafel with my pita and lots of fresh veggies. They also have hummus and over 10 sauces. I enjoyed the food a lot and I hope you enjoy your pita too. There needs to be a pep in the employees step. After 10 mins they forgot to put down our falafel mixture on the grill. I will occasionally stop in to see if there has been improvement.

This is a great choice if you are looking for a place that has a good variety and lower calories. That is as long as you want it wrapped in pita. Prices are moderate but they have quite a few premium toppings included for free such as artichokes, hummus, avocado etc. The chicken souvlaki is my favorite but I have enjoyed the gyro and falafel as well. Give it a try, you will enjoy it.

A solid 3 stars. I had a falafel pita. The sandwich was good, the falafel was just ok. Staff was friendly and the place was clean.

I had the prime rib pita and the meat was chopped into very tiny pieces. I would have preferred slightly larger chunks of meat. However the meat was very tender and well-seasoned. And an unexpected choice at a place called pita pit. The veggies weren't as fresh as I would have liked...the shredded lettuce looked a bit old and the tomatoes (I know they aren't in season) were off-color. Not much to report service-wise, perfunctory cashier and food prep worker. I took my pita to go, and didn't get a side or drink because I wanted to stay on budget ;) A little more expensive than the typical grab and go lunch.

I used to go to a PP back in my research assistant days in North Carolina, so I was familiar with the chain. This particular one was pretty clean and well-lit. I saw the staff regularly clearing off the tables while I was there. Went in on a weekend for lunch. It's in a suburban shopping center kind of place. When I was there, there was a mix of families and older folks, which is why I was a little surprised at how loud the music was in there. Don't get me wrong, I love 1980s stadium rock (Journey!) as much as the next person, but I almost couldn't hear what the people at the counter said. Anyway, I ordered a falafel combo (chips and a drink). It think it's really great that the calorie info is on the board, and they seem to have a mix of foods to appeal to different tastes (including breakfast). Essentially, it feels a bit like a Subway or something. You order your base, they cook it, and then you walk around and tell someone the toppings you want. I wouldn't say that the falafel could hold up to those made at more traditional Middle Eastern place, but it was okay. I'll try to go back and try something else and update. At about $10 for the combo, it's going to be a bit pricier than Subway or a similar place, but it ingredients seemed fresh enough, and it feels healthier than some of the other places in that strip mall. Bonus: they have that fun Coke machine.

Great service. A little slow, so not ideal for lunch breaks. Amazingly delicious food. Staff made great suggestions.

Great fresh choice. Good service wonderful taste. I love pitas and have them every time I'm in Europe although this is very different it's got great flavors and exactly customized for what I wanted. I will be back.

This is a new restaurant in West Omaha. The concept is good - like Subway on a pita - but I think the execution falls short. The food is tasty, and I like the variety. But the prices are too high (over $10 for a sandwich comparable to a 6" sub with chips and a drink) and the scene behind the counter is best described as "chaotic". If the combo was $6 or $7, I would be back tomorrow because I could chalk up the service issues to being newly-opened. As it stands, I don't think I'll be choosing this restaurant again.

Like subway, only it isn't terrible. The veggies are super fresh. If you're looking for something light and healthy go here and load up on the veggies. Great for vegans and vegetarians too. The vegetarian "meats" (eg falafel)aren't aren't anything to write home about, but you can load up on guacamole, hummus, artichoke hearts, etc too make a super filling meal.

I ordered a Cesar pita but when I walk over to add my ingredients they have no idea what I ordered and I'm left to my own decisions so my pita had a little bit of everything in it. While I was waiting I'm watch how inefficient they are cooking on the grill and trying to transfer the ingredients to the counter with nothing but the spatula, offer dropping half the meat on the ground. Then they wrap your pita in paper but year half of it off and trow it away. This is done for every pita. Such a waste of materials and needless full of the trash before the people even get their food. Oh and the soda machine was broken.

Pita Pit is a low-carb fast-food joint out of Canada. The crew was disorganized, so I had to repeat my order several times to different people as they assembled my pita. The result was a compact burrito-shaped object, full of vaguely Greek flavors. I lived near a Pita Pit for several years in Colorado, and I must say that the Omaha store is quite different: the prices are higher than I remember, the decor is more chain/commercial, and the portions are smaller. Most Pita Pits (that I've seen) cater to college students; this one is aiming more for the upscale West Omaha crowd. They don't provide WiFi. I'm not sure that I'll return soon or often, but this place is definitely a refreshing change from the typical fast-food scene. Update: I just visited a Pita Pit in Colorado Springs, and the pita there was about 3 times the size of what I got in Omaha. The meat was tastier, and the ingredients were assembled more effectively. Prices were identical at the two locations.

Food was decent, but at a price of over $10 for a meal....way to expensive for a "sandwich". Not spending that much when I can go to Little King for less.

The food is good and a nice alternative to Panera or Qdoba. The atmosphere is horrible though. Freezing cold restaurant. Few are staying to eat and those that are have to leave their coat on and try to eat quickly before their food turns cold. Miserable dining experience.

I was excited to try Pita Pit and gave it a shot despite the other less than exciting reviews. I think overall it was ok to good. I had the falafel pita and chicken noodle soup. I was set on the falafel before I even got here. I was excited about a quick "sandwich" place having a falafel option. The falafal was good - you got 4 round falafal patties in your pita. You can pick your spreads, toppings and sauces. I do have to say that I feel like they skimp a lot on these - I asked for Humus, lettuce, tomato and tziki sauce and all the toppings were almost barley noticeable. I didn't even notice or taste the humus! Maybe i could have asked for more not sure but they really shouldn't skimp on these things. The price of the pita is more than your average quick lunch / sandwich stop so I feel the value wasn't quite there as the toppings were lacking. Close to $10 for pita, side and drink. It was a cold and rainy day and soup was calling my name - they had chicken noodle one of my favorites. My recommendation is skip it. It's not homemade and the noodles were very over cooked. Nothing special here. It's nice to have a different option for lunch / something quick and semi-healthy which will make me return however the price will prevent Pita Pit from being a regular stop for me.

Not a bad stop, but there are a few kinks to work out. I was a big fan of pita pit when I visited Oregon, so I was very excited to see Omaha was getting its very own one. One pita is a good size for lunch or dinner, not an abundance of food but a nice portion. The vegetarian options are good, but there are also plenty of meat choices. I like the option of using a pita or having it as a salad, and I think this place is great if you are out and need a bite but want it to be healthier. The staff is still learning their way around the grill and the different stations, but given time I bet they can streamline the process.

I stopped at the pita pit on a whim. The interior was nice and the staff were very friendly. But also extremely dis-organized. The ingredients I watched them put into the "pita" had clearly been frozen in the cooler more than once. The onions and bell peppers were translucent & mushy, and tasted consistent with freezer burn. The portion size was that I would serve to a small child, as a grown man I wanted more than something that fits snugly into the palm of my hand. Top that off with a price tag of $10.70, and I found myself immediately regretting my decision to stop at the pita pit. So, if you like small portions of low quality ingredients that cost an arm and a leg... Go ahead and stop at the pita pit. For the rest of you, your money is better spent elsewhere.

Food was pretty good. Large portions and good service make this a place I will be going back to. $10 for a combo so a little more pricey than similar places.

A good, easy to eat, quick meal option- the falafel pita is great, and I dig that you have the option to have hummus or avocado as one of your (free) add ons.

Yesterday (March 26) my wife and I decided to try out the Pita Pit in Omaha - I've been to other locations with decent results so I thought I'd try this one out. Disaster struck when the person who was putting together our Pitas SNEEZED repeatedly while doing so, pausing for a few seconds after each sneeze as if to see if someone would react and tell him to just stop. Between sneezes was constant sniffling. Yes, he turned around while sneezing. No, I don't think that was enough to prevent the potential spread of disease on an entire shift. This employee would have only had to touch any part of his face or body with his gloves before literally ploughing his hands through every single bowl of ingredients to adequately infect a huge number of customers yesterday. For god's sake if this kid is the only sick person working WHY wasn't he working the cash register? All the while the manager of the store was eating with a friend/business associate at one of the tables. Absolutely disgusting. My Gyro was bland, my wife's "local" was very good, but neither of us were able to enjoy it for obvious reasons. It was all I could do to not puke while running to the Peach Wave next door for some frozen yogurt so I could get the taste out of my mouth. Yeah, one star for the aptly named Pita Pit.

This place is EXPENSIVE! 20 dollars for 2 pitas, 2 drinks, and 2 cookies? Wowsa. This location is much more expensive than any other location I've been to. The staff seemed very disorganized, but they seemed nice enough. The menu that we picked up a few days before eating there claimed that they had fresh fruit. The girl who took our order seemed bewildered that I inquired about fruit. Every location that I've ever been to has had fruit, so why this one doesn't is beyond me. I ended up getting a cookie, which kind of defeats the purpose of this place as a healthy alternative. Honestly, the food was okay. And if the price wasn't so high I'd definitely be inclined to eat here again, but for the price, it's just not worth it. Also, the veggies looked very old, so I didn't get them in my pita. Not sure if this is a thing or just because we came in at the end of the day. I'd skip this place.

Has potential, but staff poorly trained and food lacked flavor. Think of it as a bland pita burrito.

I normally love gyros but did not care for the gyros here. The meat resembled sliced lunchmeat and was heated on the flat top before it was placed in the spongy pita. The optional toppings were fresh and tasty. If I do return, I would order something different.
