We love eating here when we are in the Old Market. Parking is not always easy but if you know Omaha you know the tricks. Food is always fresh. When it's hot I order the Chicken salad. Lettuce is always crisp. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. The night crew rocks!! The place is always clean and so are the restrooms. One of our favorites!

Quick casual with a focus on service. I wish there was more to it, but really it's a great concept. When I ask for a veggie philly, they ask if I would like the grill cleaned and I reply "yes". they kind of make a big deal by shouting "Cleaning Grill!" and they then proceed to clean the entire surface of the grill, change utensils, new gloves and start my food. It's like they are preparing to birth my sandwich and they do it every time and with a smile. It isn't that hard to cook mushrooms and peppers, melt some cheese on them and put it in a bun. I enjoy this slightly overpriced sandwich quite a bit. The best part? No capers!

Decent food for a casual fast food ish type place. Think Chipotle where you order in line, pay, and find a seat. The philly cheesesteak is actually a big portion of food and pretty good. I ordered a chicken salad with sautéed onions, mushrooms, green peppers, and jalapeños. Throw all that on top of a salad and you really can't go wrong.

The customer service here is great! Kyle, you're awesome. For a fast food location, the food is really quite impressive. There are a lot of options. Going back to the great customer service, the employees make sure that you know your options and what they have to make your choice even better. I'm from the nearby the home of the cheesesteak (we don't call them a "philly"). If you want to try one of the most authentic Philadelphia-style cheesesteaks, ask for steak with onions and the queso they use for nachos. It's called a wiz wit in Philly.

If Jesus Christ and Ghandi owned a flat top grill joint, even they would be hard pressed to beat a fireball steak gunner at 0230 (fireball means cooked in a bit of jalapeño juice and gunner is double meat...because diets start in the morning). Never has a perfectly toasted bun married a heaping pile of cheesy melted meat so eloquently and with such fierce passion. As soon as I hit the Old Market bars, immedietly my attention is fixed upon the sly mistress drinking vodka soda's in the corner. At first I feel shy, as though she is judging my begger's eyes... then I take another sip of my now tasteless drink and work across the bar toward her. My friends are a hushed blur in the corner. They know what's going on, they've seen this before. The sultry temptress gazing my way lifts her dress a little higher and gives me the eyes that only a true Philadelphia girl can give. I brush off the Mexican girl giving me the naughty eyes next door (that's an eat the worm joke, people) and finally make my approach, dipping the minx into a long tender kiss before I ask her name. I don't eat pepperjax... I make love to it.

A very solid 3 star experience...luckily the madhouse of the Old Market wasn't happening upon my visit...ordered a chicken burrito with rice, pepper, refried beans and jalapenos...had them put spicy ranch and spicy salsa on and it turned out to be pretty damn good...everything was tasty and spicy just as I like it...price was fairly reasonable for what I got and the people working seemed to be in good spirits...I'll come back at some point...

Should you base a review on only buzzed after bar food experiences? Well if not, ignore me. Out drinking downtown and it's time to head back, but you are soooo hungry? I know, no taco hell in plain sight. Calm down because the cool calm cooks at PepperJax hook you up for a late night meal. True they only stick to cheese steaks and fires past a certain hour, but dang in my buzzed opinion as I've waited here before for nourishment, the line moves pretty fast in the early morning hours.

Same as every other Pepperjax I've been to. Has a little better atmosphere, obviously, since it's in the Old Market. Still had great phillies, they loaded mine up much more than I've had at other locations. Still a slightly expensive place for lunch but it's worth it when you're craving a philly.

I don't often give 5 stars. Fresh made fast food especially. The Philly is as good as I've had anywhere in the country. They also have mushroom gravy for your fries! Prices are very good for the amount and QUALITY of food. I have found my new favorite in downtown Omaha.

Went to Pepperjax during a weekday evening; it was my first time at this chain. I was having a meatless day, so I decided to try to veggie nachos and some fries. I ordered it to go, but from what I could tell, the place was pretty clean, albeit empty. First of all, everyone there was super friendly and nice. And, when I ordered the veggie nachos, the guy at the fryer even asked me about the fact that someone just made a meat meal on it, if I wanted him to clean it off. I eat meat, so I don't care, but I think that was awesome that he was so considerate. For the nachos, they cook up the ingredients on the grill and then walk it over to another topping bar to add things. I liked my nachos. I love cheese, but don't want to the chips to be so drowned in it that they're soggy. Between the beans and the veggies, there was a good mix here. I would probably get fewer jalepenos next time; they give you a ton of 'em. The fries were good--nice and hot off the fryer. Altogether, I think it was about nine bucks, so a little more than a fast food dinner, but it was super filling. Would definitely try the meat options at another point.

A great quick bite to eat. Always consistent which is important. Steak Phillies, Chicken salads and epic fries! So bad but sooo good! The staff are always really friendly and they're open late so they're perfect for a something to eat after you've been round the bars in the Old Market :)

Fair food for a fair price. Reminds me of what I could get in a mall (minus the extensive selection of sauces and dressings on the side). Seems great for a late night snack but the food doesn't strike me as fairly remarkable. Kudos to the staff though for working so quickly - service was swift, just like fast food is supposed to be.

This place has great phillys and wraps for around $7 (fries and drink extra). I have been there several times, and had quick service, even during the Friday lunch rush. It works kind of like Subway, except the meat and cheese is already picked for you. You do have the options of what veggies, dressings, and sauces go on it though. I love food with a little kick to it and this place definitely offers that if your interested. You have the option to "fireball" your meat when they are grilling it. This pretty much involves adding some Jalapeno juice to the steak while its grilling. I do that, and then get the spicy ranch added along with all my regular veggies. The sauces are self serve, and I always go for the bold steak sauce as it has a great flavor and adds a tiny kick as well. All their food items are like $6.49 or so before tax. The fries are great, and an extra $2 I think, I usually don't get them, but they go really well with the self serve sauces. I always opt for the free glass of water, but they do have beers and soft drinks available. The service is great! I have been there like 4 times, and every single time, the manager comes by and asks how our food was and thanks us for visiting, its a nice touch. During the lunch rush, don't expect conversation, it's pretty loud when ordering, but man, they move people through the line quick! Overall, it is tasty food at a pretty reasonable price (not cheap, but not bad) and makes a pretty great lunch or dinner for those visiting or working around old market.

My sandwich was super salty! Is that normal?

Great idea, lousy execution. Reminds me of the old "Great Steak" restaurants found in mall food courts.

I have been to Pepperjax before and was not thrilled but I thought I would give it another shot. This time it worked out much better. I had a rice bowl with chicken, black beans and all the fixings. It was pretty darn good for six bucks. The only real fault with it is that they use this creepy processed formed piece of mystery chicken.

This is legit place to get Philly cheese steak. When you walk in, the menus are on the wall. When you get to counter, you first order what kind of meat you want, then they cook it right there on a grill. When the sandwich is finally done you are in food heaven. These Philly's are very good. You can ask for extra meat, most sandwich toppings. You can order fries. The place is very large and well maintained. A must stop for anyone who likes Philly's.

The Food here is great. Nice clean building and friendly staff. Orders are taken promptly and prepared quickly. Only complaint I have is price. For what you get it's a little much. A full meal is about $13 while the same at subway (nearest competitor) would be just over $8. Perhaps I am too price sensitive, but I will eat here only occasionally and stick with cheaper alternatives most days.
