Mr. Toad is.....interesting. Stopped in to wait for a friend, but ended up leaving before staying there too long. Interesting crowd. Mix of older people and a higher-class looking crowd. Definitely a beautiful old pub setting. They had a nice selection of whiskeys and other liqours for mixed drinks. I sat a table with two seats and a reading lamp...Made it feel pretty cozy with my Guinness, which I will mention was $5.25.....I've never paid that much for a Guinness anywhere. I might be tempted to come back with a friend and see if they have anything not ridiculously priced.

We stopped by to have a drink and some conversation with friends on Saturday night. This is exactly the place for that. It was quiet for a bar on a Saturday night, and the place was busy. Our waitress was really patient with us; we took a while to decide what we wanted to drink. They have a decent selection of wine, beer, and hot drinks. The place looks like an old church turned into a bar. It's got the stained glass, pews for seats, and tables from reclaimed wood. I loved the vibe of the place and staff was friendly. It's a place I'd return to.

I had a totally terrible experience here tonight. I was on the patio tonight having a great time with friends when I noticed a guy behind me acting strange with two women. The server asked him to leave and then proceeded to give me a hard time. She asked if I had a problem and that she controlled the patio. And if I didn't like it, I could leave. I was then asked to leave. As a retired military member and a member of the Chamber of Commerce, I do not intend to go back. I will visit her manager on Monday and file a complaint. Plenty of other fine establishments to go to without a hassle. Visit the others.

I love this bar. Luigi and Co. jazz on Sunday nights is awesome. The bartenders make good drinks. The cocktail waitresses are cute and usually quick with your drink order. The outside patio is great to sit and enjoy a drink in when crazy Omaha weather permits. The drinks are a little expensive, but I still enjoy coming. Would definitely recommend. Also, during the summer, the hot dog guy usually sets up shop right to the corner of Mr. Toad's, so if you feel brave enough to eat street meat, this bar is awfully convenient. Seriously though, it has a refined but welcoming ambiance and generally cool patrons. This is a good place to drink in Omaha and one of my favorite bars. Oh! And free Orsi's pizza on Fridays until they run out! You can't beat that.

It was a wild ride. Not too busy, but then again I was there early. Looks like a pub, but no pub food, i.e., fish & chips. Beer selection average. Nice place to hang and chill.

Average spot to grab a drink. The main highlight is being able to sit outside and have a beer during the summer. Some nights they have live music which might bring some more energy. Overall this place is a decent spot to grab a drink on a warm summer night

What I enjoy about Mr. Toads is sitting back in the library section and sipping on one of their warm alcoholic hot cocoas . Although the inside is great laid back feel, it can get a bit loud on the weekends. The bar maids are helpful but get busy. It is the best place to people watch. You can watch people inside or outside of the bar. In the library the loung-ish area or on the patio. It has a great location in Old Market. No meals offered and the drinks are priced decently, but not the best selection of liquors, wines or even beer for that matter. So if that's what your looking for you may want to choose a different location for the evening. Come to Mr. Toads for the people and the atmosphere.

A cool jazz bar with cooler clientele. Loved the stained glass windows and auction barn style furniture. My gin and tonic was fine, but don't know how you can screw that up. Apologies to all who might have been at Mr. Toad last night...I was at a noisy table during a wonderful set and a half wishing I was at another table where they were actually listening to the music. Don't hate me, I promise to choose my companions more carefully next time. Or muzzle them :)

What a great patio area. So many seats in a small space, right on the corner of the two major streets in the Old Market. We had great service and tasty drinks. This is a perfect spot for having cocktails outside. Inside looked nice too, but I did not venture in.

My favorite bar in Omaha, the atmosphere is enjoyable and the drinks are nice and strong. Order a SPECIAL COFFEE, it's the BEST!!!

Coolest venue I found while visiting. This is the oldest bar in Old Market. While it looks really old, it was opened in 1970, so I am older. This place has an outstanding patio, but it was jammed on a Friday night. We went inside and were pleasantly surprised to find plenty of seats. It includes two rooms. One is the Library and has lots of stacked books and a few intimate seating areas good for small groups. We sat in the bar room. Seating is a hodge podge of old wooden church pews and wooden tables and chairs. Stained glass windows. Lots of vintagey decor. I am pretty sure I would be grossed out to view this place in broad daylight, as it doesn't look so clean. That's ok though, as I had bottled beer, so no worries on this visit. The servers appear to be dressed like. . .librarians?? Please tell me it's intentional. Bartenders were more than a little rude to the servers. They were also much too young to be credible tenders in a place like this. I told my BF that this was exactly how I would picture a real British pub (my dream is to do a pub crawl across England someday). Beer selection was just all right. I will return someday just for the cool tmosphere. Also an older crowd.

Interesting historic decor. Terrible to average bar wine. Decent service. No food. Dead.

A nice bar with a patio on the main strip of downtown omaha. A little small inside if you are coming with a group of friends. Good local beers on tap. The patio is very large and is the highlight of this place. You can people watch or come here with a large group of friends and not have too worry about space issues. This place is nothing special. It reminds me of a college bar that doesn't need to worry about atmosphere because if its poor clientele.

Mr. Toad i just a little "meh" to me. I've been there a few times while down for work and again while checking out a college hockey game. I do have to say, go there at night because the last time I was there at 3pm on a Saturday you could actually see the sticky nasty floor and never dusted before wall o' books. All in all, they have beer there and that's never a bad thing I guess.

You won't find a better place in town to have a few drinks outside on a warm summer evening. The outdoor patio makes the ideal spot in the Old Market to people watch. For me, the inside tends to get a little cramped so I only drop by when there's a spot outside. Give it a shot!

Ahhhh - Toad's! I used to come here during my college days, and on a recent trip back to the Big O, we were hanging around the Old Market and were going to meet an old friend for a drink. Originally, we'd decided on M's pub, but that place was mobbed at 8 o'clock on a Friday - go figure, huh? So we wandered down the street and saw that Toad's wasn't terribly busy. We grabbed a table in the lie-berry portion of the place and ordered a couple drinks, then passed a pleasant couple of hours catching up and sharing some laughs. It was a good choice - just as I remembered it. Mmmmm - vanilla porter!

When you name a place Mr. Toad's, you create certain expectations about what type of ride patrons will be taking when they enter your establishment. While the crowd that gathers here to drink and socialize is diametrically opposed to wild, it's still an interesting mixture of young, people who think they are young, and people who have given up any notion of pretending to be young anymore. I've also had a hard time figuring out the "best" time to have a drink here. There's truly a happy medium between spending quality time with the bartender one-on-one and re-enacting a Scottish soccer hooligan riot inside a bar, but I have yet to find it here. It's either more dead than the hooker in my closet or so busy you start crafting letters to Santa Claus to bring you drinks because you think Christmas might show up before you get served again.

I always enjoy my time at Mr. Toad. They have a great outdoor patio, where you are served promptly. Inside is nice to enjoy on rainy or winter nights. The bar is always warm and the atmosphere is enjoyable. Great location in the Old Market.

To be honest I can't really recall. I just know they server shots. They serve a lot of them and they are big. Very fun place to rub elbows with the locals.

A perfect laid back, quiet bar in a perfect location. The outdoor seating is perfect for people watching, and the inside has that dark cozy pub feeling, complete with a library. Sometimes they have live jazz going on.

Had a blast here. Nice outdoor patio to have a drink or watch people or think about the candy store across the street. Wish smoking was banned on the patio since the smoke affected my sinuses. #badallergies Can't wait to go back.

Came on a Saturday night and it was semi-busy. We sat outside which was nice. Bartender and server did not know any speciality shots and drinks other than what was on their menu. I would think they were allowed to look it up in a bar tending book or even on their phones. Our server was not personable and had to wait a while between drinks and to get our check.

After talking quietly in a corner booth for a little while, enjoying our ONE drink, after the rain chased us off the patio we decided to call it a night and paid our tab. I had about 2 sips left of my special coffee when my table mate put his hands down on the table as if to stand up. The wobbly table tipped towards us dumping the coffee and water on us. No big deal. Until the rudest bartender (glasses, buzzed hair) came over and threw a towel down and said loudly, "too much to drink...I'll let you decide." No, you're just condescending and unhelpful. And your table sucks. But mainly the bartender was the absolute worst.

Love this bar. Frequented here when we lived in the Old Market...brings back good memories. A very cozy place with a gentleman's bar, there aren't many like this around anymore.

A proper old pub with great outdoor seating and fresh beer. The location is great for people watching, spent an entire Saturday night watching wild bachelor parties wiz by. Service was prompt and friendly. The inside of the pub is warm and inviting, you can tell why this has been an Omaha institution for 30 years. I'll be back, keep that Heineken fresh!

This is one of my favorite downtown bars. It doesn't get too crazy at Toad's, though the outdoor patio is oftentimes packed in the summertime. It's a nice spot for a cozy drink in the wintertime.

This place is great! As has been mentioned before, if you have a small group and can find seating the noise level is perfect for some good conversation. Their outdoor beer garden is pretty good and nice to sit in as well. The drinks are priced well and STIFF! One last thing worth mentioning is that you can go here anytime and have no fear of brushing elbows with frat boys or kids. The crowd is nice, attractive, and usually 23+ which is a huge plus.
