While on a recent business trip my wife and I stopped by for pizza and we were not disappointed. They close at 9, but you have to order by 8:30. We were late getting in to Omaha so we got here at 8:27 and found we had 3 minutes to decide on a pizza. Going to try to come earlier next time as that is not enough time. We ordered the cheese bread and it was amazing. Large pieces of bread with plenty of cheese, the bread was soft. Highly recommend, looking forward to coming back and getting this again. We got a half taco and half supreme. The taco was different as the lettuce comes in a bowl and there were no chips or tomatoes. It was OK, probably wouldn't get it again. The Supreme was very good with a sweet sauce and plenty of toppings. The crust is a thin crust and is excellent. The staff was friendly, but we felt rushed because they close at 9. Would like to come earlier next time to experience the great food here.

There will never be enough reasons to move from California to Omaha, but if I were keeping track, Manga Italiana would be one. I ordered out, but did not order ahead. It was @ 4:30 on a Wednesday. I ordered Cheese Bread and a small Primo Garlic. There were no orders ahead of me and my meal was ready fast. I didn't time them, but it was fast! The person who took my order was very sweet. Though I didn't dine in, I give the staff high praise. And now the food. There was so much!!! I'm used to tiny pieces of garlic bread. Each piece of Cheese Bread was large. I want to say they were about 7- 8 inches long. They were packed perfectly in the box. It was lined with aluminum foil and the three pieces were carefully wrapped in a thin, white paper that kept each piece in perfect condition. Oh... And it was delicious! Each piece covered end to end with cheese and nicely spiced. I'm looking forward to leftovers tomorrow! And the pizza... Wow! Very simple with fresh garlic, olive oil, Asiago and Romano cheese and "special spices". Those spices had just the tiniest of kick, the cheese was perfectly blended and the crust was the perfect texture - not too soft, not too crunchy... It was just right. You know how sometimes you leave all the pizza edges behind because without toppings it's just not good? Not here. I actually did leave some crust behind, but finished it later! The small is six pieces. I could only eat three. This particular small pizza and cheese bread could easily feed two. It was SO good. I'm coming back to Omaha at least one more time. I'm definitely coming back. I wish I lived close enough to try each one of their specialty pizzas because they absolutely do pizza right!

I've had Mangia's pizza several times and it is some of the best pizza in Omaha. Their prices are pretty standard and reasonable for the quality of the food. Their Chicken Alfredo Pizza is my favorite, but even basic toppings are good. My husband and I got carry out on a Friday night (I think this is usually the only practical option since, last I heard, they have like two tables and both are outside). I wasn't really in the mood for pizza, so in addition to the hamburger pizza my husband ordered, we also got an order of the Fettuccine Alfredo and a side salad with Italian dressing. He tried to order two Parmesan rolls but accidentally ordered a dozen and didn't correct them when he picked up the order, so we also got 12 Parmesan rolls. As mentioned above, the pizza is always good. This was my first time trying their pasta. The container is pretty small considering it is $12, but it was good. The sauce is cheesy, creamy, and full of flavor. The salad was decent sized and fresh. The dressing was homemade but didn't have a ton of flavor. It was alright, though. The Parmesan rolls were served with marinara for dipping and were good. My husband and our friends who we shared them with (since we had 12 of them) loved them. Mangia is far from centrally located, which is probably the biggest downside. This would definitely be our regular pizza place if it were closer. As it is, we still make the drive occasionally because it is very good.

This place is probably the best Italian restaurant in Omaha. The lasagna is great. The Alfredo sauce on anything they serve is a winner. Don't overlook the soups instead of salad. The broccoli cheese soup is great. The four pepper soup is also fantastic. If you go during the week you will have to order at the counter . No wait staff except on weekends. I would eat there four nights per week if I could.

Amazing and awesome you must try the spinach artichoke dip best I ever had. Everything else was amazing will be back for sure and since I just built a house two blocks away I can't wait to go back

I've eaten here several times, and the food is always great. I really like the cheesy bread. The service is fast and friendly and the dining room is nice and clean. They have some great lunch specials as well. If you like Italian food, you need to check it out!

Pretty good. Chicken Alfredo pizza is fantastic. It's a bit of a drive for me since I live In west o but I find myself making this drive every once in awhile.

Ate here for a late lunch on a Wednesday in October. It's a small quaint restaurant. Not much dine-in capacity, so be warned. Most customers seem to be take-out customers, but their dining room, while small, is nice clean and comfortable. They also do a very steady catering business (weddings and whatnot) and from what I gathered that is the main chunk of their revenue. An employee told us they started out in a food truck and the business has just grown and grown. I ordered the Italian Sausage Sandwich with a side of their homemade Pasta Salad. I also ordered a slice of Pepperoni Pizza to try. My sandwich was very good. The sausage was tasty and the sauce and peppers piled on it were very good. One of the best Italian Sausage Sandwiches I've had in a restaurant ever. Homemade pasta salad was awesome. Mostly because it was oil-based and not mayonnaise-based like most. I am a proud mayonnaise-hater and was very pleased that their pasta salad contained none and was very good. Pizza was also very good. It's close to NY Style, but with a thicker crust. My two dining companions ordered the Meat Lasagna and the Meatball Sandwich and they both enjoyed them immensely as well as the Sour Cream Potato Soup and Chicken & Wild Rice Soup that preceded them. This is easily some of the best Italian (or Italian-American for you food elitists) fare available in the Omaha Metro Area. Service is very friendly. You order at the counter and then it is brought to your table. We had a great time bantering with the staff who were good-humored and quick to sass us back. A very enjoyable dining experience. This place is crazy out of the way for me as I spend most of my time in Sarpy County. However, it is definitely worth the drive into North Central Omaha to eat at.

While my wife and I were moving cross country from Seattle, we stopped one night in Omaha. We Yelped a pizza place and agreed on this establishment. It was awesome enough for us to search for it 3 months later and post this review! Normally I list pros and cons, but the only con here was the wait. I think it was about 20 mins? There was seating available though so this didn't bother us too much. The food was amazing! I had a carne pizza and my wife had salad spaghetti and meatballs with Sicilian sauce. Top notch all of it. Thanks for making our trip through Omaha enjoyable!

This my second time eating here. It was just as good as the first time. Very happy with the food. Everything is delicious.

Once again my fellow Yelpers are dead on! I love this place. Based on prior reviews and wanted something off the beaten chain path and wanting homemade Italian, I seeked out Mangia's. Keep in mind, this place is small, eight total tables. We arrived at 7 PM on Saturday night and the place was packed, then again it doesn't take much to pack. The wait list was 8 deep and after adding our name to it and looking over the menu decided on carry-out. Didn't take long and we were on our way home with some sweet smelling goodness. We ended up with an order of Chicken Alfredo Fettuccine, Fettuccine w/ Sugo and Meatballs, a pizza with bacon and pepperoni, some parmesan rolls and a chocolate cannoli. First off, the CFA was so rich and creamy, I thought I was sitting in Rome eating. You can tell it's made from scratch and the chicken was grilled nicely and it all tasted wonderful. Great portion. The Fettuccine with Sugo and Meatballs didn't disappoint either. I'm assuming Sugo means sugar in Italian or Sicilian because this sauce is sweet and robust. Maybe too sweet? Only for my wife but not for me. I'm not sure about their pasta being homemade in that it was uniform in size but it was very good. I didn't have the pizza but my daughter and her friend did and she simply stated, "This is the best pizza I have ever had". That pretty much says it all. The parmesan rolls were very warm and fresh tasting with just enough parmesan and garlic to make them hit the spot. And for $6.50 a dozen, it's a steal. The only, and only disappointment was the cannoli. I wish I had ordered the vanilla and not the chocolate. It was okay but there was a very strong almond extract flavor to it, and I'm not an almond extract fan. Oh well, I can live with that being my only disappointment. Mangia is our family's new go to restaurant in Omaha. It is small and quaint so get there early or order take out. They do have a drive up window for those take out orders so you can avoid the crowd inside. Get there and get there now!

We had an errand to run near Irvington so we were looking for a new place to try, and I'm so happy we discovered Mangia! We went around 5:00, so there was only one other couple in the restaurant, but by 6:00 the place was full. Of course, it fills easily because there is only 1 2-top, maybe 6-7 4-tops and a table that seats 6 or more. So even though the place is small, it doesn't feel cramped, and the atmosphere is very comfortable and welcoming. We ordered at the counter, and the brought our food to us. The staff was very friendly and efficient, and the food was great. One of us tried pasta with the Sugo and Meatballs sauce, and it was wonderful, though the sauce is definitely sweet with just a little spice for good measure. If you don't like sweet sauces, don't choose this. I got the Chicken Diane, which was chunks of chicken baked with bowtie pasta, ham, and peas in an Alfredo sauce. It was delicious, though very rich. It made great leftovers! We also tried the Spinach Artichoke dip, and we quickly saw why Yelp reviewers love it so much. Again, it was very thick and hearty, and served with delicious bread triangles. We don't live nearby, but this would definitely be worth the trip to revisit!

Tiny restaurant putting out some good Italian! Located in a very small space in Irvington, I recently got take out for the family (call ahead and pick up via their drive through). Pick up was friendly and quick. I had the baked ravioli in marinara. It was cooked well, stayed hot until I got home, and I have to say I devoured it! One item to note is that thier sauces are sweet. I love a sweet red sauce, so I was in heaven. My wife on the other hand thought it was way too sweet and thus didn't enjoy hers nearly as much. For me though, I am already thinking about going back for some more, it was good!

Cleanliness 4 Service 4 Food Quality 4 Likelihood 5 1-5 (5 Best!) 4.3 Our first visit, and it certainly will not be the last! What wonderful time we had. We waited about 10 minutes for a table. We were offered a beverage if we had to wait, how nice. Our server quickly checked in with us and took our beverage and appetizer order. Our drinks and food arrived quickly. Good job. Our meals arrived and they were hot and fresh, thank you. The food is remarkable. The red sauce is VERY tasty. I had Chicken Alfredo, it was delicious. We NEVER had to ask for beverages to be re-filled or plates to be taken away. The restrooms are VERY clean and well stocked. The employees were helping each other and there was a "good feeling" that everyone liked what they were doing. ONLY one :( for me. They do not offer fresh brewed iced tea, it is from bottles. ICKY! And the water tasted just fine! Please give it a try, you will love it.

Shrimp Special pizza and spinach artichoke dip!!!!!! The spinach artichoke dip is one of the best things I've had, and I crave it all the time. The pizza is always great here. Wednesday's are the days to come here, order the chicken and wild rice soup and a order of spinach artichoke dip and you have a great dinner for a great price!!

I recently returned to Mangia after a long hiatus because of poor customer service. I was glad that I returned because the taste of their pizza helped me remember the great blend of spices in their sauce. I ordered the lunch special, slice, salad, and drink for the reasonable price of $6.07. The size of the slice was more than generous and kept me filled for a long time. My only two critiques are that the salad dressing was tart and under seasoned and that they should offer one unique variety of pizza per day (our only choices were pepperoni, supreme, or beef. In the competitive pizza market in Omaha, they should branch out and make a white pizza, garden veggie pizza, etc. The reasonable price and fast, friendly service this visit will remind me to return more than once every 3 years.

A small quaint Italian place. Not very big, clean, seats around 30. The pizza we had was delicious. The staff is very nice. I am definitely going to come back and tell my friends about this place. Too bad it's far from my house, other wise I would come on a regular bases. If you are ever out this way I would highly recommend it.

Solid Italian meal. Located a little off the beaten path but I think I almost prefer that so it isn't as busy to eat in. Ordered cheese tortellini with Alfredo and cheese tortellini with marinara. Big portions. Fresh taste, hot and bubbly cheese covered the dishes. They serve coke products so that is always a plus. Minestrone and Broccoli Cheese soup were good. Rolls are soft and have a garlic topping. Very good! I will definitely come again.

I had lunch here a few weeks ago and found out that they do not take reservations, nor do they have a wait staff on weekdays. You place your order up front and they deliver it to your table. I saw they had Fat Tire (I guess the most common micro found in Omaha these days  ) and noticed a 312 in their fridge. I asked what it was, and she said, "oh, a beer." again  I guess their dining room is an add on, from reading previous posts. I heard it was small, but didn't realize how small it was. 3 booths (can fit 4 since there were 4 firemen in the booth next to us) and 4 or 5 tables, so almost room for 3 dozen people. I had the Chicken Diane, and it was wonderful, all that I could expect from this place, almost sinfully buttery. My friend had the Shrimp Scampi (she ordered it with spaghetti noodles, you can chose your noodles in their dishes) but got fettuccini, and thought there were too few shrimp in the dish, but what dish in Omaha has more than average amount of shrimp. I came back a few days ago because on Thurdays they have their best soup, 4 Pepper Italian Sausage soup. It was great, however I wish the sausage itself was a little more seasoned, the soup was great, being just spicy enough to carry it out. This is a place I will return to over and over again!

Well I was stuck in a Hotel with no car. I use Yelp all the time. It states delivery. after calling and asked to hold two consecutive time for six minutes. I was then told they dont have delivery but they do carryout. Problem not solved. I'm not sure if I will bother with it again. I guess I'll try somewhere else. Tina

I love this place!!! I have tried spinach and artichoke dip at many restaurants over the years but this is the best I've found. I think the garlic bread us what sends it over the top. I've tried many of their entrees and they are to die for. I had the chicken fettuccine with pesto and it's very good. Pesto seemed homemade. Also had the minestrone soup and it is the best. I can't say anything more than this is the best Italian in Omaha.

  • Seth D.

This place is my favorite Italian in town. I like the sweet heat pizza and the baked tortellini. O, and don't forget the cannoli!

  • Rayray J.

You guys, PLEASE... start the delivery service again~~~ My husband ordered a large size of Carne last night -- it was DELICIOUS. (It was so large, so rich and so filling and we couldn't finish it which turned out to be a good night snack for us just now.) Honestly, I was surprised by the 3 big slices of garlic bread that came with the pizza, I had to devour them to be sure that my husband couldn't get so much of the bread... LOL. It's worth driving back and forth for 30 mins to get your pizza.

    (4)
  • Sarina P.

This place is very small and quaint. I've been here for lunch and dinner and liked both experiences. The lemon cake for dessert was amazing but, not worth all that money. The wait staff is friendly and like family... Which can lead them to spend more time on a table of "regulars" than yours. It's pizza and pasta and lasagna is worth the money, though! And I would recommend this to anybody. One other qualm I have is that they aren't open on Sundays which is the day my family and I always go out to eat... But, I respect that they give their family and employees a day off!

    (4)
  • Marcus S.

Man this place is good. Been here twice. Best cheesy bread I've ever had. The pizza is excellent as well with the flavorful red sauce and buffalo chicken pizza both being highlights. I wish they'd open a place downtown with more seating so I could come here more

    (5)
  • Drew S.

My experience went from great to perfect while I was there. Aside from everything being made in house, everything had layers of flavor. I was given a free slice of pizza for no reason at all. And the tortellini Alfredo was everything you want in a good Alfredo. Accented with fresh basil, it had a strong Asiago flavor and the Parmesan crusted topping added a level of crunch that was superb. This was my fist time ever dining here and I will be back very soon!

  • Carolyn T.

This little place is super quant. Not great for large parties unless you rent the whole small dinning room. However the food is great. I had the cheese tortellini, it was pretty big. The sauce is super rich and heavy however so if your not Into that back away. Overall great place for dinner. (Or lunch I guess)

Stopped by again and tried the super buffalo specialty pizza based upon other Yelp review. Had two friends with me. Tasty but not really my thing. I think the cream cheese kinda throws me. Other two friends tried it and loved it. Only three stars based on my food choice but Mangia puts out quality food. Give it a shot if in Irvington area.

+ Mangia's has been regularly been hauling in recognition and awards for several years - and with good reason. The food is cooked wonderfully and its essence will seep deeply into your bones, causing cravings and yearnings that demand attention. - Dining

This was my first time here and it was delicious! I had pepperoni and cream cheese pizza. The crust, ratio of pep to cream cheese and cheese on top was excellent. Too many times have I gone for pizza in the Omaha area and have been disappointed. This is our new pizza joint and I can't wait to try more in the future!

  • Angela K.

We had a family birthday dinner here today. Our son is on a mission to try as many pizza joints as he can. This was next on the list. Mangia is way North from our home in Midtown. It's a nice easy drive but the location is one that will require a little forethought and planning. The restaurant seems to do a brisk carry out business. As for a place to sit and have a leisure dinner, this isn't the place. If you do stay, don't bring a crowd with you. The dining room has literally less than 10 tables and booths total. The tables are round high tops that seat 4. If you want to push tables together to accommodate more people, your result isn't going to be great. Mangia does have a patio if you don't mind sitting outside. Still, there are only 7 tables there. And, it's outside. Why is this important? Well, it isn't really unless you come to Mangia with more than 4 people on a rainy (or snowy) day with hopes of eating in the restaurant. If any of these attributes are mission critical for you, I'm sorry, but you are screwed. Our family started with the cheese bread as an appetizer. The order came with three large pieces of garlic bread with a wonderful combination of cheese melted on top. Everything was is excellent proportion-bread to butter to garlic to cheese to other seasonings. We liked the cheese bread so much, we ordered a second. The menu has a list of house-special pizza combinations. There is a note on the menu that says "No Substitutions". The guys ordered a large (16 inch) Italian sausage-pepper pizza. When my son asked if they could add pepperoni to it, the server said they could. Maybe an addition isn't a substitution. When it arrived, it looked great. They have three crust options; thin, medium, think. We had the medium crust. The best way to describe it is as medium think pizza. The best comparison I can think of is about the same density as a hand-tossed pizza from Pizza Hut. The crust was tasty and in good proportion to the sauce and toppings. My daughter ordered the mini pizza (7 inches) with just pepperoni. It was everything the guys' pizza was but with just pepperoni. She ate all of the pizza herself and liked it well enough. The crust seemed thinner than the guys' larger pizza. Both pizzas had ample ingredients-big pieces of sausage, pepperoni, peppers and onions. Plenty of cheese. The sauce on the pizza has pieces of real tomato which suggests a homemade sauce. I have no idea if it was house-made. If it was, we couldn't tell. The sauce was noticeably sweet. No one at table complained about it being too sweet. Our three men finished all of the large pizza except for three pieces. One of them named the pizza as "best so far" in the pizza mission. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo. It arrived baked and had this weird (and ugly) crumb topping. The topping tasted like granulated garlic and Parmesan. The topping just didn't add anything good to the dish in terms of taste or appearance. If I had known, I wouldn't have ordered it. The Alfredo sauce is not a traditional Alfredo. It was thick, almost too think to even be a sauce. They added scallions and some other seasonings. Again, these additions just didn't do anything to make the dish more pleasing. Alfredo is an universal sauce. It's not something that lends itself to very much variation. And this version illustrates that point perfectly. The additional flavors and textures made this dish something. That something is neither Alfredo nor tasty. If you are less of an Alfredo purist, try it. If you fall into the fussier category, you will probably be happier with something else. The food arrived hot but it didn't stay that way long on the patio with a constant evening breeze. The portions were generous and everyone (except me) left full. The restaurant and patio were clean. Our server was ok. When we asked for extra napkins or a straw or anything, it took awhile for her to get back to us. That's hard to understand the lag time considering there are less than 20 tables in the entire place and we saw at least that many servers and runners. I don't have any hard evidence but maybe she was too busy add unnecessary ingredients to what should be traditional recipes. Overall, it was fine. But, given its location, its cramped dining room, goofball interpretations of traditional dishes and its slow pace of service, I don't think it's worth a trip back. There simply are better pizza and pasta spots closer to home. .

The best Minastroni Soup I have ever had as long as you get a batch that has had plenty of simmer time, and the marinated chicken salad...please, it's awesome! My kids will eat here and not whine about anything served to them. (which is a miracle in itself) Overall, best Italian food in Omaha hands down.

Very very good. A lot of vegetarian options and very very fresh. I love their pineapple and jalapeno pizza. Their marinara sauce is sooo good and I tried their pastas and it was super....

Lasagna is wayyyy too salty and sweet. If they cut back on it, then 4 stars. Average roll and iceberg lettuce salad.

This is strictly a review of the pizza. If you're looking for New York style pizza, this isn't it. Go to Zio's instead. The place is nice, and the people are friendly. Maybe try the pasta.

The Super Buffalo pizza still blows me away. How they make it so darn tasty, I don't know. Also, their pesto pasta is realllllly tasty. I've only had catered options, but we get pretty excited at work when Mangia is being brought in.

Every time I venture to Omaha, I attempt to make a trip to Mangia's. My favorite dish is the chicken alfredo pizza. It hits the spot every time. The service at this establishment is great. I like the home town feeling that I receive every time I go there. I would recommend this establishment to anyone. Check out the other items they have on the menu.

The pizza is pretty good here, but the pasta is where it's at. An order of garlic bread and the Sugo with meatballs or the marinara and Italian sausage makes for an excellent meal. Just don't get the salad here, the dressing is good but the iceberg lettuce kills it, have the soup instead, their minestrone is delicious.

    (5)
  • Lauren R.

Their meatballs are to die for and definitely worth a side order with your pizza. Chicken pesto pizza is a winner, and so is the rossa (cheese). It's a family owned, and they are always friendly, it has some real charm when you walk in. The location is kind of out there by itself, but it's worth the drive. It's a pick up place as far as I know, so call ahead before you grab your keys unless you don't mind waiting about 15-20 min. Update: Last time I ate here they expanded the building so they now have "dine in" area, looked like around 10 tables or so?

Freshest pizza you will find in Omaha. First visit here and the food was fantastic! Very small dining room but we didn't have to wait too long to get seated. Enjoyed the pizza, cheese bread, and salad. Next time I hope to try the pasta.

Hate to rain on everybody's parade, but here comes the rain again. I'm also gonna say my wife and older son experienced the place a bit differently than I did; this is a first visit, and at this point I'm stuck rating what I had. Ok, let's start with the four-pepper soup. Not bad. Didn't taste as fresh-ingredient-homemade as they claim, had that out-of-a-can taste, but this was the best thing I tasted. The roll, while it may have been scratch made, was pretty dull. A bit dry, a poorly developed crumb texture, and not much good bread flavor. Dress it however you like, if the bread isn't good, the bread isn't good. Tasted like grocery store bakery bread. And then there's the lasagna. I've had pasta sauces from many sources in many places (although, I readily admit, nowhere outside the western hemisphere), and never tasted anything that tasted this sugary sweet. Not even close. It was fighting with the Coke I was drinking it was so sweet. Musta been a quarter cup of sugar in that little to-go pan. Trying hard to taste past the sugar, all I could find underneath was a pretty average lasagna. What a disappointment. I gave my wife a bite, though, and she liked it. Some people are into candied lasagna, I guess. The Elder Boy had a super buffalo chicken pizza. I tried a bite, trying to get an idea what a more traditional pizza would taste like, but those flavors go together so poorly for me I couldn't get a read. I love buffalo wings, I love pizza, but buffalo chicken pizza is like a hamburger with chocolate sauce. I'll have to go back and try the pizza everyone seems to like so much. I didn't get a read on my wife's meatball sandwich either, because she scarfed it too fast. Ah, well. And to be fair, if my wife were writing this review, there'd be at least another star. But I have to review it based on my personal experience. And so far, I've had better lasagna at Carrabba's (and I only had that once, 'cuz it wasn't so impressive either).

Manga Italiana catered our party and we couldn't be happier. The food was delicious and just what we were hoping for. We ordered trays of lasagna, pasta Prima vera, and fettuccine chicken Alfredo (bow tie pasta). Our guests were very pleased (especially for the fettuccine) and the food was delivered right on time and hot. We had plenty of leftovers because I didn't trust the serving count on the menu. I think they're right on target when they say "about 32 servings" per try, but my miscalculation was worth it because the food was great the next day at our brunch. Rich, heavy pasta isn't everyone's choice for a party, but if that's what you crave then this place delivers!

WOW! All I can say is whenever you have a chance to eat here, then do so! At lunch they have pizza by the slice. Take the wife for a nice baked dish and wine! The outside dining area is great on those nice nights! I promise you will be happy with them! If not, tell them and I know they will make it right! Never ever had we had a bad anything from here!

    1. Great food. 2. Great staff. Called in a to go order on a busy evening. After telling the wife the wait time, learned we didnt have time. Called back to cancel order, but worker offered to get manager (who offered to put a hurry on). They did this without me complaining just trying to politely cancel.

Amazing! Hands down the best alfredo I have ever tasted, although it might be too rich for some. The bruschetta is also very good.

Original review with photos can be found here: omahapizzareview.com/201… Mangia Italiana occupies a small building in the quiet community of Irvington, Nebraska. Having won many local awards for their pizza, they have quite a reputation and a loyal following. Last Saturday evening, we met friends for beer and pizza on their outdoor patio. The restaurant is very small with only 6 or so tables tightly packed inside. A much more spacious patio is available for dining, if weather permits. Every time we've been there, the dining room has been full and there is usually bit of a line to order. You order right at the front counter, grab your drinks and take a number to your table. Tonight we were trying many different types of pizza: a pepperoni, a veggie, a Pizza Bianco, a meatball special, and a hamburger. In addition to that, we ordered some parmesan rolls and a few cold beers. Peroni of course! The crusts at Mangia are on the thicker side measuring nearly 3/8" thick. Certainly much thicker than is our preference and very similar to the crust at Mama's Pizza. The crust also reminded me of Valentino's Pizza: filling. They use a dough docker to limit bubbles while cooking, and it would appear by the bottom of the crust that they cook their pies in a conveyor oven. The sauce at Mangia was extremely flavorful with a nice balance of sweet tomatoes, garlic and herbs. Delicious! All of the pies shared the same thick, dense, doughy base, well seasoned sauce, and herbs both above and below the generous toppings. Even with our dislike of the crust, all of the pizzas were quite tasty with quality toppings. The pepperoni pizza and the hamburger pizza were both good. Standard, but good. The meatball pizza is described on their menu page as "Our famous meatballs with onions on our pizza sauce with garlic butter crust." Yum and yum. The meatball chunks have their own little herbal magic baked right in. Everything about this pizza was absolutely fantastic. Our other pizza contained half of the Pizza Bianco which features "Alfredo sauce with whole milk mozzarella, asiago, romano parmesean & provolone." This pizza was simple and unique. The sauce was fantastic, and the blend of cheeses on top were again delicious. If you like cheese pizza, you'll love this. You can also get this with grilled chicken! The veggie pizza had an abundance of fresh toppings, such as tomato, artichoke hearts (The Pizza Wife loves the tang!), red onion, fresh mushrooms and minimal black olives. Combined with the fresh sauce and melty cheese, The Wife thought it was a symphony of flavor that has been unmatched in our pizza tasting thus far. Overall we really enjoyed our night out on the patio with our friends, cold beer and some outstanding pizza. The flavorful and bountiful toppings almost made us forget about the thick and doughy crust. Almost. I've said it before and I'll say it again, we are clearly in the minority. Omaha really likes a thicker crust. We, on the other hand, enjoy the thinner and crispier crusts. To each their own. Our job is to eat and report, and eat and report we will! The good: fantastically delicious toppings The bad: thick, dense and very filling crust. Oven: conveyor (just a guess as I couldn't peek in to the kitchen) Crust: thick, doughy, dense, filling Sauce: sweet and very flavorful Cheese: on top off all other toppings Review by The Omaha Pizza Review Crew OmahaPizzaReview.com Facebook.com/PizzaReview… Twitter.com/PizzaReviewer

Amazing! So much delicious food for not a lot of money! I had leftovers for days. I wish I lived closer so I could come back, but if I'm ever in Nebraska again, Mangia Italiana will be one of the first places I go.

I actually think it's a 3 1/2 star restaurant. I had the taco pizza and loved the topping selection. My hubby had the pepperoni and he liked it too. However the pizza was better after we baked the crust more to make it a bit crispier. The crust was a little chewy for our liking.

After reading all of the great reviews, we decided to order from here last night. Amazing, amazing, amazing. The most beautiful, aesthetically pleasing pizza I have ever had the great fortune of eating. It tasted as good as it looked and that is saying A LOT!! First time of many we will be visiting this place!!

My family has been there several more times since my last review. I have tried several of their soups. Some are a little spicy but still too good to stop enjoying it! We like the spinach artichoke dip just wish it was served with chips instead of bread. You can't go wrong with the chicken primavera or the shrimp with garlic sauce. I just wish they would move to a location with more room. Even in the odd hours when you think no one will be there, it is almost full.

I love this place! It's not a formal sit down, so if you know that going into it, you won't be disappointed. You order at a counter, and your food is brought to you. It's small, but the food is excellent. I would usually never order lasagna, but this place has some killer lasagna...so GOOD!

This is a small cozy restaurant. I have been going here for 4 years, and have always been more than satisfied with my food. They have some of the best pizza that I have had. Not thick or thin, just right. They recently added dining space to their carry out and delivery service.

Best pizza in Omaha by far. Start with the meatball chunks as an appetizer. The sauce is sweet with an incredibly savory meatball chunk. Highly recommend the chicken Alfredo, BLT, and meatball pizzas. Although, I have never had a bad pizza here, so go for your tastes and you won't be disappointed!!

Ever since my husband and I discovered this place, we have gone weekly to satisfy our Italian cravings. There are so many things I love about it... HUGE portions! For $10, you can get a spaghetti with meatballs dish, salad and garlic roll. I take half of my food home, so it's like the meal that keeps on giving. Not being served. When you just want to relax and enjoy your food, sometimes it's nice to not be peppered with check ups and your bill. Lastly, the staff is so nice. The owner comes out to talk to customers, and when they ran out of a sauce I ordered, he actually came up front to let me know. How can you not love that?!

Had this place cater for my office's holiday party. Food was ready to go on time and was very hot and fresh. Pricing was extremely reasonable and all 30+ people who had it universally raved about! I will say that the staff who helped me order the catering was extremely knowledgeable about the portion sizes and got me the exact amount of food I needed and the right mix for all the different dietary restrictions I had to cater to. If you order catering from them, don't go with the recommended sizes in the catering menu, talk to the staff, they will tell you how much you really need to order. They saved me about $20 by doing so.

Great pizza. Service is great too. I wish the dining area is bigger, not a place you would bring more than 2 people.

I'll admit it right up front: At Food & Spirit Magazine's Largest Pizza Review ever this past year, I voted for Mangia over La Casa. I think it was because I'd never heard of this place before and they really amazed me. Of course I love La Casa, and Zio's wasn't in the running... but Mangia's pizza gives both of my favorites a run for their money. It's hidden for sure, and there isn't much seating (one table inside and picnic benches outside), but the food is great. This week I picked up some takeout and tried the Pesto, the Bianco and a good 'ol fashioned pepperoni. I don't know if I'll be able to make Mangia a regular thing due to the locale, but it's worth a bit of a drive out of your way. The Bianco was especially good and I'd highly recommend it. Mmm, cheesy.

This restaurant has a very unique way of making pizza and it was awesome!! On a meat pizza very flavorful hamburger is spread on the pizza like meaty juicy peanut butter. Yum!! The prices are very reasonable, the patio space is really nice and because the road ot is on, there is not a lot of traffic, so it is not noisy. I was confused on ordering, so I will help you out here. Because it looks like a formal restaurant. I was waiting for a hostess, none appeard. The rule is go to the counter, place your order, they give you your soft drink and a number. Find your table, but on the way there pick up your silverware and napkins. They have definitely replaced Zio's as my face pizza place.

We normally get the baked pasta dishes. They are amazing. So it's hard to get something different each time we order. I've had the pizza twice. It's rich and flavorful and two slices is normally all I can eat at once. I've also had the cannoli's, chocolate and vanilla. They're awesome.

I've driven by this place a few times in the past and never stopped. The primary reason was because they had no (or very little) indoor seating and I lived in La Vista. After moving to Bennington six months ago, we decided to give it a try. I was amazed and just how good it was. The sauce was zesty but tasted excellent. It wasn't overly cheesey and had just the right amount of toppings (pepperoni and green peppers in this case). Since then, we've eaten here several times and I was only disappointed once. It may have been an off night but the crust wasn't as crispy and tasted as if it the pizza was sitting around a while. And while I'm not a big fan of their pasta, it is some of the best pizza you'll find anywhere in Omaha.

I am a huge pizza lover and up until I had this pizza last night, Orsi's was my favorite. Now hands down it's Mangia! Crust is herby, light, and awesome. I ate the veggie lovers... Fantastic! It will be a craving from now on.

Absolutely A-MAZING food. We love their Carne Pizza. Great food for a great price. They are mostly a carry-out and delivery place, but they do have a couple tables and I know they are expanding.

Love Mangias! We've had it catered in to work a few times and it's a hit every time! We get several sorts of pasta and some stuffed shells (have never seen the menu, so I can't be specific) and they were fantastic! When it came around to schedule catering, everybody agreed on Mangias. Can't wait to actually stop in and explore!

Mangia Italiana is a fairly new italian take-out place near 90th and Sorenson Pkway in NW Omaha. From what I understand they've been doing catering for a while now, before starting the take-out business as well. They do have a picnic table outside but it's not good for the winter, so you might as well take your food home because it travels very well. We've had pizza, lasagna, pasta with "sugo" sauce, rolls and cannoli from Mangia. The pizza is a little unique, I love it, but my wife is only so-so on it. My parents both liked it too. Lots of seasonings and spices on there, and the meat (beef or sausage) is finely ground and seasoned just right. My wife absolutely loved the lasagna, it stood up really well, and had nice toppings/fillings of beef, sausage, and cheese/sauce. The pasta with sugo was very good as well. Sugo was a very sweet tomato sauce. The garlic parmesan rolls are homemade and very tasty, and the cannoli had real ricotta with lots of other ground little pieces of nuts/chocolate/seasonings that made it just fantastic. Plus, again, it was real ricotta and not pudding. I don't know if it's worth driving all the way from Millard for, but it's definitely some of the best food in the NW Omaha area, so give it a try sometime, you won't be disappointed.

Had the super buffalo, and loved it. It is a very rich pizza...no one could eat more than two pieces. Loved the cheese bread, but was disapointed there was no sauce with it. Overall, an impressive meal.

I begin by saying I originate from New York and am biased by pizza. There is nothing like new york style pizza. I read everyone's review on yelp and went here hoping to find something that reminded me of home. I tried the cheese pizza which was very average. The sauce is definitely tangy with flavor but the dough and cheese generic. Again, I state I am biased as I am from new york and use that as a standard.

I was looking at yelp for a suggestion for a great Italian food restaurant b/c Omaha eateries are hit & miss for Italian food. Decided to try this restaurant due to the yelp ratings. It is awesome, authentic, full of flavor, good portions, reasonable prices and staff is very attentive and friendly. There are only 2 tables inside, so this is basically a takeout - we ate inside. It was mentioned there is seating outside, but I did not see it and wasn't really looking for it since it was 100 degrees out. Can't wait to try many items on the menu in the future!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
