The best of the best. For our last week in Omaha, my coworkers and I finally made it out to Mahogany Prime. We were not disappointed. This has to have been the best steak I have ever had. It eclipsed Jack Binion's. We were pleasantly surprised that we didn't have to make reservations given this place's reputation. We sat in a booth in the corner and were very comfortable The interior is intimate and dark, with a very appropriate Frank Sinatra soundtrack in the background. The wait staff was very attentive, and explained everything on the menu in detail. I was initially put off by the laminated cardboard menu. I ended up getting the ribeye medium rare. It was cooked to perfection. There's no other way to describe it. As for the sides, we also got the potatoes au gratin, the corn, and the mac and cheese. All three were amazing and complemented the steaks very well. We also got a bottle of Robert Mondavi, which made the meal even better. For dessert, we went with the key lime pie and the creme brulee cheescake, both amazing. What a way to top off Omaha!

Mahogany Prime may have been the best meal I've ever had. My entire team ordered the bone in filet. Additionally as accompaniments we got the Mac and cheese, potatoes au gratin, and corn (I think). The Mac and cheese and potatoes obviously we're really good since they stuck out in my head. The steak was amazing. Cutting into it the inside was medium rare (as ordered), however the outside was extremely hot (apparently they use some special french ovens). This allowed for the entire steak to have the juiciest and most delicious taste along with the contrast between the hot outer temperature and interior cool red center. For desert we split the cheese cake and cream brûlée. Both were good as well. The service was outstanding. As soon as we turned there was constantly another server willing to help us with whatever we needed. Jack binions used to be my #1 meal. However mahogany prime has taken that spot over.

Great bone in filet. Service is great. Cost is a bit high. Other than that it's great place to go on special occasions.

Went there for a business dinner Thursday. The filet was dry and chewy it was pink but not favorable. The greasy side dishes are great but bad for you. The cake was great. To embarrassing to send it back, but the owners should know about this.

I gave this place 5 stars because it really is probably "as good as it gets." I'm not excited about it because the prices are astronomical. But the good news is, you get what you pay for. No regrets. I got the large cut ribeye along with the onion soup, some seared ahi, steak fries, and I split the mac and cheese side with my wife. It's a huge pile of food. If you eat your meal, you won't leave hungry. Actually if you eat your meal, you might not be able to leave the restaurant at all. The steak was excellent. One of the best (probably the best) I've ever had. As good as the steak was, the soup was better. That has to be one of the best bowls of French onion soup you can get, period. If I was a frenchman, and I ate Mahogany's french onion soup, I'd have to sigh, and say, "zut. At least we still have crepes." I'd go back for the soup alone. I'll probably get a side of steak, though.

Being a meat-eater and visitor to Omaha, my boyfriend and I wanted to have an Omaha steak dinner from the best and so we took to yelp to narrow down our options and figure out where we should go. We were so happy we picked Mahogany!! Absolutely everything was divine!! I had a wedge salad, filet mignon medium rare, and a jumbo baked potato and being so hot out I wanted a white wine (though I can't recall the brand). My boyfriend had an old fashioned cocktail, the lobster-argot (think escragot but made from lobster), potatoes au gratin, and the filet mignon medium rare, too. We both were in food-heaven with our meals! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning next time I visit Omaha! Additionally, I need to give them credit for allowing us to dine on their patio with our well-behaved dog. It's normally set up with couches for lounging next to an enormous and dazzling fireplace, but they set up a table for us and told us we were welcome as long as other patrons were ok with our dog. Thank goodness the nicest couple and their granddaughter were the only other patrons on the patio and they were totally fine with our dog. In fact, they commented on how well-behaved he was, better than some children in fact! What a wonderful Omaha experience we will forever cherish and I will most definitely recommend them to anyone I know going to Nebraska! And I look forward to a future visit!

Still one of my favorite restaurants worldwide. The crab legs are TO DIE. I am dying thinking about them. I think one of the reasons I choose to drive cross country on occasion is so we can stop in here for dinner.

If you're staying downtown don't waste your time with the local steak joints. Take an Uber , this place will exceed your expectations. Chopped salad tasty, NY strip succulent, sautéed spinach unreal. Great atmosphere, beautiful bar, and manager that looks the part of anyone out of the Sopranos!

The coveted 5 star review. I've been to 4 or 5 steak houses in Omaha as part of my travels. This one was the best by a healthy margin. The onion soup was excellent. The filet (8oz) was excellent. The sides were excellent (fresh shucked corn, lobster mac & cheese, jumbo baked potato). The dessert (Something Chocolate was the name) was excellent. Water glasses were never empty. Service was timely and not over bearing. Everyone, including some hard to please folks, were very impressed. We will be back the next time were in Omaha.

I had dinner here with a large group while visiting Omaha on business. After hearing some rave reviews comparing Mahogany with the likes of Ruth Chris and Shanahan's in Denver, I was excited to give it a try. The interior of the restaurant is decorated in classic "steak house" style--dark inside with a lot of wood (let me guess-mahogany?). We were seated in a private dining area which was very nice. Overall it was a great dinner, albeit crazy expensive. We started with several of their seafood platters, which included huge shrimp (I know, an oxymoron, but they were massive!), fried calamari, a crab spread with toast points, crab cakes, and smoked salmon. All were really good. Next I had their crab and lobster bisque. This was the only disappointment of the evening. While there was a fair amount of meat in the bowl, the bisque itself was more like a cheese soup--very thick and cheesy--which totally overwhelmed the flavor of the crab and lobster. I think of bisques as thinner cream-based soups that highlight the flavors of the meat. Next I ordered one of their evening special cuts, which was an absolutely awesome bone-in buffalo ribeye. It was cooked to perfection at 900 degrees, was really flavorful, and it nearly killed me trying to finish it. We also ordered a number of sides for the table, including asparagus, whipped potatoes, mac 'n cheese, carrots and mushrooms. All were really tasty although to be honest I didn't eat a lot of them as I was attempting to ingest what seemed like an entire buffalo. :-) For dessert I tried the key lime pie, which is served in a pastry round with a graham cracker crust. It was good but not fabulous, as the crust was too thick and the filling wasn't tart enough. I always enjoy the tartness of the key limes which offsets the sweetness of the rest of the dish. Still pretty darn good but kind of missed the mark. Overall, if you're looking for an awesome steak dinner and money is no object, Mahogany is your place!

I'm in Omaha every other week for business and have been to all of the top 10 steakhouses according to Yelp in Omaha. With my previous statement in mind, I can say that Mahogany Prime is the best steak in the area. It is expensive compared to competitors in the area, but the money is well worth the end meal. The chefs cook the beef to perfection and only season with salt and pepper, which shows great confidence that your putting a quality product on the table. The ambience is upscale and classy for the area and if your looking to go for a nice meal with colleagues or a date then I'd recommend coming here. The wine list is extensive on both white and red wines and their martinis are delicious. The one downside I can think of is that their seafood isn't great, but if you're looking for a good steak then this is your place.

Took a group of 6 at 6pm on a Wednesday. Beer was cold, steak was awesome. Got the filet, asparagus, mushrooms, carrots, wedge salad, scallop starter. Service was excellent, even for a couple kids who on were treated with respect as customers. The server took the time to explain the menus to the kids as much as the adults. Top notch place all the way around. Will go back. Bill was a little steep, but not too bad considering the quality and experience. Not an every day place, but excellent for that special occasion.

We came the weekend of Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholders meeting so it was packed on a Saturday night. I called at 8pm and was able to get a reservation for 8:30 pm. The restaurant had a nice dimly lit ambiance. My dad ordered the 12oz bone in filet ($59) and my husband got the prime rib ($46). Both were very tender and juicy. But to me, despite the great texture, the flavor was just meh. Just normal. Nothing super tasty. They only season it with black pepper and something else I can't remember. It was a great one time experience but I wouldn't go again. They cannot justify the ridiculous prices! The menu is a la carte, so the small $100++++ steaks come with no sides at all. A side is about $8 minimum... Even for a baked potato. Ridiculous!!!! They should include sides with the ridiculously priced steaks! Anyway glad I got a taste of one of Omahas best steakhouses, but never again!

Needed someplace for my wife to wear a smokin' hot dress she hd just bought, so I thought "fancy dinner, perfect." Dark and intimate atmosphere, lots of dark wood and low lighting. Restrooms had cloth towels/washcloths for hand drying which I had never seen before. A nice gas fire pit type thing right by the front door, which in the other side looked like a patio. Onto the food. Wife and I both ordered 8oz filets, medium. Hers came out overdone, and mine was perfect medium. They asked us to cut our steaks and looked at them with a flashlight. She didn't want to say anything so she said it was perfect, but then I switched with her thinking, "I'll eat it, no big deal." First bite was eh, Sullivan's is better." And then on the second bite, it was too dry to eat, so I did end up sending it back, because if you're paying $40+ for a steak, you want it to be great. The replacement took about 15 minutes and was buttery smooth. So glad I sent it back. The manager came out and ended up taking it off our bill and giving us a dessert, which way more than made up for it. We had three sides to share, as they are big. Mac and cheese, which could been cheesier, potatoes au gratin, which had a smokey cheese flavor and were excellent, and the glazed carrots. I had three beers, one was $10 and the two Blue Moons were $5 each, which was very reasonable. My wife had two Martina's, $10 each which was less than I was expecting, and a $6 glass of wine, a pink diamond, I think, and the chocolate martini, which her eyes rolled back in her head when she took the first sip, so I take it it was good. She got the Creme Brûlée for dessert which came with some assorted berries. She liked it, but I did not have any as I'm not much for desserts. Bill before tip, but after they took off the steak and dessert was about $160. If the same situation happens to you, anywhere, please remember to tip on the full amount of what the bill would've been, not the discounted amount. The server did the amount of work for the full bill. Edit: autocorrect sniper got me.

Not overwhelmed. Filet tasted "off" like old so sent it back. To their credit it was replaced promptly with a very good filet but c'mon, I've never sent a steak back for a taste issue ever. Gratin potatoes could have used another 30 mins in the oven as they we're a little undercooked. Our server disappeared for the last half of the meal. Just a heads up, the peppercorn sauce is not an au poivre sauce. If you feel compelled to order it, I suggest you taste it before dousing your steak with it. I'm sure this not the norm and will probably give it another shot but....

Fine dining with service to match. We had a dinner party in the private room. The waiters catered to our every need. Top notch service. We ordered everything on the appetizer menu. We enjoyed all the appetizers - you can't go wrong with any order. However, they need more variety with the appetizer menu. We had friends who did not eat seafood and all but one appetizer was seafood. The salads were simple yet extra flavorful. Most of us ordered some kind of steak ranging from $39 to $89 per plate. A few ordered salmon and bass. We ordered everything on the sides menu. The beef is from local grass fed free range cattle. Plates were empty at the end of dinner. They have the best key lime pie! My friends ordered something chocolate, cheesecake and brûlée. Great food, great service and great atmosphere.

Absolutely fantastic. I've done steakhouses including the best of Chicago, Mahogany was every bit their equal if not their better. The decor, ambiance and music are all perfect. Any time I can hear Mel Tormé twice in one sitting is perfect for me. They have a team serving environment but each and every one made me feel like the most important person in the place. Perfect service. I had the prime ribeye and I could have cut it with my fork it's that tender. The salt and pepper never left the table, perfectly seasoned. Quite honestly, probably the best steak I ever had. Do not disgrace this beef with a sauce, it's perfect. Glad I followed the potatoes au gratin recommendations here. Superb and done the right way with a nice cheesy crusty top. Great textures and flavor it paired perfectly. FANTASTIC wine selection. You don't have to break yourself either, I had two glasses of a great Washington blend and finished off the feast with a true Italian moscato that was delicious. Saw some of my favorite wines including a full selection of Duckhorn and a robust selection of cabs. I wasn't expecting a place like this and Mahogany was a great gift to myself after two days of craziness on the project I was here for. Pricey but You owe yourself a meal here, lives up to the great reviews.

Love this place. Their 14oz Bone-In Filet is one of the best steaks you can buy anywhere. Truly superb. I have them mix up some creamy horseradish for me to go with the steak. Steak is always cooked to perfection. I've had both the Trout Dip and the Lobster Cargot. Trout Dip is good, but not great. Lobster Cargot is the same (I think the preparation makes the lobster chewy). Honestly, I'd rather they ditched the Lobster Cargot and got actual escargot. I'll keep trying their appetizers and I'm sure I'll find one I love. Asparagus is very good as are the Au Gratin Potatoes. Sides are designed to share between two or three people. So, keep that in mind when choosing them or you'll end up with way too much food. Service is impeccable. I don't find the staff pretentious at all. Very friendly and attentive. This place is expensive, but if that shocked you then you didn't do your due diligence before dining here, so blame no one but yourself.

Went to this restaurant on a business trip. I was excited because it had great reviews. I ordered the filet mignon. It came out and it was bloody even though I asked for medium well. They took it back and it came back dry. It really wasn't that flavorful. The baked potato had more flavor than the steak. I would say the carrot cake for desert was my favorite.

Had dinner October 4th Tuesday night. First class all around. Jefferson was our server and he was super knowledgeable about his selection and entertaining with his wit. We brought guests from overseas... they were experienced beef buyers and those in restaurant business. It was satisfying to hear our guests compliment us that it was the best steak they ever had in the United States! We ordered Ladera Cabernet with our dinner at I thought the value was reasonable. After the dinner, we were treated to a mini tour of the open kitchen that features 900 degrees salamander oven that sears the steak and seals the flavor. Kitchen crew will cook the thick steaks exactly to your liking and that itself is a super skill. When I visit Omaha, I usually dine near downtown but I think it worth the drive out west to visit Mahogany Prime in the future.

Elizabeth makes the best Lemon Drop in the Midwest. She has given Danielle at Eddie V's (Dallas, TX) some real competition. The fresh corn was my favorite item and the creamed spinach was good as well. Th fillet was tasty, but nothing special. The waitstaff was (is) more than accommodating. I think I have found a place to chill after work. Overall, great atmosphere.

I was celebrating today so when a dear friend suggested to go out, I yelped and found Mahogany. i was even more thrilled when it was just a mile from my place. Mahogany deserves their "best of Omaha" and is truly a dining experience I won't forget soon. the meal start to finish was deeellicious. the staff was very knowledgeable and welcoming. the place is gorgeous. they had the same goblets as I do. white tablecloths and silver for that" I want to live here" feeling. although i wasn't dressed up i was still comfortable. easy to find- good parking. my sparkling water had its own silver ice ( I really hate to call it a bucket" ( and was nestled next to me.. i've eaten in fantastic places and plan to as often as possible but dining experience is what i'd call Mahogany. it made me try to remember all the manners and etiquette my grandma had tried to instill in me, cut the spinach leaves, elbows off table. I had the spinach salad with warm bacon dressing the dressing was served in a tiny silver pitcher and warm was warm. then the filet peppercorn sauce (yum) with a side of au gratin potatoes and dessert was something chocolate. all was served with grace and elegance but the server checked in often to make sure I was happy, i was happy. the manager checked to my level of happiness with my experience as well. very very happy. any happier and you won't be getting me out of here. considering it was far less than i estimated going in and a truly delicious meal canceling out the Kansas City steakhouse meal i treated myself too years back and wondered if i'd lost my mind as i signed the cc slip. this i didn't feel that way at all. go here. go often. i did the reservations thing through their website. i wish i could have went with my grandparents. they would have loved Mahogany Prime. it hopefully will bring happiness and somewhat of a food sleepiness to you like it did me. i also have takehome au gratin potatoes and cake. it truly was a magnificent dining experience. i can't describe it. go see for yourself. now. i want those little silver pitchers. those were fantastic.

This place lives up to the hype. Pricey but worth every penny. The atmosphere is very romantic with low lighting and darker woods. We were sat quickly and our sever showed seconds later. These servers REALLY know their stuff. Our server described everything so well you almost wanted to just nod your head and order one of everything, however my wife and I knew that we had to take it easy so we had room for everything. Even simple water had options, I was blown away! We didn't order an app so we started with salads. We both had the chopped salad which pleasantly had the perfect dressing to salad ratio which is really difficult to do. I have to say the one thing that I was so pleased with, I assume because of his attire, was the manager approached our table and presented my wife with a rose in a vase because it was our anniversary. This was the height of customer service and going above and beyond. I ordered the 14oz ribeye and my wife ordered the 8oz filet mignon. The sides we served family style. We ordered the chive whipped potatoes and the Parmesan breadcrumb topped Mac and cheese. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. My ribeye was hands down the most tender cut of meat I have ever had. The potatoes were smooth and creamy. The Mac n cheese was cheesy, rich and delicious. Neither of us were able to finish our food and had to have it boxes up. I wasn't done though and needed to see the dessert menu. My wife and I both were trying to figure out where to put it but I found the little pocket in my stomach. I decided on cheese cake with brandy marinated fresh fruit. The cheese cake was huge and almost too beautiful to eat...almost. We put most of it down. This is the place to go if you have a special occasion you want to celebrate in style. Even the bathroom doesn't have paper towels or hand dryers they have actual individual towels to dry off. We couldn't have asked for a better place to have our special day. I will highly recommend this place to everyone I know.

OMG! First time ever eating at this restaurant and I must say, the BONE IN FILET is the best flavored and most tender steak we have ever eaten. And don't forget to order the procuitto wrapped asparagus. This restaurant experience should be on EVERYONE'S BUCKET LIST. Dennis and Laura Fisher

Mahogany has made several "Top Steakhouses" lists. It's even been named Top 10 Steakhouses in the US, by a couple of foodie mags. They didn't lie. This is, by far, one of the best steaks I've ever had. And... I've had my share. Starter: Bacon-wrapped scallops. Cooked perfectly, although the sauce on top, lacked flavor. Give them a 7. Salad: Wedge. Great dressing and tons of bleu cheese crumbles. Crisp iceberg. Give it an 8. Sides: Lobster Mac & Cheese. Delicious. Huge chunks of lobster! Gets a 9! Asparagus: Never even tried it. Brought it home. Was too full! :( Looked good, though. Lol Now, the serious s#it... I had the 12oz Filet (Medium) Oscar. The Filet was cooked perfectly, topped with fresh crab meat and asparagus and was as tender a cut as I've had the pleasure of eating. My companion had the 8oz Filet (Medium Well) with half of a 10oz lobster tail. Both were cooked to perfection. Both steaks get a 9. Could've used just a touch less pepper. I didn't try the lobster, but she said it was "delicious and sweet". BOOYAH! All in all...a lifetime "Top 10" meal.

Best place for steak and seafood in Omaha. Wine list is amazing!! Food and service is great. Feels like a Morton's or Ruth Chris in any other metropolitan town.

Food was very good. Got sold on the bone-in filet. Needed more seasoning but you can add salt at the table and it was cooked perfectly. Sides were fantastic. I do have to say that the bone-in filet at Chophouse was a little better.

I have found a piece of heaven and it came to me in the form of a restaurant! My husband took me here for my 25th birthday, and despite walking out of there $350 bucks out of his pocket, I say it was worth it, down to the last bit of creme bruleed cheesecake. So yes, the price is steep but I have not had a steak like that in a VERY long time. Blue! Yes, they make my FAVORITE type of steak! They make it blue! They bring it to your table and make sure its the way you want it to be by cutting it in front of them first. I took one bite and dear lord it melted in my mouth it was SO soft! My husband got rare and his was perfect as well. Kosher salt, fresh cracked black pepper and clarified YES CLARIFIED butter NO OTHER SEASONINGS FOR THESE STEAKS! That's all it takes! We got the dinner for two which has lobster, crab legs, and steak. The sides we got were the wild mushrooms and potato gratin and we started with the lobster escargot. Lobster escargo comes in a little six scoop holder, TIP : dip the bread in the little pockets after you eat the lobster and soak up all that yummy goodness (you will thank me later). The potato gratin was a tad bit salty, but the wild mushrooms were a nice contrast because of the earthiness. Service (because of the price) was impeccable, the waiter asked if we were celebrating anything and once we said it was my birthday (three minutes later) the manager came and graced me with a lovely yellow rose! Very sweet touch! For drinks I had the Pink Lady and the watermelon jolly rancher martini, the Pink Lady was nice, but the watermelon jolly rancher wasn't the best I have had, it lacked the "jolly rancher" of the drink. If that doesn't make sense order it, you will see what I mean. Dessert- Ok, I have a huge sweet tooth so I HAD to have dessert here (despite my hubsters getting me a birthday cake, horrible I know) I had the creme brulee cheese cake while the husband had the vanilla bean creme brulee. The cheese cake creme brulee was yummy but it was just cheesecake sprinkled in sugar and torched. It's like the chef just loves to light things on fire. The creme brulee was not anything special either, it tastes just like any other creme brulee. All In all, delicious and once of my favorite places to eat as far as Nebraska goes.

Amazing steakhouse. Great appetizers - had oysters and scallops and they were both great. The sides were also very good. Enjoyed the asparagus and a great Mac and cheese as another side. Oh yeah... the steak... absolutely excellent. Great meal here, am definite must try.

We visited Mahogany on a Saturday evening. I liked the seating...the way it was set up you felt fairly private in the booths. I ordered the tableside martini. Not sure why they make it sound like a big deal, as the only thing they do is pour it at the table...they don't prepare it tableside. It was very good though. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. He went through the specials for us and brought out some bread that was very good. He asked if it was a special occasion, and when he learned it was our anniversary he brought a rose in a vase to the table. Nice touch. We skipped the appetizers not wanting to ruin our main attraction of steak! We both ordered the ribeyes, and ordered corn and macaroni and cheese for shared sides. The corn was good and the mac and cheese was just okay...a little bland. That really didn't matter, because let me talk about the ribeyes! We didn't get the bone-in...we both got the smaller one. I love ribeyes, and in fact it is hard for me to order a ribeye out because I think I make the best and most tender ribeye at home on my grill. Well I no longer can say I feel that way. This ribeye was perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, and perfectly well marbled with delicious mouth watering fat that melted in your mouth. This made the steak very juicy. My dining partner was in shock that I was so impressed with my steak. I kept eating it even after I was full. This is something I never do, so that says a lot about the steak! For dessert we opted for the chocolate lave cake. It was very good...would have been even better with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream to accompany it. All in all....service was great, steaks fantastic....can't wait for the next special occasion to go back!!

We had dinner for four celebrating my mothers birthday. The entire staff was pleasant and recognized us and the celebration. The server, Jamie, was very knowledgable about the menu and made several recommendations. The beef is all prime from Chicago and all our steaks were cooked to perfection. Timing of the courses were well spaced and not rushed. The house salad was a nice compliment and I thought the sharing of sides is a good idea (generally for two people but a few of them are rich so 3 or more can work for you) The manager is also visible at each table so you feel like you are well attended to. If you're staying in West Omaha and want a good steak, this is a great restaurant to visit.

Classy service from beginning to end. Ordered the 24 oz Bison Rib Eye special and I have to say this was an amazing steak! Atmosphere is very pleasant and the booths give some nice privacy to enjoy your meal. I travel all over the country for business and have eaten at many top notch steak houses and this place is in the top of the list of the best steak of the best steakhouses in the country. Would definitely come back and recommend!

I think I died and went to heaven. Had their lobster cargot and oyster appetizer. Could have stopped there and died a happy death. Best steak and baked potato rolled in sea salt known to man. Can't rave enough!! Won't be able to sleep for a week but so worth it!!!!

I had heard great things about this restaurant and it lived up to everything I had heard. I was there taking customers to dinner. They have us a private room. The service was absolutely first class. The food was phenomenal and everyone in our group had an amazing dinner. I will go back here in my next trip to Omaha.

Could there be a steakhouse in Omaha that could compare favorably with the best that national chains such as Mastro's, Ruth's Chis and Morton's has to offer? No need to fear, Bunky, there is such a place! It is called Mahogany Prime Steakhouse, located in Western Omaha and it delivers a quality experience with beef that is on a par with the best I have had at Mastro's (the current king of US steakhouses, in my book). The service too, was exceptional, from choice of napkin color (black or white) to sweeping the little bread crumbs off the table, this place has it nailed. I started with a chopped salad, followed by the cowboy bone-in ribeye (don''t worry Bentley, I am bringing the bone home for you!), sauteed spinach and a conclusion of Key Lime Pie. Each element was outstanding, and as others have noted, the prices were a good 20 percent under what you pay at the Mastro's of the world. The wine list was a bit shorter than the great steakhouse competitors I mentioned, but it too was priced more competitively than those found at their big city cousins. If you are ever in, near or around Omaha you need to get to Mahogany!

I could go on and on about this one, but I won't. Basically, the steak here bested the top steaks in Los Angeles and cost 30% less. yelp.com/biz_photos/oosH… The rib-eye was fatty throughout, giving the beef a rich texture and mouth feel. I never felt like I had to chew too much for any single bite. The steak didn't have as much crust as I would have liked but it was perfectly medium-rare and very well seasoned. The Caesar salad was a little annoying since they make the end user slice and dice the salad, but they did give me ample anchovies when I asked. yelp.com/biz_photos/oosH… And lastly, the first thing I had was a lovely table-side very dirty martini that hit the spot. yelp.com/biz_photos/oosH… Overall it was one of the best steaks of my life at a random spot in the edge of Omaha. Mastro's could learn something from them.

Great service. They took care if us almost too much. But perfect. The crab I had was great. My husband had the cowboy rib eye steak and loved it. I recommend.

Went there while traveling for work we decided to go out for a nice dinner. This definitely fit the bill. Everything we had was delicious and the service was wonderful and incredibly attentive ! We started with the lobster cargot and had some very good wine. The tomato mozzarella salad was great even in the winter when usually the tomatoes are not good these were very tasty. Everyone had a steak and everyone was very pleased with them. We shared asparagus which is my only complaint. While the flavor was fantastic, the asparagus was a bit woody at some parts. Last we had creme brûlée which was also fantastic. All in all a wonderful meal. I'm glad we didn't follow Warren Buffet to his regular steakhouse.

My five star restuarants are few and in between. I am usually a four-starer person if its someplace where I will regularly go or eat again at. This place is a definite 5. Service - Impeccable. We were seated immediately. Jamie, our server was excellent with the menu and was able to give descriptions on all the items on the menu. Our water and food came at a good pace. I swear I got like 6 water switches during my meal and my drink was always full. Food - We had: Lobstercargo - Lobsters in baked in a garlic lemon buttery sauce topped with cheese in the escargo dish. It was delish. I would say almost too well seasoned with the salt, but it was deliscious Crabcakes - Crabby! Yum Porterhouse Medium Rare - Filet side was SO GOOD, new york had good flavor Australian Lobster Tail was large and tasty with butter Asparagus - you got a large serving with sauce on the side. Corn was buttery and peppered I will be back!!

My co-workers said it's the best steakhouse in Omaha, so I gave it a try. I really liked the atmosphere - nice, cozy, and private. The price is high for what you get. They asked me to cut the steak down in the center to make sure it's cooked to my expectation. I did not want to, but they stood there with flashlights, so I felt obligated to. I did and juice ran down on the plate - which was a shame. Seasoning was fine but the meat itself was not as good - had a little bit of gamey smell to it. Tried au gratin potatoes - too cheesey for my taste. Overall, it was alright.

This place was amazing. Honestly the best steak a country-girl from Nebraska could ask for. The service was impeccable and the place was beautiful. A great place for a celebration or big event... Out of everything, I was not a fan of the au gratin potatoes. I know a lot of yelpers have raved about them, but the use of processed cheese was out of character for a place like this. Expect to get what you pay for... it was about $200 for my hubby and I. Let me just say though, it was worth it!!

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Service was excellent, attentive but not annoying. Cocktails were nice and strong. At a nice steak house like Mahogany's One would expect a premium steak prepared as ordered, and I was not disappointed. The sides were delicious and plentiful. The one item that was more memorable than anything else was the creme brûlée cheesecake, this was the best cheesecake I have ever had! A great dining experience! My husband and I love this place! It's our place for anniversary or special occasion dinner! Love the steaks, their lobster cargot appetizer is the best appetizer I've ever had! Great service! Yes it's pricy but you get what you pay for. In our opinion it is the best steak in town!

This is by far the best restaraunt in Omaha. It is higher in price, so be prepared to spend a couple hundred for a couple, but I can tell you that you will not be disappointed. Everything is excellent, but if you want a recommendation, you must try the lobster cargo on your first visit, along with a bone-in filet mignon and aug gratin potatoes. All the desserts are fantastic and the service is impeccable!

Wow. Above average food, above average service, appropriate prices. Appetizers: Be careful - if you order the assorted platter, it's big enough to feed a party of 4 and then skip dinner. And it's darn good. We ordered a bunch of stuff with our big party - I had the bone-in 12 ounce fillet, and it was incredible. I like steak, and liked this fillet. The decor was nice, the service was excellent, the food came out hot and cooked properly. A very good time.

For the price they charged the steak should be the "best steak of all". Unfortunately it was NOT. My New York Strip had a big portion of nerves that, as you can imagine, were not very tender to chew. A very bad steak experience on the "land" of the Omaha Steaks.... On top of that, our server was not very friendly on explaining the available cocktails and limited himself on saying "we have a full bar, so whatever you like we can make it", but didn't offer a drink menu or even a suggestion! Definitely not worthy!

Atmosphere - very nice. Food: Lobster bisque - Very rich, very good. 8 oz Filet Mignon - did not "melt" in your mouth. Was cooked well. But not the best I've ever had. It comes on a sizzling HOT plate. They have you cut into while it's still sizzling which makes the juices run out onto the plate. Then the juices are spitting at you because the plate is so hot. I mean, you will BURN yourself if you touch this plate it is so hot. Asparagus - had it without the hollandaise sauce and it was very yummy. Well seasoned and well cooked. Saute'd spinach - Excellent. I'm not a spinach fan but it was really tasty. Baked potato - Huge, prepared nicely. Wait staff - Very attentive. Water glass was always full. WAY OVER PRICED. We will not be returning.

The best thing about Mahogany Prime was the ambiance and vast drink menu. Otherwise, I thought the steak was just decent. The waitress was a lil standoffish but we made it through the night without any mishaps. I don't mind paying top dollar for a good meal but when I do, I expect the best of everything and I've had the same or better service at less pricey restaurants. Would I recommend Mahogany Prime? Sure! Would I go back? Yes, but ONLY if I was already on that side of town. I wouldn't make a special trip.

Pros: Best steak in the steak capital of the country Cons: Expensive, but worth every penny Omaha is well known as the beef capital of America, but you can hit up a place in the city and easily be disappointed due to these lofty standards. I have with many restaurants in the area, but one gets the award for being the best steak I've ever had in Omaha. Mahogany is excellent and probably one of my favorite steakhouses anywhere in the country (and I've been to many). The servers are top notch and professional. You come in and you are treated like royalty. Once you sit down in the clean, roomy dining room, you are treated to some of the best sides anywhere. Lobster, potatoes, corn off the cob. The menu has many choices of steaks and seafood. I'd skip the seafood and go with one of the steaks. You're in Omaha, so why not? I got the bone-in filet mignon (maybe the only place I've ever been with such a thing) and it was delicious from the first taste all the way to the last bite. I liked how before I ate my steak two servers came over with flashlights to make sure I thought the steak was cooked to my standards. Very cool. The meal was a wallet buster, so obviously it's not somewhere you go to eat at all the time, but if you are in Omaha and want to have that awesome Omaha steak experience, check out Mahogany. Just make sure you have enough cash in your bank account to pay off the bill.

Really 4 and a half, but I round down for a few small (non-steak) issues One of the best steakhouses I've been to. Bone-in filets were cooked to the right temperature (at my table: Rare, Med-Rare, Med, Med-Well) - all of which were done exactly right. the medium well steak was cut in half as you would expect. I would actually recommend probably the bone in strip or rib-eye, but that's generally because I'm not a huge fan of filet. For some reason I was imagining the filet of a porterhouse but so much of the bone is removed that it's more like a center cut filet than what you'd expect. That said, a filet is a filet, so if you like filet, get it. Appetizers: Calamari was just OK, - perhaps a little soggy/not quite as much crisp as we would have liked. The house salad was fantastic-highly recommend. Those who got the mozz-tomato salad said it was fine but nothing to write home about. Sides: the corn side is a must, really fantastic. The baked potato (shared) was a bit dry and mealy. Au Gratin - great. All in all, an enjoyable meal, for under a hundred bucks apeice (though we only got 1 bottle of red for the table)

This was our second visit here and the food was outstanding. We all had Filets, two with baked potato and two with the corn. The meat was cooked perfectly and the sides were awesome. Everyone loved dessert too. Only thing keeping this from a 5 star review was the service - waitress had no personality.

This was one of the highlights of my trip to Omaha - to eat an Omaha steak. We made reservations a few weeks in advance. From downtown, it's about a 25 minutes drive so you'll need a rental car to get here. I've eaten at alot of prime steakhouses in the country; New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, Tokyo, San Francisco, and Mahogany's ranks right up there with all of them. We each ordered a Bone in Filet Mignon with a starter soup crab/lobster bisque, asparagus, and creamed potatoes. The Bone in Filet is not on the menu and is a special for $55. The soup was good with a good size crab/lobster. Now for the steak, it was YUMMY! They only use salt, pepper, and butter. The meat was very tender and one of the best meats I've had. I still rank Wagyu beef as probably the best beef I've ever had. The sides were just as good. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and even went out of her way to give us plastic forks/knives as we were from out of town. To any people visiting or local, this is definitely a must try as it will be one of the best steaks you'll ever have.

My only regret about Mahogany is that we can't afford to go there more often than we do. My hubby and I go to Mahogany about once or twice a year for a special occasion and it's well worth the time, money to hire a sitter, and the expense of eating there to go. We always order too much food and end up with pregnant-sized bellies and leftover containers. Most times we start with an order of the lobster served escargot style. It's not on the menu but they seem to always have it as a special whenever we go. It's a fantastic appetizer that I've never heard of before going to Mahogany. The lobster is always cooked perfectly and the butter and cheese that it's paired with add a perfect saltiness to the sweet lobster meat. We used to order soup but we stopped after neither of us could eat more than 2 bites of our entrees because we were too full by the time they came out. So we don't get soup anymore but all of them are excellent. If you're going to go to a steak house like this, you've got to order steak! My hubby and I both order their filets almost every time and are never dissappointed. The steaks are perfectly cooked and seasoned and melt in your mouth like butter. I've never had a better steak than at Mahongany's. We've tried many of their side dishes and, while they are all great (some are pretty "heavy" though, which doesn't sit well with an already tightening stomach), it's hard to find room for them after the appetizer, bread, and steak. So we usually go without sides. Dessert makes to sick to think of after all that food but I'm sure all their offerings are wonderful, just like everything else. The service is the best around and the atmosphere is lovely. The little candies they have sitting out for you to grab on your way out the door and very yummy and I always have to grab a couple no matter how full I am.

People are going to start banding against me if I keep ruining the 4 and 5 star rating steaks at these West Omaha Steakhouses... Anyway, I haven't and probably won't, eaten at Mahogany more than once. My reason is the cost. Obviously I already have my opinion when it comes to my 'special occasion/fine dining places' and since I haven't quite figured out how to cultivate that money tree yet, there's only room for so many on my dining repertoire. Plus, this is probably the most expensive of my top 5 fine dining options. Still, the food was very enjoyable. Steaks were melt-in-your mouth delish and the tomato mozzarella salad sticks out in my memory. It's hard to forget good mozzarella, after all. Service was fantastic as well.

Service was excellent and not as annoyingly overt as it once was. And they don't hurry you out of there just to turn a table. Excellent wine menu. Server recommended the most expensive ones which is good for someone that works on tips. Coppola directors cut Pinot was great for $12 a glass. Trout dip ($18) excellent. Beef tips in mushroom sauce ($28) is so good you would lick the plate if you were at a diner. They push the bone in filet followed by the regular filet($39) but they don't come with mushroom gravy!! Creamed Spinach ($9) was too cheesy. Sea Bass ($39) was excellent and surprisingly large (ordered withOUT the verblanc sauce). It made me forget about the king crab legs , $49 for 7 oz. Star of the dinner was the Ahi Tuna appetizer ($18) Fresh and seared perfectly. Of course we skipped the chocolate ganache devils food lava cake! Next time ! Coffee ($3) was great. This year, we've been to Capitol Grille and to Ruth Chris' and Mahogany Prime is pretty close in quality, service, ambience and a LOT closer to our house!

I don't know where to start. During my last few visits, it was all about the filet, which I must admit is quite scrumptious, but the bone in ribeye has stolen my heart (and stomach). The meat was melt in your mouth and if I weren't hooked on Charley's (Orlando) citrus and oak essence, Mahogany would be my only 5 star steakhouse. We dined in "The Captain's Room" and enjoyed some Stag's Leap to start with appetizers close behind. I'm a fan of the lobster escargot and it did not disappoint. A few other firsts, calamari and bacon wrapped scallops, were quite enjoyable as well. Sides included amazing spinach, buttery corn, au gratin potatoes, and lobster Mac and cheese, which is not a menu item but our attentive waiter overheard our lobster Mac and cheese conversation and modified this staple to accommodate our palates. Simply put, a must try if you're in the Omaha area! Thanks Mahogany, we'll be back soon!

If you're in Omaha and have the coin, this place has the best NY strip on the planet. Lobster cargot is also a mind blow. Having eaten in some of the best steak houses in the world, I can say that I've never had better (including NY and Chicago).

Passing through Omaha on our trip to Chicago, so of course we had to stop for steak. Yelp'd and found Mahogany to be the top rated steak-house. Despite high expectations, we were not disappointed. The wifey had the bone-in filet, and I ordered the bone-in NY. Both equally delicious but totally different in flavor. Following the advice from other reviews, we also ordered the au gratin potatoes. I'm usually not a big fan of cheese, but it paired perfectly with the steak! Service was terrific. Food was terrific. 5-stars all the way. The bill came out to be $250, but worth every penny.

Top notch! Great price to quality balance with an atmosphere that was not overly stuffy. I stayed a couple nights in Omaha and wanted to get a great steak for dinner. Yelped some reviews and turned up Mohagany....it fit the bill perfectly. I had the Filet and it was very good. I also had the mac n cheese (pretty good), corn in cream (AMAZING), and mixed app platter (surprisingly excellent). All in all, it was as good or better than any place I've been in the $50-or-less-per-steak range.

We went to Mahogany Prime for a business dinner. The service was excellent and the food delicious. Both the fillet (medium-rare) and the NY Strip (medium) were cooked perfectly. To verify, they stood over us with flashlights as we cut into the center to ensure that it was cooked to perfection. The steaks were both very flavorful. The wedge/blue cheese salad was as expected. And the sauteed spinach was very good also. This is everything I look for in a steak house.

We normally love it here but have to say, wasnt great this time. Calamari was dry and chewy, shriveled-ish The bone in fillet was great however. Salmon, crab and shrimp dish (that I always get) was just a little too salty this time. The side of corn which is another favorite of ours wasnt quite right and was full of little corn husk strings that my daughter kept thinking were 'hairs'. Service was great though.

I travel across the country, and have been to quite a few high-end steak restaurants so far. I put Mahogany among the elite, but not the best I ever had (Chicago Firehouse still holds that distinction). I showed up on a Wednesday evening, by myself, as I was traveling on business. I am not sure if this is the kind of restaurant whose quality drops precipitously with a crowd, but I chose a weekday to guard against that possibility. The place is intimately lit, there's even a fire pit outside which is cool, but not too dark. I had a few servers, all very professional, and they gave excellent details about the selections. One downside was that they kept pushing their wine menu, which I thought was very annoying. I had a business call coming in, that I clearly wanted to take, had already ordered a martini, and he kept going. I cannot fault Mahogany's too much though, since this is a trending issue at a lot of these places, however, it's part of why they only get 4 stars. I began the night (after a long day) with a dirty martini that they mixed table-side. It was exactly what I needed, and they did not shy away from making it strong. An hour and a half later, and I was still feeling it.. For my appetizer, I ordered the lobster escargot, which was a special on the menu. At first, it did not look appealing, but in this case, looks were definitely deceiving. It tasted amazing, and had an incredible flavor to it that one of the serves later mentioned was cayenne pepper. It was so good it inspired me to go out to the store when I got home and buy some for my home cooking! For my entree, I had the bone-in filet mignon, another special, and sauteed spinach. The filet was excellent; very juicy, tender, just enough flavor. It did not have too much gristle on the steak, which is exactly how I like them. It was so tender that I could cut it with the side of my fork. That's when you know they cooked it just right, and you got a good cut for dinner. As for the spinach, I was not impressed at all. It was drenched in olive oil and poorly done. I'm a big fan of sauteed spinach since I think it's a great way to eat a healthy food. Unfortunately, Mahogany poured in olive oil, which is pure fat (albeit an unsaturated fat, but still...) Overall, it is an excellent restaurant, but needs to round out the edges when it comes to its sides and service. I would definitely come back, but might check out the other local chop houses first, since the Omaha area is renowned for its steaks. Nonetheless, Mahogany's does the region proud, and reaffirms the area's reputation.

Ri-dic-u-lous Had the bone-in-ribeye with au gratin potatoes and a bottle of Twenty Bench. After our amazing meal my colleague asked our server about the label on the wine bottle. She brought the general manager over who knew about it and he chatted with us about wine for another 20 minutes and even gave us a sample of another one of his favorites. We both left saying it was one of the top 3 if not THE best meal we'd ever eaten. Can't wait for my next trip to Omaha.

When you think Omaha Steaks, what do you think of? I know what I'll be thinking of now, Mahogany steaks! lol. This place is incredible! But be warned a lot of things that they mention that aren't on the menu are probably aren't on there because they don't want you to see their ridiculous prices. Bone-in-filet is about $53 and the Bone-in-New York Strip is $52. The lobster-cargo appetizer is $24! Ridiculous. But definitely worth it. It can get pretty pricey for 2 people ($150) -- this includes 1 appetizer, 1 soup (shared), 2 steaks and 1 dessert (shared), 2 sides, and 1 wine glass. Overall, definitely a new favorite steak house.

I went to dinner here for the first time a week ago, and all I have to say is...wow. I've lived in L.A. for 5 years and have had the opportunity to eat at some EXCELLENT restaurants in L.A...and this is easily comparable. First thing when we walked in the door we were greeted by smiling, friendly hostesses who asked us if they could take our coats for us and check them (yes please!). When we got to our table, our waiter promptly came over and flooded us with information about the quality of their steaks, how they prepare them, etc...my mouth was watering within 10 minutes of my arrival. I wish I could have tried everthing on the menu, but alas, my stomach is only so big. You order the sides separately and share them; my boyfriend and I ended up getting: - Filets (he got the bone-in filet, while I got the 12 oz. filet): Both were DELICIOUS, and I ordered mine with the peppercorn sauce, which was also really good and spicy. - Side of asparagus: Excellent; served al dente, so it's got a little crunch - Side of the potatoes au gratin: Also amazing...we absolutley inhaled them (inbetween bites of our steak, of course)...they were very rich and cheesy One thing I LOVED (and had not seen another restaurant do before) was when you get your steak, they have 2 guys with little lights come over and shine the light right on your steak while you cut into the middle of it, just to make sure its done to your specification. AWESOME. Mine was done perfectly. I think the only complaint that my boyfriend had about his steak was that it was about $15 more than mine, but wasn't really any better than mine (which was still amazing, don't get me wrong). He probaly would have gone with the same filet I had if he could do it over again. Otherwise, it was superb! I would for sure go back.

Great food ridulously overpriced. Not our first visit and not likely to be our last, but this was simply unjustifiable...and my guess is it's an unsustainable business model for Omaha. I'm aware of the locale and the proximity to an affluent part of town, etc., but that's not enough to sustain any establishment, let alone a place with off-the-charts prices like they have. I don't care about the income level of the typical patron, there is no such thing as a perception of value in a $60 steak ('bone-in filet' or not) that arrives a la carte with absolutely nothing else on the plate. That's an awful lot of vacant porcelain. At least the $150 special fills the plate.

Short and sweet - best steaks in Omaha! The only thing that I don't like about the place is hearing about their 1600 degree oven and how it seals in the juices of the steak - every time I go there. Little known fact - we catered a dinner and got a seafood buffet for the appetizer course. It was some of the best seafood I have gotten in Omaha as well! Smoked Salmon, Shrimp, Crab, Lobster - wow! Like everyone else said - they are mondo expensive, but worth it for special occasions. On one adventure my steak was not cooked properly - I asked them to take it back (though I rarely make this bold move since watching Waiting). Not only did they redo my steak, but gave me a gift certificate because they felt I had to wait too long.

Never miss a chance to go when I'm in Omaha. Their bone in filet is the best anywhere. Wine list is outstanding, service is great, and something for everyone on the menu.

This was one of the best steakhouses i have ever visited nationwide. The steak was amazing, the servers wewre witty and engaged in appropriate banter. Also, the salad was terrific and a young gentlemen made us an excellent wine recommendation. I would only suggest that they add some sort of mashed potatoes to their menu. I would recommend this steakhouse with enthusiasm.

Is there such a thing as bone-in fillet mignon? YES, but only at Mahogany. I had the privilege of dining there twice. Never confuse rare with soft, or seasoned with naturally flavorful. The folks at Mahogany sure got it right. Tried their cowboy ribeye which is a bit big for a single person's consumption but it was so tasty I could easily devour the whole thing with no complaints. The 2nd time I tried their outrageously priced signature bone-in fillet mignon and all I can say is that it puts Japanese Wagyu (had it once in Ginza) to shame. Yes I am making a bold statement which should spark a lot of flames but I am standing behind it.

Consistently the best steaks I have ever had. Simply amazing. They seem to sear the steaks in butter or oil before serving them and they serve them on plates so hot that you can literally cook a rare piece (or finger) on them. I have eaten a lot of great steaks in Omaha and elsewhere, but there really isn't even a close second. The sides, particularly the potatoes au gratin, are similarly amazing, but all that really matters is the steaks. They are not to be missed. As others have mentioned, the prices are outrageous. I was also surprised to learn that it is a chain, though there are only two other locations (both in Oklahoma, I believe). However, when you combine the sheer excellence of the food with impeccable service, Mahogany is the pinnacle of dining in Omaha.

So I was in Nebraska for the first time visiting my old college roommate who ended up settling there. For the years leading up to my visit, he kept luring me out to husker-land with the promise of the 'best steaks you'll ever have'. So obviously, my expectations were high. Then we went to Mahogany's and I was still amazed... no, I'll say blown away... by the flavor of the steaks. We had 3 different cuts and shared a bit and they were all fantastic. Corn-fed steaks....nothing like it... the winner was probably the bone-in-filet-mignon however. If you are an A1 freak, trust me when I say you will not need such blasphemous condiments here. Also, you know they take their steaks seriously when they send a SWAT team out to your table with pen-lights to make sure the center of your steak passes quality control. The accessories were just as good as the main course. The au-gratin side, fresh baked loaves of bread, and wine selections were all excellent. I'll be back...maybe even change my next flight back east to connect through Omaha for an evening at Mahogany's. This is the sort of place that's an argument against being a vegetarian.

I was on business in Omaha and my clients suggested Mahogany. After coming here, Any steak that comes in front of me again, will have some competition! I will never ever have a better steak than the one I had here. Sides are large, so they are great to share. they know their wine and try their specials. I had the Bone in Filet and never knew they can do that!!! If you think your full, stuff yourself with dessert, it's worth it! Service was spectacular! My waitress KNOWS a cow. I have never seen someone ask me to cut my steak, flash a light at it and make sure that my steak is cooked the way it is. The decor is cool, log house style, I think I was amazed by it because I'm from Boston. Thank you Omaha for giving this east coast girl a steak nirvana!

Steaks were superb!!! Service was excellent!! The only other steakhouse that compares is Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Walnut Creek, CA. Who would have thought Omaha would offer such fine dining. Of course, Nebraska does have wonderful steaks. One warning: it is expensive.

The steaks were what to be expected in Omaha and the heart of beef country. The sides were perfect - except the Mac & Cheese side could be improved. Expect to pay...but well worth the price. Only a few places can achieve the service level that Mahogany provides. Service on par with the Capital Grille and the better steak houses in Chicago.

Went here for our two year anniversary. very unimpressed with service we waited almost 10 minutes before having our drink orders taken, and then the waitress brought us the wrong drinks. the food was decent but not what you would expect from a 40 dollar steak. I ordered the prime new york steak medium rare it was brought out medium well. I was brought a replacement steak but by the time It was brought out to me my wife's steak and the sides were already cold. Upon leaving when I brought all this up to the management I was only told "Sorry about that. I hope you come back" I won't be making that mistake again. The sides were nothing special either. Very disappointed for our second anniversary . The only positive was the lobster bisque was a great soup. For this price I would recommend Brother Sebastian's Steak House.
