Being from out of town, and therefore vastly unfamiliar with the dining scene in Omaha, my family decided to turn to our amazing fail-safe, Yelp, to provide some insight on where we should eat for the night. We had been in the air all day, trekking from San Francisco to Omaha -- a lengthy journey made unbearable by a two hour layover in Las Vegas (hellhole of an airport). Our only meals for the day were comprised of fake eggs and fake bacon served at the Las Vegas airport, as well as the snacks provided by South West Airlines. Needless to say, we had an appetite by the time dinner rolled around. Yet, at the same time, we wanted to make our first night in the area memorable by eating somewhere that we wouldn't be able to find back home in the Bay Area. Fortunately, Yelp pointed us in the right direction. While Yelp Omaha doesn't appear to have as big of a user base as the South Bay -- or anywhere in the California Bay Area for that matter -- the Omaha Yelp community sure knows how to rate restaurants. We ended up at The LongHorn Steak House (because if you're visiting Omaha, you need to go to a Steak House!) around 7:30, and although we had called in 30 minutes before (because apparently they only take call-ins, not reservations), there was zero wait and plenty of tables when we arrived. The same was true for when we left. Our waitress was named Lynzee, and I hope she gets some recognition for being an amazing employee. She was always on top of addressing the needs of our table, and she was incredibly friendly in doing so. The menu had a terrific selection of different meats. There were the obvious steak choices, some fish and shellfish items, and also some items like chicken and pork-chops and ribs. My dad and sister ended up getting ribeyes, while my mom ordered a lobster special. I ended up with the ribs. I was able to try a bit of each dish my family members had ordered. I have to say, while each dish was incredibly amazing, my mom's lobster was probably the best. It was really delicious, and it was only around $24 or so (if I recall correctly). Regardless, all of us were beyond content with our meals. My sister had also ordered, with her ribeye, a shrimp skewer (around $5 or so) that she intended to split with me. The skewer was unfortunately forgotten about until we reminded the waitress awhile after our food arrived. The forgotten skewer ended up coming out to our table closer to the time we were finishing our meals, but we still accepted it regardless since we wanted to try it. It was also really good! Shortly after the skewer arrived, the manager, Kenneth, came to our table and explained that the skewer would be on the house because it had been the restaurant's error. We really appreciated that he had taken the initiative on the issue, even though we would not have complained seeing how happy we were with the place overall. We ended up ordering dessert, too. My parents split a cheesecake while my sister and I had something akin to an apple pie. It was delicious, but we had to hit the training room at the hotel when we returned in order to work off some of the calories from it. Myfitnesspal says it's about 1600 something calories for the dish. Still, it was well worth it -- I'm just glad we split it. Overall, we had a great time at this restaurant. I would recommend it wholeheartedly. If you're ever in the area, give this place a try. Just remember to call in 40 minutes before you get there if you don't want to chance a possible wait.

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. Seated right away. The kids meals come with teddy Graham's which is awesome! Fast service, friendly competent server. Food was good. Overall great experience.

My filet was like butter I had the ribeye. Ordered it the way I like it and they listened! It was perfect. Extra pepper. Super temperature hot on the outside. Pink and warm on the inside. My wife's filet was "like butter" Good bread and good service. I'd come back for sure.

I have been here a few times and I have been impressed every time. The first time I tried Longhorn, it was a different location (council bluffs) and they took care of our appetizer because we had to wait a while for our server. (Which we really didn't, but I was very impressed with the manager for making sure we were completely taken care of!) I like the choices Longhorn gives you and the food is good. We decided to try the fried calamari appetizer. It had a sweet and spicy sauce on it, which was really good, I just didn't expect them to come out already covered in the sauce. it was a huge serving and I felt like I got my money's worth for the appetizer! I ordered the prime rib with a side salad and mashed potatoes. Their Caesar salad was excellent and came out on time. When they brought our prime ribs out they switched them, since we had different side items. Our server offered to take them back and get us new, fresh cooked right ones. We didn't have a problem just switching them from plate to plate, but I appreciated his offer! It was very good and sadly I didn't have the room to finish my food, It was a lot! I also had one of their sangria drinks. It was good, just a bit sweet for my tastes! This place is always a good option for a steakhouse! They have a good sized menu, I've never had trouble getting in and their service has always been good!

Cleanliness 4 Service 4 Food Quality 4 Likelihood 5 1-5 (5 Best!) 4.3 Dinner for 3 please... Our friend joined us, his first time to LongHorn. We had great service, and such wonderful food. I think that they offer the best Sirloin in Omaha. I did try their shrimp at dinner and thought they were a bit small, and perhaps overcooked. They were served on a bed of too-much rice. In my opinion, the steak melts in my mouth. It is a flavorful cut, never gristle or a lot of fat. Prepared MR (just the way steak should be served!) LOL I will admit I was surprised that our last two visits did not include a manager stopping by to check in on us. That normally happens. Interesting. We will return again, soon.

Longhorn. Another Steakhouse in the Heart of Omaha. Wonderful Location for our house. Super easy for us to get in and out of. We stopped in for dinner Friday evening . arrived right in the middle of 1st service. We were promptly seated by a friendly hostess. Our waiter arrived within minutes and took our drink orders. he did a wonderful job trying to upsell the drinks. My margarita came with no salt and was in a pint glass. Bit dissappointed what is the point of a margarita with no salt. And a pint glass is not the proper vessel for this wonderful drink. For our meals I ordered the Largest cut of Prime Rib Medium. and my wife ordered the sirloin special they had with mushrooms and cheese. The Prime Rib was a good looking cut however it was obvious it had not finished cooking all the way before they started piecing it out. and the cooks finished it under a salamander. It was overly cooked on the outside with a wierd brown crust and a ugly shine to it. and was rare and the marble edge had curled up and pulled away from the tender center. it was flavored well but was not how you cook and finish a prime rib. Now my wife's sirloin was one of the driest worst cuts of meat I have ever experienced. I didn't think much of it until she passed it to me to cut and try a piece. It was soo horribly dry you could not tear it at all. I mean exactly it was jerky. it was maybe if even a 1/8th of an inch and was more of a chuck steak that was cooked than a sirloin. For dessert we had the molten lava cake. now this was a very nice well done dessert. Moist fluffy cake around a nice chocolate center. the caramel and chocolate striping they did over it was also very nice. 2 Dinners 2 Drinks Salad and Side upgrade 1 dessert $80+ Dollars. With the poor quality of the steaks I was very dissappointed :( maybe a off night or soo busy the kitchen didn't care because it showed in the meal.

This was our first visit to a Longhorn Steak house. We thoroughly enjoyed it! We were greeted and seated right away. Our waitress Ashley was a true peach! She got our drinks quickly, have us great service, and had very good recommendations for food and drink. The atmosphere was very good and the customer service was excellent. A gentlemen, I'm guessing a manager of sorts , stopped by to politely chat us up and make sure our visit was going well. We had steaks and dinner salads. My hubby got their version of the surf and turf- a filet with a lobster tail. He said the boater was excellent. Our steaks were juicy and well seasoned- no need for any steak sauces! My only "complaint", and reason for 4 instead of 5 stars- was that we ordered medium steaks (warm pink center) and got Medium well. Still very good, very tasty, and juicy....but not what we wanted. That being said we will still rerun, it would be a great place to take the folks too.

Longhorn is ok. I have had a few good meals there but last time my steak was basically rolled in salt.

This review is just for lunch. I was planning on a big dinner this night so I ordered the soup & salad combo with chili and a house salad. The chili was bland and tasted only of tomato. The side salad tasted like pre cut lettuce - spongy and artificial tasting. It was all very disappointing. The two best things about the meal were the cold Coronas and the little cup of potato chips that comes with the chili - they had white queso and bacon on them.

After my last review, Jonathan from Guest Relations at this location reached out to me. While I felt we had an overall good experience, and was simply pointing out a few small items I felt they could work on, he took it very seriously. He assured me that the General Manager would look into all of the items I mentioned and asked us to come back and try them again. I have to say, Jonathan was incredibly professional in his communication and his emails felt sincere when contacting me. It was a nice move on their part to reach out to me to let me know they can do better. Way to pay attention! We decided to go here again on a recent Saturday night. Like before we were promptly seated and our server was friendly. The service was pretty quick throughout the meal, with various servers brining out food to us. While not always our primary server, it was quick and all our food was served piping hot. My wife's margarita was very good and I had a 'Montana Mule' (their take on a Moscow Mule), which was good in its own right. The steaks were seasoned well and cooked well just like the last time. As this is a steakhouse, I will say they do steaks right! Definitely a good place to stop if you are in the mood for some red meat done right.

Service was attentive and polite if a bit disinterested. Salmon was wonderful. Mushroom bisque was not. It was sweet and did not taste like mushrooms. Biggest issue was that our sweet potato skin tasted like dirt. Maybe they forgot to wash them.

I like Longhorn. I do. It's moderately priced and you get some good quality dead animal. Sure they sell other stuff that didn't use to exist at a petting zoo but people come to Longhorn to put a piece of a mutilated animal in their head. But I got a bone to pick with a steakhouse...and call it bad timing. You all know D'Brickashaw, the Food-loving T-Rex, right? Well he use to have another tag line to his name. I won't use it anymore because, Saturday I dealt with some things, in a grown up manner and figured I'd let the angst go and treat D'Brickashaw as less of a tool to cope with a divorce in a bitter way but as simply a running gag that adds a bit of whimsy to my reviews. It helps! So yea...Saturday I grew up and stuff and decided the best way to treat myself for doing that was to channel my inner Ron Swanson and get meat!!! I can haz meatz!!! I walked in with 3 specific things in my pockets. A Darden gift card (free meal) and a $5 bill and a $10 bill. I knew my lunch was gonna be free but that was my secret. I wanted to just walk in, alone, weird guy covered in tattoos, and see what happened. I knew my meal would be under $20 so the two bills would be an awesome tip or an awesomer tip. It would depend on service...and...He got the $5. And it took a team to get him that $5. The initial opening was good. Got my menu, water and bread quick, as I had the entire side of the restaurant to my onesies. There was a larger group on the other and a couple small families. But my side was mine!!! I prowled the menu and settled on an 11 oz steak and the fried artichoke harvest. It was new and I wanted it. Sadly...I'd want it for the next 15 minutes. My waiter never returned. He tended to his party and took drink orders, meal orders and was probably a few minutes from delivering said orders to a family that showed up AFTER me. Hisss!!!! I pride myself on my bottomless pit of patience. My former dinner mate was far less patient. She use to be in the dinner service industry, so she'd get venomous over such an oversight. She would have stormed the place. Bless her. I, on the other hand, bided my time, giving him every chance to see me peeking over the ledge to the booth where the family, who got there after me, was being treated to 5 star service. I let him have one more lap. Then i went full "Battle Stations, Target human, Mission: DESTROY. By this, I mean I gently got the attention of the Waitress dame, as she passed by and said, calmly, "I hate to bother, but my waiter hasn't returned to take my order and I know he's been over there, diligently working, but I'm pretty sure he's forgot about me, as he did serve that family and they were here after me." She swiftly acknowledged that she had seen me sitting here for a bit, with no attention, thinking my order was already taken. She proceeded to take my order and, to my best hopes, told the waiter that I demanded he reprimand himself in a manner dictated in the Bushido code of honor. I dunno...that would have been knarly. She must have told him because for the duration of my stay, he made it a point to stop by my table every 5 minutes. And that was on top of the visits from my savior waitress dame. I got visited a lot. The artichoke harvest plate came. And it was good, light breading, not too greasy, the veggies still had a veggie taste. It was good with the spicy ranch goop. By the time my plate was clean, out came my medium rare steak, cooked how I liked it. It was good. But it was bittersweet as service can sour a palate before a bite of food touches your tongue. As my opening sentence said, I like Longhorn. I do...A lot. But today it was just good with an aftertaste that wasn't what I really needed. They tried to make it up and gave me the appetizer for free and I accepted the REPEATED apologies and still enjoyed my meal. I pulled out my gift card and the $5 and put it in the bill thingy. The waiter asked, "So some off the card and the $5?". "No, all off the card and the $5 (a 25% tip) is for you." Burn!!!!!!! I took care of you better than you did for me!! Kill em with kindness!!! Suck it!!! I'm a nice guy in an evil "makes you think" way!!! Gwahahahahahahahahaha!!!! Vengeance was mine...Ron Swanson. So I left, a little brought down by the experience but I didn't leave angry because I was having a very PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) Day. I still rewarded the attempt to make it up to me and I still had a good meal. All I can say is I'm 5ft 6in. I'm short, not invisible. But I do tend to stick out. So it's weird to feel forgotten. Bummer, right. I handled it well but I'm not the one hired to handle things well in this business. I will return and hope they can redeem themselves, but for this visit, the one animal not on the menu is a sad panda...he's the one writing this review. Put this in your facehole! Eat up, Minions!

I have never had a bad experience here. From the servers to the management staff to the food. Now, that being said I will not say I have never had problems. There have been times the steak hasn't been cooked correctly. There have been times when the sides were mixed up. But that is not what I base my reviews on. Those issues were handled quickly, and courteously by the staff. I will say that Paul, manager, is very easy to get along with and remembers my family by name when we visit. The staff also goes above and beyond. My child was at Children's Hospital's ICU for four days. We were dead tired and I refused to leave. Husband ordered from Longhorn and went to pick it up. First, they were upset that he didn't tell them we were at the hospital--that they would've had someone bring the food to us! (No they don't deliver, but they all have a heart!) Secondly, they gave us real silverware and not the plastic stuff they normally give to take-out orders --we did return it later. That experience alone with them while my child was in the hospital has made me a customer for life. They get to know their customers and even though it is a chain restaurant--this made it feel family-owned and operated. I was very impressed. The food is amazing, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better Rib-eye at these prices that is this quality. The prices are reasonable. The atmosphere isn't bad. The service is first in class. Don't change a thing you guys do! You're amazing!

I made my first visit to The Longhorn Steakhouse the other night. Upon entering I liked the western décor...made for a "comfortable" atmosphere. We asked for a booth and were promptly seated right next to the kitchen. That meant the waiters and waitresses would be passing right by us every time they went into the kitchen...not to mention the noise from the kitchen was more audible than at other booths. I looked around and saw many other open booths, so we asked to switch to one of them which our waitress had no problem with. Odd...same thing that happened to Shelby B per his Yelp review! Unsure why the booth by the kitchen wouldn't be the last booth to seat guests at! The waitress took our drink order...I ordered the Sam Adams seasonal ale but I was told they were delivered the wrong keg so I opted for the "mistake" keg beer which I cannot remember the name of. It tasted similar to a blue moon which I was not shooting for, but it was okay. For a starter I ordered the Mushroom Truffle Bisque soup. Now I LOVE mushrooms, and LOVE cream of mushroom soup so was pretty excited to taste it. When it came it had such an earthy/dirty smell that my dining partner across the table was put off by it. The taste...exactly as it smelled. I couldn't eat it. Perhaps it was the grade of truffles used, or perhaps that is how truffles taste? It did not matter...I pushed it aside. Our salads were delivered shortly after and were prepared just fine. I ordered the ribeye with a side of fresh green beans. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and seasoned perfectly, but for whatever reason was very chewy. I began cutting my bites into very very small pieces, but even those very small pieces required a significant amount of "chewing time". The green beans were done perfectly so I ate nearly all of them. My dining partner ordered the Balsamic-Raspberry seared chicken which was served with goat cheese crumbles...she enjoyed it. I was able to get a taste of it and thought it was a tasty dish. She ordered a side of Mushroom Risotto, and upon its delivery we immediately could smell it and knew it was a bad choice. Same earthy/dirty smell and taste as the Mushroom Bisque, and it seriously appeared that they pour the creamy bisque into the risotto to make it. Just didn't seem right for risotto. Although my meal left me disappointed, the service was spot on. I just think that the next time I have a ribeye it will be sizzling on my grill at home and it will be the tender juicy goodness that a ribeye should be.

"Very pleasing" describes this visit to LongHorn. I ordered the Redrock Grilled Shrimp ($17) -- three skewers of tender shrimp slathered with a kicky sauce served atop flavorful rice pilaf. The accompanying mixed salad and vegetable (steamed broccoli) were both tasty. My dinner partner ordered a beefsteak tomato salad with bacon, which I sampled. It was sprinkled with oversized cornbread croutons that were out of this world! Her entree was the Parmesan Crusted Chicken ($14 smaller portion) which she savored with smiles, and still had enough to take home. The atmosphere and service added to an experience that we felt could not have been better!

Decided to dine here since the restaurant I had planned on visiting was closed. Walked in with a friend and we were seated without a wait, which was quite a surprise for 5pm on a Sunday night. Dirty martinis were good, though I made the mistake of not asking whether vermouth would be in them. Ordered the Flat Iron Steak with Stuffed Portabella while my friend ordered the Parmesan Crusted Chicken. The chicken was quite tasty as were the mashed potato sides we both ordered. My steak was a disaster. I ordered it medium-rare and I'm surprised it didn't moo when I cut into it. I ate about a quarter of it and didn't even want to deal with sending it back. The mashed potatoes were filling enough. I might go back for more steak at some point, though I'll never order less than medium from here again.

This is my favorite chain restaurant of any. I was never one to eat steak without A-1 or Heinz (probably because mom never seasoned them at home) but here it is not needed. Very flavorful meals. There is nothing that I have tasted that I don't like. The atmosphere is great, not loud like other steakhouses. It's hard to find any place that has better customer service than this place. Top notch. The other plus is that it is open for lunch, which is hard to find a steakhouse that does that. Even though you think steakhouse and lunch together may be pricey, it isn't. Lot of great lunch options. This is a good meeting place for a business lunch too since it isn't so loud like nearby cafe's.

The food was a little pricey for the amount that we got.My wife had the 6oz bacon wrapped sirloin and I had the 10 oz chopped steak. The dis-appointment was that hers was bigger than mine. They both tasted very good though.Service was outstanding! Food was served in a timely manner. No rush. The place was clean and looked nice.We were seated right away.Take from that what you will.We might go back.I have a steakhouse that I love a lot more than this,so we will probably stick with that 1.We get an 18-22oz ribeye (his quote and I believe him) for $13.95! That is hard to beat especially when he always nails it! I won't say the name on this review though.Send a message to me if you want the name of the restaurant.

Friendly helpful wait staff, excellent food, clean and updated western decor. My son and I had dinner here while in town on business. We enjoyed a great dinner at reasonable prices for a nice steak dinner. We'll be back next time we're in town and highly recommend the Longhorn to any meat eaters in the area.

Excellent steaks! Service was wonderful. Side salad very nice and much more than just the iceberg lettuce in a bowl. Service was attentive but not intrusive. We had What is especially welcome is that the noise level permits conversation. We found the quality very good and value excellent. Our first time and we"ll. definitely return...soon!

Came to this location with a large party reservation on what appeared to be a medium-volume night for a friend's birthday at around 7pm on a Saturday. Members of my party did not receive the beverages they asked for; in some instances received their requests 30 min. after asking. Same for bread. Entrees arrived 3-4 min. after salads. Food was "auctioned off" for our ENTIRE table. Refills on water were almost non-existant. Refills on ALL beverages, alcoholic and non-, were not offered. Our bill was not split amongst couples/parties as was requested upon ordering. Upon receiving an incorrect bill, mgmt. did nothing to assist in splitting the bill/making corrections. Corrected bill was not received until 45-60 min. after the bill was delivered the first time. A member of our party who left the table to lodge a formal complaint w/ the mgr. on duty was met with condescending verbal cues, disrespectful body language and an overall lack of empathy for the situation. A member of our party celebrating her birthday was given a $50 gift card for her troubles - but it was clear by the mgr. on duty's response to our concerns that this was merely a pacification method. This was far-and-away the worst dining experience I have encountered in Omaha, NE, and it is unlikely that ANY member of my party will return. One redeeming quality - the entrees WERE delicious.
