This is my go to spot for good Chinese food. The service is always quick and friendly. My main dish there is the Mongolian beef, and it's always enough to fill me up. The shrimp chop suey and shrimp egg foo young? are also delicious. Definitely give this place a try if your looking for some Chinese food!

I stopped here for lunch with my brother on a Thursday in August. I saw so many great reviews for this place on several different review sites that I figured it had to be worth a try. It's located in a strip mall near the northwest corner of 90th & Fort (which is not a part of town I ever find myself in or near). However, my brother was working in north central Omaha that day and it was easy enough to zip up I-680. It's a nice enough place inside. Definitely a step above the average strip mall Asian restaurant. Plenty of seating, so definitely plan on being able to dine-in (believe it or not, there is no law requiring that Chinese food be takeout only!). Iced Tea was fresh-brewed but awful. It tasted like they made it using water they heated in a wok and they forget to clean the wok first. The Iced Tea has a Chinese food aftertaste to it. Weird. I ordered the General Tao's Chicken and my brother ordered the Kung Pao Jalapeño Shrimp. We both enjoyed our entrées. I thought my General Tao's Chicken was a little too sweet and my brother wasn't pleased with their use of pickled (instead of fresh) jalapeños in his Kung Pao Jalapeño Shrimp. However, overall they were both good entrées and certainly a bit above average. The Pork Egg Rolls and Crab Rangoon both tasted like they were the typical mass market frozen then fried variety. Nothing special there. Prices are pretty fair. $7 for a small entrée and $11 for a large entrée. Overall, a decent place to grab Chinese food in Northwest Omaha. It's not great, but certainly above average and better than most.

Totally pleasantly surprised by this place, which we found using yelp, after a furniture purchase nearby! It is located next to a voodoo taco (which I wanted more when I saw it) and looks like a place you would pass up! News flash don't pass it! I was so surprised by the food! It was just what I was craving! It is your typical Asian fast food place BUT they bring the food to your table and they clean it up for you too! That was the hardest part to walk away leaving my mess but I couldn't find the trash. Needless to say I will be back! Plus after we ordered there was a line forming! Good thing we got in early! I'll never be skinny while I live in omaha ! Really though I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking to satisfy their craving!

This is an excellent little Chinese restaurant! Not once have I ever had anything that wasn't excellent - and piping hot. I don't go for the atmosphere and ambiance. I go for the food. And especially considering the price, House of Lee is as good as it gets.

Just finished my meal. Hot and quick. Flavorful fried rice. The interior looks like it's been repainted and new decor. Super clean.

This is your standard run of the mill Chinese take away. The atmosphere wasn't exciting enough to consider dining in. While the food wasn't terrible it wasn't anything special to mention. The sauces for the four different dishes I ordered were almost identical, in color and taste, blah. I'm new to Omaha and I'm checking this one off my list. Been there, done that, moving on. If anyone in or near Omaha knows of an outstanding Chinese restaurant please hit me up.

House of Lee has been my family's go to spot for Chinese food for years. I am a huge Emperess Chicken fan but today i mistakenly ordered Princess Chicken. I was a bit bummed when i got home and realized my mistake until i tasted it. It was great and i will definitely order it again. Love the staff! Everyone is always so nice. The restaurant is clean and simple.in design. Great place to stop amd grab a quick meal.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
