I went here to cap off the day of my 21st birthday with a few margaritas with my boyfriend & best friend. I'd heard good things about the place from a coworker and was excited to check it out. Let me start this off by saying that my boyfriend & I both spent quite a bit of time working in the food service industry, so we know how restaurants work. We know what good service is, & we have standards. We know the difference between a good server & a bad server, and we're always super nice to our servers regardless because hey, we know that restaurant guests mostly suck. So we come in (it's not busy whatsoever) and sit near the back in these nice leather seats. We sit for a few minutes chatting, our server comes over, so we start ordering our drinks with her and she asks for my ID. I proudly show it to her (it's my 21st!) and she stares at it for a minute & kind of looks confused so I politely point out the date to her & she says "um yeah, I know where the date is. I've been bartending for awhile now." Okay, be more off-putting. I check IDs at my job & people point out the date to me all the time, but it doesnt annoy me & I would never be rude about it. Whatever. Small rude comment right? I order a frozen raspberry margarita. "Oh, the only frozen margaritas we have are strawberry & lime." Okay, I thought it said differently on the menu, but no problem! I like strawberry. "Okay, I'll take a frozen strawberry margarita." She corrects me, "A BLENDED margarita." Look, they're the same thing, and your menu says frozen. So what's the issue? My boyfriend orders a Red Bull margarita and asks if he can have it blended. She says no, because apparently they would pour in the Red Bull after blending it and it would melt the drink, which doesn't really make sense at all. But again, whatever. She drops off our drinks & doesn't come back after that, which was completely fine with us because of the attitude, and because when my boyfriend goes up to the bar for more drinks he finds that the bartender is pretty great! He even comes back to check on us later on. I ask him for another frozen margarita and he lists off all the flavors of frozen margaritas they offer...including raspberry. So, I don't really know why this girl felt the need to act rudely when she doesn't even know all her stuff. I initially gave it two stars for the great drinks, decor, & overall feel of this place but I had to give it another star for the awesome bartender who made our night turn out so well. If we hadn't had to deal with the initial bad service I definitely would have given Eat The Worm 4 stars!

Only rating for the service To the doorman: Physical action should never be taken without at least attempting to give a warning. I have never been treated so rudely by anyone until last night. I was literally man handled by the door man for trying to go back into the bar to meet up with friends (Note: I had already paid for my food there). He wouldn't let me past him and as I was trying to talk to them, without asking me to leave, he shoved me away, yelled at me and literally pushed me outside. I am appalled at how violent he was, no warning at all just physical action. Sure if i was a drunk asshole then I would have deserved to be treated that way but I was ending my night and trying to make sure my friends got home safe. Overall, if you are looking for somewhere to treat you decently this is NOT the place.

Cleanliness 4 Service 4 Food 4 Likelihood 4 OVERALL 4.0 I sure thought I had offered my thoughts on this place. Well, 4 of us came together for drinks and dinner. My those margaritas are powerful there. The bartenders took very good care of us. The restaurant and restrooms were clean, thanks! The food. Probably the best chicken nachos in this city. LOVED THEM. I would go back just for those. I ordered the chicken tacos. I am NOT a fan of corn tortillas being used for taco (I am a flour guy, and prefer them fried) so I didn't like my tacos. Not because they were bad, but because I don't like corn tortillas. I believe Ian was our last bartender/server. I finished us up and took great care of us. It was a good experience a great night and good times with Candy and Michael.

I have always had a great experience here, whether with a group or dragging myself in after a long shift (I work at another restaurant in the old market) the bartenders and kitchen guys are always friendly and quick. The food is pretty good (try the wings!) for bar food. I keep coming back for a good reason. No pretension, and they are happy to help which is what I need after a long day of serving other people. Good job guys!!

Drinks - They have a wall of tequilas. This could be quite overwhelming but my bartender was knowledgeable and patient in assisting my groups' margarita's tequila decision - brought samples that appeased the specific palates of my group. The margaritas are; crafted with homemade ingredients, strong, fairly priced, and plentiful (bartender gave each of us the leftover drink sitting in his shaker). The margaritas alone would have me coming back here weekly, and I'm not a marg guy. Food - Fresh, well-seasoned, and the menu contains all the Mexican staples. There is really nothing to complain about here either. I'm gluten free, as was another member of my group, and Eat the Worm has soft, corn tortillas - . Fresh salsas and decent guacamole. Thanks for the great pre-flight buzz, Eat the Worm! I wish this was in St. Louis.

Best and almost only place for post-bar chicken nachos! I'm not huge on tequila, but the authentic Mexican is amazing!! Great friendly service also! The bar tenders and cooks have good suggestions if you are not sure what to order! Also, the food is so cheap and great quality!!

  • Dylan O.

This place is awesome!!!! I'm Picky with margs and Mexican food but this ROCKS!! I had the handmade Marg and al pastor, very good and close to the good hotels. Scott was a great bartender, very knowledgable!!!

  • Colleen L.

The bartenders make this place great! While there are hundreds of tequila options, which can be overwhelming, they really know their stuff! They can point you toward the right drink for your palate. Good atmosphere and good food - just avoid the really late night crowd that crawls back for that final drink!

Great place for a good drink and awesome food! The staff are always nice and the owner Natalie is an amazing person! Must check out when in Omaha!

This place ROX.. Chris does it all... One of the best margariras I've ever had, great food until close. Pribably THE best olace in Old town for an honest, great time. Fjeran was great too.

  • Morgan H.

Good, fresh Mexican food. We had the chicken nachos and pork burrito. I like the freshness of the burrito with the cilantro. It's not covered in cheese like most places. Great service from the kitchen too!

  • Ben M.

What an awesome shop. The food was so good and cheap. I was sad that I couldn't order more food. I had two beef tacos and a side of rice and beans. I also ordered the trio and the verde sauce was very good.

Seriously. This place is the tits. It's not a classy joint or anything, but the queso is what brings me back over and over. It's on Howard St. in the Old Market. They open at 3:00 M-Sat 5:00 on Sunday. (Which is kinda lame) They also don't do Happy Hour (kinda lame also) but I enjoy coming in at 3:00 when they open for a Modelo and a half order of nachos. The chicken is bland so I usually get the Al Pastor or beef. Again-it's all about the homemade queso that sinks to the bottom and soaks up the chips. Everything is made to order. No frozen crap here. Even the taquitos are made from flour tortillas, stuffed w/ meat, queso, pico and fried to order. They make fresh Jalepeño margies if you ask. They will kick your ass. Any margarita here will kick your ass. Even the frozen strawberry one. You've been warned. The clientele is quite the mix and sometimes odd for the being in the Old Market. I tend to leave before 9:00 with the occasional pop in for late night eats and get it to go. I would like to see them install better seating, so I stick to the bar. I've been coming here since they opened five years ago. It's my go to, backyard joint.

nearly perfect place for cheap late night Mex. the night I went, everything seemed to be $3 - margs, tacos, etc. Art Deco diner-ish feel.

1130pm, Wednesday Night - Drunk Food Time! Stand in line - which is not clear whether I'm in line for beers, food, or just standing there like a dolt. Watch the girl in front of me pick at nacho's that the cook had just finished. The bar tender snapped on the young lady who was eating off nachos destined for another table. He immediately tossed it in the trash and harshly yelled at the young lady. Told he he would toss her out if he saw her do it again. Meanwhile - he was a super awesome bartender who took our order, served us drinks, and had the food out to us in about 5 minutes after we had waited for 10 minutes to order. (It was busy and the only food place open in the Old Market at that time on a Wednesday night). The chicken burrito was pretty good for that time of the night. I'd put it on par with a chipotle burrito. Nothing fancy...rice, beans, and chicken with some pico de gallo. I was a happy customer. The best part was the bottled Coca-Cola....Mexican style as the bartender called it. It was perfect....reminded me of when my Dad bought me sodas in the bottle back in the early 80s!

Ohhh snappppp!!! The freaking margaritas here might be the best I ever had!! Love it...

Didn't try the food. I did however encounter the bathroom, and I smelled like a city bus stop everyone pisses on. Won't be back.

Their veggie burrito is SO good. It's all about the cheese, perfectly crisp cooked veggies and some sour cream. It's loud, busy, the staff will overlook you and let people cut inline (get assertive if you wanna eat here), but the food is worth it. If you're not a party-goer, go before the bars get out. Despise dealing with the local drunks? Go before 8 or 9.

    (4)
  • JC M.

Justin is one of the best bartenders I've ever had. Fun, engaging, knowledgeable. Food was delicious and affordable. Open late which is a huge plus around here. My only wish is for the burritos to be a little bigger. I've had bigger and equally good for this price. If this place could do that it'd be a must visit every opportunity.

  • Lori D.

This has the makings to be a great place, but I should've listened to the reviews. I thought since I came early in the day the service would be better... I was clearly wrong. There's one guy making drinks and one guy cooking. The bartender/waiter/busboy is great and nice and my drink is awesome, however I had to flag the poor busy guy down to get a menu and again to order, which you have to go to the bar to do. No ones coming to your table, trust me. My nachos were cold so I sent them back... The cook had an attitude. They came back room temperature. I'm trying to inhale them before they're cold again. They're delicious but I prefer my food hot. Oh, I wasn't offered any silverware or utensils. Not sure if that's poor service or if they don't have any. People were so disturbed by the service they just left. I should've done the same. So to recap : Drink=awesome but took a long time Food= tasted great but cold

When the place first opened it has great. The last 3-4 times it was terrible. Last time I went the waitress was too busy letting her friends take selfies with the bottles of tequila. Our order wasn't started until 20 minutes after we arrived since the cook was on break. They were out of a lot of things including napkins. They renovated when they took over from the Zios that used to be there, but the place has gone to hell since. It is very rundown for its old market location and its age. It is in one of the safest areas of omaha, but I don't feel real safe in there. The paper just ran a story about an assault in the alley behind it by a customer of the establishment.

I was starving for some good food and stumbled in here a few nights ago. I got some grilled veggie tacos and an 'Albino Cheetah' I usually don't go for corn shelled tacos, but these were great! double shelled so the goodies don't fall out. the Albino cheetah is lots of tequila, some lime, and soda water. It's clear and goes fast. good name for the drink. they also have a decent selection of beers. My favorite menu item is the Taquitos. No longer corn shelled meat cigars, these are akin to smaller chimichangas. A must, now for me

Eat the worm, great tequila and even better food! Their burritos are to die for, what's even better is their great value and especially that they're handmade to order! Oh, get their margarita, it's definitely not for one that likes their drink light!

  • Machelle M.

My husband and I were in town for a long weekend. We stumbled upon this place and fell in love. We are very picky about our tequilas and really appreciated their knowledge and wide selection. The manager and his bar tenders were all so attentive and willing to make conversation when we wanted to. We went back again for food and drinks again the next night. We expected to see a $100+ tab after the food and drinks we had, but it was only half that! Great service, knowledgeable staff, good food, and excellent tequila/drinks! Thanks for the great time!

It was a about the only place downtown at 9:00 at night that wasn't packed to find food before our concert. Should have went hungry. They have nachos, burritos, tacos etc. food is an afterthought. It's a bar. It took forever to order even though there were only two people ahead of us. We ordered chips and salsa, a couple burritos and canned soda. We had to clear off our own table to sit down. The chips were fried on site. They were delicious and were the best part. The burritos were ehhh. The outside was crisped on the griddle so it was good. But the inside was flavorless and all the same mushy texture. My husband was not impressed with his either. The bathrooms were gross. Pure nasty. The vinyl on the seats were falling apart in the booths and cushion falling out. Place just seemed dirty. Not a fan.

It all depends on what your looking for. It is more of a bar then a restaurant. Not sure what happens when this place is packed with drunk people wanting food. The kitchen is a flattop and two or three burners..and one woman.I agree it would be nice if they had fresh salsa ...hell they could probably buy it from one of the Mexican restaurants outside of town where tje Latino population eats

    (3)
  • Jamie B.

Drunk food, that's about all I can say. Questionable crowd, security guy out front. Service was good, helpful guy took our order. Chicken bone found in chicken taco (gross) and they don't make their own hot sauce as most tacqueria type joints do.

  • Erin M.

It seemed like it might be a hidden gem or a greasy dive. The house margarita lacked imagination and had a cheap aftertaste. The guacamole was mixed in a blender from a big bag--not sure where that could even come from. The empanada tasted like very old grease. We left without finishing anything to find a better dinner. I would need to be very drunk to find that food or atmosphere acceptable.

Although I'm not much of a tequila drinker, this place has absolutely great food. I always order either the chicken taquitos or the beef nachos. The queso that drenches these foods is nothing like I've had at any other Mexican-American food establishment and the service is always friendly and quick. The portions are pretty big, especially for the prices which most foods run under 7-9 dollars. I frequent this place on a weekly basis when craving a late night meal which is convenient since they stay open until 3. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a casual and fast meal or a blended margarita!

We were visiting Omaha from Denver, tried Eat The Worm on a recommendation. I can't recall the bartenders name (I blame the memory loss on the Tequila) but he was big guy with glasses, funny socks, and a great imagination. Just tell him what you like and he will mix up a handmade creation that will leave you wanting more. We ordered taquitos and I could not believe it, not just some freezer to fryer cardboard tasting snack, but handmade, stuffed with fresh beef, cheese, and salsa, rolled up goodness! Those little guys were so melt in your mouth great I had to try the Carne Asada burrito. Equally great, I was reminded of the food I loved in San Diego! All In all a great visit to Omaha, nice city with some great people, drinks and food....

  • Justin M.

Bad enough for a first review! I have been here before when they were busy and gave them the benefit of the doubt based on that. Showed up on an evening when there were no excuses and they failed to impress me. The food was lukewarm and had no flavor. There were no other customers there and I watched my food on the grill why is it not cooked properly? This was a night when my two friends and I were the only people waiting for burritos. Completely unacceptable! If you are looking for a quality experience go to south omaha or even dare I say Taco Bell beats this place. This is a sad excuse for mexican and should be avoided at all costs! The star is for the bartender who did not deserve to put up with this mess of a place.

    (1)
  • Matt M.

While the mexican food here may not top the best authentic places in town it is definitely WAY above the standard tacos & nachos you will find at other bars. They are actually making food here not just assembling it. The queso and empanadas are made on site and the meats are seasoned in house and cooked fresh. The staff and service are always great. If you are wandering the Old Market (especially late) and hungry for mexican give em a shot.

Great after midnight eats, fun staff, usually my last stop on the way home from the old market area.

  • Helen D.

We really liked it here. If we lived in Omaha we'd be there ALL the time. I can only speak for the DRINKS (margaritas) because we didn't eat. They were DELICIOUS - we would have sat there & drank all day if we didn't have to go to the next Berkshire Hathaway event at the Nebraska Furniture Mart. The bartender & server were both really nice. We did try to go back Sunday but they were not open until 5pm. We were a little disappointed..... There is NO question that we will totally go back to Eat the Worm next time we are in town. It will be our FIRST STOP!

Ever since I first head about the new occupant to Zio's old space, I've been meaning to try it. And even though I'd heard rave reviews from my friends who close down bars downtown, it really took me a while because this isn't really the kind of place you 'plan on' going to... though I might start. Luckily, this week I was in the area and in need of a quick bite. Little did I know it would also prove to be a very cheap bite! One mahi mahi and one chicken taco to go later, I was only out $5 and it was definitely enough to fill me up for lunch. From the very short (no more than 5 minute) wait I had a brief time to assess my surroundings, and I can say I like what they've done with the old Zio's (though I was pleased to see they kept the floor). I'll definitely head back again sometime when I can have a more leisurely meal, sample my way around the menu, and try some of their extensive tequila selection (which definitely rivals my other favorite, Rivera's). The small corn tortillas, interplay of citrus, savory and spicy is worth a stop if you're in the Old Market in need of a casual meal.

  • Christa Lei S.

Best casual meal. However, since I'm underage-- I don't get to go in after 10 :( Early dinner for me. However, the al pastor here is pretty good. Not a huge fan of their rice and beans, but the al pastor tacos are cooked the right way, and they have amazing white queso dip. Love this place. Wish I had the time to go more often.

Stopped in here the other night on recommendation of a friend. This place, for what it is, is PERFECT. The entire food menu was about $3-6, for great stuff. I had a beef burrito for $4.50, and it was delicious. Smaller than Qdoba or Chipotle, but 10x tastier. You don't need the heft of those larger burritos, anyway. These are made "traditional style" and are absolutely delicious. I'm actually excited to go back and try something else off the super-cheap menu. Two thumbs up.

I wandered into here on a Friday night while I was babysitting my friends by being the sober driver. They were a little hungry so we got some tacos and nachos. A little pricy and not as good as what you can get in South O, but considering the fact that they are downtown and open late it'll do. As far as drunk food gigs in the Old Market go this place is the best. However, the Bartenders were less then friendly... My friend asked the bartender what the specials were, she rather rudely responded, "The usual..." I guess if we had known what the special was we wouldn't have asked. The specials were Margaritas, pass, so my friends decided for whiskey. They asked the bartender what there best whiskey was, she said Jim Beam... I'll mention that they had Gentleman Jack and Knob Creek... Jim Beam isn't your best sweetheart... To make a long story short the drinks were $7 for a little whiskey and a lot of coke. Moral of the Story: Go for the food, don't stay for the bar

Love this place too much! Cheap, delicious Mexican food at a great location. Addicted to the veggie tostada and the taquitos are good too. The Al Pastor taco used to be my fave but it's been very spicy lately - has pineapple in it! Also love the chips. Great when you're drunk downtown but also a unique bar to take out of towners to when needing good drinks and food.

We dropped by Eat The Worm around 5:00 Sunday night. After reading a pretty good review on the Omaha World-Herald, I wanted to try it out for myself. We were the only patrons when we arrived but it was shortly after they opened. You can definitely tell it was the old Zio's building but it was clean well maintained. It was much bigger than I remember though. The waitress/bartender was still in the process of wiping down the many bottles of tequila but promptly offered us menus. The menu was pretty small. They offered tacos, taquitos, nachos, and chips. I probably missed a few items but that was the vast majority of the menu. I ordered two beef taco's and an order of chips and guacamole. The taco's came out pretty quickly and they were similiar to the carne asada taco's that I love at Hector's. They came with two soft shells per taco with cubed beef, guacamole puree, and pico de gallo. I scarfed them down pretty quickly and while they weren't great, they were good and pretty satisfying. I consider it a pretty good deal at $2 each. Unfortunately, they were out of guac for the chips so it also came with guacamole puree which was okay but not the same thing. The server did apologized and said the chips were on her. This definitely isn't a place if you're trying to impress someone but I think it will fit nicely into the downtown restaurant scene. It's open until 2 AM and the tacos are good and cheap. I will definitely drop by again.

Anything with Tequila is a go. as far as drinks-mixed 100 % perfect, prices are above average. Food, any of there food, is above taco bell, and not quite hitting the "Mexican Restaurant" quality. Staff is good. They are friendly. If you life Tequilla, go here, if not seek other venues.

Why I never came here when I actually lived in Omaha, I'll never know. I finally managed to make it in here on a recent trip. Even though it was 11:00 PM, the kitchen was still serving food. There is a huge selection of vegetarian dishes on Eat the Worm's menu. Who knew!? I ended up getting a veggie burrito. It was delicious! Add to it some chips and salsa and a can of PBR and it makes for a great night. The servers here were fast and friendly as well. I'm mad at myself for not enjoying Eat the Worm when I lived here!

Well i was in search of some good Mexican food, and i surfed the web and read all the reviews on Yelp about this place, but wanted to check it out for myself. My two daughters and myself stopped in on a sunday evening around 7 or so and it was real quiet. The bartender/waiter was courteous and did a great job. My oldest daughter ordered two tacos, while my youngest ordered the hot wings. - she orders hot wings everywhere she goes! Shes the hot wing queen and shes only 9. She could rate a hot wing better than Adam Richman (Man vs Food) or Guy Fieri (Diners Drive-ins and Dives). lol So for "Eat the Worm" u recieve an "8". lol I tried one and yes they were good! Now the taco situation! hmmmmm what can i say. It looked like a taco truck taco, and it was a sad piece of food! :( ! We give u a "2"! Now for me, I ordered the Nachos. They looked delicious, but nope they were A-Ok. Not bad, but not good! I will give them a 5 for the nochos. I might go back, but not to for sure. I would tell someone who hasn't been there to go try for themselves. They might like it.

On average I stop by twice a week. I'm either getting some quick and cheap take away or I'm stumbling in completely inebriated at 2am, either way, it's pretty delicious. There aren't many options for take-away in the Old Market and I'm far lazy to drive to South O for authentic tacos, with that said, Eat the Worm definitely fills the void. It's not as authentic as South O but at least its not Taco Bell. I recommend the El Pastor. A heavenly combination of marinated pork and pineapple.

  • Michelle S.

This is a great Mexican place with inexpensive food and GREAT service! The waiter (Kyle) was very knowledgeable about the variety of tequilas that Eat the Worm offers! They offer corn tortillas for the tacos and corn chips for the nachos, making this an option if you have celiac or are eating gluten free. Next time I'm in Omaha, I'm headed here!

  • Neil G.

For a place that caters to a late-night (drunk) crowd, the food is consistently very good and the service is decent. They're open during the day, too. Great for after the bars downtown or just when you're looking for a late-night snack. One of few places open late during the week.

  • Marc M.

3 or even 4 stars are not out of reach for this place had it not been for the very watery cheese dip that came with my chips and an odd pork taco. Mostly flavorless and uninspired. I also ordered two tacos, the Mahi Mahi (fish), and the al Patron. The Fish taco was very good. Worthy of L.A.without question. I mentioned my satisfaction with the cook and he nodded with appreciation. Very tender and well spiced. The al Patron is some sort of pork thing with some pineapple in there somehow. Slightly sweet and spicy. The pork was visibly dry and unimpressive, and the flavor left a lot to be desired. Next time I'll stick with a couple of fish tacos, you really can't go wrong with that. Total bill was $10 for those three items, which i don't think is unreasonable.

  • K G.

Seriously tasty tacos are a bargain and a half for the price. Could do without the crap service - it was an exercise in patience flagging the server down for every... freaking... thing. Turned a 30 minute meal into 1.5 hours of frustration. Other than that, LOVE it! Watch the generic tequila that comes with the meal deal. You can smell the fumes from across the table when they lay it down.

My buddies and I had gone out for a drink, unfortunately Eat the Worm staff wasn't serving you unless you bought the bartender a drink. It was a horrible experience!

Greatest bar food ever..... Great tamales, great tostadas, better than most Mexican restaurants in Omaha NE.....great place to chill at during the week,.... Friday and Saturday too noisy for me, but its a great spot...More people should definitely check them out....

Exactly what the Old Market needed: fast, cheap, delicious food served late. And while it is perfect drunk food, the quality is enough that I've been there a few times sober. As an added bonus, they have a full bar and an impressive selection of tequila and mezcal. The menu is limited, which is just fine as it allows them focus on what they do best. You can get mahi mahi, al pastor, pork, beef, chicken, tofu and veggie tacos. There are also taquitos, burritos and a few dips. The pork al pastor tacos are my favorite (and possibly the best I've had in Omaha). They actually slow roast the pork on a spit like it should be, as opposed to some places that just marinate the meat in orange juice and fry it up. The only problem is that they seem to have run out of al pastor during a couple of visits. All of the tacos are served in the traditional style of double wrapped corn tortillas and are a steal at $2-3. The mahi mahi is good, and if you ask for it spicy, they bring some serious heat. I've heard the regular pork is good as well, with hints of cinnamon, but haven't tried it yet. The wife also vouches for the tofu. The taquitos are a particularly good deal, as they give you two sizable taquitos (cut in half) for $3. Open until 2:00 AM on weekends, I foresee Eat the Worm becoming a permanent fixture in future drinking binges in the Market.

I absolutely LOVE their tacos. They are authentic and delicious! I have also had other food on the menu such as their chips and guac, chicken wings, burrito and taquito. ALL ARE TASTY! It's cheap, fast, and open until 2 am. Can't beat that!

I thought I had good margaritas in the past, but then I discovered the Worm. WOW! Order a hand mixed margarita with your choice of tequila (no pre-mix used here). Fantastic. Top it off with a couple of tacos, the spicy wings, or nachos and you have a great night.

I go here at least once a week. Often to get some food in my stomach before going out; sometimes during the week if I'm too lazy to cook and want a cheap meal. For the price you can't beat the food. This is the cheapest good food I've found living downtown for a year now. The only times I've been a bit disappointed was when I'm in with a group and sit in the back. A couple times now it feels like the wait staff forgot about us and we've often had to go to the bar to order.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
