Honestly the absolute best doughnuts in Omaha. Chocolate covered cream filled is my absolute favorite, and I love playing Jenga everytime I visit! Can't beat the prices either!

Hands down, THE best donuts in Nebraska! The only downside is that they're not always open!

I love donuts, therefore I love Donut Stop. Sometimes the bar scene gets too hectic/routine in downtown Omaha, so why not drive a little south on 13th street and have some laid-back fun. Of course with donuts. What makes this place so great is ridiculously cheap donuts that are delicious. The Bavarian is #1 go to, but I always get the raspberry filled as well. Although the decor is outdated and high schoolers tend to flock here, I do enjoy playing the games even if they are a little rugged, unsanitary with greasy donut fingers, and missing pieces here and there. Also, while most people probably get freaked out by the bathroom decor, I can't help but find the cat-posters plastered on the bathroom walls to add a little touch to the already unique Donut Stop.

Quality donuts made fresh, locally owned and operated, and very polite customer service. It wasn't the fanciest place I've ever been but you came here for donuts so I think they got that right.

**** UPDATE TO HOURS ***** I know that Yelp is saying the Donut Stop is open from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., but this is not true. I just called them and the gentleman I spoke with said their hours are as follows: 8:00 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. and then re-open from 5:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

I felt like I was walking into 1975. Best donuts I've ever found in Omaha. The selection is great and the ambience is very homey.

The Donut Stop is the real deal. I have stopped by on many mornings to get a dozen donuts for the office. Parking is a breeze, probably due to the friendly sign on the door that asks customers to save the closest parking spots for take-out orders. The donuts are crowd pleasers -- not too big, not too greasy, and the chocolate icing is perfect!! The prices can't be beat, either. Credit cards are not accepted, so bring cash. I can't speak to the late night hipster scene, but the morning scene at Donut Stop includes a group of retired men gossiping and surely solving the world's problems. The Donut Stop is a quintessential neighborhood donut shop with some of the best donuts in Omaha.

This little gem of a place is a marvelously cozy place to crash on a Friday night for coffee and a sugar rush. The cream cheese danishes are amazing, especially for $1, and I'm guessing they're all made fresh by the sweet lady who's always behind the counter when I drop by. If you're ever on your way home from a night downtown, swing by 13th street and grab something. You won't regret it.

I don't know what the big fuss is about. I can easily forgive the millions of cats and random weird stuff plastered over the walls. But the donuts themselves weren't anything to rave about. They were actually pretty pricey for donuts. In addition, I left here smelling like a grease trap, literally. It was pretty disgusting. I stripped immediately when I got home, no joke, and dumped my clothes into the washing machine and had a shower otherwise my bed would smell like a grease trap. The place attracts some pretty strange people as well. It's a little sketchy late at night, which is when me and a few friends decided to venture in. But from now on, I am going to do my best to avoid this place.

I'm new to Omaha and was at sokol one night and desprately on the prowl for food i decided to keep going up 13th steet and i thouhgt i was honestly seeing a mirage... A donut store open at like 1:30 AM on a friday night hmmmmm. It had already been one if those long nights at sokol and what i needed most was that nice little old lady to give me a jelly donut and a carton of milk (heavenly). O yeah and i really had to pee so i found the bathroom and uhh its pretty much the coolest thing ever cats! The place is really cheap and they only except cash. Since that night I've gone back to play the back to play the bored games and people watch the hipsters/degenerate Creighton students. Hipsterville! Wish this place was open more days of the week. Actual overhead conversation at donut stop "Creighton boy: are you Lutheran? You look lutheran. Creighton girl: no I'm atheist *smiles* Creighton boy: o" So ya theres some good people watching.

I imagine that if I would have grown up in Omaha, I would have spent a good portion of my teenage years at Donut Stop. I believe they open up at 11PM and are open all through the next morning. Smells like grease, cigarettes (pre smoking ban), and teenage angst. If you are ages 16-21, and don't want to spend Friday nights watching a movies with your parents, I recommend Donut Stop. If you're 21+, come on down after a night at the Sokol and see where all the cool kids are hanging out. Donut Stop is definitely one of the more unique spots in Omaha and worth checking out!

STOP!!!! In the naaaaame of looooooooove, before you breaaaaaak my heart! That's what someone will be singing to me once I break their heart after dumping them for a cream cheese donut from Donut Stop. Have you ever seen The Good Son with Macaulay Culkin? The final scene where the mom is clinging on to both sons over a cliff and must let go of one to save the other? Is it bad that if I was the mom with a D-Stop donut in one hand and a person in the other, I would scarf that donut with both hands with no hesitation?? SOOOOORRY! Do they have rehab centers for people like me?? Bottom line folks, if you are downtown, looking for cheap donuts, this is your place!! But WAIT! If you read on with my review for the next couple of minutes, there is so much more!! D-Stop has been around for yeeeeeeeears and is a staple of 13th street. Unfortunately, it's not on the cool side of 13th street where the Old Market starts so not too many people know of this fried dough heaven. For ease of reading, allow me to list the reasons why I love this place: 1. I live a couple of blocks away so I can have these damn delicious decadent donuts anytime I want! (like my use of alliteration?) 2. If you love cats, there is a nice poster from the 70s on the wall with a nice grid of different cat breeds 3. Oh! This place is not open during the day!! Their hours are like... 6pm - 10am (or whenever they run out for the day) You can bet your bottom dollar that I have walked my drunk A here after some drinks in the Old Market for a great late night sweet snack! 4. Cream cheese donut... CREAM cheese donut... CREAM CHEESE DONUT!! By FAR my favorite thing to get here... Oh and no, I'm not talking about a cream cheese Danish. This donut is actually not a donut... more like a square? But it's a square with gobs of custard? Sweet cream? Not sure what's on it, but whatever it is, it's SOOOO good!!! If it's a first time here, please try this one 5. Cheap as F! The cake donuts are 50 cents... and it goes up from there... you do the math 6. There are tons of board games here so it's a fun alcohol free hangout spot to meet up with your friends to play a game of Risk or Operation while eating a cream cheese donut (seriously you need to try one) 7. This place is owned and run by an a old couple - super nice and super cute. I talk to them every time I come in Now, I need to explain the ordering system if you are going in there to get a dozen or two donuts for work or whatever. First of all it is cash only. If you look at the register and see that it's from 1943, you'll see that they clearly cannot take credit cards. Also, there is a special where you get a dozen for $9.00. But here is the tricky part that you'll need to understand... Your dozen must consist of the following: - 4 donuts - 4 rolls - 4 super rolls Hmmmmm.... Ok... the first time I was there I was so confused because they are all donuts. What's a roll?? And what the H-E-double hockey stick is a super roll???? Not everything is marked and there is no clear division between donut/roll/s-roll unless you've been there before. Of course Mrs. D-stop will help you, but I'll try to help you out so you are prepared. Donut - glazed donuts and cake donuts (the cake donuts are bomb because they have different flavor frostings) Roll - Non filled donuts (long johns, cinnamon donuts, and this weird cinnamon ball thing?? Not sure what it is, and cinnamon twists) Super Roll - filled donuts (with Bavarian cream, custard, jelly), apple fritters, and the CREAM CHEESE DOOOONUUUUT... droooooll Hopefully that will help you when you order your dozen. Of course you can just randomly pick, but you don't get the special price and how often to get to order super rolls! Oh and this place is closed Sunday and Monday which means starting Saturday evening up until they open again Monday evening. So NO late night donuts Saturday and Sunday nights! Remember that on your drunk food runs!!! Also, I'm only giving it four stars because my all time favorite donut store is Bob's Donuts in San Francisco. THAT is a five star donut place but for sure D-stop is close in the running!! PS - I brought these into work and people went crazy - just sayin.... CREAM CHEESE DONUUUUUT! GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!! Ok... I'll stop now.... Get it? Stop.. like donut stop... someone stop me..........................

As an all hours of the day or night truck driver, I would stop into this place on my way into or out of the old railroad yards behind the Durham museum. And since I was driving a truck, the one prerequisite is that it has to be inexpensive because driving didn't pay all that well years ago. The donuts are great, and once I went just for a Bavarian crème filled roll and lamented the fact that they were out of them...alas, the very nice woman behind the counter took a couple of unfilled rolls and juiced them right up. Try getting service like that at dunkin or the sugar refinery secretly disguised as krispy kreme. And what is with the low rating reviews, did these people stumble out o their limo on the way from a Berkshire shareholders meeting and confuse this place with Ruth Cris??? It is what it is and what it is makes me proud to be a life long citizen of Omaha.

This place is a fun place to hang at around midnightish...not the best donuts or coffee but the atmosphere is unique for omaha. The above reviews are spot on.

This place is a classic. Don't come if you're looking for class and a typical Dunkin Donuts type atmosphere, but rather come if you're looking for a very unsophisticated but classic vibe. The donuts and service are good, and they are open basically all night long. There are crazy decorations on the walls and board games to play, and it's a typical hangout after shows at the Sokol or elsewhere.

How have I not written a Donut Stop review yet? This place is classic: super cheap (delicious!) donuts, strong (cheap!) coffee, cat posters all over the walls, people hanging out until all hours of the night, board games, the nice lady who works the counter, etc. Don't come here if you can't handle a little shadiness. It's my favorite place to go after a show with friends to eat and have some good conversations. It's also cash only, so be prepared (although I'm pretty sure the change hiding between your car seats will have you covered).

I love this place. It's open through the night until morning, whereas almost all of the Midwest outside of Chicago thinks "late hours" mean staying open 'til 9pm. Frakk a whole lotta that. This old mafia tax shelter isn't pretty, doesn't smell particularly good and brews bottom-grade coffee in two flavors only: strong and insomniac. Also, as has already been mentioned, the smoking ban bullsh*t really messed with the scene here. Everyone goes and pow-wows outside the door, often sitting on the curb while hanging out for an hour at a time. Anyone with any sense would allow a smoking-only license for some sense of equality, but the healthnazis have even launched an attack on the conservative Midwest. No surprise. The place has a whole list of positives. The donuts taste great. They cost a little less than the spare change in your pocket. The owners and workers are awesome people with an authentic nature to their body language and conversations. The people who hang out there thru the night all make for great conversation. Finally, it's open all night... doesn't close until morning. They also don't open on Sunday and Monday evenings, and don't open until later in the night... but an all night place this cool doesn't come easy anywhere West of Chicago until you hit Denver. If you're stuck in O-town for some painful reason, this is the place to check out! Last time I was there, the only thing I noticed was that there was no WiFi. Other than that, the only thing I'd change in this rickety little mafia shop would be seceding from America and declaring independence in order to bring back smoking. Send that Nazi sentimentality back to Germany where it belongs.

Amazing donuts, board games, and animal-decorated bathrooms definitely mean fun after a drunk night downtown. They are basically open all night, and it's a total mom and pop donut shop. The same woman can be found there nightly and they have been open for years in the same location. Donuts are cheap and can easily be paid for with change.

  • Bob J.

Nasty aftertaste from not-at-all special doughnuts. Coffee pedestrian. Interior scary with clippings of magazine pages featuring cats. Actually the exertior is too. The place looked like a seedy donut shop. It is. I think locals like it but on the basis of the Yelp reviews while we driving cross-country we pulled off the interstate just for this place. Geesh.

DONUT STOP! FUCK YEAH! This place is awesome for all-hours eatin' cruellers and heckling nerdy fucking Jr. High kids dressed as Slayer on a Saturday night. Oh, man! The location of this place rocks, and is always fun after a show at Sokol.

Donut Stop is another one of those places the 18-20 year olds go to hang out in the middle of the night. The coffee is eh, the donuts are pretty good. Prices are low. The hours change regularly. Haven't been here in a few years, since I found better things to do and since the smoking ban went in to effect. 4-starts for nostalgia.

um, i came here to look cool and talk to people. i'm actually allergic to the donuts here 'cause they make it with eggs. i would get chocolate milk here though. playing scrabble is fun. the kitty posters are adorable. i haven't been here since the smoking ban.
