Nice addition to old market, a lot closer to the heart of the old market than bliss is, so as far as location this place is prime. They have quite a variety of cupcakes to choose from when you pop in, and I do like the fact that their hours are dinner time friendly, as in head over here for dessert after your meal at a nearby restaurant. All their flavors sound pretty tempting, and the size of their cupcakes are larger than your average ones. My significant other was a huge fan of the chocolate raspberry cupcake, it was chocolate cake, chocolate icing and had a raspberry filling. I had the apricot almond cupcake, which was an almond cake, apricot filling....and I forget the exact flavor of the icing. I was not such a huge fan, it seemed that almost if not all the cupcakes had fillings in them, so if that's your thing, this is your place. I wish there was a bit less of that personally, but that's just me. Also when it comes to me and cupcakes, icing is a huge deal, and this particular place's icing just doesn't do it for me. It didn't taste like real buttercream, but the stuff I can get from a plastic tub or the kind grocery stores use to decorate their mass produced cakes. Again, just not my preference, but it might be for you. I'd go again due to location, and I think this place is worth a try for those downtown looking for a sweet treat.

Having noted the other reviews, I should preface by saying I like my cupcakes on the light fluffy side, not a heavy cake (a la Jones Bros - which I find dry, heavy, and not my thing). This little corner is a wonderful addition to the Old Market. I usually get chocolate when I go. My husband likes the carrot cake. The cake part itself is always a light and fluffy perfection. I love the moderate amount of frosting - I hate when cupcakes are piled high with frosting. The frosting is just the right amount of sweet, and definitely a lighter buttercream to go with the light texture of their cup cakes. Service has always been spot on, efficient, I can pay with my paypal account (super convenient). I personally think you can't go wrong with this place, but then again, I may have a different preference for cupcakes as compared to the rest of the reviews here! Consider me a repeat customer!

I was walking around the old market for the denied dessert elsewhere when I stumbled onto Cupcake Omaha. I have only tried the boston crème cupcake but it was VERY tasty. great flavor and considering boston cremes are mostly vanilla with vanilla custard that is saying something. place was adorable, people manning the register so nice. everything looked so good. can't WAIT until I get to try the german chocolate! i'm trying to talk myself out of two cupcakes right now. reasonable price for 4 cupcakes love the little plastic carrier vs the usual boxes.

What are these bad reviews talking about?! I had such a good experience and I thought the cupcakes were mouthwatering goodness!!! The guy was knowledgable about all the cupcakes and I loved that most of the cupcakes were cream filled!! I'm from Dallas and we have a "Sprinkles" cupcake there...these cupcakes are 100 x's better! I rather this place over sprinkles any day. The cakes are moist and fluffy (just how cupcakes are supposed to be.) and the frostings were just the right amount of sweetness. I hate places have have very overwhelming sweet frostings. It becomes too much. The shop was super cute and felt so welcoming. I wish this place was in Dallas so I could pay a visit everyday. Great job, cupcake Omaha!!! Your cupcakes are some of the very best that I've ever had!!!

Amazing cupcakes, amazing staff, you cannot go wrong! These men make some seriously delicious stuff - interesting combinations, and it's all done with a flourish. The kitchen is spotlessly clean, which gives me great confidence about the production as well as the final product. They can even fashion propper sized cakes with some notice! LOVE these guys!

A bit pricey for $3.50/cupcake. I bought 2 cupcakes ($7), on a whim one night whilst craving cupcakes on a Saturday night. While I agree with everyone else, definitely better than Jones Bros. for sure, I'm a little shocked at the price. I get it. They're homemade. It's a locally owned small business. But I definitely could have satisfied my cupcake craving from something bought at Hy-Vee. I know, I know, shun the non-cupcake believer! Yes, I'm perfectly fine with a mass produced cupcake from a big box store. #sorrynotsorry I guess I'm just a simple eater when it comes to my cupcakes. The cupcakes were good though, I'm not going to argue about that and butter cream frosting was delicious..I actually never finish the frosting from cupcakes, I usually just lop the entire thing off and have only a bit of it, but I ate all the frosting off this cupcake. Which I guess says something? I didn't care too much for the coarse sugar they sprinkle on top of every cupcake. It's already sweet from the fillings inside and the butter cream frosting. The french vanilla strawberry cupcake filling was bordering on too artificial when I first tasted it, but somehow worked in the end. The classic red velvet filling had me a little confused because the filling tasted kinda odd, like bourbon cream cheese or something. I wasn't too sure what it was. I definitely would be open to trying more cupcakes if they weren't so darn expensive. But, if you're looking for a treat after dinner in the old market, perhaps stop into Cupcake Omaha instead of the usual Ted and Wally's.

Delicious, delicious, delicious. I actually got sugar overload because I ate 3 cupcakes. They are that good. My favorite was chocolate raspberry. I also had the pink champagne and it was excellent. I would also recommend the chocolate peanut butter. Pair your cupcake with some good tea and you will have a decadent dessert you will dream about for days. Get a few friends together and share your cakes so that you can try a bunch of them with less guilt!

This place is a GEM! It's a terrific location for a sweet bite while spending time in the Old Market, and these are the MOISTEST cupcakes I've EVER had! The frosting is to die for, and is just the right amount! This shop is owned by a local cake maker with a huge following in Omaha! Thanks to the newly opened store you can pick up a treat of his, for a fraction of the cost of a full-size cake! Treat yourself today!

Great cupcakes, great service. I make a trip to old market just for them. In my opinion the best cupcakes in omaha and surrounding areas. The variety is awesome and the moistness of the cake and lightness of the icing is great! Most are center filled and the variations of cupcake flavor combinations are impressive. A+!

Folks, this is the real deal. I am a cupcake snob and these are fantastic. They just started their pumpkin cupcake today and it's incredible! I tried two different cupcakes (hard to stop at one) and both were moist with just the right amount of frosting.

First of all, I didn't eat a cupcake here. I had a cannoli, so I can't speak the cupcakes as of yet. If I go back, I'll try one and update. They smelled pretty good though. It's located in the busy Old Market area of Omaha. I think the place gets docked points for customer service. I went here after lunch at Ahmad's and it was empty. The guy behind the counter was on the phone and said to let him know if we had questions, and then walked to a back room. So, a little hard to ask questions about things, if the person is preoccupied and not within your vision. But, we settled on the cannolis. We asked for to go boxes because we weren't eating them right off the bat and there was some miscommunication there (two people needed a box each), but eventually, we sorted it out. Although I felt like the guy at the counter was a little annoyed with us. As we were waiting to pay, a few others walked in, and the phone rang again. I think there was another dude in the back, but the counter guy picked up the phone and started talking about call in orders. I found this kind of rude--I was still standing there, trying to pay and he's distracted by the phone. Don't get me wrong, my dad is a small business owner, so I know how hectic it can be, but I just didn't feel welcomed here. Like I said, I will try it again to try one of the (many!) cupcakes they seemed to have before I write the place off altogether. I really enjoyed our cannolis; I think we paid around ten bucks for three.

I had the cookies & creme cupcake and for the price 3.00 is pretty good for a homemade not store bought shitty cupcake. I attend the institute for culinary arts for baking & pastry so I had to try one of the cupcakes at least one. I thought the cake was a little dry and the frosting was hard due to it being in a refrigerated case. also I found that both types of frosting were overly sweet, which I did not care for. the presentation of the cupcake was simple, I liked the little Oreos on them, I usually break a big one in half and sprinkle some chopped up or the top. in the end i quite enjoyed creme in the middle, it was different not too sweet, there was no caramelisation which is a plus, because I have come across that many times at other said place. cupcake from th

I think I've been here four or five times now. Whenever I'm downtown and want dessert, I head here. The carrot cake cupcake is awesome, the red velvet is awesome, the salted caramel is awesome, etc. As I said before, this place is better than Jones Bros, so make sure to stop by.

Sweet little cupcake place. Our "salted roll" cupcake was great - huge vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream, salted peanuts, and caramel drizzle. The cake was moist and the buttercream was light. I wish we had more time to sample their other cupcakes because they all looked pretty awesome.

A GREAT cupcake place, a lot closer to the heart of the old market than bliss is, so as far as location this place is prime. Right on the corner of 11th and Howard. They have quite a variety of cupcakes to choose from when you pop in, and they have a variety of cupcakes. The day I was there, they had 15 different kinds and each looked better than the next. They are made on the spot by the very sweet proprietor and they truly are exquisite. The size of their cupcakes are larger than your average ones and they really are awesome. I ended up walking out with 3 dozen and if you like cupcakes this is THE spot to go in Omaha.

Bought these for a friend's birthday and she loved them! Apparently better than Jone's Bros. Great location in the heart of Old market. Will definitely be going back!

Nice little shop. Only around 10 types to choose from which is good if you are indecisive! $3.75 a cupcake when I went the other day. Lemon raspberry is my favorite along with cookies and cream!

We visited this place after eating dinner at The Upstream in the old market. We had heard great things and based on the other reviews on here it appears we are in the minority with our rating of this place. We ordered a champagne cupcake and the price was 3.50 The cake was dry and flavorless. I have had boxed cupcakes that were light years ahead of this one. The frosting was also extremely disappointing. Pure sugar and no substance reminiscent of a cheap supermarket cupcake. The actual store location couldn't be worse as it is right beside the tobacconist and the inside of the store smells horrendous. It doesn't make me very hungry when I walk into a bakery and smell cigar smoke. It appears this place jumped on the cupcake bandwagon with no legitimate idea of how to actually bake cupcakes. I am surprised to see the positive reviews given how horrible my experience was. I don't give many 1 star ratings but this is one place to avoid like the plague.

I had the boston cream cake cupcake and it was delicious. The frosting was not to sugary, the cupcake was smooth and fluffy and the filling was excellent. Not sure if I came on a bad day but the selection was a bit limited

My daughter is big fan of cupcakes. She wont pass up this gorgeous place. Very moisture cake and not super sweet and creamy frosting. We enjoyed it.

Best cupcakes in Omaha! Frosting is creamy and delicious, cake filled with a yummy center surprise! Cupcakes aren't dry or difficult to eat unlike jones bros.

Now this is a cupcake!! I stopped in to buy one cupcake to surprise my little girl. Ended up leaving with a four pack, $12. Not bad for the size and detail of the cupcakes. Ordered the Pink Champagne, Almond Joy, Vanilla and Cookies and Cream. There were about 10 flavors to choose from. I'm not crazy about 'cold' cake, and these were on display in a refrigerated case, so I had to let these get to room temperature before diving in. After we all indulged, the consensus was delicious moist cake, and creamy frosting made with quality ingredients. Smiling faces all around. Excellent dessert, and cute little shop. Great location in the Old Market too! And of course I agree with other reviews, WAY better than Jones Bro. Treat yourself, a little cake makes everything better!

Cute little cupcake shop in the old market. It has a nice selection of flavors, but not so many that it's overwhelming and you end up buying a half dozen to try because you can't make up your mind. I went with a group of friends so I got to try the chocolate raspberry, pink champagne, peanut butter chocolate, and salty nutty caramel. All were delicious, but the peanut butter chocolate was probably my favorite (it generally is my favorite dessert flavor combo) and pink champagne was my least, but still good; all of them were. They pack a lot of different flavors into each bite--for most, the cake, cupcake filling, and frosting were all different to yield one tasty cupcake concoction. For people with an extra sweet tooth, they also serve frosting "shots."

This place is not terrible but it is not great either, My husband and I liked the chocolate raspberry, it was almost like a black forest cake with a raspberry twist. Unfortunately, the cake got ruined by the gumdrop candied raspberry on the top. I had the same problem with the pumpkin cake having a candy corn pumpkin on top of it. These sugary candies are something you would see at the bottom of a candy dish, like the candy that people usually don't go for and once all the good candy is picked over they are what is left. Why would you put that on your cupcakes? Both cakes were moist and good but we found their icing to be too heavy and sugary. I cannot imagine going back, I find Jones Bros to be more decadent so I do not foresee myself going out of the way to go to Cupcake Omaha, maybe the next time I'm in the Old Market they may get a second chance.

Definitely the place to go for cupcakes. Most of them have a filling, which I love. The peanut butter chocolate and chocolate raspberry filled are my favorite. Great variety, perfect location, and great atmosphere... They also have coffee. The staff is friendly and willing to answer any questions you have. Their cakes are pretty impressive too.

I love these cupcakes! I was very happy to hear that the owner opened up a cupcake shop in downtown. Great location, and I don't mind the prices, it's good to indulge sometimes. The vanilla cupcake is my favorite.

I was not impressed with this place. I thought the flavors offered were boring and unadventurous. I bought my son a carrot cake cupcake and it was $3.75 which I think is robbery! I won't be going back. I'll buy my cupcakes at Scratch in West Des Moines where they are bigger, tastier and only $2.

Skip it . This is exactly the sort of commercial flavor that makes me question why I don't simply pay a quarter for a home made cupcake at an elementary school bake sale. I was referred here by a local vendor and tried the vanilla cupcake. Perhaps it was not fresh but the cupcake looked very pretty but the taste did not match. Dry cake with goopy pudding filling was not what I was anticipating . I subsequently discarded the rest.

We had the carrot cake and chocolate cupcakes. They were delicious. This is must go to cupcake stop if you are in the old market area. A little pricey for cupcakes but worth it.

Came all the way from Vegas for the holidays and took these to relatives house and they were a hit! Everyone agreed that they were better than Jones Bros. They were so moist you had to eat them with a fork and the frosting was to die for. We got a variety so everyone got to sample them all. Definitely worth the trip!

Cupcake Omaha has the best cupcakes I have ever had! The Almond Joy cupcakes are my favorite, but I can't wait to try all of them. I really enjoy the atmosphere that they bring to the area. I love their shop and the staff is nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. I really enjoyed going there and will go again soon!

Visited Omaha in June for a family reunion. We had some time to kill so we walked around the Old Market area and ended up in this cupcake shop. The Service. No one acknowledged us when we walked in - two people were standing behind the counter -but that's fine the review is not based on the service. It's based on ... The Cupcake. Flavor in question: Chocolate Raspberry cupcake. Overall, too dry, the frosting too sweet and nothing innovative or exciting about it. For starters, the "raspberry" on top of the cake is actually one of those german gummy candies, it's not even real fruit. Secondly, the cake was not even remotely chocolatey enough and because of the dryness it was too crumbly. Then there's, the filling - they could've at least used raspberry preserves from a jar or something with enough texture to resemble actual raspberries but instead it was more like those jelly custards that you use to write "happy birthday" on old fashioned cakes covered with whipped cream.. Lastly, the frosting was a little on the sweet and mass produced side (think Vons/Safeway cakes) but honestly it was the only flavorful part of the cake. At $3.50 a piece and split between 4 people it wasn't worth enough to finish. Save your money.

I did not like the cupcakes here at all. Not good flavor, bad frosting, they call it butter cream but more like confectioners sugar and lard. They put a pudding like filling in the center (at least of the varieties I bought) and it was awful. The strawberry cupcake had a terrible jelly filling and a candy strawberry on top --- very disappointing. I also think they are expensive. You can get delicious and less expensive cupcakes in Omaha -- try Cupcake Island for one.

Best cupcakes...EVER! I get some people don't like a filling in their cupcake, but I'm not one of those people and I LOVE every flavor!!!! If you'e lucky enough to there when the owner is in, you hit the jackpot! You then get to find out why the cupcakes are so so good! This man has passion!!! (Not losing a star over it, but he could use some passionate employees - what's with people acting like they're doing you a favor by taking your money?!) I've also noticed the wedding cakes and was also incredibly impressed! Omaha needed a great bakery - one that is more cake than frosting!! (Hint, hint to Jones.) As for the person who sis not like the candy as a decoration...it wasn't attached to the cupcake. Throw it away. Sheesh! Enjoy this Omaha gem!!!!

I'm watching my sugar intake, so I decided to go with a macaroon and a dark chocolate salted caramel that they keep in jars on the counter. The macaroon had just the right amount of moistness and sweetness; it was like a mini coconut explosion in my mouth. So good. I thought the salt could have been slightly more evenly distributed in the chocolate covered sea salt caramel, there was only a hint of satlness. Stillit was very very very good. They are 2 for $1 which is perfect, if you're watching your diet or sugar intake.

Cute cupcake shop (also offers wedding cakes) in Old Market. The cupcake that my husband and I shared was chocolate flavored with a center of chocolate pudding and vanilla frosting with morsels to top it off. The cake was very moist and the frosting was perfectly sugary sweet. One cupcake was enough for the two of us as it was very satisfying!
