After a "just OK" meal at Block 16 around the corner, I regretted not lunching here instead. Everything we tried here was great! My Italian style cappuccino was spot on for an energetic drive home to Minnesota. It was just so smooooooth and perfectly proportioned. My husband appreciated the Brazil roast French press which he though was served at just the right temperature. We were entranced by the pastry display: brought home a loaf of oat bread (moist, dense perfect for sandwiches), munched on a totally unique goat cheese danish (kudos to the pastry chef for challenging the taste buds!), and dug into the tiny (but big enough to share) coconut and lemon cake for dessert once we arrived home. The coconut cake tasted homemade...but it took way more work than I would have been willing to put into it! Best of all the barista was so earnest, sweet, and excited about the food that we couldn't help share her enthusiasm!

My road trip had us stop by downtown Omaha for some breakfast. To be honest, coming from LA and not really knowing much of middle America, I was expecting pretty standard diners or basic food like that. Coming across Culprit Cafe & Bakery I instantly felt like I was at home. Somewhat hipster-ish and modern. I wasn't familiar with the downtown area so most of the parking I encountered was metered. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich with pesto potatoes, a macchiato, two plain beignets and the frittata sandwich. Amazingly good beignets..chicken pesto was good but nothing to write about. Pesto aioli potatoes were very good!! I wiped some of that sauce off the potatoes onto my sandwich to make it better! Frittata sandwich was my friends, I had a quick bite and it was like a fancy egg benedict. They offer lots of unique juices. Didn't have the chance to sample any but I ordered a macchiato and it was good. I really liked the whole vibe of the place and the food was very good. Didn't think a place like this would exist in Omaha haha! Definitely a good place to check out.

This place could be much better, I have occasionally stopped here at 7:58 a.m in hopes to get a cup of coffee before heading into the office which is right next door. They are sometimes kind of enough to open at 7:58 a.m. but most of the time they just wait and stare at the people waiting outside. I would go here more but their hours just suck and they act like they don't want business. They are never open! Today being another day in which they are not open, its frustrating because I could have attempted to stop elsewhere if I knew that but by the time I got there it was too late. Don't call yourself a coffee shop if you don't open before most people start their day, it kind of defeats the purpose if you open after the morning rush, and if you are just meant to be a lunch spot only then your business plan is silly because the competition that surrounds you greatly defeats you... In the meantime I will go to a coffee shop that is open and give my money to a downtown business that wants it.

This is the best bakery/cafe in Omaha. Everyone working there is always so nice, the chefs in the kitchen always seem so pleased with what they're doing (rightfully so), and there products are absolutely fantastic. The sourdough has the perfect mie, plenty of mismatched gluten spongey holes with a crisp outer crumb. Their cappuccinos are the best I've had in Omaha by far.

Culprit is one of my top five favorite businesses in Omaha. It's classy, casual and in is helping 16th Street - a former prime downtown Omaha location - become a citywide destination once again. Oh, and pretty much every single item on the menu is incredible. From the house-made baked goods to the artisanal coffee drinks, you're paying very reasonable prices for excellent quality. Not only that, but there's an extensive breakfast and lunch menu. My favorite part is the open kitchen where can watch your food being prepped and cooked right in front of you, if you so desire. Who else does that? If you're downtown and want a fantastic spot for coffee, breakfast and/or lunch, Culprit is the place.

I was so excited about my meal that I picked up my phone and started this review while still eating. Culprit is a really open and sprawling coffee shop/ cafe that has a reputation of great specialty coffee and an equally legit menu. The decor is wonderful. Open, clean and Classic-I love the contrast of industrial materials and wood. I feel very welcome here and cozy..AND the heat is pumped up which is awesome for this cold weather. I ordered my open faced veggie sandwich with a side of the pesto potatoes- no soup offered as a side when you order lunch at 10am. The pesto potatoes are freaking amazing. It's one of the best things I've eaten in recently history. Crisp, pan fried homestyle potatoes tossed in an equally stimulating pesto oil crack that gives a satisfying crunch when you bite in. They also give a heavy serving of potatoes that sharing is ideal...but I was alone so I just ate it all myself. The open faced veggie is a crowd favorite and I now understand why. The bread... with finely sliced zucchini.... with a curry smear and the fried eggplant is a top notch choice. Add in cheese and the tomato and you're in for a real treat. Heavenly. It kind of reminds me of a veggie lasagna or pizza-not sure which; but it certainly has a flair of it's own. Please come here and eat this. Now.

I came here for lunch after Block 16 was too busy to grab a table. I am so glad we stumbled here instead! Tucked away on the corner of 15th and Farnam, this little cafe is a hidden gem. Stocked with delicious looking treats, coffees, and lunch items, the cafe was super welcoming. I was deciding between the open veggie sandwich and the pesto chicken sandwich so I asked the guy who rang me up. He said that the veggie sandwich was one of the most popular items so I went with it. It did not disappoint. A piece of toasted french bread was the bottom and on top lay eggplant, grilled zucchini, tomatoes, and fried zucchini. I think there was even a layer of hummus. Super tasty. All lunch orders come side a side and I picked the pesto potatoes. Um yummmm. The atmosphere was nice and quiet- a perfect place to have lunch with a friend or to read a newspaper and study. I'll definitely be back!

The sandwiches may not have appealed to me, but I do enjoy their baked goods. I don't think it's fair to not include the bakery aspect of this place. The very berry scone is quite decilious and so is the carrot cake (with buttercream topped with caramel sauce.)

From the perfect cappuccino to a great hummus plate, Culprit Cafe stole my heart a little bit during a recent visit to Omaha. This place is Cozy with a capital C, and I could easily work here for a few hours. In fact, that's exactly what happened. The friendly staff and the jazz music won me over right away... it's always a relief when some good music is happening vs. the typical "coffeehouse playlist." The hummus plate was a perfect lunch... it featured red pepper curry hummus, rustic bread, green onion, and tomato. The chef was kind enough to throw some cucumber on there as well to up the health factor for me. It was all so good! I had a perfectly small cappuccino afterwards, and left more than satisfied. I'll be back on my next visit to try one of their sandwiches. Culprit Cafe, you're alright with me.

3 stars for the food. My ham, swiss and frittata sandwich was super salty. 5 stars for the coffee. I'm An unashamed coffee snob from Seattle and the pour-over here is excellent. They know when to use a light roast.

Best café/bakery in Omaha. I've tried almost everything on the menu and have loved every bite!

Amazing place. Staff very nice. Music and atmosphere is very nice. Delicious frittatas and great beignet. Coffee is the best part. On the way out we picked avocado croissant. Haven't tried it yet but I'm excited!

  • Lola S.

This place is wonderful both the coffee and the food--but I often find myself going to Starbucks because of their hours--8am is rather late for a coffee shop to open. This photo is a slow pour and a ham & egg white frittata. If you don't have to get to work, give this place a try.

    (3)
  • Sara B.

The coffee drinks were tasty. The frittata sandwiches were good. A little heavy on the dill. HUGE bummer is that it was like walking into an old smokey bar. Such bad ventilation so we all left with the smell of grease stuck in our clothes.

  • Anthony A.

Good spot for a variety of coffees and casual breakfast with a nice pastry selection, wish they had a bit more in the breakfast/breakfast sandwich selection though. Definitely going back to try some different things.

Macchiato in a tiny cup drank without any sugar, deep fried potatoes balanced out with tangy aioli, and a chicken pesto in a rustic bread. This is a great place to absorb your inner hipster, unlike the neighboring Block 16 with 30min wait, and a line going out of the door and beyond. So what that they have incredible food worth the wait? At least I can sit down here sipping my tiny coffee, eating my sandwich, and stare down at all those B16sheeps

Culprit is one of my favorite coffee houses in Omaha. It's pretty close and always friendly. I like my shops to be local and good. If Culprit had a delivery system I would be so lucky. As it standsnow, I can pop in and crab really good cup and they usually have some Vegan items that Wifle can munch on. I have met the owner and although his name escapes me, it's nice to meet who is benefiting from my patronage. TL;DR: Good local shop and vegan options downtown

  • Jenn B.

Had the smoke ham and Gruyere sandwich because they were out of most breakfast items. Which I appreciate because that means it's all fresh. It was a busy day because of the NCAA tournament, too. Lots of smoke flavor on the sandwich and its an open kitchen so you watch your food being made. Also a plus! Great cappuccino although pretty small. Only cost $2.65 though so there's that! Def a good spot to relax. Lots of natural light

Rude service. Yesterday, I would have left a 5 star review, but today I want to leave no stars. No amount of good food can excuse the service I received. After ordering a wet cappuccino - meaning small frothy bubbles but still all foam, as cappuccinos always are served - I received a latte. There was a quarter inch of foam. I asked the barista for another, explaining that I wanted all foam, just small bubbles, realizing there had just been a misunderstanding. She made me another that came out just the same. I was disappointed, as I had been looking forward to a cappuccino, but didn't bother asking for another. After sitting and waiting for my food, I heard, loud and clear, another barista talking about me using the words "maybe she worked at Starbucks", and being generally judging and unkind. First of all, I worked with the tradition Italian ristretto method for years then worked in a New York City French restaurant, both places of which took great pride in their frothy cappuccinos. Also, to those who have worked at Starbucks and take pride in their work, it's not fair to have your coffee knowledge judged either. I do not live here, but if I did, I'm not sure I could return, no matter how good the food. You don't insult someone's intelligence and get away with it. The stars they received are for the great food-pesto potatoes, harvest salad, beignets (though don't expect what you get in New Orleans, it's just different). The frittata sandwich was amazing too. The coffee they serve from Broadway Roasting Company in Kansas City, MO, is phenomenal. The atmosphere is nice and comfortable but not too pretentious either. It's placement is nice for this's staying in hotels downtown, as there's not a lot going on outside of the old market area.

Loved the Culprit. The best Beignet I've had, it was warm and crispy with a yummy berry cheesy center. The spinach salad and chicken pesto sandwich with pesto potatoes were lovely. The dressing on the spinach salad was something If not had before, loved the crunch of the bits as well.

I'm just a little bit in love with this place. Organic, fresh, quality, flavorful are a few ways I would describe the ambiance and the food. I had the hazelnut milk latte, no extra sugar added :), with the Egg White Frittata Sandwich that has dill which added a unique flair to the typical breakfast sandwich. Looking forward to walking by here soon and trying the french toast, that has come highly recommended.

The coffee here is outstanding! It's one of the few places in Omaha to get specialty coffee! They use Broadway Roasters out of Kansas City for all of their coffee, which is a plus for me, being a Kansas City native. The baked goods are also delicious! If you've ever been to Amsterdam Falafel, they make all of the pitas at Culprit. My one issue here, and what keeps it from being 5 stars is the fact that there seems to be no outlets. If you come here wanting to study, I hope you have a full battery, because there are ZERO outlets to be found! However, the food and coffee are top notch, so charge your battery before you leave home and give it a shot!

Great bevs great breakfast. The only downside is it was super smoky inside like the ventilation wasn't working. I can't stand leaving a cafe smelling like a grease trap!

Very cute and interesting pastries. Had a lavender encrusted walnut pastry and a very good cheery cheesecake

Two words: pesto potatoes! They are absolutely phenomenal and my favorite potatoes in Omaha. I like to get them as a side with the vegetarian bahn-mi which is also delicious. I want to try the beignets and kombucha but they are sold out by the time I get there around 11am on Saturdays. (I don't work downtown so this is the only day I can visit them.) If you want things they make in limited quantities each day I recommend getting there early! I wish they were open nights and Sundays so I could eat there more often!

Delicious food, desserts, and coffee. Took home a bag of coffee, really enjoying it. Only open til 3pm I think. Beet salad and French toast have been my favorite dishes, the ham and egg white frittata sandwich is really good too.

Perfect lunch spot! All of the food is delicious, but I especially love their soups. I was never much of a soup eater before, but I've officially turned soup-obsessed. And, they have a new, creative soup basically every day. And the pesto potatoes are incredible (though, very filling!). I also really appreciate the décor, which has sort of a European café feel to it.

Downtown Omaha is becoming speckled with one-of-a-kind eateries, Culprit included. On a post-work visit, I enjoyed a large (huge), delicious cinnamon roll ($4) and a cup of coffee ($3) at a stool at a table along the front window. The service was great, the staff friendly and knowledgeable. This isn't a place for a bargain pastry and cup of Joe; the cool ambiance and intimate nature of the space more than make up for that, though. There is a sophistication to Culprit. Coffee is taken seriously; baked goods are done right and are well worth the indulgence (both in cost and calories). They serve lunch, too. Back in the day this area of town--16th & Farnam--was hopping. With Block 16 just spaces away, it's nice to see a transformation happening. However, progress may be slow; there is still much loitering in the area and vacant spaces to fill. I'll return to Culprit for sure, especially for a cannoli!

Before the class started, I decided to grab a cup of coffee to see what this place was all about...I had a slow roast that the guy said was good for those of us who don't want something dark and heavy...I liked it but I also use lots of sugar and cream so my judgement may be a bit off lol...however, everyone I encountered here was friendly and knew what they were talking about and they appeared to have a rather decent food menu that I'll have to come in and try one day...it's also a great place to sit and drink coffee and watch people drive on the sidewalk...saw three of these knuckleheads in the couple hours I was there...frightening...

I basically felt the need to sign up for Yelp to review two insanely good places in Omaha, one of which is Culprit. And boy is it worth it. I first felt propelled to visit Culprit when one of my co-workers, a coffee connoisseur, proclaimed that they are one of the few coffee shops that knows how to make a cappuccino right and their spinach feta scones are to die for. She was definitely right. Culprit has quickly become my go-to espresso and breakfast stop. Their coffee is amazing in whatever form you get it in, and they even make coffee syrups in-house (with insanely cool flavors like mexican mocha and cardamon date). To balance my caffeine addiction with proper nutrition and hydration, I usually get a cappuccino and their juice of the day when I go in. This brings me to my next point, which is GET THE JUICE OF THE DAY. EARLY. Everyday they fresh-press a new juice combo, but its a limited supply, so make sure to stop in before the lunch rush. It will be worth it. As for their food, it is amazing. I have had both of their breakfast sandwiches (so good), their raspberry white chocolate scone (the best scone I've ever had), their french toast (a seasonal special) and also their Hong Kong toast, which might be the most delicious breakfast I've ever had. Not to mention, everything is made by order by the chef right in front of you (who will most likely know your name by the third time you stop in). Culprit is one of the few places in Omaha that is able to execute true culinary artistry in a casual atmosphere without breaking the bank. Not only are their food, drinks, and pastries delicious, but they are also innovative, ever-changing, and consistently worth the money. The people who work at Culprit are the cherry on top, as their incredibly high skill matches their exceptional hospitality.

We were in town and wandering around for a good little brunch place. This was one that was highly rated so we decided to check it out, and I'm so glad we did! I had a Banh Mi sandwich which had tofu, veggies, Sriracha, mint and cilantro. It was delicious and fresh. I also had the sweet potato, leek soup which was sweet and slightly oniony. The coffee was delicious as well! They create their syrups themselves and are very unique. I had a cool hand latte, which was just baristas flavor choice. I had a red hot latte with actual red hot candies in it. Amazing. Casual and relaxed feel to the place, and the baristas were friendly. I left full and satisfied!

A wonderful new(ish) addition to downtown Omaha and particularly, a place where I can trust I'm going to get good coffee. As someone who isn't strictly vegan but both enjoys vegan food and has friends who are vegan, I really enjoy that Culprit has committed to always having a vegan baked good option (at least one) on a given day. I've personally tried the peanut butter cookie and it was outstanding! The only downside, as others have said, is their lack of outlets. A bummer since it's such a large, open, inviting space where I would think people would want to hang out for an extended period of time.

Culprit is just around the corner from my office and I pop in weekly. I can't say enough about what Luke does with a simple menu and quality ingredients. The Open-faced Veggie Sandwich is my favorite, but you really can't go wrong. There are always new pastries, specials, and little surprises (like home made marshmallows or a crepe special.) The daily soups are consistently innovative and tasty. I usually get on of the many sandwiches and soup. Then, I take a loaf of rye bread home with me and some home made blueberry jam. The staff are all fantastic even when it is crazy busy at lunch occasionally. Best soup, salad, sandwich cafe in Omaha - they have the best of healthy, home-style comfort food in town.

In town visiting and wanted great coffee. They carry a local roaster and offer tasty baked goods and lunch too! The Bahn Mi with pork belly was delicious....made to order beignets are a treat too. At Culprit they know what they are doing. :)

Charming café/lunch spot downtown. It's great for meetings over coffee or lunch. The food is always really good and they have both healthy and not-so-healthy (but yummy!) options, so I always find what I'm in the mood for. I work nearby, so I often use off-site meetings as an excuse to go there. Highly recommended! I just wish they had outdoor seating!

Cute, new cafe that opened up in downtown Omaha. Went in the afternoon and only a few other people there. Tried the eclair, and a bowl of Mediterranean vegan soup and an iced vanilla latte. Everything was good. Soup had a great Indian flavor, but could have been a little warmer and would have been nice if it was served with some of their fresh baked bread. Sampled the sourdough bread, but prefer sourdoughs that have a strong sourdough flavor. I will be back to try other items on the menu. Nice to see this place open up in this location!

    - great coffee - great bread. Drunkernickle Rye was my favorite - food is pretty good. The sandwiches were alright. The pesto potatoes were great though. I usually go here for lunch when the crowd at Block 16 is too overwhelming. - the location is good; b

Ordered the Tuscan Chicken sandwich with a side of Pesto Potatoes. The sandwich was quite tasty, but the potatoes were insanely delicious...redolent with garlic, perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Looking forward to a return visit.

We really enjoyed this new spot downtown for brunch. I got one of the flavored beignets, berry and Brie, and it was delicious. My husband got the egg white frittata with ham and he also loved it. I cannot recall what my brother and sister-in-law got but everyone really enjoyed their meals. I also got a chocolate eclair for the kids. Everything was made to order with the exception of the eclair so it was fresh and hot when it came out. A couple of us enjoyed some vanilla lattes as well and they were wonderful. They weren't heavy and sugary like the lattes you get at some other coffee places around town. Prices were also very reasonable, for two meals, an éclair and a latte, we only spent $18. I recommend checking this place out if you're in the downtown area and looking for a good place for breakfast or lunch.

Hairy Muffin Crave Okay, here goes. I've debated about whether to share this via social media, but since the point of these types of things is to make customer service (and the stores/cafes/shops themselves) better, here goes: I went into Culprit Cafe on the advice of my boss--who loves coffee and local businesses. A huge supporter of small businesses myself, I thought, let's give it a try. It was Berkshire Hathaway Saturday 2014 and after the Century Link festivities, we cruised to CC. I got a coffee and an egg white omelet sandwich for myself and a blueberry muffin for my boyfriend. My food was fine. No problem. The issue was with my boyfriend's muffin. As he started to eat it, he noticed a hair--which was tangled among the blueberries. Horrified, I took the muffin (with the hair) up to the Batista and discreetly told him the story. Not sure what to do, I waited for his response. And here's where I have the issue. The Barista was skeptical, like I had planted it. And rather than apologize profusely and bend over backwards to fix it, he simply said, "Well, do you want another?" Meaning do I want a substitute muffin? Ummm....do I want a muffin with more hair in it? Absolutely not.

I dropped into culprit for a quick bite after church - for a cafe, I was really impressed by the open kitchen and bar seating that let you watch the chef at work or get a great view of the street while sipping your morning coffee. Great atmosphere and engaging, friendly staff. I ordered an Americano (habit) and the beignet special (stuffed with goat cheese and raspberry jam). Imagine the goodness of brie and jam on crackers, add in some melted and fried goodness, and round it out with just a hint of horseradish - that was the amazing mix of flavors that made my morning awesome. Will definitely repeat, and am pretty excited to try their french toast. Definite benchmark for the ideal neighborhood cafe.

I popped in for a quick lunch the other day. I just happened to be in Omaha for work and was leaving that afternoon, so I figured I would go check the local scene real quick. I stopped by Culprit initially for a cup of coffee. It was FREEZING! I just got a regular cup of coffee. It was good! I don't know what kind of beans they used, or what the dude slipped into the drink, but it was a great cup of coffee! So I decided to get something to eat. The guy working the register and counter recommended the Pesto Chicken and Spinach sandwich. Good damn choice! It was super tasty and the spinach was excellent. Not bitter like you get at some places, but sweet and well cooked. The chicken was superb and there's not much more I could say about that! I got the Aioli Potatoes as my side. Very good! I'm not real familiar with Aioli on stuff, but I really liked it. All in all, this was an excellent lunch. Next time I'm in Omaha, I'll have to pop back in here!

Delicious all around. I had a sandwich combo here (turkey sandwich with a side salad). Both were phenomenal. I will be going back ASAP because I was too late in the day to get a juice. For a drink, full sandwich and side salad, in came up to just under $12. I sat at a window seat and really enjoyed "people watching" as well. Bravo culprit! You've won me over!

I am going Culprit 4 stars, ONLY b/c there is not any outdoor seating yet... I have had lunch there twice now and slam sunk every time! Today I had the sandwich special, roasted chicken with feta and mushrooms and Tzichi (sp?) sauce. Served with the side salad...once agin I wish I didn't eat both halves of my sandwich and again scarfed it down! The delicious local made bread was perfect with the seasoned roasted chicken breast and the creamy feta spread yumminess! The bf ordered the Tuscan turkey sandwich which was far from Dry as a lot of sliced turkey can be. He tried the pesto potatoes, delicious and even better dipped in my Tzitchi (sp?) sauce! Their sandwiches are off the charts for a little cafe- kiss your lame jimmy johns goodbye! This is definitely better bang for your buck.

I had been looking forward to this place opening up since I live right across the street and stopped in just before 4 to pick up some fresh baked bread that they do daily that's ready at 3pm. I picked up a loaf of sourdough for $4 and, well, it wasn't quite what I expected. At first I was really excited because the loaf was still warm and freshly baked as promised, but when I got home and cut a slice I found it to be dense with a tight crumb and the sourdough flavor was very mild for me. I was expecting something more airy and chewy like a traditional San Francisco sourdough so I'm not sure if my expectations were off or if they didn't quite nail it. I'll give them another try with a different loaf but I probably wouldn't buy the sourdough again.

I am a bigger fan of the coffee then the baked goods. On my 3 trips, I have tried out a couple of the breads, iced coffees, juices and a muffin, but the one item that will keep me coming back is the wonderful iced coffee. It really is like nothing I have had before. Complex, with lots of different notes but this isn't a flavored coffee blend. All the different days of extracts have their own charms, but the 1 day extract is a good place to start. The daily juice is also wonderful, very fresh, and the varieties have been interesting with my favorite being the carrot, apple and ginger juice. They have a good variety of breads, with the older days bread for a discount price and the new loaves available at 3pm. The rustic loaf is my favorite so far, nice crust and it cries out to be dunked in some soup. They have already raised the price of the muffin from $2.50 to $3.00 which seems kinda steep for a fairly standard muffin. I have also heard good things about the beignets but still need to try them out. Overall a very nice addition to the downtown area.

So, since my last review I have been back twice and had amazing service. Culprit has upped their service game and I couldn't be happier. This is hands down one of my favorite places to eat. I enjoy it a bit more than Kitchen Table. I just find the flavors to be a bit more balanced and savory, plus the selection of sweets and coffee just knocks it over the top for me, but it is so close. I love Culprit so much. Can't wait to bring in office treats for my coworkers.

Friendly workers, chill atmosphere with relaxing music, great food + coffee + dessert. I got the frittata, French press, and chocolate almond tart. Great place!

I visited Culprit Cafe & Bakery this morning and got to have a long chat with owner, Luke, whilst having my breakfast and espresso. Very inviting shop, great location for morning breakfast and business lunch. Coffee /espresso was presented well and tasted great. Using Broadway Coffee out of KC,MO. pleased to see a "flat white" on the menu! I had the breakfast frittata and it the flavor was wonderfully balanced. I also took some fresh out of the oven granola, a pear and goat cheese scone and a lemon poppy seed muffin to go. All were extremely tasty. If you live in Omaha - go and support a local business owner and fine baker.

A big coffee shop in downtown Omaha provides a variety of coffee options and baked goods. Service was efficient though the place lacked some atmosphere. It was functional more than friendly or even cozy. Large groups are easily accommodated here and they have free wifi. We had the slow brew coffee and it was exactly what I expected: smooth and sultry. They use Broadway Beans from Kansas City (a personal favorite of mine) and can do drip as well as pour overs and Chemex. Didn't partake of the baked goods but the looked great and I'll try them again on my next visit for sure.

I've only been once, but I will definitely return. The clerk was very sweet asking if she could explain anything from the menu. I asked, "What would you say are your healthier options?" I ended up going with the Open Faced Veggie sandwich with a side salad. They were able to grill the eggplant to make it healthier. Also on the sandwich, it had zucchini, roasted tomatoes, and hummus. The sandwich had a great flavor, and the side salad was simple but yummy. My friend and I chose it because it was close to the Orpheum. We had lunch at 1ish and then made it to the 2pm Sunday matinee. Glad we found it!

Coffee: you will truly find none better. From the bean selection to the methods to the execution. Try a Kenyan in the Chemex "slow pour"; you'll never go to that place from Seattle again. Baked Goods: we are in a "cupcake wars" Cinnabon-laden culture used to being assaulted with sugar. What they do here is pure old-world artistry. Complex and flavorful little single serving masterpieces. I'm in NO way affiliated. I'm in town on travel for work, and happened by this place and am SO glad I did. It's been my haunt for a month, I've gotten to know the owner and grown to admire and respect his work. Stop in. Try it. You'll really like it. I promise.

Inexpensive, high quality ingredients and service. The menu is limited but everything I had exceeded expectations. The pesto potatoes, mixed green salad, and an amazing egg, bacon, and asparagus breakfast sandwich!

Soooo bummed. Coffee and food were disappointing. The Quinoa salad side choice was sad, soup was flavorless, and the Veggie open face sandwich was soggy vegetables on soggy bread with fried (flavorless, again) eggplant on top. I really appreciate the effort of being an urban coffee shop with a simple menu and good bakery items.... But the quality is questionable.

This is now one of my favorite restaurants. I have only been here twice but between myself and my husband ordering, I have gotten to sample quite a few things. On our first visit we had the spinach and feta scone, open faced veggie sandwich, and mushroom soup. We also had quick press coffees with the mexican mocha syrup. The curry hummus on the open faced veggie sandwich is delicious! The soup was perfect and the coffee was great, very flavorful and definitely different than your average cup that you make at home. We went back again yesterday and had the egg white dill frittata sandwich and the open faced veggie again. This time we got the pesto potatoes and sweet potato soup as sides. Wow, both were fantastic! We also bought a loaf of the drunkernickel rye and the sourdough to take home. One of my favorite things about this restaurant, besides the food, is the atmosphere. It is very spacious and I love the jazz music that plays quietly in the background. It is such a comfortable restaurant. I plan on coming here at least 3 times a month! I can't wait to try some of the desserts and the french toast.

This place is fantastic. The first time I went I was skeptical because I am a Starbucks addict, but the first sip of their latte made up my mind. This is now my morning go-to for coffee and lattes. I am finally writing a review because I gave in and got a muffin this morning too, and they blew me away again. The Blueberry Almond is fantastic, and the service is great. They are cheerful and remember faces. I hope everyone in the area pops by to see it; we really need more shops and cafes like this on 16th. Hopefully it lasts because I will keep coming back as long as it is there.

Tried their coffee for the first time. Excellent brew and very friendly staff. The prices are much better than Starbucks. This cafe is a great addition to downtown Omaha. Did I mention fresh baked bread everyday at 3:00PM

Yum- you really need to give this place a try! In a nutshell, the food is great (especially the fresh bread), the atmosphere is low-key yet classy, and the location is very convenient for anyone who is in the downtown/Old Market area. I don't drink coffee (wah-wah), but I hear theirs is very good, and the beverage menu looks great.

Great addition to 16th Street! The lattes are great and half the price of Starbucks. I have tried some of their breads which are great and also their muffins are a nice treat. My favorite is the banana chocolate chip muffin. Great atmosphere with a friendly staff. They also have a small lunch menu with daily specials.

This place is wonderful both the coffee and the food--but I often find myself going to Starbucks because of their hours--8am is rather late for a coffee shop to open. This photo is a slow pour and a ham & egg white frittata. If you don't have to get to work, give this place a try.

The coffee drinks were tasty. The frittata sandwiches were good. A little heavy on the dill. HUGE bummer is that it was like walking into an old smokey bar. Such bad ventilation so we all left with the smell of grease stuck in our clothes.

I promise.

Thoughtful crafted sandwiches with all organic ingredients at reasonable prices. Lattes were very good. I'd come back if in the area.

Great bevs great breakfast. The only downside is it was super smoky inside like the ventilation wasn't working. I can't stand leaving a cafe smelling like a grease trap!
