I had a wonderful time staying here for four nights in the Garden room. The hostess and owner Julie is very charming and welcoming, and the house itself is a trip! Ok, for me, it was a little bit like getting to sleep in the Haunted Mansion at Disneyworld. In a very good way! Sans cobwebs and ghosts. My room came to feel like a home away from home. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, for sleeping, reading and watching tv. I wrote and ate meals of restaurant leftovers at the desk. The bathroom was spacious and private. Not a lot of pressure in the shower, but it was adequate. The best part was breakfast! Not just the food, although Julie's egg soufflé and French toast were as good as other reviews had led me to hope for. The company is the real fun of staying at a B&b. leisurely weekend breakfasts with fascinating conversations, new friends from different places...it's so much more fun than grabbing a nasty muffin at an "express" hotel breakfast bar. Omaha is not a walking town, it seems, but I was able to walk to restaurants, cool vintage shops, yoga, and even the Joslyn art museum. To visit the Old Market and riverfront, it was easy to take the #2 bus. I'm so glad I chose to stay here! It made my trip to Omaha unforgettable.

My wife and I stayed here on the night of our wedding and it was a great experience. We had our wedding at the Joslyn Castle, which is right across the street. It's a very nice kept, little bed and Breakfast in the heart of Omaha. My wife and I stayed in the Charles Suite and it was a great experience. The Charles Suite is the best and most spacious room in the mansion and it was definitely worth the little extra money. The room is decorated in 19th century decor and looks great. Everything was nice and clean as well. The breakfast and the service were both top notch and everyone was just so friendly. My wife and I have been kicking around the idea of going back on one of our anniversaries and spending a day or two there. For a nice, cozy bed and breakfast, I highly recommend this place.

Romantic weekend getaway. My partner and I stayed on a Saturday night. We stayed in the fireside room. This was one of the best bed and breakfasts I have ever had the privilege of staying at. Julie knew so much about the house. I had done some research about the history of the house before we stayed and she was able to fill in the gaps. Breakfast was a French toast bake and it was heavenly. We will have to stay here once in a while to enjoy the amazing house and hospitality. Thank you for a great weekend!

Two couples in town for the Berkshire Hathaway event. An earlier reviewer likened the experience to staying at the Disney Haunted Mansion without the cobwebs and ghosts. I agree with her assessment although not with her enthusiasm. First the positives---the rooms were spacious, beds were clean and comfortable, and the decor was interesting. The first floor rooms of the house were the most welcoming. My husband and I stayed in the Charles Room on the third floor and the mahogany woodwork in the room was absolutely spectacular and almost worth the visit. Now the negatives---because the mansion continues to age, everything we touched seemed to be deteriorating, appeared shabby (and I do not mean shabby chic), and was fragile. Our bathroom was private, but located around the corner from our room. The shower faucet came off in our hands, the lock on the bathroom door did the same. There were no niceties provided---no sweetly scented soaps, shampoos, or lotions, no hairdryer or robe. The sample shampoo provided in our bath was half full. I cannot comment on the breakfast because the hostess notified us upon arrival that she was not planning a Saturday morning meal because most of the guests were leaving early for the Berkshire event. There was fruit, muffins, pastries, and coffee available for a grab and go. Although we provided our flight info for Sunday, breakfast was not served before we had to exit (we were invited to have a yogurt). This review may have been better had the hostess offered to arise earlier and provide a hot breakfast before we departed. We felt that she was indifferent to our comfort. We've stayed at many B&B's in the U.S. and Europe. I'm ambivalent about staying at the Cornerstone again. Given a choice, I would probably opt for a different experience.

We absolutely loved staying at the Cornerstone Mansion. We were passing through Omaha on a massive road trip (CO to FL) with our two children (2 and 4.5) and had the good fortune to find this place on RoadTrippers.com While we only stayed one day I have to say our experience impressed upon me that it would be an excellent place to be for a decent period of time. The room we stayed in was on the top floor and had a claw foot tub IN THE ROOM. Let me tell you, that was the first thing the kids wanted to do as soon as we got in. There were several other rooms occupied in the building, so it was fairly full, but our room remained quiet and cool. The history of the building and how it was built probably has something to do with that - make sure to ask the proprietor to tell you all about the mansion's past! Waking up well rested and happy (a rare occasion with 2 kids on a road trip) we found out that the best was yet to come. Just next door was a huge property that you could go through on a morning stroll and coming back from that we were treated to a fantastic home-made breakfast by one of the proprietors. And since breakfast was served at the same time for everyone around a large dining room table we had the chance to get to know several of the other folks staying there. All in all it was a wonderful experience and we would DEFINITELY recommend staying at the Cornerstone Mansion for a few nights.
