Recently we spent some time drinking wine and snacking on meat, cheese and bread on a Sunday afternoon. Had the weather been a little less blustery the patio would have been a nice option, but we were still comfortable indoors. Bottles under $25 incur a $5 corking fee, if enjoyed on site (I think that was it). Overall a pretty good time.

We used Corkscrew Wine & Cheese to host my sister's baby shower and couldn't have asked for a better venue. Corkscrew was very accommodating and allowed us to bring in our own decorations and desserts. We ordered the cheese and fruit tray, both which were delicious. They also had a nice wine selection to accommodate our French theme. Kudos to our server, Willy! He helped us rearrange tables and was fantastic to work with!

What a fantastic place. I've been here many times and the service is always impeccable. The wine selection is great, ranging from $15 and up per bottle so you don't need to spend a lot, but you can definitely find something perfect for any occasion. Final note: Get. The. Cheese. Plate. Best in town!

Blackstone branch is very cute and good selection of wine. Customer service needs improvement. Waitress did not remember my order and said she forgot and came back in an off handed way and said, what was that again you wanted. When I asked if the rooms the back was "free", that is we could sit there if no one had reserved it, she said that nothing is free in a condescending and sarcastic manner. Totally uncalled for. Please train staff so all people are treated properly.

My husband and I stopped here for a late afternoon snack. We both had a glass of wine and shared a cheese/jelly crostini plate. The food was tasty and the server was pleasant. The downside is the location - sitting on the little patio overlooking a busy street didn't fit with the relaxing vibe we wanted.

Cut off sweat pants with paint splatters. Ribbed tank top with dirt smudges. Hair back in a more than messy pony (or two or three). That's my normal attire when popping into Corkscrew to pick up a bottle or two of wine. My neighborhood bottle shop, prices are reasonable, staff is friendly and the selection covers a wide range of price points. I like that you can describe your flavor profile (and price point) and they're pretty spot on with wine recommendations. I tend to zip in and out, looking disheveled and questionable, so it's a rare occasion that I actually hang out at this establishment. The decor is clean and open. Choose from one of the plush seating areas, table/chair arrangements or chill out at the bar. Buy wine by the glass or by the case...er, I mean bottle. During nice weather months, the patio with fireplace is a nice option, especially for dog owners who want to bring their four-legged friends to Yappy Hour. Food items are limited but artfully displayed. I should probs just stick with the bottle shop concept. Not just because I love sweatpants, but because "let's meet up for a glass of wine" turns into "let's mortgage our houses to pay for our bill" type of situation. A frequent flier program for wine consumption...that would boost this joint to five stars for sure.

I thought the place looked very cozy. Upscale. The service was very nice. Not THAT much seating.... but a sufficent amount. The wine selection is great. I know nothing about alcohol. I rarely drink... so I simply told the server--- what I like in a wine... and they found the PERFECT wine for me! I really enjoyed it! Did not eat any wine and cheeses.... just sipped wine and chatted. The seating was very comfortable.

They have a great selection of wines available for both drinking and purchasing. I wish they had more indoor seating though. At times if there are groups there is no where to sit. However in when the weather is nice their patio is unbeatable. We have also had the antipasti plates and dessert and were very happy with the items we ordered. We got married on the large patio next to the corkscrew patio and it was a great casual venue.

They change the wine menu monthly- so be sure to go Monthly to try different wines! The smoked salmon tray is awesome! You can buy bread to go!I always have pleasant experiences here. Justin is super helpful with my "wine to go" needs the other day. Enjoyed that Newton Chardonney! Staff is always super helpful. Patio has been expanded!

Not sure why I have never thought to go here. Maybe I thought it would be a bit beyond my knowledge. I was invited here for a work meeting and loved the space, the service was fantastic and in no way were you looked down upon for your lack of knowledge about certain wines, and cheeses. The two Pinot's that were picked out for us were just what we had hoped for and discussed and the cheese plate was delicious. I will definitely consider going here more, even on more casual occasions.

I had been wanting to go to the Corkscew for a long time, and when they showed up on the Restaurant.com deals, I knew it was a sign! My husband and I went in last night and had a wonderful experience on the patio. Upon arrival, you can either select a glass/bottle of wine from their menu or select any bottle in their retail shop. I enjoyed this option, so I could look over the bottles and price points to make a good solid decision. Bottles priced less than 25, are subject to a 5.00 corking fee (NBD and pretty standard). My husband and I selected a great Pinot Noir for 14.99, but prices range from 10.00 and up. We ordered their meat and cheese tray for two, delish! The cheeses change daily, so each trip can be a new experience. We had bleu cheese in a honey reduction, a soft cheese (cant remember the name), and a cashew butter cheese with a balsamic vinegarette reduction. The cheese came with Marcona almonds and warm crusty french bread. The meat tray consisted of Proscutto and another cured Italian meat. We sat on the patio, but the inside area is quite inviting as well. There is a fireplace on the patio, and I can definately see myself enjoying a good bottle this fall on a cooler evening! The staff was friendly, helpful and not at all pretentious. The atmosphere is definately romantic, and very relaxing! You won't be disappointed.

When my sister told me she planned to invite almost 40 people to her bridal shower, I was stuck with the daunting task of finding a place that would be both intimate and comfortable for such a large group. After spending a couple of great nights here having some wine with friends, I decided it would be the perfect fit. I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out! The space is great for parties of any size. The staff struck a perfect balance between being extremely helpful and attentive, yet giving us plenty of space to enjoy the day. Everyone raved about the cheese plate and the wine suggestions were perfect. The price for both food and wine is extremely reasonable compared to other places in town. It's a really nice atmosphere with an adorable outdoor patio. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a laid-back spot to host a shower, or just looking for a place to relax with some friends. I am extremely grateful to everyone at Corkscrew for taking the stress out of hosting and helping to make an unforgettable day for my sister!

I have been going to the Corkscrew since it first opened. They have a great mix of retail and by the glass wines. Each month there is a new selection of wines by the glass. Corey does a great job placing wines on the list that work for someone new to wine. But also has a few that will attract the people who have been drinking wine a long time. The retail selection is built to so that you can get great wines at good prices. The staff is AWESOME. They know wine and are approachable. I also like that the atmosphere is casual and comfortable. Check out the patio. I have taken friends from around the country to the Corkscrew and they all rave about the place. Please give it a try.

Spent some time this afternoon here; my boyfriend and I had 2 glasses of wine each. The wine selection is well-rounded, and the atmosphere is very nice...you can almost forget you're looking out on Center street. I had a few issues regarding the service, however. First of all, the bartender didn't offer to tell us anything about the wine or give any suggestions, and I can see why that might be favorable for some people who are truly uppity about the fact that they KNOW WINE and whatnot, but even as someone who considers themselves knowledgeable about wine, I still like to hear a little spiel when I come somewhere for the first time. There was no effort to know if we had been there before, nor did he ask if we wanted to hear anything about the 20+ wines by the glass they had. Throughout our time there, the bartender kept sipping on some kind of smoothie, seemed very casual...texting, leaning on the counters...kind of as if we weren't sitting right in front of him. Finally, when we were ready to pay, he handed the bill to my boyfriend despite the fact that I had my wallet out. Then, I handed him the bill with my credit card in it. He ran it....and handed it back to my boyfriend. I don't mean to nitpick, but come on! Take a second to see who is paying you and thank them, don't just assume it's the male in the equation. All in all, I am appreciative that someplace like this exists amongst the rampant sports bars in Omaha, but just by upping the service quality a little bit I think this place could be a lot more successful.

Great atmosphere! Delightful patio! Good food! Only complaint ..... we ordered a bottle of wine and it was brought to us already open. Seems that when they are busy the bartender handles this. In the world on wine, this just isn't done and Cork Screw should know this. I'm pretty sure we got what we ordered, but how does a customer know? Just really surprised a wine store would do this. I did make a comment to our server.

I came here for an All About Omaha (young professional group) happy hour. I spent the first half hour in my car as it got pelted with hail and then waded through calf deep water to get inside, but that's another story. Overall, it's a good atmosphere inside, a good wine selection, and some nice cheeses. It's just a bit on the pricey side and didn't have anything that made it especially special for me.

i like the space and its a great concept, i justy think they dont execute very well, have been there several times and the service is not good,. the meat and cheese trays are good, prices are average at best. they do have a nice outdoor patio.

Wow, I just found this website...pretty cool!!! I LOVE the Corkscrew Wine & Cheese Store. The wines offered by the glass change monthly, which allows me an opportunity to try a vast number of wines without a full bottle committment. Oh, and the cheeses...the CHEESES. I used to think Velveeta was cheese...now I know better!!! HA! Also, (Yeah, I know it's December), the patio with the trellis is FABULOUS in the spring and fall!!! The vines make it intimate and the water feature and fireplace make it a remarkably serene environment. Finally, the staff. They are engaging and knowledgable without making a novice like myself feel ignorant. Great place. Great people. Great fun!!!

I live in San Francisco, but was in the store on a recent visit to Omaha. They have a great selection at a variety of price points, knowledgeable staff and very pleasant atmosphere. I will put this on my list everytime I'm in Omaha. I would highly recommend a trip to this store for all your wine and cheese needs!

We went to Corkscrew because it was a member of Pinpoint and lately we've been on the hunt for meat and cheese plates. When we walked in, it was very light and open. It wasn't nice enough to sit on the patio, but it looks like a cozy spot for a future visit. We were greeted immediately. Our server let us pick out a table and asked us if we had been there before. We hadn't and she went over all of the basic information that we needed to know. She was extremely personable and it really added to our experience. We had the meat and cheese plate and although it was a pretty basic assortment, it was good and reasonably priced. The bread was served warm and it was delicious. They have a large wine selection both on the menu, but also within the store if you want to select something else. My fiance actually had beer with his food, whereas I stuck with wine. We'll definitely be back. And we love that they are a member of Pinpoint!

I had a little gathering for about 8 people last evening and it was lovely. The hosts took great care of our group. I had placed a special food order for the event and all the food was fresh and great tasting. Amazing selections of cheese. meats and fresh fruits. I would suggest placing an order for the sliders very good especially if you add a little blue cheese to the bun. My boss was in visiting from California and he was very impressed with the selection and price of the wines offered. Great job I'd definitely recommend this for a team outing.

Nothing better than getting a meat and cheese tray and few glasses of wine on a Saturday afternoon. Great wine selection, very nice patio and the owner and staff are super helpful and friendly. No snooty wine snobbery here! They have a really good beer selection, which is not common at wine bars. And if you are in the mood for a manhattan, they make a great one as well. The worst part about this place is that it is too far from our house, and we can't get here often enough.
