Over the years I have visited here many times and I love it every time I do.

This place is maybe kind of a dive, but the food is great and the kids love the fountain. It's in an old strip mall off of 93rd and Maple, stuck between the county environmental office and the 93rd Street Spa. They offer a pretty wide selection of Mexican entrees; all of them that I have had were delicious. The staff is efficient and helpful, not overly friendly, and I almost took a star for that, but I'm going to assume that maybe they don't speak English that well.

Food is trash. Tastes like s**t. The service is a joke and it looks filthy in here. Came once didn't eat anything because it was so nasty. I'll never Go back!

Their Mexican rice was amazing. Fluffy and flavorful and not a pea or carrot in sight! Definitely the best rice I've had in Nebraska. The beans were really good, too, and obviously homemade. The cheese enchiladas and guacamole, though...not so much. The guacamole actually came out brown and watery and I sent it back. :( I did try a bite of it first, and it appeared to be all avocado...no lime, onion, tomato, garlic, cilantro, or jalapeno to give it some flavor. Come on, people! The sauce on my enchiladas was a very bland tomato sauce, and tasted like the sauce generally used in entomatadas. They had entomotadas on the menu, so they must just use the same sauce. The only difference between entomatadas and enchiladas is the sauce...making these entomatadas and not enchiladas. Boo!! Their sides (the rice and beans) were so good that, despite the whole enchilada/entomatada swaperoo and gross guacamole, I would give them another chance. The service was good and the food came out hot and extremely fast. The menu is pretty extensive.

The food was excellent! Had the Flauta dinner like always and it was great!! Chicken tacos also very yummy! They were in the process of changing owners when we were there and they couldn't serve alcohol. Bummer. Wish it would've been posted so we would've known before entering. But we stayed and were not disappointed! Great little "hole in the wall" place to eat.

Disgusting. I will never eat here again. I ordered an enchilada plate and it tasted like it came out of a can and it was cold when I got it. I can make 10 times better mexican at home than this place. Service was terrible too. We waited quite a while to waited on and then I never got a refil on my drinks or anything and it was not busy what so ever. Oh yeah and I had to pay for chips...a trend I have noticed in Omaha.

It's a bit tough to rate this place. I like to go there once in a great while for the green chile burrito. That and the Mexican enchiladas (the ones with green chile and chicken in actual corn tortillas) are the best things on the menu. The burrito itself isn't a classic spicy chile verde, but it still has plenty of green chile flavor, and the cheese and sauce put it in the realm of comfort food. The Mexican enchiladas are passable. Everything else is on the level of places like La Fonda, Romeo's, or Julio's: I wouldn't pay good money for any of it. Neither will my family, hence the rarity of my getting to eat the green burrito at Club Mex. Oh, yeah, and one other good thing: they have their own ice maker that makes those little cylinders of ice that squeeze so nicely between your teeth when you chew them. It's almost like having a Coke Sno-Cone. Gimme a green burrito and a Coke there any time. You can keep the rest.

I first visited Club Mex 10+ years ago and little has changed. Now whenever I am in town I stop by for lunch. The location isn't great and the place is certainly outdated but the food is great. After living in Southern California for several years I still find club Mex to be the best.

So after revisiting Club Mex after some time had passed I feel obligated to update: Last few visits seem to have changed my outlook. Although I never order it, the beef they use is super dry and not seasoned much at all... Service has slipped each time and without much of a crowd causing it. I stand behind those chicken tacos from my first review, they are pretty damn good. Other items I have now tried leave me wanting more and do not reflect the amount you pay. Hopefully the owners can take some feedback and bring this place back to life.

Pretty solid food, though definitely in the 'lots of cheese and sauce' arena of places like Fernando's or La Mesa. But if that's your kind of Mexican, Club Mex definitely caters to your tastes with lightning speed in an albeit random location.

I guess the average Nebraskan's taste for Mexican food is much blander than what a Californian like myself is accustomed to, which explains why nearly all the Mexican restaurants I've eaten at in Omaha have seemed boring and tasteless. Club Mex is no exception. I ordered two tacos ($1.50 each on Wednesday). The meat was almost utterly flavorless and it came in a fried flour tortilla. Bland and utterly inoffensive seems to be the rule for Mexican food in Omaha. As hole-in-the-wall Mexican joints go, this one is bigger and nicer looking than most I've been to in the past. The staff is friendly, though somewhat hard to understand.

This is a great place to enjoy a family meal. We were greeted by warm smiles and service was as quick as could be on a busy Saturday eve. The food was great and very tasteful. I enjoyed the Ma and Pa feel to it. I feel that a lot of restaurants nowadays are stuffy and have a surgical feel to them. I was able to have a conversation with my family without having to speak loud or yell over the noise. It was a full house but the layout of the tables was perfect. I feel the need to write a positive experiance on here, as people tend to express negative experience more then positive ones nowadays. Thank you club mex!~

Anything but fancy, but the authentic Mexican food is amazing.

Sure, this place is kida divey, and the service is not amazing. But, the food is incredible. Most authentic Mexican food you will find in Omaha outside of South Omaha.

I can't possibly express how awful my experience was here. First off, the location and outward appearance of the "restaraurant" do not mislead about what is behind the doors. Be forewarned. The inside is tacky and outdated, the metal door squeals as you enter. We had to state our business to someone back behind the bar when we entered, who was looking at us quizzically. We were then seated at a booth, with torn seats and broken springs. The food was worse than the aestethics and serivce: my daughter had the quesadilla, which instead was a dried out tortilla with dried black hamburger meat, white wilted lettuce and some unripe tiny tomato chunks. It was not topped with a tortilla to make a quesadilla, or to make it something you could even pick up and eat. No matter, it was disgusting and inedible anyway. I had the enchiladas...and it was more of the same. Dried out, hard blackened hamburger meat, thin bland sauce, and pure lard watery refried beans. I have never been so repulsed by food as I was at this meal. To add insult to injury, the prices on the menu were not in fact, the prices we were charged. I rue the day I came here and will never be back. Blech.

another Omaha mexican restaurant that seems to think all the people want is sauce & cheese piled on top of bland food. the salsa was pretty watery, pico de gallo not very fresh, guacamole was ok... seriously shocking they only had 1 type of tequila (cuervo of course) and the top shelf margarita I ordered came carbonated. the biggest shock was they didn't have carne asada on the menu? and last but not least - the beans were incredibly lardy. we'll most likely not return, too bad it's so close to our house.
