I usually get take out from here, and it's always been great....today I decided to try their buffet...I love buffets, but I've always hated Chinese buffets since they usually blow ass...Happily, CT has what I consider a damn good one...for only $7.50, not including drink, you get a surprisingly tasty assortment of treats...while I prefer sweet and sour pork, I did enjoy their sweet and sour chicken...I also thought their egg drop soup was good...While i probably will stick with take out, I like the idea of being able to come here for a good and cheap buffet...once again CT knocks it out of the park...

China Taste is pretty close to my work, so I decided to get some carry out today. I don't have a whole lot to say about the place. Everything was pretty mediocre. The decor and atmosphere... not horrible, but not great. The food was just mediocre as well. I won't be rushing back, but it's an okay choice when I want to grab some quick chinese food for lunch.

I've only had take out from here. Their food is delicious! I always get the chicken lo mein and general tsos chicken. Their chop suet is nothing special but they always provide enough fortune cookies to their customers!

I've only done take out here. It's pretty close to my job, so I tried it out. I had veggie fried rice on my most recent trip. Nothing fancy about this place. It's pretty simple inside. Not a date place, by any means. But, the service was fast and the guy at the counter (youngish looking guy) was really nice to me and even joked around with me a bit. If you're looking for a quick, decent Chinese food place and you're near the Creighton campus, this works pretty well.

Scary little strip mall Chinese place doing a jammin' little lunchtime business with a mix of regular folks and Creighton people. Ambience: Strip mall cateteria. Service: Less than friendly counter service. Food: Meh. Price: You can scrounge up the change in your cushions. $5.99 gets you the lunch buffet ($6.49 if you're paying with credit card).

It's alright, not great, not terrible. 3 stars for the affordability of the lunch buffet, but there are other options in the area

I agree with Oscar, the Beef is the must have item on the buffet. The General Chicken & the rice noodle went well together as well. Overall, great value for money.

Not the best chinese joint in town, but a-okay in my book. This place has been in this strip mall for quite a long time, and for the most part, their food is good. The only thing I avoid on their menu is the fried rice. Not that it tastes bad, but it has this yellow-ish, doesn't look like "traditional" fried rice consistency. I too dislike the extra fifty-cent upcharge if you use a credit/debit card, but it isn't a deal breaker. My favorite entree: beef with pepper & tomato.

China Taste is good Chinese food combined with some petty annoyances that keep it from being a truly great place to get Chinese food. The food is quite good and the lunch specials are generally less than $5. I particularly like their serving sizes of hot n' sour soup. The small is actually a vat, and the large is a double vat. But no Chinese restaurant is perfect. If you want to use a debit or credit card to pay for your food, they charge you 50 cents per transaction. Now I realize that most restaurants build this fee into their food prices, and China Taste does have an ATM (with it's own $2 charge, since no one banks at Jerry's Guns and Pawn). Nonetheless, it's annoying. Even more annoying is that they don't have fountain drinks, only bottles of pop or water for $1.50. So they you are with your extra salty Chinese food and only 20 ounces of liquid (No refills). It's like a bad game show.

With it being right across the street from Creighton, it's an awesome alternative compared to what they serve on campus! You get a good amount of food (I usually get Kung Pao chicken or Brocolli Beef), maybe a bit too much for lunch honestly, but it makes for great left overs. Prices are very reasonable and they actually added a lunch buffet a few months back.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
