27 dollars and a 15 min wait and you still forget my babies pop corn shrimp grrrr...you guys cook your meats too long, causing them to dry out and become hard...buffalo chips way too spicy....

Heard about this place from a friend and decided to try it. Had a Catfish fillet dinner and my friend had a Buffalo fish dinner. The fish was excellent on both dinners!!! The sides were just so-so...like they were trying NOT to offend anyone's particular palate. The prices. $11.75 and $10.50 respectively, were pretty reasonable. Overall, I will return but will only get the fish SANDWICHES without the sides.

Decided to check this place out after a few recommendations. Went in during the middle of afternoon and was the only customer there. Ordered a half rack of ribs and a side of spaghetti. The person taking the order was friendly and my food came out piping hot and I actually got more than I paid for. The spaghetti was not really the style I like, which does not mean it is bad at all. Just not my thing. The ribs were slathered in sauce and I mean slathered. They were tender and fall of the bone, but lacking in flavor outside of the sauce. Not bad, just not something I was super excited about. I left there full and felt like I got more than my money's worth as far as quantity. They had some amazing looking desserts that I might run in to try one of these days.

Good lightly seasoned ried catfish, although a tad bit salty. Fried okra was pretty darn good too with a lightly seasoned, crunchy batter. Don't bother with the spaghetti, it definitely had a canned or jarred sauce and kinda vinegary flavored.

Food can be the best quality but if it takes forever to get then the service is not good service. My hope is that this business learns the value of timeliness. We've been waiting for over 20 minutes.

Wonderful owner/manager. I was welcomed in that made me feel and home and was checked on once the meal was done. The catfish and corn bread I ordered was divine. My Uncle ordered a full battered catfish. It was bone in and he seemed to enjoy every last morsel. This place is a gem and I suggest it to anyone who enjoys good catfish.

Flavorless. I am so disappointed with North Omaha's food. I would think that with all the "southern" style cooking I hear people priding themselves in that there would be flavorful foods. Maybe the problem is that once they open a restaurant they don't want the expense of the seasoning... that has to be it. Because I refuse that this place along with others in North Omaha are incapable of producing editable meals. This place was extremely flavorless. I had doubts of going into this place because of it being in the rat infested KFC. But I saw that they had done extensive remodeling... the kitchen was open to the public to see from the dinning area... So, I took a chance (what the hell, I have white blood cells). Ugh, food was not up to par!

I'll never go back there again! It's around the corner from my house so I figured I'd try it.My fiance, son, and myself went in and can we talk about slow service? She ordered before I did, along with several others, but I got my food first. I ordered the whole catfish dinner with mushrooms and coleslaw as my sides. Since when does okra and mushrooms look alike? Beyond that, I had to wait an additional 20 minutes for them to complete HER order. I'd rather spend my money at Joe Tess and take that drive to South Omaha. The help appeared confused and unorganized. I know the owner but I WON'T be be going back any time soon. Get it together!!!!

Stopped here for the first time today. The catfish fillets were the best I've ever eaten. It takes awhile, because they don't begin to cook them until after you've ordered. But it'd worth the wait. Alyssa M from Maryland is absolutely out of her mind wrong. I'll be back.

Since the catfish place at 72nd and Ames closed under the weight of its own mediocrity, I was pretty happy to see yet another catfish place going into the old KFC at 60th and Ames. It opened perhaps a month ago, and I finally had the chance to get in there last night and try it. Boy, was I ever disappointed. The catfish wasn't terrible. But the catfish I make at home is worlds better. All I do is roll it around in Zatarain's Seasoned Fish-Fri (sic) and deep fry it. So I'm thinking there's no magic in making good fried catfish. This place doesn't have the magic. We also tried chicken livers, chicken gizzards, mac and cheese, fried okra, green beans, cole slaw, and fried mushrooms. Guess which ones were great? Did you say "none?" You got it. The Wife found the cole slaw, green beans, and livers to be, in her words, "uninspiring." I guess I should say "in her word," since "uninspiring" is just one word. Anyway. I've had better chicken gizzards from a gas station. The okra and mushrooms were right out of a bag (Ore-Ida isn't "alrighta," not when you're hoping for good down-home cooking). I tried Boy the Younger's mac and cheese, and found it bland and not especially cheesy. We ordered a bit extra just so we could try some different things, and wound up with a set of extra sides they tossed in by mistake. What that wound up as was a big pile of extra food nobody wanted to eat, and the leftovers went into the trash. Oh, yeah, I forgot about the fried potatoes. Thick cut chips, coated, seasoned, and fried. Meh. I'm thinking I should open my own fried food restaurant. Just buy everything fresh, and roll everything in Zatarain's. It'd be better than anything that's turned up 'round here lately.

The catfish sandwich and the catfish dinner were excellent and arrived at our table much quicker than expected. Everything was fresh, hot and there were no signs of grease. On the downside, the banana pudding seemed chalky or powdery, like a box mix and there weren't any bananas to be found. They LOOKED good and the person who prepared them seemed quite proud of them but their taste and quality were lacking. We had gotten the banana pudding to-go or I would have told them on the spot. To be fair I believe that I will call them after this post and let them know my displeasure. Also although we did not order any cake my wife did express concern about the cakes that appeared to be sitting out without refrigeration, I don't know the rules about that but she did point it out as one of her concerns. Again, great food, but ask to sample the desserts first.

I recently stopped by to try out the Catfish Corner. I ordered the catfish, greens mac and cheese and sweet potatoes. omg it was absolutely delicious. I loved the banana pudding also. The customer service was very good. Service with a smile. When I return to Omaha this will be one of my first stops.
