A friend who used to make this place his local haunt when he was in college took me by this place after a zoo trip. It has a great little coffee shop vibe with little nooks to hide in and study, fun art/posters/randomness to gaze at and pretend to study, and of course a huge menu of beverage and snack choices to distract you from studying. This. Place. Is. Ideal. With a main floor, a second story, and a little hide away garden up top, there are tons of areas to get comfy. The menu has some fun coffee choices and I was thrilled to see the amaretto latte, which I nommed. They have some gluten free bakery items, which is legit. Oh yeah.. They also sell flannel shirts in the corner.. Soo 'braska 'merica I love it.

Rude staff. One girl in particular was just a meany. I asked for a particular syrup and she huffed and said "yeah". So I asked to have some in my coffee and she seemed terribly inconvenienced. I came back a few minutes later because I couldn't taste the flavoring and asked if she had put it in and she rolled her eyes and said "yeah I did" and started turning her back toward me. Finally I asked her how her day was going and that seemed to push her dazzling personality right over the edge. What's sad is that I feel like every interaction I've had with employees here have been equally disappointing. This woman in particular needs to find a new line of work.

Popular hot spot. Alex and I ordered cafe even better than my fave Starbucks. Good friendly customer service and great ambience to plan our big move out of OMAHA. Not Nebraska. Just leaving this hustle bustle of city. Eager and our children can't wait. If you need a peaceful lovely location to think and talk to your soulmate you found it. Thank you for a peaceful moment. Keep the coffee hot opens 6:30am

Coffee: Good. I'm into the selection. Generally hot and full. Lattes and shit like that: Tasty but a little expensive. Ambiance: Artistic. However it always strikes me as a place where people sit and try to write and look studious but remarkably end up on social media; bitches trying to look trendy and shit. Staff: Good folks. Im sure they are nice people but half the time they look like they just got thrown out of Brooklyn for looking too ridiculous. Suggested Improvements: Crank up your coffee and make it the most caffeinated shit on the planet. Then start playing some Black Flag, spike some drinks with cocaine, release a couple of ferrets and exotic birds, and start selling beer. Then sit back, watch, and observe while your quiet coffee shop devolves into pit of anarchy.

Yummy, yummy yummy! Best iced latte in town. Great environment, super friendly folks working and delicious coffee. One of my favorite places in Omaha.

Cool atmosphere, but out of everything... Chai, creamer and sugar for regular coffee. A bit disappointing. What we settled for was good.

I stopped by today to buy a pound (or 2) of whole bean coffee. I asked on arrival and got a grunt and a nod in the direction from a male barrista, not so much from the young lady chatting away with her friend at the counter. I stood around for over 5 minutes waiting for someone, ANYONE, to answer a basic question or two about their products. I was totally ignored even though the young lady walked right by me on her way to change out the tip jar. Pitiful pretentious D-bags will never get another chance to get a nickel from me. I've had more personable service at Wally World!

I'm sitting here right now. Okay, but nothing special: Food/Drinks: I haven't had a drink yet, so I can't judge that. Right now I'm eating a fruit tart. It's okay, but nothing significant. Atmosphere: The inside of the building is charming. But, they don't have enough outlets to plug in laptops, which is a huge inconvenience. Outlets are a must these days in coffee shops. Also....they have signs in the windows advocating for political issues. Really off-putting and unprofessional. Service. Quick, but really snobby. Especially the girl.

  • Grace W.

Unique interior couldn't make up for the snobbish, pretentious customer service and awful coffee. Very burnt and bitter tasting.

Caffeine Dreams coffee is so weak that SWV should be singing about it. (That 1993 pop music reference dates me, doesn't it?) I promise you it's not because I'm from Seattle that makes me think Caffeine Dreams' coffee is bad. I promise, I'm not a coffee snob! The coffee just doesn't have any flavor. However, I do like the atmosphere -- it'd be a great place to study, hang out (they have board games!), surf the internet, or just lounge around.

  • Phil V.

College. Coffee. House. Tons of room to study, tons of places to plug in, a large menu and a chill staff. I came in at night and the drip coffee was a little weak, but I'm sure there are better times for it. The place could use a wipe down, but for the most part it's a good place to grab a drink.

I loved frequenting Caffeine Dreams when I lived in Omaha. They have pretty good coffee at fair prices and good atmosphere. My only complaints are that the furniture is a little weird and some of the tables are uncomfortable. What ever happened to nice, wooden, square tables at a comfortable height? The outdoor patio garden at Caffeine Dreams is the best! If the weather is nice I recommend you head out there. This place might give off too much of a indie/hipster/grunge feel at first, but the baristas are friendly. My advice: make this a morning spot because it is not nearly as busy as in the evenings. You'll have choices on where to sit and a better wifi connection.

Caffeine Dreams was a pleasure to discover on my recent trip to Omaha. I had been curious about it as it was/is my daughter's favorite coffee haunt in Omaha. Well....it is now mine. My favorite coffee haunt in the US currently. I love the atmosphere with it's little nooks to sneak away and have a quiet moment. I am thrilled to have lots of yummy vegan treats and the option of almond milk in my coffee which isn't something I find in your usual coffee shop. Interesting people watching too! Can hardly wait for my next trip back.

I wish they had more spaces and bigger tables. It's a hip place to be, and they have really great tea (I always get a pumpkin chai when I'm here. It's delish), but they have limited to no seating with outlets. :( So it's hard to study! Other than that, I like this place. I wish they heated their sandwiches, but they also have decent pastries.

This is as good as it gets in Midtown when you're looking for a place to sit for a while with a good book or laptop and have a caffeinated beverage. The coffee's ok. (100x better than Blue Line tho) I usually get an Americano. It's more reliable than most cafes' drip coffee. They're sandwiches are pretty good. The baked goods generally look appetizing although they're nothing to really write home about. I really like the atmosphere... the brick walls, cement floors, metal tables, and large sofas. There's also a pile of board and card games if you show up unprepared (no laptop). My only REAL gripe is the handful of customers who have no idea how to behave with their gadgets in public. One guy (I'm looking at you Nathan, you work for State Farm. How do I know? You made all your phone calls in the cafe one day. LOUDLY! And the next time I saw you, you were on SPEAKERPHONE talking to your coworkers on a conference call. WTF?!) Yeah, this guy uses the place as his personal office and makes all of his calls there...some on speakerphone. The same day there was also another guy who was watching a movie with no headphones. Seriously. But if those 2 boneheads aren't there, it's a pretty nice place to get a cuppa and use the intarwebs. :)

  • Sarah I.

I met a friend here and was pleasantly surprised by the cappuccino I enjoyed, although they did not have whole milk, only 2% and nonfat. I don't know if this is standard or they were just out (it was a Sunday); what kind of coffeeshop doesn't have whole milk? It makes the best foam! But my drink was good (better than the one I had at Blue Line) and the scone, although not at all shaped like a proper scone, tasted great. The space is misleadingly small, for all that the high ceilings make it feel really big. There are not that many tables. The art on the walls is neato. We were there to talk (quietly!) and kept getting looks from Laptop People; at times, despite every table being full, our voices were the only ones. Everyone else was plugged in. Not really a jolly sort of place, but perhaps everyone was finishing term papers or something. The staff were friendly--I'd go back.

Cozy, great music, friendly staff. Quiet place to study during the day. My fruit tart was excellent and the wrap was also very good. A good experience.

  • Laura C.

Good local coffee house. I have utilized it once before to study and it was not the most convenient coffee house I have studied at. The tables are small so plan on using just your computer and a book. I have continued to drop by because I think the espresso is some of the best tasting in Omaha - I like to order iced espresso and it has a nice full-bodied, rich flavor at Caffeine Dreams. Prices are very typical, while I don't vary my order, I didn't notice anything on the menu that was outrageously expensive.

Despite the fact that there is a sign (posted by the staff!) that says "this is not a silent library" people seem to think it is. I've been coming to CD for years. I really love the place, but I would rather sit at a different coffee shop where I don't get dirty looks from study crowds. Occasionally I stop in though. The coffee is decent- similar prices to just about anywhere else, and the baristas are all really friendly. I drink soy due to a dairy allergy. It's hard to get a good soy latte and CD delivers just that. It really is too bad about the study buddies.

  • Phoebe R.

Ordered a large cafe au lait but the cup was 12oz at best. Hope they just misheard me. They gave me a cup of milk and had me add the coffee from the dispenser, odd. Coffee was very weak. No flavor. Will try again, probably, because they were open late on a Sunday. This is a repost of the "tip" I left because I can't believe how weak the coffee was...and the fact that I did part of the drink myself.

I was looking for a place to get some work done while in Omaha and found this via Yelp. It's located between a large medical complex and a very pretty, upscale neighborhood. Lots of free parking in the lot next door. The building itself is an old industrial structure. There are three rooms and several levels to the place with lots of seating, be they tables, couches or a bar type thing facing the window by the counter. The decor is all local arts: sculptures, paintings, photography, etc. Definitely a hipster sort of place, and the music does reflect that. I was in here twice, both times for about 2 hours, and liked most of what I heard (Band of Horses' first album and a Best of David Bowie were played) but, hey, you can always bring headphones if you don't like it. Per the coffee, I'm usually very picky about it. The first time I came, they had a Guatemalan on brew (they change them out fairly frequently and have like 5 different kinds to try) and that was fantastic. The second time, I had a Papua New Guinean, which I didn't really like, although I went back for the Mexican and that was much better. It's just nice to have that kind of variety with the coffee. Pretty cheap, at least from my experience: under $2 will get you a mug for apparently unlimited refills. I didn't try the food, but it sounded good from the descriptions and was also reasonably priced. The tables are a little annoying: one full-sized laptop is the limit, but that seemed like what most people were doing anyway. The chairs also always seemed to be wobbly, although they were obviously not terribly new. Not a ton of outlets but not a total lack of them either. I never had a problem finding them. I came on weekdays, early afternoons, both times and, although it was a bit noisy by the counter, there weren't the typical group of idiot yakkers that you find at a lot of coffee shops. Maybe they come in on the weekends or after school lets out though. If you come in the summer, make sure to not sit by a vent. There aren't many of them so, when the a/c is crankin', it'll get pretty cold near them. I really liked this place and wish that more coffee shops would follow suit with the atmosphere, the variety of coffee and the decor.

Real barristas. Good price. Art-sy joint that would be great to read the morning paper or study. Neighborhood favorite. Don't bother looking for a Starbucks if you can have Caffeine Dreams.

  • Sarah G.

Nice spot in a somewhat random location. The building and patio are both awesome while beverages and treats are both more on the 'average' level. Go for the atmosphere and chai. The fruit tarts are pretty good too.

  • Natalie S.

Caffeine Dreams has a great environment. I haven't tried the coffee everyone keeps saying is awful, because I drink tea. And their Chai Tea (Iced or Latte) is delicious. I used to study there, and I love the set-up. If you need a study break they have great games: Connect Four, Who's Who, etc. You get the gist.

  • Carter B.

Coffee is average so 3 stars because it is a coffee shop. Double shot americano was a little bitter and previous ones have been too. However, their baked items deserve 4 stars - blueberry scone and kolace were amazing. I definitely recommend their scones and kolaces, and I'm sure their other baked items are just as good. I cannot comment on the brewed coffee, smoothies or tea. They also have plenty of space to work/study. I didn't search for an outlet so not sure if they have many or not. Bathroom door lock was broken so there was a sign to indicate to knock and wait patiently for a response before entering. I feel sorry for the poor guy on the toilet if someone comes barging in because the door is right next to the entrance. Hopefully they will fix it soon. I also had small gnats or flies bothering me because they had the door propped open (no screen). The person making coffee and running the register seemed a little annoyed with having to help me - i.e., impatient, rushing, no eye contact, no smile and the place was not busy - I guess I apologize for being a patron. I feel like this is the norm with most local coffee shops in Omaha.

I think the clientele that frequents this place thinks it is a library. The crowd is basically a college age crowd, all with their earbuds in, typing on their laptops. God forbid, that you might want to converse with someone. Dirty looks from every direction. I like the atmosphere. My mocha was fine. THe cookie I got was great. I usually had only gotten coffee. When I went in yesterday, i had my daugher. She had a wonderful piece of raspberry chocolate torte that was very very rich. SHe said the hot chocolate was bad but--she is only 5. Service was friendly although when I asked for a napkin, the server seemed very confused. She asked if I could use a paper towel instead....alright...no problem. I hope the table hogs who throw around the dirty looks drink alot of coffee.

If I lived in Omaha, I'd be here a lot. Funky interior and nifty random artwork. My pina colada soda is a little ... odd, but I should've known better.

  • Sebastian G.

Great coffee, toss in some crunchy/altness and you have a sweet coffee shop. Only 4 stars due to the that it takes some maneuvering to get there. On my next trip to Omaha, I could not even begin to find this place again. too bad. Trapped in Omaha/Council Bluffs w/o good coffee.

I think this place has it all. It has atmosphere, it has a great staff, and most important of all it has GREAT coffee.

  • Amanda S.

I don't care that the tables are only big enough to fit a laptop and a cup of coffee. I don't care that it's hipster-central. Caffeine Dreams is my favorite place to hide from the world in Omaha. Coffee is good, pastries are good, tea selection is excellent, and the service is always friendly. I've tried their mozzarella pesto and thai curry chicken salad sandwiches as well, both are pretty good if you need to eat something more substantial. I get homesick for Seattle a lot in the big O, and this is one of the most comforting places for me to go. It has a great atmosphere - lots of local art, just enough background noise - I come here often to study.

  • Dylan G.

Pros: Free and speedy wifi, with no annoying codes you have to enter to access the service. Generally, there's always room to have a seat. Coffee is passable but not great. It's a small price to pay to access the free wi-fi for a few hours. Cons: What is with the tables? Can we tone down the "artsy" and go with form and function? It's kind of difficult to study or read at a tabletop shaped like a sperm cell. Hipster quotient: HIGH. Last time I was in there, I kept looking around to see if Vampire Weekend were setting up for a free show. There were so many unshaven hipsters I wasn't even sure from whom I was supposed to order my beverage. The music. If you're lucky, you'll be there during the stretch where the hipsters haven't woken up yet (1 pm), so the person behind the counter won't have to impress them with some sort of atonal skronk that makes Lou Reed's "Metal Machine Music" sound like a Miley Cyrus album. The last time I was there, the blond dude destroyed any love I had for Portishead by playing their newest album, which features not a single melody, way too loud. This was preceded by Tricky's "Maxinquaye" and followed by some Eurotrash house music. God, it was probably a Goldie album, considering the fact that this dude had just apparently discovered techno and trip hop. So, I guess in a pinch, if my internet goes down and I have a paper due by midnight, this place is perfect. Otherwise, I'll just consult the Wayback Machine if I want to pretend that I scored tickets to an Underworld concert in 1996.

If my friend's didn't work here, I'd never be around. Caffeine Dreams has a lot going for it but sort of ruins it by mixing and matching different attitudes/styles and it just clashes. There's something warm about CD, but then the artsy fartsy (and way, way too tall) tables make everything uncomfortable. The coffee is just so-so, and the espresso isn't much better but it's better than the coffee. The terrasse is the best thing about CD, it is huge and quite private and beautiful. As for food, the hummus plate is ok, sandwiches are so-so, and there are some vegan bake goods, which is nice. I'd recommend getting a green iced tea and sitting on the terrasse with a book.

Wow, what a nice coffee shop. Great coffers and service with reasonable prices. Only drawback - no hot breakfast food that I could see .

The people are cool (and totally not diabetically energetic), and the coffee is easily the best in town.

    (5)
  • Eric T.

Great atmosphere, drinks, food and place to study!

  • S A.

You'll find me here more days than not. I'm a fan because of the free wifi, sandwich options (a step up from a pastry-only place), plentiful parking, all the electric outlets for the laptop, and how rarely they run out of tables.

    (5)
  • David K.

I can't vouch for the coffee (cuz' I don't drink it), but this is an awesome coffee shop. It's in a small old brick building with brick-exposed walls. The whole interior feels very warm, which is nice on a cold Omaha day, but when the weather is nice, there's a great outdoor patio in back. The sandwiches are pretty good, too. There is usually art by local artists on the walls and occasionally there's live music.

    (5)
  • Jen H.

Been here a few times to meet up with friends. The coffee is OK, sometimes the drinks come out tasting a little burnt. The atmosphere is sometimes a little distracting when a younger crowd rolls in. Overhearing other people's drama while I'm having a quiet conversation in the corner is not my idea of a coffee house experience.

    (3)
  • Charles G.

Caffeine Dreams definitely has the cool factor on high, and though the coffee isn't so good (the reason the coffee there isn't so good is because they roast beans that aren't so good), it's a great place to relax and chat. The staff are really nice, with the exception of the manager, whose name eludes me now. Sold me some "baggy" beans and then tried to tell me that I screwed up the roast. I'm an experienced home roaster, and I know all too well the difference between crappy beans and a screwed-up roast, as I've done both. On top of it all, he totally blew a gasket as I explained the problem to him, and what was probably worse still, is that he didn't even understand the language of roasting. If you're going to manage a coffee shop, know your product. I am an ass, but this guy out assed me in a big way.

    (3)
  • Abby H.

The coffee at Caffeine Dreams is terrible. It is roasted terribly and always tastes burnt: both drip coffee and espresso. However, they have great brownies and vegan desserts. The staff is a quirky bunch, and are very friendly. It's one of the best places in town to chill and/or study. Even if annoying church groups meet here, they still have a really interesting crowd and great music. Sometimes it's hard to get a seat, and some of the tables are wobbly, but it's fantastic to sit outside in the summer. They have a deck out back away from the traffic and noise. 'Tis very nice. Seek it out.

OK... I show up at 10:30 to kill 30 minutes before a meeting and order a Chai latte. They are out of chai so I order just a regular coffee. I wanted to order a pastry but the cupboard was bare. Coffee comes out self serve (they had you a cup and you go to the coffee thermos (or urn or whatever you call em). The coffee station looks like a bomb went off. Trash everywhere, spilled sugar etc. Plus they are out of sugar (except artificial) and cream. They had straws, not sure why but I used it as a stirrer. Go to sit down and place if full of singles sitting around with their laptops. Hard to find a table so just sat at the open six top. I kill my 30 minutes and start for the door. Thought I would top off my coffee on the way.... no such luck. Not one but both thermos are empty. *sigh* Decor is cool but not sure why anybody would come here. I can only blame my timing (after breakfast rush and before lunch) for the lack of EVERYTHING. lol

my ideal cafe. a good place to work on stuff for hours. I hope this is the direction that Omaha starts to move in, more of a meeting place than a cafe -- staying open late is KEY.

I ALWAYS stop in here when I come to Omaha. GREAT atmosphere, and more importantly, GREAT coffee. A nice place to be alone with your thoughts, too~!

  • Jess O.

Sometimes i get lucky with good espresso drinks. Sometimes the baristas are civil, other times, kind of scary and haughty. This morning I got coffee and the coffee was disgusting, it was bland, diluted, and it didn't help that the handle/pump for the coffee containers were dirty and sticky!! A little bit of cleaning is kind of important.

Perfect coffee shop- staff are genuine and the food always is good! Nothing tastes as though it was mass produced. I am very impressed with the place and cannot wait to see what the outdoor veranda is like in he spring.

So I just get black tea, but in sure their coffee shop is amazing as well. I hear a lot of the people order the dirty chai. The staff is always super friendly. And I got the turkey pesto sandwich. My mouth had an orgasm. Just saying.

I really like the atmosphere and aesthetic at Caffeine Dreams. The brick walls, industrial furniture, and unique lighting make it a fine place for reading, socializing, and studying. It is a popular place so things do get crowded sometimes and it can be difficult to find seating.

  • Dr Frank F.

There's much better coffee to be had, right in the area. I also grew tired of the WiFi not working half the time. But what finally did it for me was the groups of man/boys, being loud & obnoxious, giggling & being silly, and running back & forth to the patio like a bunch of jr high girls. Just obnoxious. I don't need that.

By far the best straight up coffee shop in Omaha. Killer coffee, roasted in-house, a varied snack and light food selection, cool baristas with a good taste in music - my home away from home.

I'm from out of state and was trying to find a bit of home while trying to acclimate myself to the city. This was a lovely place to stumble upon! The people were friendly, the food and drinks are delicious, and the space is really chill. This place is certainly a dream come true for a new-to-the-city gal!

This was my first time here. A group that I am trying to get to know decided to have a gathering in the outdoor section. As far as I could tell, you get your item choices and seat yourself. The waiting line was well managed by the two people working. Service is personalized to the customer's desired items. Given they kept the line moving, the staff was quite friendly in a casual way. They did not act rushed. I perceived that in a positive way. I do not drink coffee, but I do believe in supporting a business that makes such gatherings possible. I decided to try a strawberry smoothie. They make them a bit differently than I do. She asked what kind of milk to use. I asked for real milk. She used 1% and when I said something, she switched to 2% milk. To me, that is not real milk. She surprised me by making most of the added liquid apple juice. I did not say anything since I was wanting to try something different than my usual. I would say it was different than what I make. I rated the smoothie three stars using the Yelp star rating system The straw was not as large in diameter as I am accustomed to for a smoothie, but that actually worked out well in this case as my drink lasted as long as the gathering did. I was able to get the full benefit of my drink without the straw closing up. The bakery display was not fully set up. The carrot cake cupcakes were displayed one space to the right, so when ordering, I thought it was something else. It was very filling for the size. She did properly identify what I bought,so I knew what I was getting before the sale was rung up. I only found two napkins on the end of t he counter.I took one and left the other. The napkin was a good quality napkin. Both items lasted longer that the group gathering did, so my mission was successful in that regard. My perception is the items I purchased were pricey, but since I did not have to tip, that helped me be content that I supported the business and enjoyed the group gathering. My total purchases were just under $10.00 with tax. They accepted my credit card. Edit: FourSquare tips suggest tipping the staff, but I failed to see how to do so ... Therefore, I assumed no tipping. Might have been a error on my part. Nothing was said when they accepted my credit card. Other members of the group went back for refills or more food. I'm not sure if refills of coffee are free or cost again. Edit: FourSquare tip says one refill allowed at no added cost. Given it was a weekend midday, the business had a steady customer flow, but everybody was very relaxed and casual in their consumption rate. Nobody rushed. There were plenty of seating choices both inside and outside.

This place has been one of Omaha's favorite coffee shops for more than a decade now. You also have to love the historic brick building it resides in. Even though it's a large coffee shop, it still fills up pretty fast with college students, non-office workers and casual business meetings. Basically all the signs that this is a solid coffee shop. What's more? They roast their beans in-house. If you've been there for more than a couple hours, you've probably seen this yourself. Great stuff. In all, I think their coffee is a cut above your average coffee shop as well. Plus they're open till 11 p.m. most nights, making it one of the city's only late night (well, kind of) non-booze fueled hangouts. They also offer plenty of food options, from sandwiches to soups to pastries -- all made fresh and/or locally. The spacious patio out back is always a nice spot to relax when weather permits.

Caffeine Dreams is a decent place to meet friends if you want to have whispered conversations, which means it's a bad place to meet or accidentally run into an old friend you haven't seen for awhile. To be fair, that last observation doesn't hold true when you can sit outside on the back patio. The atmosphere is cool, lots of interesting local art to check out. Coffee is as good as anywhere else I frequent. Never once have I felt genuinely welcomed by the folks behind the counter, however. A few months ago I ordered the hummus wrap. I was in need a good breakfast and I got one! The wrap was warmed in a panini press and comprised of hummus, quinoa, tomatoes, red onion, and butter lettuce. Every time I've gone back for this wrap, its quality has deteriorated. Today, the wrap (presented to me with a barely audible and unappreciative "here ya go") contained hummus and quinoa, as usual, a total of one cherry tomato, soggy (possibly iceberg) lettuce, and an acceptable amount of red onion - except it was all congregated into one bite. I'll go back, though, because Caffeine Dreams carries the *most delicious* cinnamon rolls, but that credit belongs to Two Birds Bakery!

I love Caffeine Dreams! Everything they're about is awesome. I came in during my break to grab a smoothie (normally I get a mocha/coffee but it's about 70 out and nice so I decided cold beverage.) Their mixed berry smoothie is awesome! I would definitely recommend it. And seating outside is excellent as well as the inside. Caffeine Dreams is definitely an Omaha original.

Yum! Homemade hummus on my vegan wrap. My sister and I needed a quick bite to eat while in between real estate appointments. They were quick and easy to find. Next time I'm in town this is the spot to go when you want something different than Starbucks.

I recently walked into Caffeine Dreams, hoping to get myself a peanut butter and banana smoothie they for some reason call a Funky Monkey because I was having a down day and I needed something to cheer me up. I was immediately greeted with an unfriendly, "oh no," from the blonde girl behind the counter, the one with the bangs and the face. She scowled at me and the customer ordering at the time laughed at me , making me feel very hurt and unwelcome. Not knowing what to do, I turned around and left. I am instead taking my business today to the nearby Burger King (that's right. THAT Burger King), hoping to get more welcoming service there. You have lost a customer today, Caffeine Dreams, and you have your blonde barista to thank.

One of the best places in Omaha to work (or study, or just hang out) from. I'd give them a 4.5 if I could, given the mediocre food (good bagels and one very good sandwich, but the pastries are really terrible - store bought stuff is better) but I'll err on the positive side, because of the atmosphere, quality of the coffee, cool baristas, etc.

Best cafe ive been to in omaha. I love the indie music that plays. The lights are dimmed perfectly. I got the dirty chai and it was exactly what I was craving... espresso and chai tea. Its a great place for me to come and study. Especially coming from a place where theres a bunch of indie typed coffee shops (Austin) its a pretty cute place that can compete! I will be back the next time I come to omaha.(:

Just moved back to the Big O.. Love coffee shops with personality and this place sure does. Coffee was very good, service was great! Stayed for a good hour or so for a meeting and place was very friendly.

I've been goin to this place off and on since 2001. I was never really much of a coffee shop guy but at a friends need for some company I would join up with him at a coffee shop to go over "girl issues", either his problems with them, or my lack of them. We had a routine...if he had a sucky day he'd come over, take two steps in my house(he didn't have to knock) and ask, "Coffee shop?". I'd obligue, put down the playstation 1 controller and just walk out. We'd go to one of two places. One was the late Stage Right, formerly existing right next to the Orpheum Theatre, and the other was Caffiene Dreams. It was usually a toss up because both places were good and close. After awhile of going to both we went separate ways and I stopped going to both places cuz I had "loner" issues...I didn't like being at places alone and nobody else was big on coffee. Flash forward to the present of an Omaha covered in Scooters, Starbucks, and Crane coffees and one would be overwhelmed to choose a place to get a cup of joe that isn't commercialized and on every corner. Today I was craving caffiene...I needed a kick in the arse. But I didn't want sum double venti avocado or something. I wanted a good, strong cup of joe and I had a flashback of another time. I mentioned Caffiene Dreams to my special lady friend and we decided to go. Upon pulling up she thought what most new people think at first sight of this place. "It looks small". Then we get inside and her perception changed. The inside is cozy and welcoming and the feeling of many brains hard a work was in the air. Yes...this place is a med/college student's study hall of choice. It had been awhile so I straight up asked the barista that I needed something to light a fire under me. She had just the treat: The Red Eye. My special lady friend asked for something sweet and they read here like a book and offered her The Muse made with vanilla and caramel, her 2 favorite flavors. We took our cups of joy outside to the back patio area that is always inviting and coupled with the great weather it was a very pleasent way to spend an hour. just talking and being with each other. This place gave us this moment and I remembered why this was a place a former non-coffee drinker would always agree to go to. And with my better half loving the place, she wants to go back more often now so its a win for both of us. I missed Caffiene Dreams and I'm glad I stopped in today. I'll prolly be more of a regular from now on. Drink up Minions!!

Great neighborhood coffee shop. I like that I can order a drink the way I want and the baristas can actually make it that way (not like at chain coffee houses where they don't know what you are talking about). They always have a variety of delicious treats as well. I like that there is usually at least one gluten free option among the choices. There is also a great tea selection to choose from if you aren't feeling like coffee. They support local artists by showing their work, most of which is available for purchase. Being an artist myself I really appreciate the fact that they promote area artists and provide a venue for them to show some work and maybe make a little money. I like the atmosphere to study in. The only draw back is, so does everyone else and there is limited space with pretty small tables. I usually have to juggle what I have on my table with a book or notebook in my lap. Other than that it's a great place to study.

I have been going to Caffeine Dreams for years off and on. The coffee is good and the baristas are always friendly and get your order right. The atmosphere is mellow and a good place to meet friends, as long as it isn't too busy. There is always lots of random art up, although there used to be more. If you are a smoker or just prefer to be outside, there is a patio. If you are not a smoker, be warned that someone outside usually is. There is almost always a mix of people at Caffeine Dreams, some there to hang out and talk and others are there to work on homework or study. For me, it is not the best study environment just because you can sometimes have trouble finding a seat, especially if you need an outlet. They have later hours during the summer (I believe until midnight on Friday and Saturday). This makes it a decent hang out spot if you want to sit down and enjoy some time with friends. I would recommend the regular coffee, the Pipe Dream, the Italian sodas (peach is really good on a hot day), or the chai latte. If you are there and hungry, they have a pile of day old goodies that are good. The best things are the blueberry scones and the napoleons (which are a little pricey, but worth it). Finally, they also have some really nice sandwiches that are quite yummy. Generally a really nice coffee shop with some perks above other ones nearby.

I've been to this coffee shop on numerous occasions throughout different times of the year. Overall, I love the coffee selections available, the atmosphere, choice of music (which lightly plays throughout the lounge area), the sandwiches (turkey pesto is phenomenal), and the people on staff. If you are looking to stop by, grab a coffee and hang out, I would recommend this place at any point in the year. However, as a student who needs a place to study during the school year, Caffeine Dreams is not always the ideal place to work. During their busy times (fall/winter), you may find yourself waiting for a table to spread your books and laptop out on. Or, if you do find a table it may be too small, or too far from a wall outlet. As a place that tries to cater towards this kind of crowd, I feel they should do some work in providing more places to study, and more outlets along the walls. If this issue was fixed I probably would've gone with 5 stars.

Stopped in on a recent Saturday morning with friends. Tucked away location, so it's not the kind of place where tons of people are just driving by and just stop in. Nice vibe with local art for sale and an eclectic selection of furniture (you can sit on a couch, bar stool or cafe chair - your choice). I'd agree with other reviewers that the tables are bit on the small side. Good selection of pastries - from fruit tarts to blueberry muffins to fiber/flax bars to vegan options. Coffee is pretty good, but on the weaker side (If I drank that much of my own brew I'd be shaking with too much caffeine). I'd go back - I'd rather spend three hours on a Saturday here than at a Starbucks. Two coffees and a muffin - about $9.

College. Coffee.

I can only blame my timing (after breakfast rush and before lunch) for the lack of EVERYTHING. lol

Went back and had a chai latte this time. Not my favorite, unfortunately. Slightly cloying. Still a good place though. Very friendly service.

Perfect coffee shop- staff are genuine and the food always is good! Nothing tastes as though it was mass produced. I am very impressed with the place and cannot wait to see what the outdoor veranda is like in he spring.

Good coffee and vegan friendly pastries. Local artwork and comfortable seating options made this a needed comfortable find while I was out of town

Yum! Homemade hummus on my vegan wrap. My sister and I needed a quick bite to eat while in between real estate appointments. They were quick and easy to find. Next time I'm in town this is the spot to go when you want something different than Starbucks.

You'll find me here more days than not. I'm a fan because of the free wifi, sandwich options (a step up from a pastry-only place), plentiful parking, all the electric outlets for the laptop, and how rarely they run out of tables.

Nice spot in a somewhat random location. The building and patio are both awesome while beverages and treats are both more on the 'average' level. Go for the atmosphere and chai. The fruit tarts are pretty good too.
