Friendly, helpful service. Lots of amazing vegan sushi options that were marked with a "V". They had vegan options other than sushi but they weren't marked on the menu. Loved everything I tried! With all the vegan options available I wish they offered a dessert.

My review for baby blue in legacy is similar to that of my Blue review for the 144th and maple location. Consistently excellent food. The fish always tastes fresh. Yes, at the sushi is Americanized, but I love sashimi and nigiri and I appreciate wherever they source their fish. However, I cannot get over the issues that I have with service on a way too regular basis. It's just the little things. For example, on a very slow Saturday night, it took quite a while for our waitress to come and greet us and take our drink orders. Then I used my check in offer for free edamame yet it showed up on the bill. Finally, on this late Saturday night we were literally the only table in the restaurant. As we were leaving the hostess comes up to us and asks if if we would like to be seated. How she did not notice that we were the only table there for quite some time I don't know. You come here for the food and trendy atmosphere you do not come here for the service.

I love Blue's variety of vegetarian sushi. It's refreshing to have more options than just "avocado roll or veggie roll"? I love the edamame hummus, and the vegetarian lettuce wraps are AH MAY ZING. Service is generally good. The all day Sunday happy hour is great, but generally pretty busy no matter what time you go.

  • Kaite S.

Not as good as other sushi restaurants in Omaha. Too costly to be worth while outside of happy hour. Even then, the happy hour menu is pretty selective and a bit pricey.

Very cool place... Nice vibe... It's usually the go-to suggestion when girlfriends are thinking of a lunch place or a restaurant before a night out... But lately I have been disappointed with the food. I tried the pricey lobster roll and it was just ok. My itchy seabass (which is usually amazing) seemed to be lacking something. Hopefully next time is better.

The atmosphere is great and the food even better! Sushi variations that you simply don't see every where else. I like to for the happy hour so I can sample more of the sushi with well priced drinks. The staff all look like ex american eagle or gap models so going there makes me feel a little more beautiful for a moment. Try the spider crab roll and be careful with the sake bomber!

Never disappointed when I leave Blue, in fact I always leave overly stuffed. Tempura veggies or calamari are a must for starters, and the extensive list of sushi is guaranteed to please. I always try something new. Sapporo goes well with whatever you order, but I would not order the house margarita. It may have been a happy hour recipe, but mine tasted like straight up syrup with a tiny bit of cheap tequila. Bartenders are always friendly, and don't forget to order the spicy ponzu for your sushi!

This used to be our go-to spot for sushi but lately has become a big disappointment. Maybe it's our waiter Michael (maybe Mike), who waited on us the past 3 or 4 visits. It's strange, we cannot win the lottery but unfortunately can always win Michael as our waiter. He isn't rude but yet isn't warm or welcoming......at least to my wife and I. We've noticed him chopping it up with other tables but to us, Michael is all business. Now I am not one for excessive meaningless banter, but at the same time I like to feel like my business is wanted rather than taken for granted. After our last visit a few months ago we decided that although we will not completely write off Blue, we will no longer hold Blue in such high regard. A few places that offer great sushi AND a great dining experience includes Hiro 88 and Krave. We always feel rushed with Michael, but ironically we are in no rush to return! For the other waiters at Baby Blue Sushi Sake Grill.....Don't Be Like Mike!

Best sushi bar in the mid west. When I ate here, I felt like I was by the sea. The place is decorated with all kinds of fish tanks and trendy furniture. Everything was super neat and clean. We were greeted by a very friendly wait staff who were very nice to our loud obnoxious group that we brought in with us . The sake bombs kept coming and it was the beginning of a long night of partying.

The best Sushi In Omaha. It's not East Coast sushi but, it's the best sushi that the Midwest could possibly offer.

This place has a fantastic happy hour and the sushi is always excellently prepared and delicious. I would highly recommend blue to any sushi lover. Our fav is always the beach but I've honestly never had anything bad there. Keep up the good work blue!

Back in Omaha and was missing sushi so stopped into Blue. I had been to the original Blue years ago and enjoyed it so thought I would try this one. It seemed a little unorganized so I just wandered around till I found an open seat at the bar and ordered. Some regulars walked in after me and sat down so I had to wait while they were taken care of but finally got someone's attention and ordered a drink and some food. It was OK and happy hour prices so all good. I am not a big fan of the metal chopsticks but they get props for having a large Fugu in the huge fish tank mounted above thy e bar. Overall OK.

When we were waylaid in Omaha by a damaged tire, we dropped the car off at the tire place across the street and wandered over to Baby Blue to eat, drink, and wait out our car repair. We could not have been more delighted -- or astonished -- to find such high quality sushi -- in Omaha!! Service is knowledgable & professional -- not cloying but just friendly enough. The food is shockingly good -- better than most of the sushi places in LA. On our next trip cross country, we're going to make it a point to stop here. An absolutely perfect place for a high-quality lunch, and a really wonderful surprise in the middle of the midwest.

This is seriously my fave sushi spot ever. I've had sushi in NYC and Chicago, and you can't beat the delicious sushi and awesome happy hour sushi specials. Since having a daughter, I'm not one to party hop any longer, but Blue does have happy hour sushi specials on Sunday, all day. $5 a roll? Yes, please. My favorite roll has to be the Philly. The salmon is so tasty! For the newbie sushi adventurers out there, there are so many amazing veggie options. The pork gyoza is so yummy, definitely the best I've had. My most recent visit was for Mother's Day, and there was no wait, but you could tell it was busy. Our server was so attentive and courteous. We were waiting a little bit for our sushi, so she brought by a little fruit smorgasbord for my 2 year old. So nice! Definitely recommend going during happy hours, otherwise it can get a bit pricey.

I have frequented the downtown and Maple locations, but had never been to this one. We stopped in as a continuation after brunch on an impromptu Sunday Funday. The décor and ambiance are fun and comparable to the other locations with pristine salt water fish tanks filled with colorful fish, glowing red/blue bar lights, a bar adorned with various liquors infusing, and the dark bathrooms with newspaper covered walls. The restaurant was pretty full but the hostess got us a table for our group of 10 in about 5 minutes, which was pretty impressive. As you might imagine, everyone was a few drinks in by the time we got here. Despite the slightly loud nature of our group, our waitress was awesome! She quickly greeted our table and got everyone waters. She took drink and food orders in a friendly and efficient manner and was even patient with the occasional indecisiveness. We never really had to wait for drinks and she also quickly split our checks for us. They have all day happy hour on Sundays and they have one of the better happy hours around, with a great variety of both food and drink options at a decently discounted price. I stuck with the $3 margaritas while my husband went with the $2 Coors light draws. A couple people in our party ordered from the martini menu and assured me they were on point with the delicious martinis I have had at the other Blue locations. My husband and I ordered the chicken lettuce wraps to share and, despite the restaurant being full, our food arrived in about 8 minutes. Blue's lettuce wraps are my favorite. I usually prefer the vegetarian but I settled for chicken to appease my meat-loving husband. Really, both are great options, and you cannot beat the happy hour price. They are served on a platter of sorts with different toppings and multiple sauce choices so you can assemble them how you like them. You get a good amount of food for the price. Also, if you check in here on Yelp you can get a free order of Edamame. This location is now the closest to my work and home so I will probably be frequenting this location more often. I didn't try any sushi on this visit, but I have always been very happy with the sushi at the other locations. I was very happy with the food, drinks, and service on this visit and cannot wait to come back again!

forgot my wifes salad ... appetizer came with dinner cold... this place is off my list... the manager did catch us at the door and gave us a discount off our bill, but that really should have all together been avoided.... train your staff before you set em loose on the customer

Best place for sushi in Omaha. We love the hotel cali. The decor is interesting but the venue is very noisy. Regardless, food is awesomely delish.

Well it was not the worst sushi that i have had but far, far from the best. Service was fine but the rolls that i had were very small and lacking flavor. The escolar sashimi was ok but lacked any sauce. Some tuna sashimi tasted old. Would give it another try but would not expect too much.

Amateur, at best. When it comes to sushi the devil is in the details, and Baby Blue seriously has no clue. The prices are way too high for the quality of food, I felt ripped off. They could at least give you free miso soup if you order a bunch of sushi! Why do I say "amateur"? Because they can't even cook rice properly. The short grain rice was gummy and completely over seasoned to the point where it had a sheen to it. On every roll we ordered, the layer of rice was completely uneven, and super thick where the roll came together, this made every bite inconsistent, the roll came apart too easily, and there was overall just far too much gummy rice to enjoy any other part of it. The nigiri was a complete failure, almost insulting! Not only are the sushi "chefs" completely incapable of operating a knife and making a clean even cut of fish, they smear a TON of wasabi to try and get the fish to stick to the ball of rice. All I could taste was fake powdered wasabi, it was atrocious. Back to the cuts of fish, the fish quality was not that great, but it doesn't really matter because one look at the way it was cut tells you it is going to suck. The pieces of fish were thick and flat on one side, and came to a point on the other. Not only that, it was cut in the wrong direction (it is supposed to be against the grain). Not sure who the clown was cutting the fish but they have no clue what the hell they are doing! In short, this place is a complete ripoff, I wouldn't even consider going here for their happy hour special because the sushi just plain sucks. I guess if you are someone who only eats the deep fried rolls smothered in sauce you won't be able to tell the difference, but that would make you an amateur as well.

Better than the Old Market location. Nice specials, good cocktail mix, eclectic crowd for West O. Quick and efficient.

Love this location. I work close and it's very easy to call and get a carry out in no time at all. Never had any issues and food is always top notch. I recommend getting the blue balls as an appetizer. The hot popper roll is also amazing.

Great Happy Hour but super slow service and wait times!!! Everyone is very friendly and I feel bad for all the waitresses for being super busy. They need to get more staffed during happy hours!!! My favorite is the cherry bomb and blue balls!!! The food is consistent and they changed up the menu recently and the rolls were better tonight than when I usually go!!! Keep it up Baby Blue!!!

Still one of the best Happy hours ever. Regular stop for us. I recommend the Itchy Salmon and the mussels are awesome too. Soooo yummy!!!!

The service here is friendly and quick and the environment is clean and hip with the times (is that a phrase?). The fish is fresh and doesn't taste like it drove 1000 miles to get here...which is a valid a concern-- being in the middle of the United States of America and all. Emily was my waitress today and is an all-star!

Baby blue has the world's greatest sushi and worlds friendliest staff I go there every Sunday for happy hour and I'd highly recommend baby blue to anyone and everyone with their ceviche to their delectable fried calamari to my personal favorite the hot poppers as well as the sweet Hawaiian roll and succulent mango crab Rangoon

  • Bryan C.

Absolutely great restaurant and I highly recommend it! Staff was smart and very attentive. The manager was out on the floor making sure everything was perfect, and you could truly tell she was an expert at running the establishment. The mango crab Rangoon were phenomenal and we ordered seconds of the Sushi if that tells you anything!!!!! Highly recommend!!!!

Megan, the manager did indeed follow up with me in reference to my review. The follow up customer service I received was outstanding. It's not every day businesses actually read their reviews on Yelp and if they do, follow up on them. But Megan did, and without excuses, apologized and pointed out where corrections needed to be made. Customer service goes a long way in my book and for that reason when I am in town again, I will be sure to try this restaurant again. My friend said it was excellent, and I will definitely give them a shot to prove this.

This is one of my go to Sunday night restaurants! They offer a special happy hour menu all day on Sundays. This includes discounted sushi rolls, appetizers, and drinks. The sushi is always fresh and delicious, and the service is consistenly wonderful. I wouldn't reccomend going here on Sunday if you are wanting a quiet or romantic dinner as it can get really loud when it is busy. My favorite roll is the hot popper roll, it is wraped in soy paper and filled with rice, smoked salmon, cream cheese, and a piece of jalapeño. I was affriad to try it at first thinking it would be to spicy, but it is INCREDIBLE. The water that they serve everyone has cucumbers in it making it crisp and refreshing. If you are looking for a little something stronger, I highly reccomend the strawberry margitini.

So far, this is my favorite sushi in the Omaha area. If you go during happy hour, it's one heck of a deal. My wife and I can get stuffed for about $25. The atmosphere is pretty nice and they are usually pretty fast, too. We've been there a lot when they're busy, but they seem to do a good job keeping up with the rush. The Hot Popper roll is delicious!

I love their Happy Hour! $3 for wine! I'm from Oklahoma... (Where HH sucks) so I loved the large list of items they offered from 4-6:30. My friend and I each ordered 3 drinks and shared 4 rolls with crab cakes as an appetizer and our tab was around $50. The lobster roll is a must order! We were able to sample it and I only have good things to say! I don't recommend the crab cakes, too bready and needed to have a little more crunch on the outside :(

    (4)
  • Kelly W.

Baby Blue is GREAT! They have the best happy hour in town, and their selection of rolls (included in the HH) just keeps getting better! We like BB better than the other locations because of it's coziness, as well as overall friendlier staff. The wait staff is always great, and the bartenders are even better. My husband and I sit AT the bar for the best service! My only gripe about service is actually the hostesses, most of them appear unapproachable, immature, and overall unwelcoming. They tell you how long the wait is, and look at you as if they are hoping you'll leave. As far as food and drinks go, our favorites are the Philly Roll, Maui Roll, and Super Asparaugus. Our go-to apps are the Pork Gyoza and Mango Crab Rangoon (a small portion but worth it). Their margaritas and beer are the best value at HH, but their martinis can't be beat! DELISH! Get there RIGHT at the start of late night happy hour for the best odds of getting a table.

Very trendy Asian restaurant with excellent food and service. I sat at the bar as I was traveling by myself. Betsy and Angel did an excellent job. The happy hour menu gave you plenty of options at a very affordable price. The food was perfect. Definitely 5 stars.

The service isn't that great, the food isn't that great but I crave sushi and this is as close to decent as I can get on my lunch break. I so desperately want the food to be better but it just isn't up to par. I suggest trying different cuisine or a different sushi restaurant.

The waitresses were a bunch of ding dongs. I walked in and stood by the "Wait to be seated sign." So I waited. 2 girls walked by me 4 separate times without saying a word. I finally had to flag one down, and she said, "Oh, have you not been helped?" No shit, Sherlock. If I had been helped, I wouldn't be standing here. Would I?! Fortunately, the guys at the bar were nice and helpful. I had an order of salmon toro sashimi, a rainbow roll and the curry mussels. The salmon toro was amazing-- one of the best I've had. The rainbow roll was run of the mill. Fresh ingredients, but nothing different about it. The curry mussels were also bland. I won't be ordering that again. They do have other items of the menu that I'd like to try, so I'd come back. Maybe they will redeem themselves then, but my first experience was so-so.

Chicken lettuce wraps are so good here. I'm not a sea food guy so I can't say how that is but I love coming here.

forgot my wifes salad ... appetizer came with dinner cold... this place is off my list... the manager did catch us at the door and gave us a discount off our bill, but that really should have all together been avoided.... train your staff before you set em loose on the customer

It was late evening and they were working out if one sushi station. Sitting at the bar I can tell you they do a good cleaning job. Over all great place loved the Tidal Wave roll!

I love me some Blue sushi. Happy hour all day on Sunday is the place to see and be seen. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. I love the fish tank and the overall design of the restaurant. The atmosphere is always vibrant and full of positive energy. I've been here dozens of times and I can't think of one negative experience.
