So, on my third visit to this restaurant, we walk in a find a hostess. Looks like they converted to a restaurant with a menu and sit down service. The difference, though, from any other Chinese restaurant is that if you order one entree per person, all the appetizers are included. Appetizers consist of salad, fruit, mussels, crab rangoons, egg rolls, soup, and ice cream. For my meal, I ordered the udon noodles with chicken and my husband ordered the chicken pad Thai. The meals were pretty tasty. Much better than when it was in the buffet line. Our daughter got a spaghetti and she said it tasted like spaghetti. I guess if you can't cook that right, something's wrong. Our whole meal cost us only $21 (with tip $25) and I personally think we had $21 worth of fruit, vegetables, and salad. This place still is not 5 stars in my eyes. Barely 4 stars, but I'm being generous. This time it is due to the fact that we didn't have our same waiter and the waitress did not know the menu and with a whole room of tables, we had to sit by a bunch of people.

It's hard to think of any business with a more difficult competitive environment than a Chinese restaurant. This location has struggled to survive as a massive buffet, so now they're trying a concept closer to a typical Chinese restaurant. This restaurant is in the same spot previously occupied by the Hibachi Buffet and the Royal Buffet and the Asia Buffet. The interior is the same as its predecessors: huge and impressively decorated. On entering, one passes between giant carved granite lions, then past an intricate sculpture of wild horses, through tall doors to a large indoor pond, and finally to the very friendly hostesses. The music is distinctly non-Chinese classic soft rock. What does stand out: First, the staff is very attentive. Second, there's a salad bar. Third, some of the salads are unusual and are elegantly presented. Fourth, the place is gigantic--built to seat hundreds of people (but occupied by maybe a dozen on this visit). Finally, there is a decent selection of items for non-Chinese-food eaters. What doesn't stand out: The food on this visit was excellent, but so is the food from some of the other Chinese restaurants in town. The flavor and freshness does beat most others within about a 3 mile radius. The menu is fairly short and populated by familiar Chinese/American items. Is a good salad bar and outstanding service enough to convince people to drive past other Chinese restaurants to visit this one? We'll soon find out.

Less than impressed. This location, for various reasons, seems to have a hard time staying open for any length of time. Although I've only been to this incarnation once...I doubt that I will be back any time in the near future. For starters, the food was cold...ice cold...all of it. I attempted to mention this to both our waiter (not successful) and the lady (pleasant) working the cash register...to no avail. I was very hesitant to try many items simply due to the temperature issue. What I did have, was bland and lacked any texture other than "mush". We frequently dine out...but this establishment...no matter how pretty the decor, won't be on our list.

Not sure why the reviews are not better the food was good, lots to choose from, great pho bar, the presentation was wonderful, and the produce was top quality. I would come back again. Having moved here from Seattle where there is lots of good Asian food this would fit right in. Staff was so friendly as well.

The star is only for the poor waitress who was extremely nice and very attentive. I don't know if the other customer reviews are based on other days but we went for Saturday lunch so it was more expensive and the food stations were empty despite having only 6 tables occupied by customers and the food was not edible. here are some examples: - Sushi was rice with canned tuna for the tuna roll. - chicken was rubbery . all of them - the wontons were double or triple fried so i took a bite and had to spit it out - the noodle station choices were not getting replenished and the cook closely observes what you are putting on your plate and asks why you are making the second dish. I made one for me and one for my friend who wanted a replica of mine. - o .. by the way, they make you pay first so that you cannot complain / walk out without paying. Truly the worst meal I have had.

First of all, I'm half Asian. My mother has cooked me hundreds of Asian meals using real Asian ingrediants over the course of my life and I regularly shop at the Asian market. I know a thing or two about Asian food. I'm only gonna review my own food though people I was with had issues as well. I ordered Japanese Pork Katsu with lomein noodles. The pork tasted okay but the skin fell right off the meat and it was literally one tiny piece of pork cut up. I wouldn't have minded the portion aspect if it wasn't 7-8 dollars and the fact that the noodles were terrible By terrible, I mean they were NOT lomein at all. Google lomein. I should've taken a picture of what I got, but it was basically angel hair spaghetti. If you've ever eaten spaghetti with no sauce you know how flavorless it is. It was about as far from lomein as you can get besides not having noodles at all. To make it worse, they tried telling me that I was wrong, that i was made in-house or something. Nope. I know my Asian noodles, and that was standard spaghetti noodles..not lomein. They also give you appetizers at the buffet. They had really dry chicken wings that didn't taste bad, just a bit old. Probably from the day before. Crab Ragoon was cold but otherwise good. Sweet and sour sauce tasted really awkward but not "wrong", just not like the normal kind I have at other places. They also serve pepsi. Anyway, my biggest issue was the refusal to admit when they got something wrong, or at least warn us ahead of time that it's different from normal lomein. For example, the little Italian restaurant down by Hobby Lobby warned me nicely that they cook their Chicken Parmesan different than most people expect- this place should at LEAST do that much to people about their fake lomein. This is the 5th time I've been to this specific location for Asian food, and the 3rd time under this ownership and it's definitely the last. Oh, and I see that the house manager rated it a 5/5. I don't think that should be allowed?

I agree with everything Kaai L. had to say. The concept is interesting with the menu and getting the appetizers, soup, salad, fruit, and dessert bar included. It may be risky if a person wants to try different things that you would normally be able to do with your typical Asian buffet. I had the beef pad Thai and it was very good. I also wanted to try their wings. I got them spicy. Very good as well. I also had their hot and spicy and egg drop soups. Both were very flavorful. Many time Asian buffets have these standing order soups and they are with just ok, or without much flavor. I would recommend for those who would like to try different dishes, go as a group and do it family style where everyone orders an entrée and pass them around the table to share. I was in town for business and had lunch. I was very satisfied and stuffed!!! My check came to $15. The freshness of their food and the temperature of it being cooked as "made to order" was excellent! I was going to give it 4 stars, but I did go up to five for the following reasons: 1) great atmosphere 2) very clean 3) very polite staff 4) fresh food 5) made to order is nice because you can have the chef add things to it, like spice, etc. 6) priced very competitive.
