Mmmmm a little on the expensive side for such a low quantity of food. It was the average American food, nothing fancy at all. I ordered the cfs breakfast with eggs and hash browns. The cfs was very small, about a little bigger than a mcdonalds big mac patty. I sat at the bar so the service was fast. I was in and out in 30 mins tops.

Pretty decent breakfast. Service was great. Coffee was pretty good for diner quality, not super dank cowboy coffee. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. Would eat here again if I was driving by at breakfast time. I didn't try the pie.... Wish I'd have had the munchies because it would have been on since they have like 45 kinds of pie.

Their pie is amazing! I love how buttery and flakey the crust is and I'm not usually a fan of pie crust. Their strawberry pie is a must try!

Have been here several times. Kind of reminds me of a small town diner. Wait staff is always pleasant, they don't try to push drinks or apps on you. Most of the customers are older but I have seen families in here before. This would be a great place to take Grandpappie or Aunt Martha to while they are in town. Food is usually pretty good, lot of home cooked options on the menu. I love the open face turkey sandwich with gravy! It warms the soul. Wife loves the chicken salad sandwich and chili. My only complaint is they sometimes run out of chicken gravy for my sandwich, but there are bigger problems in the world. Get here early for supper, the rush starts around five. :-) PS: DON'T FORGET THE PIE!

Great place for breakfast. Always busy. Pie was good. Reminds me of the cafe back home. Great small town feel.

Pie. Yes, the lunches are great, especially the hot roast beef sandwiches. But the pies are celestial, and they taste home-made, as if they came from your Grandma's kitchen. This is a must-visit place when we come to Lincoln.

Was looking for a new breakfast spot in town and gave this place a try. Was very happy. Great pies, service, and food. Only reason not 5 starts was the menu could use some more unique items. Pies alone are a 5 star example of the creativity welcomed on a breakfast menu. Will make this out regular spot given the positive attitude of the staff.

A great mom and pop cafe with home cooked food. Plus the pie is PHENOMENAL. Always get some to take home if you can't finish it after your meal...which is likely because the portions are large especially for the price. I'm a fan of the strawberry rhubarb and the caramel apple pies, but to be honest, I haven't really had one that wasn't delicious!

Stauffer's is a down home friendly kinda place. Always greeted with a smile and a how are you today as we are being seated. We are regulars every Saturday for breakfast and truly enjoy the service and the food. They have a great selection for breakfast and will make other things if asked to. My fav is the breakfast sandwich which is a home made English muffin with a fried egg and topped with bacon & sausage and a slice of american cheese. I know for a fact they have the most amazing pies and other goodie that one can have for dessert. If you are looking for a great breakfast and the hostess with the mostess then hit up Stauffers and ask for Nicole. BIG LOVE

My husband and I met here for lunch. The soup (labeled beef borscht) had zero seasoning and was just a bowl of canned stewed tomatoes and chunks of beef. The turkey melt tasted good but was just a grilled turkey and cheese that you would make at home on regular white bread. The salad was a bowl of iceberg lettuce. We ordered pie (labeled butterscotch pecan) and it was awful. It was crust with nasty butterscotch pudding with a few pecans sprinkled on top. We will not go back.

Not many places out there still make Gooseberry Pie, but Stauffer's does and it tastes great!

Terrible service and they weren't even busy. Food wasn't great either. Pancakes have an odd wheaty taste. Hashbrowns have no flavor. Bacon was good. Pie was the best part. Won't be back for breakfast.

I recently ordered breakfast takeout here as well as a slice of pie, since I heard from the locals that this place's pie was fantastic. The breakfast entree was all right (I could have made it just as well at home), but was missing the pancake that came with it. I know that mistakes happen, especially during the breakfast rush, but it would have been nice if staff had double-checked the accuracy of what I was being given so I didn't have to open it at the counter or in my car. As for the pie, the base and top were very creamy and tasty, but the crust was so insubstantial I could barely tell that it was there. Although the crust was tasty, it needs to be more substantial and actually "support" the pie so it doesn't flop around. Truthfully, I think the pie is just as good (and the breakfast is just as good if not better!) at the Village Inn. I might be moved to improve this review if I go back and they remember to give me my pancake so I can actually try it!

Pie = 4 stars (tasty and HUGE selection). Food = 3 stars (all absolutely fine, but fairly generic: burgers, sandwiches, etc). Friendly and homey atmosphere. 2nd location on NORTH 48th st (St. Paul Ave), near NWU.

The best pancakes in town. Their pancakes are the bar I hold all other's against. The atmosphere is lacking and the service is sometimes slow, but I love the food.
